This was a bit of a break from the routine of being a superhero. Having a life outside of it was important. Kara knew that. That is why Clark had encouraged her to have a secret identity to fall back on outside of being Supergirl. And she did follow it at times.
But tonight....tonight she wanted a break.
She just wanted to let her hair down and not worry about fake glasses and trying not to look the part of the Supergirl she was. She hated always hiding her true self. It didn't come as easily for her as it did people like Clark, Nightwing, Starfire, and Arsenal. They all had a life before they truly became who they were now. Maybe she should say it this way, they had people in their lives and friends to help them.
Kara lost everyone and everything she knew when her planet blew up. All she knew was the life she lived. And to come to a planet being stuck in time, she was left behind as the years went by and her cousin had grown up. It was an odd thing, she had been older than him at the time, but the space rock she had been caught in had somehow contained kryptonite. It almost left her in a stage of suspended time, leaving her to age slower. Almost to the point of not aging at all. She had been a sleep that entire time.
And now, after a few years on earth, things were still not always that easy.
Kara had told Roy to meet her at the pier to just walk along the water front and relax for a bit. Just to talk and be normal. So here, she found herself standing on the pier waiting for Roy to show up.

Breaks in the routine were rare. So rare, that it was easy to forget they even existed. At least in such a life, not to play down that the on some level the rest of the world wasn’t busy in its own lives, but a hero’s life in itself is a sacrifice. Mostly it was just the way of life for Roy. He thrived in this life, far more than he’d thrived much else, at least he believed he did. Though suppose even he could figure when it was right to make the time. A different kind of time… A little thing called life… Or at least the more prominent light, cascaded in golden hair… As Kara had buzzed him in every other normal life, was as simple. Easy… Request… Roy could play it down that there could be a fist he’d wish to avoid, but then he’d be a lying fool. As if he wasn’t gonna show up for any other reason, than he very strongly wanted to… Suppose there was a perk in being leader, though like the fuck anything less would have stopped him… Certainly not a former Robin on his shoulder. It wasn’t like he could dispute his own… Well, endeavours! So to put his simple night in simple words. Roy had left a simple message, he’d be back in five. Minutes? Hours? It was anyones guess.
Swinging a leg over his motorcycle, kicking it into gear. Roy sped out of an hidden entrance from the Outsider’s bunker. Coming out into a very low key, unsuspecting area in Gotham City. With some dimly lit street lights, however there was a full moon, just hidden on the other side of the buildings. Whilst still the general gloom of Gotham was felt. It was otherwise going to be nice warm and mostly clear night. Roy was dressed casual. Jeans. White t-shirt and a light unzipped leather jacket. Minus his baseball cap. Of course there was a backpack, it blended in well enough. Hiding much of his Arsenal gear. Possible weaponry that wasn’t somewhere strapped to himself. He was naturally prepared, because how low key Roy could hope this could go. He how quickly a night like that can turn, particularly in the city such as Gotham. Lets just say the goons are less shy. Occasionally more vibrant. Though he wasn’t going to let that possibility ruin his chances of somewhat normal. Quiet evening. Despite whether or not Roy did normal or quiet well. He sure as hell could try. Walk and Talk. He certainly could, though Roy may have other things on his mind on that. That big lump in his chest was certainly prominent thud, he couldn’t quite ignore. Nope, if anything it quickened his speed. Heading towards the outskirts of the city. Towards the ocean. The coastline soon came into view. Where cliffs and edges met the wild waves. Although seemed a more steady set of waves, as Roy took a more direct glance. That would be a good thing. A helpful thing. His eyes turned back a head and more towards the paths ways. The piers. Looking out for Kara. It was relatively quiet. Just a couple people here and there. Most must be in the city. Hoping to be safe in their homes. It was long and it wasn’t hard before Kara caught his eye. Roy made the beeline towards where she was standing. Pulling his bike off the main road. Just by where she stood on the pier.
”Hey gorgeous!"
