"You're such a tease." She whispered, her lips pressed to his ear, the distance already having closed between them, her arms circling about him and draped over his shoulders. This had been her favorite song for years. And years after that. Even when it cropped in media, she freaked out, cranking the volume up to eleven.
Even as they moved across the dance floor, she felt like it was only them. But there were eyes on the two of them, eyes that went wide as the vivacious brunette came that close to the cop they all knew as a regular. Not that they knew the start of when these two met, but they knew there was something of a future. They had to. Sights like this gave even the hopeless, hope. For if there was no future for the young couple dancing by themselves, what was there in the world? Especially in Gotham?

Harvey hated mushiness, at least he put up the facade that he did. He shed a tear each time he watched Casablanca but no one but him knew that little fact. These sorts of scenes would generally make him all uncomfortable while watching movies. For some reason the idea of romance or intimacy always made him weary. In the truth of it all, it was his deepest fear. To be loved and then to somehow lose it. It was terrifying.
But for now, Harvey would just enjoy it. He had quite the liquor in his system, but even if it were not present he'd probably manage the courage he managed now. Word would be spreading at work tomorrow, Harvey went out and danced, drunk with some gorgeous brunette. He didn't have to answer to anyone about it. He only had that brunette to answer to.
He smiled into her hair and caught the scent of it. It was always nice. She wore the best perfumes, always. Harvey greatly appreciated that. He was an expert on the subject of perfume.
Eventually he put his hands on her face and tilted her head up to face him.
"Hey... here's lookin' at you, kid."
Harvey grinned a warm, welcoming grin. It was as genuine as he got. He kissed her hair and kept the grin on his face and then just continued dancing slowly and silently.

If only he knew the only reason she had such good taste, was because of his mother. A lot of things she attributed to Mrs. Bullock. It was her little secret. Many nights while Theo had been away she had cried, and poured her heart out. And she had been comforted like she was one of the trio's sisters. Never like an outsider, ever.
So for her, intimacy was..something else. An experience and emotion she had little experience with. At an all girl's school, she didn't come into contact with many. Save for Theo. But whatever he was, she didn't want to label. That would just ruin it. But from her years post her parent's death, had sprung a will of sorts. And there was little she wasn't able to get with a smile, and a certain set of words. It was becoming easier to her, now that she wasn't seventeen anymore.
Turning her cheek to rest against his chest, she smiled at the echo of lub-dub in her ear. He always tried to hide his heart. She'd known that for years, but still held up his facade as she saw him at work. Not many knew he had nearly raised his sisters. And not many would need to know. So as they danced, she sighed happily, letting the complications of life fade as she felt the alcohol take hold in her system. It was nice to not worry. Not care. Well, she cared, but, oh..what? Suddenly they weren't moving, and she was gazing up at him. And his goofy words. "I'm not a kid," she murmured, remembering a bit too late it was from Casablanca. And that didn't matter, because they continued to dance to their own tune, even as the last noes had faded from the juke.

Harvey ignored her comment, though he heard it. He just continued dancing and let a large and long sigh work through him. He was relaxed, contented, and quite drunk. Lately in his life being in this state was the only time he felt rested, which really wasn't healthy. He's been having a rough go of it since making detective, his spirit wounded and broken many times over.
As the song would eventually turn into something else and gave her a squeeze and lifted her off the ground a little when he did it.
"Hope you like that."
He set her back down and threw his arm over her shoulder.

She felt him relax, and that made her smile. It was something that coursed through his entire body, setting him at ease. She hadn't been around as much since he'd been promoted, but..such was school. She was almost where she needed to be, and didn't quite know how to tell him about her scholarship, either. So for now she had pushed the thought out of her head, and focused on the now.
As the song filtered to off, she found herself enveloped in a bear hug, feet lifted off the ground slightly. Letting out a little eep, Selina smirked, a large grin plastered on her face. "Loved it, you know. My favorite song. If I could get that thing open, you know I'd take the album myself..." She paused a heartbeat, a glint in her gimlet eyes.
"Then again, I probably could...." She mused, her hand going to grab his as it draped over her arm and they walked back to the bar.

"Don't you steal that album from me again. I've had to buy spares and hide them from you."
Harvey just shook his head with a smile and took a drink of his beer on the bar leaning against the bar top while remaining on his feet. He looked to her again as he lit a cigarette. He took a long few drags off of it and then blew it out, letting it through his nostrils.
"So, what're ya feelin' like? More booze or what?"
Harvey could do more booze, she could not. He didn't have to even think about it or see it to know he could outdrink her. He was at least two if not three of her.
"There's a chicken an waffles place a few blocks up the street."

