"It's hard to justify a good relaxing trip when you know you still might be needed and there is work to be done," Dick replied honestly.
His mind was always on his work at times. Something he was just taught by example. He grew up that way. But unlike his mentor, he could get his mind off his work and enjoy life at times. Though there was always going to be a part of him that knew he needed to stay alert to his surroundings. It was something that never left you once learned.
As he drove he raised and eyebrow at her words on Bruce. "Bruce and having a soft side. One description that is never used in the same sentence to even try and explain something about the guy," Dick said with a slight laugh at the idea.
"You do realized this is the same stone man behind the mask," he said. "Sure he has some what at times a way of almost trying to thank someone, but that is as close to a soft side as the man gets."
Dick knew there were other times that were better between the two of them at one point. But it had been so rough lately since the identity change and going against Batman and the others at times. Still it was hard to completely break away from his past.
As Kory rolled down the window and spoke. He laughed slightly. Always like Kory to jump right onto the pleasant side of things about this town. Pulling him away from the thoughts of many of the alleys there had been fights.
"You're lucky traffic isn't terrible today. Otherwise that fresh air would be car fumes," he said jokingly.
Kory was always right at home where ever she wanted to be. It was easy for her to jump into something new and make the situation better at times. She just had that charm to her.
As he finally pulled up to the later apartment flats where Kory lived, he parked the car on the side of the road and climbed out and waited for her to join him. Of course he knew where he was. How could he forget the place where they had spent a lot of their time as well as nights at.
When they had lived in New York beside living in the tower, Kory's place was almost a second home to him since he had spent a lot of his time there.

Kory glowed to hear Dick's voice. Though it wasn't the most joyous words that ever escaped him, he was being honest and she very much preferred it. She was determined to have as much of him as she could. It had been too long since she had truly spent this kind of time with him. Even if the trip turned sour it did not matter, as he was there. They were there together. She smiled softly. As she could manage to envision him on a relaxing trip. Upon a beach chair, with the sound of waves and an umbrella in his drink. Of course mini sized. Kory half fell in the chair if she could, she half wanted that thought for herself. As her smiled brightened at him. He was Bruce's adopted son. Kory knew that and just in her own way as Bruce. She wanted the best for Dick. After all she knew what truly laid in his heart. She had felt his passion in his lips. Something she didn't think he learned. It was who he was and always was meant to be. Her hand caressed his own. She felt the tingles at every touch. Kory let his hand go gently. To run lightly up his arm. Kory could even feel his warmth. He was no stone. As she motioned her hand gently at the side and back of his neck. So to hopefully be playful with his hair, relaxingly without making him lose control of the car. Luckily he had the chance to have both hands to drive now, if he wanted to. As her fingers sweetly played. She rolled over his words of people needing him.
"Dick, you are needed... If it helps, there is work involved, multitude of boxes. I did not know you had such a dirty mind... oh, wait. Yes I did..."
Softly Kory spoke at his ear. It was clear in the way she said it and motioned her hand at his neck. She meant she needed him. Just not in the same way as other needed him and not in the way Kory was sure Dick had meant, but she did need him. He was probably the only one she would always need. Though it was very close to want, but it was much deeper to simply wanting him. Dick was that caring person, putting everyone else first and some times he needed taken care of. He was a special man, with a special heart. It was a bit hidden at times, but never lost. As Kory lightly motioned her lips to his ears. Just to mess with him a little. Before throwing out that there was so called work in New York. As Kory teased jokingly that Dick was only thinking this trip in one direction. As her hand gently tapped his head, before giggling playfully. She after all knew him quite well. Kory then smiled as he laughed gently about Bruce and raising his eyebrows. Which Kory motioned her fingers at to play with. As she found herself laughing a little. Especially as he mentioned Bruce being like stone.
"Well maybe not as many soft sides as you. No, he could never be as soft as my little squishy. Bruce can defiantly be stone like... I nearly mistook him for a gargoyle once and almost took him out... Although it would explain why he's had almost all the women in Gotham on his arms. Luckily for you I don't like cold things."
Kory amusingly knowing there was no comparing their so called soft sides. As she smiled innocently pouting, probably not something he wanted her to scream as she quoted Dory, well what she could recall from Finding Nemo. As almost went to snuggle up to him, but remembered he was driving. Gently poked his cheek though, but wasn't a lie. Kory loved his hugs. It was like being hugged by a pillow. Sometimes a rough pillow. Kory amused herself at the thought. Before recalling the mistaking of bruce. At least what she could remember. As he had slightly freaked her out. Unlike others would, she didn't run, but she defiantly missed. As referred to cold things Kory slightly shivered. She after all preferred Tahiti. Warmer places. As her fingers motioned to play a little more at the base of his head. So she could maybe create and then feel the tingles. Upon slipping away from him and winding down the window. Dick spoke and Kory half rolled her eyes.
"Oh, I have very keen sense of smell"
Kory spoke amusingly honest, nodding her head. Not denying she couldn't smell the fumes. Kory just focused on other smells. Like the sea. The salt. It was a nice smell. Kory might just have to convince they needed a beach visit and then her little dream of him on the beach could come true. Somehow it seemed like Tahiti. Next trip. Next trip. She told herself with a smile. Her green eyes then scanned him playfully before leaning back in. Closing her eyes and smelled him. Possibly freaking him out, but if she could do that nowadays it was rare.
"Hmmm. Not bad."
Kory sweetly commented as her eyes happily reopened, with her attention a little more on him now. Home for Kory was really wherever she felt belonging to and really wherever the heart is. Her heart was always with her. It wasn't so much places. As Titans tower wouldn't of been the home it was without the others. Her family. Not to mention Dick was at times her home. She didn't depend on it, but she knew she had a place she could return to. Unlike her own family who abandoned her and wouldn't let her simply to return. Dick just never showed her any less than compassion. In whatever way he loved her, Kory knew it was unconditional.
