Joan was more used to shaking hands than having them kissed but seems to take Roy's actions in her stride and smiles back "It's nice to meet you as well Roy" For all her cautiousness she wasn't opposed to the flattery, particularly of the dress. It cost almost as much as her rent, someone should like it.
Aside from being seen in the occasional news piece on Arkham Joan is really only recognisable to those who spend a lot of time around the asylum or take the time to learn about the staff so she really doesn't expect to be recognised by people, if her seat didn't come with a name card she imagines no one would know at all. Anyone who kept up with news in Gotham however knew who Dick Grayson was due to his connection to Wayne and Starfire definitely made her own headlines, Joan had little trouble recognising either "Yes," she managed with a smile, just catching herself from saying she recognised the pair from the papers, it sounded too weird to her "It's nice to meet you both too, I've heard a lot of good things" It was kind of strange to be sitting down to dinner with them, particularly when she took into account the thought that Starfire was an alien.
"I work as a psychologist for Arkham Asylum" She finally answers Roy's question, trying to dismiss the awkward thoughts from her mind "I'm one of the doctors helping to guide the improvements" It was almost tempting to pretend to be one of the socialites and have a little fun but the asylum was the reason they're all there, she may as well out herself as an employee. Besides which she can see Nathaniel and Iris on their way and she's not exactly certain they'd catch on to the trick.
Roy's comment about red being his favourite colour earns a little amusement "A lucky coincidence. What is you do for work then?" With the crowd all split into their little groups and tables it was becoming a lot easier to relax, though Joan did still do a quick glance around as she reached for her drink, checking up on Edward before her attention returned to the table in time for her coworkers to arrive.
She nodded politely to the couple, she was planning to be nice whether they took it that way or not "Iris, Nathaniel. Enjoy the evening so far?" There was a quick glance between Roy and Nathaniel as there seemed to be some familiarity "I see you've met before?"

Carmine Falcone had ignored the summons to dinner and continued his conversation with a few pretty young women and their rich, foolish dates. He couldn't remember any of their names once he realized that none of them had control of the money they lived off of. Trust funds were next to useless. You couldn't put more money into them, nor take extra money out. They were carefully watched over and often had several experienced lawyers handling them. Better to find a foolish man who had full control over his money, and perhaps even an already successful business. He finally made his way over to the only table in the room that seemed suitable and scanned the cards. "Mr. Cobblepot, I hope you're doing well" he greeted the short, formally dressed man. This was the first time he had seen Oswald Cobblepot since he had come back to Gotham. The man looked surprisingly good, and rumors said that his business had flourished over the past few years. His eyes turned towards the rest of the table. A group of unknown people, including a blonde woman who was completely engrossed in staring in the eyes of the man sitting next to her. Their hands were clasped strongly and it was obvious that whatever reverie they were sharing was not meant to be interrupted. Carmine had the sense to avoid doing that. Instead he turned to the one-eyed woman on the other side of the table. "Carmine Falcone," he said with a polite nod, then one by one acknowledging the other people at the table. They seemed mostly to be the outcasts and patrons of the lower classes; the odds and ends of the event. Carmine never counted himself as an outcast, but he certainly was a patronus once, and hoped to gain the status again. He had taken his time in choosing the dress for such an event. His first formal social gathering since he had arrived in Gotham merited a bit more effort than the norm. He chose to wear the timeless black jacket with white shirt and black bowtie, of course, but to stand out he chose to go the subtle route. There would be no garish pastels or oddly fitting clothes, nor large, out of date top hats and canes. Instead he chose a simple patterned vest to complement the rest of his ensemble. As he took his seat he listened to snippets of conversation. It seemed that Gotham's elite was still at one another's throats. There were the jealous, the fawning, the naive, and the manipulative. Even as the actors changed the script remained the same. Pic: i.imgur.com/UjqbTVi.jpg

Rooster watched the newcomer at the table. She was certainly not disappointed in his tux. It was unique compared to others in the room. She picked up her glass and took a long drain of her whiskey. As he sat in the seat beside her she poured him two fingers from her bottle into the appropriate glass for him. She set the bottle down and looked to him when he introduced himself.
She snapped her paper and lace fan shut and released it from her grip, it dangled from her wrist as she offered her hand.
