Summer admired her reflection in the floor length mirror, turning around to give her backside some attention before she slipped out of her silk robe and into her dress. Excitement bubbled in the redhead’s stomach as she turned to steal a glance at Selina stunning appearance before turning her attention quickly back to her own, flawless reflection. Her long, scarlet hair was curled in spirals midway down her back and styled perfectly. With her signature red lips and smoky eye that complemented her porcelain skin, she had spent the past hour laughing, talking and preparing for the evenings activities that Selina had in store for her. Though she was uneasy about going out, the redhead eventually agreed after her persistent friend propelled her to say yes. After all, even she needed to loosen up once in a while. “You know, for not doing my own make-up ever since the station hired Celia for me, I did a pretty good job.” Summer announced, not bother to look away from her reflection. Her tight-fitting dress was laid out next to Selina’s on her massive bed. In fact, the entire room where they currently stood was colossal. Convinced that the suite was bigger than her own flat, she couldn’t believe how luxurious and well-decorate the room was. “Which club are we going to again? There are so many new ones I get them all confused.”
With a playful pout, she took a seat on a white, plush chair and reached for her glass of wine she had been sipping the entire evening. Rings of red from her lipstick adored the edges, but it was nothing a little touch up couldn’t fix. While she normally preferred to drink out of straws, the expensive taste of her friend was enough to make her forget about her silly straw. “Your bed is the size of a pool.” She giggled, stretching out the entire length of the seat.

"Lucky bitch!" Selina shot back, touching up her dark lashes with a bit of mascara. She'd done a simple cat-eye, added a bit of shadow, gloss, the usual. A bit more of a dramatic eye was called in for tonight. It was interesting, as Summer had gone for a pink, tight, strapless number. After agonizing for quite a white, Selina had drawn something from her closet she hadn't worn in quite a while. It was a short dress, but a hybrid. From the back it was a drapy thing, hitting a bit above her knee. Evocative of a ballet dancer. From the front, one could then see the base shimmery charcoal fabric, the black overlay whimsical. It was a daring piece, and it just spoke to her. It's what she would wear. Turning on the small stool, Selina was clad in a short silk robe as well. Closing her eyes, she let the redhead look over her face-painting, hoping it would match. "I just..usually do eyeliner, a bit of lipstick, and go. You're damn lucky you have someone to do this for you on tv!" Once she needed a touchup, and was A-ok'ed, Selina eyed her shoes. It was the first time she'd been in heels since her accident, and she was a teeny bit wary. "The Troubador. Fantastic fusion place. Jazz, country, chill. The bartender...Summer," Selina said, standing and walking over to her, fixing a piece of her hair. "The bartender is something. Liquor psychic. A voice like melted butter. And his arms!" Selina gushed, shaking her head as she went to slip in her own dress. The mechanics had made picking her delicates a bit more difficult, but nothing a strapless bra wouldn't cure. Running her hands down her sides, she laughed, watching Summer comment on the size of her bed. "Hard work gets you one of those. And a few more years on your resume." It was just a California King. Not too large. She just preferred tall men. She couldn't believe she was only 24. Made her feel old. Then again, when she was twenty-four, what had she been up to again? Not a good place in her life. Stealing, loved and in love, but not happy. One year later she'd been back in Gotham. But that was a thought for another day. Grabbing her own wine, she sank into a chair beside her friend. "I'm glad we're doing this. And, because I know you're such a popular face, I got us a bodyguard. I did a stint at Rowdy's, and Alec couldn't make it, so I got us the next best thing. He's going to make sure we get there, and everything." How they got back, well, that was a different story. Considering their 'escort' was a 10 minute walk away, they may just be taking a cab. Sipping at her wine, her next thought was to shoes. "Black, purple, red? Stiletto, swing back, pump? What do you think with this, Summer?" Kicking out a bare foot, she listed off shoe styles. All would be risky with her foot, but she needed a night out. They both did. And thankfully she knew a man or two more than willing to accompany them. All she really had to do was pick out a pair of earrings, and she'd be set. Back Side Front

