It had taken a while to finally get the chance to make it, almost on time to Kory's charity party. Dick had promised her that he would come out that night and support the event and support her as well. How late he'd be able to stay...He wasn't sure. Nightwing was needed on the streets that night. There were more leads coming in on a few cases and he needed to get to work. But he could take off before it got too lately. A few hours wouldn't hurt. Kory knew how important his work was. But he knew how important this was for Kory. Dick had gotten there a little later than he had hoped. It seemed like quite a few people were already starting to turn up. Walking into the building, his eyes scanned the area right away. Looking for that one familiar face he had promised he would be there. And of course it didn't take long for him to spot the tall red headed alien princess. He smiled at the sight of her. She hadn't noticed he'd arrive. He costume of course was an expression of Kory, written all over it. It was not not like Kory to wear something crazy and fun. She enjoyed making people laugh. Dick headed her way, getting lost in a few small crowds and going around the many obstacles the decorations had turned the place into a candy land. He then did recognize someone standing near her. He wasn't sure what the conversation was about from where he was standing he couldn't hear. But he recognized the man as the guy he bumped into at Gotham University that one day. Victor Grant. He didn't think he would see him for a while. But it looked like he knew Kory some how. That was new to him. He didn't mind, but then again he had never mentioned about most of the people he met at times. And there was a little girl standing close dressed as a mini Starfire. He wasn't sure if he had seen the kid before. But there was something about her. Dick would go on to let that pass as he gets closer to the group. A smile on his face when he sees Kory and get closer. "Hey, Kor. Sorry I'm running a bit late. Had to finish up a few things before I headed out," Dick said as he walked up. That was pretty much code for he had been working on a case file before he got here. Getting the information he would need for the night to go out and patrol later on. And of course he wouldn't come to Kory's costume charity party without being dressed for the part. He wore an old style of leather boots that folded at the top of them and came a bit higher than mid calf. And he wore a pair of black trousers that were tucked into the boots. The upper half of him was sporting a light weight hunter greenish gray long sleeve shirt, layered with a brown leather vest. A belt secured around his waist. The green shirt had a hood attached to it that he had up at the time. It cut into a v on to his chest slightly. And he wore leather cut off gloves that his fingers were free. And to finish it off, he had a sheath of arrows strapped to his back and a bow slung over his shoulders. Very much so looking the part of a mid renaissances character, but with a modern twist with the hood rather than the feathered cap that was classic for the character he portrayed. At first look it would almost be close to that of Green Arrow. But this was the more modern look of Robin Hood. It was more edgy that the way with the old feathered cap. And it was much suited to Dick's style of being laid back. He wasn't much for going to these types of events. Though for Kory, he would do it. "You're Victor Grant, right," Dick spoke up to the man standing near Kory. He looked a little unsettled over something. But Dick would leave that be if that was the case. He knew who the man was, he was just trying to start something. "How did the interview at Gotham University go for ya," he added in recalling the reason why the man had been there. This was the best he could do to start a small conversation. "And I see we have a second Starfire in our midst." He gave a kind smile to the child that was along side of Victor. There was no telling how smart the girl was or how well she was reading Kory's thoughts. Thankfully her mind was mostly on the cheerful things. Force didn't need to see everything of Kory's past, it wasn't real the fairy tale story of the princesses told on Earth, but Kory was still alive. Not Giving up. Reaching her orange hand. Smiles sweetly as Mini Starfire accepts it. Now knowing her name. Not exactly her real name, but Kory could respect Force wanting to keep it protected. Kory's smiled brightened to officially greet her and thinking Force did quite suit her. Her eyes shot over Force kindly as she became a little nervous about Kory's offer. Kory hadn't meant to make her uncomfortable, if she had and sweetly smiles as Force kindly says no.
"If you ever change your mind the offer is always there."
Kory spoke respecting Force's choice, but kindly leaving the option always there. If by chance she might find a friendship there. It was usual for Kory to be like this to anyone she meets unless given a reason, she generally seeks the good in people, its just second nature to her. Kory was raised in paradise. They were extremely joyful race. Positive. Honest. They rarely knew lies, no where near that on Earth. So it wasn't something Kory ever expected from anyone she met. From all that she could see Force was a good girl. A good person, that was all she needed to know. There was powers and strength in the girl. Kory could feel that, from Kory's point of view, they were meant to be there, but it wasn't what defined the girl. Just as it wasn't for Kory or anyone. Right now Kory could feel the girl's heart. There was always room for a little guidance, but Kory wasn't the type to use force.
Suddenly the mood had somewhat swirled around. As Victor had soon confessed his affections. He stood so close, but Kory could feel as if he felt miles away. The change in his colour. Kory hadn't wished to hurt Victor, but lying to him would only make it worse. Not mention it would have hurt her more. Her eyes kept upon him. Watched. A little concerned. Kindly smiling, she wouldn't just run off and let him deal with this. It had taken him all the courage to speak his emotions. As if slowly Kory could see him coming back. The warmer she smiled to see him more present. Then upon hearing his words. As if he even needed to ask.
"Of course we're still friends and friends are always honest."
Kory said with full confidence with her response. It was a wee bit difficult with the skirt of her dress, but she motioned to pull Victor into some form of a hug. She was happy that Victor had been honest with her. Had opened up. It was better out than kept inside. Though she couldn't deny her own honesty. It might not take over night for Victor to truly realise it all, but Kory was sure in time, he would move on from this. Stronger. There was that faint little sign he was looking a little better. Kory knew that feeling anytime she expressed her own feelings. It was a very good feeling. Calmly retreating from the hug. Kory grinned at Victor's comment. He didn't know how right he was. Smiled even more as Force was trying to help. The support of friends had defiantly helped.
