It seemed the patrol last night had been a long one. The night before he had been in Gotham working along side of Batman. And he had gotten onto a touchy subject of a certain 'brother' of his.
And he had stayed the rest of the night and most of the morning in Gotham, getting some sleep. Bruce had been right that it would have been a long ride back to Bludhaven. And he had taken Bruce up on the offer to stay.
He had left later on after having a few training runs for fun with Tim down in the batcave. Soon only to return to Bludhaven and get ready for patrol that night after going some research and look overs of case files.
And later on going to visit Kory that night since he hadn't seen her in a few days.
The morning sun had risen a few hours ago. It had been a rough patrol chasing down a few big name crooks in Bludhaven. And Nightwing had brought them down. Sure that had taken quite a bit of his time last night. But he didn't forget to pay a visit to Kory.
Which that visited had ended up being an over night. Well as much of a night that any one could get being a vigilante until about two or three in the morning.
Either way, the sun has risen long before the two had, that now lay in bed. The sound of the traffic from the city far below the rising building they stayed in. The sunlight sneaking into the room. Lighting up the once darkened apartment.
The apartment quite in shambles it looked like with the clothing that lay amongst the floor. Articles of the wing suit lay about. He had come straight there after his patrol, knowing that he hadn't talked with Kory since the day before he had gone off to Gotham.
An alarm clock radio started to go off with the forecast of the day's weather had been what woke the sleeping vigilante. The words of the forecaster not making any sense to him what so ever as he looks over at the radio. Hating the alarm for waking him from a deep sleep that he had needed.
His arms had been tucked under the pillow, pulling it closer to his head as his bare chest lay against the mattress. His shaggy black hair seemed to stand in all which directions as he wanted to bury his face into the pillow. Wanting to just go back to sleep.
His lazy blue eyes, sweeping over still trying to adjust to the late morning light. Oh, how he hated that alarm clock. He loathed it for waking him from such a sleep.
Slowly, he freed one arm from under the pillow. Too tired to hardly bring himself to do so, his hand reaching for the clock. And once it had reach it. It hit around searching the top of the clock aimlessly for the off button.
Once the room was once again silent, Dick let his arm hang off the bed as he lay there flat out. To tired to move. He just wanted to go back to sleep. Cures Kory for leaving that alarm clock on...
He'd make sure next time he came over to unplug it or at least make sure it was off. He needed as much sleep as he could get. And right now, his entire body felt about as heavy as led. His body feeling quite sore. And if he wasn't so tired, a slight smile would have been on his face.
Dick could feel the shifting in the space beside him. Kory must be getting up. And he knew he'd sooner or later feel a hand rest upon him. Either that or Kory leaning onto him to greet him from his sleep.

Yesterday had come and gone. It had been a long couple of days in New York, but Kory had found herself back in Bludhaven. If her timing couldn't of been better it seemed. As not much after setting her feet in her door. A little birdie came at her window. Whether he was trying to be cute or being safe not to get caught, it had certainly brightened her evening. Coming from her family only to be met with the one she probably felt the most love for. It was more than good to see him. More than even Kory wanted to admit, though Kory in no ways was hiding her excitement. Like Donna always said at the best of times, just give him space and Dick would see it for himself. It wasn't new. Seeing him like that. Tired and rather beat down. It was just that question whom? Was it him? Was it Bruce this time? Was it someone else? Kory could simply do nothing else, but be here. Be there for him when he needed. Just like last night. Until neither could take no more and fell asleep. It was true they walk into a room and it is filled with passion. Knowing the morning would rise and Kory could ask exactly what she had missed.
The sun did come in first. Lightly upon her cheeks and Kory defiantly felt it though still very much asleep. Peacefully asleep. No haunting dreams claimed her last night. With him Kory felt less alone, the company was more than desired. Tangled up in a bound cocoon that were the sheets around her bare orange body. Her leg tangled slightly with Dick's own. To remind her that he was there. Then came out of no where. Her alarm. Well his alarm technically, in the case he needed to wake up. Kory didn't normally have a problem in greeting the morning. Of course as always it was personalised. With some song that reminded her greatly of joy and exactly what it meant. So it wasn't annoying to be woken up by it. In fact it made her smile her eyes remained close. Mouthing the words under her breath. Reaching out a hand to move it through her tousled red hair. Before stretching a little. She was not planning to leave the bed, not so quickly. She needed the relaxation just as much as he did. Still sleepy herself, but she was happy to drift in and out, as she slowly came back to the present world.
Her curiosity rose her a little more as Dick began to stir. Reacting to the noise, sometimes he needed to let the smallest things go. She could feel and sense his protest. His need to turn it off. Opening one of her green eyes. Watching him reaching for the alarm. Kory couldn't help but giggle. Half rolling her eyes at his actions. He was cute and he never knew it. As if trying to push out of his mind she was here and she knew that would prove to be difficult for him. After all he was the one that came visiting. It was only polite. She smiled and laughed. Knowing it would have echoed in his ear, just brushing it off as hopefully dream. X'hal. Kory cursed a few times under her breath. That she became shortly breathless (if she did breathe) in her attempts to become somewhat untangled. Finally. Kory breathed. Soon she did her own reaching, despite himself. It surely wasn't hard to overcome him. Firstly placing her hand upon his bare arm, it sure was an enjoyable search. As her hand came to the alarm Dick had turned off. Bumping the button, mostly because she wanted to hear the rest of the song and it wasn't the end of the world. As she did. The music came back, the fast beat was pure joy with the moves like jagger. Better. Much better. She smiled softly as slowly pulled back. Not before kissing Dick on his cheek. Fingers tangled sweetly through his hair.