Roy voiced slightly muffed under his helmet, but still confidently. Perhaps trying playing with the masking of his identity, but full knowing it was a terrible play. He could easily spot her in a field of sunflowers and well, she…. She could see straight through him. See parts and places, he wasn’t sure he knew himself. Not many he could say could get that up close and personal with his spine. There could be nerves, but Roy simply felt enthused. Excited, yeah. She truly was super. Way more down to earth, than she gave herself credit for. Roy pulled of his helmet. Unmasking his identity and properly greeting her with a smile. The delighted look of his eyes. Hung his helmet over his bike and kicked out the leg for it to stand on. Got off the bike. Began walking. Breaking the distance that was between them. A hand reached out for one of hers. As Roy brushed hair away from her cheek and behind her ear with his other hand. Purposefully planting a very welcoming kiss upon her cheek.
"So did you call to praise me….?"
Not loudly, but more sensual was his voice. As Roy asked, with playing suggesting. Wondering why she had called for him. This place. A walk. A talk. Perhaps it was just that. Or perhaps, as Roy toyed at the thoughts. It wouldn't be the first time he was dumped on a bridge, depending on your definition of dumped. The fingers that had played at her hair. Brushed. Danced lightly against her cheek. Coming to play upon. Then under her chin. As his eyes looked down upon hers, with half smile. Disappearing at the slight parting of his lips. Trailed down her cheek. Brushing a kiss at the left corner of her lips. Breathing the wondering mix of her sweet scent and salt of from the ocean.
"Scold me?"
Roy breathed out deeply, as his lips lifted away momentarily. Only to come back and this time. Brushing the entirety of her lips. Motioning them for a more deepened and seemingly overdue kiss. His eyes shut. It had seemed too long since or it at least felt like it. Even now perhaps couldn’t last near long enough, as the lump in his chest thudded no less. Sure there was an ease in there as well. His hand that had laid under her chins, trailed down, down to her waist and moved around to the small of her back. His other hand in hers, soon joined around her waist…. There was break… Where his eyes did open. They escaped ever so subtly, but he honestly never left Kara.
”It is a nice view… You picked a good spot, Kara! Suppose, could we get a little closer?“
There was a lace of a sensual tone on his voice at least initially. It grew a little more relaxed. Calm and a little bit intrigued. As spoke of the view from the pier. His eyes escaped subtly over the edge, behind Kara’s shoulder. They graced back. As his hand played loosely around her waist. If she hadn’t pushed him away and he hadn’t completely over played his cards. He was entirely enjoying her warmth, but he was certainly open to get a little closer to the water. Perhaps a stroll. A walk as she had mentioned down the pier. Perhaps even close down a small dock here or there… Not that Roy was at all being a little mischievous. Not at all. Roy was completely good in hiding that.

With ease, Kara's hearing could pick up the sound of Roy's motorcycle from miles a way. Talk about a hard person to pull a surprise attack on. She couldn't help it. Her hearing often picked up on everything when she was waiting for someone. She could focus in on a single sound if she wanted to, such as a pin dropping.
This was an advantage, but when she had first come here, there were times when it overwhelmed her just how much she could hear with this superpower. She had learned and worked to refine her powers. All that time training on the island where Wonder Woman had lived, paid off greatly.
Though there were times when she could lose control of things and it might overwhelm her again. Some times it just happened with the stress of the world it seemed.
When he had pulled up, Kara could just be a normal person. She needn't use her superheating to catch his words behind his helmet. That was just part of the joy of enjoying the moment. A slight smile came to her face as he toyed with this as a potential mask.
"Hey handsome," she replied.
She simply enjoyed watching him get off his motorcycle and walk towards her. The slight kiss on the cheek was just the start. He started to ask her questions, between more kisses.
"Nope," she responded playfully to the first. Her breathing was deep and slow as she felt his lips against her skin. And when he spoke again.
"No," she simply replied.
At that moment, he moved in for a deeper kiss. Kara did not protest to this action. Closing her eyes, she allowed for herself to become lost in the moment. She felt his hands move to her back and him slightly pulling her in closer. She own hands moved to his waist.
At his words, Kara came to from the moment. She gave a slight glance over her shoulder toward the beach down below.
"Sure, I could do with a moment of feeling the sand between my toes," Kara responded.