"It was very brave… Now there is fun to be shared at this party, Dr Jones. Mini Starfire. A little joy goes along way… Now, balloons… Now Mini Starfire. As we don't breathe air, we're gonna have to do our best to encourage Victor."
Kory very kindly told Victor. It should defiantly not discourage him. Shifting to thoughts of more joy. They were at Kory's party and she was sure it would help cheer him up. Joy was always a good place to start. Her smile then turned to a grin. Then recalling the blowing up the balloons. Playfully looking to Mini Starfire, commenting about the no air in a Tamaranean. Giving her a friendly smile before offering Victor a balloon. It was up to him if he wanted to start moving on in someway.
After some time and space. Some of the guests had arrived and were arriving. Music now played in the background. The smell of candy was very much there. Soon as Kory was among friends, came Dick's voice. He was here. He had come. Kory smiled brightly. Quite excited. Her green eyes caught his smile as he greeted her. The second she saw him, her jaw half fell open. He could be very surprising when he wanted to be. Her heart half rang why had he told her. Oh, right. The surprise element. She giggled sweetly. Motioned her arms to hug him and greet him with a kiss to his cheek.
"Greetings! I'm so happy you came Dick and I can't believe you dressed up. I love it… You look handsome!"
There wasn't much change in her tone, she was genuinely excited. She didn't mind. Didn't mind at all that he was late. The important thing was that he was here. Pulling back a little as to best get a look at his costume. It was half Green Arrow and very Robin Hood. It was perfect. He made nearly anything look good. At the end of her words and gave him another small kiss to his cheek. She of course couldn't get to close, as her dress made it slightly difficult. Though it wouldn't stop her from trying. She was feeling a tingle all over. There was no question, she knew who she was in love with. It was like asking why the sky it blue, it just is. Smiling sweetly as Dick then greeted Victor. From his words. Her eyes half darted between them. Wait? Was she missing something? She thought jokingly.
"Victor's the kind man I met in the park… I take it you've already met? "
Kory hadn't told Dick everything about meeting Victor, but she had mentioned him a little bit. She knew what Donna would say about the whole be careful and sometimes even Dick would, but Kory was confident in trusting Victor. She wasn't trying to hide anything, but part was she was generally confused with whole keeping other people's secret thing. Half the time when with Dick she was mostly distracted. Kory asked amusingly pointing out the obvious. Kory smiled at Dick spotting the next generation superhero.
"And a very good one at that… Have you been practising your starbolts?"
Kory couldn't agree more. She was so cute. Adorable. Brave and strong. Of course Kory was sure the girl didn't have real starbolts, but a good thing about being a child. Is the imagination. As Kory asked kindly. Putting her hand out, of course not with any real starbolt, but to show the motion. Just trying to have fun with the girl. She was still in awe the girl was in some way looking up at Kory. It was a great feeling and another reason she could never give up. She wouldn't let this world die nor the children in it. As more guests started to arrive. The more joyful it was feeling. The dreams were beginning.

Victor still felt somewhat confused about everything. It wasn't the first time he had been this close to a woman, granted it was his first time this close to an alien woman. But it was his first time having had told said woman how he felt about her. And the first time the woman had told him what Kory had just told him... He felt slightly sad and yet happy at the same time.
Suddenly he felt his feelings change. He still felt embarrassed, but for a different reason. He had forgotten about Force. He didn't do that very often. And it always bothered him when he did. He hoped that she would understand. This whole situation was new to him.
He looked Kory with a small smile as she said that they were still friends. "Ok...." He looked at the balloon Kory had in her orange hand. He looked her in the eyes then back to the balloon. Then shrugged and reached to get the balloon.
After a while they had got quite a few balloons ready. His face was still red. But now it was because of all the blowing. It was funny. He wasn't nervous anymore. Though his mind still went back to the fact that Kory was already in love with someone else. He wanted to know who... And why.... What did he have that he didn't have. What did he have?
Then he noticed a new smell approaching them. He then heard a voice. He turned to see who it was. And felt a feeling of deja vu. He had seen this guy before. He narrowed his eyes some trying to find out why. He noticed he was dressed as a sorta new style Robin Hood. He thought it looked good on him.. But he would have gone with the feather cap... But then again that was just Victor.
When Kory greeted him Victor noticed something that most humans wouldn't have noticed... Her smell.... Or rather her scent changed... It wasn't a major change but it was a change. He couldn't quite tell what it was and tried to find out what was causing her scent to change.
Then the man called him by name. Not just his first name.. But his last name too. He thought quickly and then realized who this man was. "Hey Dick! Been a while." He said in greeting... Though slightly out of breath due to all the balloons. The two Starfire's had an unfair advantage and they sure were using it alright.
Then he smiled. "It went well. I didn't like it but then I went back a while later and got my job as a history teacher." He said with a proud grin. Then he turned to Kory. "Yeah I met him at GothamU. I met him outside the dean's office." He said.
'Why are you so quite Lupin. He asked Lupin.
'Well I'm trying to give you the time to sort things out. Lord knows you need to.' The mental wolf said using a phrase that he picked up from Victor. 'And I'm thinking that you would need to simply move on'
Victor wondered what he meant by that. But right now he couldn't let himself get to drawn in to talking to Lupin. And Lupin was starting to get irritated by him. 'Lupin! Humans don't have mating rituals like that. Just because she has feelings for someone else, doesn't mean I have to give up! I'm not a wolf!' He mentally said to Lupin. He may have been getting short with Lupin but he was managing to keep it within his own mind... Well he knew that Force would be able to hear it. But at least he wasn't saying those things out loud.

As unfortunate as it is that her ability to read people's thoughts sometimes means Phoebe has to deal with very unhappy thoughts, at least when it's Kory's unhappy thought there's so much happiness even with the sadness that it doesn't get her too down. And, for better or for worse, she's used to having that problem. People don't just start thinking about sunshine and daisies just because a child is reading their mind, after all. In fact, Kory's is a lot more pleasant to read.