"You know I like this song…. My bed, my rules!!!"
Kory made a point of saying as she playfully spoke in his ear. Doing her attempts to least wake him up enough to give her his undivided attention. She after all hadn't seen much of him in the past days. Catching up was needed not in the ways they had last night. Though of course Kory in truth didn't want to disturb him too much, knowing. She could see he was tired. It was a little concerning, mostly because she didn't know why. He was usually tired, but he seemed drain more of spirit than he normally was. When he was like this. It wasn't a good sign. He needed the touch of something of someone that understood. That he could… Trying to at least get him to look at her, because that would make it a lot easier for her and save her tackling him. He couldn't give up much of a fight. Before he could protest, Kory lightly pointed out who's bed this was. Whose home he had invaded. Of course in her reality it was also his home. His bed, he just couldn't admit what his actions showed and what he felt. A finger lightly played upon his lips. Before attempting to pull in his lips to her own, refusing her would just be a cruel game.
"Hi… We didn't get much of a chance to catch up last night. So how are you?"
Greeting Dick with the hi that Kory wasn't sure she had really gotten to say last, out now. As she pulled away. Her voice wasn't overly loud, but kind. Direct as always. As the music filled the room in the back. Bringing her head back to the pillow. An arm still extended out across his body, soon her finger traced his skin. Settling her the rise in her chest. As her eyes looked across to him. Over him. Taking to the words she had also forgotten to last night. Yep, now seemed a good a time as any. As she sweetly smiled to him. He knew full well who he had just fallen in bed beside. Why would he begin to forget that now?

Dick could feel her moving her legs as he had shut the alarm off. And could hear her laugh at him for it. As soon as he felt her hand cross over his back and to his arm. He knew she was going for the alarm again.
He groaned as he buried his face into the pillow over the noise coming back on again. He really did want to just sleep. Avoid everything for now....Sleep now, everything else later.
As she had moved in closer to him, he could feel her breath on his ear as she spoke softly. Her words and touch upon his skin sending shivers down his spine. Oh, how he loved that touch. And how much he could hate it right about now for trying to get him up. But he could not hate the woman it belonged to.
His headed turned, no longer face down in the pillow. His eyes sleepily looked in her direction. He wanted to answer back, but felt so tired. He could feel her fingers trace his lips. Dick did not refuse the light kiss. His motion slower than her own. Letting her come to the kiss more then he had reached for it.
He then pulled away and lay his head to rest again on the pillow. His eyes shutting again as he wanted so much to just be able to sleep. He ignored the music playing for now.
"Yes, I do. And this may be your bed, but I'm the guest. So, I say it should be off," Dick protested to her. But in his words were more joking than serious.
He wasn't about to tell Kory what she could and couldn't do. Though he had wished she would have let him sleep longer. She was a morning person. He wasn't. He liked his night life as much as he liked going out and having fun. Waking up was something he never liked.
Laying flat out on his stomach for the time he had been asleep, Dick finally started to move a bit as he turned slightly to face Kory more as she spoke.
"Tired," Dick replied. His sleepy blue eyes looking at her as he lay there looking at her.
She really didn't have to ask how he had felt. It was pretty obvious from how he was action that morning. But he knew Kory just wanted to know what was going on with him.
"Some of us don't get up with the sun so easily...And I'll say, I can definitely tell who had the most energy last night," Dick said as he completely shifted to his side.
Bring his arms sluggishly to him. He then grabbed the pillow and pulled it under his head more. He shifted a bit more toward her. He could feel that he had definitely had less blanket than she had had last night. His legs barely covered. And the upper half of his chest uncovered to the air.
He could clearly see Kory had that blanket tucked around her quite a bit. Both his arms still clinging to the pillow as he lay on his side. He was more comfortable this way. Not minding that she had gotten most of the blanket that night. Probably happened while any tossing and turning in their sleep.
"And can't we catch up later? I'd rather enjoy getting some more sleep," Dick said.
Feeling her fingers trace his skin though seemed to be getting his attention. She always seemed so alive. And full of energy. Even now with them laying in bed. The music seemed to only fuel her energy for getting up.
Bring and arm from underneath his pillow, he moved it and brought it over to Kory. Taking her into his arm slightly with his hand resting on the small of her back. Almost wanting to pull her in more.
Though his energy level just not quite at that level to really have much fuel to taunt her as they lay there. Wanting to lean in and kiss her more, but he couldn't bring himself to. He just wanted to lay there with his head on the pillow and her in his arms, if she wanted to stay.
But knowing Kory, she'd try to do what she could get to him out of bed. "I answered your question, so can we please just go back to sleep now," he pleaded. Letting his eyes close again for a bit. Enjoying what had been left of the sleep he was about to leave.

It was simply amusement hearing the sound he was making before trying to find a safe place within the pillow. Really it was quite cute, but his protests hadn't swayed her. Eventually pushing the button. The magic box began to sing again. As Kory herself hummed along. In her attempts, it brought her closer and her desire to cuddle him was very much there. To cover the grounds or however these humans liked to say it. Her lips curled upon feeling his skin react. He was extremely cute like this. When he was sleeping, but certainly he could find his voice. He didn't need to open his eyes, but Kory sure enjoyed looking at them. As if he read her mind or more read through her touch. Dick turned his head. His eyes moved over towards her. Feeling her own swirl suddenly stop for a moment, before suddenly kicking up in gear. Recalling she had seen great passion in them last night, but really seeing them now. A sweet smile came to Kory at the touch of his lips. Added proof that he was here. Frowned slightly, she wasn't sure if him letting her fall was just out of being polite or if it was something else. Not to confuse. It was still a good kiss. Making sure to catch what she could before he pulled away. Frowned more as Kory watched him close his eyes. Dropping her gaze as she pondered just what Dick was feeling. If she could…
"Guest? You did show up, unannounced. Its just your luck my window was open. Although I could of sworn I had… If I stop it now, it'll ruin the song, maybe next time."