"Rooster Stone. It is a pleasure."
She smiled coyly. Once her hand was relinquished back to her she picked up her glass again and sipped from it with grace. She looked around the table again.
"We were discussin' jokes, Mr. Falcone. Do you have any good ones to tell? A majority of mine'll likely offend half or more of the room and you know what the best thing of all is? I don't give one damn."
Rooster put forth a chuckle of mischief and amusement. She snapped her fan open once again and batted it toward herself as she set her glass of whiskey down. For a table with two other night club owners, a reporter, and some younger pair she was having to do a lot to keep herself entertained. Hopefully the damn gangster would liven things up.

Tom felt a small bit of bravado as Helena smiled at him, but he was slightly disappointed in her choice of words. But he couldn’t really blame her. Brief encounters in Italy and around Europe were enough for him to fall for her, but not enough to cement any bit of a relationship. He simply nodded and took a sip of his water. “Yea…just have a few mutual interests.”
He looked up to the approaching stranger. Another red haired man. He vaguely recognized the name of the man, but he wasn’t much of a morning person. He did however notice how flustered Helena became upon his joining their group. She was even ordering Scotch. That wasn’t her normal drink, not unless she really wanted to ignore something. He kind of stalked her a bit. But it wasn’t a major thing, just something a hunter would do with his prey. “Wonderful. So, we’ve got a full table. Anyone else wanna guess how many time Luthor mentions for the betterment of mankind? I’ve got odds on up to forty.” He offered a smile to hide his tension at the situation.

Vic noticed Helena begining to get flustered. Interesting. Vic began to examine the other people in the group. Was she flustered because he was here, or was there something else? Vic couldn't say for certain. Maybe she was putting on a show. He didn't react to her. Vic Sage didn't know Helena from Adam, and he wasn't going to give anyone any reason to think otherwise.
"Thirty-six, actually." Vic replied to Tom's guess, "I've seen the transcript." He paused, meeting Tom's eyes, "Well, a transcript. I doubt Luthor would leave one lying around for any press man to find." The Gala just seemed like Luthor stroking his own ego. Still, if one gets invited and there is free food, it would be rude not to accept.

The Menu was clean a perfect thickness with just the right class of off white. The letters were embossed, slightly elevated and gilded with a logo atop it, from the catering company. Possibly not as well known as one might suppose with the money thrown around for this event. Still, the name of the company would be well known after tonight.
The menu was clean with four options:
HERB-ROASTED CHICKEN
Ricotta Gnocchi with Smoked Bacon
Roasted Root Vegetables
Sweet Garlic Rosemary Sauce
SLOW-ROASTED SALMON
Confit Fingerling Potatoes
Haricots Vert and Pickled Radish Salad
Roasted Fennel Sauce
SLICED TENDERLOIN OF BEEF AU POIVRE
Wild Mushroom Risotto Timbale
Sugar Snap Peas and Baby Carrots
Cabernet Sauce
TOMATO KAMUT RISOTTO
Served with grilled maitake mushrooms, cashew cream,
tomato confit, braised fennel, leek & artichoke,
tomato greens, fried capers, lemon zest, porcini oil
Additional Sides were also made available and included:
Corn and Black Truffle Souffle with Asparagus Tips
Goat Cheese Polenta Crescents
Gorgonzola Potato Gratin
Gruyère Vidalia Onion and Bacon Gratin
Potato and Leek Savoyarde
Potato and Wild Mushroom Gratin
Roquefort Cheese Risotto Cake
Scalloped Potatoes in Individual Square Dish
Wild Mushroom Risotto Cake
The desert menu wasn't available yet, however a small holographic image rose from the center of the table, creating an impressive interface in front of the diners. Options arose and moved, automation in the highest regard, there were no waiters here to take orders as of yet, but the sensors would pick up the orders as needed. Images of the food flickered onto the table before the awaiting diners, as if to show the image of what it would look like. With each option, a small scent arose from the table, the smell of the food perhaps, synthesized and prepared for those awaiting service. There'd be no question as to what one was getting with the meal, just another detail, another minor touch to show that once again, this was a Lex Luthor event. . . and he ignored no detail.