Summer couldn’t help but laugh at Selina’s harmless name calling. She knew she was pretty fortunate to have a make-up artist at her disposal every time she walked into an event or on set. However, she would trade her prized professional any day for a set up that rivaled her dear friends. The room was gorgeous, and that wasn’t even speaking for the rest of the elite home. The redhead only hoped in a few years she might be able to live a little more comfortably than she did now. After all, her career was practically blossoming every day.
“She’s a blessing I swear. It took a lot of begging, but eventually I wore him down. I have already learned so many helpful hints from her, especially with my hair. I had no idea how many ways there were to curl.” Examining Selina’s face and making an appropriate and very mild amount of touch ups, she took a step back and put her hands together. “Perfect! You are all done!”
Summer tossed her curls over her shoulder and turned back to the mirror, her eyes drifting uncomfortably to her upper thigh. Despite the length of the robe it still managed to conceal her newfound brand after her encounter with the joker. Because of its risqué location she had avoided any attention from it, though she was terrified that the length of her short dress might expose the very bottom of it. Now that it was peeling horribly, it wasn’t wise to dress the wound – at least, that was what the online sources she had sought said. Then again, those were based on a professionally done brand; typing ‘what do I do if I am branded with a slaughtering iron’ only gave her answers regarding immediate hospital care.
From her spot on the white couch, she sipped her wine and listened with a smile. “Really? You have me way to excited for this. Sexy bartender and good drinks; I am sold.” She eyed the bed, which marveled in size compared to her skimpy dress that laid on it. With a zipper that occupied the entire length of the dress, it was going to take a little help zipping it up, which was one of the reasons why Summer had avoided doing so. Her brand was sure to cause a bit of a scene when the time came, unless the young reporter could think of a way to avoid it.
Summer’s eyes lit up at the news of a body guard. This night was sure to flow smoothly. There was nothing she had to worry about now; no horrible confrontations, the fear of something being slipped in her drink and she was sure to get home safely. “You are the best! I swear, this is perfect! I can actually relax!” Summer leaned back in the chair, ultimately relieved.
Only sitting up to help Selina decide on a pair of shoes, she pursed her lips for a moment. “I’m a huge fan of red and black, it’s just sexy in my opinion. As for the style…” She pondered for a second, standing up so she could get a better look at Selina’s dress. “Your dress is so feminine and soft, but dramatic at the same time. While the colors didn’t make a statement, the draping and overall style does; it’s gorgeous…so I am thinking that you don’t have to be so bold with her shoes. Something fun and romantic would work best. Oh my god are those Jimmy Choo? Wear these!” Racing across the room, Summer’s eyes had set foot on a gorgeous pair of heels.

"The red, yes, Jimmy Choos." She eyeballed the shoes, and then ducked back into her closet for a sec. "I just...can't not wear those without these..." She winked, holding up a pair of silk stockings, with a garter belt.
"I know you're going to mock me for this. But ...my mother used to wear stockings, all the time. It was just...something." Sitting down on the chair again, she hiked up her dress slightly, hooking the garter about her hips, and letting it hang. "They're a bitch to get on, but when it's on...it's on." She teased, rolling the flimsy, nude fabric between her fingers before slipping them up and over her feet, calf, knee, and then thigh. Deftly enough she clipped them in front, and back, repeating with her other leg. She slipped into the heels, walking a bit before slipping out of them.
"You need to get in your dress. We only have about half an hour. And if you want, go look at my baubles. There has to be something to set off your skin, and that dress." She already had in mind a pair of earrings to work. It would be rude to not share with her friend.
Summer would be all pinks and reds, and Selina...was going for classc Noir tonight, it seemed. Thinking a second, she doubted she'd ever worn a pale pink, tight, zippered dress like that in her life. Oh, to be 24 again.