Guest? Really? Kory questioned as she looked over at him, as she was playing along. It half made him sound like a stranger. He was far from that. Kory could also joke lightly. In regards to his usual maybe I'll show up and most of the times it was random, not that she had a problem with it at all, but he was walking the fine line to the title of guest. Though at her own mentioning of the window. Kory then peered over at it. She could of sworn it was shut before she left, it wasn't locked, but it was more you had to open it from the inside. Of course he was smarter than he looked, Kory just could hope she didn't need to fix the window. Yep it was a little too late now. As Kory innocently smiled to him. Watching him as Kory herself laid her head back. Rather comfortably. Tracing any give aways as he began to look at her more directly. Tried to smile at his words. That was clear. He was sleepy. If it was just that, then sure she'd be inclined to make sure he slept as much as he needed, but this was more than just lack of sleep. Just from the way he looked. It was telling he wasn't just here because he missed her.
"Just in general? You look more than tired, Dick. You barely spoke two words to me last night."
Curious Kory asked. Was he tired just from simply not being able to sleep for the past days or was there more to it? Then Kory could be wrong in her assumptions, but how was she to know if she didn't ask. He wasn't always so forth coming with his words. And last night. As Kory mentioned to Dick. Not that Kory minded at all, she had desired him just as much and probably wanted it even more than he did. It was fuzzy memory of whom really took the first step last night or in their case the first grab. As she grinned playfully at him. She may not have physical proof as he did, but her mind wasn't far past it. Even knowing she could go for another round, but laying here close to him was just as joyful. Her green eyes shifted to look at him at his comment about the sun. Not soon before laughing softly as if he had just read what she was thinking or he was least warm and at least last night wasn't a distant memory yet.
"I can honestly say I didn't wake up excited, just because of the sun… That maybe so, but you seemed pretty determined…"
Kory kindly stated in her defence, it elevated her powers so of course it was greatly appreciated and he clearly had last night, but her attention. Her eyes were upon him. Though not meaning to say it as an overly heavy burden kind of thing. Just a sweet thing, that she also enjoyed waking up to him beside her. He was defiantly a good view. As much as he was tried, his body language seemed to be saying the same as she had. Watching him shift to look at her more directly and shimmy in closer. Making her skin tingle and her the fuzzy feeling inside was much in delight. She'd give him that much, he was cute cuddling up to his pillow and skin exposed. Kory's toes curled slightly, before they danced a little to the music in the background. Laying down mush relaxed herself, shifting to her side to also face him. The sheets were tucked around her, but she was hardly tangled now. Her feet moved to playfully find his. Would they be kind or would they put up a fight?
"Of course, so long as 'later' doesn't come with 'sorry I'm busy now'. You are cute when you sleep… By the way, who's Selina? You calling out Bruce's name isn't anything new."
It wasn't giving in. He needed sleep also for his health and well being. Last thing she wanted was to effect that, though playfully and sarcastically commenting incase this later would follow with another excuse to avoid. Finger failed to leave his skin. Sweetly trailed his cheek as she mentioned how cute he was when he slept. Sometimes he'd slip something. If she didn't know him and his line of work, she would have assumed he was dreaming of some weird zoo… Mostly he was quiet or least until she fell asleep. She could only hope if he dreamed of her, she gave him peace. Looking to him teasingly, he sure made the bed more entertaining that was for sure. Of course she was maybe hinting more than there really was. Oh! Kory mouthed, but let her body respond. As his arm reached over to her. This was feeling more and more perfect. Joyed that he least wasn't pushing her out of the bed or worse away. So she happily abided. By getting closer. A gasp half escaped at his hand to her back. At this point she wasn't going to be able to volunteer to be the first to leave this spot. She wasn't in a great mood to leading them into that direction again either, later. Kory smiled knowing he had thought about it, but waiting would help the fire grow so to speak. Didn't mean the fire wasn't always there… Noting his attempt, but failing to even lift his lips. Was this just him being human or him being himself? Kory smiled as she amusingly looked to him. Before leaning in to playfully kiss him, but with his weak lips. She aimed mostly to plant kisses upon his cheeks. Little chance he could resist them now as she laughed gently in his defeat. Lightly attacking him, but hopefully not too over the line of being annoying. Just holding off his sleep just a little bit longer. Least to help give him a peace of mind. Although Kory was in her mood, she could taunt him in her playful ways all morning and see how much she can make him smile.
"I'm fine by the way… I'll more than happily, but I have one more question. Were you avoiding my calls? I understand you get busy and we agreed to take things slow, but Roy said you picked up when he called. He mentioned you sounded distant… Before last night, I would have thought I had done something to upset you… Or is it something else?"
Kory playfully pointed out as if he had politely asked how she was. Because of course he wanted to know. More than just physically. Teased him with her look, given she wasn't to bothered by the fact he was both male and human. Oh, right he was tired. Least he was cute. Kory grinned that she would compile to his wish for more sleep. As her head either found his pillow or his arm was the pillow. Either one was very comforting and Kory had no desire of leaving. Not yet, but she had to ask what had been on her mind on and off the past days. She hadn't called him so many times, but generally he would call back or something eventually. Kory wasn't to worried he got busy, it happened, but given Roy managed. It did make her wonder if something was up. Everything seemed to be going good between them last she checked, then last night and even now when he pulled her closer. Let's just say he didn't make things generally clearer, but now seeing him in the flesh. She could sense that distance herself, but if it wasn't her. Then what was it?