She smiles and says, "Okay," when the alien says that she's free to change her mind later. That might actually be accepted - it all depends on how things go. She really doesn't trust anyone very easily at all, perhaps the polar opposite of Kory in that respect. But she really, really appreciates the genuineness of everything that the woman says and does - in fact it was that aspect of Victor's thoughts about Kory that impressed her the most. She loves it when people are like that! What she doesn't trust so much at the moment though is the intensity and passion - that could turn problematic in the long term.
In the short term, however, she's just enjoying the company. Though she's rather disappointed for Victor's sake that it turned out that Kory already had someone. But like she told him a long time ago, there's a lot of girls on this planet. A lot. Or... Well, she senses from Victor's thoughts that he isn't prepared to throw in the towel yet. That could be trouble... But he's a full-grown adult and she's a little girl, and that's not a very clear-cut question and who knows, maybe he'll figure out a way to change Kory's mind. And she knows when to respect a person's privacy, which is why she plans on keeping that to herself. Let all of them work that out by themselves without her meddling.
Though she does in fact breathe air, she doesn't feel guilty about sitting out of blowing out balloons - she's terrible at it. She might fill one in the time it takes someone else to do ten. But she's very good at offering encouragement.
Later, when a young man dressed like an archer joins them, she's content to remain quiet while she listens to everyone find out that they all already know each other. It's a small world sometimes... But when the conversation switches over to her, Phoebe offers Dick a big grin at the comment on her costume. Having met Kory in person, she's liking it even more. But it isn't until Kory asks her about her starbolts that Phoebe actually says anything. "Yep!" she replies, "Only mine are invisible..." Copying Kory's movement, she 'aims' at the nearest balloon, which seems to pop spontaneously when she 'fires'. Actually she accomplishes it by using her telekinesis to pierce it at the right moment, but close enough, right?

"You're not looking too bad yourself," Dick return in complement to Kory. He accepts her kiss and smiles at her.
He wasn't the type to go around and cuddle and such in public all that much. Especially in front of some people he hardly knew. And with the child standing there. It was a bit of a restrain for now. Kory knew how he got at times. Besides didn't mean he didn't lower the walls when he was just spending time with Kory.
"I remember you mentioning something of that," Dick replied to Kory.
As Victor told him of the new job and them running into each other at the dean's office, he nodded in return. "Glad to hear it worked out and that you remain in Gotham," Dick said.
Since most seem to try and spend as little time as possible in Gotham because of the town. And not having a job was the best reason for moving on it seemed. But for others it worked out fine adjusting to the life.
And at the child's reaction over his comment about her costume he smiles back at her. As then Kory shows the form she takes when she attacks with the starbolts. Dick could recall a time making her fire at time at a practice session and how she had refused to at first, afraid she might hurt him. But he had been able to prove to her he would be fine. Sure it had hurt, but he had only be encouraging her to unleash more of her power.
It was all a faded blur from the past. Just another of the many memories they shared together as Titans. Right now his mind was set on the scene around him. The people moving about. He was always alert to his surrounding. Force of habit.
Dick lowered the hood from upon his head to reveal the short shaggy black hear that often fell into place on it's own. Causal was just the easy way to go, and it suited him fine.
"Looks like things are going well. I didn't miss anything did I," Dick replied, starting up a bit of conversation over the event. But with him being late, one might think about how late he had gotten there as in avoiding something.
But in reality he had just had some work on his computers to finish up and not to mention the move to Bludhaven was still in the process. There was quite a bit he had to rearrange in the new place and fix up in the old.

The night was starting to pick up a little more in joy. Kory knew it wasn't going to be easy for Victor. It was as if the look in his eyes had changed. There was maybe no changing back, but there was a part in them that Kory knew he would be fine. It was hard to tell how comforted he was, that Kory was still very much a friend and that she did care for him. The balloons were in ways to help, Kory least was trying to enlighten the mood. Victor soon accepting the next balloon. As the balloons were blown, Kory tied them and set them in place for the party. A good mix of colour throughout the place. There were of course little comments Victor was more looking like a flat blow fish, but Kory was very appreciative of his help. This was a party for a good cause. Children. One after another, more balloons. Kory cheered as more came along. It seemed to be helping. From what Kory could tell and feel. Life hadn't ended, it was still very much there. Smiled thankfully to Victor. With his red cheeks and all.
Kory hadn't realised Victor was smelling out, Dick. Kory really hadn't noticed other than seeing Dick suddenly in a costume. Not only that. He was here for her party. Her best friend and surely her excitement had taken hold a little bit. Happy to see Dick smile and mostly just happy to see Dick here. He certainly wasn't the cuddles type in public and Kory was aware of that, not that she totally understood the reason exactly. Then not many were as comfort and open as Kory was. She didn't question what others thought so much. Kory smiled warmly at Dick's compliment. It always was sweeter coming from him. Her smile brightened as her hands patted her own costume.
"Oh Thank-you, really you think so, Robin Hood? I thought the circus was a good fit. Look there's even an little acrobat… Is the bow and arrows real?"
Kory kindly thanked and asked Dick. Twirling a little, showing off the creation a little more. She was the living Circus. She thought amusingly. It defiantly expressed her joyous side. Her orange hand pointed to one of the figures. A little figure, almost resembling a little flying Grayson, a touch of Robin. Kory smiled sweetly. Her eyes still playfully running over Robin Hood. Her hand gently motioned to play with certain parts of the fabrics. Even a bow. Arrows. Kory curious whether they were real, she might need to see how he aimed, but of course later in the night. A more safer place. Oh. Kory had mouthed. Nodding along as Victor and Dick spoke. How they came to meet. She did recall Victor mentioning about a job there. Kory was happy they seemed to have gotten along, seemed friendly. She would hope this would make things easier.
