Victor was slightly confused about what Force meant. Though he wasn't a telepath.... As far as he knew....... Lupin had had some effect on him.... But no he couldn't have become a telepath. Don't you need special skills for that? He noticed that Lupin withdrew slightly at her comment though. He'd have to talk to him about this later.
He did understand what Force meant about telling the truth..... And about telling Superman what he knew......... He looked at the tall man and smiled. "I'm from down south." He said. "Texas." He added. "And also.........." He started to say. He paused and thought about the best way to say it....... "I know who you are. Without the cape." He said. Then before Superman could respond he said. "And the voice you heard knows who you are too." He added quickly.
Mentally he tried to continue talking to Force. 'How have you been?' He asked simply trying to be friendly. He could sense Lupin still sunking around in....... where ever it is Lupin sulked away in Victor's mind. 'Forgive Lupin.' He said. 'He doesn't always know how to react when confronted with something he doesn't know.' Then he metally chuckled. 'I'm all to familer with it.'

Superman smiled slightly at hearing where Victor was from. "Ah so your a country boy?" He commented then he looked at the crowd dispersing around them and straightened his back and looked at Victor. "Well I better get going. I don't want to overstay my welcome." He said then he started to fly away.
He stopped when he heard what Victor said next. He turned back around and landed in front of the man. "How do you know? And how do you know the voice?" He asked... He noticed that Victor was rather short. Or it could have simply been that Superman was tall. But he had the feeling that it was the former.

Phoebe frowns inwardly at the sudden silence of the wolf, and in spite of the fact that she's quite satisfied that Victor confessed to Superman it does little to improve her mood. And once that detail is taken care of, she sees no further reason to really talk to him. Sure she knows him, but only just - bumped into him twice and that's all. She knows that he seems like a nice guy, but even with her telepathy helping speed the process that hardly counts as knowing him well.
But though she's halfway to saying goodbye when he talks to her again, the question that he asks causes her to hesitate and then change her mind. There's a very long pause before she admits, Not good. Not good at all. Lots of bad stuff has happened to me since I last saw you. That was, let's see, about two months ago she thinks? She hasn't really been paying careful attention to the number of days that have passed - what does that matter when each one is the same as the last and they all blend together.
She's already walked quite a bit of distance away from where Victor is talking to Superman, but when she pauses and looks over her shoulder she can still see them in the distance. If she keeps going though they'll soon be out of sight completely. That thought causes her to hesitate for a moment, before she decides to stop where she is. She's enough out of the way now that nobody should pay her much mind. But though her power extends far enough that she doesn't need to see him in order to talk to him as long as she knows where he is, she'd rather not have him out of sight just yet.

Victor and Lupin both started to wonder what Force had meant by her response. 'What do you mean?' Victor mentally asked. 'If you need help I can help.' He offered. And despite feeling like his pride had been damaged Lupin mentally put his weight behind Victor's words.
Outwardly however Victor looked at Superman and smiled. "Yes I'm from the country." He said before turning to answer Superman's second and more pressing question.... But how? How could he answer without revealing who he was? After a few seconds of thought he figured that there really was no way. And after all Superman wasn't likely to berate him or anything. "I'm also a crimefighter. I have enhanced senses and your scent is rather telling." He said quietly not wanting everyone around him to hear him. "And I've met the voice before. I don't know who own's it though. Only that it calls itself 'Force' but I will say I think its a girl." He hoped that he wasn't crossing any lines that would offend Force.

"So your a crimefighter?" He asked. "Which one? I don't think I've heard of one that fits your description." Superman said. He felt somewhat strange about being found out... By he scent no less. "My scent?" He asked feeling somewhat amused. He had never been told that he could be found out by he smell before. He wasn't sure if he should feel worried about this.. Or if he should feel entertained.
When Victor mentioned the voice he raised an eyebrow. "Force?" He repeated. He wondered if this Force was still near. And how much this Force knew about him... And whether Force was still in his mind. Ah a she... Or at least possibly a she... That would help with his pronouns.

