Bruce allowed a smile of indulgent arrogance to cross his face at Selina’s words. The smile was an act, and he believed that few people in the world would see through it, see the eyes that saw more than more people even imagined existed. Dick, of course, would see through all but the most well crafted deceptions, and even then, there was a good chance of it. Selina was at least as crafty as he was, and she was used to far greater ruses than he generally perpetuated. It wasn’t to fool her, and he assumed it wouldn’t. Koriand’r, though, was something else. From another planet and different customs, she was difficult to predict. She seemed to take things at face value, but could also be very shrewd in her understanding. One of the things he disliked about her most was the fact that he could never be sure how she might react to something. Calm, though, seemed to be almost never the case. Passionate, violent, joyous, vengeful, protective, yes. Even her shows of support rarely qualified as what he would call calm. The deception was for her benefit.
“Selina,” he began, his eyes devouring her as he spoke. That, at least, required no amount of deception to portray. “I could take you on the table here and now, in front our friends or with them, if they chose, and it would do nothing to diminish my appetite for you.”
His eyes lingered on her in silence for several seconds before forced his attention back to the room as a whole. He cleared his throat and took a sip of the “wine.” Smiling, his eyes went to Dick before traveling over to Kory. Dick had never had a problem with finding beautiful women, and she was no exception. It was time to learn something. He gave Kory his most sultry, penetrating stare, clearly undressing her with his eyes.
“Anticipation can be its own reward.”
He lingered on the alien for several beats of a heart before looking back to Selina. “Food first, unless you insist otherwise. I wouldn’t want to have you at a disadvantage. Besides, Alfred would sulk if I delayed his meal, and we can’t have that.”
The mention of Selina in a jump suit by Kory was, for him, a final confirmation that Koriand'r knew more than she was supposed to. Cats for ancestors, a bird and bat reference, and there was more. Exactly how much she knew, though, was a question he’d need answered. And, of course, how she knew. Dick was the most obvious culprit, but not the only possibility. After all, Bruce had already admitted not fully understanding the alien; the limits of her resourcefulness were an unknown, and he hated unknowns. But, at least at the moment, direct questioning was not an option he considered appropriate. There were times he truly hated not wearing the cowl.
“We do not require you to leave, and if I have made you feel uncomfortable, Kory, I most humbly apologize. “
He grimaced at Dick’s reference to Disco. It had died, and by Bruce’s tastes, no where soon enough. The reference to skates, though, caught his attention. “If a ‘rollerama’ is what you’re looking for, well, being the so-called Prince of Gotham does have its benefits. A few phone calls, and it will be ready before our desert is.”
He looked back to Selina, and gave her a wolfish smile. “Well, perhaps. All my desert needs is a little whipped cream and, if she's very good, a cherry.”

She had been delicately devouring her salad, her wine glass poised for another sip when he let slip...what he did. A foursome? AT the table? With his nearly son...and girlfriend? Reigning in her response, the only noticable twitch was her tighter grasp on the stem of her glass. Wow. Just...trying a bit too hard there, Bucko. Swallowing the fine vintage, Selina laid down her fork, her eyes barely catching Dick's before she turned to Bruce, the toe of one designer heel along his calf.
"As much as I do love Alfred's cuisine, Bruce," she nearly purred, her hand going to his bicep, 'You know that being greedy is a bit uncouth. Four of us? And while Kory is such a delectable, exotic treat...I don't think that Dick is willing to share." She mused, her green eyes hungrily taking in the statuesque model. "Or...would you want to do such extravagant exercises that your adopted father likes to partake in? Maybe a little bit of an introduction to the decadent Wayne night life?" She was toeing the line, and she knew it. And Dick would know it. If he didn't choke, she'd be highly surprised. But Batman or not, Bruce Wayne or not, it was tacky to bring up a foursome like that. With family, or not, blood or not.
Waving her free hand over the table, and toward the kitchen, Selina let her words sink in a moment. "I do think it would be rude to start such fun on empty stomachs...so why not indulge a bit, before we go on to dessert, Bruce. I know we might have a minute or two between courses...no? Perhaps you want a bit of an amuse bouche?" Her manicured fingertips skimmed down to his wrist, a coy, feline smile playing on her lips. This was almost, almost painful, but thankfully it was in his own home.
"Here, let me.." And in the tiny space that was his lap, between him and the table, Selina slid herself there, across his legs, a fingertip guiding his chin to face her. "A brief, palate-cleanser, Mister Wayne..." She whispered, bringing her lips to his. She hadn't missed the faint look in his eyes, speaking of Batman. Nor would be truly have missed the faint traces of Catwoman in her own words, and movements.
"You do know how I adore cream, Bruce..." came another murmur, her emerald eyes fixed on his.

This was certainly unlike the family dinners on Tamaran, but there really hadn't been a lot of time for that. Not with what was expected of a princess. A warrior. A child. A slave. There really wasn't much of the dinners again until the tamaranean had found a home in the titans. A family. This was like father and son, well trying. It was quite like watching magnets connect from the wrong ends. Just not much luck in trying to force it… Where as with herself and Dick, it was like puzzle pieces matching. Maybe very odd shaped at times, but very much a understanding. An acceptance. A love. Wasn't that what someone really wanted. Not be alone. Kory knew what she was trying to say. Mixing the knowledge of the cat suit and something more less know. Jump suit was a fashion thing, although she may have worded it wrong. As Dick gave her a look. It was quite a common fashion trend, that Kory just assumed, plus of course sounded as though like the cat suit, but by the looks of the lovely Selina, the more common trend Kory was thinking. Would look rather amazing on her.
"Oh, maybe I worded it wrong… Its a fashion sort of trend. Like, ah. Sports wear… Oh, sweat suit… You love costume parties as well, Selina?"
Kory kindly spoke with her bubbly normal positive self. Her orange cheeks with a little extra colour. Not so much out of embarrassment. She was generally very confident. Sometimes confused, but generally open to admit that. Or even her mistakes. Trying to express what she might have meant or could have. Kory stepping on toes, just wasn't her kind of deal. A plan was even further. Kory stepped before things head on. You knew long ago through training as a warrior, that so many things can be thrown at you. Happily sipping on her glass of water. Not that she needed it to sooth anything. Even though it was a little who was the pinata… In which Kory could defiantly enjoy right now. Maybe later. Least Dick was there, when it would get too confusing, recalling that everyone knew, but they didn't know that they knew. Humans!
"I never said you were childish… I said when you act like a child… Like when we play twister or when I'm trying to cook. Or when you try to steal the cotton. Like I said adorable…. I never would wish to offend you… I love you!"
As best she could express, which all Kory could do was be honest. As open as she usually was. As she could tell the confusion on his eyes. As if she had staked his heart with insults. How she had seen it. In his yes less maybe heroic moments, more child like. In a good way. Noting the games. Whether actual games or once he made into one. Kory didn't need to go into detail. Last thing she needed was to give Bruce an inside idea of what a happy home could look like. An amusing smile on her lips as she mentioned the cotton. It had a few meanings. Which Dick was open to do with how ever he wished. Grinning to him sweetly. Her hand coiled for his and kindly kissed his palm, fingers. Which ever was sweeter. This was more than just the physical thing any more, not that it get hotter, but it was a relationship now. A flower blossoming. A flower of a different kind, but beauty in its own right.
The reasons Kory was here. was most heartedly to support Dick. Not that she didn't respect nor liked Bruce. He just didn't always warm up to her and he simply was very cold. Always trying to unravel more than he really needed to. Which it was not going unnoticed that he maybe trying to get under her skin. The only thing was why? Kory was right here, trying. Being here. She bore her emotions. What she believed on her sleeves. She wasn't the secretive type as he. Not that she didn't or couldn't have secrets. Her nature was to be upfront and strong. Fearless. Brave… She could be dangerous. Violent. Had killed before. Was capable of doing it again. Though Kory was not revengeful. When things happened. She moved on. Whether they haunted her in ways she didn't realise was another thing, but in her mind she simply rather forget. She did not live for the past. She also didn't regret. She was merciless with her foes, but she was darn well a shield for her friends. She would never use or abuse them. Her orange fingers trace happily Dick's hand. His skin. As Bruce and Selina had there conversations. Though of course still much in the scenario of the others. Apparently they're sexual appetite. Kory did giggle a little as the table of made. It was not maybe expected, but Kory wasn't too taken back. Humans had they're ways of saying things and doing another. After all she was content with going else where with Dick, though looked to Dick when Bruce suggested they join. Of course knowing that wouldn't happen. It wasn't unkind of his too offer and she knew never to question what people do. After all she was from tamaran. Openness was acceptable. Especially with what he suggested. Depending on the tamaranean and for her, really wasn't what she wanted. After all she knew how Dick would be feeling about this situation. They had come here for one reason. Kory couldn't help but feel Bruce was just trying to ignore it. That was what she didn't like. It was when Selina mentioned how deletable of a treat, Kory was. That offered a slight feeling like she was some cheap cut of meat. For all Kory knew Selina was probably being literal. If she was at all feline related and it wasn't like Kory was human. So it wouldn't be cannibalism, of course Kory assumed that wasn't where it was going, but thats how she felt. Not to mention speaking as if it was all one sided. Not really close to be getting up her dress, especially insulting her race and trying to avoid the situation. All she felt was jealousy and ways to hurt Dick. If Bruce at all wanted to mend ways with his so called 'son', this wasn't the way to do it.
