"Make it four, Bobby. A fifth if you want to join us," Selina said with a glimmer in her eye. If Summer was going to do shots, they all were. "And yes, I'm serious. It's not like I smoke a pack a day." Shaking her head she shrugged, taking a puff and blowing the smoke away from them all.
Flicking the ash into one of the trays on the bar, she caught the banter between Bobby and Beretta, almost choking on her drink as the bartender vollied back. The looks Summer was giving him weren't bad, either. Maybe a southern boy would be good for her.
Winking as Summer freaked out about the 'mom' comment, she was just as shocked as what Theo said to her. Sadly, he was not wearing a tie, so she grabbed the front of his shirt, and tugged him close. "Are you threatening me, Detective? Because I have all night. Liquor is flowing, and the dance floor is right behind us." She winked at him in kind.
Releasing her grip on his shirt, she turned back to Summer. "He always calls me that. He has for years." It seemed that there were shots lined up for them. Shrugging off the shock on her friend's face, she leaned in, and whispered to her, "Seriously, what?" Before standing up straight.

Rooster chuckled a bit and looked over to one of her bar backs. "GEORGE! Grab Sir Vaughan for me, wouldja? You know where he is." The young man, blonde probably in his early twenties and built even bigger than Harvey nodded to her and took off somewhere. Bobby smiled to everyone and lined up ten shot glasses and began making shots. Five were layered, dark green, lighter green and then dark green again. The remaining five were layered red, blue, white. He set the green ones on the bar first. Rooster looked awful pleased. "Oh Bobby, you sure you ain't my spirit guide?" "Nah, I'm just yer right hand, ma'am."Rooster gave him a wink and lifted her shot. Bobby lifted his."Alright ladies and gent, this here is called Sex With and Alligator, though in some parts they call it a Sexy Alligator. This one we'll toast to Lousiana, that's where I learned to make it. To the most crooked state in the union, y'all."Bobby and Rooster both lifted their glasses with the others and downed the shots after tapping them on the bar top first. The shot was Jaegermeister, Melon liquer, and then another layer of Jaeger. For the next shot Bobby dropped little yellow lemon flavored gummy stars that floated on top."Now this one, I just made it up last night. Figure I'll call it the Lone Star Shot. So to where the stars at night are big and bright-"
Rooster and Bobby downed theirs lightning fast and both threw their shot glasses to the ground shattering them. They both clapped three times smiling.
"Deep in the heart of Texas!" the sang in unison. Bobby reached up to a bell above his head and rang the shit out of it. People through the bar and rest of the club made made shouts and woos at the sound of glass breaking and the bell ringing. "Well, hell, y'all. Bobby, you know what time it is?" "Tulsa Time?"
"Hell no, Oklahoma can go to hell."
"Ah, then it's time for a flood ain't it, Boss?"
"You're a smart man, Bobby."
"Mmm, I didn't need to be reminded, but thank'a much ma'am."
George returned holding a 1959 Fender Stratocaster with a slab rosewood fingerboard, just like SRV used to play. Rooster smiled to the bar.
"Why'on't you go play some Texas Flood for me, beau." The young man's eyes widened. "Really?"
"You think you can hack it?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Then get to it. I heard you playin' it the other day, get it done, bo."
The young man hesitated but eventually moseyed over to the stage. The house band was getting ready to go when George walked up. He spoke with them momentarily and they nodded, knowing what needed to happen. George turned to the lead mic and got himself plugged in and soon the room filled with the flood. And the kid delivered, very well.

Harvey watched everyone exchanging with one another, most notably Rooster and her little underboss, Mr. Amazing-At-Making-All-The-Good-Shots-Ever. He looked at Selina when she grabbed his collar.
"You better get more liquor in me if you want to cut some rug, baby."
Harvey looked at the shot he was given. He'd heard of this before from an old contact from New Orleans. He took the shot and tapped the bar top as well with it before downing it. He set the empty glass down and then another was given to him. He gave a respectful nod to the toast, tapped it, and downed it. It tasted like cinnamon liquer, milk, and the blue layer tasted foreign to him. After downing it he thought for a moment.
"Wow, tastes like... a very liquored up pie."
He chewed on the gummy and then swallowed it. He then listened and watched more between Rooster and Bobby and then the kid. He leaned against the bar once the kid started playing and watched and listened. After a minute Harvey shook his head.
"How old is he? 19? He's a friggin' brick house. What the hell is that kid doin' bar backin'? He's friggin Paul Bunyun with a Fender for an axe."

