Tom smiled at Huntress and regretted someone would be sitting between them. This was possibly the first time her given name was revealed to him, but he felt that it suited her. As Helena, settled into her chair, he continued to watch her, it was nice to have a few uninterrupted moments, “You look lovely.” He purred to her as he leaned down into a small, friendly hug. He ended up placing a peck on her cheek, it was still friendly, and he was at least resisting giving in to licking her neck again.
As Tom was returning to his seat he was suddenly verbally pinned into place as someone asked if he knew him. Tom had his share of run ins with the law, and Selina had warned him that Bullock was a detective. He stared ahead and then shrugged as nonchalantly as he could, hoping that this man didn’t want to delve too deeply into the identity of the Catman. “Maybe. I grew up here in Gotham, just got back. You may be thinking of my father though, Reese Blake.” Yea, that’ll win you some friends, mention the alcoholic violent dead father who set you up to take the fall for your mother’s death, smart Tom-cat. Tom ignored his inner voice and stood for a few moments before taking his seat. He continued to look over at Helena, trying to think of what to say while not giving away too much to about themselves. Though he was certain no one could mistake the chemistry between the Thomas and Helena. At least, he was hoping this was good, but he didn’t really have a lot of experience in good things.
Another person came up. A red head, he’d seen on before…Oh right, a reported. He sat down and nodded as politely as he could muster. “Yes, it’s a pleasure, Ms. Gleeson.” She turned her attention to Helena, making sure to remind him that she was sitting between him and the woman he coveted. He tried to look over the woman’s shoulder to see if he needed to save Helena, but could feel the metaphorical meatball whizzing into his head if he attempted to. He then turned to look to his target, and now his dinner companion, Harvey Bullock. He shrugged a bit and leaned into his chair, offering the man a small consolation of sympathy. “Oh, I’m sure she’s reveling in watching this all from her mighty perch.” Her retorted his response to Summer’s observation. Oh yea, Selina was a devilish woman, and the black cat had crossed all these paths, and this was the result of her wake. He’d have to thank her for this, but he’d have to give her a talking to about springing things on him. He may be a cat himself and able to land on his own feet, but he was not very confident in his footing yet.
And then the real show began. He hung his head slightly, shaking it from side to side as his red hair bounced. He looked up, the Riddler. Or was it just Eddie? Either way, he didn’t like the man. He’d never personally encountered him, but mercenary work and one’s personal pleasures and vendettas rarely left time for socializing with Gotham’s rank and file. But he knew the man was full of himself. He craned his head back to look at Helena’s reaction. She probably wasn’t very pleased, someone who considered themselves this damned town’s protector would be very annoyed to say the least. And Helena was Italian, hopefully she’d reign it in. He crossed his arms over his chest and just continued to watch everything around him unfold. He may have to break up a fight if this guy keeps wagging his tongue. This would be an interesting night.

Harvey smirked around the table, it turned to a grin over a few seconds. He looked exceedingly pleased about whatever all was conspiring and linking together before him.
Man, this whole table hates me so far, save Blake. Ah, merry Christmas, Harv.
Harvey settled into a smirk again and picked up his drink looking over at Nigma while taking a swig of amber liquid. He swirled the drink by setting the glass back and forth. He glanced down to it for a second before looking to Nigma and the woman with him again.
"I don't remember spilling a drink, and if I apparently did, then send the dress to me later, I'll take care of it. Least I don't assault people at these shindigs."
Harvey looked over to Summer with a protective eye hidden behind a liquored smirk. He looked to Blake with a sideways smile.
"It'll be a night full of somethin' fierce, Blake."
When Vicki Vale walked by he put his hand over hers on his shoulder.
"How's it all hangin' on ya, Vic?"
Eventually he rounded his attention to Helena with a polite smile and nod. Harvey could feel a little sympathy for someone born into a family like hers. Harvey could understand thetension.
"Miss Bertinelli, nice to see you out and about."