Harvey was soon to pick up Selina and whoever the hell else she was bringing along on this little whatever the hell they were doing tonight. He shaved and threw on a little aftershave, deciding cologne was just whatever. His aftershave was strong but not over powering, he liked his scent to be remembered in the best way possible. He pulled on his shirt, jacket, and then put his pocket square in. He was about to button the last few buttons of his shirt up, but decided to just go without a tie. It was nice to go out and differentiate between work and play Harvey. Play Harvey never wore a tie. He checked himself one more time, making sure he had his cigarettes, at least two cigars, his keys and everything else. Once he made it down to the parking garage he had his own personal garage within. He opened it and there sat his usual car, the black caddy he drove to and fro work most of the time, and the other woman in his life. The one lady who never brought him nothing but good thoughts and was never opposed to taking her top off. "Mmm, beautiful, I think we're gonna go out tonight, eh?" Harvey slipped into the 59 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500 and started it up, retracting the hood. It was a little cold, but it was a short enough drive to this new club that he could take it nice and slow. Driving this car always put him a particular mood and that meant he wanted to hear a certain style of music when he drove it. Harvey rolled up, honking his horn with some Bill Haley and The Comets blaring from his speakers. He bobbed his head, his hat matched his jacket, but with a teal hat band that matched his car. By this point his arm had healed enough that he was out of the sling. His arm was in a bracer under his sleeves to just help it from getting too jostled.

Summer couldn’t help but at the arrival of Selina’s stockings. “No! It’s totally classic! I like it, it’s so you.” The redhead couldn’t remember the last time she had worn a garter belt outside of her work clothes that she was willing to talk about at the moment. Nodding in agreement as she sipped the last of her wine, the redhead couldn’t help but chip in. “Right! I feel like every time I put them on its only so they can get ripped off.” Reaching for the large bottle that was chilling on the elaborate while table beside her, she began to pour herself a bit more, trying to avoid getting into her dress.
However, the time quickly approached, but Selina gave her another opportunity to stall. Her eyes lit up at the offer. “Really? Now I get to raid your jewelry box? This day just keeps getting better and better." Turning she grabbed her dress on the way to the massive amount of accessories that Selena owned. Summer felt like a kid in a candy store as she skimmed through the ample amounts of gold, silver and jewels. Looking for something large and costume to possibly steal some of the attention away from the excessive amount of skin she was sure to be showing that evening.
After selecting a simple set of earing and a set of large, colorful bangles that were sure to tie all of her colors in together, she then took the opportunity while Selina was occupied to slip into her dress and avoid the unwanted attention of her brand. With some great difficulty, she managed to get the zipper up past her hips, thankfully that the material hid her brand. With a sigh of relief, she realized that help was needed now that her brand was covered. The dress was so tight that it held itself up and she turned toward Selina with a pout, holding her chest up to help the zipping process. “Can you zip me? Then I will be ready.”
The sound from the horn outside caught her attention. “I am guessing that’s him?” She asked with a smile, “This is going to be so much fun.”

Classic. Now that was something she'd never thought of herself being described as. So when Summer uttered those words, she burst out laughing. "Classic? Me? If you only knew!" She snorted, covering her nose and mouth as she giggled. "Thanks for making me feel old, sweetie." Shaking her head, she bit her tongue at the next comment, winking at Summer before failing to conceal her laughter. "Well, isn't that what they're for?" She shot back, fastening her earrings, and hooking a bracelet on. She was pretty much done, and ready to go.
Touching up her lipstick while Summer went to play with the shiny things, she turned up to notice the zipper was only done partially. "I learned a trick about these sort of dresses. Inhale, take a deep breath, and...there we go.." It was a simple trick, and it got the job done. Bending down slightly, Selina tugged the hem straight, barely noting the angry red skin. She'd have to talk to the reporter later about that. She thought she heard the horn.
"That is our ride. Grab your money, ID, whatever you think you'll need. Our bodyguard can hold that stuff. He's got pockets for it." And then the two were down the elevator, and out into the lobby, a smirk on her lips as she saw an all-too familiar teal green chariot awaiting them.
"Looks like he brought out the chariot for us, tonight. Impressive, no?" She asked Summer, elbowing her in the ribs.