Summer was more than prepared to down a couple of shots, though she didn’t seem to be as accustomed to drinking as the rest of the group. She smiled at colorful concoctions in each of the glasses, taking her turn to grab the one designated for her and listened to the explanation. Sex with an Alligator? Goodness, she wasn’t in Kansas anymore. Still, she followed the rest and took the shot like a champ, only wincing slightly as the bold taste of the jager. The rest of the group seemed to bounce back fast, already prepared to take another round when she had only recently finished with her first.
Only having a second to brace herself before taking the second shot, she didn’t bother to chew the small fruit gummy and had accidently swallowed it whole. This one was much better than the first in her opinion, but before she could express her opinion the sound of glass shattering caused her to jump and a small shriek to fall from her lips. This certainly was not something that she was used too. Avoiding the glass, she watched yet another almost awkward exchange between Harvey and Selina. Finally, she couldn’t take it.
“Let’s go to the bathroom. I need to fix my make-up and I am not exactly sure where it is.” She played it off casually, but clearly there was something unsaid that Summer needed a bit of closure on.

The shots were fantastic to watch being assembled. "Mhm." Was all she gave to Theo, releasing him as everyone sort of did their own thing for a bit. Green layered upon green, and something rather patriotic. She was becoming more and more impressed with Beretta's establishment.
In turn she shot both drinks down, eyes closing as she relished not only the burn, but the concoction each held. A wink and a smile were given to Bobby as she requested two more of whatever was in that green one. First of the two was shot when the blonde kid came around. She tried not to gape, but he was something. Bigger than the Bull. It seemed the last time Beretta had been playing, and now this. It was a special sort of heaven. She was swept up by the music for a bit until Summer called to her attention.
"You can't find your makeup, or the bathroom?" Teasing her friend she grabbed her hand, leading her away from the bar and meandering to the ladies' room. They'd barely been there a half hour, and Summer was already fretting over her eyeshadow? Eh, she was young.
Heels clicking, she went to look at her own hair and face in the mirror. "You look fantastic. Fretting about impressing the blonde with the guitar?" She grinned at the redhead, curious if she was angling for the blonde, or Bobby.

Rooster watched the ladies head off. Bobby looked at them with a smile, careful not to eavesdrop nor try to determine exactly why they needed to head to the ladies' room. Rooster just eyed Bullock and then the women as they walked off. She looked over to Harvey and leaned against the bar beside him, watching George play his little heart out.
"He just turned twenty two a few days ago, Detective. He does more than bar back for me. He's a hell of a welder and metal worker. His daddy was a steel mill worker and he tinkers buildin' metal sculpture. I saw his work and hired him. He is well paid for all he does."
Rooster folded her as and continued watching the young man while Bobby moved off to continue serving other patrons.

Harvey shook his head after Selina and Summer headed off, looking over to Rooster as she answered him.
"Well, I sure hope he ain't gonna be bar backin' for too long. Kid that big and that talented... He could be in pictures."
He turned back to the bar and picked his drink back up and took a swig for keeps. He reached into his jacket to retrieve his cigarettes and lighter. He lit one and looked to Rooster.
"Why do women insist on going to bathrooms together?"

Summer was beginning to think that she might not be able to keep up with this experienced group of individuals. Each seemed to down the shots much easier than she, being the last to finally have the contents of the last slide down her throat. Smiling, but ignoring her dear friends comment as Selina teased her, she was relieved when the woman agreed to go to the bathroom with her, leaving the other two temporarily behind. “Be right back!” Grabbing her clutch, she hurried with Selina to the bathroom.
Walking up to one of the sinks, she only briefly focused on her appearance before turning to face her friend. “I know, that was just a cover-up to get you alone.” Summer began. “I’m not that vain.” She smirked; fully aware that was not the case at all. Even though she had only looked in the mirror a matter of minutes ago she still took the opportunity to do so now. Wrinkling her nose about her comment about the kid with the guitar, she couldn’t help but giggle at the comment, assuming her friend was only teasing. “Ew no! I mean, he's talented but he looks half my age.”
Deciding to finally address the real concerning matter, she turned the topic to the inevitable.“Okay, seriously. You can tell me and I promise I won’t be upset. A little confused because I am convinced that you can do better….but not upset.” She took a deep breath, looking in the mirror to address Selina. “Are you and Harvey, like…a thing?”

She had been fussing with her hair for a second or two when Summer wheeled on her. "He's twenty-two." Her brows arched at the redhead. "Get me alone? Why?"
When Summer finally got down to it, her mouth fell open. Her and him, a thing? She blinked, shocked at the accusation as she turned to the sink to reapply her gloss. "If we were a thing, would he have treated you like he did, when you two were together?" Gloss applied, she turned back to her friend.
"We're not a thing. We've been friends, and close friends since I was, oh, seventeen and he was twenty-three. So no. But...you should tell me what I've been missing. Is he...you know...good?" It was hard to even choke out the comment, asking about how big he was, or how he laid it down. And how much she was missing that Summer had been able to experience. She looked poised, save for the delicate ring she was twisting on her right ring finger, a diamond and amethyst setting on a band.

"Hmmm, well, he's gonna go places if he sticks with me, Detective.
Rooster thought about the question for a long moment. She finally looked over to him.
"To talk about the men we're with."
Rooster smirked as she took a drink of her beer, very smugly.

Harvey shook his head.
"That's about what I figured. They better not be talkin' shade."
Harvey took a long drink of his Pimm's Cup and set it on the bar, smoking his cigarette a bit defiantly, glancing over in the direction of the bathroom for a moment.
Of course they had to go do that. We haven't even been here for ten minutes.