"I rather not be eaten like some poor piece of meat, you've already insulted my people tonight and whilst I appreciate the thought. I don't like nor enjoy hurting the ones I love. Especially not intentionally! I thought we were here to patch 'that' up?"
There was not a huge sharpness in her tongue. Kory was still with her polite nature, but she was honest. Just enough sharpness that it she hoped expressed her point, if she indeed was getting what was happening correctly. That she was the target. Rather not be apart of that. Deception was crude. Very crude. As Kory mentioned he had already insulted her. Probably not the first, but she had already forgiven moved on, but there after all ways to make her feel uncomfortable. It just seemed odd how she would be putting her hand up. Not that some people wouldn't. Kory knew what would be fall if what Bruce suggested happened. One sure way of hurting Dick. One thing Bruce lacked to give Dick what Kory could was love. As was very much behind Kory's choice of words. She meant every bit of them. Her eyes very much expressed that to Bruce. To Dick. Trying to recall why they were here in the first place. It wasn't about her. This was about family. If this was like father and son, this wasn't a way around it. Kory knew Bruce loved Dick. He just was poor in showing it. Saying and acting upon them were two different things. What really was he so afraid of? Of course if Bruce really wanted a moment with Selina, Kory wouldn't stop it. There was places Dick and Kory could go. The flirtatious behaviour between was so awkward for her, but was for Dick. Putting all this and more on it. Kory knew it wasn't easy for Dick to have come here and to sit through all this. Knew that Dick was very much in belief of the relationship being one on one. Not that they couldn't be affectionate in public, but it wasn't for that benefit. Just going with emotions. Special.
"It can be a reward, when it's deserving… I, you know when I went by the kitchen… i took a sneak peak. A taste. It is really good… Alfred even offered to give me the recipe… I'm still compiling you're favourites, of course."
The lingering gaze, merely made her shift in her chair a little. She was used to the gaze. Whether it was to undress her, which she was comfort in her body in a lot less. Whether it was out of a positive outlet or simply because she was different. An alien. It was not new and one could be entitled to their own thoughts. Opinions. There wouldn't be much of a shot, when one couldn't understand them. Or care to try. Smiling softly. As she heard the mention of the food. Giving Dick the knowing look. Given she had crossed the kitchen earlier. Saw most of the dinner. The aroma alone was to die for. As Kory admitted she snuck a taste in and hinted it wasn't to be missed. Especially after all the work. Even possibly snagged a recipe. Although that might take a few attempts. Her cheeks coloured delightfully as she assured she was trying to get Alfred to give her Dick's favourite recipes. Only there were quite a lot of them than she expected. So of course Kory could make them at home. Although Alfred might have kept some so not to give Dick less reasons to drop by.
"I'm quite content with comfort, I don't mind Dick's room… I haven't seen it as often to remember it so well…. Though I am very delighted we can stay. gratitudes."
With her bubbly smile Kory assured she was fine with the level of comfort, she didn't like dwelling on such things, besides the up side was this was a dinner. Dinners were usually more uplifting, right? Plus the chances of reconnecting. Conversations. Dancing. It all should revel in something delightful. Kory just offered an amusing look, in regards to have offered to leave for Dick's room. Really didn't dislike his room, but there was always chances later. So Kory was happy to stay and hopefully eat really good food. With added bonus cheers. Kindly thanking Bruce. Sometimes, he really did have kind charms. He was also important to Dick, so Kory on some level cared for Bruce.
"Oooh, tempting… Very tempting… Its just not the same! Especially without the cool green moves. Or flashy pants! I can honestly still say I was…. Surprised… I suppose if they're not busy?"
Kory expressed happily. Bubbly. Giggles of course. Paused in between. A roller dies, would be a lot of fun… It had been some time, but was it the same in Gotham? Without the titans? Without Gar as she laughed openly. Wally. Her hand came to her mouth, recalling some moment, that Dick would surely had been present for and well it was Wally. Of course Kory knew how to say without giving it all a way, but Dick would have understood. Bruce, almost. All the secrets of Batman, Kory knew. Was pretty much Dick was how she knew. That shouldn't be a surprise to Bruce, given how many years Dick and Kory have known each other. Work together. Four of those years, dated. She wasn't just a girl he had brought home. She was his best friend. He trusted her. She trusted him. Kory questioned Dick about maybe if their friends joined, but this seemed hardly the situation. Not to mention they were probably busy. A hand upon Dick's hand on his lap. Mostly for the support and mere fact she liked touching him. Remaining close.
"Yes, because you're gloves keep to themselves… Speaking of cream. We do have the cotton candy machine waiting in my room!…"
There was a knowing look on her face upon hearing it was still his room. Kory could redecorate it, well maybe. She still wished for him to move in, but it would be nice to make the places he slept even without her, more comfortable. Amusingly responded to Dick stating there was nothing exciting about his gloves. Well true given they were just made of fabric, but they were his gloves. Like his pants. Although Kory much preferred his legs. Chest. Smiling to him with a brow. Kind of like in the car when she joked about learning to keep his hands off her. She really didn't want him to stop. More or less encouraged it. Though of course there was always a time and a place. Class. She was a guest and she was a princess. Even not, there was some level of dignity. Not really paying close attention, because she wasn't the judging type and there was personal business. Though picking up from the whole desert. Cream. Kory sweetly leaned to Dick, mentioning the cotton candy machine in her bedroom. Of course he knew given he surprised her with the machine. It just made it more convenient it being in her bedroom. There was always fun to go home to.

What was Bruce trying to do? This was the Bruce Wayne act, but there was more behind it. He knew Bruce well enough. This wasn't an average conversation for a group dinner. Even with friends. Dick hadn't seen this side before....Well maybe small subtle subjects. Though with the bold statements like this, he knew something was up.
And all it was doing was making Dick uncomfortable. Not that Selina wasn't an attractive woman. But what Bruce was suggesting was crossing the line. He hadn't expected the conversation to swing to this tone.
He could take the jokes over Selina and Bruce, but to include him and Kory in that way...Besides the places Kory and Dick have had their fun, the list would be interesting. And not a topic he was planning on sharing to someone like Bruce at all.
Dick remained collected while all this was going on. The comment between Bruce and Selina clearly showed Selina was taking up the challenge. And knowing Bruce he'd keep at until he got whatever it was he was after. As to what that was....there were a few thoughts.
Watching the reaction between all of them, it was easy to tell who seemed a bit shocked. And Kory and Dick had been the ones to be drawn back from all this. He shot a slight glare towards Bruce over the way he was looking at Kory. There was definitely something else going on in his mind besides the talk at the table.
"I prefer my nightly activities. I get enough of a workout," Dick replied coolly.
The statement could go either way over his activities. And he wasn't about to let Bruce get the better of the situation. Even though it would be clear enough to Bruce that Dick was getting agitated with this behavior. That of a son burning in the embarrassment that a father was creating.
"Besides, you two wouldn't be able to keep up with a fiery thing like Kory," Dick replied.
Pulling some of his own tricks out of a bag. If they were going to keep it up, he was going to go along for a while. He felt Kory take his head from his side. She could see right through him, that he was getting frustrated with all this. This was not the type of dinner they had come to, well expectation wise.
"That's unless you steal them," Dick mumbled under his breathe to Kory. He could feel her move their hands to the ride of his leg.
He gave her a slight squeeze as to signal to her, he really wasn't in that state of mind like he was playing out. Any other time and him might have run off with her somewhere. But this was just....well almost left no words to him.
Selina had really stepped up to the challenge. Now on Bruce's lap and bringing the starts to the conversation that had been discussed between all of them.
Dick really did not want to be there for what Bruce would do or say next. As much as he like Selina. Bruce was just being weird for a Wayne image.
As no one was paying attention, Dick placed his other hand on his wrist near his watch. And when he got the chance hit a button on the watch, sending out a signal. It wasn't much longer that his phone started to go off in his pocket. The ring alarm was loud enough for all near to know he had a call.
"If you'll excuse me, I've been expecting a call from the Bludhaven PD," Dick said as he freed his hand from Kory's and stood up.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket as he started to escape the table and everything. He set the alarm himself for his phone to get out of the situation for a moment. Dick knew Bruce was up to something else. But just what that was...if it was to drive Dick off from the others, it was working.
Walking out of the dinning hall, he walked down along the corridor a bit further. He'd kept the act up for a bit that he had a call. But he just needed some space. This was just a bit creepy for him. And if it continued...he'd need months of therapy.

Bruce caught the look Selina gave to Dick before she turned to him. Granted, he’d just thrown out a wicked curve ball, but to see her looking to anyone for – what exactly had the look been for? Assurance? Guidance? Even sympathy would be unusual, so there had to be some other reason. She didn’t give him long to ponder it, though. He enjoyed the purr in her voice, but it wasn’t exactly a Selina trait. That her touch was distracting meant that he didn’t have to act the part, but he didn’t allow himself to be fully taken in by it. The wolfishness of his grin increased and she described Kory, and there wasn’t any disagreement in him. She was delectable, which was potentially part of the problem. How much influence did she really have over Dick? What were her real motivations? Finding that out had been the reason he had arranged the date, though events thus far had proven far graver than he had though.