"Not like I wasn't wanted," Dick replied.
A slight smirk coming to his face on that subject. He knew he hadn't been the only one that night enjoying last night's event.
"Now how can I look more tired than already being tired," Dick commented.
He lay there on his side looking at her as he answered. Avoiding anything he could. Almost a stony ledge that would be hard to crack. But it wasn't like he had much to hide.
"Hey, being determined and having passion are two different things. It's one or the other in this case though," Dick replied. "And if your wondering....No, I did not break an enter. I just worked the lock on the deck doors. It's not that hard with the pick I have."
If he had wanted to break an enter, he could do so easily. That was the thing about the vigilantes, the were sometimes as good or better than the professional crooks that robbed places.
"Selina? Why do you ask? Did I say something in my sleep about her," Dick asked.
He became a bit more alert now. Now resting himself up a bit more on the pillow. A little more energy coming back to him. Something that often would happen when he might be protecting something. Or not letting others know something.
"But to answer your question, she id just a friend of mine. Someone I meet at one of Bruce s charity parties once. We run into each other every now and then," he did then explain.
He sank back down onto the pillows a bit. Leaning more onto his back slightly as he listened to her. She really wasn't going to give up that morning.
"What that? It was nothing really. Don't worry about it. I just got sorta busy with all the work I needed to log into the computer systems and working on a few new projects. You're over thinking the whole situation," Dick replied.
He wasn't trying to sound mean or anything. He as just slightly still tired to worry about all that was going on.

He had her there. Kory thought humbly at his remark. Dick was very much wanted. In this house. In this bed. At her touch. He had very nice skin. Eyes. Kory smiled. If ever she made him feel unwanted, it wasn't what she wanted. As Kory sweetly watched from what area she had claimed on the bed. Not so tangled, so it only meant he was easier to touch if she felt like it, but she'd have to restrain from teasing him. It maybe hard to fight back from being tickled to death. In which Kory laughed softly. It was a joyful morning after a joyful night, Kory could give it that much and the day in bed seemed the ultimate desire right now.
"You defiantly were a well received surprise. If you haven't noticed I enjoy your company, almost as much as your smooth moves."
Simply Kory put it. Not going to disagree and happily nodded. Kory was more than happy to see him come through her window. Eventually in her room. He helped to add that touch of home. Kory lightly play upon how she enjoyed his company. All this time spent, it had to be clear given all he hadn't changed her perception of him. She was still here. Speaking of moves? Kory looked to him. At the feel of the music. He was defiantly fun to watch dance, but that maybe a stretch. Though did find herself caught in the loop of the catchy song. Looked to him joyfully, though at his comment. He was trying to confuse her.
"I could be wrong, but I'm guessing its not just lack of sleep. I can tell when your worn out…Its why you came last night, you needed to find reasons to smile again."
Kory was more than gentle in her words. The last thing she needed to do was put words in his mouth. If he truly didn't want to talk, then they didn't have to talk. As her eyes trailed. It just wasn't hard to tell he had a lot on his mind and in coming over was a way to try to push them aside. With such negativity around you, its only natural one would seek something more positive. There was always that moment when he would visit her and he would smile. A true smile as if it had been a very long wait since the last. Kory was sure she caught it last night, but she played a finger gently at his cheek to make sure. In which doing so, she shifted closer to him. In the comforting way, but still the tingles at the touch of his skin. His arm was a sweet touch. Kory seeped out a laugh, before as if her own mind had crashed down to Earth, her hair half buried in the pillow and the rise in her chest caught up.
"You are always filled with passion, believe me I felt it last night. I just meant you were determined in your actions. Which I did vastly enjoy… How very crafty of you… I can be crafty too."
A look came to Kory in her response to his passion, that was defiantly not what she had meant by his determination. You just don't lose passion and especially not him. Fingers played more towards his chest at this point. As her own eyes played with his own. Quite happily to find somewhat of a cocoon in his arms, but at his mentioning of his methods to get through her window. Kory couldn't help giggle up a soft laugh. Was too cute. Somehow it flashed an image of him as Robin. Scaling her walls with his athletic moves and tricks from the circus. Kory was sure he was very graceful. Her hands slipped from his skin. To find herself half crawling over him again in her attempts, ignoring if he protest, she was herself determined as she smiled sweetly. As she made the general sounds that she was trying to find something. As she slide open the draw and sprung a delightful sound when she found it. Crawling back, slipped a little, but only to find half landing on top of him wasn't so bad. Or had he pulled her. As fumbled the little object in her hand to offer it to him.
"Its yours if you want it… Not that I'm discouraging you from your tricks…"
Kory kindly offered Dick the spare key. As if it had been there waiting for him. Making sure he didn't take offence. Kory looked to him kindly. Rather amused, as she was sure now with a key there be more chances he'd spring up on her at random times. Next step would be moving in, but baby steps. As Kory sweetly planted her kiss, as laid half of herself on top of him. In not in great desire to move. Her giggles muffled. Toying with him playfully. Distracting him a little more from his sleep. It had been plenty of nights since she saw him. Her eyes traced the details in the closeness of his face. Still the same handsomeness. Falling to another kiss, but his questions stopped her. Kory moved back to slip to her pillow, reluctantly. As she looked to him sincerely and smiled.
"Not in great details I could understand. There was something about claws, but it was mostly mumbles… Oh she sounds lovely. I'm just a little relieved she's a real person… Oh, and how is Bruce? And Tim, is he feeling at home?"