For the rest of the drive she playfully touched him and her eyes most of the time on him. Between looking around the city. At all the things familiar. Any changes. It was maybe not perfect, but it house some great memories. Even greater people. She was in a little bit of a daze. Her pulse was racing, but in a joyful way. Hardly believing they were at her apartment. It was that kind of moment when it either looked smaller or bigger. Even given the fact Kory had been here only a few days ago. It was just different with Dick here. More real, she supposed. As finally got out of the jeep. Her eyes looked to the apartment before looking to Dick and smiled softly. Holding her bag more comfortable over her shoulder. She motioned to link his arm with her other arm, playfully. Some reason she had the emotions that wanted him close. Though eyeing him, wondering they might never get out of the apartment again and she had a ferris wheel she wanting to take him too.
"Did you want to go up? Or we can walk to the carnival now?"
It wasn't a great distance. A gentle walk. It was also in good view of Titan tower. Somehow the sunset made it glow almost like gold. As Kory looked up at him as she asked. It was more down to the fact she probably wouldn't be able to stop herself either. She amusingly thought, why would she stop? But a part of her really wanted to go to this carnival. Even see some real fireworks. The boxes could wait. Work could wait until after some play. Well it was now all up to Dick and what he would choose. As she smiled up at him. Would he pick Work? Or would he pick play? Thankfully she wasn't the testing type.

Dick glanced over at her when she spoke the way she did to him, whispering the last part in his ear. He gave her a look that was definitely on of he knew what she meant and why did she had to say that then.
"Now come on Kory, you have to be saying stuff like that while I'm driving. We've hardly even gotten on foot on the street yet and your starting up on this," Dick said jokingly.
He didn't mind her talking this way. But it was getting harder for him to keep his mind on the road as she started to play with his hair and running her hand up his arm.
Looking over at her on her words of him not being like Bruce and him never going to be the same, he said. "Please don't ever say it that way again?"
He knew she was just kidding. But it was things that were said like that, that when he was with the Titans, he couldn't live down if they heard. Kory would understand him on that. He wasn't trying to be mean. He just was the type for the cutesie stuff like that. But he knew she'd keep it up just to pull his strings.
"Still bet it smells like burnt rubber out there," Dick commented at her after catching her eye roll and hearing her words.
As they then were shortly standing on the road for a short bit and she linked arms with him, he listened to her question. He shifted a bit at that thought. That had been quite a drive and it would be nice to go for a walk and go to the carnival. But it seemed the carnival was more fun when it got a bit cooler out and the evening set in.
Dick looked down the road and at his watch for a moment. Then looked at the doors leading to the building to her apartment. He had other thoughts on his mind at that point beside getting some of the stuff moved down to the jeep.
"Ah, next time we are driving, please refrain from those kinds of comments before we actually pull up to your place. You really are trying to make this difficult, aren't you," Dick said as he took his other hand and ran it through his hair once before giving a sigh. He seemed to have the same thought in mind that if they went inside they'd never get to the carnival in time.
"You're killing me with making me have to decide, you know that," he said as he looked over at her.
He thought it over for a bit. Then looked at her and gave a sigh. "Fine we'll go to the carnival, but once the fireworks show is over we head out. Got it," he said seriously.
"Because last time you almost got us lost in the hall of mirrors when it was dark out," he said remember that time. It hadn't been hard for him to find his way out, but Kory had kept going in another direction when she found the mirror becoming funnier along the way.
He knew she'd be able to tell that he had been wanting to just go in and rest for a bit after that drive. Though there was definitely more than just resting on his mind at that time.

Kory smiled to see Dick offer her a glance. A curious look he had. Not too much as he was trying to focus on the road, but least other parts of his mind was more or less distracted. By her. Kory was holding a little back, but she knew control and she wouldn't allow him to run off the road. She after all had more faith in him than that. Still his reaction was cute and adorable. He liked having this wall up, where as Kory was simply trying to allow him the chance. To let the man out. Kory giggled softly at him joking. Her fingers gently in his hair. The light touch of his skin. Was meant to be more soothing and perhaps cause just enough tingles, but she could hardly forget who he was.
"Your a superhero, Dick Grayson. I think you can manhandle it. I wouldn't let you lose control. Although maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing..."
Kory amusingly remarked back on him possibly losing control of the car. Joking that perhaps losing control in other ways was maybe what he needed. As she playfully grinned. Happily playing at the back of his neck. His hair. It was at least calming for her and somewhere it was making Dick somewhat happy. She was sure. Kory smiled childishly at Dick's reaction to the remarks of his softness. Kory motioned a finger to his lips. Even with small things he can worry to much. Apparently over things she was fond of.
"When have I ever told anyone? I would never hurt you, Dick..."
Kory softly questioned and spoke. Sure maybe there were times she slipped accidentally, but she generally kept her word even when it was against her nature, but being loyal was also in her nature. It was honest to say she would never hurt him. He could trust her, though it wouldn't stop her from speaking her mind in places she knew they were safe. As her finger gently ran down out of play. She would never wish to silence him, trying to show she wouldn't hurt him and returned her fingers to his hair. She played and had fun. Though she still had a caring and honest heart.
"Don't tell me you've forgotten your names for me."
Kory then lightly spoke as she eyed him. She had been called several things in her life. Half of which were not polite. She just took them as words. They hardly defined who she was, so she didn't mind the nicknames. Especially the ones he gave her. At Dick's comment about the burnt rubber, stopped Kory for a second. Eyeing him slightly and laughed. Lightly shaking her head. That will hopefully not be repeated, Kory thought. Stopping a little to see him again and then laughed shortly again.
"You should know."