He welcomed Selina into his lap, his hands going around her waist. The grace and ease of her movement were almost preternatural. Obviously, it wasn’t outside Selina’s capability to make them, but it was very feline, as though she were sending a message. To himself, possibly, though it had to have a wider meaning. She wouldn’t have chosen this venue for that kind of communication without a reason. He enjoyed the kiss almost as much as the feel of her against his body, pressed close by the table at her back. The whisper afterwards could have been a double entendre, and the meaningful gaze and close contact would have confirmed a sexual meaning if not for the other, obvious meaning that her actions had led to.
She knew.
About him, and that he knew about her. Why, though, would she reveal that in front of Dick, unless . . .
The lust in his eyes had gone to suspicion, and as Kory spoke, the suspicion faded. His face became a mask as surely if he’d donned the cowl. Only Selina could see him, at the moment, and he had little to hide from her. Maybe much less than he thought. Kory’s words were an enigma to Bruce. Of course she wouldn’t be eaten. Certainly not like a piece of meat, but perhaps she was alluding more to a cheesecake reference. He had such a hard time understanding her, and that made him nervous. He had no idea what her true intentions were for anything, especially Dick.
Putting the face of Bruce back on, he allowed a sigh. His eyes didn’t leave Selina’s, but he obviously spoke to Kory.
“If you were going to be eaten, it would be metaphorical. Not like a ‘poor piece of meat.’ And what exactly is it that I am supposed to know about your home world? That would seem to be a precursor for being able to insult it. And, of course you are allowed to stay, expected to stay, if I can say so without offending your sensibilities. My invitation for a pre-diner tryst was meant exclusively for Selina, and she had the good sense to decline it, and the grace to both sooth and heighten my libidinous nature, wonderful seductress that she is.”
He returned Selina's kiss, and while he knew he was treating her as something of a trophy, he thought she had the sense that there was a game afoot, and it was not going entirely poorly. While he didn’t fully understand Kory, her reactions would likely have been different had she been either trying to lead Dick or to be his perfect companion. It was a break in the two seeming to be joined at the hip that he found some measure of comfort it. Of course, he wanted Dick to be happy, but he couldn’t risk him being taken advantage of or used by an unknown agent. Certainly not one with Kory’s ability to seemingly mesmerize him.
Dick’s words were more familiar to him, and within his expectations. That he was offended was clear and expected. That he didn’t launch Kory's defense was unexpected and welcome.
His hand moved southward on Selina’s body, though the table covered the movement. “My statement was that having a foursome, here, now, would not have diminished my ardor for Ms. Kyle. But, perhaps, the statement was over-played.”
The sound of Dick’s phone ringing and his explanation for it were too obvious. While Bruce had allowed Dick to be blocked by Selina’s position, he didn’t have to see him to suspect that the interruption had been fabricated. In Dick’s position, he might have done the same. On the whole, though, Dick removing himself from the room made things easier for Bruce. He relieved him from finding a reason to do so.
With a deft motion, he backed the chair away from the table, lifting Selina in the process and moving to set her on her feet beside him. A quick kiss for an apology, he offered a brief explanation before going after Dick.
“I do believe my boy is getting himself in trouble. Excuse me.”
He broke into a near run to follow Dick out of the room, timing himself to catch him after then had a door between themselves and the ladies, and making sure it had been closed.
“What the hell is going on?” he asked Dick, dropping all pretense of being Bruce Wayne. “Selina knows! Kory knows! You had better know what I’m talking about, any why the mission is being so widely compromised! If you want out, just say so, but you can stop making my decisions for me any time now!”

Her head spun. It was all over in those brief seconds; her heart pounding, something inside her screaming to run. But she couldn't. Not now. That would give away ever shred of dignity she had, in a single action. So instead her eyes remained fixed on Bruce-cum-Batman's face, her eyes widening nearly imperceptibly as she saw the change. The shift. From playboy, to crimefighter...to...the man between. A man that realized how he'd misplayed a hand, and was not deftly fixing that. She could barely enjoy the follow-up kiss as he stood, her movement from his solid lap, to standing on her own two feet as he excused himself leaving her breathless; a hand left clinging to the chair he'd vacated.
As she struggled to recall everthing that had occurred in those few moments between his improper proposal, to Kory's endearingly mangled perceptions...to Dick's 'emergent phone call...' it made her mind swim. Along with the pieces...falling into place. He knew. He knew she knew who he was. But did he know she knew he knew? Green eyes flicked to the men leaving, Father, son. In more ways than one, and those ways...were divergent. Dick hadn't said anything to Bruce after the motorcycle incident, had he? He couldn't have.
But. ..how? Blinking, she looked pale for a moment as she racked her brain. Not the rooftops. Not Edward. Not Nina...not...wait. It had to be China. That night she'd been out, and had somehow gone from being at dinner..to being in bed. Yet she'd showered. How?
Him. It had to be. And he'd kept everything quiet. Snapping back to reality, Selina plastered a smile on her lips, and grabbed her glass of wine, and the bottle, striding confidently over to where Kory was. Clearing her throat, she offered the bottle to the model, re-filling her own glass. "We might as well enjoy this wine, while the other two...talk business, " She added jovially. Might as well set things straight with Kory. Considering she'd dropped enough hints, why not. "And yes, it's a catsuit. A fantastic observation on your part, Kory." Selina mused, her eyes mischievous. "I do love the color you have in your own outfit. You'll have to tell me where you found that color." Not to say Selina was lacking in curves, it was just the other woman was more in an exotic flavor.
"I'm surprised that Bruce hadn't put two and two together...before now...." She murmured over her wineglass. Hell, it'd be a pity to let it go to waste, especially since Bruce was drinking...something else. The taste of his lips...had no trace of what she had been imbibing. Which meant....he never drank, and was a fine actor, a few more pieces clicking into place throughout the years. Her and Kory could have fun. She'd talk to the boys in a bit. Bruce, and Dick had to be set straight tonight, before any of them left the manor.

Humans! They're many twisted ways. Not saying what they meant, feeling. Watching this act, it was astounding how little with care or a lot with care given which direction it was aimed. It defiantly didn't leave the tamaranean princess with a lot of comfort. Simply from seeing, knowing of such things from worlds above, so many things didn't shock her… It was defiantly the suggestion of part taking in. Even the such display without much consideration. Especially upon Bruce's apparent 'son'. This was not the family dinner, Dick had described and nor was it like the family dinner Kory had first come here for. The fact this was playing upon, to possibly cause uncomforted feelings. Right now she could feel the shock washing over Dick. He was the reason Kory was here and assured him he should come. Kory didn't regret anything, but this… Not that Dick would seriously ever hold anything over her head in anything less than a playful manor. Feeling her eyes fall every now and then. Though didn't allow her head to fall even smiled at Dick's words. Looking to him knowing and nodded. It wasn't like it was a lie. They could differ later in which activity he most preferred, not that Kory was spiteful. Kory simply loved that he did care so much and to be honest, she wouldn't want to see him hanging up Nightwing, anymore than he did. Maybe recycle the suit every once and awhile. Kory had not complaints with that.
Then Dick complimented her. Some colour came to her cheeks. Knowing it was probably some restraint in him not wanting to hit something. As Kory held his hand, felt the heat and tension at his knuckles. Enough to hopefully give something soothing. Kory couldn't allow someone to shatter his heart, whilst she sat there, of course with such a big heart. It was nearly impossible. Her eyes taken a back as Bruce spoke… Though looking, he was very much goal sighted. Really with the convincing words, maybe this was what Donna meant by 'men'… Kory settled a little more on her feelings of being eaten, but it was clear, Bruce wasn't as in tune as to how her emotions worked. He was a little one sighted at the present. Which was fine. He clearly loved Selina, but in keeping suggesting, like they'd come at the bad time… Perhaps Bruce should have just did and the one on one dinner, as he kept suggesting where his mind was currently at. Not in having a conversation with his adopted son or partner. Though the invite was at least trying, least Kory had thought.
"Making assumption when one doesn't know, can be inconsiderate. Just as with you're 'Man cave', I know that it means something too you… I understand and accept it wasn't intentional!… Though I assume having little consideration for your 'adopted son' is also unintentional?"
Kory didn't reply with much heat in her voice, simply trying to express it wasn't so much the insult, because she knew the reasons in why Bruce had said it. Had little about what he was saying than, he was trying to cover the tracks. Play off like he didn't know. It was the assuming with little thought. He had to know for real that Tamaran meant something to the tamaranean, not that she was asking him to care. Humans were gonna say what they were gonna say. Though in suggesting his Bat Cave, all she needed to know was what it meant to him. Not that Kory was suggesting she had any assumptions. Offering a sincere smile. The fact it meant something to him, mattered to her. Maybe that was comparing apples to bananas. Water under the bridge as she could understand it wasn't out of ill intent and already forgave him. In her last words, was less of a questions. More than a suggestive thought. As her own attention drew back to what brought her here in the first place. Bruce was all busy trying to unravel her, whilst all Kory wanted was to love Dick Grayson and hopefully have him lover her back. Sometimes things were much simpler than one expected. Kory's intentions were pure. Don't let the burn mask fool ya. As her thumb rubbed Dick's hand firmly. Security. Kory expressed an almost silent laugh or joy. As Dick mentioned stealing his gloves. Stealing being a loose word. Her lips smiled. He was doing his own kind of settling the fire.