There's some hesitation before Phoebe responds to Victor, but she finally answers by saying, Well, I quit my job. Not very specific at all, but how can one sum up everything that she's been through lately? Leaving the FBI and everything she knew up until that point behind, living on the streets, finding out that Agent Tiff killed himself, being unable to figure out what to do about any of it, being unable to find anyone to trust... I need help, she admits, though she immediately adds, But I don't think that you can.
She goes silent while Victor responds to Superman. While she can read two minds at once, the more minds involved the more confusing it gets trying to keep straight who thought what. So she isn't currently listening to Superman's thoughts, though she can still hear the entire conversation since Victor is listening to and thinking about Superman's words in addition to his own. Which is why she's very quick to irritably add, You can't tell for sure that I'm a girl? To be fair, her mental voice is very close to her physical one, and she's still at the age where she simply sounds young since she's barely reached puberty. That doesn't mean that she isn't offended, though.

Victor felt a slight grin cross his face. 'It sounded like you were a girl.. But I didn't know if it was an act or something like that. I'm still not used to talking to people outside my head using my mind.' He replied to Force. He hoped that she didn't offend her. He was truly not used to a mental conversation with anyone other then Lupin. 'But if I can help I will." He insisted to Force mentally.
To Superman he said. "I call myself Wulfen." He said all this in a hushed tone. "I'm not that well known... Or at least I don't think I am.'
When he said that he couldn't help but mentally ask Force. 'Am I known?'

Superman looked at the man. "I can't think of anyone who goes by the name of Wulfen." Superman said. He looked at the man trying to picture him in a costume fighting crime. After seeing him fight the bomber he could see him fighting. But wearing a mask?
Then to help Victor keep his secret he loudly said. "I'll have to keep an eye out for this Wulfen guy." Then he turned to leave. "If he's anything like what you said then you shouldn't worry." He then lifted off the ground then started to leave the scene. Trying to decide to go back to Metropolis as Clark or as he is now. He decided to fly back to Metropolis as he is now.

I don't lie, Phoebe states flatly when Victor comments that she could be acting, still sounding somewhat offended in spite of his explanation. Given just how much she hates it when someone is at all false to her, she's hardly going to do that to someone else even if she's far more likely to get away with it. Of course, she also has a lot less to fear than the average person when it comes to telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth at all times anyway - anyone who can't take her honesty is not someone she'd prefer to hang out with, and if someone doesn't like what she says she can usually prevent them from giving her any negative consequences.
There's a very long pause when Victor again offers his help, but she finally replies, I didn't do anything wrong, but I need to hide from the police, the government, the heroes and vigilantes, and pretty much everyone else. And I don't have anywhere to go. That's actually probably overkill, given the large numbers of potentially helpful rather than harmful people that would include, but since being so wrong about Agent Tiff she's learned that you can't take people at face value. And that's a hard lesson for such a young girl - she doesn't know who to trust right now. Could she trust Victor? Perhaps...
She didn't realize that he was a vigilante until just a few moments ago - in telling Superman while she was reading his thoughts he also told her. But she's not particularly shocked by this - she already knows that Victor is a bit unusual due to the presence of Lupin. And he's not the first crimefighter in a costume that she's met. But though she's a bit wary of anyone in a costume, even if they're trying to do the right thing, the fact that Victor is newer to it is a good sign in her eyes. Yet after explaining what sort of help she needs, she pays extra careful attention to what he makes of her current problem. She doesn't trust easily, but her ability to read thoughts helps with that a lot since she simply can't be lied to - even when someone's intentions are good.
His question about how known he is as Wulfen gets a mental shrug from Phoebe as she answers with, I've heard people thinking about a 'Wulfen'. Only a few times though, so... slightly? Definitely not anywhere near as much as they think about Batman, especially among the type of people she sometimes runs into when she's out a bit late at night.
When she sees that Superman is apparently about to leave, Phoebe breathes an inward sigh of relief. She really doesn't know what to make of the guy, even though she's heard people think about him a lot. While she knows that he's supposed to be a really good guy, most of the people who were around the entire time she was growing up were still very worried about him since he was so powerful. And she couldn't count the number of times various people watching her practice using her powers wondered to themselves how she'd fare against him. She'd rather not even have that be in question: anyone who may be more powerful than she is could easily be a threat no matter which side they think that they're on.