Once the orders were made, service was efficient, waiters came from the side rooms, carrying fresh food, appetizers, the amuse bouche of various sorts. The drink menu was well stocked, although for this somolliers were produced to answer questions as needed. The menus were not picked up, a souvenir for the evening perhaps. The waiters were dressed immaculately in perfectly pressed suits, overhead an acrobat flew over table, hanging from curtains, and then apparently hovering as a small grappling hook allowed him to appear as if flying, an acrobatic wonder.
The last remnants of the music and sound played as dinner was served.

"No, it's not crazy at all," Dick replied to Kory as they made their way to their seats.
He knew he would have to keep to character tonight. Dick Grayson was who he is...not as much of an act like Bruce would put up.
Sure it made him sick, the idea of chatting it up with some of the biggest villains in Gotham. Of course he'd want to take a strike at them there and then for all they had done. But he wasn't Nightwing. He couldn't out himself of the family.
With years of training, Bruce had trained them all to tolerate situations like that. To stay back an observe everyone's moves. Where they invited there out of good manner and knowing of Selina? Or did they have other motives for just showing up to such a large party with big names?
"I'm off duty for the night. And think I can refrain from such an act. I was hoping on saving that for at home...That's if you're not too tired after this evening's events," Dick replied. A slight grin playing on his face as he challenged her.
When Roy joined them at the table, the banter between them all was all in fun. There was no hard feeling between the friends. Even if they happen to share both the bunker and Kory's place at times.
Then they got talking with the new arrivals to the table. He was glad Kory had caught his mistake before he could out her name. They should have clarified what names they were going with that night.
When Doctor Iris Ledford introduced herself and her boyfriend Doctor Nathaniel Arkham. The last name of her boyfriend triggered an alarm in his mind. But he did not react.
"A pleasure to meet you both," he replied.
Dick looked back over toward Kory. And gave a smile to her in knowing. He knew her well enough.
"Did you want me to get anything for you from the table over there while we are waiting," Dick offered.

Post by Roy Harper - Arsenal on Jun 23, 2014 2:53:12 GMT -5
It was very rare that Roy didn't pull out the charming moves. They were of course less moves, they were all, but an extension of his natural behaviour. Perhaps it was his bad to promptly kiss the gorgeous dark hands, but sometimes you gotta take a step. Hey, if you loose, you loose. For all Roy knew, this stunning beauty had a beau waiting for her at home… Hmmm, though such a shame one would leave her so alone on a night like this… The least Roy could be was welcoming. Perhaps even a touch inviting. Kindly introducing himself and charmingly smiled as Joan greeted him in her own fashionable kind of way. Catching the almost notable glance from Joan to Dick and Kory. They were almost like Brad and Angelina, almost… Roy kindly filled an empty glass in front of him with water. Kindly filling one for Joan and anyone in range. It just seemed a natural reaction, as Roy peaked nicely and listened to Joan speak. Happy he didn't feel so much like a third wheel right now.
"Oh wow, that must be intense… It must work the mind double time…"
Roy's attempts at being cute and charming. He was sure he probably wasn't even remotely funny. Hey it could intimidating at times to be a very smart and beautiful woman, but damn did Roy enjoy getting himself entangled in it. He could only really imagine what Joan had to deal with on a regular basis. Assuming she dealt with nut jobs of the asylum… He was sure he'd have almost as much problems, but least he came with an sincere smile. Sipping his virgin cocktail, geez even that didn't sound cool in his head. Either way he most charmingly smiled at Joan's response to his favourite colour. Noting the lightly extra blush to his cheeks, he was definitely not lying. He was almost close to grabbing his guitar case and pulling out the Arsenal gear. Its always the wrong time, it seemed. Oh the tricks he could do. Fuck acrobatics, he was less ballet…. Putting his drink down to answer her question.
"I'm a musician… Though my band is kinda underground at moment, not sure you would have heard us. We're called Young Bloods1"
Basically in say he had somewhat of a really cool job, which least he throughly enjoyed, but the catch he really didn't make a lot of money from it. Maybe one day he might, but he earned enough money to get by. It really wasn't the soul reason he did it. He was here almost by chance. Perhaps had he still been chained to Oliver, it would have made more sense, but hey he could get to places without his check book. Suppose Roy should be shocked if the former father figure was keeping an eye on him. Lord knows Olive didn't care kicking Roy's ass out the door, Roy almost had been sure Oliver didn't care, but not the first time Roy had dealt with the heartless prick… Not that Roy was traumatised or anything. No, he was almost together. Doing it on his own… Just at the mentioning of his band, came the approach of more faces. Rather very familiar, straight away catching Nate… Roy went a little red, as Roy got to his feet to welcome them and as Joan questioned them meeting before.