Was all Kory would say jokingly. Knowing she was probably the only one that was remembering it now. Before long the apartment was above their heads and Kory's arm was coiled within his own. It was such a lovely day. The sun was nice. Warm. A gentle breeze cooled at her legs and playing at her hem of her dress. Kory mildly kept it down. Her eyes watched his own. Kory could only begin to know what was on his mind. Then at his words she was sure she knew where most of it was. Kory grinned happily, fluttering her eyes cheesy like and she knew it. Before stopping that and smiling softly.
"I was just pointing out the obvious... Well, I'd say I'm trying to make it easier. I guess its like tomato, potato."
Kory commented back. Referring to his dirty mind, she did know it well. Her smiled softened more as she truthfully saw it that she was just making it easier for him. At least his mind was more on one thing. She smiled a little more then. If it went well he should be relaxing in theory. Then this was Kory's theory. As shrugged slightly that his view of difficult hers were like vegetables. As motioned her hands liked odd balanced weights to prove her statement which she barely understood herself. At his next words, Kory frowned. She knew how he was not meaning it, but she would never kill him.
"I'm not making you do anything."
Kory lightly commented, if she was making him then she wouldn't offered any choice. It was more himself making it difficult. Kory smiled softly. He knew what he really wanted to do. Part of her was sure he wouldn't be here if he didn't. Smiled more softly as he decided with a sigh and then acting all serious to her. Half wondering who he was talking to as she gave him a curious teasing look. As if he could make her do anything than she could make him. Laughing softly as her hand went to his cheek sweetly. She was glad he picked to have fun. Kory was sure he wouldn't regret it. Taking a second to recall about the mirrors and laughed softly when she did.
"Sure... Oh, those were fun... Actually I knew where we were the entire time... I just wasn't in a hurry to leave unlike someone. I think we could make a revisit, don't you think? Your butt sure looked good in every angle."
Kory did recall they were a lot of fun. Though at his words she nearly got them lost. Well, she had done that on purpose as she confessed. It was just bad time. Bad place. Smiling as she suggested they could revisit them. Though she wasn't liking her chances, but he sure looked good in the mirrors. As her hand playfully moved down, to tap him gently. Before returning after getting a good feel of his muscles. Laughing sweetly recalling all the odd ways they looked in the glass. Her eyes softened as she coiled her arm a little more comfortably and motioned to start walking. Along the path. With the sun glowing enough before it will be setting in the horizon. She could already hear the excitement of the carnival from where they were.

"I'm a vigilante remember. It you want superheroes go get Super Boy or Donna to talk to," he said jokingly.
He looked over at her about her not wanting to hurt him. "I know that Kory. But the way you talk with Donna or even Raven at those times was enough to make they guys wonder just what you girls were talking about," he said.
"And no, I haven't forgotten," he spoke a bit more softly.
As they stood on the side walk, Dick listened to her as she joked back at him about what he had said. He watched her as they went along. He knew he might have to watch what he said. She was very good at turning it on him.
"Hey, my mind isn't always on one thing," he said defensively, but not in a protesting way.
"And yes, you are making me decide on where to go. That look in our eyes has carnival written all over them. I know that. You haven't stopped talking about carnivals since you came to Gotham," he smiled at her.
He let her hand lay against his cheek for a moment. He wasn't in any rush to push her away. What did it matter any more? He didn't need to worry about any problems coming up between them.
"Don't even think about it. Other wise you'll be finding your own way out of the house of mirror," he said against her.
He smiled at her light touch against him. Boy, he had missed the times between them. This was what he needed to get his mind off of things going on lately.
"You didn't look to bad yourself. But I honestly prefer you the way you are," Dick said. And as they walked, he freed his arm from her's that was wrapped around his. But instead of keeping away from her his hand slipped to behind her and his hand rest on her hip. Pulling her closer to him as they walked.
The lights of the fair came into view and the noise now much louder than before. The sound of people on the rides, the smell of the many foods and candies, the loud music playing. It was all familiar to Dick. It reminded him very much of the ways at the circus.
"Now what were you planning on doing first," he asked her, allowing her to lead the way.

"Oh,right, but I didn't think vigilante's played well with others? To be fair I see the man first and he's far more heroic. So Dick Grayson has my vote... We'll work on Nightwing another day."
Kory did like the word, vigilante, though she didn't see much difference between words. At least not for him. He was more heroic at times than she was. She was trained to kill and he was against it. If it wasn't for him and stopped her. Like Donna said, the titans would have to hunt her down. Recalling last night. The rain. The duo fight and not to mention how it ended. He seemed happy to play with someone else. As Kory asked as she was a little confused, but she was sure it was just something else entirely. Whatever mask or code he went by, she saw only him. The man inside. He was who was truly heroic. As she smiled to him. As her fingers lightly traced his chin, before playfully raising her hand high for her vote. Before lowering to tap on his chest, at the mentioning of Nightwing.
"You really worry too much, sometimes."
Kory lightly responded with. There was little secrets between Kory and the other Titan women. Though they did offer advice to each other when they needed it. Sometimes that involved Dick, especially when Dick wouldn't brush her off and mistook that she had done something wrong. Donna just seemed to know Dick almost better than Kory did. Kory could recall the painful times that titans turned on other titans. Like Terra, but she would never do that. Not to Dick. She couldn't simply walk away from him, even in the times she did not understand him. Kory shifted her eyes innocently as mentioned he hadn't forgotten. It was all in fun. Kory could hardly not muster up a slight giggle to his protest.
"Oh I know."
As they walked, Kory motioned a little closer. Grinned softly as she agreed with his words. She wasn't always so good with sarcasm, but she could feel him loosening up more. He might find peace just for a moment. Kory found his words about the Carnival cute. With that slight attitude, then he smiled. Well, wasn't like that was a lie, but if he wouldn't of come if he didn't want to go. It was just a carnival.
"My Eyes!"
Kory repeated as somehow it stood out the most and she was fond to hear it. To hear he had noticed so much from her eyes. It was really sweet.
"It will be fun, I promise."