"Congratulations. You've defiantly taught me a lot since I met you and not to mention he's a very gifted photographer. So I know the photos of the party will be amazing… What were you doing in this office?"
Kory beamed to hear to congratulate Victor on getting the job, though there was always room to congratulate him on it again. And again. And again. She sure wouldn't know where to start with a job like that. Kory mostly knew the role of a warrior and oddly found her way into modelling. Was also happy to point out Victor's skills with a camera, but she was gathering Dick probably already knew that. There was no choosing who was better out of Victor and Donna, they were just different. Though Donna was busy, Kory was very joyed to have Victor taking pictures. Which he was free to start doing anytime. Listening upon this meeting at the office, Kory curiously asked why Dick was at the office. Kory wasn't again in a great know of the university life, save hearing from friends. Friends like Dick Grayson. Did something happen to have Dick going to this office?
It isn't surprise the girl is such a hit. The Starfire outfit was only enhancing how unique the girl. Catching the bright grin to Dick. How sweetly and quite polite the girl. There were defiant Tamaranean like traits. She was also very smart, Kory was sure about that. Happy to leave the offer for flying together open for the girl. In a dark city like this and crazy big world, there was always room for a little fun. Not to mention flying could be relaxing after more practise. Kory lighted up kindly as Mini Starfire responded about the starbolts. At her comment of invisible, Kory smiles having assumed she didn't have real starbolts. She would rather hope not. Kory wasn't exactly born with starbolts. Sure the energy that create them had always run in her veins, but it was after the experiments. Almost putting her energy in over charge. Allowing the starbolts from her eyes and hands. They were easiest way for control, though she could generate energy and heat from her entire body. Kory was very confident in her powers, but there was also a lot she did hold back. She was capable of reaching super nova, its rarely happened. Then a little surprised. Of course pleasantly as the balloon pops that the girl had aimed at.
"Wow. Just Wow… I think Gotham will be sleeping easy tonight… Did you see Dick? Real jewels for a tamaranean princess."
Kory kindly said in slight amazement and applauded sweetly. She was seeming more and more fitting for Starfire. Kory lightly commenting, that Gotham was sounding safer. Especially with two Starfire's tonight. Plus a wolf. Plus a Nightwing. Somewhere maybe even a Bat or a Misfit. Kory then kindly of course pointing out jewels she had offered Force. The armband now a necklace. She was defiantly wearing them with pride. Kory smiled, it was also nice to see someone else touched by the beauty of Tamaran. Catching Dick pulling his hood down. Kory smiles to see his face clearer, his signature hair. He couldn't look more fine. No she wasn't about to linger far from him tonight. There wasn't going to be many nights in Gotham, she was gathering with the shifting to Bludhaven. For both Nightwing and Starfire. She of course wasn't going there to overshadow him, but she could lend a hand. Not to mention he was the touch that made Earth more of a home.
"Apart from a broken balloon machine, but with Victor's help we've got balloons and besides the lack of Cotton Candy. It's going really well, the turn out has been amazing. Already from the tickets and donations, I believe we've raised more than expected. No. There's plenty of fun to be had. In fact I would love to dance…"
Kory mentioning how the party was already starting to stack up as hopefully a really good party as it wasn't something Kory did often. A part from some very small issues, one of which Victor helped solve as Kory smiled brightly to him. The money thus raised was going along way for the children of Gotham. As far as Dick missing anything. No, the night was young enough. Kory assured him if he was concerned he might have. There were some circus performances and music performances to fill the stage with entertainment. Kory of course mentioned her desire to dance, somehow got the impression Dick had wanted to ask but was maybe unsure whether to ask. With all the setting up. Kory could defiantly be having more fun. In fact the dance floor had plenty room for all. Smiling kindly over to Dick. Lightly blushing herself, it had been sometime since their nights in the nightclubs, but Kory was sure just as fun.

Seeing as Victor was still rather confused about how he felt he decided to simply keep quite so that he didn't let slop something that could possibly make things awkward. That and he was trying to find a way to ignore Lupin. Then when he heard Kory congratulate him for getting the job he smiled. "Thanks. I'm glad I got it." He said, another reason he was glad he got the job was that he managed to keep his promise to his uncle.
When she mentioned his skills at photography he took a quick look at his camera so that he could make sure it was ready to go. He didn't want to interrupt Kory as she talked. There was something up about these two. He hadn't quite put his finger on what it was yet.
When he heard Dick say that he was glad things worked out and that its nice he was remaining in Gotham he couldn't help but smile proudly. "If I left the city simply because its rough would do shame to my ancestry. Not to mention my uncle." He said. He was so caught up in what he was saying that he momentarily forgot about his feelings at the moments.
When Force popped the balloon Victor simply acted. "No not my balloons!" He said in a comically squeaky voice and a huge smile on his face.
After Dick and Kory talked some more Victor looked at his watch. "Well I guess I should get started. I'm gonna borrow the stage for a sec." He said with a quick nod. He was still feeling embarrassed about what had happened but he wasn't going to hold back. 'What does this guy have that I don't have?' He asked Lupin as he walked to the stage.
When he reached to the stage he looked out at the people and tapped the mike. "Hi... Just a quick announcement.... I'm the photographer for tonight. And if any of you want a picture with a friend, family member, or that special someone then meet me over there..." Then he pointed to where he would be then paused. "Pictures are free but donations are welcomed." He then walked over to where he was gone take pictures.
As he was waiting for people to come over to him he found himself watching Kory and Dick dance.... Then something dawned on him. 'No...... Its him!' He thought.