"Yeah, you can say that… It was mostly casual, mean apart from the near whooping my ass… You have quite man, Iris… Its a pleasure to finally meet you… How you doing, Buddy?"
Responded with the slight hesitation in his voice, not that he was completely tongue tied, usually he needed to be, but it was probably best he didn't sing about the late night at the bar… Nor nearly taking it under the table, if you catch the drift. Roy for the moment left his seat to warmly welcome the arrival couple, making a small, witty, yet not too overall comment about Nate to Iris. He had no clue how much he told her and last thing Roy wanted to do, was get his ass into more trouble, but he certainly laid it out to be a suggestive compliment. He was Harper after all and in all honesty Nate had been greatly helpful. Not to be so cut and dry. Roy motioned for Iris hand to welcomely kiss her hand, though briefly without crossing any boundaries… She was indeed as beautiful and more as Nate had described, but there was certainly a no go zone Roy greatly respected, despite what people would expect… Motioned to more intently when welcome Nate, a hand to his, but no kiss, just another hand tapped the dude's shoulder. A guy kind of greeting as Roy asked how he was, with the great sound they were at least chummy with each other… Not that anyone should be jealous. Roy shortly returned to his seat and in did in deed seem like a full table now.
"That certainly takes playing doctor to a whole new level, I bet… How about you, Joan? Any boyfriends or, am I not the only single one here?"
Roy playfully smirked sweetly at Iris' words. Could hear the admiration for her man in deed, but Roy being Roy couldn't help hang on the fact they were both doctors. Not of course making fun of them, no no. He'd embrace them indeed, but certainly far from anything he probably experienced. I mean part from being taken care of by a nurse, but that was totally different. His eyes swung to Nate mindfully, suggesting he was also a very lucky dude… Though eyeing the somewhat filled table and the couples… Dick/Kory. Iris/Nate… Then there was Roy and Joan. Hey it was a little hard not to ignore, even though it was really none of his business as he turned to Joan as he asked with the hint of a sweet touch of humour. Just trying to feel the group dynamic presented to them and maybe he wouldn't be the only wingman at this table. Not that single sucked, it could be great, but then there is moments like this where you almost feel left out of the circle… Just at that, when the table presented with the dinner menu… What was with all the fancy stuff? Oh, right it. It was a Gala. Roy was hardly taken by Ricotta Gnocchi or Salmon. Mushrooms? He could be a little picky, mostly he just like manly comfort food, so he decided to go with the beef. Despite the mushrooms, Fungus with his beef… Sure it was better than it sounded… Then some weird hologram rose from the middle of the table. Images circling. Touch screen and scents…?
"Is it me or is this like right out of the Jetsons…?"
Roy commented, not really disliking it or liking it… Just taking it in… Certainly was something Roy least expected. Ooh! Though a button that made food appear, could be a nice addition in the Bunker… Or would that just start trouble? He'd have to looking into that!

Sweetness. That was encased this man. As even his simple response and words, played pitta patta with her heart. Kory ushered in just that little bit into him, savour the closeness, before taken to her seat. Her soft lips played lightly against his jawbone, prickled by the faint hairs from his most recent shave. Though she couldn't help recall…. Nor tease him about it, of course with the up most affections… She thought it was incredibly adorable. No one had ever dived into her with such detail.
"I suppose, its not much different than how much you like the jasmine in my hair… I just don't know why you have to pull it so hard?"