The last thing Kory wanted to do was pressure Dick. As she looked to him slightly apologetic, but knowing he had made his decision to come. She was sure a part of him wanted to come. Whether it was for her. For him or other reasons. She sweetly reassured him with her words. As her hand felt the sun warm his cheek even brighter. He was a sweet man. Someone she has missed. When a world is completely destroyed, it suddenly make things more brighter, but also rather fragile. Kory wanted to keep on living and feeling alive.
"Fine. We do have mirrors to come home to."
Kory agreed holding up her hands, she was sure she wouldn't miss to seeing a tiny tiny Grayson. There were mirrors up in her apartment though, that maybe a little harder to escape from. As she childishly looked at him. Then caught his smile at her playful touch. She was happy to see it. She could feel him relaxing. He was already more comfortable. Even a slight glow to his cheeks. Ok, then was a little extra colour to Kory at Dick's compliments. Causing that slight shaking at the knees. Unable to wheel back the smile as easy, but really she didn't want to stop smiling. A lot of things made her happy, but he was something else.
"You are a sweet man."
There was no great words to thank him, she motioned her lips for his to thank him with a deep kiss. Then the unexpected as he pulled away, only to pull her back in. Even closer. Kory was defiantly fine with this. As his hand made around her waist. Kory slipped her hand around his own and happily stayed close as they walked. All that was on her mind was this. Was what ever this was. It was becoming an amazing day bit by bit. It wasn't a great walk to the carnival, but it sure was enjoyable. With Kory giggling under her breath softly and sweetly. Excited to be back in someway with Dick Grayson and also excited as the closer they got, the more she could see the carnival. The colours. The beautiful lights. The sound of joy. It made her heart buzz just a little more than usual. It wasn't something Kory had never experienced until she came on Earth, but since it had come something she was quite fond of. Soon stopping at the gate. It suddenly felt really big. Maybe not as big as her smile. She then looked to Dick as he asked. As she thought about it. As her eyes traced from left to right of the carnival.
"I have no plan..."
Kory simply replied to Dick as she slowly traced her eyes back to him with a simple smile. Kory just never really planned anything. She was just the type to act, it was probably why Dick was such a good Titan leader. Kory then smiled sweetly as she let go at his waist and her hand motioned for his own hand. As she pulled tickets from her bag, so they could get in. As she politely shared her excited to the whoever had taken the tickets from her, apparently not everyone was as pumped as Kory. Now the carnival was at their feet. Kory just half followed her feet. It was a little hard with everything being eye catching. Then randomly stopping.
"How about ring toss? Start simple."
Kory's hand motioned to the ring toss game. Surely this be a good place to start. Smiling sweetly to him, but they didn't need to rush this. The walking was nice. Kory then handed some tickets and politely took the rings in her hand. It had been a while. As Kory set herself to toss the first ring and totally missed the bottles. Luckily she only has to throw starbolts, there a little easier to aim with. The next two rings were getting closer. Closer. After the 5th ring she was a little more determined as the 6th ring she threw with a little more strength and then came the sound of glass breaking. As she broke a couple of the bottles. Slightly growing in colour.
"Or maybe not... I'm sorry."
Kory apologised with the man who seemed slightly unhappy about it or creeped out maybe. As Kory motioned to put the other rings down. Another game, maybe.

"I do not worry a lot," Dick said as they went on. "I just get a little concerned is all."
Dick walked along with her, content in their conversation between the small stuff. This was what a relaxing day was. Just going out. And having Kory there was a bonus.
It was not uncommon for him to either sleep the day away. Or work out some more. Or even take on looking at more case files for his work. It was just a habit. Sometimes he needed that push to get out and actually get into the sunlight again without the mask.
"Not like there is a hall of mirror in your place. I've seen how many you have," he said knowingly. The image of her apartment still fresh in his memory as he had been there plenty of times. Not always in the daylight though.
Dick settled in stride with her as they went along and he felt her return the gesture by her hand trying to wrap around to his waist. He would have to laugh considering she was much thinner in her build than he was. So it was easy for him to pull her in closer.
As they were now at the entrance of the carnival and she talked about having no plan. He spoke, "Like I've said before. If you have no plan, wing it."
As her excitement took the best of her, Dick could do no more than just follow her pull as she split from his side and took his hand. He didn't mind at all since he wasn't one for the games all that much. Kory was better off trying to go and lead them on. He would just end up walking around the place most likely had he been going about.
"That's fine," he said as they got near the stand.
Dick watched as Kory tried the came. And when she broke a few of the glass bottles, he cringed a bit at the situation. And at the same time held back a laugh. There wasn't much you could do to hide a super strength.
He felt bad for the man since he looked rather upset over it. But Kory did apologize over it. As he was sure Kory would want to get away from the game, he pulled out his wallet and gave the man a ten for the replacement of the bottles. Though bottles like that would be no more than a dollar to replace. The extra might help to keep him from frowning if they cross his path again that night over the matter of the broken bottles.
Dick did not let her see him pay the man as he grabbed her hand and looked toward a simple game of water guns and targets. "Like you said maybe something simple," Dick replied as he paid the man in cash for tickets since he hadn't picked up any at the main entrance. He then returned a few to the man for the chance for them to fire off some of the water guns. "Go ahead," Dick said.

Their stride had been wonderfully close the entire time and Kory was loving it. Even to lean her head into him, unable to kill the smile that was upon her. With her giggle under her breath at random, it was always joyous. These moments. Feeling the rising of his breath at her ear, sweetly listening to his slight protest. There wasn't anything she wanted to change about him, at least not his heart. Sometimes he forgot about himself, Kory didn't like seeing him hurt. She wanted him alive. Kory softly smiled curling her head in a little deeper to the fact he was very much alive, feeling him so close.
"Hon, I prefer you the way you are."
