As soon as Nightwing hit the ground from the safety of the trees. He lost the cover he had once had. Now giving her the upper hand at the moment.
He hit the ground running. Knowing he was an open target for her to aim at. But he didn't stop for one second as he took run for the one set of light shelving with some plants on it in the open area. He was getting back up to the glassing to the one end of the greenhouse.
He'd have to find a way to drive her back if he could. Her vines range would be able to strike him where he was at this time. He'd have to watch his footing as he went.
And as he moved, he saw the glint of a sharp object headed his way. He knew what it was since he had seen the new weapons she had on her wrist. He wasn't going to take a chance and let that thing get him.
So, as he ran and it was zipping toward him, he dove into a tuck roll to get away from it. And as soon as he was up on his feet and crouched down, Nightwing took a leap from there to dive behind the shelving for safety. He had stopped Ivy reloading. He's have to find away to distract her some how and get her away from her target that night.

When he comes within range of Poison Ivy's vines, they immediately strike out at him, attempting to wrap any part of him they can reach. If they snag any part of him this could all be over very quickly. And they're very difficult to dodge, as their movements are an improvement on their ancestors - the vines in her greenhouse attacked mindlessly, whereas these have some actual intelligence in their movements.
Which is why she scowls when they fail to get him and her bolt misses - by the time she has a second one ready he's back under cover. Must be because there are only the two of them wrapped around her rather than an entire buildingful with no place to go out of their range. This is proving to be much more difficult than she'd like. On the other hand, he's not having much success in attacking her either.
Well, in the event of a draw, she still wins. After all, she already has the plant samples that she needs - she just needs to get away at this point. It would be nice to catch Nightwing again and see how much money she can get out of that, but she only cares so much about money so that would merely be a bonus. So when he disappears behind the shelving, she abruptly withdraws, heading back down the path through the greenhouse that leads to the entrance. Of course she suspects that he'll try to stop her, but unless he manages to step things up a lot then he won't be able to. And perhaps he'll make a mistake to her advantage if she makes him more desperate.

Nightwing was visual-lent enough to keep an eye on Ivy as he headed for cover for the time. He had a feeling she was just stalling him. Looking for her chance to break free of this. He was always going to be a thorn in her side if she was going to keep this up.
And she had taken the next chance to make the move and run. Nightiwng wasn't finished so easily. This annoyed him. This meant she had gotten what she had come for at this point and saw him as a waste of time.
Thinking quick as he saw her take off on her way, he jumped out from the shelving and started to chase her down. Getting back into the brush would help him and he would be able to move faster.
He came running after her, but not at full speed. As he knew the vines were with her. He threw more wingdings at her. This was merely a distraction and to get her to avoid them. He planned on it. He pulled out a throwing cable.
He started the spin it and quickly. As the wingdings made their way toward Ivy the weighted cable would, when thrown, wrap itself around anything it caught around at first. And this was his goal to tie her and stop her for a bit.
Even if he could manage to slow her up, he could find a way to stop her. He aimed for where he lower arm started against her body. It would help to wrap itself around her and her arms. He pulled out a smaller one and aimed for her feet. One was bound to snag her.

Hurrying back down the path, Poison Ivy tries to keep a careful eye on her surroundings as she suspects that Nightwing will try to ambush her from cover. Being where she can see him is such a bad idea, after all. And he doesn't disappoint, as she only makes it partway down the path when the wingdings start to appear. But she pays those no mind - her vines have already proved to be more than capable of handling them for her. If that's all he's going to do, then getting away won't be a problem.
But that's when she gets caught completely off guard by the cables. But the first one, aimed to pin her arms, gets knocked askew by one of her vines when it tries to stop the unexpected weapon. Instead of wrapping both her arms, it only gets the right one, the base of one of her vines, and goes over her left shoulder. She stops, looking at herself in surprise. Where on that ugly costume would he even keep something like this? Unfortunately, stopping to ponder that problem makes her legs an easy target and she suddenly finds herself falling when they're tied together.
"Damn it!" she says, just managing to catch herself with her free left arm, the only limb she now has full use of. Well, the only limb that she was born with, anyway - the close connection that she has with her vines make them nearly extra appendages, and one is still free and the other mostly so. She's not defeated yet!
Acting quickly, she starts trying to detangle the cable wrapped around her upper body with her free hand, even as she lifts her head to see if she can see where Nightwing is. It takes two arms to use her wrist crossbow, so perhaps he'll be bold enough to make an appearance now. Though if he's foolish enough to come close enough, she can still get him with her vines, and they're not the only weapon that she has left. On the other hand, it shouldn't take her too long to remove the stupid cables if he delays.

