Phoebe has discovered what just might be the most delicious caramel popcorn ball she's ever had. Possibly because they're a very rare thing for her to run into, but then again so is all lot of the food around here. She's most of the way through it when she sees Victor coming, though he doesn't seem to see her. And guessing that he's talking to Lupin, she quietly listens in as they continue to talk, though her eyes are turned to watching the people dancing.
Hearing them talk about whether or not he should dance, Phoebe decides that it definitely sounds like fun. Maybe when she's done with the popcorn ball - she's almost finished. But unlike Victor, she sees no reason why she can't go out there and cut the rug by herself. Then again, when she catches him thinking about wanting a dance partner she grins to herself and decides to ask him. She may not be old enough to be his girlfriend, but she doesn't like hearing him being so sad about Kory and maybe dancing will help him get his mind off of it and enjoy the party more. Just as soon as she's finished eating this delicious thing...
And by the time she does, Victor has moved on to discussing with Lupin about whether or not it was okay for him to take control of Victor. And as it happens, she has an opinion on that subject, though to keep it private from anyone within earshot she makes her own comment mental. Forcing someone to do something is wrong, she says flatly, Unless they're a bad guy and you're stopping them, or they're about to get hurt and you're saving them. As one might guess from her 'nickname', Phoebe is quite capable of forcing things on other people. Which is precisely why she was taught so specifically about when it's acceptable.
But, not wanting to dwell on that too much, she also taps on Victor's arm to make sure that he sees that she's so close before saying, "I want to dance - will you dance with me?" She's never actually danced at a place like this before, and she's eager to try. If only because she's already so full of sugar that it's beginning to get difficult to hold still.

Dick just smiled at her and gave a slight laugh. "I take it you're idea of no costume might be a bit different from mine by the way you say it," he said.
He should know her well enough to pick up on a few things. And how she viewed something compare to on earth vs. where she was from. While considering they had spent so much time together, they would know quite a few things about the other.
And he noticed as the music picked up so did Kory's moves. She we definitely someone who could be hard to keep up with at times. So full of energy at times, it could ware someone out. As they danced, he did a decent job of keeping up. After all those times they used to go clubbing it wasn't really hard for him to find a beat to go with.
As she spin directed away from him and then back, he was there to catch her again. Keeping semi close to her with their movement as they danced. Though at times giving space for her to do her own thing.
"Yeah, I've known that from some time now," he smiled. "Especially with all the time you had come up some people and told them that you broke something when it really wasn't broken at all."
He smiled at her. There were many times like that back with the Titans when she had first gotten to know them. And to be truthful, she could still be that way at time these days. Never wanting to upset anyone. Always trying to be there for them.
Then the conversation fell more serious. And Dick knew he had set off something that he didn't mean too.
"Kory, I didn't mean it like that, but...It's hard to explain. Can we please not bring this up right here, right now," he asked in a slight pleading way toward the end of it in a hushed tone. He didn't want any of the attention around in the room.
He really didn't want to bring it up. And honestly, he had in a way tried to move one. But that was only because he had not been such what to expect after she had left. He hadn't been sure how long she would be gone. And Dick had had a pretty serious relationship going on with Barbara until he had started getting more defensive and pushing others away again as he had wanted space.
Things had seemed cool for a while between the two. But it didn't last long when you were arguing a lot of the time. And the living together may have pushed things to fast for Dick as he had suggested she say with him. And it turned out to only make things more difficult between him and Barbara. At least it was difficult for Dick to manage to get used to. He had felt like after time, he didn't have any space in a way.
He really hoped that Kory would respect his wishes. He would talk to her another time when the time was right about this kind of stuff. In the middle of a room with lose of strangers around was not the place. Dick knew that Kory wouldn't want to draw anything out of him if he didn't to say something about it.
After the break up not too long ago with Barbara. He had moved on pretty quickly. And Kory's company was the best he had had since this had all happened. Though there were still sore issues about the whole thing. What relationship ending didn't have something that just seemed off after it all. And especially if you still worked within the same group.
Then Kory had leaned in and they kissed. It was another way of getting his mind off his worries and back on her. Kory had that affect on him. His worries set to the side again as she got his attention back.
And then she said something about kissing Victor? Dick stopped only for a moment and looked at her. "So you kissed him," he asked curiously over the matter.
"As for the move, no I'm fine. I can handle it. You just worry about what you need to do. I'm just trying to get everything to Bludhaven at the moment," he said.
Of course when the music changed to something familiar to Kory. Dick was taken back at how she got into this kind of stuff so well. It was hard to keep up with her at times. He still did a decent job of it. But this was now more of Kory in the spot light.

"In the way I generally prefer it? Then yes… Of course because there be less chances you'd hurt yourself… Shhhh!"
With a sweet smile Kory playfully answered him. He laughed. Finding it hard not make herself smile. Her hands gently played at the strings of his Robin shirt, mentioning the many ways clothes could hinder him or had on occasion. Before he could mutter his response, that he didn't want yet another thing revealed, she kept it quiet. Smiling amusingly and winked at him. Oh, yes this company was defiantly enjoyable. She was having fun and she believed he was also. He was at least trying and look dancing. Wow. As Kory spun it was a rush. Laughing joyfully as Dick caught her. She was made of energy, but he defiantly found a way to keep at her trail. Wow, Dick sure had some moves. Kory laughed softly to see moves she may or may not have taught him. OH no, now that move was new. Was he going down low? Kory laughed. As she milady jumped around and shimmied her body in low moves, then back up. Music just had that way of making one feel so much. Also that adrenaline rush and soon half loss of breath.