"I only take them when they're on their last legs! And I was talking about taking it from here! Not stealing it. Sheesh. Make me out to be a criminal, now why don't you." She teased, huffing slightly at him. As if right on cue, after he'd taken the first virgin tokes off the smoke, she indulged herself, before returning it back to his lips. Oh boy, the regulars would be heckling him tomorrow. Dancing with the mystery girl? And now sharing a smoke? Hoo-boy.
"One more." She was about to say more when he got that look on his face. "And then we can eat. We have been at it for a while now." And she was just getting that warm feeling that spread across her entire body, as if the whole world was on vacation.

"You got it, baby."
Harvey ordered them up another round, slamming money down before she could.
Once they got their drinks he held his up to her.
"Skall."
Once their glasses clinked together he had a nice swig of his own, and leaned against the bar top. He had watched something on television the other day about Norway. That was the word they used for cheers. He thought it was interesting enough to warrant that he actually use it.

This one burned as she shot it, first clinking glasses. Thankfully she had been poised on a bar stool, otherwise she highly doubted she'd be standing. Not that she'd ever admit to not being able to go glass-for-glass with Theo, but still. She may feel a bit ashamed that her few trips to the ladies' room had her throwing up, but hell. She wanted to see how much he could drink, and part of her, a teeny, tiny part, wanted to keep up.
But still. The countless shots and drinks were going to get to her, and as much as she trusted Theo Bullock, she trusted herself more.
Reaching for her OJ and soda, she washed the burn of their drink down, a faint smile on her lips as he leaned against the bar, contemplating something.

He downed half his drink before he thought to light himself a new cigarette. He'd become a bit of a chain smoker and it was starting to show.
Eventually he looked to her.
"What're ya thinkin'bout? Hmmm?"
Harvey held the glass in his hand an his eyes sparkled like that place between awake and asleep.

Her eyes turned to his, then the lit cherry of his smoke. "You smoking. School. What're you thinking about? Hmm?" She threw his words back, with a bit of a tease tossed in for good measure.
He was usually goofing, and time at the bar meant they could both let loose a bit. Tossing her hair behind her shoulder, she leaned back on her stool, almost missing the bar to place her elbows. Thankfully, she did catch herself, instead of taking a header off her stool.

"Oh you are drunk, m'dear. I can see it. Come on, finish up and lets get some food in ya."
Harvey continued drinking, but there was a bit more of a purpose in it now. He smoked down his cigarette.
"I'm thinking about everything and nothing all at once. I am trying to drown it all and amplify it all simultaneously. I'm drinking."
Harvey smirked and took another longer drag and drink.

"You're the drunk one. I just...am...wearing tall heels...." She stammered, realizing a bit too late that the height of her heels had not a damn thing to do with her keeping herself upright on a stool. Damn him.
Narrowing her eyes at him, she snaps her fingers at him, as he is just outside her reach for her to make a play for his cigarette without falling to her demise. "You're an asshole philospher, Theo. No armchair needed for you." She teases, finishing her own drink, and her OJ and soda. Glowering at him as he nonchalantly puffs, pours, and smirks at her.

He could always tell when she wanted a drag. He leaned over enough to allow her to pluck it as she pleased. He just smiled.
"I know. I'm a friggin' deep guy, gah."
Eventually their drinks were finished and all that part of the evening was over with, for now. Once he checked to make sure they were paid up he threw her over his shoulder on the way out.
"C'mon. You ain't walkin' around in those death traps when you got a bull to buck you around to where you need to go."
Phrasing, Harvey, phrasing.
Once they were far enough down the block he set her down gently, giving her the opportunity to walk the rest of the way to their chicken and waffles destination.

A drag or two later, and she was content, albeit still a teeny bit wobbly on her chair. Nicotine settled her stomach, oddly. But it did nothing to quell the spinning in her head.
"Really deep, man." She answered, winking at him. Right before she was about to stand, she found the world topsy-turvy, upside down, and hoped to god he'd pinned her skirt down. "Seriously?!" Came her screech, her vantage point, ...interesting, to say the least. "I know how to walk in these dealth traps, and don't need anyone, bull or not, to carry me where I am going!" Kicking her feet got her nowhere but a strong arm across the back of her thighs, and calves, pinning her to him. At least she was able to get at his wallet, going through it while they left.
He certainly was going to get grilled for this little show tomorrow by the regulars.
Once her feet hit ground again, she swatted him with his own wallet, eyes narrowed. "I could've walked out of there, y'know." She wasn't wobbly, but wasn't staggering, either. She did take the offered arm just in case. Cue eyeroll.