Nightwing moves swiftly as soon as she goes down. He knows how fast her vines move without her command. He'd already seen that. And he also knew an electric shock seemed to stun them long enough to buy him a couple of second.
As Nightwing closes in, he throws a few devices between him and where Ivy lay. The devices would send a chain reaction electric shock to each other and cause almost a fence like small field.
that way if the vines came over them it would shock them. Now if only he could get closer to Ivy, He was tempted to pull out a small dart gun of a type to try and knock her out if the chemicals worked against her.
It would be hard to tell, but it mind be the only way to bring her down. The dart gun was built into one of the gantlets on his left arm. He'd go for it as a resort to any of her next movements. And he could get her with it if she did manage to try and slip away.
For now, he was concerned over the movement of her vines and keeping watch of what the next move could be from her. The vines were the defense and he had hopefully found away to stall them.

Grunting with the effort, Poison Ivy rolls slightly and pushes herself into a seated position to make unwrapping the cable around her body even easier. But it takes her a moment to find the free end because she's keeping more of her attention on Nightwing. "Congratulations, you're actually managing to make this difficult," she gripes at him, and she scowls when she sees the devices he just threw. Not knowing what they do and not eager to find out, she warns her vines to avoid that area unless he actually comes close enough or tries to hit her with something as she continues to work at the cable preventing her from using her right arm.
And getting the cable off proves to be more tedious than actually difficult - time consuming but only delayed by the fact that she's keeping a close eye on Nightwing. Even now she suspects that he'd have a hard time figuring out anything that would harm her. If he gets too close he'll still have to contend with her vines, and even closer her pheromones become a problem. Yet her vines are also quite able to deflect most projectiles - the cables are simply an exception. She's not completely certain of their protection from bullets at this point, but that hardly matters while facing a vigilante who won't use them.
In fact, as the cable is quickly unwrapped and her right arm nearly freed, she gives him a smug and extremely confident smile. She's only moments away from being able to use her crossbow again, and with two hands available getting the cable off of her legs will take a lot less time than this first one. He may have stopped her for a few moments, but there's a huge difference between that and stopping her completely.

Nightwing stood and watched her. He saw her vines moving slightly, but then back off. She might have figured the devices were a set trap that might cause damage to her plants.
But he saw she had freed herself from some of the cable. And he knew his time was running out. Though he saw her smug look and knew the cross bow might come into play soon.
Thinking quickly Nightwing would do what he sometime did best. And that was often talk. Distract the target. Gain control of the situation. And now it was his turn to turn the tables with a possible threat. And he had just the thing.
"So tell me Dr. Isley...How do plants fair against the cold," he started in. She might not understand what he was getting at, at first. But he knew exactly how it might turn out in his favor.
He lowered his wrists, his arms along his side. His one hand discreetly tucked to press a small button on his gauntlet to release a small marble like devices into his hand. It was hidden to Ivy's view. So, this gave him the chance of surprise for a moment.
This small marble devices, were capsules that contained a freezing agent that would freeze anything it hit on contact. The same device used against Clayface. And Nightwing had a good idea the plants would not fair well against it.