"Been awhile since we've got down, I'm surprised you've not lost your touch, your a great dancer… You know me well! Maybe too well! What can I say, I come in peace!"
Happily commented on his dance skills, as Kory settled enough so she could talk, but still was keeping to a beat with him at toe. Her hands not quickly leaving him. Even if she was seeing past Robin Hood, there was some enjoyment in him dressed up in it. Kory played to his words of how well he did know her, but not that in truth it was an overall bad thing. Sweetly hearing about her confessing to people of things she may or may not of broken, she least thought they were broken. She was simply wanting to bring the peace. Kory smiled softly to him… Before then Dick's eyes. His manor shifted. Kory again had found a way through something she was guessing now she shouldn't of. She was simply wanting to understand things, she couldn't quite understand, but this reaction wasn't what she had wished. Perhaps she could be forgiven she forgot the room, but Dick certainly brought the attention of to her now. Her hands sweetly and softly played at his neck.
"Of course… We're in a happy place now… There is an after party later, It be dull without your attendance. No costume rule… If you have the time? "
As assuring as Kory could be, she was in agreement. Smiling sweetly near his own lips. She knew she was silly to really question, with everything so far feeling good. She felt they were having fun together again, regardless as to what it meant. She didn't want to cause discomfort or pain. She certainly didn't wish to push him, but the fact she wanted to kiss him badly well that she couldn't hide so well. It somehow made the senselessness not matter. It just felt good. Going with him speaking of later, Kory playfully joked of an after party at her place, if he be interested after his patrolling, half amusing herself if he would indeed go crime fighting as Robin Hood. As her lips had soon found his. She could almost feel his mind ease and she smiled. It also eased her own mind. Wanting the most to embrace and enjoy the moment with him, in the here now. She mumbled unknowing sounds and words through the kiss. Her hands motioned at his neck to pull him in. Almost laughing to feel him pretty much trip and fall. There was no hope for him, she teasingly thought… Before resting her head against his own gently. Giving herself a moment to enjoy that fact he was here with her. Her lips smiled innocently to his words about her kissing Victor. Moving to stare. Maybe even barely blinking at her. The curiosity in his eyes. Did his own lips tremble? Kory's finger came sweetly at his lips.
"Yes, on the cheek!"
Kindly reassuring him, knowing Dick well he was trying to be understanding as he asked. It was his way of caring at times. That was strange but sweet in a way. Though it wasn't strange for Kory to act overly friendly with those she met and especially her friends or kissing them on their cheeks. Kory's eyes looked to his carefully. Felt the shape of his lips, before dropping it kiss him again. Hmmm, no there was no kiss quite like it. Before feeling more into the mood of the music again with him. Smiled at him kindly about the move to Bludhaven. Wasn't a surprising answer, but as always as the great former leader of the titans, he liked to have things covered. To take charge.
"Certainly, you can handle anything… So all of a sudden you don't like my decorating skills?"
Kory was well aware of how well he could handle anything and everything. Generally many things at once, it was a gift. She smiled sweetly to him. This was going to be really fun she was sure. The times she would find to share with him in this new city. She was all for him stepping on his own. She'd make sure to give him the space, but not let him fall in depression. It wasn't a good look for him. Perhaps a change would also be good for Kory. She was excited to on the occasions be beside Nightwing, besides how the night had went, it proved one thing that they were still a team when they fought together. It didn't need to be spoke she had followed his lead for many years. Maybe just maybe there be some training sessions again. They were always fun, save that thing in her mind she didn't want to hurt him and he gave her the encouragement to push it that little more. He knew just how powerful she was and also how she held back… Then different topic. Kory questioned him about her decorating skills. Playfully putting him on the spot. She eyed him amusingly, she couldn't help it as she pretended to pout for him… Although she could hope this new place of his, wouldn't become the next man cave. She might just have to bring force to pull him out enough to see the sun… It was fun dancing like this. Free and filled of life. She could see Dick watching her and was rather delightful. It half kept her going that little more. Her dancing was fun a bit sexy. Just joy. With some descent way of moving on her feet. Popping her body, she did have that slightly more curvy body for a model, so it helped. Throwing her arms up in cheerful ways into some comfortable spins flowing with the music. Keeping close to Dick. Taking his hand. Twirled a little. Laughed and fell into him at times. With skill to not break her dress. There were eyes, but Kory didn't mind. She was free to be herself in the way she wished. The songs would change. Once getting to a song with also a familiar beat. It was rather ironic in the lyrics. Ne-yo, Because of you. This be more something for both of them. As Kory's arms fell around the sides of his neck, mostly on his chest. She was feeling the vibe as she moved with the music, her body with his. 'Want to but I can't help it, I love the way you feel' Kory softly sang to Dick, almost more a whisper given the music was loud. The way she felt, it was because of him. Even in ways it could be unhealthy, Kory found it hard to stop. Getting more into the beat. These kinds of moves she knew, after her fascination to learn about the so called Moon walk. It well didn't exactly happen on the moon or any moon she came to, but it was fun move.