Hand in hand. On leg. Felt Dick squeeze. Her eyes looked down, before to his. Almost shaking his head… Kory shook hers and squeezed his hand back. He was assuming wrong. She hadn't placed their hands on his leg for any purpose, than she was simply displaying support and to comfort her own self. Knowing that he was there. Nothing could ever be too challenging if they were together. They had fought monsters. Battled though outer space and simply taken care of the down streets of New York. Of course Kory didn't wish to make him uncomfortable. Comfort had been where she was going. Though it didn't seem to help enough to calm him as Kory had hoped. Motioning for his watch… He wanted to leave, Kory would go with if it was really what he wanted. Tightening her hand. That was why she had brought up the cotton candy machine in the first place… Was that not a good enough excuse? Maybe to check on Roy would be best. That was until Dick spoke. Letting go of her hand, she was reluctant, but little choice. Dick stood… Excusing himself? She was concerned now. Totally not hearing he was expecting a call, looking to him with a frown. That wasn't something he'd forget to mention. The little cute frown, didn't last long. Standing up. A hand reached for him in tender affectionate ways. Knowing he was upset. Hurt. Confused. Angry. Maybe worse for all she could tell. He wanted space. Though it partially tore a pain in her heart, watching him pass through the door… Maybe she had gone about this the wrong way… Maybe he was right… With her little dilemma of whether to follow… She wanted too. Sooth him, but Bruce stood. Spoke. As Kory's concerned expression looked upon him. Hoping for less physical calamities. Though this would give them time if not for the conversation, a conversation. Dick didn't need her to protect to him. Hold his hand through all this. One point he needed to face this, she didn't like stating alone, because she was still very much right here. Always would support him. Hesitantly Kory returned to her seat. Eyes. Attention taken a back by Selina. Maybe it really was time for the boys to handle this, hopefully like men. Kory politely shook her head in regards to the wine. Though remarkably felt more calmer by Selina's company.
"Thank-you kindly, Selina, but I'll pass on the wine… Oh, yeah… About that, I didn't mean if I… Over stepped my welcome."
Politely turning down the wine, there a few factors why and offered a simple smile. Though did take a sip from her glass of water. Less likely to kill something or someone… As Selina brought up the cat suit. Kory took it as a sign the 4th wall had been broken. That Selina knew that Kory knew, but everybody knew who everybody was, that was how it had gotten Kory confused. What were things you could talk about and what to avoid? Kory was relieved least it was seemingly come clean between Selina and herself. In which, Kory took her sunglasses off happily. Putting them on the table. What shame could she have? Though Kory kindly expressed a form of an apology, if indeed she had said anything out of turn. It hadn't been out of ill intent, perhaps maybe whether she had meant to or not, but create conversation. She really didn't see why it needed to be a secret. Though it did seem like Selina wasn't upset, she was even complimenting Kory and which Kory couldn't help than smile. Fashion, it was often a girl thing.
"A cat suit isn't easy to pull off, forms to you like a glove. The whip really adds a splendid touch… Oh X'hal! Thank-you! You mean of course my Starfire attire? It comes from Tamaran. I believe for humans you'd say its the colour for royalty… Though for us, its more about the representation of love… As for this dress, it's Chanel. i don't get to dress up fancy as often as I like… You're dress is flawless…"
Talking more about positive things, was defiantly something Kory could get into and already more bubbles in her tone as she spoke. A cat suit like Selina's was considered a risk in the fashion world, unless you had the gifted body, not that Kory didn't see beauty in everyone, but one could admire such a thing. Plus from what Kory did know, this was a very unique to Catwoman and of course she couldn't forget the whip. As Kory smiled a little knowing and nodded. She certainly could know of how fun they could be… Whether it was aimed at her Starfire outfit or the one she was currently wearing, it was still very sweet and considerate for Selina to mention. Help take they're minds on something as silly as the boys were flustered over. Whether Selina was testing to see if Kory would spill, Kory was more than happy to drop the wall. Jump with both feet. Mentioning Starfire. Tamaran. She could go into more details, but it could confuse any human. On earth, purple was the colour royalty. It was fitting given she was princess and that was part of it, only that non-royals on Tamaran probably also wore purple… In galaxies above, purple also meant love. Like how Green could mean Will, thus the Green Lanterns. Not that Tamaraneans were a kin to the Star Sapphires, but there was maybe a similar reason why A star Sapphire also wore purple. Though potentially a different shade of purple, but defiantly similar. Tamaraneans as was Kory open with emotions. She wore them on her sleeves, like her heart in ways. They were a passion filled joyous race. Hopefully Kory expressed what Selina was wanting to know. As for finding the colour on Earth, Kory was sure it could be found. Before Commenting upon the dress she bore, cover both possibilities. Of course Kory said the label Chanel, a little more casually. When one was a model, it had its perks and people gave her cloths from time to time. Or chances Dick at different occasions he insisted upon less exposure. Making sure to compliment Selina's dress. As Kory picked at the bread on the tiny plate.
"Really? He didn't know? Out of everyone, even when Dick said… I thought that Bruce would have known… The crafty nature must be a Robin thing… I sure hope they come to some understanding though… Its just rather silly too me… So, how long have you've been dating Bruce? Dick failed to mention, but I think you both match… Quite wonderfully!"
As Selina had murmured, Kory had asked, agreeing she was also somewhat surprised. Batman always seemed to be the one that would know everything. Or least come across like he did. Kind of like a certain kryptonian. Dick had mentioned to say or not say things around Bruce, but was it that hard to see. More it was just silly that they were so dead on keeping something that didn't seem to need to be kept… Amusement in her voice, in her suggesting of the crafty nature of robins. Although like Dick couldn't out of the know at times, but he certainly liked sticking his nose in places. Of course with more sincerity. As Kory motioned a gaze too the closed door and what was possibly taking place behind it. Kory had hope it would work out. If they really had any respect or love for each other, they should see what is more important.. Shaking her head slightly at her comment… Space for now… As Kory gave a simple sigh, before returning her attention to Selina. Asking in relation to what Kory imagined was a relationship between Bruce and Selina. Something Dick hadn't exactly expressed. Kory had been excited to see Bruce on a date, expecting maybe they were the wingmen on the first date for support, but from the looks, they knew each other quite well. Not that Kory was simply recalling from the suggestions made in passing at the table, that may or may include illegal activities. All in all, Kory thought it was quite fitting. Love always was.

He had to escape the room. The walls had started to feel like they were enclosing him. Constricting him to everything translating between everyone and everything happening in the room. The acts, the lies, and the secrets.
Everyone wearing a mask in front of the other. Though to Kory, she wouldn't see it as Dick wearing a mask. But Bruce, there were three sides to him. The Bat, Bruce, and Bruce Wayne. He knew all the sides to that man. Raising in all the shadows to follow. Though, he had broken through and found away to make the two lives he lived into one without the third bystander like Bruce seemed to have. To him, he saw the three. But Bruce was Batman on the in between.
Even with his own actions, he had seen Bruce's expression to what was going on. He had figured something out. And with Kory supporting him and Selina showing her other side to Bruce, the look puzzled Dick. He knew of the trip to China Selina had taken with Batman....Bruce....who ever it had been. Everything was just overwhelming to him at that point.
This was the exact stuff he tried to keep himself out of. He knew it could come back to haunt him. Helping Catwoman out the way he did the night they got in the accident. But at the time, he had no other place to go. He couldn't have stopped her. Her injuries had been too much to keep her on knock out. And the work he needed to get done. The hospital had not been an option. And it was all during the time of living in Gotham as Nightwing. The beginning of his career. He hadn't been about to run back to Bruce for any help. Just like he still would not.
Everything was finally coming together. Everyone in one room. And now everything was out in the open. Kory had some what figured it out on her own after seeing the contacts on his phone and actually talking with Selina. When Selina had business she needed to take care of between her and Dick. It had been during that time that Nightwing would help Catwoman out on curtain occasions.
He had heard Bruce's explanation to the ladies as he continued down the hall. The foot fall approaching quickly. Bruce not far behind him now, he could heard a door shut behind them. Then all hell was about to break loss.
The harsh tone of his mentor ripped through the silence in the hall he had escaped to. Making a run for it was simple. He could just keep on walking away from everything. The burning eyes of his mentor, he could feel without really turning to face him. He had stopped dead in his tracks.
He kept his mouth shut as the words continued. Collecting his thoughts and words. There was no way out of this without the exchange on dangerous levels. Everything this evening had just blown up in his face over a quiet night together, trying to get along.
"I"m not compromising the mission. How the hell was I to know either one would say something? She knew nothing of you. She found out after the accident. What was I to do leave her to bleed to death on the street," the words came out, jumbled and in a rush.
Dick's fury was building as the words came out. Explaining parts of not knowing what Kory was thinking over assuming the cat was out of the bag between them all. And him not have ever telling Selina that Bruce was Batman. Then there was the accident....
He had just given up the beginning of it all. It was that night that Selina had found out who he was. And he had found out about her. Either crossed the line as to say who Batman was. His lips had been sealed on that subject.
Dick had turned sharply to face Bruce. He was already burning up over being driven out of the room. He knew something had been up. Once again falling into that same old line of the student and the mentor. But he was no longer the young willing student he had been. It was the headstrong young man that stood before Bruce now. Not the little boy who had first enlisted into the war of the night all those years ago.
"I don't want out. I never showed any sign of it. And as far as I see it, you still are making the decisions. If this has anything to do with Kory knowing who I am as well...That's been going on for some time know even before I found out who Barbara was," Dick snapped back.
Dick played the card of hiding who his ex-girlfriend's identity had been. Bruce had never told him until he figured it out on his own. Sometime before he had left and went off on his own. He brought up the example of the similar situation Dick and Bruce had gotten into before. Now, the shoe was on the other foot.