Summer shrugged, reaching into her clutch to pull out a tube of lipstick. “Twenty-two is still a baby.” The twenty-four year old foolishly insisted. “I don’t date anyone that’s not at least five years older than me. “ As foolish as this statement was, it was typically true. Summer did seem to go for younger individuals or even ones her own age, insisting that they were not on the same level of maturity as she was. And that was probably why the stubborn redhead was still screamingly single.
A blush played on Summer cheeks and she easily hoped to blame it on the alcohol. “I don’t know what you mean.” She insisted instantly, throwing the first defense mechanism Selina’s way that she could. Summer didn’t like to dwell on her former relationship with Harvey, especially now after his little lament and knowing that she had really screwed him over. “Alright. Friends.” She said, still unconvinced. “I see how it is. I’m not that good of a friend that you can’t tell me the whole story. Even though I tell you eeeeeverything.” Summer sighed dramatically.
“Well, he looks at you like it’s more than friends. I mean, I would know. I used to be on the other side of that look at one point too.” She reminded, removing the cap of her lipstick and bringing it to her lush lips. It wasn’t until Selina’s next comment that Summer’s face turned as red as her lipstick and a mischievous smirk played on her pretty features. “What made you think we did anything like that?” She attempted, unable to refrain from smiling before giving into Selina’s questions. “Alright- yeah. He certainly knows what he is doing. Those handcuffs of his really come in handy too…” She stopped there but she knew that this discussion was only going escalate from there.

Selina snorted. "You're what, twenty-four? And you suck at lying, Summer. Harvey's seven years older than me, and I'm thirty-two. So unless you're really shitty at math, you're a bad liar. And don't worry about it. He's hard to say no to when he's laying on the charm."
She smirked at her friend, watching her touch up her liptstick in the mirror. But she did have a point.
"We are friends. I've never seen his bare ass, if that's what you're asking. He helped me out when I was seventeen, and we've been close ever since. His mother was good to me. His sisters, are like family to me. Other than...when I went to college, we've been good. I just...I never noticed him look at me like that. He's just..Theo." The Nile was not just a river. She was drowning in it, realizing this as she spoke.
"What makes me think you and him got down and dirty? Shit. Are you asking the stupidest question ever? Did he not tell you about how he laid it down to anything with curves back a few years ago? Ever heard the term 'fuck the pain away?' add a whole lotta liquor to that, and you had Harvey Theodore Bullock in the flesh. He's better now...but man." She sighed, curious if Summer had ever asked about the tattoo on his right side. Right where his holster would be.
She stopped fussing with her ring for a bit, when Summer gave up a bit of info. Ah. The handcuffs. Nice.
A bit of a grin came on her lips as she came over to Summer, holding her hands up in two qute distinct motions. "He always teased. Always. And the handcuffs don't shock me. He's said he tangled a few times with Catwoman. You ever see those scars? Four of 'em, right here." She motioned over her right shoulder and breast, where she knew all too well that she'd left a rather impressive mark.
"I just...he's a good man. I hate to hear it ended so poorly. But...he's rough around the edges, but has a tough gig of it. Always has. I like to think someday he'll settle down with someone, have a few kids. He always wanted them. But if he can get his rocks off while he can, why not?" She shrugged, a bit of her roots creeping into her dialogue as she continued.
Summer was a sneaky sleuth in her own way. She'd probably peg Harvey as her 'not quite public boyfriend,' instead of Bruce. There were damn good reasons why she didn't talk too in-depth about her personal life.
Reaching down, actually crouching, Selina went to go touch at her ankle. It was odd to not have it bound up and restrained. But when she looked up, she noticed an irritated red on Summer's thigh. She reached out and lifted the hem of Summmer's dress, her thumb running along the edge of the horrifically misspelled brand.
"Shit. Summer...when did you run into the Joker?" She gasped, standing up almost too quickly before she steadied herself. Her hand went to the other woman's arm, concern on her face. "You're ok, right? Other than that brand...shit." Her face quickly shifted to a barely-contained anger at Summer being anywhere near Jack. Rooster's words echo'ed in the back of her mind as her jaw set, her lips in a firm line.
"Tell me."

Rooster clapped at the ending of the song the kid played and sighed. She turned back to Harvey.
"So, how's the five-o treatin' you this week, Bull?"
She shook her head a bit as he turned to look at her. She leaned against the bar and took another drink of beer before someone came to ask her something. She looked back to Bullock.
"Sorry, sug, business to tend."
And with that she was off, Bobby watched her go and then looked over to Harvey.
"You need another, Detective?"

Harvey turned to Rooster.
"Not much sleep, never enough time, not bad I guess."
Harvey watched someone come and get her attention, saying something into her ear and under her hat. He nodded to her.
"That it does." he replied to her excusing herself. He turned to look at Bobby.
"That was good, but lets go with somethin' one of you Texas cats would drink. I wanna see just how thick the hairs on your chests really are."