Victor was hardly straying away from the grapes on the buffet table. He had always enjoyed this particular fruit. And now that he had an ample supply before him he was eating away. He popped another one into his mouth and felt it pop between his teeth as he bit down. When he saw Dick and Kory kiss he froze and let a few grapes fall from his hand back into the bowl. 'Ok Lupin. Your right they are together. But that doesn't mean I should give up.' It was about that time Force's voice appeared in his head. Now he didn't really react to it with much surprise. He had managed to get used to it rather well.
'Well see Lupin another person who agrees with me.' And before the mental wolf could speak Victor cut him off. 'In his defense though he probably thought he was helping.'
He kept eating grapes as he mentally said all this. He may not have liked the feeling of Lupin taking over like that. But at least it was someone he could trust. Not someone trying to turn him down a dark path or anything like that.
Then he found himself watching Kory and Dick dance. It had been the third time so far. And the tone of the music didn't quite help him out. Even if he wasn't sure who was singing it or what it was about. He snapped out of it when he heard Force. He looked at her and found himself grinning. "You wanna dance with me?" He asked with a chuckle. He looked out at the dance floor and then back at Force. After a moments thought he gave an elaborate bow and a tip of his hat. "Lead the way Princess." He said referring to her costume. Ok it was clear that the full moon was having an effect on him tonight.

Phoebe doesn't reply as Victor tries to justify what Lupin did because she doesn't see how one can argue the point. What's right is right, what's wrong is wrong, and forcing someone to do something just because you're trying to be helpful is wrong if their life isn't at stake. Then again, Victor's mind drifts so easily back to Kory again. Seriously, the man is torturing himself.
But going to the dance floor ought to be plenty distracting from all of that, and when Victor tells her to lead the way she immediately does so by grabbing his hand and pulling him to where everyone's dancing. But as she does so she confesses that, "But I've never really danced at a party like this before, so you'll have to show me how." Not that most ten year-olds know more than the rudiments of it, but she's even worse - she'd need to learn practically from scratch at this point, though she'd observed how the people already dancing are moving. It looks like a lot of fun!
She leads him to an open area near the other dancers, but where they can have a little space, before she turns to Victor and asks, "So what do we do first?"

When she had silenced Dick, he did not protest to her. He let her win that one. There was no point in making a scene of it. It was a night of fun and a chance to relax before he would have to get back to the real world of being a vigilante. This was Kory's night. Her night to have fun and enjoy it with those she wanted around.
"Yeah, but you've got a lot of fight to ya," Dick smiled at her, recalling the day she first came to earth and they had not understood her and she was striking out.
As they continued on and at Kory's comments of an after party. Dick smiled at her.
"I think my schedule might allow a bit of time," he replied. Of course that would be after patrolling and she knew that. But he took the hint well enough.
At her answer to his question over the kiss, he was silent. He understood. So there was no harm done. He wouldn't say anything further on the subject. He'd let it slide. But he wouldn't forget the information he had learned that night. Of what went on.
Then when she acted offended by his comment on decorating he went into a defensive mode to protect her feelings over it. At least he would try to reason with her.
"I never said I didn't like your decorating. It's just I don't mind the place with some space to it. My other place was fine. You know I'm fine with the minimum amount it in. Easier to keep it clean that to have to clean around," he tried to say.
Though he had a feeling it wouldn't help. Besides most of his time was spent on the streets, in the training room, or working in some sort of lab he had for his work.
As the music changed to a more steady beat with a slight pump to it, Dick found himself joining in a bit more to the music with Kory. The first time he had been holding back, but there was just something about Kory that was driving him a bit more as she moved. Her motion so soft and swaying with the music.
At first he found himself stepping forward a bit more towards her, popping his knee and step more to the beat. Then turning towards her but not facing her straight on as he worked his weight on his toes and was his heels popped off to the sides, his legs going with the fluid motion. His hand on his chest at first as he did this as it came up to his head for a bob and a turn with his body on his toes as he swayed into the next steps of the beat.
He knew this song. And he knew how to dance. All the years of clubbing definitely help to that. That and with his motion from acrobatics and gymnastics, that helped a lot in his motion to keep it flowing. And even if there was a jerked motion it was in time with the beat.
The with his hand on his chest again his shoulder rocked side to side as he shifted his weight to one leg then pulsed off into a slight slide to the other. Stepping off that and returning into the step and his toes hardly leaving the ground with him movement. As his legs rolled into movement. His hips following the movement as his shoulders rolled back than forwards.
His arms moving in time with his steps at some points to help exaggerate the movements he was making, but make it look good. Pulling her in for a moment to get close as the music hit a beat and he pulled off into a back slide off without even having to use her to support his movement. Landing into the back slide and spinning it off from toe to heel as he came back to face her and worked his way back.
His hands and arms gesturing to the words in the sang on he moved in time to the beat. Even the jerks were as smooth as could be with his motion in time with the music as he got closer to her. He hadn't forgotten one bit. And it didn't hurt to know how to roll with the music.