Harvey leaned back in his chair with a satisfied look on his face. He was doing so well at being simultaneously charming and belligerent. He clicked his tongue and raised his glass.
"She loves you, she hates you, she burns your clothes and then she loves you again right before she knocks you out with a frying pan, but ain't nobody like her."
Gotham.

Lola had just gotten comfortable with her Puffin, mingling and reminiscing with the guests. Ozzy had filled her in on most of the people in the room and she was delighted on each one. At least now if they came up to her she could pretend like she’s lived here her whole life. Still, she expected to remain judged by most of them just because of who she was with. But she didn’t care what they thought, for the most part. As long as she remained high class and the conversations were polite and cheery she would be fine.
She stayed close to Ozzy as they were brought into the next part of the Gala. The rocky edges and Earth tones again took her breath away. She whispered sweet things to Ozzy’s ear about the décor and things she observed as they walked to the seating area.
When they arrived at their table she saw her name printed next to Ozzy’s. A woman was already seated to the other side of her. She glanced at the card and noted that her name was Vicki. The name seemed familiar, like she had heard it a lot distantly but never quite paid attention to where. Once they sat down everything would come to a better light regardless. The other two at the table seemed to be a bit more colorful and loud. They already seemed to know one another.
Lola sat down politely with the grace of Ozzy’s hand to help her sit. She straightened herself in her chair and smiled at the other guests. Since it was at a table and there was already a seated setting it was appropriate for her to introduce herself instead of being introduced. “Hello, My name is Lola…And you all are?” She asked as politely as she could without interrupting conversation.

Diana gave Bivins her hand, grasping his in a firm handshake. As they engaged in conversation, the Amazon Princess had trouble pulling her gaze from the detective’s mesmerizing eyes. She was utterly fascinated by his rambling, too, and she wondered if he was just nervous about being in her presence or if he was like that all the time. His words and antics made her smile and laugh out loud.
“The fates have been kind to me this evening,” she told Bivins as she sipped her wine. “They have sent you my way to help me relax. Thank you, Bivins.”
Suddenly, an announcement was made for everyone to gather for dinner in the dining area. Diana looked for Bruce, but she couldn’t find him because of the crowd of people that was moving like a herd of cattle toward the cusp of the earth and air atmospheres. “We’d better find our way, too,” she said reluctantly, gently touching Bivins’ elbow. “Will you be here all evening, Bivins? I would enjoy your company later. Perhaps I could save you a dance?”
Waiting for his response, Diana started feeling uneasy again.

Spotting Barbara coming through the crowd, Charlotte smiles for a moment, but as the other teen approaches the smile is slowly exchanged for a frown. "Are you drunk?" she accuses, the disapproval and disgust clear in her expression. Though she may not be very experienced in the consumption of alcohol herself, she's certainly been around it enough to see the signs, even if the half-empty champagne glass wasn't enough of a clue. And she has rather strong opinions about it - while she doesn't really have any firm ideas one way or another about people drinking a glass or two, people who drink a lot are just... unpleasant to have to deal with. The fact that she knows full well that Barbara shouldn't have had any only makes it worse. Cue the lowering of her opinion of her fellow teen by several pegs...
She doesn't have much time to dwell on that before the comment from another young woman approaching the table prompts a look and then a scowl. "Excuse you!" she replies, clearly offended by the 'kiddie table' remark. And the fact that the young woman proceeds to change the seating arrangements, ignore them, and has apparently mistaken her breasts for a pocket (ew!) only lowers her first impression of her further. Turning her attention toward the drunk, she pretends to whisper even though she's intentionally loud enough for the blonde to catch her words as she says, "Hey, Barbara - check out the bimbo."

Helena had appreciated the quiet moments that she had with a familiar face. Granted, it was someone she had met in a similar situation, and this almost felt like déjà vu. She too was feeling as if Selina had planned all of this.