'Well to answer your question Victor.' Lupin began. 'He seems to have perfect vision, roguishly good looks, and a history with her. Oh and not to mention dark hair.' Lupin said plainly.
'I need to tell you what a rhetorical question is.' Victor said bitterly. He didn't know what to think now.

Phoebe may not have real starbolts, but she does have a lot of her own kind of power to wield. How much, not even she knows, as the people who trained her were wise enough to know that it was more important to teach her to control them first before they worried about just how strong they are. But certainly far more than a popped balloon would suggest - that she limited her showing off to that was actually a demonstration of very real restraint on her part.
She giggles loudly at Victor's over-dramatic reaction to her destruction of the balloon knowing that the loss of just one is not that big of a deal. Especially after she sees how pleased Kory seems to be by that - totally worth it! Though when Kory points the armband/necklace, she smiles but also starts to feel an unusual emotion for her - a little shyness. Which catches her a bit off guard since she's used to having people's attention on her. But that was in a completely different context, she'd been working and not playing. And the people watching her weren't paying attention to her so much as they were paying attention to her powers, and right now Kory especially is being far nicer and attentive than she's used to. Then again, the unfamiliar feeling is still rather small, and causes her to simply fidget and glance away as she touches the jewels again.
When Victor says that he's going to get started with the pictures, and sensing that Kory and Dick's thoughts are turning to each other, she comments, "I'm going to go find something to eat..." Victor doesn't need a second shadow, and the other two don't need a third wheel, and she really is hungry. And she'd spotted several grotesquely unhealthy things to solve that problem with earlier, so she starts wandering through the crowd to hunt them down.

"The bow is. The arrows a more formatted for practice work than the work for hunting. But you can get some pretty good results with them when tested out on a target range," Dick replied in answer of Kory's question.
If they had been the real deal the craft of the arrows would be a bit heavier and accurate in getting the best speed and resistance to them when fired off.
"I do recall you saying that day something about going around Gotham and taking a few photos," Dick responded to Victor. And then once again to answer another question of Kory's. "It was no big deal. Just a scheduling conflict," he said.
He gave a smile at the child and nodded at Kory's asking if he had seen it. He was between conversation with Victor at the time.
As everything seems to be settling and Kory seemed to be placing him on her list of her's of what she wanted to do that night. He knew she would want to be out there dancing. He wasn't in particularly up for it. But this was Kory, could he say no?
"Catch you later Victor," he said as Victor seemed to want to head out knowing something was up between the two.
And he was shortly after followed by the girl. She was quite clever. And Dick was starting to think now he might have an idea of who she was. But he didn't say. There was the chance he could be wrong on it.
"Alright. We'll dance for a bit," Dick said. "I have a surprise for you later..
He took a hold of her hand and led her toward the dance floor.

It wasn't to hard to guess that Victor was still feeling the effects of what had just happened. Kory could see the changes in his manners, just slightly and trying to keep going. Kory was pleased he didn't seem mad or angry about it at all. Not that there be reason to, but all she could do is give him some space and when she could show she was his friend. With the party for the goodness of things, were sure to lift some spirits. Her green eyes gleamed to see Victor smile and thank her. Kory kindly smiled back, from the sounds he had defiantly deserved the congratulations. If not more.
Before soon her lips formed a slightly different smile. Listening to Dick telling her about the bow. The arrows. Nodded along, happy to listen. Kory did know weaponry, but ones found on Tamaran. Surprisingly she is quite skilled with a spear. Smiling though that Dick was quite invested in them. It was becoming more and more of a fitting look, yet she still could see him for who he was.
"If your planning to do some target practise, Dick. I'd love to watch.
Kory smiled sweetly that could be quite fun to watch, of course not exactly at the party. That might be a little too much fun. Hmmm. Could help bring the balloons down later? Though even then sounded a bit dangerous and flying just made things easier sometimes. Kory was rest assured at Dick's response to why he was in the office. Upon listening to Dick and Victor talk. Kory's eyes gleamed a little more to Victor's words of staying Gotham. There a defiant place for him here. Just as there was in the world, but Kory was happy he was here when Kory was. So she could make a new friend and hopefully in someway helped him more than she might have hurt him.
"Well, I'm sure I say on behalf of Gotham. That, the city is glad to have you, Dr Jones."
Kory encouragingly said to Victor in response to what had been said. A playful wink and kind smile. Gotham was rough and that was exactly why it was perfect he was here. It needed protection. Kory smiled to also hear Dick had in fact known of Victor's photo skills. Well to some extent it seemed. At Victor's reaction to Force popping the balloon, Kory also laughed. Playfully with a shake to her head. The party would go on with one less balloon. Kory lifted her head at Victor's words of him going off, but not far. She smiled kindle to see his nod. His half quick exit. Though there was a party to host. To help lead out the fun and although Victor was working. Kory was sure to make points to be sure he was also having fun.
"Ok? Sure, go ahead. Are you going to perform some of your tricks with the whip?"
Kory half questioned as Victor mentioned using the stage. Kory was defiantly happy for him to use it, but she was also curious as to why? A surprise? Before her eyes played at the whip. Grinned at him. Before long Victor had walked off. Soon found the stage. Wasn't what she had expected, she though amusingly, but smiled at Victor's word about the donations. Any help was defiantly good help. Not long and not hard for her attention to be drawn back to Mini Starfire. Whom she had only just met and curious to who the girl really was. Not so much name. History, but who she was. So far she seemed such a kind and smart girl. Kory was defiantly on her way of considering her a friend. Not just the fact she was a friend of Victor's. Kory smiled softly. Kindly. At the girl's shyness when Kory pointed out the jewels to Dick. Kory was just proud the girl took them with such grace and kindness. There wasn't a lot of Tamaran left, but in Force Kory did see hope. And Hope is all this world truly needed. It was a very strong base of what was Tamaran. Kory smiled softly, Tamaran was never far from her heart.