There was nothing that came. Just silence. Yet, Kory was sure she felt something. As he did not protest. He just looked at her. Finding her eyes drop, with a soft smile. It was never about winning, Kory wasn't keeping score. For all she knew he had already won, least she felt she had, but sure there probably was a lot more to gain. Smiling to him sweetly. She would never wish to put him in a too awkward position. He knew that. Didn't he? She was just wanting to see who he really was. With the closeness, her smile fell sweetly into the side, the curve of his neck and motioned a soft kiss near the edge of his jawline. Lightly her finger traced from his left jawline to his chin. Before moving it back over from his right jawline to his chin with the back of her finger. Quite the cuddly embrace, even with the slight restriction with her dress. She was not blinded to know the reasons why he was here. What brought him all this way. To be by her side. He was here for her. Smiling softly in the curve of his neck at his words. Gasped a sweet laugh by his ear at his words. Retreating her head back. Tracing her finger back to his chin.
"I'm a trained warrior… Its expected… Was it ever a problem for you? You know I didn't mean… I was confused that day… Until you."
There was no doubting, Kory was a tough fighter. A very tough fighter. Though having been trained since she was a small child, it wasn't over night. It was a big part of who and what she was. Something she was sure Dick probably found hard seeing. The warrior side in her. The side that was trained to kill and yet she was still that good person. She wasn't trained to look for fights. If she could help it there be no fights. For so many decades Tamaran saw nothing but peace. That's all a tamaranean wanted, but not so easily obtained… So Kory wasn't doubting Dick's words. It was true. As she smiled. Kory asked curiously. There times sure she struck out by accident, but she never wished to hurt him. Recalling the day they met. That was different. She didn't know who or even what they were. She had never seen the likes of humans before. She didn't understand them anymore than they did her. Not to mention she had just escaped hell… But that soon changed when Robin stopped her. He came to her level, through all her strengths and powers, he found the common ground. He may not have understood, but he listened. As did the tamaranean princess. Dick gave Kory, her voice. There was no greater gift.
"I'll wait for you… Though I do hope you don't take too long… I may need help with my costume."
So the excitement already inside, may have bubbled a little more at Dick agreeing to meet her half way. Most likely at her place. Her cheeks showed off her desire for his attendance. His full attention. Half cheering look in her eyes. Though she knew the city needed its hero. She would fly tonight herself, she was sure. So she could indeed be patient. The thought of him out there. Even seeing him, was a good feeling. It also meant he'd be better prepared. He'd be warmed up. Though she couldn't deny she'd rather him there sooner than later… Kory met his eyes, playfully she wouldn't be waiting forever… Joking about her costume. Either one. She smiled, even though physically she could manage them well. Just smiled, because well she was just happy… Why was he then silent? At the mentioning more of kissing Victor on the cheek. He had wandered there was more? Kory was sure. She wished she knew why he seemed worried over it. So far he wasn't exactly clear what he wanted from her. Well save a little fun… From what she could tell he was wanting more, but perhaps not ready… Kory was sure she knew what she wanted. Kory sweetly smiled, even though he hadn't so much then. Moved back in closely. To feel the gentle rub of their noses. To hopefully pull his lips in for another kiss. Trying to sooth his concerns. Perhaps in doing so things may become clearer for him. If they didn't. It was still enjoyable to do it. So why not?
"Dick? I was kidding! Though, you can expect a house warming gift, and maybe a couple of candles? You know, just incase your lights all of a sudden don't work."
Trying to stop him before he went to far in his defines. It was adorable to see. It hadn't been the reaction she had expected. She wasn't always good with sarcasm and the sense of humour of humans. Still it was cute to see, least it revealed to her what he did want and she didn't mind in the slightest that he was just honest he had a different taste. It didn't make it wrong. Kory sweetly confessed. Tapped a finger gently upon his cheek about a gift for his new place. Possibly just meaning herself, but a part of her was then thinking of an actual gift… Though she couldn't help it. Maybe just a couple of candles. To of course keep it feeling warm, when she wasn't there and incase something happened to his lights. Smiled innocently to him and giggling softly. Before moving for another kiss. Mostly thanking him, because he was a sweet man. Deep down he had probably a warmer heart than she did.