As Summer accosted her with what seemed like a come on or some sort of distraction, Helena still couldn’t believe it. She titled her head to side, a rather confused but flatter look in her blue eyes. “Oh…wow..” She couldn’t help that moment of unbelief. She was after all just a substitute right now. She only had one regular class last semester and that was because she had to fill in for a teacher who had gotten herself pregnant. She remember that baby shower. She had never felt so awkward in her life, well until tonight.
She pushed some dark strands behind her ear and smiled politely at Bullock. “It’s nice to be out, Detective.” Even though they were on the same side, she still couldn’t help but feel that personal vendetta feeling. She was hoping her face didn’t Bely the awkward feeling of hating cops she had. “Selina really has one hell of a sense of humor.” She tried to keep it polite but she couldn’t help but sound slightly annoyed at this situation. Sure there was the bright spot of Thomas being here, but she still didn’t understand their relationship. He put too much confusion in her head.
Her head jolted out of her personal space as she heard the rather rude sounds coming from the woman who apparently had no idea how a person was supposed to act in these situations. And they say I’m the one who needs to learn self-control. She mused but remained quiet as she watched the scene unfold. She knew Edward’s face. She had to control herself. She knew him and what kind of sick and twisted individual he thought he was. She sighed and then looked over to Thomas, realizing he was looking to her. Was he waiting for her to jump up and hit someone? She could almost be insulted by the thought that he was thinking that. She set her arms on the table and leaned in a bit as she smiled at the situation. “I deal with pre-teens all day, and so far, this party,” She motioned with her finger, indicating the table, "is making me miss those hormone filled pains."

When Vicki finally found Rowdy, she took the empty seat next to him. When she saw Ethan’s name, she grabbed the tent and crumbled it in her tight fist. Then she smiled and introduced herself to Rooster Stone. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” she said, standing and reaching to shake her hand.
Sitting down again, Vicki noticed Oswald Cobblepot and Lola Marks approaching the table. She smiled demurely as the couple took their seats. After Lola introduced herself, Vicki turned and offered her hand. “I’m Vicki Vale,” she greeted. “It’s nice to meet you, Lola. You look lovely tonight, my dear .”
Then Vicki offered her hand to Oswald. “Hello, Mr. Cobblepot. I hope you and Lola are enjoying yourselves this evening. Lex Luthor and Selina Kyle certainly know how to throw a party, don’t they?”
As she got comfortable in her chair, Vicki thought about Lex and hoped he would make the time to dance with her later. She knew being in his arms for even just a few minutes would make her feel better about losing Ethan.

When Vicki got to the table, Rowdy stood and greeted her with a kiss on the temple. Then, as Vicki introduced herself to Rooster, his eyes beheld the beautiful Lola Marks walking with Oswald Cobblepot in the distance. Watching her whisper in Oswald’s ear, Rowdy began lusting for her and entertained inappropriate thoughts of sleeping with her. He undressed her with his eyes and used his vivid imagination to picture her in her birthday suit instead of an evening gown. She was a dream come true.
To Rowdy’s surprise, his dream was closing the distance and becoming a reality -- literally!
She’s coming this way! Oh, shit!
Lola’s radiant smile melted Rowdy almost instantly. Thank God Vicki was inbetween them! Despite Oswald’s presence, Rowdy felt like taking Lola in his arms and kissing her right then and there. It took his entire being to practice restraint. Rowdy’s spine tingled when Lola introduced herself. Flashing his sexiest smile, Rowdy stood and offered his hand to her.
“Hello, Lola. I’m Rowdy Yates. For a moment, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Now I see that I am very much alive, and heaven has been brought to me.”
He eyed Lola sheepishly and completely ignored Oswald and the others seated at the table.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Lola.”

Bivins had been distracted by the spread, he'd been distracted by the Amazonian princess. "A dance . . . um . . sure! Why not? Yeah! Dance would be great! Um. . . and er, likewise! I mean I'll be here until they throw me out. You know what they call me. . . um . . . Bivins. Life of the party, right? No, they actually just call me Bivins, usually preceded with obscenities. . . I got issues. Anyway, um. . . yeah, dance. I don't know how, and I think you might be able to crush my skull with your elbow, but that's sexy."