Half quoting what he had said to her, Kory sweetly and softly spoke to him. Not teasing him this time. Sure she got worried herself at times when he'd work himself too hard or put too much pressure on him, but Kory did know the reasons for it. It was just who he was. Kory also knew he wanted to relax and could. She could feel how he held her and walked with her, he was happy. There was a little more peace in the way he looked at her. Kory gave a friendly laugh at Dick's mentioning of her mirrors.
"They're slightly more fun, but I was distracted most of the time."
Kory happily rambled on recalling many days and nights spend. Those mirrors held quite a history in ways, Kory smiled. Feeling the warmth of his back with her hand, yes it was a little harder to wrap her arm around him, she was trying to. Happily to then let Dick pull her in closer, it was enough for now. Letting out some soft giggles as his fingers tickled her in a couple of places. Kory let her other hand freely move upon his chest as they walked. Liking the sounds of his words, Kory kissed him on the cheek. She liked that idea, she smiled as generally she wasn't one for plans. Not wasting much time as she took him by the hand and entered the carnival. Kory got enough tickets, stuffing most of them in her bag. Soon leading them to the first game, which wasn't the greatest start with the smashing of glass. It was a slip of the hand, but still she apologised with a kind smile. As she slowly left not noticing Dick paying the man. Her eyes wandered away back to the rest of the Carnival. Just before Kory could decide what to do, Dick took her hand and she was thankful for it. Already leaving the mess behind and smiled at his words. It couldn't get worse as kory eyed the water guns. This was always a fun game, she lingered her eyes upon Dick with a smile as her hand took hold of the weapon.
"Well, here goes nothing."
Kory said with a smile to Dick. She was defiantly not afraid of some clowns and water. Positioned the gun with both hands, her eye on the target. Took a couple of tries, but soon she was firing the water down the clowns throat. It somewhat felt good, Kory laughed behind the gun as the balloon got bigger and bigger. Also more determined to slay the clown. Before finally the balloon burst. A grin came to Kory's face, as this time it was meant to break and she won. Half throwing her hands up in joy to the fact, giggling sweetly as the man called out. "Congratulations, your a natural... You can have your pick?" She settled herself back down, but smiled happily. Her eyes going to the many prizes as she scanned them. Some catching her eyes as she was still a bit unknowingly fiddling with the gun in her hand and was in direction of Dick. Accidentally pressing the button.
"Oooh, um... That one please."
Spotting a cute little tiny Robin plush toy and a nightwing toy. It was a bit hard to choose. Looking to Dick for a moment with a smile, finally putting the gun away as she blushed slightly. Before deciding on the Nightwing one. The man got it from the wall and soon Kory had a cuddly sized Nightwing. How could she have not picked it? Her hand gently patted its head and its hands. 'Good choice, he's been very popular' the man spoke to Kory. Which made her smile and look to Dick.
"I'm sure he has... Look... He's got the trademark."
Kory responding to the man's comment. Her hand following faintly at the blue on the gloves, speaking softly so only Dick heard her, the trademark was spreading. Grinning happily. The man mentioning about a free game, probably because he though Kory was so nice and Kory thought it was very kind of him.
"Thank-you that's very kind... On second thought, you can take it."
Sweetly Kory responded as she happily took the gun, before offering it to Dick. Thinking he just might have fun with it, smiled as she lingered her hand at his.

"You're probably surprised that I even noticed anything in your place with how dark it usually is when we get there," he said to her. His voice a bit lower.
He walked along side of her by the time they got to the game.
Dick smiled at her as she was eager to jump in and try the game. Kory always seemed willing and ready to try something new. She was always so out going.
Just adding to the reasons why Dick liked to be around her so much. He respected that she spoke what was on her mind. It was not often you found someone that would try and push you in the same way. She had always tried with him, but never forced him to do anything he didn't want.
But when he was around Kory, he seemed more willing to try something and take a risk. Kory was worth that risk though.
He watched on as she managed to win the game and get a prize. He wasn't too surprised at what she had picked. He just smiled at her over it. The whole Bat-family thing was really starting catch on since the Justice League started and the Teen Titans.
As she had been fiddling around with the water gun and distracted by the choice. The water shot at his face. It was only a little. And he wiped off the water that had shot at him. Dick didn't say anything as he knew it was an accident.
Dick laughed a bit at her comment as she whispered about the trade mark to him. He didn't care if the man was wondering what they were saying. He was enjoy his time with Kory.
"Well, lucky for you, there is only one original," he commented back to her in a hushed voice. His hand squeezing her's lightly as he took the water gun from her that was offered.
He followed suit of how her actions had been to win. But hit aim was effortless. Hardly any need to work about adjusting the aim or when to really have to focus. He knew what he was doing.
He fired off the water gun. And withing second had won the game. When offered to pick something. He looked at Kory.
"You might as well get the other one," he said looking toward the Robin one, knowing she would like either of them. He was sure she probably still had a few of his suits to begin with.
He smiled at her allowing her to choice. This night was for her to enjoy the most. She hadn't been to earth in a while and he wasn't going to take that away from her. He cared for her too much to let anything get in the way tonight. And he wanted to show her that.
And soon they'd be ready to move onto maybe another game or even a ride. Dick wanted her to chose what she wanted to do. She seemed to never be able to go wrong in his eyes. And he knew there was still time. The night was young.

There came a soft giggle as his low voice half spoke in her ear. Feeling the tiny hairs raise up, but in a good way. She knew exactly what he meant. Half feeling him tickle her. He sure could make her feel several things at once, but with the length of time spent. The countless hours, enough to make most blush, Kory was well aware, that Dick took notice and yes even Kory was surprised. Happily surprised. He was always the perceptive kind. That's part what made him such a great leader.