Then came the swift change in the music. A change much in Dick himself. Kory was happy to see him embrace it. Wow. Even feel it. She laughed softly. Feeling her own body moving with the smooth beats. It was defiantly the music to dance to. He was watching her. It was a nice feeling. Ok. Now this was not expected. Her eyes watched in glee. He actually worked some awesome moves. Kory wasn't as on point, but she kept a sexy vibe to her moves. Closer now she wanted him. It was defiantly exciting to watch him. Feeling him half blowing her mind. A spin. Wow. Her heart raced in joy. She couldn't help her laugh, but it was pure joyful laughs. He looked so happy. Kory was so happy. Twirling herself on her toes. Swayed her hips. Trying to fiddle with her feet as he had, find she tripped slightly, but she hardly minded. As she laughed. Her hands went above her head. Swaying with more intent. Her hands moved down her neck. It was a feel good beat. Keeping close. Her hands motioned to touch him when she was able, but in no ways to stop his moves. They were defiantly drawing her in. Even so felt her hand run up his body. Smiled softly. Before he slid to the other foot. Felt the muscles as they moved. Letting her hands fall free of him. Save a few light touched to his cheek. Just remaining close and her moves. She was dancing very much near on him. He was so good at this. Giggling as she shimmied her feet into the moonwalk. Lifting one foot up while the other one slid, then lifted it held it as she slide her other foot. Making some cool moves with her hands. Before doing a simple robotic move, Cyborg. The other Victor. Taught her. Swaying to more sexy moves. Her hips. Twirling… X'hal. She gleamed as his hand pulled her in. A hand fell to his hips. Feeling them shift. Mimicking with her own hips. It was a bit of joyful blur as he pulled off. Spun again. Wow. Her hand tousled through her wild hair. It was heating up already. Then he spun back towards her. She gasped a laugh. A joyful smile. He didn't know how incredible this was. Her hands felt upon either side of his neck. Dancing in his embrace. With a happy smile. She spun herself smoothly close to him. Half grinding against him, before facing him again. It was wow. Thankfully she didn't need air, she was sure he had taken it already. Still with her smooth moves. Swaying her hips left to right. There was a tingle where her hands touched the skin of his neck.
"Thank-you!
Kory simply said. Probably mouthed. She was so happy. He was so happy. Smiled. Her lips moved to his more directly. Still in the theme of fun and dancing to the music. As her arms made around him as she did. Still that slight barrier with her dress, but she was managing. She smiled brightly. Spun in the direction of his arms again. Faintly noticing as she did. A Mini Starfire was in distance. Oooh. Dr Jones as well. Kory was happy to see them enjoying themselves. At least she hoped. As her green eyes tried to notice how upset he was. Smiling softly. She could permit a dance with him, at some point… If he still wanted to be friends with her. Her eyes slightly shifted at the thought. Surely she couldn't of hurt him that badly, but from Dick's words. Perhaps she could cause that to happen… She just didn't want to be that cause. Dick soon took her attention back, somewhat. As she faced him again. He was very tempting. Very comforting. There she just knew, she felt the safest. Swaying with him to the music. More than comfortably. Brushed his cheek with her finger.
"So any hints to what this other surprise is? Was this, maybe it? Because I am defiantly surprised."
Recalling he said something about a surprise he had for her. She looked sweetly at him, perhaps he'd drop a hint if she was lucky, but she didn't like her odds. Unless. She looked at him kindly, as her fingers traced down his neck. If perhaps the dancing was the surprise. She knew he was good, but she couldn't remember him being this good. She pleasantly smiled. Swayed still with him. Her heart raced. Perhaps it didn't need to end so soon. A hand fell back near waist. Placed near at his torso. As her lips kept close to his, expecting he'd probably bust another move and Kory would only go dancing with him. Through the crowd. Smiling. Kory sang the song. The words. They couldn't be more fitting.

Victor found himself laughing abit as he was led onto the dance floor. "You're determined to dance aren't you?" He commented jokingly. He followed her to the dance floor, he didn't try to pull away or anything. He was more interested in trying to find a spot that was clear.
Before he could Force had found one. He followed her and then put his hands on his hips and was about to ask her if there's was any dance in particular she wanted to do... When she said that she had never danced like this before. Victor chuckled. "Well to tell you the truth. I haven't danced with anyone before. All my dances are either meant to be done with large groups or by myself."
He looked around quickly trying to take in the actions around him. He saw a basic trend starting and then he saw Dick and Kory... Or though his attention was mostly on Dick and his dance moves. He was honestly impressed. He then looked back to Force and took his fedora off to scratch his head. He put the fedora back on his head and looked at her.
"Well this is gonna sound like a cliche but I guess we quote 'feel the music'" He said with a smile. He shrugged. "We could either hold hands or dance like that couple over there." He said pointing over to a boy and a girl dancing together but not in the classic ballroom style.

"Yep!" Phoebe replies immediately to Victor, even though she suspects that the question was rhetorical. Because she really is quite determined to dance. To the point of willing to try it without him, in fact. She only asked him because she knew that he wanted to too.
And when he responds to her words by looking around at the others around them, she does the same. Nothing she sees anyone doing looks that difficult, but then again she's had a lot of practice learning how to move her body for someone her own age and everything looks easier until you try it. So she's confident in her ability to be a successful dancer, she just needs a bit of practice to get the hang of it is all.
She frowns lightly at his first instruction - yeah, that could stand to be a lot less vague. Then again, her observations of those around her aren't limited to what they're doing but includes a quick skim their thoughts as they're dancing. What he said is essentially correct - the people most used to doing it really are just 'feeling the music'. Still, that's only so helpful to a beginner.
And when he asks her which way they should try, she giggles a little. He really does try to pass on making decisions all the time. "You're the one showing me how to do it, and you're the adult here. So you should pick which way," she insists. And as she says this she's practically bouncing on the balls of her feet, obviously very eager to get started either way.