Holy crap? That line WORKED on her? How the Sweet Christmas did THAT happen. Sure, why not? She could crush him with her thighs but that wasn't a bad thing. He heard online that she liked BDSM or something, Reddit had a long thing about that, but Bivins wasn't sure he believed it. Besides, who would tie her up to know?
He was distracted by the setup here. He knew when he was in over his head, and this was probably a place for it. He had been surprised in the middle of a conversation with another young lady, when she slipped away and walked to the altercation with Eddie Nigma and Roy Harper. . . Ed Nigma. . . E. Nigma. . . huh, what a stupid name. Anyway, Bivins noticed a lot of people in the crowd going to the altercation, and part of him wondered whether or not everyone at the party was paid staff. Maybe it was like a Truman Party, and he was the only one actually invited here, everyone else being paid and part of the act. THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE! But why him? Yeah, that doesn't make much sense. Maybe he was on staff too and it was really for someone else. Obviously the acrobats were ninja assassins, that was the only thing that made sense.
He made his way to the table, happy to see Montoya and Babs there. At least he knew people. HE sat down next to Barbara, where his nametag was. "Heya Babs, how ya doin? I been looking over this new video of Batgirl, I sent it to ya on accounts of ya liking the last one I was watching. So whatdya think of all this?"
He smiles at Charlotte and says "And heya short stuff, how's you?" He looked at the setup here at the table. Huh, really quite the spread. He shrugged, then looked at Piper. "And Mayor's daughter girl, cool, get to be on my best behavior tonight so I don't get fired. Why the hell do I have a name tag? I ain't no one." He shrugs and figures it's cause he goes drinking with Selina. Well, went drinking with Selina. . . once. . . twice. Maybe more? He doesn't remember drinking much.
"Oooh, little cheeses. I hope they have those little cheeses. I love little cheeses, they're like little protein things in a . . . little cheese." He shrugs and then looks for a menu.

Saved from further arguments by the announcement of dinner Oswald was somewhat pleased to avoid any escalation. A small nod was offered to Edward before he joined the crowd heading to the tables "Do try and keep out of trouble"
His attention returned once more to Lola as a waiter was drafted into showing them to their seats because Oswald refused to wander around looking at name cards. As soon as he approached the table he began identifying those who had already taken their seats and noting who was still missing as he lent a hand to Lola while she took her seat.
"Miss Stone, such an unexpected surprise to share a table. I imagine dinner is bound to be somewhat interesting" He commented as he settled into his own chair, a polite nod going to the woman. He was already wondering if Selina had ulterior motives with the seating chart and almost wished he'd thought to request a lack of reporters at dinner when he saw Vicki was going to be joining them. He faked politeness as always though and shook her hand "Miss Vale, a pleasure. None could deny the splendid job done with the Gala, I'm certain it will be the new standard to compare parties to in the future and I predict many will fail to match up to it's standards" He had nothing personally against the woman currently, he simply hated her job. One reporter sticking their nose too far into his business could ruin him.
It's not until Rowdy speaks to Lola though that Oswald really pays attention to the other man "My, what a way with words. Perhaps there will be some competition to this auction after all, assuming a silver tongue is not all you possess" It's things like this that makes Oswald consider buying Lola diamonds worth the cost.

After the commotion and apparently abrupt, resolve? Thank X'hal, it didn't truly land Roy getting kicked out. That certainly would have thrown a bummer in the mix. Starfire was mostly convinced he was, ok. He was vastly calm, which was either a good thing or a not so good thing, but she doubled checked there was no additional grabbing of unlabelled bottles. With a subtle sigh and simple smile to Dick. She really wasn't going to play babysitter to Roy, but it was natural for her to be concerned. To be protective of her friends. Even though it was maybe a little questionable how Starfire was friends with Roy Harper, but dating Dick Grayson probably solved that… A little… A golden hand instinctually slipped down to Dick's, though as green eyes followed the crowd making their way to the Earth section. Kory led momentarily to one of the bars. To refill on a refreshment for the dinner… Least she assumed that was what happening. This place was so overly grand. Magic. Even out of her world, anything and perhaps everything was going to happen. Gracefully dodging through the path to the bar. Placing her glass of shrimp down. Before taking the mental time to decide on what drink she wanted. Simple. Sweet. Fresh. Seemed the go.