Kory assured him it wasn't a lengthy conversation in his dreams. Most of it she didn't make sense of was mostly why she asked. At one point she wasn't sure if he was having a nightmare or a dream. It seemed to ease at her touch and his mumbles just drifted her off to sleep as a much delightful sound. She smiled softly, as he told her who Selina was. Yes, glad to know she was real. Though at the mentioning of Bruce, Kory thought it only polite to ask. Perhaps a little suspicious. Though she was also curious as to how Tim was fitting in. It had to be a change for everyone with what happened to Jason and the new Robin. Though Tim almost seemed the missing piece of the puzzle. Her eyes settling upon his more alert ones. Resting comfortably in her spot. Feeling he was waking up to her more now, but then moved on his back. As if frustrated. She didn't linger long, she moved towards him. Her hand ran across his torso as she rested upon her elbow and a leg strung over his own. Smiled, but her eyes ran over him with concern at his words.
"No, Dick I'm not worried. I just wasn't sure what the situation was. I'm happy to see your at least physically unharmed. Just harmed by extra work by the sounds… If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to, but you can if you want to. I just want you to feel comfortable. As I'm sure your aware I spoke with your boss and you officially have the day off… So you can sleep…"
As gentle as Kory could kindly be to assure Dick as from his words he thought she was stressing from it, it was quite the opposite. More a case no idea what has happened. It really wasn't until Roy mentioned and Donna assumed. Kory was curious naturally. The signs were easy enough to pick up on. Kory sweetly offered Dick the chance to talk about what ever was on his mind if he wanted or needed to. Even if he didn't want to tell her what exactly, just what it was causing him to feel. It would do better out and then they could move on. Kory would only bring it up once. As the rest of the day would be a relaxing one. Not that Kory could stop him from leaving, but she knew he didn't want to. He needed a vacation, so a mini one seemed less likely to cause him a heart attack. He wanted to forget whatever was tailing him and Kory was defiantly up for helping. She was in no ways protesting him from sleep, even if she was enjoying the attention. Kory could also enjoy watching him sleep. As Kory was laying him sweet affections for light distraction, particularly the pecks on the cheek. Before feeling the silent background and the itch. Rolled her lip. Just one more time. She thought innocently as she looked to him with a teasing pout.
"Just one more, then you can sleep. Please?"
Looking to him sweetly as Kory put her request for one more time with the music. As she motioned with her hand as if a promise it would just be one, there be plenty of time through the day if she felt a great need. Adding the polite please, Kory was sure he'd happily press the button. It could help him fall to sleep. Her finger gently traced around his chest as she smiled.

"I already knew that," he said over her comment of enjoying his company.
He looked over at her. Giving a slightly confused look. Almost playing dumb to the fact Kory could pick up on his emotions so well.
"What are you talking about? I can't have a reason to just come and visit for a night without being questioned over it," Dick said.
He listened to her. Lingering there with her as they lay together. His hand slightly pulling her closer as it was now on her mid back.
"Crafty? That's just skill," he said.
Then she started to try and crawl across him. He was about to question her actions as she reached for the draw. Not that he wasn't minding it all that much. He had let his hand drop from its place it had been on her back so she could have more freedom.
He was a bit curious as to what she was up to. But he would find out soon enough. He let her go as she then looked like she had found it. Then worked her way half way back onto the bed, but still laying slightly on him.
Dick then saw the key she was holding out. Had she been planning this? And how long had she had that in there?
A few questions running through his head. She knew not to push sooner than to pull him over the relationship stuff. And she knew commitment wasn't an easy thing to suggest to him.
Look how well his relationship with Babs had gone. Thing felt apart quickly when they jumped into things. At least for Dick they did.
Dick reached up and took the key from her. Not really saying anything in reply over it.
After her questioning him, Dick was definitely losing the comfort of being able to sleep again. And her movement towards him, just many him wonder. Really bring up subjects like this in the morning after a night was not something he enjoyed. But he should know by now. He couldn't get much pass Kory.
"She is real. She's just a friend of mine. As for Bruce, he's doing alright. And Tim seems to be taken on the role rather well. He just seems unsure of it all at times," Dick replied.
"There is no situation," Dick said after listening to her.
He half sat up, a bit annoyed at the moment. But that wouldn't last long. He was quite tired and not up for a fight over anything.
He sighed and let his head fall back to the pillow. Taking a breath from the conversation at hand. And at her next words, he looked over at her.
"Like you said, this is your house and your bed. Your rules. I'm not going to stop you if you want the music on," he said giving in to her pouting over the matter.

It was the slowly coming down to earth kind of morning. Especially with such closeness, it was how it was meant to be. Just felt a little one sided, but it didn't stop her from smiling. As Kory heard his simple comment by her ear. He was in a serious mood it seemed. The simple question was why, but it was plain hard it seemed in his mind. Kory gently danced her fingers round his eye. Tracing the shape of the bone for any other reason than it just felt right. Even though he was here, he didn't feel here in mind. Even if it was one of those things Kory couldn't put her finger on, but she wasn't here to push him.
"What gave it away?"
Kory lightly played in her questioning. He was maybe distant, but she knew he was there. Was it so wrong for her to enjoy even the simplest moments, even if he could see it for what it actually was. He could sleep, but she wanted her eyes open. She wanted to see him just as much as feel him. As she softly giggled joyful at his closeness. The gentle touches did lightly tickle her. Her hand fell from the contours of his face, to his chest. As confident and strong Kory was, she still had goosebumps. The good kind. Half falling into her pillow more as his words grew that little more bitter. Really what had she done wrong? In pushing her away in his words, he was pulling her closer with his arms. As it made her feel quite confused. Just in what way was he wanting her.
"Dick, I wasn't attacking you… There is no need to do it to me, simply because I care about you… I wasn't questioning, was it not what you wanted?"