As always there was no holding back. There was nothing to fear. Kory had been through so much there was no turning back. As Kory eyed down the clown head and filled his mouth with water. Half whispering. 'Take that and that.' There was no where for the clown to escape. Giggling and smiling as she enjoyed herself. It was exciting and also relaxing. It had been a very long time coming back to down to Earth, but Kory was defiantly back. New York. Joyful Carnival and Dick by her side. It was more than she needed right now. She just wanted to feel pure joy and knew Dick was in need for that feeling as well.
Even a little bit of water, it didn't kill his mood. As Kory turned to see him wipe it off and smiled at her. Kory just lightly laughed. Not at him, but with him. As her hand motioned to help be rid of the water, especially from his hair, but it caused a quiver in her knees. Nothing could taint him in her eyes. Rolling her lip gently as she let her eyes play upon him. Her orange hand gently stroked the hands of the cuddly toy. They were soft to touch like Dick's own hands, but nothing like the real thing. Kory smiled her cheeks warmed with colours as Dick whispered back, felt her heart quietly swirl. Before cradling the tiny Nightwing to her chest. With a light kiss upon its head. Lowing the toy, whilst still half cuddling it, but her eyes were upon Dick himself. The toy version just wasn't as warm. Kory smiled with her cheeks as Dick took the water gun from her hand. Felt a rush run up her spine, felt his fingers between her own before his gentle squeeze.
"Somethings just can't be duplicated."
Returning the squeeze with Kory's own firm touch to his hand, smiled as slowly he let go and got into position for the game. Kory made sure she didn't go far. She had the best seat in the place. Always loved watching him in action. He always took pride in what he did whether it was fighting or even driving his motorbike. There was no question in his stance with the gun, he had it down and soon he was filling that clown's balloon with water. Even faster than Kory had. Her eyes grew with the expanding balloon, until it could take no more. It popped. Kory smiled brightly and through her hands up in excitement.
"WOO-HOO! That was truly impressive. Well done."
It was almost to the point of yelling, but it was defiantly Kory's happy voice. She didn't care who or if anyone noticed. Clapping her hands just a little, before settling back down. Kory laughed joyfully as her hand motioned for Dick's arm the closest to her, break a little of the distance, although there wasn't much to break and it was so much fun to see him so happy. Enjoying himself. When the man had politely asked Dick with a smile about the prize. Kory had loosened her grip and her eyes traced the walls of soft toys. Was like a rainbow. Curious what he was going to pick as she kept Nightwing close enough. Kory then felt a slight pull at Dick's words to her. Smiling for his kindness. Knowing he didn't have to, but he wanted to anyways. Kory wouldn't just like either of them, she loved them both.
Happily reaching her hands to take little Robin from the man's hands. Robin was best in hers. Her hand pulled at the cape gently, it was long gone these days, but she had enough memories to remind her of it. Poking at the tiny collar. Patting him sweetly before cuddling both versions. It was not really his thing, but even the real version from time to time had a sweet side. Kory planted a well deserved kiss upon Dick's cheek and this was his real cheek, thanking him. When the last she had seen him, he was Robin, but she wasn't too surprised to return to him well out of the nest. Souring to new heights. She had seen the subtle confidence grow within him from the day she met him. He was this man of wonder all along, he just needed someone to really believe in him and to encourage him.
Keeping Robin and Nightwing close. She kept close to Dick as they moved away from the exciting game. Kory smiling as she amused herself with the two toys. This was defiantly her Robin. Kory knew those legs anywhere. Half giggling as she half rested her head against Dick. Her hand lightly traced the bare legs of Robin.
"It was quite a trademark. Hard to imagine it was so long ago sometimes, so much has changed. I just hope its like they say, it just gets better. Because so far I'm liking it... More than I could have hoped."
Kindly commenting softly almost speaking to herself, but happy for Dick to hear her. Her hand gently traced the legs with a smile. Finishing at the cute little buckles on the tiny shoes. She had admired him for it, it was seemingly a brave thing to do in a world like this, she thought sweetly. Looking upon the doll in a place so familiar. It had been so long ago, even longer given the time in space, but the memories were still there. Kory hadn't really know what to expect when she returned. She embraced what ever really came at her, she was so joyed at tears at the time to see Earth once again. Still there and alive. A hope for a home after her own was pretty much gone. There had been an emptiness that shook her heart, but she did not let it weaken her. Kory took to what strength she had and she would never give up. She was accepting the change, well step by step. It could as Earth people would say, only get better. Where she found herself now, made her happy. Looking to Dick's eyes with a happy smile. Keeping the walk calm right now. Tucking the two toy under one arm and so she could motion to hold his arm with her free hand.
"You know what, why don't we get something to eat! I don't know about you, but I feel like something sweet..."
Finding a nice pace, her green eyes scanned the Carnival. As to where to go to get something to eat. It was a long drive and this didn't need to end so quickly. This was an exciting place, but it was also relaxing. As a sweet little stand caught her eye. Like everything it was colourful, there was some hot food, but mostly candy. Sweets. Looking around there was a lot of places selling all kinds of candy. It smelled amazing searching through her bag for some money as she approached the stand. Having a little trouble deciding until her eyes landed upon the caramelised apples. Ordering one and took it in her hand. She was defiantly happy now. Also ordering a drink to help keep a little refreshed.
"What would you like?"
Kory turned and asked Dick just before paying, offering him the choice of anything he wanted. Though unsure whether he would want anything or share, Kory didn't mind. Her eyes catching a relaxing place to sit nearby, if that be a good place for a moment, before some more games and rides.

"Well times some times change for the better," Dick replied about the trademark change.
It was also just what happened when someone grew out of the old ways of things. Evolving with the times so to say. Going on with a future. And over time sometimes one's ways reflected that.
Dick smiled at her as she spoke of it though. He never forgot any of the times with the team and back as the days as Robin. If it weren't for the things that had pushed him back then. He wouldn't be who he was today.
He followed after her as she spoke of something to eat. "You're always in the mood for something sweet," he commented to her.