"Can I have a lemonade, please?"
Kory asked the friendly bartender, politely and with the right amount of bubbles. Casually rested an elbow on the bar as she waited, before she could almost feel Dick's arm swoop around the lower part of her waist. Brushing ever so gently against her side. Just enough for the shiver, the gasp and mild giggle. He knew exactly how ticklish she could be. As Kory turned a little on her heel, hopefully in his general direction, if not even turning right into him. As if she needed a reminder, they had the night together. More importantly an open date. No glasses. No disguises. Not that it truly mattered, but it was nicer this way. A playful golden hand motioned up his torso. Tracing the fine lines of his muscles. His torso, hmmm the very trace of Nightwing, but she wasn't about to go screaming from the top of her lungs, least not now. He really did look good in a suit, as rare as it was, he also looked way better without it. With playful smiles and moved her hand to his chin, before motioning for a kiss. Though he was more shy, could he truly say no to a little PDA. Kory simply didn't care who knew, if she was being honest. Dropping her lips, left with swell from his aroma. His cologne, Kory had to guess, taken from the curve of his neck.
"What are you wearing? You smell good!"
Kory asked muffled and deep from the back of her throat. Green eyes flashed to his, playfully. Little fact, tamaraneans had a heightened sense of smell than humans, and right now it was certainly on overdrive. A her fingers danced a little at his neck. His collar. Catching perhaps the faint traces of mark… A burn mark? As her fingers motioned to pull back his collar, to perhaps get a better look. Tracing a gentle finger over the mark, that was almost perhaps a little red. With the subtle feeling in her gut, she didn't think she needed to guess on the how. With the gentle frown on her face, with faint trace of apology. There couldn't be any regret, X'hal knew it probably wouldn't be the last… As the bartender broke her little trance with her lemonade now present on the bar. Gentle motioned Dick's collar back, as her hand motioned to the glass of lemonade.
"And maybe a glass of ice as well, please?"
Kory suggested and asked, as her eyes glanced simply to Dick. With the glimmer of innocence. Hurting him was certainly not her wish, but the minor seemed the price for passion. Wasn't that the point, letting go and being in the moment. Of course attending to him with ice, certainly wasn't a bad perk… Soon after with lemonade and ice. Kory walked in direction toward the Earth section of the Gala. There was certainly a little disappointment leaving the Fire section. The warmth. The dance floor, but they could certainly come back for that. Though perked up for sure to check out the earth section. This place utterly breathtaking. As she kept close to Dick, hopefully for most of the night if she could help it… Woah! X'hal! Almost speechless as it wasn't long at all before they were present within the earthy area. The rocky walls. The beautiful wood floor. The view… Again the view, as Kory had naturally stepped a little towards it. As her eyes captured the surrounding plants. The greenery… It was outer of this world, but there was also a familiar touch. As a subtle tear of joy was caught in the corner of Starfire's eye. Catching it ever so subtly and openly. Before turning towards the table Roy now sat at. Soon catching their names. Starfire. Dick Grayson. This seemed to be where the party table was going to be at. Oh and right in perfect view of the ocean… This was perfect. It was also rather cave like. What Bat's cave would be like if he let a little a light in, but then that would defeat the purpose, Starfire was sure. The only thing this view was missing was the cascading of a waterfall, but there was certainly almost an echo. As soon Starfire took a seat at the fancy table, placed the glasses down. Before of course showcasing another friendly wave at Diana at one of the next tables. There was certainly a little disappointment not sitting on the same table. There were defiantly, tales. To be told. To be shared. All really was missing, were a few extra familiar faces, but that certainly be at a later date. At another night out. Or even lunch out. With time not always on a hero's side, it certainly came down to when you could, but Starfire would certainly always try. She was never just a hero. Always more. As of course one could note the eyes here and there on her, but she didn't take great notice, save with a friendly smile. Wasn't like she wasn't used to it…
"This Gala really is beautiful… I wonder what kind of food they'll serve… Isn't that..? I still don't understand how you earthlings show such mercy to your enemies; but is it a usual custom, to have dinner with them?"