Rolling off her tongue sweetly, as her lips brushed more closely to his ear, felt add by the hotness of her breath. Whilst sliding in her chair. Hey it was usually random what chatter could be brought up… That usually was the fun, although it more often seemed incredibly non-random to her… Dick, at least usually knew what she meant. He was the one with this little tidbit about her hair… Which was kind of even unknown to her until he mentioned it. Wasn't like she really used Jasmine in her shampoo, so it was natural she assumed. She really couldn't know. She was just who and what she was… Kory playfully asked Dick about pulling her hair to hard, but they both knew she more than often asked him too. In some realm of play, half brought back to even this morning.. His fingers in her hair… Hmmm, that was usually what she expected when she woke up. Turned her head a little, but her eye was clearly playing him from the corner. She breathed a sweet sound then at Dick mentioning he was off duty and giggled softly… Her eyes then turned more directly at him when he mentioned home, her eyes even widened a little in pleasant surprise. So often she spoke of home with him, but rarely it seemed he spoke of it… That was really was she aimed to bring him
"I think that depends on what you mean, when you say home…? But off duty and all night… That certainly offers a lot of temptation… I think I'll fold either way, Dick… I shouldn't be too tired unless Vic has me circling the globe…"
Sweetly Kory asked Dick, though she almost sure he meant her apartment, she couldn't be too sure where he really considered home. As she offered him sweet, yet a little knowing look. He was the one that said home, he had walked himself right in this, if he rather avoid it, but she would never ever dream of cornering him… Well, maybe physically and for various reasons. As she smiled with a quiet laugh, before her eyes resettled and she leaned in from her seating. Her golden fingers played off upon the sleeve of his dinner jacket. Quoting that he said he was 'off duty', some how she knew it wasn't all night as she poke, if some forsaken happened, she knew he'd never resist and she'd never stop him… Didn't stop her from playing long with the thought and little hope. After all he was there when he was most needed. He always was. All night certainly wasn't a bad temptation though. As a hand slipped for a moment, her fingers traced his lap… Before she of course with a little more seriousness that she was on call, meaning of course titan business, but she barely needed to say anything for him to know the drill. It hardly seemed that long ago he was the one in charge of that… How it had changed… Kory sweetly smiled and enjoyed the closeness. Feeling all the tingles she always expected and a coupled there just to keep her on her toes.
Starfire's attention was then averted a little with the company of new faces and possibly new friends. Bringing her hands back upon the table. Even stood up momentarily, but it seemed the table was filled and ready to get comfortable. Bringing welcoming grins to Joan. She really was stunning in her ruby dress and were they ruby slippers? Starfire's eyes sparkled a little at Iris' gratitude and extra smile at her words. Very much heard the elevation of boyfriend and doctor… Most importantly she heard. No, even more importantly Starfire could feel the love. It was certainly most wonderful to see. It was so vast on Tamaran… On Earth it seem all, but young before its prime or she saw so many fall in and out, sometimes she pondered if these humans didn't understand the depth of their own emotions. It was most interesting to see… Turning to Dick briefly, she couldn't really say he was a doctor, but surely he had operated on her in some degree.
"Oh and you both are so wonderfully suiting. X'hal, you have such beautiful eyes… Do you all work together?"
Cheerfully Starfire complimented the couple. There was definitely something between them that you could feel just clicked, even if she just met them. Starfire was just usually very positive with such emotions. Of course love came in all shapes and forms. Her relationship with Dick, certainly stood out in many ways and even on Tamaran. It was just different to some and yet everything to them. Starfire not to single Iris out, but comment most sweet about her eyes. Having felt a little captivated as talked to her. There was certainly a lot of feel behind them, as crazy she may seem… Smiling softly, before own bright emerald eyes circled the table. Pointedly to Nathaniel, Iris and Joan. Upon hearing they were all somehow connected to Arkham and from the sounds they knew each other… Friends? Starfire asked kindly, it certainly seemed very nice… She really wasn't thinking to much into Arkham as perhaps Dick was, but Starfire was mostly just open minded. They seemed kind enough… Then the movements in the middle of the table caught her attention and Roy's words.
"Oh my… If you're asking me, this technology is quite outdated… But still quite effective"
She certainly was not expecting anything of this, as she ad began picking up her menu. Her eyes ran over the holographic images. The mechanical scents. She didn't know much about Jetsons, but she knew enough to know what Roy had met. Commented simply in return, not that Earth didn't have wonderful technology, she certainly had seen than in several ways, but it was also incredibly still young in its advancement. Very young when compared to other planets technology, even Tamaran, when it was still in orbit. Though as Starfire kindly also positively said it was being used rather well tonight. It just maybe not blowing her mind like others… Turning her eyes then more squarely on the menu… The choices… She was at crossroads... Kory looked up with a sweet and curious smile as Dick spoke up…. The table? Perhaps she was looking at the wrong table.
