As the guests mingle, Poison Ivy finds her attention being pulled in several directions as each of the people she knows she wants to keep her eye on go their separate ways. But it's easy enough to simply shift her attention from one to another, seeing if they're doing anything interesting and moving onto the next one if not. It's a bit like channel surfing, really. She's keeping an eye on both Lex and Selina as they mingle, but they're not doing anything too particularly interesting beyond greeting nobodies.
Eddie soon gets her attention, however, as she sees him guiding the reporter to a more secluded corner. Oh, what's going on here, then? Unfortunately, the spot seems to be difficult for her to find a proper camera angle - so much so that she suspects that he did that on purpose. Fortunately, the cameras are sophisticated enough that she's able to find one that's halfway acceptable, at least - what's more troubling is the lack of proper audio, unless she hasn't discovered how to tap into that. She may be more tech savvy than one might assume, but this isn't exactly a program that she's familiar with.
Watching them carefully, she only takes a moment to ponder whether or not the man is sincere in his apparent affections towards this young lady he has backed up against the wall. Of course he wouldn't be sincere - not only is he a man, he's that man in particular, and she can tell by the tension in his body language that he's being more aggressive than amorous. Not that she doubts that he also finds the young lady pretty, but the man is far too goal-oriented for such a distraction to actually get in the way. And the reaction of the young woman confirms it - she can put on as much of a show as she likes, but Ivy can see the underlying nerves.
But though she can see the unfolding situation, she experiences no real connection to it or a wish to intervene herself - instead she views it with just as much interest as she would a television drama where the actors involved will come to no harm. That this is actually happening and someone may get hurt doesn't make one bit of difference to her, even though she has a preference for who succeeds and who doesn't. But television shows don't go the way she wants very often either.
In this case, she can see the two being interrupted by another woman - this one she doesn't recognize at all, because though the name might ring a bell if she heard it, she doesn't know the face that goes with that name. Still, she watches as Eddie seems to be displeased by the interruption, his attempt to send her away... Oh dear - is the lady's dress falling off? She can't help but immediately be suspicious of that purely because of the timing, though she didn't catch whether or not there was any intention behind it. This is certainly turning out to be more interesting than the soap opera she's been following during her rec time, thanks to the lack of decent television programming. Chuckling to herself, she continues to watch to see how this one plays out.