And Kory knowing who he was....that was back from the times of the Titans. His first relationship with the alien. And she had come to figure out more of his life. Teaching him to open up a little. The exact thing that Bruce probably saw as the underlying problem when Dick had started getting his own ideas and opinions on their different ways of working.
"Do you think I would have told Selina so willingly who you are? You really don't know me, do you," Dick said. His words sharp as daggers. Trying to strike a nerve. He was already furious inside over Bruce thinking, if he was, that he would dare say a word over an identity that wasn't his to tell. Dick's identity was his to tell, but to betray someone was not something he practiced.

Bruce stopped several feet from Dick. He never had a doubt about who would win in a contest between them, but Dick was faster, and letting him in closer would have given away an advantage. Not that he had expected Dick to attack, but he had been provoking him, and he didn’t know how deeply Dick’s feelings ran for Kory. He rolled his eyes when Dick brought Barbara into it.
“Barbara is one of us. She has been from the beginning. And what if I would have told you her identity? It wouldn’t have helped, and if you had wanted to know, you would have found out. It’s that simple, and that’s not the point,” he growled. “Interesting, though, that you would bring Barbara up. What, exactly, does she have to do with any of this, or have you told Kory about her as well? What else does she know that I need to worry about?”
He paced around Dick, waiting for a move, but not initiating one himself.
“You knew that Catwoman knew my identity and you didn’t see fit to warn me.”
His voice game out as a whisper in gravel, barely being heard in the room. “You like Kory. Hell, you might love her. Not my business. What is my business, though, is how that affects your ability to see things objectively.”
He snarled, the frustration getting to him. “Dammit, Dick! She’s been a puppet all her life! A warrior princess destined to be married to seal an alliance. A sacrifice to save a world. A slave. An experiment. Can she overcome all of that? I don’t know, and that’s the problem. You trust her, obviously. You trust her enough for her to know who I am without ever talking to me about it.
“You say you don’t want out? Pay attention to what you’re doing, what secrets you’re keeping, and from whom. You say I’m making the decisions? You, the person I should be able to trust the most in the world, are keeping secrets from me, secrets about who knows what I am. Secrets that could tear me apart. Secrets that could destroy what I thought we were working to achieve.
“And what the hell do you mean you didn’t think they would say anything? It shouldn’t’ve mattered. I should have already known. Grow up. Think. You’re better than this. I trained you to be better than this.” [/color]

Selina was already half into her glass of wine when Kory responded. In kind, Selina raised a brow. Refraining from drinking? Curious. "Is that a Tamaranian thing..to not drink?" She asked gently, not wanting to assume anything. Kory had a certain articulate way of explaining things, so Selina tried to keep her question non-complex for the time. "And no, no worries...you haven't overstepped your welcome. If anything, your ..well, everything is a breath of fresh air. Especially for Dick." Smiling, she set her glass down, swiveling in her chair to face Kory. "And of course I mean your Starfire costume! It's a gorgeous color in general, and you know how fond of purple I am." Smiling brightly, Selina continued, "I can see where the royalty color comes from. Either way, you really do wear it well. It fits you, and Chanel..is a good choice to wear for a dinner like this." It was odd to be around a woman who was so..honest, and self-less in her words. And she wasn't seeking for anything, much like the harpies that she ran into at the galas and banquets. Running her hands down the fabric, she did have to agree with Kory. It was a nice fit, and a nice dress to boot. Older, but not a gift for being a model. She tended to purchase most of her dresses.
"You're too kind, Kory. I'm not a model..but I do know a good dress, and designer. We should go shopping sometime. That could be fun, instead of this." She gestured to the room where the boys had left too, hearing nothing save for a few murmured, heated voices. Kory's next words snapped her back to the tall woman in front of her. "I...no. We hadn't know who the other was, until....I don't know exactly when. But Bruce's little stunt just a few minutes ago...he's not normally like that. Even when he's at the black tie events and being a cad...he isn't. But when he looked at me...there was a change...and I know he knows who I am. And...I think it happened on a bit of an excursion we were both on...both in masks..as Batman and Catwoman. I...." She blushed profusely at her next admission. "I had a bit too much to drink with a friend. I got back to the ..place we were staying...had a shower...and been put back in bed...but I don't remember much post getting out of the cab...." That had to be the place where Bruce had figured out who she was...quite literally.
"I guess I found out...when I was out prowling one night. I saw Batman. And saw him...where his parents were murdered. I put two and two together...even thought I'm not a great detective like himself....and was shocked. I just....it didn't make sense.....Gotham's playboy, and ..this man, no, this ...being..that I've known, and, as you know, flirted with for years behind masks....not until.....now, did either of us...say a damn word. And yes." She added, reaching for her wine. "Dick knew who I was before Bruce did. It...wasn't supposed to happen like that...but..it did. Long story short....motorcycle went down, I was beat up....your paramour has a heart, and helped me get fixed up, ....and then later, I was jumped...so I never had to explain the injuries in the first place. Bruce..did see me in the hospital. That was sweet of him. And then...you found out, when I called his phone, and I heard you at the end, instead of him!" She had to chuckle at that. It had been...odd, too. A woman answering his cell phone, instead of a more masculine voice. A joking one, at that.
A long sip of her wine helped her compose her next answer. "I would have thought he'd put things together, too. But Bruce, and I...both are good at what we do. And we have to, considering...well, what we do. If it had been easy, more than just him and I, and you two..would have figured out who we were, as well. But..as for the dating, we haven't ..well...it ...I don't know. We're not exacting 'dating' per se in the ...regular way. But the actions we've had...seem like it." She glanced down into her hands. What was she trying to say? That they had always sought eachother out at the different events they'd been at? That she always had a dance partner with him, no matter who their other dates had been? That even while they were bidding on items...they had always exchanged a glance or two, driving the bids higher, or mocking someone speaking? While they may not be dating in ...the regular sense, they had something even if neither was willing to admit it. And now that they knew who eachother was, they had to decide what to do.
"I hope something works out. But you know Bruce. And Batman. He's a crime-fighter. And technically, I'm a criminal." Shrugging that harsh reality off, Selina brought up a new topic, one that was not as heart-wrenching for her at the moment. It was surprising she'd not up and left, considering her imagination, and the fighting between the men. So instead she focused on their outfits, and a possible shopping trip between the two. "If they ever stop their little chitchattin, I think we should do this again, Kory. Possibly a bit of shopping, and an actual date. Maybe lunch, and shopping for all of us. The men could go golfing..or even just carry our bags...." She giggled slightly from the thought. Or the wine. Or both.

The tamaranean princess and the boy wonder. Two that had been destined to follow in their families footsteps in a manner of speaking. Koriand'r heir to her father's throne and had one point wanted to become the best queen Tamaran had ever seen. Dick Grayson who of course needn't much retelling was part of the spectacular 'Flying Graysons', an acrobat. In all much of a moment, both had been torn. As the story went, Dick's parents had been literally torn away from him, taken. Kory was herself torn away and thrown into the world of servitude. Both lives had been changed, flipped over. There were many more factors in the connection shared, it ran much deeper than, merely heated attraction and even love. It had always been much more than that, possibly defined explanation. It was some form of understanding. Acceptance. With being very much in the universe that may not offer much acceptance. They were probably expected not to exceed. Alien. Human. It was not just here on earth. It had been much the view on Tamaran, had they're own dislike in what was between the couple. Yet, they were still proof that, you could find that bridge. No matter how different you are, they did. Maybe in their own way, found a common ground. Friendship could spring in the most unlikely places and in the most unlikely people. Much could be said the same about the titans. They were the freaks that made a family, in the world that wouldn't so easily accept them.
"No… It was quite acceptable… A friend, mostly. For support and I've seen what it can do… Of course, Roy likes to joke it is for other reasons… I had a bad experience once."
Kindly Kory shook her head, tamaraneans could drink just as heavily, although it was always more joyous occasions. Just alluding to the fact a friend, Roy. Whether Selina knew of him, Kory couldn't really be sure, but Kory expressed it was to help a friend who had struggled with it. Least that was one of the reasons, Kory didn't have a desire for it, so it wasn't difficult to say no to… Smiling of course with a joyous expression that Roy often joked about other reasons… Of course Kory had an experience with human alcohol in which she was poisoned to an extent, not that she wasn't afraid, just seemed not worth the risk. Giggling a little as Kory whispered lowly in regarding what Roy joked… He after all had a questionable humour. Especially when there were times lack of protective gear, Kory couldn't completely know, but quite sure… Sipping on her water. Listening to Selina, was quite easy. She hadn't known much to expect, from what Dick told her, she was quite lovely and that was proving to be very much true. Considerate. Kory was pleased she hadn't stepped on any toes. She really hadn't wanted to create mayhem… Maybe conversation, she could be at fault in maybe not going the right way about it… She blushed sweetly at Selina's kind words, her eyes even dropped for a moment when Dick was mentioned… He was very much the reason she was here, she just was in luck of possibly finding a friend in the process. As much as Kory held on to Dick and she could be guilty at that, she really did love him. He could attest to the hard ships in their relationships and he could be distant. It could be painful not really knowing how much he did feel. But in all her own concerns and worry. In any sadness he may cause, just thinking about him, made her smile. More often than not and that was the emotion she wanted to hold on too. Made any little or big thing, just not matter as much. She knew it was real.
