When he pulls away, Pamela smiles to herself. Yes, she thought that he wasn't confident enough to risk not having his wits about him. More likely than not he's figured out that she uses pheromones, and she takes his leaning away as confirmation of that. Resting her arm on her knee and her head on her hand she remains where she is to keep him back, though her smile fades as he tries to explain why he's doing this.
"And why, exactly, are you in such a hurry?" she asks, "Couldn't you have simply wandered into my greenhouse again? It's not like you've ever been caught before, and I don't enjoy being the focus of so much publicity. I've had a lot more of that than I'd like recently without you adding to it." Regardless of how indulgent she's willing to be, she does feel the need to make it perfectly clear that she isn't happy about this.
"And I don't think that I need to remind you of what happens if I get arrested. You're risking more than just the loss of my good will here," she adds. While she may get the last laugh if she winds up in jail and he dies because she isn't able to give him more of the partial antidote whether she wants to or not, she'd still rather not get arrested. "Don't forget that you stand to lose a lot more here than I do."

[/i] it all. "There is no such thing as bad publicity, Pamela, you know that," Noah grinned. This was quite a statement to be making from someone who was relying on publicity of the event of her kidnap to launch questions about Nightwing's alliance. It was almost ironic, Noah thought. The bad publicity was just good publicity for him. He was sure Pamela could use such thing to her advantage were she given the chance - plenty of opportunities for her to get on her soapbox about whatever she was campaigning against or for. "I wouldn't get you arrested, Pamela," Noah reminded her. He felt the van coming to a hault, and he leaned away from her again, trying to lead her to believe that he was still wary of her. "I need you," he added, resisting the urge to smile at his own comment. Right now, Pamela was almost worth more to him dead than she was alive, and yet she still believed she had his life in her hands. Right now Noah was willing to play the game for the sake of it. Where would be the fun in killing Pamela when he could leave her somewhere and let her worry that Nightwing might have snapped far enough to let himself die?[/ul]

His first comment causes her to scoff almost immediately, though she refrains from actually commenting on it. She's getting a lot more money directed to her causes now than she'd ever be able to manage to get from anyone willingly. And she's already had to evade Batman and the police's attention before, and she's not particularly inclined to have to deal with any of that again. So no, getting more attention from the media is in no way a good thing - even this little bit is likely to get the police glancing over the records again and she'll probably have to dodge more awkward questions. And if she's found out... well, she doesn't just lose her freedom but her invaluable reputation.
But his reassurance does settle her worries just a little - Nightwing is being forced to be her ally, so she can trust him to a certain small degree. She can hope that he knows what he's doing. "Never forget that," she says seriously, giving him a long look before she glances up at the door, wondering if they've arrived at wherever it is that they're going now that the van is stopped.
She has to admit that she is rather curious about what's going on. Nightwing is risking a lot with whatever this venture is, and perhaps not just because of his link with her. She's just certain that she won't be pleased with it, whatever it is - the question she has to ponder over is whether or not he's going to try to push her too far. Well, that and why she can't shake the impression that there's something else going on. And while she always tries to trust such instincts, she's having no success figuring out what it could be.

[/b] Noah assured when she told him to never forget that he needed her. Isley had no idea what Noah really meant - he needed her for information, and not for the antidote. For all he cared right now, he could happily leave Isley to die in the van. That would almost be unnecessarily cruel, and then later he could offer her the chance to be shot instead of enduring the slow painful death. He could try and make her beg for death, Noah thought. He looked across at the woman though, and thought better of killing her or letting her suffer slowly. She hadn't presented much of a threat to him, and right now she was quite valuable alive. If Isley died, the real Nightwing would be sentenced to death too. As tempting as that sounded right now, Noah knew better than to assume Isley's death would go unpunished. The doors of the van flew open and Noah was already on his feet, he jumped from the van and walked around the empty hanger, which now had the van inside. Several armed men were there as well, and were surrounding the van. "Get the lady out then," Noah commented, watching as the men disappeared inside to get Isley out. He watched in suspicion, wondering how they'd react. They'd been instructed to use force, but they wondered if they'd be delicate with her for whatever reason. A reason that lay in solely in whatever Pamela was wearing. Pheromones? Perhaps. He'd been surprised at the lack of force the men had used against her in the museum as they led her out. It certainly wasn't out of respect for her.[/ul]

Though Pamela is unsure about what to expect now regardless, she especially didn't expect to be forcibly pulled from the van either. At the event she'd been attending, it was actually beneficial to her to get hauled off - it would have been suspicious if she'd freely gone with Nightwing in such circumstances. Here it seems entirely unnecessary; there isn't anyone to put on a show for.
Still, the only resistance she gives is an annoyed exhale when she's pulled from the van, and she figures that Nightwing is simply too dense to have realized that this show of force is not going to influence her. And while the men do, indeed, forcibly pull her out, they are unnecessarily careful about not hurting her. They probably would hurt her if ordered to but without it the natural assumption, at least while they're within arm's length of her, is that they probably shouldn't.
Somehow managing to keep most of her composure despite the situation, Pamela scowls at Nightwing when she's out, commenting, "I am able to walk without help, you know." And she'd think that now that she's thoroughly reminded him of his place that he'd be a little more careful himself. Then again, perhaps he assumes that if his efforts now don't give him what he wants that he'll be able to beg for forgiveness later. Which is incredibly unlikely if he does much worse, but she can't let him know that without losing the only thing she has over him; getting out of this alive and well is more important than deciding whether or not he dies, after all. The former is a more pressing concern while the latter is a decision she's likely to be able to make slowly and in due time.