"It really was a pleasure meeting you and gratitudes for coming to the party. If you need anything Mini Starfire, just ask I won't be far. Defiantly check out the chocolate fountain. Oh, if you see any trouble and you need back up. Just buzz me… We Starfires' need to stick together… Have Fun! "
Kory spoke kindly to Mini Starfire. Motioned for a hug. If she accepted it of course. It was just a simple friendly gesture. Thanking her for coming. She really was honoured she had come dressed as Starfire. It was a sweet gesture. Though Kory let out the offer out of a friend that if the girl did need anything, to not hesitate, just ask. She didn't want to leave the girl alone and hoped the party would defiantly be joyful for her. Offering a friendly gesture to the Chocolate fountain. Well at least a place to start, there was defiantly enough food. Smiling brightly again, just hoping Mini Starfire have fun, before she began wandering off. Keeping a kind eye for a few moments. Before smiling sweetly to Dick to his words. Her green eyes half played down. Suddenly he made her even more happy, but in truth the fact he was here, meant more to her than he could know. Half feeling trouble finding her breath. Her cheeks flushed sweetly as he took her hand. Suddenly a rush came to her heart. She wasn't sure what was really happening between, them. But from what her emotions told her, they were moving in the right directions. She just hoped he would eventually tell her what he felt. Even just something. From his ways. His eyes. She was sure he did, but it was hard to know from his words. The a spark half hit her. A surprise?
"Thank-you most kindly, Dick. You do, another surprise?"
Kory smiled and thanked him as he led the way. It wasn't the thing he jumped up and down to do, but half the fun of dancing with him. Well, was him. Before expressing excitement it to this next surprise. He seemed to be doing that a lot lately. She was defiantly not complaining about it. It was slightly unexpected, but that half made it so endearing. Then she knew he could do the unexpected from time to time. The room was filled with people from Gotham. All in arrange of different costumes. Making it even more colourful. There were entertainers doing tricks. Games here and there. The stage was filling with music. As soon they met the dance floor. Her hand still in his. Smiled to him. The closeness was comforting. The music was the more fun. Casual type. At least for now. Kory soon began dancing. Slowly driving herself into the music. Doing a mildly decent turn, softly laughing. It felt nice. The vibe and Dick was right there. Motioned her arms gently. Sweetly around his neck.
"I'm happy you came… How's everything going for the move?… Dick, there's something I feel I need to tell you, that momentally just happened… I would have said something before, but I didn't want Victor to feel uncomfortable… He admitted to having feelings of affection towards me… Of course I was honest with him, that I care for him as a friend and that my heart lays elsewhere. I tried without hurting him, I just hope I didn't hurt him to badly, but I just thought you needed to know."
Very very happy, rang through Kory's mind as she honestly told him and she smiled. Before curiously asking how all the details for Bludhaven was going. She was assuming the work he had mentioned was related. Smiled sweetly. Kory was oddly excited to go with. Very little of Bludhaven had she seen, but had heard a lot about it upon her return. Not exactly moving with, as Dick had said he needed to be on his own, but not in everything did one need to be alone. She could help in ways, but Kory had also offered and agreed to help the Titans from time to time when they needed her. So hopefully a good balance. Motioned her arms lower as well as her voice a little. Kory wasn't exactly sure how to say what had just happened to Dick, but she knew he needed to know. She wouldn't lie nor keep it from him. Especially if Victor was very much a friend to her and possibly a friend to Dick or could be. She of course meant Dick as where her heart truly was. Whether or not he knew that was another thing. Expressing she defiantly didn't enjoy letting Victor down, but knowing she had to. Looking to Dick honestly at the end of her words. Smiled sweetly, but wasn't sure what Dick would do with the information. Still dancing, but much slowed.

Victor found himself watching Kory and Dick dance with one another. 'Lupin you think I could possibly win her over?' He mentally asked.
'Victor I'm sorry to tell you but from the looks of it I'd say she has found where she belongs.' Lupin said softly.
'But I-'
"Umm. Dr Jones?" A man asked. Victor quickly snapped back to what he was doing. An elderly man had come up. He had what appeared to be his grandkids with him. "Are you feeling alright?" The man asked
"Oh yeah I'm fine. Victor said with a slight laugh as he got the camera ready. "Scooch in alittle closer...... Bit more...... Ok say pumpkin patties!" He took the picture then showed it to the group. Judging from they're response they liked it. The elderly man stayed behind and asked him what as wrong. He then followed the young mans gaze.. All the way to the couple dancing. "You should tell her." The man said.
Victor gave a slight laugh "I have. The man looked at his reaction. "So it didn't turn out well?" He could tell by Victor's response that it hadn't gone the way he had hoped. "Things will get better for you soon son." He said as he turned to leave.
Victor frowned abit at the man's words.'Lupin you can't control others can you?'
The mental wolf laughed. 'No I can't. They just know better, it comes with age pup.'
Victor shook his head slightly as he looked at his watch. Five more minutes before he would wander around the party and take pictures. 'Victor, I won't stop you. But first ask yourself this: What are you willing to do to win her heart.'
Without missing a beat he answered. 'Anything.' Lupin made a clicking sound. 'Now Victor did you really think about that?'
Victor began to answer before he realized he hadn't. 'Well Lupin at the very least I'm optimistic enough not to get worn down by this. And I'm Texan enough not to give up easily. But regardless this is a party lets not get all worked up over this.' He smiled abit as he glanced at his watch again.on a few minutes left.
'Maybe you can get Force to dance?' Lupin commented. Victor laughed abit under his breath at that comment.

