When the Question steps closer, Shawty visibly tenses but Nina remains unmoved both physically and emotionally. "It isn't that simple, blue eyes," she says, suddenly sounding just a little angry - the idea that her feelings for Edward are the one and only reason she's refusing to talk is insulting to her. And if he thinks that he's the only one here who can find things out about someone that they'd rather not have anyone know, he's just been proven wrong.
"I've dedicated my life to saving as many lives as I can. Don't think that I would be silent for such a stupid reason," she adds, already calming herself as if by reflex to the emotion. Years of carefully schooling her emotions has left her with excellent control over the darker ones - that the Question got a rise out of her is not only an indication of just how serious this is to her, but also that she actually cares about his opinion. And Nina doesn't care about just anyone's opinion.

He quirked a brow at her, How in the world has she known his eye color. he knew that it could not be seen through the mask. Vic racked his brain for a moment only to conclude that it had to be just sheer dumb luck. It was highly improbable that she had the technology to follow him or even know where he lived. Oddly enough, just the sheer fact that she said it made him a bit more paranoid now. Q could feel his heart beating a bit faster but his composure on he out side stayed the same.
Nina wasn't the only one that was a master of their emotions.
"Then are you saying that this is a non lethal bio-weapon?"

Actually, Nina can see through his mask - sort of. It's actually more like feeling, and it's on such a small scale that she'd have a heck of a time trying to piece together what his features would look like; it's a matter of not being able to see the forest for all the trees. But she can find his eyes and feel the molecules that make up the pigments there, and she knows how to translate that into the overall color. So while she wouldn't be able to pick him out of a crowd with his mask off, she is completely certain about his eye color. But then, there's nothing to stop her from gathering other clues, though she really wouldn't care at all about who he really is if he wasn't doing a little too much probing himself.
"No. I'm saying, among other things, that if I was that selfish you'd be dead by now," she says seriously. Because if she really was the type of person who was willing to sacrifice the lives of others just so that she could be with Edward, then she'd have no trouble being the one to do it herself - she's never been one to justify things by telling herself that it isn't her fault if it's someone else pulling the trigger. What's her fault is her fault, end of story. "I have a number of much better reasons than something as trivial as my emotions for telling you nothing," she adds, "I'm not that kind of person."

Vic took his hat off an brushed a bit of dirt of the edge of the brim an rolled his neck before he placed it back on his head. "Now, We can do this one of two ways, Miss Stenet." He spoke quite seriously. "We can forget your reasoning behind not wanting to answer An you come right out an tell me or... I can have some help from a desk lamp with getting the answers I need..."
He Straightened the edge, "Its your choice. An I normally don't give them to people"

In a way, Nina almost feels sorry for the Question. This is essentially the second time that he's warned her that he's willing to force the issue, and she believes him when he says that he doesn't normally do that. He's probably normally used to people who are definitely criminals, the type who at least fight back verbally if they don't fight physically; and though she's not the type of person to want to hurt anyone in any case, she knows that such people are easy to punch in the face. Since she's done nothing but refuse to answer his questions, he's probably reluctant to hurt her.
Then again, there's a world of difference between being reluctant and being unwilling; something she knows all too well when it comes to using her gift to defend herself. "The former won't happen and the latter... doesn't work with me. If you need me to prove that, so be it, but I wish you wouldn't," she says sincerely. She does have the vague hope that he'll take her seriously on that, but the Question seems like the 'I'll believe it when I see it' type.

He Really didn't want to do what he was about to do, but he had to remove himself from the problem. It was the Problem with the a lot of things in this world, Pure uncontrolled emotions. An he was used to having to hang someone off the edge of a building to get some answers out of them. In fact Question had dropped a supposed ice cream man off the back of his own moving vehicle onto unforgiving asphalt for a drug running schedule.
but this could be a bit bigger issue than a supply of Colombian cocaine being moved to dealers then to runners. Right now he might even settle for just the lethality of the weapon, but Nina had made her choice. He walked past her towards what must have been a secretarial Desk to retrieve the Lamp.

When he starts heading toward the lamp, Nina sighs inwardly. Just as he's given her multiple warnings, so has she. She doesn't want to do what she's about to do either, but now it's apparent to both of them that words alone won't resolve this. Well, maybe he'd listen if she explained her power, but she doesn't necessarily want him knowing the full extent of it right now either - better to only allow him whatever he manages to piece together from one experience with it, since it should sufficiently show that it's enough to keep him from getting answers from her the hard way. Reluctantly, she reaches toward his spinal cord with her power. She's only done this three times before on a person, but over a thousand times to lab rats, just to make sure that she could do it quickly.
Spinal cords are quite big from the perspective of her power, though she's learned to isolate just the nerves she needs; those that control voluntary body movement below the neck, while leaving other nerves like the one that control the sensation of touch completely alone - including them would just slow her down and would actually hurt him if she did it wrong. From the moment the decision is made, it takes her almost exactly three seconds of concentration before she steps behind him to catch him so that she can slow his fall to spare him from whacking his head on the floor since he wouldn't even be able to catch himself with his arms. Just because she's completely paralyzed him below the neck doesn't mean that she wants to actually hurt him. No, she just wants him to not hurt her.
Shawty's only a second behind her, and as the two women ease him onto his back on the floor, Nina comments, "I'm sorry about this - it'll wear off in about a minute." She knows that being paralyzed is unpleasant, and since she actually likes the Question as a person she knows it's kindest if the person knows immediately how long it'll last. Still, since she wants him to learn from this experience, she adds, "I could have made it longer - or permanent - but I figure that's a sufficient demonstration for you. Because, for what it's worth, I appreciate why you do what you do the way you do it. But that doesn't mean I'll let you hurt me."
On the other side of him, Shawty suddenly asks, "If I kick him, would you fire me?" Nina glances at her assistant with a scowl before looking back at the Question and commenting, "That's why I told her to leave her gun in the car."