"If you mean that table. I already have an acrobat, but thank-you! I'm not sure how I'd feel if you did that to my curtains, though… I guess I can always replace them."
Starfire brimmed a smile as her eyes and words suggested the table in which the acrobat flew over. Although seemed mostly dangling, as Kory playfully replied, she was certainly entertained by this batsman, she was rather content with the acrobat she already had in Dick. Planting a kiss on his cheek, most likely that was what he meant, but he was right about one thing. She couldn't help herself. Nuzzling in his ear a little, as she giggled a little. Before more pointedly watch this acrobat really ride that curtain. Half flashing to Dick touching her curtains. Half feeling she'd be aroused, yet a little concerned. She quite liked her curtains, but came to the conclusion they were just fabric. She could find more or make more. Which ever was easiest.

Quickly suppressing the guilty laugh that threatens at the question of whether or not she's been enjoying the evening, Iris forces her reaction to be a simple smile and says, "Yes, of course! And you?" She may not be willing to believe that Dr. Leland is being nice out of the kindness of her heart, but that doesn't mean that she won't be polite and pleasant in return.
Smiling to the rest of her table-mates, she can't help but raise her eyebrow a little as Roy speaks of Nathaniel 'near whooping his ass', as that's not the side of her man that she normally sees, even though she knows he has that sort of thing in him. But she finally laughs at the idea and simply says, "Then I'm sure you deserved it! Pleased to meet you too." Happy to hold out her hand to him, she smiles when it's kissed, but he's right that there's a boundary there - even if the young man didn't respect her relationship with Nathaniel, she's far too infatuated with her boyfriend right now to pay much attention to any other man, and even if she didn't have Nathaniel she can tell already that Roy is so far outside of being her type that she wouldn't even consider taking any interest in him at all. In fact his joke causes her to gently roll her eyes.
Her attention shifting to Starfire, she seems surprised by the compliment and simply smiles as she says, "Well, thank you! And sort of - we all have our own patients and so forth, but it's the same workplace." They don't exactly work as a team or anything like that, though sometimes they'll consult, have meetings together, and of course bump into each other in the break room. By and large each therapist is pretty independent though.
But when the 'menu' suddenly appears before them, that's more than enough to distract her from anything else. Blinking in surprise at it for a moment, she finally says, "Wow, this is rather... elaborate." Though at least the interface is extremely intuitive, so it's only another moment or two before she's laughing as she makes her selections. It may be ridiculously over-the-top technology to substitute for a process that has been intentionally done the old-fashioned way for ages because people actually enjoy the custom, but that doesn't mean that it isn't fun.

Rowdy ‘s eyes widened when Rooster took the bottle from him and poured Oswald a drink. He didn’t have to be a mind reader to know what the look she shared with the older gentleman meant. As Rooster turned away from Rowdy and addressed the other ladies seated at the table, Rowdy remained quiet and sipped his whiskey. When she brought up the telling of good jokes, he returned her suspicious look with one of his own.
When Zahira began to engage Rooster and Oswald in conversation, Rowdy quit doting on her and tended to his own place setting in front of him. Sensing eyes upon him, he looked up and saw Lola staring at him like he was some exotic animal on display at the Gotham City Zoo. It didn’t make him uncomfortable in the least. In fact, he was flattered that he had had captured her attention. “I’m Rowdy Yates, owner of a nightclub in the west end of Gotham,” he answered, noticing Oswald had dismissed him altogether. “In other words, I’m Mr. Cobblepot’s competition . . .”
In more ways than one, he finished in his mind. Intentionally, he neglected to inform her that he'd be singing later, knowing he'd have everyone's attention, including Oswald's and Lola's.
Rowdy smiled when Zahira mentioned to the others that a museum tour would be auctioned that evening. Because he had experienced a tour personally, he knew whoever won it wouldn’t be disappointed.
Suddenly, Rowdy felt Vick’s frustration level rise with his empathy. Turning to her, he noticed her taking in the sight of Bruce Wayne in the distance. He knew what that was all about. Then he sensed that she was about to get emotional and took her hand in his before she totally lost it.