Though there's a small hesitation, Phoebe responds to Kory's motioning with a hug. She may be very slow and hesitant about opening up to anyone, but she really does like the woman. Even if she already loves someone and had to tell Victor that. And when she mentions the chocolate fountain, she says, "Yeah..." That's definitely on her to-do list for this party. Possibly the first thing, unless she gets distracted by something else delicious along the way.
One thing is for sure: she will not be having a proper dinner this evening. And possibly feel somewhat sick later because of it. Totally worth it though! She says, "Okay!" when she heads off, meaning both that she'll tell Kory if she needs backup and that she'll have fun. Not that she's at all likely to run into anything that she'll need help with. Unless it's a really big dessert or something along those lines.
Though when she catches Dick thinking that he might know who she is, that only hastens her steps away from them in spite of the fact that the thought is very nonspecific and she can't tell if he's anywhere close or not. How would he even know? The FBI had kept her very much a secret, after all, so she'd thought that appearing here in a costume would be safe enough. Using some of her powers was probably not the smartest idea, but all she did was pop a balloon. Oh, and fly a little, but that was before the party really got started and he wasn't around when she did that. She just hopes it's one of those 'she seems familiar' things, because otherwise she'll probably have to find somewhere to hide besides Victor's place. And she doesn't want to do that.
It doesn't take her but a moment to get lost among the other party-goers. It's like the place was designed for her - food, games, entertainments. She hasn't had much of a childhood, spending so much time training and studying that she had little time for even basic play, let alone going to something like this. Agent Stevens insisted on allowing Phoebe time to 'be a kid' periodically, but that had only ever been an afterthought to the people in charge of her schedule.

Dick motioned his hands on her hips. One sliding to her lower back as if to lead her as they danced.
"What so you really thought I'd try to come up with an excuse for not showing up in a costume," Dick challenged her playfully. A smile came to his face.
It was a lot easier to just be more relaxed and have a bit of fun at times. Sure he wasn't the type to do such a thing at times. But he didn't feel like he dressed like something to make a fool of himself. He had dressed up like this for Kory. That was a good enough reason in itself to come to the party.
Dick was caught by surprise after her questioning and then her hushed tone over a situation. A situation that very much so alerted him to the feelings that Victor had towards Kory. There was no surprise that someone might take a liking to her. How could you not?
He listened as they moved slower to the music as she spoke. And of her telling Victor that she was not as interested in him as he was her. Dick could tell that by how she was with him at that time. And her heart laying with another....He had a feeling he knew. It wasn't hard to tell between the two of them.
Through all their history together. Still things had been off and on between them. He knew she cared deeply for him. He appreciated it at times of course. He just had not been so set like she had been. Dick was slightly reminded of the failed relationship with Barbara. Even though between him and Kory, sure they had their breaks. But never to turn them against each other in such a way.
"No it's fine. Thanks for being honest. You know I can trust you," Dick replied understandingly.
"I'm sure he'll get over it in time. Though then again, I know how hard it would be to try and get over you," Dick said. Even when she had went off he did often think of her. How couldn't he forget her? After the first kiss when she first came to earth. And all they had been through. Just as Donna had been a bit part of his life on the team. Kory had played a huge role in that.
"I'm sure he'll be fine. As for the move, it's going alright. Still setting up the plans and all," he said. And by plans that would mean for the secret subject of the space for the vigilante stuff to be kept out of sight.

The room flooded in a ray of rainbow lights. Glitter sparkled all along the dance floor. The music was good and fun, some of the newer hits which Kory was still getting familiar with. Hardly understanding the need of a whistle. Pleasantly surprised someone knew about starships. Kory felt the joy in the room. Most of all she was joyed Dick was here. Not to mention he was dancing. It had been a while since they'd hit the night clubs. Just as before wasn't long before Kory felt his hands upon her hips and took lead. Kory half giggled, it was too cute. She defiantly liked this side. As she grinned into the dance. Of course being mindful that there was a circus between them, but Kory could defiantly manage. Kory's eyes played innocently upon his own as he questioned her reasons of surprises.
"No not exactly… Although you coming in no costume, I think that would have been a totally different surprise. "
Kory sweetly shook her head playfully. Sure she was happily surprised he was even in a costume or even here, really she would have been as happy had he not be in costume, in the end there just clothes, but Kory could respect he did as act to show he cared. Mostly she just didn't expect the choice, but then that was the point of it, not knowing. Kory grinned at Dick mentioning had he come without a costume, given the fact that clothes in general are a costume to Kory, the lack of it would have been purely him. Not exactly something she would discourage as Kory playfully held her hands up and happily giggled. Before pleasantly placing her hands in position upon his chest. Covered by his Robin Hood costume. Though to be real about it, there be no greater costume than Dick Grayson himself, Kory sweetly smiled to him. As the beat pick up so did Kory's moves. Somehow coming up with a mix of some disco and some swing moves. Somehow creating her own way of dancing with an odd way it seemed to work wonderfully, at least it was fun. As her fiery hair played around, but wasn't ready to be totally untamed right about now. As she sang along and vibrantly smiled. Laughed. Her hands played around him. Letting out to do a spin, which hopefully returned her in Dick's direction.
Before long Kory had possibly drop the A-bomb on him that Victor was crushing on her. He did after all have a right to know and Kory wasn't someone that preferred to keep secrets. It just crawled under her skin the wrong way. Not that she couldn't if she had to, but this no, this she could tell. At first Dick did seemed surprised, but as the words had come, Dick didn't exactly grow concerned or anything of the sort. Her moves along him was sure slower. She liked him near. As Kory smiled softly, not that she had expected him to react badly or really in any way. There had been so many months. Then everything so far. Kory wasn't sure exactly what Dick was feeling about her, Kory would half feel it was more than friendship. She just wasn't sure. All she did know was how she felt.
"You can as I trust you. I do not like keeping anything from really anyone, but especially not you."
