"How'd you know," he said jokingly. He knew how much Babs loved computers. He many not be as good at developing new programs and systems like she was, but he had a lot of skill in hacking and decoding programs with the top security. That and we knew how to get the information he needed.
"You didn't think I would actually be staying up all these nights just to type a paper did you," he said. He had so much to do when he had first moved in, but on the top of his list was getting the computer system running with the program he needed for crime fighting. "That stuff out there is just the start of it," he said. He had been working on creating hidden compartments around the building for his night life as a vigilante. Just because he didn't have a batcave didn't mean he was going to leave things laying around.
He looked at Babs and smiled. "Don't tell me now you want to try and run some type of scan over my computer stuff to see if it matches up against the batcomputer," he said sarcastically. "I've worked long and hard on those system, hacking into what I needed to get. Which reminds me...I'm going to have to pay the batcave a visit sometime in the future to get a few more things off the computer systems."
There was only one way Dick would do that and that would be to just walk in there when he got the time. He didn't care who would get upset at him. He had started working on that before he left, but got caught up in some other work that needed to be finished. He had a flash-drive waiting to be hooked into the main computer to get a few more files that he needed and programs.
"So, what do you see next," Dick changed the subject. "You can either see the spare bedroom on this floor, or we can go upstairs and show you my room and the den." He was going to keep her away from the computers for now. And he didn't say anything about the room at the end of this hall for now. He was working on a few projects for his new vigilante identity. Which mainly was the new suit and fixing up a new type of motorcycle for patrols.

[/b] she teased, smiling at Dick all the same. "Of course I don't want to run a scan, Dick... I want to relentless pursue your computers at length to pick out major security flaws, of course," Babs replied, with a smile. However, Dick had managed to capture her attention elsewhere, although they both knew quite well it would easily fall back to the computers when she was given the chance. She wouldn't let him make her forget about it. Everything needed to be checked and checked again, because even the slightest flaw could be exposed and used to infiltrate the entire system. She trusted Dick's abilities, but not as much as she knew her own abilities with them. There would be valuable information on those computers, and neither of them could risk the chance of exposing that through security issues. Never the less, Babs let the problem drop for a second as she turned her attention back the brief tour of the penthouse that she was currently on. She mocked thoughtfulness for a second, pretending to be thinking hard. "I think it's going to have to be your bedroom - and the den," she smiled. Babs was keen to see what he'd down with his bedroom, and whether it even looked like he'd been there. The computer issue was momentarily shelved in Babs' mental list to-do list, which was growing exceedingly long by this point in time. Her photographic memory meant she was an expert at making lists and visualizing them inside her head, and right now Dick's computer system was pretty much climbing the top of it all. However, the tour struck her as more important - Dick had obviously tried to steer her away from the computers and she wasn't going to argue with him or cause fights right now. She would try her best to keep it civil between them and get along.[/ul]

"Alright then," he said as he started the leave the room. "Follow me." Dick back tracked a little bit toward the livingroom. The small spiral stair case was along side the wall the split the livingroom and the training room. It would lead tot he part that had overhung into the one part of the training room.
He knew nothing around here would really strike any interested to Babs how the place was set up. There wasn't much upstairs beside the master bedroom, bathroom, and the large living quarters Dick had turned into a den. He hadn't really bother to work on setting the place up half as much time he was putting into setting his on some what smarter type of a batcave above ground. Though they were more of hiding places with his equipment at this point. He'd put in the fancy wires and coded systems as soon as he could.
Dick led the way up the stair and walked off toward the left toward the master bedroom. Like any master bedroom, it was a rather large sized room. He had a queen size bed rather than getting anything bigger. The bed sat against the far end wall toward the center. The windows off to the left side of the room. He had a desk with a hutch sitting in the far corner to the right or the side of he room away from the windows. There were a few books sitting on the hutch at the moment. Mainly his class books. And on the nightstand to the left side of the bed there was a small lamp that sat upon it with a digital alarm cloth. Closer to the windows along the wall closest to them as they entered, there were still a few boxes stacked that had yet to be placed anywhere. And closest to the door there was a large dresser with a flat screen tv hanging above it on the wall. There were yet any items placed on the top of the dresser.
And the master bathroom was off to the right side of the room, with a door to the bedroom. The was a standing shower a glass door, as well as a separate bath tub/hot tub. It was like any other bathroom, just having what comes with owning such a penthouse. There was a large mirror running along the counter in there. The walls and everything was white and as clean as could be.
"I still have a bit more unpacking to do yet," Dick said as he stepped into the bedroom. He just was never one to over clutter places with junk. Though it wasn't uncommon for things to get a bit untidy with having to live two lives in a day. Sometime leaving books and papers laying around as well as throwing other items around to find things in a rush.