'Orphanage'. There was no work in the English language that would assure Babs would show up to an event. It wasn't just the fact that she was orphaned, which she felt would have been motivating enough, it was the fact that so many of those closest to her were orphaned. They all knew what it was like to have to deal with the loss of a parent. The only silver lining at that time had been that they weren't thrown into a situation where they were unsure of who would care for them. Babs had Jim Gordon, Dick had Bruce, Bruce had Alfred. She couldn't imagine what those poor kids without a support system had to go through. But she knew that it was enough for her to show up, dressed as her childhood dream (she was fairly sure she was the only uniformed police woman in attendance), and donate whatever amount of money the struggling college student could part with.
'Hosted by Starfire'. There were no string of words so assuring that Babs would not want to show up to an event. It wasn't as if Barbara actively wished bad things upon the woman (no, considering her line of work, that would really be tempting fate), but that didn't mean she felt the two of them should trade beauty secrets either. Objectively, Kory was sweet, charming, good for Dick. All the things that Babs would require to like a person. But she was...well, she was a sore spot. And the fact that she would be there meant Dick would be there, which mean that they would be there together. And Batgirl was just not sure she was ready to deal with that sort of thing. Not yet, anyway.
All of that being said, there she was, costume and all. She entered to the sound of lively music and people chatting before carefully scanning the room, her hand settled on the empty holster at her hip. The event seemed to be in full swing and, really, it looked very nicely put together. Kudos to Kory. The costumes were a bit ridiculous too, which was always fun. Robin Hood. Well, she had a pretty good guess as to who that was (especially since he was dancing with a very lovely alien dressed as a...circus?). Indiana Jones? Nice. And he seemed to be dancing with a little Starfire. That was just cute.
Deciding to no longer block the entrance, Barbara made her way inside. She should have brought someone. Someone from class or from the library. She was alright at talking to strangers, especially in this sort of scenario, but she had to admit that it was a little odd. She was used to attending these sorts of functions with a flock of bats. Whatever. She would find her stride.
Hey, chocolate fountain. Score. Barbara headed away from the dance floor and over to the pouring confection.

"You know in some odd way, I could tell for that your were confused. Maybe it's just because my training to pick up on stuff like that...But I knew and saw some fear in you over the new world," Dick replied to her.
It much reminded him of the day his life was flipped around. After the lose of his parents. Then the discovery of Bruce Wayne being Batman. Then becoming his side kick. That was quite a bit to take in when he was so young.
Times he would never forget. And the look Kory had had that day was fear. The fear of not understanding what was around her. She didn't know what the place was or who they were. He could understand that fear in a way. Just about any human went through that thought at some point.
"Hate to say it, but I can't be sure just at what time I'll make it back. There are a few things I need to take care of," Dick replied.
He knew she wouldn't want to hear that. But business was business. And he had a meeting on the docks after one to shut down a drug deal. Just another night in Bludhaven. And another battle on the streets to stop.
Sometimes it never got old. And the challenge in this city was the guns and muscle heads that were in the gangs. Though their leaders one step ahead of the law. But Nightwing was close on their game.
Dick smiles at Kory's comment over the lights going out. Of course he knew what that meant. She had her way of just getting to him.
"If the lights go out, I'll be sure to check that there is at least a star out and shining," Dick replied. Sure a little cheesy maybe. But with her starbolts or her personality alone could light up a room.
And the party was quite proof of that. It didn't take much for Kory to make friends. They were just naturally drawn to her. Why wouldn't they be? She was always so forward, positive, ad charming.
Through out their movement, they found themselves coming back to each other. Getting up close and seeming to just want to dance the night away. Dick knew he had surprised her with show this side. A guy could learn a lot in a year. And it wasn't like he just stuck to patrolling streets and college work all year. He was Dick Grayson and still needed to show that side of his life to the public. At least enough to show he was a young college student having fun.
Though some of the papers if he was caught would state he was following in Bruce Wayne's footsteps. Not something he was overly pleased to see when he read it or saw it on the gossip papers outside of local stores. But he found less and less of it as he had left Gotham.
As he slowed down a bit to be able to have a slight conversation with her. He smiled again at her guessing.
"The dancing wasn't suppose to be the surprise. There something in the other room that is something you might enjoy a bit more since you haven't had any since the fair," Dick replied. Dropping a rather bit hint there to her.
As they continued to dance and the song was reaching an end, Dick looked away for a moment. And then saw her...There was Barbara Gordon across the room. He knew that red hair from any where. His attention slipped a bit as he saw her standing over by the table.
His attention was definitely off now. Confusion as to what to do crossed his mind. Some what feeling maybe to leave her be. Or say hello. Or try to stay out of view. A little fear as to if he had upset her if she had noticed him and Kory.
"I didn't know she was here," Dick's words slipped out in a surprised tone and some what unsure of what to do or say.

Waking up in that bed, slightly wounded. Not understanding a word, it was in a lot of ways confusing. Even more so when the hooded woman came to her. Trying to get in her head. The citadel had followed her to earth. It was only natural after everything Koriand'r was put through that she would attack back with greater force. Doing what she could, to not be captured again. Not really realising then the destruction she was causing. Until Robin stopped her. Kory smiled softly, not surprised he recalled the day vividly. Mostly she just remembered feeling his kindness. Before feeling his lips.