Suddenly, the hair on his neck stood up. Turning away from Vicki, he saw Carmine Falcone standing at the table. By the way the way the man greeted Oswald, he surmised the two were friends. Rowdy smiled and nodded when Carmine’s eyes met his for a brief instant before he sat down next to Rooster. "Mr. Falcone, it's a pleasure to meet you, sir," Rowdy said, standing to shake hands. He really liked the man's tuxedo.

Lola waited for Mr. Yates response but it never came, instead another man showed up at the table and her attention was pointed elsewhere. The man introduced himself as Carmine Falcone. There was a certain air about that name that already screamed he was important, he didn’t have to add a title after it. It seemed the man already knew Ozzy personally and that was something that was eye catching in itself. Mr. Yates stood and introduced himself as Oswald’s competition….Now that caught her attention. The tension was more understandable and a small smile showed as she took it all into thought.
But before she could roll too much over that thought a menu popped up in front of her from the table. There certainly was no expense spared for this gala and she was soaking in every moment of it. Lola decided to have the sliced tenderloin; the image displayed on the hologram was just too good to pass up. Once she placed her order she leaned back into Ozzy’s shoulder to ask him another question.
“Mr. Falcone?” She asked without feeling the need to explain. She had been asking him generally the same questions since they got here. Lola didn’t want to feel left out in knowing who everyone was and even though it was probably obvious already she wasn’t from here, she didn’t want to seem ignorant to it all. If anything, she at least wanted to try and seem like she knew who everyone was before she met them. Beside, Ozzy seemed all too happy to introduce her and tell her who everyone was.
Except for Mr. Yates of course.
The food was promptly brought out and she took a moment to savor the sight and smell of the dish before she began to eat. Always small bites, there was no need to advertise that she was starving. It wasn’t that she starved herself to keep thin, she didn’t have a problem or anything, and she just thought it was better to under eat than to over eat. A woman has to watch her figure in this world after all.

Oswald, despite his best efforts looks a little irritated which means he's still positively fuming on the inside but the polite tone wins out when he responds to Lola, even if it does come with an underlying insult "Quite alright my dear, not everyone can have grace suitable for the dinner table" Most of the water has been dabbed up at least but the remainder will just have to sit there and dry. He snorts at Rowdy's response though since it was clearly ridiculous to consider the man any sort of competition "And yet this is the first I've heard of you" Perhaps that was for the best of course, his competition tended to end up with their lives slowly unravelling bit by bit and he was already angry and tempted to deal with Rowdy later. The real distraction though was the arrival of Carmine.
Tipping his top hat to the new arrival Oswald would forever be back dated when it came to clothing, particularly when that clothing covered his balding head and made him look taller "Falcone, what an unexpected pleasure. Had I known you were attending I might have sought you out sooner" If only Selina had agreed to let him see the guest list he wouldn't have to worry about these sort of surprises "I had thought the invitations had been finalised prior to your return, I suppose they slipped you in somehow" Of course Oswald would act like they were old friends, business might suggest quite the opposite sometimes but that was no reason not to be unbearable polite in public and on occasion if their goals aligned they might get on perfectly well.
Falcone's return to Gotham had caused some stir in the underworld and while Oswald had been quick to crush any notion within his own organisation that it changed anything he had yet to make contact with the other mob boss. He would have preferred a scheduled meeting with time to prepare for possible backlash but it seemed he would have to settle for a dinner chat in front of the press. He would also have preferred not to be soggy from Rowdy's spilt water on their meeting but it was not exactly Oswald's night so far.
"Mr Falcone is a fellow business man of suitable success. Though he has been away from Gotham for some time his company still owns a few establishments" Oswald quickly explains for Lola before he turns back to Carmine to return the introduction "Miss Lola Marks, my lovely lady for the evening" That's right Yates, his.
Introductions done Oswald finally sets aside the napkin and reaches for his joke with a small chuckle for Rooster "If a joke offends no one it was likely not that entertaining to begin with"
The arrival of the menu through the table display made him pause, an eyebrow raising at it. He took a second to study it, or more accurately to work out how to use the thing so he wasn't about to look like an idiot. Sure the club had some pretty sophisticated software running in the background but he had people to make it work exactly how he wanted it to "Well, someone is clearly using the evening to show off. I suspect Lex" He joked as he experimentally tapped something and saw it switch dishes, from there at least it was relatively simple and he soon had his meal ordered.

