When she reaches her gym bag, Charlotte takes one last sip from her water bottle before she puts it inside and trades it for her warmup pants and jacket. It only takes her a moment to pull on both and as she finishes zipping up her jacket she glances up to see if Selina is waiting for her or coming down to join her. Seeing that it's the latter, she takes her time straightening her jacket and then slipping into her shoes.
By the time she's zipped up her bag and picked it up, the shoulder strap resting on her shoulder, Selina and the guy who's been sitting next to her are nearly to her so she waits for them - standing with her arms folded across her chest. "Hey," is all she gives in greeting to Selina, as she's not in an especially talkative mood at the moment, though at least the syllable is friendly enough. Though her eyes shift immediately to the guy with her as she asks, "Who's this?" She's been wanting to know that ever since he showed up in the bleachers, after all.

"Harvey Bullock. I'm a friend of Selina's and I also happen to be in this room with you!"
Dry, but not hostile, Harvey let his feelings toward being spoken of as if he is not in the room be known to the other two, just.. just in case they weren't down with him on it before.
He also knew what to nick name her the moment she sassed him. He was hoping to get sassed.
"So, not bad on this acrobatics stuff, but I know I seen better."
Harvey had a smirk, he was giving her a hard time, but also being honest. He wasn't an expert but he was sure there was room to grow.
"Selina, you could use some brushin' up too, y'know?"
Harvey was just asking to get purse-smacked today.

She couldn't keep the smirk off her face as Theo and Charlotte went toe-to-toe. He beat her to the punch, and she tried to stifle her laughter. He was trying to do the 'big bad Harvey' gig. And she saw right through it.
She thought it better to leave out that he was a cop. Instead she elbowed him gently as she just knew he was baiting the teen.
But the quip he directed at her? She smiled sweetly, leaning into him as her fingers squeezed just beneath his elbow. "Well, last time you were out on the bars, look what happened, Theo?" She shot back at him, sickly sweet. Of course she was referring to his busted up looking face and arm. If he was going to play, she'd play.
"We're old friends, Charlotte. He stops by, we do dinner, whatever. He lives across the park from our place. So if you can't stand me, feel free to go buy him. His taste in music is exquisite."

The way that the man introduces himself causes Charlotte's forehead to wrinkle. Was that supposed to be funny? Because it wasn't at all. And if it wasn't supposed to be funny, then the guy is just... weird.
And his comment on having seen better gets a simple, two word answer. "Well, duh," she says with a slight eyeroll but little real annoyance. She is, after all, merely at level 2 - nearly level 3, she tells herself - and though she's improving rapidly she has to figure that pretty much everyone has seen better on TV at the very least. You don't even normally make it on TV until you're at the elite level, which is well beyond the 10 standard levels so... Yeah, she pretty much sucks compared to them. But she's only started it recently and is learning it way quicker than most, so what of it?
Her attention shifts to Selina and she looks a little amused at how she handles the comment directed to her, though the last bit causes her eyebrows to lift in surprise. "That's Theo?" she repeats back, remembering Selina mention the name before. She's not sure how you get 'Theo' from 'Harvey Bullock', but whatever. Listening to the rest of her introduction, she's quiet but the sheer amount of skepticism in her expression makes it clear that she doubts both that she'd ever want to bug him or that his taste in music is exquisite. He is, after all, quite clearly too old to be cool.

He looked over at Selina and sneered at her jab. He looked back to Charlotte while Selina explained their relationship to her. He grimaced at her calling him Theo and looked to Selina.
"You always gotta tell everyone that name, hmm?"
He looked back to Charlotte and smirked a bit.
"It's alright, you can call me Theo if ya want, kit."
He used to call Selina kitten, figured kit was appropriate for her little teenaged project.
"So, she treatin' you good, huh? You wanna piss her off, do this-"
Harvey pressed his fist into Selina's shoulder, cracking his knuckles and then shielded himself from the inevitable slaps on his shoulder.
He snickered and looked back to Charlotte.
"Every time. You're probably faster than me, though, so you can run off from her when she gets all slappy."
Harvey adjusted his hat and then offered his hand for the shaking to Charlotte.
"Nice meetin' ya, kit, I hate to end this little shindig we got goin' but I gotta get back to it."
Once they shook hands he gave Charlotte and astute nod and then pulled Selina to his side and laid a kiss on her cheek and pulled his head back and looked down at her, giving her a wink.
"Later, gator, I gotta bounce. Text me later, alright?"
As he left he gave a wink to Charlotte and clicked his tongue, pointing at her before he turned away and strode the rest of the way out.

