Fire Escapes. They were never too fond of fire escapes, especially during the damn winter season. Look at this ice! Two Face nice leather shoe stepped up the next stair. He moved it carefully, makin' sure the friction of his shoe was catching. He growled to himself. The automatic still in hand as he maneuvered his way up to the fifth floor. His car sat in the alley with the twins. It was a beat down old Ford truck that they had manage to temporally snag since that Freak had destroyed his BMW. They felt like they were falling apart. Car was destroyed, their ammunition was depleting, they had lost a large amount of their following to Blackgate, their hideouts were being raided. The Feds had to go.
What they are doing is illegal, Harvey thought as they continued to climb, We can get others on our side. Harvey might have bent the law a few times, but he still respected it. The law of chance would always be his main ruler, but being the Gotham City's DA was a tough attitude to just brush off to the side. The FBI and the government needed to be stopped, and he would find away to do it. Harvey had friends. He had many friends. He had finally decided to pay one a visit. He gulped as he pushed farther up the stairs. I hope she will talk. Shut up, Dent. Stop acting like some girl. The chick loved up back then. Yes, but we have not spoken to her in over a year. Absence makes the heart founder, Dent.
They finally reached her window and quickly flipped the coin to determine how to enter. They broke open the glass window with the butt of their gun and unlocked it from the inside. They stepped into the darkness. She wasn't here at the moment, but he had known that when he choose now to enter. Harvey shut the glass window and noticed the shatter hole. You are trying to make her catch a cold, Harvey scolded and walked over to the couch. The coin went in the air. It landed. He saw light up. He threw down the automatic on the couch, grabbed one of the blankets, went back to the window, and placed the blanket over the shatter hole.
"Better," Harvey stated. What we gonna' do? Just sit here and go 'Welcome home honey!' You're an idiot, Dent. Harvey glanced around and noticed the set up of the apartment. If he stood in the kitchen he would not be noticeable from the front door. You thinking what I'm thinking? No, we can't. She will scream if we don't.
Coin. Flip. Land.
Fine.
--------------------
They waited patiently, rolling their coin along their fingers. The other hand held one of her white rasg and on the counter next to him was a combination of chemicals from under her sink. It wasn't until they heard the sound of keys on the door did they stop moving the coin. They grabbed the bottle of chemicals and put the rag on top. The tilted the bottle over as the door opened. They heard the stop of steps and the flip of the hallway light. The steps then continued. They waited as the steps came closer. When the steps were finally near them at the kitchen, their hands reached out and cupped the rag around her mouth and nose.
"Sorry Rachel," Harvey said quietly as the unprepared woman struggled in his arms. Admittedly, he had missed something about having her in his arms. It reminded him of the past. When she finally went limp in his arms, he dropped the rag on the ground. He then picked her up in both arms and moved her to a dining room chair. They grabbed duck tape and proceeded to tape her arm, legs, torso, hands, and feet all to the chair. They stood up and stared at her for a moment. Harvey felt a strange hurt in his chest and Two Face just felt lust. They then moved to the opposite end of the dining table and took a seat.
It would be at least ten minutes before she woke up, so he wasted they wasted their time spinning the coin along the wooden surface as their mind traveled into memories.

Rachel was first aware of the fact that her brain was waking her up when she felt the pain in her head. It ached, throbbing dully. Probably from the knock-out stuff the person who had covered her face had used.. She wasn't sure at all what had happened..all she knew was that she had come home from another unfulfilling day at the office, and someone had put an oddly-scented rag over her face...and things had gone dark.
She opened her eyes, and tried to get up. That was when she realized that she couldn't move. She was tied, well, taped, to one of the dining-room chairs. Arms, legs, wrists... She stifled the rising panic at not being able to move, controlling her breathing rhythm to focus, and concentrated instead on the person at the other end of the table, obviously a man. The light wasn't directly on him..but he seemed familiar. The person seemed pre-occupied. She assumed he was waiting for her to wake up from the surprise drugging..Who was he..why had he done this to her? What did he want?
Then she noticed the coin rolling on the tabletop...two faces.. The person's hand reached out and caught it; two sides.. light side, dark side...
"Harvey..?"