"You have a kind heart, Dick and no one had shown me such kindness. In someway you made sense to me and I wanted to know more…"
Allowing her hand to lightly fall to Dick's chest. His heart. Reassuring him it wasn't just down to his training. Kory wasn't sure that was something someone could train. She was sure it was just who he was. It had been while since anyone had shown her such a warmth and kindness. Though the last people to give her that, were the ones that let her down and sold her into slavery. That was hardly a kindness. When she looked in his eyes, she felt something. Something new and exciting. Kory smiled as she confessed she just wanted to know more about him. The world he was from. Moved in to kiss him, just as she had before. To learn more about him. Just like before, still felt the joy. If she was afraid before that first kiss, she no longer was, because she had a friend. More than that. She had the titans. She had a family. All of them were from places and times, where they did not exactly fit in, but together they could unite. They grew up together.
"I understand. Just come when you can…"
It wasn't the most pleasurable thing to hear, but Kory understood. The last thing she wanted was him to rush or feel that need to. It wouldn't be wise. Any moment she could get, was better than nothing. Moving to kiss him again. Assuring when he did finally pop in, she would be there. Kory softly giggled a sweet laugh. Dick commenting on the lights. He was proving her point on his kind heart. He could be really sweet at times. Especially with his compliments. Making her feel special.
"I'm sure that star will help guide your way… We don't want you running into walls."
In any case Kory could blast him free of the walls, but she would be mindful to only when he needed. Smiled softly with a extra glow to her cheeks. The night was so far sensational. Enjoyable. Fun. Least it appeared everyone was having a good time. That was important to her. Not so much her own joy. Helping the children was just the icing on it all. Helping the innocent always brought such joy to Kory. They had just dreams and hopes. Kory bubbled up little joys of laughter. Of smiles. As together they danced. Not straying to far apart. Keeping close, while being amazed as Dick slid and turned into his movements. Doing little tricks with his feet. Kory tried to join in, but ended up settling into her moonwalk. Some robotic movements. Most of all realising Dick's enjoyment. When given the chance, Kory knew very well how he could let his hair down. Giggling as he spun her and came in close. As if a deep breathe. This was a perfect night. It truly was. Slowing down. Her hands pressed lightly upon his chest. Feeling gentle tingles of excitement as her eyes gleamed to see his smile. Felt her heart pace a little more. Not exactly sure what she did, but Kory was truly loving his surprises.
"It made me happy to see… We should go dancing more often… Well, when we can… OH MY! X'hal! Really? When can I see it? Is it one of those mirrors?"
Kory honestly commented with a smile. Before hinting in some way if they could go dancing again. If they found time between their work. Her voice trailed, not entirely sure if they were at any stage for some forms of actual dates. She lit up as Dick mentioned the other room. Her eyes quickly went in that direction. Suddenly felt her heart try to give way. Half to escape and run to the next room without her. She beamed as she asked. There was something special waiting for her. Besides Dick himself. She was so excited, half wondering why their still standing here. As she tested in her questioning. Hoping he would lead her to show her. Grinned as sweet as she could… Her mind ran with his hint. She just randomly guessed at that point with excitement. So many ideas were popping into her head. As they danced along some more, Kory was happy he was here and what ever this surprise was she knew it was straight from his heart. So kind… Gently rest her head against his shoulder. Then felt the slight unease. Oh, perhaps it was too soon? Kory questioned. Then her eyes went to his and saw concern? Before Kory could question to understand, Dick spoke. Drawing Kory's eyes to where his were. Upon the policewoman by the fountain. Barbara. Then she understood. There was a lot of uncertainty. Even Kory felt bad, she hadn't meant to and didn't exactly know at the time, she possibly came between them.
"Oh… She made it… Oh, I sent her an invitation… I hope you don't mind… Just give me a moment I'll go and greet her."
Kory very kindly remarked a sweet surprise to see her over there. Happy Barbara had made it. Kory just wished to be as civil as she could. Her eyes seeing the surprise look on Dick's face to see Barbara here. Admitting she had sent a friendly invite, well to all on Gotham really, but she made sure to invite Barbara. Wasn't any real motive behind it, Kory just thought it was the right thing to do. Last thing she wanted was to be the cause of more pain or hurt. Calmly commented to Dick knowing he wasn't entirely sure what to do. Whether to speak to Barbara or not. Though Kory could. She understood emotions very well and plus she was hosting. It was the polite thing to do. She could try and make a little bit of peace. Though was open for Dick to come over anytime with her if he liked. Kory slipped from where they were on the dance floor. Gave him a sweet smile. Before she made her way through the crowd and off the dance floor. Kindly made her way over to where Barbara stood.
"Greetings Barbara… I'm so glad you could make it. I can see you are enjoying the sweet confections… How are you enjoying the party? That's a lovely costume."
Kindly extended to shake Barbara's hand. Not trying to make things awkward, she was sure Barbara didn't want to see Kory, but Kory knew she wanted to least be polite and greet her. After all she had come to her party to help support the help for the children. Kory was making sure she greeted and thanked as many as she could. Any help would go along way. Sweetly commenting on Barbara's choice on the chocolate fountain. She was happy to see that. Kindly asking. Kory was hoping even Barbara was having fun. Smiled friendly as Kory was admiring her costume. Her dream was a policewoman. It seemed very fitting. Kory knew how great a hero and an inspiration Batgirl truly was to this city. Kory wouldn't say much, just to hopefully start being on better terms, but Kory knew it wouldn't be so easy. Kory was here whenever Barbara wished to talk.