"Gratitudes, thats really sweet… I like to hope I am! He really is my best friend!"
That was quite in fact some of the kindest and endearing words, Kory had heard. Could feel the honesty. Kory favoured honesty to her core. She could be seen as simply a girl in a skimpy clothes, spoke her mind and half questionable if she even had one. Really she was a girl that was open, honest and didn't judge. The few that took a few more than a glance, would come see Kory's true warmth. Her heart. Even so much Kory reached a gentle hand upon Selina's, thanking for her uplifting words. Honestly expressing she hoped, she was helpful or at least comforting. Even so much as allowed one to see more within themselves. No one was perfect, but everyone had the right to be who they were. That was the beauty in which Kory lived. Saw. Just simply with a sincere look, Dick was her best friend. She had of course a lot of friends, but that was something more. Simply expressing, she would always be there for him, even as a friend. It was rare to find something so trusting, but it was real.
"Thank-you! Purple is my favourite colour as well… My mother's had something similar with a skirt! It'd make doing what we do a little difficult… The less state is also tamaranean, much to the belief of humans, males wore just as less… In fact clothes weren't much of a factor until I came to earth… I find it quite silly in ways, but I see the joy in it. Just like when Dick came to Tamaran, there were laws."
Kindly Kory smiled. Unlike most of the heroes. Starfire's attire wasn't exactly a costume. Though she had of course in a way come to use it as such, but Starfire really was very much Koriand'r. Not the Kory Anders wasn't her either. She had a somewhat of a secret identity, but still very much her. Delighted to share a common like in the colour purple. Surely they're be ladies and not fight over the purple clothes whilst shopping… Oh who was Kory kidding, she liked competition, in of the course the fun side of things. With hopefully the ending both were happy of course. As attested to the many duels she had with Donna, but always resulted in hugs… Kory wasn't one much to live in her past, she liked to live in the moment. The present, but her kind could appreciate. Respect the past. as Kory delighted Selina a little in the similar outfit her mother had worn, not that tamaraneans didn't wear other things on occasion, it just wasn't something that they really valued least not over many more important things… Kory expressed her mother had something similar, but with a skirt, quite lengthy. Split, which may seem unpractical to a human, but actually would make walking easier, but as Kory softly joked that it would make it difficult in doing what she did. As a hero. Defiantly a risk of being tangled or someone stepping on it. Not that Kory went into battle thinking of what was on her body, but defiantly lack of, least made it so she really didn't have to… Not because of anything Selina had said, but offered her a little trivia that it was everyone… Even males. Which Kory could giggle a little, it was normal for her, but she could imagine if had a male tamaranean in nothing than purple briefs… How the women on earth would have reacted… It was silly to her, but Kory understand. Expressing a little to what Dick experienced when he went to Tamaran. He had questioned their laws, similar to how Kory had questioned when she had come to Earth. Maybe not the same question. Kory could laugh about it, but she thought Dick kind of understood it more. She could respect the laws here. Whether or not she agreed with them. Of course in recalling Dick on Tamaran, she was half in memory of the briefs, maybe she was a little more human.
"Shopping would be a blast, there are many things we could do for fun… I know… I'm concerned as well, but they need to have this conversation. Communicate. It will do neither of them any good, if they keep everything bottled up, especially if they want to move forward…"
With an agreeing smile, Kory was more than happy to go shopping with Selina, though offered there could be many other activities they could do together, Kory could deem as fun. Spas, theatre, park, skating, dancing, carnival, beach. Kory could lose count on her fingers and toes. For someone that seemed confused with this world, she was doing quite a lot in trying to see it all, its not like many humans couldn't be at fault in knowing about this world any more than Kory or seeing it. Not that there was any suggestion that Selina was one of them… Kory smiled and took note as Selina mentioned the situation behind the close the door. Even in whispers, the energy was felt back in the dining room. The look on Kory's face was also of concern, but she knew right now this was what they needed. In order to cross whatever bridges they had put between them. Even if they couldn't cross them all, they need to address and clear their chests. They were doing no good to each other and it would only affect those around them, even if they couldn't see it. They'd see the silver lining… Eventually!
Kory spent the next moments, just listening. Taking into count how much Selina was feeling… There was a lot between Bruce and Selina. She had felt it, but it was clearer now. Kory's eyes looked at the woman, she was feeling more like a friend now. A sister in need of comfort. Love was a hard hard emotion. No emotion really was easy, but it wasn't wrong in trying to understand them. They're there for a reason. They are who you are. As Kory reached for Selina's hand again, out of comfort. Allowing her all she needed to say. Get off her chest. To someone maybe objective. Sometimes hearing what you felt, helped just as much as trying to feel them. Kory hadn't really been faced with the masks in such a way. Up until Kory had come to earth, there was little she knew of masks or heroes. Yes, she first saw Dick as Robin, though not by name. She didn't see the costume, because she didn't know what one was… Whether Kory knew his name, she saw Dick Grayson. She knew. Even just that moment before she kissed him, but Kory could relate in the dangers of secrets. They were there for a reason. Donna and even Dick explained that, but they still were dangerous. Depending on the secret and from whom. She hadn't heard greatly, but Kory knew of the accident and that Dick had saved her. Kory smiled warmly when Selina mentioned Dick's heart. Giving her a knowing look, she knew and even so much gave Selina little squeezes of her hand, in the moments she could feel the woman's voice breaking. Trying unravel so much. Feel. She was quite the intelligent. She had that crafty way about her, in a way that Dick could. Or maybe like Bruce. Kory smiled sweetly upon hearing Bruce visiting in the hospital. A small memory, but it was they're memory… Kory breathed an amusing sigh in regarding the call.
"Yeah, sometimes in the times he doesn't need my help… I quite like just observing… Watching him do his thing… So I sometimes… Guard his phone… Least he likes to joke its highly important!"
Of course at the time she was still much involved with the Titans, so half could be to unwind a little, such was that case that night, but he didn't always need her help. Bludhaven was Nightwing's city and she didn't mind on occasion stepping back. Watching. Kory smiled as she told Selina. Simple little things. Laughing a little in saying she was guarding his phone, mostly listening to music, to go with the show. if Gar happened to pop on by, there probably be popcorn. From what Dick said, he thought it was amusing and very cute of Kory. No doubt. There probably be few others he'd trust his phone to, so Kory wouldn't take advantage of that… Not like she was calling up everyone she knows, explaining details… Well, maybe Donna before… But that was different…
"Maybe you could go on more dates! Now hopefully with everything out in the opening, that'll be easier. There's no harm in trying. I think with the human perspective you'd want to know, rather than not knowing what could have been. "
Not that Kory wanted to step to much into what was between Bruce and Selina, but she liked to think there was possible chance it would work out. They really looked like they liked each other… Possibly love. Kory smiled least from what she knew of love. She felt bad for humans, that they did fall in and out of love so easily. She knew what she felt for Dick, would always be there. Had been from the moment, he looked into her eyes and saw through even with little understanding… He listened and wanted to understand her. In turn she wanted to know more about the cute man, so she kissed him… Maybe as Kory suggested that if it was out in the open now, the secrets, that will be easier for them to go on dates. They don't have to worry about hiding themselves from each other. They can be themselves and best take in the moments together. Somehow Kory felt, they were putting too much pressure on something that should just be allowed to come. What harm was there in giving it a shot?
"Maybe question who is in this relationship… Bruce and Selina. OR Batman and Catwoman… From what I can sense, you love Bruce… Batman is a part of him, so thats a given. But you have to as humans would say, know where the business ends? Do you really want to take all that to bed with you both? We have so much more to give. One day he may leave Batman behind or he might become a fireman, who knows… Nightwing is just one part of Dick, he takes pride in, its his thing and it is important to him. I am very proud of him. I would support him anything. He could be a doctor. A Lawyer. Policeman. Spiderman. X'hal, he could be Richard the lion tamer and it wouldn't change the fact I see and love Dick Grayson… We don't always agree on everything and certainly there can be compromises… As a warrior I was trained to fight the last fight. To kill and I have… That is something Dick feels very strongly against as of course there is the laws, which I've come to accept, but its something I know Dick knows, that I have worked at… Not to say that it has always been so easy and thats something I'm going to have to deal with, if I'm to have a life with Dick especially on this planet… Not that I'm trying to suggest. Sometimes we do what we believe is right and of course in mistakes, there is justice to be met, but I like to think we're never too far gone. I know from what I can see, feel, you are a good person Selina. As much as I'd like to interject, this is between Bruce and you... You should talk to him. Tell him how you feel!"