Harvey tapped the horn a few more times along to the song and waited for the two ladies. Once he saw them he got out to open the door for them. He smiled to Selina and his smile strained at Summer.
The devil is supposed to wear a blue dress.
"Ladies, how are you both this evening?"
The music had been turned down to an acceptable volume. Once they were in he whipped around back to the driver's seat.
"So we're headed to that new club just a few blocks away right? That one owned by that crazy thing from Texas?"
Harvey had dealt with Rooster after her club got trashed by the Joker. Something about her felt familiar, in another life perhaps they were involved. He liked her, that was for sure, she seemed well armed and had good tastes. Her temper was delicious.
"So, anyone else I gotta look out for tonight other than you two?"

Summer honestly couldn’t remember the last time she had this much fun. Actually, that probably would be the last time she and Selina had embarked on a shopping adventure to find new ensembles for the upcoming gala. Following Selina’s instructions, she took a deep breath to allow her friend to zip up the length of her dress. Her eyes instantly looking toward the phenomenal floor length mirror, she admired her natural hour-glass frame. While the dress was revealing, it wasn’t like she was going on air; she was going to a club. “Thanks.” She said with a smile, relieved that the redness adorning her upper thigh had gone unnoticed – or at least unacknowledged.
Hastily grabbing her needed belongings, she slipped into her shoes and buried her face in her phone to reply to the endless texts that she had accumulated over the last few hours. Ignoring those that regarded her work, she tucked her matching clutch under her arm and followed Selina obediently outside. The winter air hit her exposed skin as she stepped outside, causing the redhead to hug the warm material of her coat to her body. “Yeah it’s nice,” She said automatically, before looking up to actually see it.
Wait. That car looked all too familiar, though she couldn’t put her finger on it. It didn’t surface a particularly good feeling about it either. Wait. Oh god. No. Her eyes grew wide and she stopped in her tracks as Harvey stepped from the car to open the door. Doing her best to compose herself on the outside, she was practically screaming within. “Great until now,” She hissed quietly with a scowl as she got into the car after her friend, hoping that Selina hadn’t heard her comment. Summer then silently slid into the car, her head reeling with questions. He was behaving himself thus far, it was only right that she did the same.
In complete shock, she sat in the back, blinking. This had to be a joke; a sick cruel joke that was going to be over in a matter of seconds when the man in the front seat pulled he mask off his face and reassured her it wasn’t Harvey after all. She turned to Selina in the back seat, her face contorted with panic as she mouthed. “How do you know him?”

Slipping into the too familiar car was tricky. Her ankle was still on the mend, and, well, he was not entirely incapacitated, either. With a bit of a wave, she got into the back, squeezing his upper arm as she passed. He was such a doll to hold the door open.
"Fantastic, now that you're here!" Selina chirped, smiling back to Theo. "Mhm. Rooster. Or Beretta. She's fantastic. And so is that Bobby." Elbowing Summer, she caught a bit of a horrified glance. Hm.
"No, it's just us tonight. I do appreciate this. I'm thinking it may go a bit better than that time at Rowdy's. At least it's no theme night, King?" She chuckled a bit to herself, turning to Summer like they were a couple of schoolgirls. "What do you mean? Theo's kinda...." she couldn't say 'old family friend, because her family was dead. "I've known him since I was 17. Do you know him?" She blinked, eyes flickering between the two. She felt an introduction may be a bit easier, especially considering Summer was media, and sometimes seeing Gotham's Finest in public was a bit...abrupt.
Clearing her throat, she sat up slightly, patting Summer's leg. "Theo-Harvey, this is Summer Gleeson, Summer, this is Detective Leuteant Harvey Bullock, Gothams Crime something or other. Friend, meet friend." A fitting introduction, no?