She rolled her eyes at him. "That's what I call you. It's better than saying 'Hey everyone, Detective Lieutenant Bullock is my friend!' Folks freak about the cops in Gotham. You know that. You're a Detective and you're a cop, Theo." Shaking her head a the teen, and the man that reverted to his own sassy years, she bit her tongue. She didn't quite catch what he was doing until the horrible, spine clenching pops echoed in her ears. "Oh shit!" She swore loudly, her hand going to his wrist and pressing. He was pushing her buttons, and she was making him pay.
"Don't do that!" He caught her hand when she tried to knock his hat off, the best she could do with her gimpy foot. Shaking her head at the two of them, she was irritated.
"Don't tell her that. You're horrid-" She was pulled to his side, unable to keep the smile off her face as she pat his cheek, kissing it in turn. "I hate you, you know." She said, letting him go, her words spoke with an entirely different tone than what she said. "Mhm. Don't forget to read those papers. And tell Flass hi for me!" She snickered, watching him walk away like he owned the world.
Glancing to Charlotte, she could've bet the girl hated her. Her 'mother figure' has a beat up looking cop stop by, makes a scene, and then leaves. Even Selina knew a few were gawking. "You ready for an early dinner, then home?"

Well, someone is certainly... chatty. Not in the mood to be chatty herself, Charlotte simply listens, though at least she's being relatively polite about it. Though her eyebrows do lift a little when he calls her 'kit'. Mostly because she's wondering if she might have misheard him and that he actually called her 'kid', since that would be more normal, but in that case she'd be offended by that. She's not able to make up her mind though when he decides to demonstrate how to piss off Selina.
Though that whole exchange is watched with a disbelieving wrinkle of her forehead - they're both acting like little kids! Hopefully everyone now looking in their direction because of the commotion are also noticing that she may be standing with them but she's certainly not involved. Sheesh!
"Um, nice to meet you too," she finally speaks up when he says goodbye, though her tone sounds just a little bit uncertain about that. Watching as he goes, she seems just a little bit distracted when Selina asks her a question. "Um, yeah, sure," she replies. A pause, and then she asks, "...So, so you're not dating him?" Because Selina said so, but... well, the way they were acting... yet there's just enough amusement in Charlotte's expression to suggest that she's teasing Selina a little.

The nickname brings a smile to her face, and a fondness blossoms in her chest. She's glad he stopped by at the very least.
"No, we're not dating. But we've been really close since we met." She pulls Charlotte close for a partial hug. "Nice tone there, Kit. What do you think of that for a nickname? It's actually a spin-off of something I was called back in the day. Your version has more spunk to it." And it's true. Kit reminds her of a sly fox, which Charlotte certainly has the attitude, and cunning for. Kitten...when, depending on what sort of cat, could be insulting, or appreciative.
"You did damn good out there. I know you get frustrated, so I was curious if you wanted some one on one lessons? The ratio here is decent, but I think you might enjoy more focused work?"
She steers the two of them toward the exit, making sure Kit has everything she needs before they head out.

When Charlotte gets pulled into a hug, she goes just a little tense for a moment but then relaxes: she's still not quite used to just how touchy Selina is sometimes, though she's adapting to that quickly. And her only problem with it is that she's just not used to it. "Eh, whatever," she responds about the nickname. Which might be discouraging except that's the best review she's ever given a potential nickname ever - neutrality is way better than a rejection.
Since all of her stuff is in her gym bag, she lets herself be steered toward the exit without protest. "Yeah, maybe that might help. I dunno - it all just got so hard all of the sudden. I mean, I know exactly how to move in my head, but then my body doesn't do it, so..." she says, sighing in frustration. She's actually not had that problem very much in the past, and now she's suddenly running into it everywhere.

The tension is noted. And has been noted. So while Kit doesn't like the hugs, Selina tends to keep them quick, brief, and half-way done. And there is resistance, and it lessens each time.
So when she gets a bit of a response, but not too much of one, Selina smiles. It's not an outright no, so she'll take it.
"We can talk about it. I know a few instructors, and you can pick which you like. You'll get there. Folks say that if you can see what you want to do, visualization, it helps." They've joined the throng of people meandering out of the practice space and outside. "Any idea for food?"

Nodding to Selina's words, Charlotte knows that she just needs to stick with it, even though on days like today there's a part of her that kind of just wants to give up. But she's not one to give up just because it's hard, and besides that she's still making progress. Faster progress than the other girls at her level, even. It's just slower than it was to begin with and she actually has to work at it now. She knows that she'll probably get good if she just keeps trying, though. "Yeah, they say that - but visualization doesn't seem to be helping me. If anything, I think that makes it worse, because it all seems so easy until I actually try to do it," she comments with another sigh.
The question of food comes up, and Charlotte doesn't have to think about it for more than two seconds before she's saying, "Pizza. Definitely craving pizza. Pepperoni, sausage, extra cheese..." Especially the cheese...