As gentle as Kory could say, but also directly. He wasn't in a great mood it was clear, she wouldn't simply dance around him if that's what he was expecting from her. Surely she deserved a little more than that, with everything they've been through. As simple as she could say that she had questioned his reasons to come. She was simply trying understand where he was. Though with his irritations about the previous night, was it not enough? Kory questioned because clearly something was missing and he didn't have very straight answers. Her eyes looked to him rather concerned, but mostly just in search as to why she was here. She knew he loved her, it was just uncertain as to how exactly sometimes. Especially when she could feel it as he pulled her closer. In some way he wanted her. She allowed the affections, though she wasn't as giving in her own…. Kory grew a smile at his words about skill. In his own he was still trying. It was defiantly something that he was here. Did he want to be here as much as she wanted it? Maybe… She was trying to at least rise a smile out of him. She could sense some reaction in her attempts to crawl over him to reach the side table. In her playful way of course. It least took his mind else where. Could sense the interest as she eventually came back to him, though still some limbs remained upon him. Her smile grinned before him. He felt so much like home to her. Kissing him sweetly on the cheek. As she gave him the key. No response. Her smile somewhat faded. He didn't want it? There was a pause as he looked at the key. There was questions in his eyes. Who really was he looking at? Then he reached and took the key. With little to no emotions.
"Dick, its just a key… If it was more, I would tell you. I don't just keep secrets because I enjoy them… Just take it as sign this may make things easier for you, especially with surprising me. "
She couldn't just brush it by, she couldn't avoid the questions in his eyes. He only had to ask it of her, but somehow Kory felt the questions. It was rather disheartening that he would question her. As honestly she was trying to make it out to him. It was only him that was making more that this was and he should know how secrets weren't always a pleasant thing. Of course when it came to protect those she cared about, then really no question, but to keep secrets simply to hurt. That she just couldn't do. Secrets in general were vastly against her nature. Of course she found the lighter way of putting the use of the key as she smiled. If he really wanted to make the key out as something else than she intended then she couldn't stop him, but she would prefer him to see it more positive. Her eyes played. Perhaps in suggesting he could come over whenever he wanted then, but he was doing that already. So only thing that changed was the addition of the key. Did he see the overreaction yet?
"I don't want to read Nightwing fell because he was too tired. Like I said I am rather fond of you…"
So that was a light dig, but he was not playing very nice. Though she did mean it when looking his tired eyes. Did he really think she wanted to see him hurt let along cause it herself. If humans wanted to be confusing in order to get the truth such in sarcasm then Kory could try it. As her finger played sweetly across his cheek at her mentioning her fondness of him. If anything he should not question what she felt for him, because if he wanted space. She's happily give it to him, but she wouldn't let him simply push her away, knowing he could possibly regret it later. She was a tamaranean, she needed strength. She would never play weak. But being tamaranean also meant she had hope. She would always be waiting, but maybe not always here. He couldn't trap her anymore than she could trap him.
"I don't want to settle now anymore than you do, but don't let the fear push me away. All I want is you, in the moment… I'm sorry if somehow you think this is a trick, but it really is just a key..."
She wasn't going to lie that sure one day, she desired they'd end up a little more sure than they were now. If anything more Kory simply didn't want to be alone. To die alone was quite her biggest fear. With the six years she had in where she had the thoughts of actually wishing death and knowing no one most likely would care. Which she had fought and survived, still the fears of that played at her heart. Who was she to the world? To the universe? She had yet to find that out, they were both still so young. In which Kory looked to him because in his fear of settling down with her, it did feel in ways he was pushing her away. He was putting more on this than he needed to. All she wanted was this. Him in the moment and hopefully every moment after this. She wanted to stay. She wanted him to stay. Let love take its course. Giving up just wasn't going to happen so easily. As Kory took the extra step to apologise if it had offended. She wasn't one to be so apologetic, she generally stood by what she did, but it really was just a key. As she lightly repeated. Before kissing him. Whether or not he believed her, Kory just had to hope he knew her as well as she thought.
"If you keep saying it like that, then am I meant to be worried? Roy said when a man repeats friend in that way it is more, a lie, but I'm tamaranean you see. I believe in honesty. So I believe you…"
Kory had felt the suggestion in how he was repeating Selina was just a friend. That Kory was jealous. She wasn't going to let the suggestions slip her by, he was only doing it because he was irritated and she had little understanding as to what she had done, beside kept him awake. It was hurtful if he really forgot who he fell in bed with, but she did believe him the first time he said she was a friend. Even if she was more, it didn't matter how Kory felt about it. She'd have to find the way to accept it, the multiple of love existed quite heavily in Tamaran, only the falling out of love never did. They believed in honesty. She believed what he said and he show no actions that proved her wrong. Though knowing what Roy said in regards to humans then sure she questioned, but she assured him she believed him.
"I'm sure he does, those shoes had quite a young man in them once upon a time. I'm sure he'll make them his own… He does have one thing you didn't have. That is you."
It was nice to hear as Kory responded in relation to Tim. To Robin, even though in ways she was looking at Robin right now. A rather brooding and much older Robin, but still Robin. She smiled. Her fingers gently played as she pointed that out, as if he had forgotten. Though from what she had seen. Tim would make it his own. There was only one Dick Grayson and everyone had their own destiny. Though as she thought it through. With what Dick had to deal with back then. The loneliness. Tim did have a brother. Which Dick didn't exactly have. She should know, he was once her leader and he would be there when Tim needed him. He would always be there when a friend needed it.