Between her newness to being a criminal, her beauty, and oftentimes her gender, many people may assume that there's something lacking in Poison Ivy's intelligence, but that's absolutely not the case. The moment that Nightwing asks his question, she easily gets the hint that he has some sort of cold-based weapon. And though she doesn't say in words how she feels about that prospect, her actions speak louder than words - there's an angry scowl on her face as she pauses in her attempts to free herself as she concentrates on other things.
First, her vines start to withdraw, coiling behind her. Now they're using her for a shield, instead of vice versa. They may be incredibly tough plants, but she did have to make a few choices when she designed them, and as a result they're tropical and don't tolerate the cold well - had she tried to solve that problem it would have been fiendishly difficult to make them as capable as they are in other ways as well. She's more tolerant of the cold than they are, and beyond that she knows that these vigilantes have their stupid rule about killing anyone and that could help her if his weapon is too powerful.
Their new position doesn't put them entirely out of the picture - they can still shoot out from behind her quickly - but she is a lot more vulnerable this way. But to help mitigate that, as they begin to withdraw there's what amounts to a tiny explosion in her pocket. The brown cloud that starts to emit from it should tell him what happened - she had another one of those fruits and activated it mentally so that she wouldn't have to use her one free hand to pull it out. The toxic gas, which she herself is totally immune to, should help reinforce the fact that even with the retreat of her vines he shouldn't come near her.
And, satisfied that's the best she can do right now, the moment her attention can be turned back away from her plants she redoubles her efforts to free her other arm. Just a few more seconds and she'll have the cable undone...

Nightwing noticed her actions and right away pulled out the re-breather with his other hand. He knew this wasn't good. And he wasn't going to let her get away.
And at her little trick, he had given her a chance. He then threw the freezing devices in her direction. Aimed toward her feet, from the moment before the cloud hide her.
The freeze bombs would go off and freeze her legs to the ground. The ice building quickly but not enough to cause damage to her. But enough to keep her from going any where.
Nightwing had given a slight warning over this. Not out load, but enough to show that he had been serious as to keeping her there. He was going to do what it took to keep her there.

The toxic cloud coming from her pocket isn't very thick and doesn't last for long. It isn't meant to be a smokescreen, after all, it's meant to mix quickly with the air to make it toxic. It seems to fade into nothingness almost as quickly as it's emitted, though it still hangs over her, tainting the air around her even though it can't be seen.
When she sees him throw something in her direction she, mindful of his warning about the cold, suppresses the temptation to use her vines to knock them away and instead tries to dodge them. However, she's hardly agile enough or flexible enough to avoid them completely, especially tied up like this, but one hits her in the calf and then spreads its ice to her other leg, joining her legs together even more firmly than the cable already does. She cries out wordlessly at the cold and the pain, followed by several strained gasps as her body reacts to it.
She's still far more human that many might believe, but enough of her DNA is plant to give her a plant's reactions to the cold. She's much more sensitive to it than a human would be when it comes to what temperature is actually comfortable, but she's actually more able to survive extreme cold than an ordinary human would be. Rather than causing her so much harm, instead it encourages her body to become dormant - she gets tired and lethargic. Not so much that she can't fight it off when the desire to do so is strong, such as now, but it's an extra strain. She also doesn't shiver when she's cold.
Yet even as she's coping with this new obstacle, her desire to make him pay for this is only strengthened. And this is perhaps why she's able to keep her wits about her enough to get the rest of the cable off of her arms - if she's going to get out of this now, she'll be wanting both of them. And she immediately loads a bolt into her crossbow and fires it at the vigilante, neither pausing long enough to be extremely sure of her aim nor expecting it to actually hit given how he's managed to avoid the others, but trying to get back on the offensive as quickly as possible. If she doesn't keep him on his toes, his plan is apparently to cripple her bit by bit until she's unable to fight back.

Nightwing was focused on the sounds around him. His sight was slightly blinded by the gas she had used. He knew it was more to drive him away. In which, it had worked.
Nightwing needed to come up with something fast. After the last meeting with Ivy. He knew how mad you could make her. And he knew she would hold a grudge against him for this. But he needed to try and stop her. She had already gotten away with so much.
He could just barely see what she was doing to get loose. But he could hear the sound of something clicking. And by keeping on his toes, he was able to get down in time to avoid a shot from one of her arrows.
It was too close for calls, but he wasn't that blinded that he wouldn't pick up on it. Nightwing glared in her direction. He needed to end this fast. He then pulled out some knock out pellets and threw them in her direction. He wasn't sure what affect they would have on her. But he needed the chance to stop her before she sent something at him.