"Well, then we might just have to work you a bit harder," Selina says with a grin and holds open the door to outside. "You'll get there. Rome wasn't built in a day, you know." Stupid, but meant to be reassuring words. "You want to walk to Roma's, or want to grab a cab?" She'd walked a bit, considering she had been cooped up most of the day.
"We can snag a table there with pizza. The good kind." She smirks, her mouth starting to water as well as the thought of not one, but several slices. And enough to take home. Because at Roma's you don't just order it by the slice, ever. She's tempted to call Theo back, but work is work. She could always get a pizza delivered to the station later. She can think of at the minimum, three people that would be working late and appeciate it.

"Harder? Oh, joy..." Charlotte says with obvious sarcasm as they go outside. As self-directed as a lot of her practicing is, at least when she's merely working on things that she's trying to improve rather than something new, she does think that she works herself pretty hard. Then again, it's not like she's so egotistical about her gymnastics that she wouldn't welcome extra help. Especially from Selina - the woman knows her stuff so she'd be stupid not to listen.
Smirking at Selina's smooth transition from speaking about Rome to speaking about Roma's, she answers, "Yeah, we can walk." She doesn't like being cooped up all day either, and even though she was just working out she still hasn't lost her stamina from when she'd wandered the city alone. Besides, working out indoors is just... not the same as being outside. Even if the 'fresh air' in Gotham isn't exactly stellar - it's more mental than physical. And in addition to all of that, traffic this time of day can be... well, they'll probably not lose that much time.
She may be used to it enough to no longer be surprised by how, every time she suggests a food, Selina finds them something of much better quality than she'd be happy with, but she's still amused by it. She'd be happy with that cheap frozen pizza you cook in the oven. Then again, she's not going to complain about getting something better. Because, well, it's better. "Hmm, maybe deep dish or stuffed crust..." she muses out loud, "And we need breadsticks..." She's already hungry but pondering the possibilities as they walk only makes her hungrier.

Slipping her jacket on and juggling her bag with the other she's all for walking. She's got a walking boot for a reason. And she's determined to have a clean bill of health sooner, rather than later.
"We'll stay warm walking. And just because it's hard, doesn't mean it's not fun. I loved gymnastics when I was a kid. And swimming." She laughed as she tugs her coat closed. Even when she had taken to the streets she'd made time for swimming. Well, ok, maybe it wasn't her pool, but it was still swimming.
They're quiet for a bit, Selina offering her hand as they half-jog across the street to make the light. It's about a six block walk to where they are headed, but it's not bad.
"They do a good deep-dish. And bread-sticks, too. What do you think we should send to the station? Have it delivered, or should we drop it by?" She laughs slightly, pausing before they cross another intersection. It's straight for several more blocks until the neon 'Roma's' sign is spotted, and the corner hole in the wall is exposed. It's Gothic in a grey facade, but is warm, and the smell of not only adequate, but good Italian food hits you like walking into a wall.
She can't help but smile as she looks to the glass case filled with hot pizza to pick from, and desserts. Canolli, pastries, and other assorted items. As they look at the hot case, Selina snags two menus and let's Charlotte pick a table for them to sit at. There are high tops, booths, tables to pick from. "Welcome to Roma's."

"It is fun," Charlotte admits about the gymnastics, before hesitating and commenting, "I can't swim, though..." She never learned how. Swimming never made it very high on the priority list for either her or her parents when she was young, and now she kind of figures that if she'd gone as long as she has without knowing then maybe she doesn't need that skill.
As they cross the street, Charlotte at first refuses the offered hand - she can get across the street just fine on her own, thank you, even if the light's about to change. But when she sees that the press of other people might separate them otherwise, she takes Selina's hand - crowds suck. Though she lets it go the moment that the danger of that has passed.
Settling into their walk and contemplating pizza types and toppings, Selina's question gets a distracted, "What station?" Her train of thought has veered off so far from Selina's that she hasn't the slightest idea what her guardian is talking about. Though it isn't as hard to keep up with Selina physically as it is mentally - she may have just finished gymnastics practice, but that's not going to slow her down nearly as much as Selina's walking boot.
When they reach the restaurant, the moment they step inside her senses are assaulted by all sorts of delicious sights and smells. It makes her smile as she picks a booth for them to sit at - finding a somewhat quiet corner of the restaurant. It may be fun being out, but she got enough of actually being around a lot of people at school and gymnastics practice already - some quieter time would be nice. "Sausage and pepperoni with extra cheese on a deep-dish pizza with breadsticks," she announces definitively once she's seated, as she'd spent their walk determining exactly what she's craving.