They watched as the coin spun like a circle tornado along the wooden surface. Which side will it land on next? They wondered as it continued to spin. Strangely enough, it isn't until his name is called out do they finally look up at Rachel. Her brown hair was in shambles, and her face looked confused and not focused. Hardly surprising for someone who was just drugged. Fine lookin' girl. Why we break it off with her? She is very pretty, but remember she is stubborn as a mule. I like feisty. Yes, I do too on occasion. It was hard to look at her because Harvey was a sentimental man. He was easily wrapped into pass memories like how many times he had stopped at her office with a random witty phrase only for her to shoo him away. He finally made a deal with her: heads you go on a date with me or tails I stop bothering you at the office. Double sided coin landed him a date, and he spent it convincing her that he was not just what the media portrayed but something more. Snap out of it, Dent!
"Hello Rachel," he said softly, stopping the coin from spinning with his finger, "I apologize for the circumstances, but I have to be cautious." He paused. His eyes that had been focusing on her face left to the coin. He almost felt too ashamed to look her in the face. He did not want her to be angry or upset with him. Every time he saw Gilda....she screamed.
Dent, you really need to grow a pair or stop being a man whore with all your 'x's. Falling in love does not make me a whore, but yes, I suppose you are right.
His eyes went back up to her face. "I promise you, I would not be bothering you if this was not important, but I need a favor," he stated.

Rachel recognized the expression on Harvey's face. She understood it at the same time. He felt bad about it, and he didn't want her to be upset. She was upset, but more at being tied up and not at his visit. She was reminded, for a moment, of the past, memories of better days filling her mind. But things were different now. She refocused on Harvey.
"Harvey..I'm not angry..I'm more confused than anything. Why did you knock me out? You could have just waited until I got home and asked to come in.." she shook her head to clear it, still somewhat groggy. Whatever chemicals he had mixed, they were pretty potent. "Was there a reason that made it impossible for you to just knock when I was home?"
She listened to him talk, explaining why he was there. She frowned a little, contemplating his words.
"A favor? You know that the FBI has taken over, so we have virtually no power, right?" she asked him, wanting to be sure. She was also curious as to what the favor was..

They chuckled at her first response. It was nice to know that Rachel still treated them the same as before the accident, but she still was an ignorant civilian. As a criminal boss in Gotham's underworld you could never just go and knock on someone's door without the cops, or now the Fed getting called. Chick is like some house wife from the suburbs. She is nothing like that. She just see the me before...this. You make this sound like a bad thing.
"Cameras, neighbors, and any other squealer on the block makes knocking on your door quite hard," they explained as they shifted in the chair to lean a bit on the dinning table.
Two Face smirked at her next comment. Looks like the girl does have some brain. She already knows why were here. "No. No," Two Face said with a wave of one of his hands, "Toots, we're not lookin' for the legal system to help us out. If we wanted a lawyer we could have represented ourself." They continued to tap their finger on the wooden table. No, the legal system would not work in this situation. The Feds had taken control of it.
"I need someone who can get close enough to Agent Tiffany," he said, his eyes darted down away from her face. It was a big favor and illegal, but he thought Rachel would be just as upset with this system as he was. She would want to help.