Sweetly and kindly Starfire commented. As a golden hand motioned to the cloth napkin, laying it out over her otherwise sparkly green lap. Asking openly and curious. As her eyes traced for perhaps a menu. Although she wasn't overly picky, but she imagined there be some kind of choosing involved. She was probably gonna keep it light, but enough energy for the dancing, as well as for the rest of the night. One could never really know where it would take you and usually Starfire just went with it, if she didn't just grasp it herself. Her green eyes caught glimpse of the Riddler on a table some distance, as she asked. He wasn't entirely an enemy of Starfire. One couldn't say they've faced off, but it was so weird on this planet to show mercy, let along kindness to the foe. Of course she was trained to avoid the fight, because a tamaranean generally fought to the death, something of course she had learnt to restrain and learnt she couldn't stay on this planet freely if she did kill. It was bad for a human to do it, but even more for an outsider… Dinner certainly seemed even stranger, unless of course some treaty was happening, but that really didn't even seem to be remotely happening. Suppose there was safety in knowing the room was filled with heroes as well as villains, but somewhere this seemed a beginning of a very strange tale.

'Come find me later?' There was an almost guarantee if Roy was remaining at the Gala, heck even if he was getting out. He'd make sure whenever and however he found Summer, she was in one piece. Safe. Though he could certainly try and save his ass, which almost seemed to have been saved, it was hard to tell when speaking to an almost brick wall on recall, but so long as Summer's perfect, was saved. It was all in a night's work. He wasn't just about to tuck his tail between his legs, perhaps he had acted rash, but there was little room he could regret it. Hey, rather act and do something, only to find out it didn't need acting on, then simply sit on the sidelines. That seriously what was wrong with this world sometimes. The bystanders syndrome. After a little whispering between allies. Roy seemed all clear? He certainly took the first few steps towards the Earth section carefully. For some weird reason, many seem to think he was some big burly dude. He was pretty sure if the security was gonna jump him, they were gonna jump him. He hardly needed strength anyway if he truly wanted to escape. Wasn't like he didn't have a weapon always up his sleeve. With a little tug at his blazer and brush of his sleeves. Check book back in its safety spot. Yeah, it was questionable if he was gonna get his head strung for that, but never underestimate it… Leaving the rather infamous red room. Perhaps it was just, that the fight took place in such a beautifully coloured room. Of course, he was just Roy Harper. Arsenal was either tucked firmly in bed or he was living it up in the city or bunker… Yeah, most likely the bunker. Playing his favourite game. I spy… 'Would you like another drink, sir?' Came the delicate voice. Smooth swift in the smile and of course with sparkly bubblies upon the fancy tray. Someone was truly testing him right now… Although it was usually his taste, as his hand did not linger. It certainly would ease some edge or create a totally new one… Wasn't that half the fun, to find out what side you land on. If at all. Sometimes it was a mystery how your woke up in another town, with no fucking clue how you got there… He was still a little baffled… But, his hand motioned to something more virgin, which certainly was a joke and even though when he encountered something more virgin, it was generally brought with a little more fun…. Better than nothing. With a suave smile, yeah Roy can do suave, almost as good. Wasn't long until weaving through the tables, thankfully seeing clearly could clearly see his name marked… Sweet, for a moment he had thought he would have seen it crunched up and thrown on the floor. Strangely wouldn't be the first time…. Nor the last, he was sure.
"Princess? You brought me ice, you shouldn't have… Just, how worried are you?"