Not that Kory was trying relent anything built up. Well, save a lot of wielding emotions. It was a given. Least Kory tried to offer something to Selina. Even just a view of even a tiny detail. Kory admired Dick as Nightwing. He was after all, very fitting. As Kory could blush, but half of that was the fact it was Dick Grayson underneath. Did wouldn't matter what mask he wore, nothing could his his heart. Love was hard. Beautiful, but it wasn't easy. Nor was relationship, but fighting for it, seemed the purpose. In every little flaw or even anything Dick and Kory disagreed. Kory liked those. It added more to the fire. Sometimes it was good to have your other half, be a little objective, be able to show you a different opinion. It wasn't like Dick and Kory couldn't fight. Certainly had them and there would be again. Sometimes maybe forgetting why, but it was good to get any heat out. So they can best embrace the next day together. But they did have their own thing. Starfire was hers. Just as Nightwing was his. Just as she would assume for Batman and Catwoman… There was this stigma, that in a relationship you give everything, that you lose your voice.. More how Kory saw it, you allowed your partner to embrace it. Be themselves. Detailing her own training and fact she had killed people. She still believed to kill if it meant saving a life, but she knew there were laws. Not that she didn't like the fact there was no law if one was to kill an alien, but it was something she was dealing with. Even wanted to. It was hard. Shaking off what you were trained from such a young age… Dick could probably relate, not the same training, but the training from the Batman. Hoped to express that she didn't see Selina as bad, in fact she felt she had quite a good heart… It wasn't spoke of so much, but Kory does have an infamous sister… Komand'r is very much a part of why Kory is the way that she is. Komand'r was born first, meant to be queen and like her family and Tamaran would betray Kory. It betrayed Komand'r, or least that was how Komand'r felt, when her heirship she expected, went to Koriand'r… Long story short, Komand'r in her hatred and revenge. Is what led Koriand'r in servitude and the similar betrayal… Koriand'r didn't want to be Komand'r… She could have very easily allowed the hate. Rage consume her heart for what was done on her, but Kory chose to learn from Komand'rs mistakes… There would always be a part of Kory, that loved her sister. Despite it all. Even the betrayal. Had Kory completely healed from all her past wounds, no entirely. Everyone has a way to survive. To push them deep and forget them, maybe Kory was a little in denial, but it was her past. It had been her torture chamber and she merely broke through for her freedom. No looking back now!
"I'd love to do more double dating. I really like to see these sides to Bruce, I feel I know so much from what Dick tells me, but so many more surprises… I like to think there is a side that likes the good things in life, he just need the right person to show him… Have you seen Dick golf? I'd like to see that duo! Bat-caddy! There is sometimes a spa at some golf clubs. We can do a little shopping. Nails. Get a massage. Though Dick might want to come… He enjoys those mud baths."
Defiantly approved to more double dating. Much to Dick's delight, but they could still find duo time together. Kory rambling on about Bruce. She didn't really dislike him, he just didn't like her or just couldn't understand her, so it freaked him out. She like to think of him somewhat fondly. For all his flaws. He wasn't the warmest person and yes, his stubbornness. Rubbed off on Dick at times, but there was a lot of good things he taught Dick… Least especially as Robin, she differed on the raising part, not that Bruce wasn't some father figure whether he said it, but didn't generally act like it. Though she was sure at times he did…. Kory was all keen on the shopping. Although Kory joked if they're going golfing, that probably be something to see. Suggesting at Dick's golfing skills. Or more him also in a golfing outfit. But his butt looked good in anything. She laughed imagining Bruce and Dick, particularly in a golf cart. Going up and down the bumpy golf hills.. Spas in toe as Kory recalled whether or not she'd been one or a friend had said as such, but she had certainly been to a spa before. Amusingly mentioning Dick wanting to come. She liked spa days with him, not always just as home. Not that he probably wanted that mentioned much, but Kory thought it was cute.

Dick's rage was building up. Though he held his tongue from lashing out faster than his mind was putting things together. Bruce was quick and to the point. Attack the main issues were Dick had tried to throw him off a bit with the facts from their past.
"If you had, maybe we wouldn't be in a situation like this all over again," Dick replied. "Barbara may be a part of all this, but Kory is as much as she has been in my line. She had a right to know certain bits of information. But never enough to put any of us in danger."
Clarifying that this was the exact same issue that had caused the fall out between them in the first place. Bruce had kept secrets from him and now Dick had done the same thing. Though Dick was coming from another angle with this being Selina involved. And Kory was now dragged in.
Dick glared at Bruce over bringing Kory more into the firing zone. And he stood up to say how she had been a part of his team when he was with the Titans. His team had a right to know some information, but Kory had been the closest besides Donna. The Titans had been another family to him. And he wasn't about to drag them into this seeing as Kory was connected to them.
Though Dick blatantly avoided the last few questions. There were certain things over the years that Kory and Dick had talked about. Things ranging from before Jason to the loss of that Robin. She had been by his side through that roller-coaster.
Dick had hardly gotten a chance to respond to Bruce over him knowing that Selina knew who Batman and Bruce were. When in truth, he hadn't known at all. Bruce was pacing him like a lion about to make a kill. His harsh words cutting in deeper, only driving Dick's anger.
"Kory being in my life has not affected my abilities. And I knew nothing of Selina knowing your identity," Dick replied. His voice staying even toned through his anger.
Bruce was pressing every issue at him. Pressing the facts of Kory's life. Turning his words against him over the questions he had answered.
Trust? What did the word trust between them really mean? Dick was starting to question that as the time had gone on. Dick had moved on. Started a life of his own. All the words that Bruce spoke off brought memories back to Dick. All the times through past arguments and spats between them.
And Bruce was striking every cord with ease. Knowing how to play to his strengths when attacking Dick on the offense. Leaving Dick in a harder term for the defense. Bruce could easily out weight everything they had been through against him. But Dick had lived with the Titans for some time and had seen things from a different perspective.
"Shit. We're going in circles again. This was the exact same problem regarding Barbara. That's why I brought her up. In fact, this time it's reverse. I know something you didn't and it aggravates you. Do you think I hadn't seen it the same way you are now? Keeping a secret from me."
"Barbara and I were as close as you and Selina may be. I trusted her as much as I trust Kory. And you didn't feel the need to tell me that at the time my girl-friend was putting her life on the line to follow through with the work we did. I know that was her choice. But don't you think I had as much of a right as you did to know her identity as you think you should have known about Selina?"
Dick snapped the argument right back to the beginning again. Attacking the same issue he saw this playing out. Maybe he had a one tracked mind, but Bruce hadn't seen how that had affected Dick. How it had pushed him again. Maybe Bruce had, but just never felt the need to come after him again. To stop Dick before he walked out on them to become his own man.
As soon as he got the chance to cut Bruce's circling off, Dick did so. Meeting him face to face now.
That was the difference between them. Kory had taught Dick another way of life. A way to express himself more than Bruce had taught him to stay in control of his emotions. It had been so foreign to him at first, but that was the reason Kory knew so much. She had gotten Dick to open up a bit about his life. Though he could still be withdrawn and defensive at times.
"Keep Kory out of this! She has nothing to do with this. How I work to my abilities is my doing. Those two knew nothing of the other knowing of their identities," Dick roared in his anger. A fist clenched to his side.
"I did grown up Bruce. I started thinking for myself. And trust...," Dick took a moment to almost look like he was going to laugh at the word. Then only to take a breath and continue in his fit. "You're tell me I was the one withholding such information. Did you ever stop to think how it really is? I trusted you. I listened, I learned, and I worked along side you for about half my life. All the while I trusted you and you were keeping secrets from me. Did you ever stop to think were I learned all this from?"
"If I would have known that Selina knew, I might have said something to you. With me knowing her identity first. It wasn't mine to go about telling you who she was. I was always told our identities were ours to give not to be told. I leaned that with Barbara's. I was sore. And hell, I might still be. But I understand why now, because it would come back to this!"
Dick was getting furious. His argument getting jumbled up at this point. His rage was taking him over. Attack Bruce as much as he could. At this point, both hands were balled into fists. His muscles twitching to act. It would only take that one key thing to send him over the edge if Bruce dared.

“Stop it!” Bruce countered. He took a deep breath and took his voice down to measured levels. There was no doubt that the tension was still there, and with a calm veneer in place, he was more dangerous now then when he was pacing.
“I didn’t tell you about Barbara, and I didn’t tell her about you. Neither was my secret to give away. I don’t have any regrets about that decision and I don’t know why you do.”
He shook his head and extended a hand, stopping short before he rested it on Dick’s shoulder.
“I understand that you need to live your own life, find your own way. I understand that you couldn’t be Robin forever. I saw you grow under my tutelage. And on your own, and with Barbara. I knew that you would one day have to move on. I may not have admitted it to myself, but I knew. I am proud of the man you’ve become, of the leader you are, and of the potential you have.”
He paused, letting that sink in. There was more to come, and there was no way Dick wouldn’t have expected it, but praise was rare, and Dick had earned it.
“There are things that worry me, too. I understand about the Titans. I understand why you shared your identity with them, but that doesn’t mean that I’m happy about it. Maybe I could have done something differently when you were younger so this wouldn’t be a problem now, but it’s too late for that. It’s done, and we move forward.
“Koriand’r is another issue. You trust her. I know that you believe in her and that should be enough for me in a fair world. I don’t live in a fair world. She’s extended a hand of friendship to me more than once. I haven’t accepted it because I don’t trust her. But, despite what you think, I do trust you, and I will give her a chance. You will make mistakes. You will make decisions that I wouldn’t. You have a family that I never will.
“I pushed you hard tonight. I did it on purpose. I had to know how you would react when you were pushed to your limit. You’re not me, and you won’t react the way I do. However, you didn’t disappoint.”
Bruce stopped, took his hand from Dick’s shoulder, and moved back. He was inscrutable again, at least to everyone but Dick. He wore the face and suit of Bruce Wayne, but he carried himself like Batman. He gave half-a-smile to Dick.
“I’m an asshole. I am very accomplished at it. I’ve worked a very long time to perfect it. You’re not, and you never will be. You might think I’ve been unfair; there is no fair. You’re upset; you want take a swing, to make the hurt go away. See if you’ve for what it takes to knock the old man down, but remember, I’m not nice, and there is no fair.”