It was only good, that Roy hadn’t planned a surprise attack. That indeed seemed almost impossible, not that it entirely persuaded him not to try. Here… There… Last night. A couple mornings in a row. Ok, they were completely unsuccessful. They were however still mighty enjoyable. So no, there was no attack in mind, more the subtle approach. Mostly Roy playing the mysterious card under the helmet for his own bewilderment. Of course it hadn’t always been the more splendid bike. You would never know it had once been a bunch of scrap metal and Roy turned it into the beautiful swan of the ugly bike world. Well, it still had an old charm. Although, enough about the sweet bike. Catching Kara in his gaze was more than enough to turn his head. His attention and soon his affection. He was a little disappointed, she did not say his name, he so enjoyed that, but this is worked just as well. Roy smiled oh, so charmingly. Having greeted her, left his bike and completely broke the distance. Which he’d say by good measure. Perhaps measure. By measure. As Roy was pointed and subtle where he had planted his lips. Putting all faith and backing that it hadn’t been him driving. It had been Kara’s every single response. He had wondered long and head if he could get her to blush. Show colour, was it even possible on someone so super. It had seemingly turned out to be true or was Roy just imagining it. He was sure he most certainly felt it. Hmmm, yeah. Right there. As his fingers played lightly and intently upon her skin. Along with his trailing kisses. He almost broke in intentions at the sounds of Kara’s words. The lace of playfulness, was enough to break out amusing smiles. Though Roy did not respond in words, but he still responded by his mouth. His lips. Hearing no refusal, no complaints. Roy was sure he was on the right path.
”How… Disappointing!”
At the response of Kara’s last no, Roy did find subtle playful words. Although whether or not it had completely reached. Matched the tone in his voice, was less than sure. Perhaps it matter so much. Because Roy had moved in for a more prominent and deeper kiss. With no protest or resistance. Roy lingered even deeper. Time had seemingly withered between, however long had passed since he had last kissed her. Held her. Touched her skin. Even gazed in her eyes. Though whilst both of their eyes shut, almost on cue. There was an comfort to easily fall back in and let the moment wash over them. For however, long they had. Because no matter how much one tried. Could push the seconds on a clock. It never really ever stood still long enough. Perhaps he knew people that could change that. Mess with time, but he had learnt from Wally. That was usually a bad idea. So Roy had to settle, no embrace what time they did have. Besides, he liked to think he was completely greedy. As much as he may like to be. Roy eventually broke away from the kiss, but only to best enjoy the company. There was definitely more kisses in the horizon. Roy’s eyes trailed to where Kara looked over her shoulder. Hmmm, suppose they could do that too. Roy smiled half to himself.
”Really? Sand… Well, by all means."
There was a slight play to his words. His question as to the sand. With the hint of play at his eye brow. Hmmm, was that too much. Not subtle. Hmmm, but it was still interesting to hear. Kara, enjoying one of the simplest human enjoyments. Roy couldn’t entirely say if it was high up on his enjoyment. Feet in sand, he could sure bare it, but generally anywhere else. Could be quite uncomfortable, well least when one was alone and therefore not entirely distracted. With his arm tucked around her waist. He took stride beside her. Walking off the pavement and towards the sand. Closer to the water. Ideally. As the two would eventually meet a length of the sandy shoreline. With another tiny little dock merely some feet a head. Roy did not quicken any of his strides. Surely even with patients, they’d eventually have to walk on by and as they do. Roy would turn his head ever so slightly. As if to watch the view. Perhaps the moon reflection on the rippling waves. Hmmm, perhaps it was a bonus the water seemed to be steady. It wouldn’t take too long, before his eyes caught sight of a little boat floating at the end of the tiny little dock.
”Hmmm, do you think that boat may have our name on it? Unless, you’d prefer your feet on the ground?"
Roy leaned in subtly, to ask softly and playfully in her ear. As he pointed out the boat at the end of the dock, which was close enough beside them. It was just floating there. Unattended and what better way to get closer. Roy smiled at the thought, of course there maybe a slightly underlining reason… Although, even at his questions and his thoughts. He did also offer to just keep it on the ground. Amongst the sand, if Kara truly wanted to keeping the sand between her toes. Perhaps, she did not do water. Although, he’d highly suspect fear would have anything to do with it. Last he checked, she could swim, almost as good as he could. Ok, better than he could. He really wasn’t one to point fingers. Well, save the one he had pointed to the boat. With just the slight suggesting of a little boat trip. Sailing was like walking, was it not?

"It can be enjoyable from time to time," Kara replied. "I hear a lot of people use that phase."
When Roy took the lead and stirred her toward the beach, Kara enjoyed the feeling of his arm around her waist. It had been some time since they just spent some personal time together.