Typical. It was always the small ones that people had to look out for. He should have seen something like this coming, but not he had to call a bluff. An Nina wasn't bluffing. It was an odd feeling, He had lost total control of his muscles an the Lamp had clattered to the floor with a dull thud.
It took him a moment to process what she had said, She did this to him. It was her doing. Okay, he could come to terms with that, But how? It opened up too many more things that needed to be answered. He was curiosity killed the cat Embodied at times. Focus. He reeled himself in mentally to focus on the topic at hand.
As strange as it was to be unable to move. how was a question for later.
"I gave you the option, you made you choice, I even changed the question, so that i would no prevent what your boy friend has planned but help clean up after it." He was assuming that reasoning again. It seemed to rile her. People get sloppy when angered.

"He's not my boyfriend, fire head," Nina says as she gives him an odd look - half annoyance and half concentration. Now that she doesn't have to worry about suddenly having to use her gift for something else, she's free to use her gift to take an excessively detailed look at his mask and ease her own curiosity. Interesting stuff he uses - she wonders if she can reproduce it...
Pulling herself out of research mode with a little effort, she adds. "And this is your fault. I'm not the one who decided this had to be taken to the next level. And I told you it wouldn't work - you should have believed me," she adds. She hates using her gift to cause harm, even temporarily, negligible harm, so she'll happily take her annoyance that it happened out on him.
"Ask me anything else you want, but Edward is off limits," she adds to underline that point, "And for pity's sake stop presuming you know why that is. You know nothing." She shakes her head, and steps away from him, bothered both by his words and the fact that she had to knock him to the floor. How does she get herself into these things? She idly picks up the lamp, putting it back on the desk as if wanting everything to be back to normal.
But then, until there isn't a faceless man lying paralyzed on the floor it's impossible for things to return to normal. Good thing a minute is such a short amount of time.

How in the hell.... Victor was now throughly confused. His hair was indeed a fiery red when he wasn't The question, but right now his hair was black. "I know A lot" He retorted, pressing his confusion to the back of his mind. "I say it because I can tell it pisses you off. People make mistakes when enraged." He was hoping she would let something slip. Q sat up on the floor an reached for his hat, placing it back on his head.
"Just like that, So it narrows it down for me. Edward must hold a special place in your heart" he said mockingly as he stood to his Feet. "an I wasn't asking about him, I was asking about a weapon. Technically"

Forcing herself to relax, Nina turns back to look at him as she leans on the reception desk. "Oh, well if it technically isn't about him, then I technically should tell you everything," she asks sarcastically. The way she folds her arms, purses her lips, and remains silent for a moment after that is a clear statement about her opinion on that particular line of logic.
But a moment later she adds, "Look, I can't stop you from harassing me breadcrumbs, mister cheap chinese takeout, but I don't think either of us have nearly enough time on our hands for you to learn what you want to know that way. You know what I won't tell you willingly and you know you can't force it from me." There's a pause as she considers. "I'll throw you a bone though, and put a few pieces together: he has just as much ability to force anything out of me as you do. Bio-weapons go against everything that I believe in. So my involvement in him having them was..." she trails off.

Alright this was getting down right Creepy, What he consumed in his car with a pair of chop sticks was none of her business. For a matter of fact he liked his cheap Chinese food. That was the last straw, in fact he still had one in the pocket of his overcoat for some reason or another.
"Stop. doing. That." Question said firmly, it was freaking him out.

Completely unrepentant, Nina actually looks a bit amused when she asks, "What this? You don't like it when people poke their noses into things you obviously don't care for them to know, they don't need to know, and are none of their business? I can't imagine what that feels like!" Her expression turns a bit more serious when she adds, "I'll stop it when you do."
That's quite possibly the one thing that bothers her the most about the couple vigilantes that she's met: there are plenty of helpful things she's willing to say, but they always want her to go further. They always push. And it feels good to be doing a little pushing back. Especially with the Question - Batman had, at least, only pushed until he hit solid resistance and left it there. The Question wasn't content with that and was trying to chip his way in beyond that. And naturally she doesn't like that.

"Its astronomically Impossible for you to know what color my eye or hair is. " He snipped back at her, this was different, he wasn't the meta-human in the room. "you can stop me from finding out things, yet I cannot. Big difference" Vic stated, standing to his feet. Perturbed, the more an more he thought about how she was doing this. What else could she do, what else did she possibly know about him that was not only a danger, but private.

Frowning at that, Nina's eyebrow lifts slightly, "Can I? Can I really? Perhaps if I refused to talk to you - but no, you could probably find out things I don't want you to know by reading my body language. Or perhaps I could go hide somewhere? No, you could probably track me down if you wanted to. Perhaps if I installed a better security system on my lab so you couldn't go through my private documents, but no you could probably figure out how to break in anyway. In my own way, I'm just as helpless in the face of your skills as you are in mine. And you could stop me from using it on you - if you knew how it works. But the way I see it, it simply levels the playing field. Unpleasant, isn't it?" While she respects what vigilantes do and stand for, something about giving him that taste of his own medicine feels fair to her.
Feeling her temper starting to get away from her a little, she eases off and adds, "But I mean what I said: if you respect that I have boundaries, I'll respect yours. I wouldn't have wanted to cross them in the first place, but you did it first." And she means it to. She has absolutely no use for finding out such things about the Question except as a deterrent. And it isn't like she'd tell Edward or anyone else - she knows just how precious such information is to a person because she knows it directly herself.