Victor was now alone. Superman had left to go..... Well where ever it was that Superman went when he wasn't here. He assumed that it was Metropolis... Seeing what he had just learned about him. But Force's comment made him frown. 'Well I may be considered a vigilante... But I would be more then willing to help you.' He said. 'And I wasn't saying you were. I just didn't know how it worked.' He said.
When he heard what she said about Wulfen he mentally chuckled. 'Really? Huh.' He didn't expect to be known. Not because he was super stealthy or anything. But rather he as of yet hadn't done anything of any real importance. Sure he had stopped a few muggings and the like. But he hadn't fought any supercriminals. So he was pleasantly surprised to learn that he was known. Even if it was only a few.
But he quickly brought his thoughts back around to Force's problem. He got an idea but he thought it was funny. After all he had just confirmed that Force was a girl. But he had no clue what she looked like or even how old she was. He thought it was rather strange
'Go on it can't be to bad.' Lupin told him.
'Are you sure?' He asked the mental wolf.
'I'm positive. Besides your not asking her out on a date so its not like you'll be embarrassed or anything.' Lupin replied.
'Well Force.......... This is just a random suggestion but....... I have a place you could stay.' He offered.
He meant his apartment. He wasn't worried about her saying no. he was more worried about her saying yes... But only because he didn't know much about her... Aside from the sound of her mental voice. Which he assumed was the sound of her voice too.
'If you want to stay at my apartment I think you should know that its not much.' He offered. He felt rather silly about offering this to someone he had only met once... Normally he would know what this person looked like before he would even think about offering them this. But he didn't like knowing that she was out alone without a job or friends. At least that was the way it sounded. After all he didn't like to be alone... So he guessed that she didn't either.
He thought about what she must've been going through. He thought that he would have to try an help her in anyway he could. He remembered he had felt this way before as well. With a little girl he had met alongside Nightwing. He hoped that Force would accept his help in some way.
He noticed that the main feeling he had about her problem was a feeling of sorrow and a urge to help... He also felt the usual strange feeling he had hearing a strange voice in his head. But that was something he was starting to get used too. Lupin helped with that. He also found himself looking around to see if he could possibly find Force. That way he could offer his help in person. He felt that she would get a better feel for his thoughts on it if they were face to face. He didn't know she could simply read his mind and could tell what his thoughts on it were. 'If you don't trust me then I understand. After all I am what they consider a vigilante.' Then a thought crossed his mind. Why is she hiding from anyone who would possibly try and turn someone in to hte law? He didn't push the subject. After all his primary thought at the moment was 'I have to help her somehow'