[/b] she smiled. Well, she was there to help, wasn't she? She was sure that once they managed to get things out of the boxes and scattered around the place, it would feel a bit more like home. She looked around at the tall ceilings, looking forward to the prospect of actually being able to the decorate the place and make it feel warm. "It's nice, Dick," she assured him, looking back across the room. "It needs work, but it's nice, it has quite the potential. We'll make it home," Babs promised him. Things seemed to have moved so far, it felt like only yesterday she'd met Dick, the pair of them constantly arguing and nattering whilst out patrolling, under the watchful eye of Batman. Both inexperienced and fairly unable to work together - and now here they were. Babs was sat on Dick's bed, in his new home, and they were together. It almost seemed a world away from the young pair who had been arguing and disagreeing on rooftops during patrols. Neither of them could have seen it working out like this, but Babs wouldn't have wanted it any other way. [/ul]

"I probably would have been done by now if someone hadn't updated the batcomputer with more protection that before though," Dick said half jokingly as he watch Babs walk over toward his bed. He could tell that Babs seemed to feel like the place was quite empty. Though to Dick, he didn't mind having all the open space. He wasn't around as much now because of all this work. And at night, he was quite busy working on his programs and computer systems as well as a few other little things.
Dick looked over at Babs and gave a light smile back at her as she now sat on his bed. "Actually, I'm kind of used to all this space...Although, all this space at night reminds me a bit of the batcave if I have my computers running," he said. "Not to mention, the manor was a lot like this as well. Though in some rooms it felt like a museum of natural history at times."
There was still more to be done, but now with Babs, it could wait. He hadn't seen her in a while. At least they had time to spend alone now. He could finish his work later. Dick walked over to the bed and sat beside Babs a bit.
He looked at her sitting there. He could tell that her mind was wondering a bit to the things around her. She always seemed to be looking ahead and for things to keep her busy. Well, while she was there, he wasn't going to ask her for any help. He could handle it later. "I'm glad you dropped by. Thanks for bring some of my stuff over. I hadn't thought of what all I might have left back there," he said.

[/b] Babs pointed out. "You have to stay one jump ahead."Babs looked around the room again, listening to what Dick had to say about how it reminded him of the Batcave. She felt a rush of sadness, realising she might never see him inside that cave ever again. It seemed unreal, completely unfeasible that he was gone for good from the manor, and she hoped that wouldn't ever end up being the case. His absence from it was more significant than he perhaps realized, but it was something that Babs had noticed. It didn't feel the same without him, it was less cheery, less bright. Babs worried more about Bruce than ever before, scared of the kind of things he'd allow himself to jump so irrationally into without his carefree partner. Babs was proud of Dick for what he'd done - though she hadn't yet told him that, and wondered if she would have to or if he already knew it. She hoped he did. "Lucky one of us does the thinking then," Babs smiled, and she placed her hand on Dick's as he sat beside her on the bed. She'd missed spending time with him, only recently realizing the kind of significant impact he'd had on her since they'd started their relationship. For a second, Babs' mind drifted back to the taxi driver and she thought of what he'd said. Moving in with Dick was something she knew wasn't quite on their list of things to do yet, especially because Dick was striving to find his independence right now. Maybe one day it would become a genuine possibility, Babs hoped so. Right now neither were quite at the stage where it made sense to be doing it, nor would Babs like to intrude on Dick's space right now. She enjoyed the idea of coming and going as she pleased, and she intended to visit Dick as often she she could do so. Babs thought of the future a lot, where as Dick concerned himself with the present. "Anytime," she added, when he thanked her for bringing the stuff over. "Thanks for the guided tour," Babs smiled. She suddenly felt a lot older than her actual felt - it was almost like they were both older than they were. Things seemed to be moving so fast, they'd left the remainders of their teenage years behind. Sometimes Babs would look in the mirror and forget the age of the girl staring back at her. It wasn't always a bad thing to think about. She momentarily wanted to ask him whether he'd been out on a patrol yet, whether he'd thought of a new identity, but she decided it was best they didn't talk shop right now. True, it was a major part of their lives, but Babs didn't want to touch upon what could be quite a sore subject still. "I'm thinking of getting my own place," she admitted, after much consideration as to whether to impart this information on Dick.[/ul]

"Any time for you," Dick smiled at Babs. "You know where you can find me most of the days. If I'm not patrolling or in classes, I'm most likely working on a case or just catching up on some sleep." He knew she knew that well enough. In one way after working with Bruce all those years. All the Bat family worked hard on their cases and took their work seriously. Dick couldn't remember exactly how many countless times he had stayed up to work on things other than his class work.
Dick knew things probably seemed to be moving too fast for Babs. But if there was any one that could handle the new challenges, it was Babs. Sure it could be stressful, but they always found away to get through it together. Babs was a bit part of his life as Robin. Even with this change, she still was.
"You're not trying to copy me are you," he said jokingly. But just in case she would take it the wrong way. "I'm only kidding. That great Babs." There wasn't much thought about why she had brought it up, but he would play it safe just in case this was something she hadn't wanted to bring up.
"Have you already started searching or just in the thought stages yet," he asked. He was just trying to get the conversation rolling. He kind of wondered if there was something behind all this. But he wasn't going to push the subject if she didn't want to. Moving out was a big step forward. Though for Dick, it had been both a step forward and a way to get away.