One could only hope Zahira was a little something more than an outcast. More than an odd and end for the event. Though suppose she wasn't one that really emerged herself for attention. She hardly would know what to do with it. No no, blend in. Fade out, perhaps one of these folk would see it as that. Forgotten little shadow in the background. It often played out rather similar in ways, but hey Zahira tried. Even went into conversation… At least she imagined thats where it was heading for the collective bunch at this finely put together table. There was familiarity between some of them, but they were in most cases apart from Rowdy, very much new to Zahira… After getting to speak to some degree of the museum as it was asked, there seemed to be a sharp change in direction… Zahira mindfully took to her drink, it was disappointing when museums seemed to not grab at people's attention as it did hers. Suppose there was need for distraction and her life just wasn't up there with glamour and the excitement. Perhaps to some it was dull… With the coming new face. New suit. Zahira peaked up a subtle smile and ease softness in her dark eyes, just enough to be welcoming. "Its a pleasure to meet you, Mr Falcone… I'm Zahira Ormarr." Motioned a little out of her seat, but he seemed to take his seat before she could have pondered whether it would be more fitting to shake his hand. Only really getting an understand as Oswald mentions a little something, though more directly at Lola.
Falling back in her chair. Zahira was certainly content and rather was getting her eyes widened by the many faces of Gotham. Observing as she was in the far far subtle way. Keeping to herself, that was seemingly easier to do. There was certainly an element of surprise at the sudden rise from the centre of the table. Could this evening get even bigger? Beyond anything Zahira had ever experienced. She would have been content sitting at home eating curry, but this… This was kinda cool… Over the top, as images and smells swirled out of almost no where. Though she was most surprise to see there was indeed fish on the menu. It was salmon, which was even better… Although she expected it be without the skin, she generally favoured with the skin, but Salmon was good nonetheless. Kindly and suppose quietly enough Zahira made her order. The sides didn't really pull any strings for her, most of them she was unsure what they ever were. Listening as Oswald remarked in response of the table and mentioned Lex. Zahira wondered how much was Lex? How much was Selina? Because it was certainly a night to remember so far. In very many ways more than one.

"The turn out has been good" Joan responds to Iris, by habit not really answering the question at all but she doesn't look unhappy so she can't be having a miserable evening so far and it did seem to be getting better.
Joan smiles softly at Roy's reaction to her job. That was one of the better responses, it was the people who treated anything that set foot near the Asylum like they were a monster which worried her "Intense is a good way to describe it some times, at others it can almost become a normal job but it likes to be unpredictable" Learning Roy's a musician though Joan can't help the small mental flashback to university times. That was probably the last time someone had told her they were in a band but Roy was presumably making some sort of living out of it which would make it a great deal different from getting paid in beer to play at parties. Joan still looks slightly surprised "I can't say I have heard of you, it's been a while since I've been to see a band. Are you any good?"
Roy's explanation of his past with Nat resulted in nothing but curiosity "I feel some of us may be missing out on some interesting context here" From the way they spoke it didn't sound as if it was anything that had been taken personally, Roy certainly sounded friendly enough still.
She nodded to Iris' description for Kory "Co-workers at various levels within the Asylum. We all have our roles to play with the plans for improvement" She adds, mindful to subtly push the cause since the purpose of the evening was to raise money.
Iris and Nat playing doctor was not a mental image Joan had needed, how fortunate she could focus on the following question instead. Personal questions almost always brought a small pause as Joan considered the best response. Usually it was thinking of the best way to turn things back on to focus with a patient but this time it was for a bit of maths to figure out how long it had been since she'd last properly dated and then the quick decision that she really didn't want to tell anyone that number. Joan smiled to hide the discomfort "Despite the persistent efforts of my neighbour to talk me into various blind dates it's just me for the night"
The menus took Joan by surprise but it barely showed as she calmly studied it for a moment before selecting her desired meal "I'll almost be surprised if the waiters aren't robots too" she jokes, she can already see a few and they look human enough "I wonder how much this all cost to put together"