When Force stated that he was the adult that that he was teaching her he took his fedora off just long enough to scratch his head then he placed it back on his head. "Ok dance is one of the things I can't teach." He said.
He heard a song starting to play and simply looked at his feet listening to the music. He didn't normally do much dancing so he didn't really know what to do at the moment. He chuckled abit as he looked at Force. "I'm gonna do something I don't normally do." He said. "I'm gonna try and cut loose on the dance floor." He said with a small grin.
He then started slightly shifting his weight back and forth from one foot to another. He wasn't being very active and it was plain to see that he was somewhat uncomfortable doing this.
'Victor I'm a wolf and I know this isn't dancing.' Lupin commented to him. 'You came to a dance so you need to dance.' The mental wolf insisted. 'I'm dancing.' Victor replied. 'Look just step the way I tell you too.' Lupin said. He then started calling out motions much like a game of twister.
It started with Victor taking two steps forward then two steps back. He then took two steps to the right then another two to the left. Then a thought crossed his mind. Kory had been impressed by Dick's dance moves. 'I'll take it from here.' He told Lupin.
Now he was on his own no help from anyone or anything. He started to rock back and forth on his feet with a slight bounce in his moves. He then spun to the left on the tip of his left foot and started to kick his legs out energetically Letting his arms flow on their own. Spinning to the right he bounced into the air pumping his fist in the air. He then fell back and caught himself with his hands and then paused himself back onto his feet. He then moved his right foot around himself in a semi circle bouncing on his left foot. Then to finish it off he wrapped his right foot around behind his left and grabbed his fedora throwing it up into the air with a spin. He then spun on the balls of his feet and made a complete turn catching his fedora just before it hit the ground. He placed it back on his head and started laughing.
He had completely forgotten about his earlier confession of love towards Kory Also he wasn't. He had even forgot the reasoning that made him go all out with a dance. As far as he could tell he was at a party having a good time. He looked at Force with a huge smile. "How was that?" He asked still laughing.

When he says that he can't teach her, Phoebe frowns at him skeptically. She's pretty sure that he could if he gave it a shot. She smiles encouragingly when he says that he's going to try, though she can't help but giggle a little when his attempt is... well, not that good. Fortunately, she hears Lupin interrupt him with more specific directions, though even then it's really basic stuff. She finds herself getting a little bit impatient - she could probably do better than that.
Though when he shrugs off the wolf's advice and starts dancing more on his own, she can't help but giggle at his moves again, though this time he actually seems to be having a lot of fun. When asked for her opinion, she laughs and comments, "Well, you looked like you had fun." She's definitely a novice dancer and therefore can't be sure of her opinion on whether or not it was actually good, or not, but it looked like it pleased him.
But all this watching him dance, makes her really want to give it a shot. Though she doesn't think that his moves suit her. But then again, after observing him and the other dancers for a bit, she's gotten some ideas. "My turn!" she announces, though she pauses for a moment before she begins. While she may have never learned to dance, she did learn something else about moving her body while she was with the FBI: a little bit of combat training. Not much since she's so young and her powers make physically fighting generally unnecessary, but the powers that be thought that she ought to learn some basic defensive moves. Which, she notes, are rather like some of the dance moves she sees around her. Only the dance moves don't involve someone attacking you, and are performed with more energy and flair. She thinks that she can do that...
Listening and bouncing to the beat for a moment, she suddenly shifts left and then right in time to the beat, turning the move right into a complete spin. Then she jumps high, falling into a crouch. She shifts her weight back, jumps to her feet, and twists her entire upper body into a circle. Then for a last bit of flair, she does a side flip to the left so that she ends up standing by Victor again, finishing off by a quick spin in place. All of her movements show the careful control of someone who has practiced before, rather than the clumsiness of a ten year-old who is just goofing off. But she's giggling when she finishes, asking Victor, "How about that?"
Though no sooner does she ask the question than a side glance at the crowd causes her to spot Kory talking to someone she doesn't recognize. "Do you know who that is?" she asks Victor, with a vague gesture at the two women. Since she already obviously knows who Kory is, obviously she means the other one.

Dick got a bit closer to Kory as they spoke. Slowing his pace of dance for now. And as they spoke it would be as coded to those around them. The only ones that would most like understand them would be someone of the same profession as far as the whole hero/vigilant thing.
But there were phrases in that between them that no one except them would understand. At Kory's words he gave a smile.
"I'll try not to be too late. But you never know with the traffic around here," he started.
He gave a smile over her comment about a star and a wall. Of course she would bring that up. "Well this time we'll both try to avoid any type of walls that seem to come up out of no where," Dick said.
"We'll have to see about the more dancing part of that comment. I'm not one for all eyes to turn to us. And at least I'm in costume here," Dick replied. "As for the gift, we can get it soon."
And shortly after that, he let Kory slip away for a moment to talk with Barbara. Dick just wanted to stay back a while more. It was still a bit awkward between the two of them.