Kory always had a sweet tooth. He could remember that because of her love for cotton candy as well. She was sweet herself. Always so kind and caring.
He himself picked up a caramel apple. He looked over at her and said, "Why not."
Though Dick took out his wallet. He didn't want her to pay for it. He wanted her to save her money. Though he knew he might hit some protest from her at his action. But he was usually set in his ways.

There too came a smile at Kory's lips as Dick gave hope to the change. As always Kory would roll with it. She was taking it all as she went along. Respecting what was and had been. Mostly put in space and mind into what was now. Her eyes trailed the past trademarks. The today trademarks. They were still just clothes to Kory. It wasn't what defined Dick, Dick alone defined who and what he was. Kory would know him regardless to what mask he wore. They only highlighted what she already knew to be true. He was a good man. Perhaps what drew Kory and Dick together was that neither one wanted to give up. Smiling brighter, she was defiantly as happy as she could be.
"Oh, I defiantly like the change to Nightwing, believe me. Though you know me well enough, that I see you no matter what mask you use. There will ever only be one Dick Grayson"
Kory's closeness freed up a nice distance, but enough she was enjoying his company. She had meant in general about change not entirely Dick suits. Though with a vivid smile not denying she very much liked the change to Nightwing. She of course still could like clothes for what they were. Recalling first seeing the suit last night, it yes she was defiantly not complaining. Silently laughing she had kept her fair share of his suits, she most of all liked them because of the memories they held, once shared and they still had his scent. Of course if she was gonna pick over a suit to Dick's own skin, that choice was simple. Just as she was pretty sure what Dick would favour between Kory's suit and her own skin.
"How could you tell?"
Kory remarked back to his words, a little sarcastic. Giving him a sweet look herself, he did know her well and she wasn't going to deny the truth. Mostly Kory saw it she liked things that were joyful. It just involved candy from time to time. Although she didn't go all out as one would imagine. Just enough to keep her enjoying the sweeter things in life with still keeping herself in shape. There was a very kind heart inside her. She was warm. Bubbly. Giggles wrapped in sunlight. Though like every sun in the sky above, it could grow hotter. It could truly burn. Sometimes Kory did over heat. Her happy nature was always just around the corner. Kory took the caramelised apple in her hand. It smelt wonderful. Her cheeks glowed of her joyed buzz. Smiled happy to see Dick getting himself one.
"Go wild. Oh, Thank-you Dick... Cheers!"
At his words almost with the sound he was giving in, it was more for Kory going with his desires. Kory voicing her words to his enjoyment, knowing he was really beginning to allow himself to open to what the carnival might give him. Her green eyes favouring with him holding something sweet in his hand. It was very fitting. Before Kory could pay. Dick had already pulled out his wallet. Kory noticing as he passed on the money. Making sure she thanked him for it, it was very kind of him. She wasn't in the mood for any protest. Simply to enjoy his company. Just before leaving the food stand, Kory motioned to bump her apple with his as if they were glasses. Sure it was a celebration of some kind. This day was just getting better. Kory sweetly smiled. Though finding as her apple hit, it got a little stuck. It soon came good as Kory retreated it back with a soft laugh. Her mouth catching the bits that were trying to fall off. Before taking a bite in the apple. Some bits trying to fall, but it sure tasted good.
Kory walked a soft pace to keep him near her. Not sure if Dick was in the mood to sit, but she motioned to a small table with two seats next to each other rather than opposite of each other. Just perhaps sit for a moment. Rind down a little before the next rides of fun. Kory placed her bag upon the table along with her soft toys and her soft drink. Kory then positioned herself to sit. It was nicely shaded near a tree, but Kory could defiantly feel the sun. Taking another bite of her apple. Her other hand ran through her hair a little. It seemed the perfect day to come back. She smiled to Dick.
"I hope you don't mind... I just thought we could sit for a little bit... It really is a lovely day, isn't it? Just beautiful. If the sun is out tomorrow, I will defiantly be up for a little sunbathing... Thank-you again from bringing me, this is really fun... So are you feeling more relaxed now? "
Kory softly spoke regarding if it was ok to sit. Just to chill. Her lips smiled warmly noting how the day had turned out. The weather. The sun. Its heat. It was really beautiful. Kory half tipped her head back to feel it upon her skin. It made her feel much stronger. Turning to face Dick as she mentioned her desire to sunbath tomorrow if the sun happened to be similar. Kory defiantly would enjoy that. Thankfully among a friend she'd be able to do it rather bare, she loved feeling the sun upon skin. Thanking him again, as half this fun was from enjoying it all with him. Especially the games so far they placed in and out of the carnival. Then Kory asked kindly how he was feeling. There seemed to a change in him ever so slightly. A more ease about him, but Kory wanted to be sure.

Dick returned the tap between the two candied apples as they left the little food stand. He was glad there was no protest over him paying for the item himself.
He followed Kory as they went off from the booth. "I don't mind at all," Dick said as he joined along side of her.
Sitting down and enjoying the noise around them. It was relaxing. Noisy, but relaxing. He understood that she needed a rest. They had been traveling most of the morning earlier. And had been walking for some time now.
But he wouldn't trade it for anything. It was nice to be out with someone he cared about and it was nice to get out and just been almost normal at times.
"Yes it is nice out. And go right ahead if it is," he said. Though he knew he'd be out there to relaxing with her in the sun.
"It's no problem. And yes, I am feeling more relaxed," he replied to her.
He took a few bites of the apple as they sat there together. It was nice and there was still time to the day to continue on with more games. He knew Kory would want to do more than just play the side games and eat the candies.
There were rides and more around the carnival. Dick didn't mind going on the rides with her. And he knew most of the ones she would most likely be headed toward.
"So you know I am relaxed now. But what about you? Are you relaxed? I know you're having run," he said to her as he looked over to her.