"Yeah... We've met."
Harvey did not seem enthused by Summer's presence. After everyone was loaded up he slowly rolled forward, getting over into the traffic. Harvey wanted to say something, but decided against it. He and Summer may not get along, at least anymore, but he wasn't going to be the asshole ruining a girls' night out.
He sighed to himself and made a turn, then eventually another. The brisk night air getting under his collar seemed to wake him up even more.
Eventually they were at the front line of a stop light when a group of men in a car beside them began cat calling at the girls and tried to convince them to dump 'pops' and have a ride with them. Harvey growled under his breath and flashed his badge.
"Call me pops one more time and I'll book your asses."
They quickly shut up and Harvey smirked smugly.

Summer caught the exchange between the two and questions instantly popped into her head. Was Selina interested in him? The redhead wanted to vomit. Selina could do so much better; she only hoped that the well-known member of Gotham’s elite was not going to settle on her ex-whatever he was. Cringing at the thought, she couldn’t imagine coming over to Selina’s house to see him sprawled out on the couch. It wasn’t the idea of them being together that bothered her, but the fact that he would be in her life much more than she was going to be comfortable with, especially with their disturbing history.
Even though she was a convincing actress, she was struggling to keep the disgusted look over her face and prevent from jumping into the front seat to wipe that smirk of his face. Did he know she was coming the entire time? A bit of fair warning might have been nice. She couldn’t be to hostel, he did save her at the police station as well as unintentionally introduce her to the man she had grown to fear.
Speaking in hushed tones in the back as Selina turned to her, she nodded her eyes wide. “Yeah- um. I guess you can say we- god, I don’t know how to say this. Maybe I should text it too you, I might vomit if I have to say it out loud.” She mentioned a little louder, actually hoping that he might hear that last bit. To think, it was such a small world. If you would have told her that she would have been driven around by Harvey as one of her closest friends attempted to get her trashed Summer would have never believed you until now.
Jumping slightly as Selina patted her leg, she was still a little sore and shaky after her Joker encounter. Her eyes lit up as she remembered the recording device she had used that day at amusement mile that sat in her matching clutch. Half tempted to maybe slip it to Harvey at some point during the night; she quickly shrugged the idea off. He could find his own leads.
Texting rapid fire those few fateful words to the woman who was sitting a matter of inches away from her. Summer sighed as she pressed send, the text reading the very painful truth.
“Unfortunately.” She said with no attempt to hide her distain. “Oh look, we still finish each other’s sentences.” The reporter said with a roll of her eyes, knowing that he wasn’t too impressed to be spending the evening with her either. Taking a deep breath, she turned toward Selina talking quietly in hopes that Harvey wouldn’t hear her. “Look- I am sorry. I will be good as long as he is. Promise. Take two.” Flashing her a reassuring smile, she could only imagine how awkward this had to be for everyone sitting in the car.
Sitting back in her seat, she looked out the window to see they were quickly approaching their destination. Thank god. This 10 minute car ride felt like an hour and Summer was already convinced she needed a shot. Stopping herself from rolling her eyes once more as he piped up from the front seat, she couldn’t help think to herself. It wouldn’t be the first time.

Oh hell. The two with her in the car were acting like petulant teens. And clearly were not happy with seeing one another. Wide eyed, she stared between the two, and turned back to Summer, whispering hotly. "I think I know...but text me...I'll use it against you later.." Selina teased, hoping to set the redhead at ease. As she glanced at her phone, she couldn't believe the brief words. Small world.
Letting out a bit of a chuckle, she bit her lip as she caught Harvey's eye in the rearview mirror. God. He did get around. And the fact Summer was so disgusted by it meant there had to be a great story behind it. She texted back a quick note, "Was he good?" before flipping her phone over.
"I'm thinking both of your actions are saying loud and clear what happened. Must've been a fantastic time? Shit, Summer, he's at least a foot taller than you." She teased the redhead, her eyes full of mischief. "And no. I didn't know two of my closest friends were keenly acquainted already. But this should be a good night. And despite your history, it will be a good night." It wasn't really a question, but more of a 'neither of you fuck this up, or you'll have me to deal with.'
Thankfully, Rooster's place was coming up on the right, and all three of them would be lubed up, and forgetting about the past, and soon. She'd be buying the first round. And maybe the second, if the other two wouldn't calm down.