Kory happily spoke, smiled sweetly to hear Dick's own rather sweet words. Her hand rested lightly upon his cheek. Never would she want him not to trust her, although she knew it came close when she came close to killing, but with her trust in him prevented her from ever stepping over the line. Kory smiled a little more reassuring about Victor as Dick spoke. It would do him more good, Kory was sure. It had been a lot for Victor to admit what he did, Kory knew that. She knew how powerful emotions can be especially not used to them as she was. Her eyes gently creased in between as Dick spoke on. What was he meaning? As Kory listened on, felt her chest beating a little differently. Her smile was still there a little weaker. Did this mean he wasn't over her? Which half made her smile. Though it sounded as if he had tried. The other half was feeling that pain.
"X'hal? What do you mean? You make it sound as if you had tried… I… would have stayed had it been in my power… I can tell you it wasn't any easier on Tamaran."
The room may have felt a little more a shadow right then as Kory looked him in his eyes as she asked him. Curious, getting more of what he had felt and what i meant now. Leaving had never been her desire nor her wish. It was expected when you were princess of Tamaran, she had no choice. It was her duty, of course it allowed her the joy to see her family again. Tamaran again, especially that is was all gone, but to walk away from Dick wasn't something she could ever really choose. As Kory eyed him sweetly as she spoke. Even smiled a little admitting it wasn't easy to get over him either, it never would be. Even when her father had confronted her as his memory distracted her, Kory had to learn to force him from her mind, but at times especially at night he wasn't far from her heart. All that they had been through. Though leaving him was in the past now. There was nothing Kory could do now that she couldn't do then. Her hand moved more warmly at his cheek. Smiled softly, she was here now. On earth. With no plans of exits. Kory motioned in for a single passionate kiss. With no real strings attached and hardly noting the fact he was dressed as Robin Hood. Though as she pulled herself away soon after, was realising his costume again as she smiled friendly to him.
"I'm sure in time he will, I can't say I didn't exactly know, especially when I kissed him. I just felt it was something better off him discovering his emotion on his own rather than me telling him."
Given everything Kory was sure Victor would in time feel better, as Kory happily agreed with Dick, but still wasn't the greatest feeling hurting someone. Had she not been honest then it would have hurt even more, Kory was sure about that. Well she knew well enough, that Victor was feeling something towards her, especially the couple times she pecked him on the cheek. Generally always out of a friendly behaviour, but contact like that could also help the giving of knowledge. Well least for a tamaranean. It was rather the real kiss of Dick Grayson that allowed her to speak and understand, well mostly understand humans. Victor did need feel the emotions for himself, rather than Kory telling him before he had time to even really know and even give him a chance to understand.
"It could be going better? If you need any help, such as the heavy lifting and lets not forget about the decorating. If you'd like me to, of course…"
Curiously Kory asked as Dick had said alright, from the sounds there were still plenty to be sorted out. Kory was only to happy of offer to lend herself to help. Especially with anything overly heavy, Kory could easily manage that. Then not to mention the decorating. Kory half wondering why Dick hadn't already asked. She could help make it cosy. Loads of fluffy pillows and smelly candles, it suit him well Kory half amused herself, but it was something she could do. Especially given she had decorating for her own small place there for when she was in town, though she was half worried Dick might end up getting lost between the places. But this was something he mainly wanted to do on his own. Just didn't need to be alone in it completely. The song changed. Remaining still closely. Kory was busting out more precise moves to Bottle Pop. Every now and then, she began shaking after popping her body. Laughing. It was defiantly fun, even with some eyes around her, but that wasn't exactly new to her. Her hand then led Robin Hood, mouthing the words 'Shake me' and throughly enjoying her bubbly self. Some dancing around them who had looked at her oddly, half joined in. It was out of fun after all as the party was ready to blow with joy.

The five minutes had come and gone and only two other people had come over to get their pictures taken. Most of the party goers seemed to be more interested in dancing. So Victor decided to go wander around the party. He glanced around and then saw where he wanted to go first.
He wander his way over the the snack bar and with his hands clasped behind his back glanced at the food on it. There was quite abit on the table. And it all looked pretty good. He would have noticed Force there if he hadn't been so drawn up in his thoughts and his conversation with Lupin.
'Victor I won't try and stop you but I still think you should go dance at least.' The mental wolf said.
'Dance with who?' Victor replied popping some grapes into his mouth. He looked out on the dance floor and got an idea. He picked up his camera and took a picture of the dance floor and everyone on it.
He then let it hang around his neck again eating a few more grapes he looked around the room. He smiled as he thought about dancing but he wasn't sure if he could find anyone who would want to at the moment. It sure seemed like everyone had already paired up with someone.
He found himself watching Kory and Dick dance again. Victor felt a wide smile crossing his face and the urge to laugh growing as he saw Kory dance in her bubbly fashion. He was having a hard time getting over the fact that she had already fallen for someone. And the one two punch of learning who it was in such a short time didn't help him much... No wait... There was still the possibility that Victor was just being paranoid and it wasn't really Dick.. Maybe it was someone from Tamaran? Then he remembered that she had told him Tamaran had been destroyed.
'Would you like me to help you find a dance partner?' Lupin asked.
'No but I would like to talk to you about that stunt you pulled.'
'What stunt?' Lupin asked.
'I mean taking over my body. I wasn't really all that impressed with it.'
'Well I was helping you to -'
'Don't say survive or 'pass on my legacy' or anything like that. Taking over someone's body like that is too much of a invasion of privacy. Being able to read my thoughts is ok seeing as I'm used to you. But controlling me?' Victor explained.
Victor did truly care for Lupin, and Lupin returned the feeling. But there were somethings they had trouble with... And not always sharing his secrets and the extent of his abilities were on of the things that had trouble with.