The world around them was filled with noise, but defiantly the good kind of noise. It was that sound of joy, it was hard not to feel good when you heard the sounds of laughter. The very best kind of laughter. This was what Kory needed. Kory smiled as Dick replied happily, taking a close seat beside her. It was nice to sit. To enjoy the day in a calming way. Along with Dick. It was suddenly a perfect day. Happy to be back to Earth. Taking another sweet bite of the apple, it only highlighted the joy. As Dick sat beside her, the little buzzing feelings were only growing. It seemed to be going really well. She smiled. Feeling her leg closed to him brush up against his leg, not really on purpose, but Kory made not attempt to shift it away. He was maybe the most comforting about this trip and maybe the most exciting part as well. Happy to his words, as Kory took then a sip from her drink. There was a way in his voice. He would most likely join her.
"Yes, you can of course join me... When was the last time you sunbathed?"
Kory remarked knowingly, especially if Beast Boy or Roy was in the city, but it was always something Dick seemed to enjoy nearly as much as Kory did. That and many relaxing times in the spa. Or even swimming. Laying around at the pool. Dick showing his impressive diving skills. Making the smallest splash possible and looking mighty graceful. Even that competitiveness with Donna, it was always fun to watch them. Kory sweetly asked when he last, from the look in his eyes there were maybe somethings Dick hadn't really done in awhile, but better late than never. Nodding along with a caring smile to his words he was relaxed. Kory was defiantly believing him. He almost seemed to breathe a little easier. She of course was also very happy to hear it. Her free hand had gently motioned to his arm closet to her. With a simple caress.
"I'm glad. There will be more to come... Is it good? "
Kory responded happily with the softness in her voice. She very much liked to see him enjoying himself. Assuring him there was still some peace yet to come. Her hand catching at some of his lose hairs that were still a little damp. As her smile half grew more to the closeness, feeling the rush over her skin. Before her fingers drew down slightly, brushing his cheek before motioning to retreat her hand. Her eyes watching as he was biting his apple. They were really delicious. Kory asked though she was sure she knew the answer just by seeing him eat it. Her green eyes eyed him playfully. Taking a massive bite herself, half felt it crumbled and half missing her mouth. Giggling softly. Some caught near the corner of her mouth. As tried to reach with her tongue. Before Kory could really reach, Dick distracted her with his words. His questions. With his caring nature, it was hard not smile.
"I'm very relaxed, Dick... I feel more at home, now..."
Her eyes danced sweetly with his as Kory replied. She was very relaxed. Maybe not as much as she would like, but Kory was on her way. A part of her would always miss Tamaran. She was feeling more than she had in some time. Smiled happily as she mentioned the home feeling. She didn't mean New York so much, she meant in general. That she belonged once again. It especially felt like it when she looked to Dick. As she looked felt her smile grow just a little bit. Kory was defiantly happy. As her eyes looked around her, with little desire to just up and leave, or fly away. Everything felt alive. Feeling her knees stray a little further to his own. As more instinctually her free fingers tugged a little at his own. With a sweet smile, he knew the things she had survived. Kory could survive anything. Taking more bites of the sweetened apple. Catching the pieces trying to escape down her dress. Giggling once again, smiling brightly. Her eyes catching the different colours. The way the children ran. Their laughter. The carnival music. It was enough to make anyone feel extra cheerful. After a bit more of enjoying it all along with the sun. Kory was up to moving on to more fun. Thrills. Enjoyment. As she took what was left of her apple. Sure there be plenty more candy to come.
"Ok, Lets go have more fun... I sure hope we see our friends here."
Kory urged a little with her voice as she regained to her feet. Still there was no plan. Last she spoke to her friends they had not been sure if they could make it, but Kory was hopefully they would see them before returning to Gotham. She smiled brightly to coloured lights a little more bright as the sun was beginning to setting. It was beautiful. Kory motioned to simply follow their feet for a little bit. Until spotting a haunted house ride. Not exactly joyful in theme, but it sure looked fun. Pulling her toys back into her arms, she was defiantly brave enough. She wasn't easily scared.
"Are you up for something a little spooky?" Kory asked Dick as she went to motion towards it with her hand reaching for some tickets. She wasn't sure she remembered this ride if it was here before, but she did recall the many horror flick nights. They weren't always so scary, but Titans generally knew how to make things fun.

"Not for a long time, that's all I can really say for it. I haven't had much down time since the time the Joker attacked me. And even then I only spent less than a week trying to rest before Bruce pushed me into therapy for my muscles," Dick replied.
He felt her hand lay against his arm. Then to travel up to his face. As she swiped his hair back a bit as she then brushed softly against his cheek.
"Yeah it's good," he said, smiling over at her in response.
He watched as Kory seemed to enjoy the sights around them and the sounds. She was always the type to want to be in a more happy environment. Always a people person. This was where Dick wasn't so much up for being surrounded all the time.
He was often used to being alone. He could work with others. But he wouldn't often not be found in settings like this by himself. He was more content to just getting lost in his work.
All this reminded him a lot of the times in the circus. The noise, the sights and sounds around them. All so familiar. Though this was different setting with it being a carnival and not a circus. But still his mind was always remembering. Never forgetting.
He remained quiet on the subject running through his mind. There was no need to bring it up. He was with Kory and things were fine as they were now.
He looked back at her as she mentioned their friends. "I"m sure they are about some where around here. If it is a night off for them, they wouldn't miss the chance to have some fun and relaxing night like this," Dick replied.
As he finished off the candied apple, he looked over at her mention of something spooky. "If I wanted something spooky I could just go after a serious case the police are too scared to take on," Dick replied jokingly. "But yeah, sure. Why not? Better than the house of mirrors."
He followed her up toward the steps of the small set up of a haunted house. Still they had seen something more horrifying than stuff like this. But it was for fun any ways.
The sounds of howling could be heard as they approached the porch. A few screams coming from others within the building which were real. But laughter followed after shortly.