The bolt from her crossbow is answered by more thrown objects, and for a moment Poison Ivy can't help but wonder what he's inflicting on her this time. She hesitates to use her vines to knock them away after how disturbingly effective the ice proved to be, and he didn't helpfully warn her about what he'd throw this time.
But when the pellets instead release some sort of gas, she smiles to herself. She hasn't the slightest clue what the vapor is, but she can only suppose that it was meant to do something to her and given the extraordinarily slim chance it has of having any effect on her this can only work to her advantage. Though it further obscures the air, she answers the pellets by firing another bolt. She can't see him at this point since he's under cover and the air around her has gotten hazy, but she can still guess where he is based on where the plants around him can sense his breath. It's still a rather blind shot and it would be a miracle if she hit him, but she's hoping that it's close enough to make whatever he attempts next all the more difficult.
In the meantime, her focus is more on her legs. She could remove the cable with her hands if the ice wasn't in the way, and she suspects that she could break the ice with the strength of her legs if they weren't tied together. Having both at the same time makes both solutions impossible, however. But there's another option, though she doesn't like it at all. Still, she has to get away, and if she lies here trying to come up with something else, Nightwing just might figure out a more effective attack. "I'm sorry, baby," she murmurs quietly as she gives one of her vines the order.
Her vines are incredibly strong - much stronger than she is herself. Strong enough to break a man's neck without much effort, which she's actually done on a few occasions when poisoning someone just didn't fit her mood. She carefully guides the vine to wrap itself around the ice trapping her legs where the force is less likely to do her damage, hoping that the pressure will shatter the ice and allow her to remove the cable. However, the chill of the ice is enough to harm the vine as it does so. Something that Poison Ivy feels terrible about, especially since she chose the one already somewhat damaged before by the electrical shock for the task, but it's more important for her to have one fully unharmed vine to help with anything else she may need than it is to try and be fair to them by spreading around the damage.
As the vine squeezes the ice, Poison Ivy can't help but make a pained exclamation - while she tried to keep the pressure off of her legs, she could only do so much of that without risking failing to shatter the ice and if she's going to make her vine do this she's going to be sure that it works the first time.

Nightwing still kept his distance. Keeping the re-breather on just in case another attack from her was to go down.
From where he should he could see the look on her face. She was really fighting off the attacks he had made. Trying to get away. Of course she would. She wanted to escape.
He wasn't going to let her that easily. And so far he was proving his point. But the look on her face was more of pain.
He didn't realize his weapons would cause that much of an impact on her. The ice was affecting her worse because of her chemical biology. He could figure that one out.
Plants and the cold did not mix.
Nightwing stopped and looked at her. He was ready to attack again if need be. But he could just let her suffer like that. He could continue the attack to the point of putting her in the hospital, but that just wasn't always the way to go.
He'd give her the chance. "If you stop now and surrender I will free you from the ice," he said. "I know the cold if affecting you more severely than most. I am willing to put an end it if you want. It's your choice. We can continue on this way or we can settle this."
He wasn't going easy on it. He didn't trust her. And she wouldn't trust him. He was only giving her one option and if she refused he would take her down.