"Thats what I don't get… So your just angry for the fact your awake? Usually your not this angry, I usually can rise more smiles with my charm… Don't tell me I have lost it. You'll have to help me find it…"
Kory said in response of him saying there was no situation, but something was happening. Was this irritation simply lack of sleep. Sure she knew that was partial truth she could see it, but she couldn't know about the stuff she couldn't see. His need was sleep wasn't knew. He was always wanting more of it, but he usually wasn't trying this hard to push her aside. Usually the sight of her was more appealing at least she believed so in his reactions. He was somewhat showing with his actions, in pulling her close. Yet anything playful she remarked just didn't hit any place that he could take it lightly as it was meant to be. That her eyes looked caring as he sat up only to fall to the pillow. That's not what she had wanted. Not anymore. She didn't wanted to fight him. To push him. Somewhere she knew this is what Donna told her not to do. All she wished to do was be here for him, but felt the more it drove him away at least in this moment. Her rules. Trap him? She could never wish to make him feel that.
"No, you can sleep… Perhaps I should just go back to the tower. Then I can give the space you need."
There was no way Kory was going to be cause of more pain for him. As she looked over to him sweetly as she spoke. In the way he spoke it made her sound she was making him feel unwelcome and that was completely opposite of what she was trying to do. Laying back down herself beside him, as close as he was, he felt rather far away. Kory simply said it low, as if she wasn't intending to disturb him anymore. But he didn't need her to help him sleep, he wanted quiet. To himself? This again was just Kory trying to understand even a little bit of what he was wanting.

"I never said you were attacking me. I was just saying about the questioning," Dick said.
Inside, he was getting a little frustrated at the situation. But he didn't let on to that fact. He hid it, just like he would with anything else he didn't want anyone to know of.
"I didn't say anything over the matter," Dick spoke up about the key.
Kory knew him too well. She must have been picking up on the subtle things about his actions. Sometimes he hated when she would do that. There was no real way of hiding things from her.
"Don't I already come over unannounced," he questioned her.
At her joked about falling off a building, he turned to her slightly.
"You know that is what coffee is for. Why do you think I drink so much of it at times? It's not like it tastes all that good," Dick replied to her playful joking.
As Kory got back on the subject of being together, trickery, and the key, Dick getting rather annoyed with the yo-yoing between the questions and the joking. Sure he knew she was just being playful. But he could only keep his calm for so long.
"Can we please just drop the subject over the key and Selina and I being friends? This was the whole reason Barbara and I started getting annoyed over every little thing. She thought too much over the matter of one time I had another woman in our place. She over thought it, making more of it than it really was when I was helping Selina when she and I got in a motor accident together. And when we moved in, things became more complicated," Dick said angrily, but flat out.
There she had gotten it out of him. Another reason commitment just wasn't for him. Another reason he kept secrets. Because when people found out things, it became too much of a big deal.
"Tim will be fine. He'll make his own path and leave his own mark," Dick said.
He was still holding back now his annoyance once again. It wasn't Kory's fault he was in a foul mood. There could be a number of reasons for him being that way.
He left her first comment go unanswered at first. Frustrated over what all this was becoming in the morning. And all the questions and him getting annoyed with trying to answer everything when he really didn't need to.
But at the last part, he turned to her. "Just because I'm in a bad mood doesn't mean you need to leave. It's just complicated. Maybe it is the lack of sleep. Or something. I honestly don't know. And I don't want you to leave," he said.

To an extent this was Kory's fault. She had started this. To get him talking at least. To upset him directly wasn't what she had intended. Watching the anger, it certainly was hitting her in spots, but it was defiantly best out than in. Least most of the time. Kory was strong enough to take it. There was so much confusion. They had to take this road eventually. Whether this time in the morning or later, there was little way it would have changed anything. Her eyes fluttered to him at his words and she took in every bit she could. She wanted to hear his heart just as well as feel it. Even if it was confusing to him. It was defiantly driving her emotions up a scale, that she simply at to sit up and be able to actually look at him. Her eyes to his move very little else where. If there was any real anger towards her, she needed him to know it all came from the fact she cared about him.
"I wasn't trying to question… It means something that you are here, regardless as to why."
Kory sincerely said to him, she hadn't meant to come across that she was questioning why he was here, because just the fact he was, did mean a lot. Kory was desiring his company just as much as she assumed he desired her. It meant she wasn't alone and as she spoke it. She said it with as much gratitude as she could and softly smiled. Not to convince him, but because she knew it to be true. She could feel her emotions like hairs sticking up on her arm. That was how strong she felt everything. As painful or hard these emotions were from his, Kory wanted to feel them. She had to. She had to know. He was trying to hide, but he was closer to the surface. That just the little hints Kory grabbed on to. He could upset her, but he couldn't stop it from making her love for him develop. Overcome was an understatement. Even as she sat there before him silence, in his silence. Feeling his emotions. Her eyes ran over at his response to her words about the key. There was little she could say, because it was truth. He hadn't said anything. Kory just assumed and took to her voice first. She didn't regret it. She needed to tell him, there was just hints of distrust in his eyes. He was her best friend. First and always. At his remark of coming over unannounced, it did make her smile. Her hand brushing her own cheek. It was a natural reaction.
"I know… You are welcome anytime."
There was little words she could say than repeat what she hoped she had made clear, that he could come here anytime. Of course the more the better, but Kory was content with getting what she could. Otherwise if she stepped on his toes to much he might just disappear on her and she needed his friendship. Smiled with mild joy. The playful side wasn't so much there, she could see he didn't warm to it this morning, but he was still here. Not in complete lack of spirits. As he joked about the coffee, but it just didn't seem so funny to her. Not in the larger scale.
"That doesn't sound very healthy..."