The slight breeze that coasted over the water front, hitting the beach, left them walking into it. Her golden hair lighting getting caught up in it. The salty air was crisp that night. But not cold enough to cause anyone to go running inside to start the sweatshirt season. As they walked, her sandals were catching the sand was they walked, but she did not stop to take them off.
At Roy's mention of a boat at a near by pier, Kara glanced over in the direction he was now pointing in.
Kara gave a slight smile. "Sounds like fun. The water is calm enough for a good row," Kara replied.
Kara would let Roy take the lead for the night. She was in no rush of anything tonight. It was simple meant for them to enjoy some alone time. No crime fighting. No one near by. Just time for them to be themselves and have some fun.
"Wait. I hear something," Kara's superhearing was picking up a echoing sound across the waves. There were high pitches and some low ones. It sounded so musical.
"I hear some whales out there," Kara replied, a smile came to her face as she could still hear their song. "If we're lucky they might be headed our way. We could row out and find them," she suggested.
She wondered if Roy even found interest in such creatures. She had gone through several marine biology books and had found these mammals os interesting. Considering these creatures could submerge in the water for minutes to hours and come back up for air. They were rather interesting. The earth seemed to have even more life in the seas as well as the land.

There a warming smile, perhaps even the heart felt kind came to Roy’s lips. At Kara’s words regarding the sand. There could definitely be enjoyment to be had, despite not having been apart of his plan. It was certainly noted for later. How much later? Could be anyones guess? Heck it could even be now if his surprise doesn’t entirely pay off. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time. But, hey Roy tried. Roy then mused at the sounds of Kara’s following words regarding humans and their phrases. Half wondering if she had gotten all this from a book. It really wouldn’t surprise him what someone would put in a book to make some money. He’d have to wonder a book of human phrases would be a vast one. Suppose there was also TV and many humans around to listen in on. God knows, what kinda impression he would make. Hmmm, not entirely bad one would hope, but he certainly wasn’t always an angel with his words. Or really subtle most of the time. Though, it was a humbling thought, to think Kara picking out the simplest phrases. Most of the things she said were. Not being human herself, Kara was quite humbled. Delightful company, if Roy said so himself. For now, he remained silent at least in words. As he had taken her in arm. Looping one around her waist and formed body by body. There was strength and yes even in this gesture. Roy was truly aware of her strength, but there was also warmth. Also some level of other sensations. Taking the initial strides toward the beach. Met with the breeze. Scent of salt and seaweed. There was definitely sea spray in there. Feeling almost the tiny droplets of the ocean water on his cheeks. As they had ushered closer. Roy didn’t feel the sand, his feet were still covered by his footwear. There was a high chance he’d find the time to take them, but you know. it just had to be that right kinda time.
It hadn’t been long before his eyes had spotted the boat and had lead his attention towards it. Pointing it out to Kara. Suppose walk and talk. Could potentially turning to a sail and talk. Roy had put the offer out there, as simply as he was just as keen to spent the time. With what little time they had and the ocean could provide a little more adventure. A little more quiet. A little more of a lot of things. Sometimes the joy was not entirely knowing. Taking a chance on a little wee boat. That was totally there by accident. At Kara’s glance and slight smile. Roy grinned. Her words were sweet music to his ears.
”Indeed, a very beautiful evening for it! As you know I enjoy a good row... Do you enjoy a good row, Kara?”
With the grin, Roy playfully looked to Kara as he had responded. Going that little extra to remark the night was sensually perfect for it. It could flip on a dime, when in or near Gotham, but nonetheless. Roy was taking their chances. He was up for a good row, as he playfully put that out there. Was there the briefest innuendo in there? Possibly, whilst laced in truth and well, he was Roy. He was in a playfully good mood to treat his lady. Letting his arm slide out away from Kara’s waist. Roy’s hand then trailed down her arm closest to him and slide down to take her hand. Fingers delicately entwined. Taking the step then that led to the tiny dock and walked to the end where the tiny boat was tied to. It was small, but certainly enough space for two. There was also blankets. A basket, that Roy was certain it was stocked. There was also a little options for lighting. Certainly this wasn’t stealing, it had to be a little more obvious than that now, right? Before Roy could offer a steady hand. Kara then suddenly spoke up. Roy slightly frowned wondering what was up. Particularly then that she mentioned hearing something. Of course, it had to be right now, that there be some sort of trouble they’d have to go check out. He almost had his hopes up, as he rather attempted to play it off…
”You do? Is it my pulse…? Am I heating up…?"