Came the rather curious question with the rather curious raise of his dark brow, as Starfire and Dick came to the table. Took seat and Roy found a glass of ice before him. Naturally he assumed they were him. He learnt long ago to be open minded with the tamaranean. As his hand motioned to the glass, took a cube or two and popped them in his drink. Though as he motioned for more, Starfire slapped his hand gently although with her, you usually feel something. Ah, of course they were for Dick? Right? As Starfire motioned the glass in that general direction. At this point it was better not to ask. Taking a sip of his virgin, less than fun drink, but it was going to keep him walking a straighter line. With just the natural straying. Straying was bound to happen either way… Placed the glass calmly down as his eyes motioned in direction Starfire had suggested. The suited man lacking in relevance it would seem. There was certainly a few hairs standing up that Summer was also there. There was certainly something messed up about that, but perhaps the fact a cop was there, would keep things in check… Looking at the space. The tables. Certainly wasn't out of his element. Hmmm, then there was always the matter of a ticking clock. As Roy sat calmly, despite whether or not this truly sat well with him, but he was gonna roll with it… For now!
"Yeah… Apparently… Its kinda feeling like a episode of game of thrones. Where you know there is a good chance, someone is gonna leave this place minus a head."
Roy jested lightly. A set up! You the fuck knows, but he was almost sure it wasn't going to her head and if he can help it his own. Roy was mostly passed having a death wish, but who really could know how pass the edge he was right now. Just how fine he could and would be. He was at the very least trying his fucking hardest.

It wasn't long wait until Zahira had her new drink at hand, but still with the minor stain on her dress, although it was possible it would dry clean, right? Zahira couldn't really be sure. As her fingers fumble tried to clean it more. Wasn't big thankfully, not that people tended to notice her anyway. Her dark eyes mildly drew back to Rowdy. Who she had met. Known his name, but she truly couldn't say she knew him. He defiantly didn't know her… Vicki? Zahira questioned with a slight confused look to her eyes. Was he asking her. As she looked around. He was either asking her or himself, for she couldn't say she had single clue who he was talking about. Looking the many women in the Gala, Zahira could simply guess. As Zahira simply shrugged her shoulders, with a subtle mouthed of sorry. Assuming this Vicki was a friend? She was sure if she was here, he'd have more success in finding her. Zahira stirred her drink gently, before hearing the shifting of Rowdy's chair, sliding against the floor with a rapid movement. Determination! That usually was key in finding someone… Of course also a scent helped, from time to time. She smiled subtly, perhaps expecting just the simply, see you later. Wasn't that the casual line in this part of the world… No, apparently not. As she felt her space not only breached, but almost like the shadows crashing into her. Feeling herself limb. Numb as he motioned to hug her. Zahira barely returned it, if at all… Moved her head instinctually a way, though it seemed to not have worked in her favour as he kissed her on her cheek. With his words thats followed. Her cheeks coloured and she offered a simple smile in response n a subtle nod. With those actions. Words. He was trying to hard. To be charming. To perhaps make her comfort, it didn't quite do that. Not yet. It had little to do with who he was. "We'll see!" Zahira responded, but perhaps to the empty space, as he was already gone. Leaving Zahira at the bar.