Harvey caught Selina's eye and then his eyes darted back to the road quickly. He grimaced a bit at Selina's words. He was being super nice. He couldn't hold back.
"Fine, lets address this now and get the slate cleaned, Gleeson. What you did was shitty. You used me to get yourself ahead and now look at you, you're a pretty little face on TV telling everyone, with a sparkle in your eye, about all the bad shit that's happened during the day. I get it, you needed a leg up and I was an easy, lonely, middle-aged target."
Harvey's tone was something mixed between his usual relaxed/annoyed self, but there was a twinge of offense in it. He had been honestly hurt by her previous actions.
"I was suspicious when we first met, but eventually I gave into your wily little charms because I thought 'hey, maybe she really does like me here!' Through the Summer and Fall I treated you like the god damn Queen Nefertiti, hell I even gave you leads myself to help you get ahead. You were really rubbin' off on me. Then - then I find you, in my desk at work, red handed, stealing case files and photos from my cases. That wasn't right, and you know it. I cared and you were playin' me for a fool that whole time. I may like to have a good time, but I take my job seriously. It wasn't fair of you to disrespect my position like you did while I was already giving you what I could so you would rise in your own profession. It was a slap in the face."
They pulled to another stop and Harvey looked at Summer through the mirror.
"I know I ain't perfect, I know I'm an ass, I know I'm mean, but let's bury the hatchet, and you better decide fast, because I don't offer that to a lot of people. I'm only doin' it because Selina is my friend and any friend of hers is someone I gotta look out for, she does the same for me. What's your answer? You wanna hate each other, or put this behind us and have a good time tonight?"
Harvey, while he regarded the reporter as a little harpy, did still have something of a soft spot for her. Before he knew what her game was while they were still together, he was actually enjoying her company and time quite a bit. It had been a nice change to come home and have someone that would be already be there or show up with a smile on her face, happy to see him, even if it had all been fake.
"If you agree to this, then that means both of us clean the slate, not just me. You gotta be willing to put my bullshit behind just as much as I'm willin' to put yours behind, too."
Harvey did have a temper. While the two of them had been together she had to put up with it. He'd never gone off on her, but she had to clean and cool his burns. he'd been remarkably affectionate and gentle with her, but when he was pissed she definitely had to do some damage control. He'd also had an insatiable appetite, he had spoken much more with his body than he ever had his voice, she had come to learn. He'd also been terribly critical of her chosen field over all. He'd always try to convince her that she could do better than the media. He did not trust it and likely never would with as stubborn as he was.

Summer couldn’t help but smile at Selina’s comment. Even when placed in such an awkward situation the woman still held her composure so regally. It was always something that Summer had admired about the woman, envying that she could not do the same. Her phone lit up and she looked back down at the screen with a snort. Giving her friend a look she could not deny the blush that had crept upon her cheeks. With a defeated sigh, she began to text him back, sending one that read: Let’s just say I had trouble walking the next day. God, that text was sure to come back and haunt her later the second that she and Selina were left alone.
Left silently blushing as Harvey pulled skeleton after skeleton out of the closet. She was mortified and beyond embarrassed. Summer Gleeson the little slut that slept for stories wasn’t exactly the name that she wanted going around the city. However, guilt did manage to wash over her as he spoke; she didn’t realize that she had managed to have that much of an effect on him.