As Roy questioned what Kara was hearing, his hand. His finger entwined with her own hand, he led it to a place upon his neck. The evident pulsing of the love crazy lump that hid in his chest. Before motioning her hand upon his forehead. Not that Roy wouldn’t entirely own to being love sick, but there was definitely some kind of love. Roy smiled his sly, charming and most romantic smile. Hey, perhaps that was what she head, but if it was trouble. Then trouble they would find…. Oh, hold that thought. Perhaps Roy was a little to eager. As Kara then mentioned whales… Whales! Ok, whales Roy can deal with. As it had now completely clicked that she was listening to the ocean. He couldn’t say he could hear it with his own ears, but he certainly didn’t doubt there would many things out there. Let alone below.
”Oh, I think we can find some whales… How hard can it be? That is impressive that you can hear them from here. Perhaps, I’m going deaf after I got smacked in the head from the other night… May I help you in the boat, milady?"
Roy responded as confidently as he could in the chances of finding whales. In fact, he was adamant it would happen, but the shear spark that lit clear in her eyes at the thought. It wasn’t like he didn’t know people that could lend aid in that. Roy had assured with a smile to match and joking about his hearing. It was impressive that she could hear, not of course surprising, but it was nonetheless still mighty impressive. As he motioned a hand to help her in the boat, not that he thought she needed it. He was just being gentlemanly. Before long, Roy did find them both in the boat. Facing each other of either end of the boat. The blankets and basket beside where Kara would sit. As Roy had taken the oars in hand, not that he was apposed to any help in the rowing part, but he was completely content in doing the rowing if Kara did not want to. Besides, she deserved to enjoy herself…
”Are you comfortable, Kara? There are blankets if you need! In what direction did you hear the whales? I had not known you liked them. Have you spent much time underwater?"
Checking Kara was indeed comfortable and ready to row away. Leaving Gotham behind, even for a night or partially a night. Leaving Gotham behind, did sound nice. Roy smiled as he pointed out the blankets, but it did seem a warm enough evening. Winter wasn’t quite here, but they were heading out on the ocean. It could be cooler out there and there was no telling by how much. Asking in what direction, to help guide him off. Though he certainly peaked up interest in discovering Kara’s in whales and potentially even the ocean itself. Roy couldn’t say he had spent a large number of years underwater, but he was certainly where. Seen quite a lot. Of course, having a best friend practically half fish, kinda helped in that regard. Who probably was out there? Hmmm, Roy pretty much could count on that.

"A row in a small boat on the ocean seems rather enchanting in it's own way," Kara replied.
Kara hid a slight smile on her face as she felt Roy's arm slip away from her waist. She felt his hand slide down part of her arm and find her hand. As his hand reached her's, she willingly accepted the new contact between them this evening. It was nice. Things seemed to be almost a picture perfect evening.
"It shouldn't be hard to track them. I'll be able to pick up their sound as well as their heart beat if I really wanted to focus on them. I think I'd rather enjoy a steady pace rather than rushing to find them. Don't sound like the are going to move away all that soon," she said. "Why, thank you."
Kara accepted the helping hand into the boat. It was easy enough to get in, but every gesture she cherished that he offered her.
"A blanket would be nice," she commented as she would take what she was offered. "I haven't honestly spent much time in the water around the sea creatures. Here and there. But in school, I had to do a lot of research in some marine biology class I was taking. It's rather intriguing how gentle these giants can be."

"I hear them to the NorthEast," Kara spoke up!
The song of the whale was becoming rather loud to her as she used her super hearing at half the strength that she could. Of course she would do this because the whales were under the water. It was such a lovely sound.
"This is so lovely," she spoke.
As Roy rowed the boat, the moonlight rippled on the surface of the ocean. The waves were calm that night. It was wonderful to enjoy the lovely night. The lights on the shore were still sparkling as they were not that far out. Yet they were far enough out that the lights were starting to blend together. There own light was reflecting off the surface of the ocean waters.
The waves distorting the lights as they lapped at the sandy shore.
Kara used her super sight to look out further to the ocean. There was a larger movement in the waves that were going in another direction against them.
"They're coming into sight," a slight bit of excitement in her voice as she saw the hump of a whale coming up slightly from the waters.