When Kory put it that way, it did really give her something to think about. Who was in this relationship? As far as she could tell, Not Bruce and Selina. It was A Bat and Cat thing..yet there was...sadly, no strings attached. Nothing. And even now, as they were trying...Selina and Bruce came with a lot of eyes watching. As did Batman and Catwoman. A doomed sort of relationship from the start. But would Bruce ever just embrace his playboy, businessman side? Probably not. Just as Selina would never fully be able to give up her theft proclivities. It was more than who they were, it was what they did. And Selina and Bruce were more mask than the animal themes they sought to pursue.
"I just..that's such a good way to put it. And...I fully understand what you're saying..it's just..you both are younger. He's no Bruce, and well, you're a lot more open, and bubbly, and young, than I am. Some things in life are hard to change, no matter how drawn you are to them. Some things can't be overcome." She said quietly, looking into her hands.
Kory's words continued on as Selina's mind ran, the words finally causing her head to snap upward, her eyes locking onto the model's. "You're kidding me. I hadn't ever thought that about Dick...ever. Mud baths?" Her eyes glinted, a tender glimmer of sadness hidden as she thought of the near -father and son at a spa, enjoying being pampered as the two women would lavish in the attention. "I-" She started, hearing a crescendo of masculine voices from the other room as her eyes went to the door, then to Kory. "Do you think they're ok? I don't want this..date...whatever it's turning into..to be that bad. At least for Alfred's sake, considering how much time and effort he must have put into planning the meal from top to bottom..." She hoped the two hadn't come to blows. They still had quite a bit to come to an agreement on, before any of them left the grounds.

There was this rolling wave of confusion and now somewhat understanding… Least there was now, from what Kory could tell, was on Selina. That was putting what was possibly and could be between Bruce and Selina. If they were tamaraneans, it would be more simple… Kory wished she could really truly help, but there was only so much you could say, before at the end it wasn't your battle. It was theirs. Kory couldn't know it all. Selina did. Bruce probably did. Kory did know emotions. She knew love… She knew what it felt like and she could express it. Express what was in her heart. That was the manner of her openness. An openness, she very much saw… Even if Dick hadn't seen it, the very moment he caught her eye. Stopped in her tracks. Saw the very thing that drove deep in that boy into the man he is today. Even so simply as to think of fond memories… Even more simple as to think of his name. Brought the most sincere smile on her lips. Was there hardships certainly, emotions came over her in waves that were eternal… She felt bad that humans couldn't feel this way, not so easily. Dropping her gaze, it could be over whelming. Over bearing, but there was no price in this lifetime she would take to feel any less. To feel in the moment. The moments that had taken place tonight… Had been less than stealth. Like chains pulling and pushing… It was ineffable, the walls that had built, had to come down… It was only the beginning. Chaos would come before the settling, was it not the reason they were afraid to do it in the first place? Because it was too much to bare… Bare through it. Brace until you make it. X'hal knows, Koriand'r did it! Not that she would ever seek that recognition. Kory didn't seek just glory. She didn't want to rule… She had wanted freedom. Save lives and just maybe… Just maybe give someone else that chance… To be free. To live. Maybe she was capable of crossing that line… But was there really a line, when life was on the line? Least she accepted there was one on earth… Without Tamaran. With friends splitting, following they're own destinies.. Her home was here… Through those doors. It wasn't so much need, but it was some kind of peace.
"Don't give up hope… Whether it is because I'm young or I'm not as human as I'd like to be… You have these feelings, your just not expressing them, least not entirely I expect… From what I can assume, is the same with Bruce… You both aren't allowing them. Love will find a way, if you let it… But I don't want to step in places, I probably shouldn't… Though the only way you will know, is if you speak to Bruce… Maybe it is different than Dick and I, every romance should be… Its been roughly six years and I still feel as strongly for Dick as I did from the start. We spent day and night together for so many years… He's like the dictionary, you can remember so much and yet, always room for discovery… Ironically he was my dictionary… He is much the reason I'm speaking to you now! He probably on occasion regrets it… Oh, but that look he gave me… I'll never forget it."
Hope was probably a thing said often among their kind, but it did sing very true to her heart. What she was… Was the very definition of hope. Of overcoming. It wasn't like she didn't have wounds. Scars from her past, she did. She very much did, she was just strong enough to bury them… Sometimes she was stronger at times than others. There was moments even though she had let memories slip, the echoes of the emotions. The sounds of cries. Screams. It could be hard to ignore at times, but such torturing pain, was best left forgotten. Not that in someway she didn't take pride in the fact she was maybe stronger having gone through it… She just was very much in wanting to be Koriand'r. That was hard. Much of the little girl before was torn and left to pick up in ways, not fitting of a child. But she did. Maybe not to everyones liking, but it was her survival!… Kory had smiled. Selina was right. Being younger was probably a factor. She was open, but that was the difference. Kory was more human now than probably when she first arrived, but she still had the makings of a tamaranean. Her entity thrived from emotions. Whether she was feeling them precisely, that was probably harder to tell, but Kory knew when someone was feeling something and not expressing it. It was part the reason why so many humans fell in and out of love. Because they couldn't express what was in they're hearts. Not that Tamaran didn't have its own faults. There was bad there just as there was good, but none of which resulted in them hiding their emotions. Kory took Selina's hands with a caring manor. She didn't want to put words in her head. She didn't have too. If she felt inclined to do something else, as long as it was what she felt right, was merely really what Kory would hope. Emotions are there for a reason. No doubt, speaking to Bruce would help. Kory looked into Selina's eyes. Bottling things up would get them no where, even if it was to continue casual, least hopefully they'd know where they stand. Be assured… There were many variations of love, it just felt wrong to Kory to repress it… Each romance would differ. They were different people… Though Kory couldn't help, dwell a little on what was between Dick and herself. It was more than young love. It was simply love to her. Kory could feel every point in her body that felt the sensation of even thinking about him. Every inch, felt like fire bubbles. So many memories. Smiling a little as Kory not so whispered, but as if revealing if Selina didn't know how Kory came to speak english. In a way, he gave Kory her voice. Well mostly she took it, given she kissed him. Kory could smile. Laughed in regarding he probably regret it at times, no he was too sweet for that… Before simply diving a little. She wasn't one to live in the past, but Kory didn't mind recalling these good memories.. Especially just that moment, before she did kiss him. With the most pure simple joyful looks, Selina could see. In telling her. No one had looked at her in such a way… So deeply. Tangling connection. Gave a deep sigh. Now that was love. Her eyes moved back sweetly to Selina. Maybe show her that it can be found. You just have to keep looking. Kory had not expect to have found it, when she did. To fall from the skies and very much fall in love… Was the stuff of love tales. Only she was the much stronger princess.
"Oh, yes. He is only human, after all! Generally I treat him to spa moments at home, but special mud baths when on vacation! Though he probably rather I hadn't mentioned it!"
Kory truthfully nodded with a smile. Somehow these sides, surprised people, Kory liked his softer sides and probably half not many knowing probably aided to that. Mentioning he was only human was the truth and said a little, because she wasn't… No, it wasn't all from her damage. Kory thought amusingly. Often as Kory openly admitted to the spa days or moments at home… Massages generally. Though going to a spa, was generally on vacation or special trips… The mud baths were fun… There was the need to undress in such a thing, was probably why he came, so no one else saw her bare… Add bruce to the spa with Dick, would just be what they need. Kory thought amusingly. Defiantly would lack the interesting factor… Sipping her water before Selina's words had been cut… Attention averted back too the door. Even Kory could hear, the heavy voices… Dick's she knew from a heart beat. Putting her glass on the table. Nearly tipping it over, before slightly unsteady hands kept it up right.
"No, ! very much doubt it… But I believe they can be… The Food!… Well, maybe if you want to check on them… I'll go check on Alfred. See how the food is coming along… If Dick ask's I'm in the kitchen!"
Concerned, though one to allow some space. Least until it could get physical, but as Selina mentioned the food… Kory repeated it with a little more alarm in her voice. Not that she favoured communication over food, but not denying the efforts made. Especially having started to cook herself. Plus Alfred seemed the saner body in this house. Hesitantly, but maybe food in bellies could help.. Kory suggested if Selina did want to, Kory was not going to stop her. Least a little check if they had food at all on their minds. Whilst Kory stood in suggesting she check with Alfred. From what Kory sensed, Selina was concerned and this had mostly started because they knew her identity. She had the right to speak if she wanted to. Kory was dragged in, merely from slipping the tongue, whether she intended it, the secrets, least these ones needed to be out. They were hardly secrets anymore, they were becoming weapons… Thats of course if Selina wanted too check on them… She was by all means free to join Kory in the kitchen. Kory smiled as got to her feet to leave the dining table. Eventually meeting the kitchen… It smelt like the joyful aroma of food. Smiling to see Alfred… Looked to him curious in an amusing way. As the radio, least one could assume. Music faintly filled the background. With some warm conversations. Brought smiles very much to Kory's face. Food, was not near being cold. There could still be some simmering to do. When the beats of a familiar tune came. A song Dick would be familiar as her alarm, well it was at one point. Kory turned it up, just a fraction. Dancing a little. Even so trying to teach some moves to Alfred. Moving shoulder up a couple times, before shifting to the other, then at different beats to the music. Even possible Alfred showed a couple of moves… Maybe like Jagger. He was british after all!