Kory simply spoke to him, but caring. As his health did mean a lot to her. It sounded more like just putting a band-aid on something that probably needed to be treated first. Just covering whatever was bugging him up. She had to believe from what he said, it wasn't her… That's when he slammed her with it. Kory had this coming, right? Her eyes moved very little off him, save to gather her thoughts. Trying to soak up everything he was saying and then what he was meaning. Why was he telling her what Barbara had thought? That jolted her back far too many steps… As Kory sunk in his words of the subject of the key, which killed her smile for a good while. So he didn't want it? That hadn't been what she had expected at all. She hadn't want to push him in any which way.
"Sure, you know where it is and what you do with the key will be your choice, Dick. Not mine… It really was just a gesture, so you know you do have a home here. You don't need to live here, to have a home here."
There was a simple made smile as Kory reached to the key from him and motioned to put it back in the draw. With what more she could tell him, the subject of the key would be dropped. She just wanted to give him the feeling of some comfort, of some belonging here. Humans liked the symbolic stuff. In this case Kory thought was a nice one. She did mean it when she said what he did with the key was his choice. She was simply giving it to him. For now Kory would keep it in the draw. Even if they broke off what they had and remained friends, Kory would still offer him the key. He was her best friend.
"Dick, you didn't understand what I said. I said I believe you… I think it is wonderful Selina and you are friends, I really do. Even if you were more, it isn't a crime, Dick. It happened quite a lot on Tamaran. It is also extremely hard for us to fall out of love, so I'll always be your best friend."
Kory said as honest as she could to Dick, not that she was saying she could do what many tamaraneans did with open relationships. Kory didn't know this Selina in anyway to not have any ill feelings towards. She seemed like a good friend. That was all Kory needed to know. If Dick trusted her, then Kory trusted in it. If she were to get jealous, which can happen she isn't invincible, but she'd find a way to accept it. Regardless if she liked it. With everything she had survived she could survive that, least she could try, but to try and survive without him at all, was something Kory rather not face. She added a smile as she spoke best friend, of course it was seemingly more now and Kory would simply give that up. Looking directly at him as she spoke.
"I'm rather fond of Barbara, she's really sweet, so this isn't anything against her, but I am not Barbara. Does Koriand'r mean nothing to you?"
In trying to take in all he said in regards to Barbara. Kory wasn't sure if he was trying to compare them. Or if he was saying Kory was thinking like Barbara. It was rather confusing why he was saying what Barbara had done. As if to say don't do what she did or you might mess up. Kory was sure he hadn't meant it to sound like that, but it sure as hell did. Not that she didn't like Barbara, she very much did, but Kory wasn't Barbara as much Kory wasn't like anyone else. Let alone a human. Her question was said a little out of bitterness, mostly asked out loud, hoping he still saw her and also mostly out of confusion as to what he had just told her. She could only change so much to fit on Earth, but she would always be herself. It was nearing the end of his own words that stopped her. It overruled most of what he had said. Her eyes looked to him more concerned and much more warmly.
"X'hal, accident… What accident?"
Showing her concerned interest as she asked him. His life meant more to her, than anything else about him. The world wouldn't feel the same if he wasn't in it. Still sitting oddly on her knees at this point, as she looked to him from where she sat. Her hand went to his hand close to her and her other hand went his torso. Just to give a comforting affection. She wanted him to tell her anything he wanted. She wasn't afraid of him as he was and she was seeing him somewhat opening up even if it got him angry to do it. He needed to let go, just a little bit… At his words about Tim, Kory added a smile. Before she had taken back to her pillow, to give him the chance to sleep more. She was here because of him. Sometimes it felt he took advantage of that. Kory laid there in the near silence. She really hadn't intended to upset him in this situation, it just became it and there was little way around it now. Her eyes pained silently, she didn't want to leave him, but Donna said to back off when he was like this. It was him not Kory, but it was a lot harder to keep telling herself that. It was then he turned to her. Added bonus as he spoke. Finally something true. Her eyes had bubbled over slightly, as turned to her side to face him. Because he finally said it. He didn't want to be alone. It felt like an anchor to her heart at his last words. It was so beautiful to her ears, Kory felt she had half melted in the pillow. As her hand gently caught the tear that escaped.
"X'hal! Then I'll stay. I don't want to leave."
Her hands found either side of his face. As she very much embraced him in a kiss. She liked a reminder that she did have a place in his heart, whether or not he had figured how much space there was yet. She found it hard not to smile. When he surprised her with honesty like that it always hit in the most amazing way. Maybe because he wasn't the kind to just say stuff like that. His lies never involved things like that. As her heart fluttered down, that she could rest back on the pillow. Look to him and admired him. She did take in what he said prior, she just had to kiss him for it first.
"Dick, this, right now is opening up, don't stop. I don't need to know what it is. Just tell me how it makes you feel. If your angry let it out."
Her hand motioned to his chest in her expressing all that he had just said even if as he said he didn't know, it was something. He was opening up, Kory was sure he already felt better having said it. At least admitting there was something and it was hard. It wasn't a natural thing for nearly any human to do as Kory's race did in just feeling and embracing and then letting emotions go as they came. Humans dwelled and let the scare of the emotions control them. When really emotions were just who we were. And sharing helped. It also made her to better understand who he was, because she could feel him, but she wanted to see what she knew was already there. A bad mood was natural. Anger. As her hands expressed as smiled in throwing them out. He's seen her angry. The thing about embracing emotions like tamaraneans was you well defiantly feel them as they came. One thing was for sure none of her problems was caused by hiding them. Not that she was trying to preach to do it all her way, but whatever way he was trying wasn't helping. Right now was just them. No one else. there was nothing to fear.