Dark eyes caught the flow of the crowd to the dining area or otherwise known as the Earth section she would discover. Though after leaving her seat. Zahira made a pit stop at one of the restrooms. Perhaps get a little more out of her dress, until she was left with a subtle reminder. It was just gonna have to do, after a little check in the mirror. With the mild chatter of ladies in the bathroom, with attention elsewhere. Fixing their hair and god knows what else. Zahira left before she could find out. She never really was the kind to ever have a' girl-friend' or even a friend for that matter. Usually it was just her. Her and her shadow. As Zahira took it now in her stride. Following the flock through the fire section. Feeling the last feels of the deep warmth of the closing fire. Zahira was already missing it, but thankfully as she soon entered the Earth section, it wasn't too cold it was unbearable, but Zahira defiantly felt a little chill to her fingertips. As rubbed them a little at her chest, whilst looking at the varies names on one of the boards for the table. Scrolling down until Zahira spotted her name. She was half expecting she'd be seated with her co-workers, but apparently not. Rowdy…. Vicki… Well, hopefully this means he found her. And from the sounds, Zahira was gonna find out for herself. Zahira then made her way to the table, after a little stop and chat by a fellow male co-worker. Zahira then was met with mostly unfamiliar faces, save one really. Brilliant. "Hi everyone… I'm Zahira!" Zahira greeted the table of the many faces with subtle wave, a friendly smile, not awkward at all. So out of her element, but Zahira certainly remained calm despite her natural timid nature. Taking her seat, with just the subtle shift so her dress didn't get caught. Her dark eyes scanned a little at the faces, but didn't linger, before catching a little more of the Earth atmosphere, it was quite lovely. View was pretty something. Before eyes brought back to the table and the almost rows of cutlery. So goes the days of using hands. As a dark hand straightened one of the forks her elbow had shifted a little. Before a hand simply went to her glass in front of her and took a sip. Before replacing it back down.

Vicki smiled as Oswald shook her hand. “May I quote you on that, Mr. Cobblepot?” she asked playfully. She was being serious though. Then she noticed Rowdy still standing and in a stupor as he fondled Lola’s hand. “You can let go of her hand now, Rowdy,” she whispered to him repeatedly. When he didn’t respond to the third time, she kept her composure and kicked him hard under the table.
WHAM!
“OW!” Rowdy squealed, dropping Lola’s hand and falling into his chair. He rubbed the side of his leg and gave Vicki a “what-did-I-do-to-deserve-that?” look.
Just then, Vicki’s eyes widened when she saw Zahira approaching the table. “Who is THAT?” she asked Rowdy, bringing attention to the exotic beauty. “She’s absolutely gorgeous!”
“Oh, that’s Zahira,” Rowdy replied nonchalantly, after turning his head to see who it was. “She’s a curator at the museum. She’s the one who gave me that neat Egyptian T-shirt. It’s my favorite, y’know.”
When Zahira reached the table and introduced herself, Vicki stood and issued a warm welcome. “Zahira, it’s so nice to meet you. Rowdy has told me so much about you. I finally get to put a face with a name. And what a beautiful face it is! I’m so glad we’ll be eating dinner together. Welcome.”
Rowdy stood and helped Zahira take her seat. Then he sat back down and shot Vicki another glare. The sight of Lola beside her tempered his anger though, and a second later he was smiling once again. Taking in Zahira, Rooster, Lola, and Vicki with a sweeping glance, he beamed from ear to ear.
“All this beauty at one table -- I can’t believe it, Mr. Cobblepot!” he exclaimed, winking at the man.

Joan was still trying to find her place in the party when the call to dinner had been announced. she'd managed to get her hands on a stiff drink and with that to help she'd joined the outer edge of a group talking but the conversation quickly became just noise with all the people coming and going around her. The asylum was so much more controlled and quiet, assuming you didn't count the shouts and screams of patients. Even when she'd had time for parties this wasn't the kind Joan would have gone to but slowly she started to relax as nothing immediately went wrong. If anything was going to explode it wasn't in the first few minutes.
Food was welcome, had she found a table of snacks she'd probably have already taken advantage of it so she joined the crowds in filing into the Earth room, slowing to take in the decorations. It was hard to take it all in without staring a bit but eventually her eyes returned down to the tables and Joan went in search of her seat.
When she finally found it she had to walk by a second time just to double check, she wasn't quite sure how she felt spotting Iris and Nathanial would also be seated at the table but were currently absent but already a few others had taken their seats. Dick Grayson she recognised from the papers and Starfire was hard to miss. Roy she didn't know but for all she wasn't overly familiar with the fancy parties strangers didn't worry her any more than anyone else, though they did seem mid-conversation.
She put on a smile for the others as she took the plunge and finally approached "Well it looks like this is me, don't let me interrupt" she said as she pulled out her chair to take a seat.