Even though she has to pay a large amount of attention to the vine squeezing the ice in order to ensure that it's being done correctly, Poison Ivy doesn't fail to keep some attention on what Nightwing is doing. She hopes that he's sufficiently distracted by what he's doing and what she's already sent his way to give her a moment, though she's prepared to do more if she has to.
But when he stops and looks at her that way instead, she's honestly a bit surprised. A little cry of pain and he thinks that she's defeated? Exactly how weak does he take her for?! It's because she's a woman, she's willing to bet. All men are idiots that way. But she has far more at stake here than the loss of her freedom. So many of her babies will die or at least come to severe harm if she can't get back to tend to them. With the samples that she's taken from here - if she doesn't improve her craft even further then she might as well give up now. But she won't give up - she can't! But that doesn't mean that she has to let him know that, or that she won't take full advantage of any misjudgments on his part that she can.
And his words helpfully tell her exactly what he's getting wrong about the situation. He thinks that the cold is what pains her? Well, she could see how someone might think that. To a tropical plant like her vines it can be absolutely lethal. But she's something else entirely. If you were to categorize her on the same scales as other flora, she would be considered to be a temperate evergreen - similar to a pine tree. She'd have to get pretty cold for it to cause her any harm, but it does make her very, very tired. Tired enough that it takes some effort for her to shake it off, but given what she's fighting for she won't let that stop her now. But the cold is not painful. What's painful is that the extreme pressure being applied to the ice around her legs by her vines is also being somewhat applied to her legs and that isn't exactly pleasant. But if the vigilante thinks her so weakened by cold then she'll use it.
Not slackening her efforts to break the ice herself, mere moments after his offer there's a cracking sound followed by the entire mass of it shattering. She can't hold back another cry of real pain at that moment, but though the sudden release of pressure ends the pain she forces her expression to not ease completely, as if there's still some hurt afflicting her legs in spite of the removal of the ice. She's always been a practically flawless actress - she'd blame growing up in high society where everyone is fake about everything every day of their entire lives. But the faked pain lingering in her expression appears to be every bit as genuine as it would be if it was real, as is the heavy breaths that would also indicate pain.
Of course, acting is always more effective if there's some truth to it, so even though the only thing encumbering her legs now is the cable she makes no move to remove it. Instead she leans forward a bit and lets her arms rest against her thighs as she allows the exhaustion she's genuinely feeling also take over her features. "I don't need help, I did it myself," she says quietly and tiredly, as if the effort of doing so and fighting against the pain has exhausted her. And she is exhausted - but though she puts on a good show of looking like she has no fight left in her that's far from the truth.
The only thing that's giving up the fight now is the vine that crushed the ice; it will live if she can tend to it at home, but it will probably never be the same again now. But she has others and can essentially retire it. And the other one is still fully intact, though she causes it to droop beside her as if it's just as ready to give up as she now appears to be.
"I don't want to fight anymore," she adds only a little more strongly a moment later, looking down at her hands, though she keeps Nightwing in her periphery. Now is the time that he might make a critical error. Especially if he, like practically everyone, expects her to act anything like a novice just because she's so newly a rogue. And though she was a bit cruel to him in the past, it was a form of self-defense and she did keep her word to cure him even though she easily could have killed him instead. Faking her defeat is definitely a new low for her, and therefore not something he might expect. No, someone like him actually believes in the goodness of people. Hah!

He saw that she had freed herself most of the way. But he was aware of her one vine looking rather sluggish after the act of breaking loss.
And by the way she was acting it was as if the plants took affect to her body as well. Like they were a part of her. There were still some element of her ways he was still figuring out.
She was so new to the crime world. And she kept so many secrets. And he was sure Batman himself had only learned a few of her tricks. Nightwing had with his few encounters with her. Her mind was the sharpest of her skills. She knew how to act, when to act, and what to do.
This made it more difficult to really understand just what she was planning. Her acting was so refined, it truly was difficult deciding if she was in need of help or not.
The plants lacking energy and the look in her eyes. Dick still did not trust this woman. But he couldn't every well leave her if he could end this. And he wasn't going to put someone in a hospital bed with major damage if he could avoid it.
Sure he had before. But it depended on the reason the person gave him for attacking. He had been pushed to the edge before, but someone or something always seemed to draw him back.
Dick didn't let his guard down this time around her. He's always be on his toes. Always have a back up plan. No time for errors. But still wading into the waters and taking a chance. He kept his distance.
He looked toward her and asked, "I know you have something that belongs to the Wayne gardens. How does it concern you?"
He spoke, hoping to throw a question at her to get a reaction as he moved in a bit closer. Still keeping his space. Caution with every step. He kept the re-breather on. Without it, her pheromones might get the better of him. And he remembered them. It was his main defense from truly believing her words.