Rachel watched him, vaguely remembering that someone had said he had two sides..Himself, and a dangerous criminally-minded personality called Two-Face. Nevertheless, she was resolved to hear what he had to say. He was still Harvey, and it wasn't like she had much of a choice about staying to listen.
She watched him play with the coin, and heard the change in his talking. This had to be the other side, Two-Face. His mannerisms were different, not like Harvey at all. When he leaned forward on the table to explain the reason 'they' were there, she simply listened.
"I suppose it would make it less practical to use the door, being known by the FBI and other federal employees here..I was mainly talking to Harvey, though, Mr. Two-Face. He tends to be more of the gentleman-type, no offense meant.."
"Close enough to Agent Tiffany? Might I ask what you want with him?" she queried, trying to ignore the anxiety from being restrained. It had always been something of a phobia of hers. She focused instead on watching Harvey, or Two-Face, whichever one was requiring her attention. This was getting interesting...and close to the line of legality...

Two Face scowled at her response. He never liked when people did that: push him away like some monster that had taken this body. He was Harvey Dent and Harvey Dent was Two Face. Though Dent was a bit of a pussy, it didn't stop the fact that they relied on each other to exist. Dent forgot that on occasion, but Two Face certainly made sure to remind that winer. "Don't make Dent to be some shining night, Miss. Dawes. After all, this was all his plan not mine," he snapped in irritation. He could care less about some sex on a stick attorney. He would have preferred going to the FBI headquarters gun blazing. Dent had to take the more practical approach.
You really must be nicer to her, or she will decide not to help. Then I can shove a bullet through her brain since she wouldn't be worth nothin' then. No, do not ruin our opportunity to retake our city.
"Rachel, you know as well as me that what the FBI is doing is not legal. I only want you to pass something along that will make the Agent realize that as well," Dent explained straight to the point, ignoring Two Face's comment. They had more important things to focus on then his hurt pride.

Rachel noticed the expression on his face. After all, years in court and pre-trial hearings had trained her well on spotting things that might signal a possible change in the direction of a proceeding. She bit her lip.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. It's just a little hard getting used to everything these days.. Everything has changed, so much from what it used to be. Sure, it wasn't perfect before the FBI, but things are so much worse now.. Even with them saying they're getting rid of the criminals.." she sighed, looking at Harvey.
"I apologize. It was rude of me to talk to you as two people." She kept her gaze on Harvey, remembering how things used to be. "You want a message given to Agent Tiffany? Or were you thinking more along the lines of something in the tangible sense of the word..?

Her apology calmed Two Face down a bit, but he was still peeved. Stupid bitch can just be a good lay as far as he was concern. All the emotional crap Dent went through for her was beyond him and not even worth it. He just wanted to give Tiffany what he deserved, which was a nice grave at the bottom of the river. "No message," Two Face stated, "We just need him thinkin' from our perspective."
"You see Rachel, we don't plan to kill him," Dent explained. Chance determined his fate not him. If they could get the Tetch's mind control jumble on Tiffany, they could easily have the man cancel all operations and leave the city. Simple plans were the most successful at times. There was less room for mistakes. As they leave we can give the a farewell message.
"I want him to cancel operations on his own term, but with his current thinking, we can't expect that to happen any time soon. We just want to speed up the process," Dent explained, "I miss hearing about you on the news. It's about time we get you back in your job." Suckin' up now, Dent. It's true.

Rachel listened, not that she could do much else taped up. She watched Harvey/Two-Face, attentive. So they wanted the FBI out.. Didn't everyone? But that was the Feds for you...always marching in and taking over. Not that it didn't mean things couldn't change. If they had enough people...
She looked at him, curious. "You want him to change his thinking? I don't see how that's going to work, seeing as how he's in control right now.. Did you have something in mind..something not illegal?" she asked, with a small wry smile.

Harvey smirked. Rachel was always worried about the law, and he admired her for it. However, what the Feds were doing was illegal, so his strong moral compass didn't believe that playing with fire was outside the bonds. Still think killin' him is the best way.
"Illegal?" Dent started as he played with the coin in his hand, "Nah, we just want to give him a new hat. Gifts can't be a crime." Once they had Tetch's technology they could turn this game around. They wouldn't be killing him. They would only strongly suggest that this was not the right action for Gotham.