While Phoebe can't probe past a person's surface thoughts, she can sense absolutely everything a person is thinking and that goes well beyond the thoughts that Victor is thinking at her intentionally. Her telepathy would be pretty useless if that were the case, given that people don't usually go around thinking things at her on purpose. She might as well just talk to them if that were the case.
Which means that she knew that he was thinking about inviting her to stay at his apartment at the same moment he got the idea in the first place - even before Lupin encouraged him to say so on purpose. It means that even as he says it on purpose she gets some sense of the place, or at least how he feels about it. There is much more to people's thoughts than the dry words that come out of their mouths - it often involves the senses, the emotions, movement, time...
But those aren't the thoughts that she cares about. She couldn't care less about the niceness of the place - a spare corner on the floor better than the alleyway. She's not really alone there, as she has Cathy, but how is she supposed to figure out what to do when she spends all day everyday worried about food and stuff like that? No, what she really cares is whether or not she can trust him to help her, and that's a very difficult question for her to answer.
That he genuinely does want to help is a start, though she's not ready to say whether or not she'll accept it. She's actually run into quite a few people who want to help her - she's living on the streets, is a cute kid, and has a pleasant personality so people are easily moved to pity. It's the kind of help that they think she needs and how proactive they want to be about giving it to her that becomes the point of argument.
But she is ready to do something else. We should talk... I'll come say 'hi'... she says after a moment of hesitation, walking back over to where Victor is. She's rather worse for the wear lately, having lived on the streets long enough for it to show rather clearly. While she tries to keep herself clean, she's still rather filthy from not having much means to do so. Her clothing is worn, her long hair is a mess, and though she's always been thin she's quite a bit thinner than she used to be. On the whole she looks no different than any other kid living on the street. Yet she's the one who walks up to Victor and says, "Hi."
And she looks rather hesitant, her eyes practically suspicious as she says that and nothing more. She definitely believes that he wants to help her, but that's the easy part. It's whether or not he presumes to know what kind of help she needs and wants to insist on giving it to her that's the problem. But if she wasn't willing to give him a shot then she wouldn't have identified herself.

'Wait. Come say hi?' He asked the voice when he heard another voice. A voice that sounded like the one he had been talking to this whole time. He looked at the little girl and then took a quick look around. He knew who this was. His mind just didn't want to accept it. Or at least not as easily as he could accept some other things. Like having a mental wolf living in his mind. He looked at the little girl for abit longer before saying.
"Hi." He looked around again. Still looking for a hidden camera or someone watching. Maybe this was Force testing him? Then he noticed a new smell. 'No that's her alright.' He thought.
He looked her over and knew that he had to try and help her somehow when he saw what she was like. She was a very cute little girl. But she was also somewhat filthy. He had to help her. He could at least offer her a place to stay the night or maybe a bath. If he could get his way though she would be able to stay till things got better for her. But if she didn't want to stay with him he wouldn't push it on her. But first thing was first.
"So your Force? Your the voice I've been hearing in my head?" He asked.
'See Victor you can talk face to face with girls without my help.' Lupin said jokingly.
'Oh ha ha.' Victor replied.
He then looked back at Force. "My offer still stands." He said in a kind voice. He thought about what he would do if she said yes. he wasn't as worried about it now as he was before. Now that he had a face to put with the voice. But he was worried about the face that he had little to no experience with kids other then the occasional kid he met in the past.
Deep down inside though. He wanted to help her. He wanted her to say yes. That way he could truly feel like he was helping someone.... Even if that help was only for a short period of time.
"I can't really offer much entertainment. But I can at least offer a place to eat and sleep..." Then after a pause. "And a place to wash off I too." He waited for a response.

Yes, this is me, Phoebe confirms by saying it in his head rather than out loud. She's just as comfortable talking through thought as she is with her voice, if not more so, though it's her custom to talk out loud when she's close enough to the person, not saying something private while there's other people around, and there's not something making talking out loud inconvenient - like when she wants to talk with her mouth full, for instance. Other people just tend to be more comfortable hearing her voice on the outside of their head rather than in it.
When he comments on her personal hygiene, she glances at herself and makes a face. It's not like she enjoys looking like this, she just didn't have much of a choice in that. She's just glad that Agent Stevens can't see her right now. A shower, food, and a safe place to sleep all sound heavenly right now...
Still, she has to be sure. "And you won't tell anyone I'm there?" she asks very seriously, still looking a bit skeptical and suspicious. He's handling the fact that she's every bit the young girl her voice sounds very well, but the really important point to her is that he'll keep it all a secret. While she absolutely believes that his intentions are good, it's easily possible for someone to call the police on someone with the best intentions in the world - and that's only one example.

When he heard the voice in his head confirm what he had thought he felt a smile tug at his lips. 'Well its nice to finally meet you in person.' He thought to her.
'I feel very much the same.' Lupin said.
He looked at their surroundings and gave a slight chuckle. "Though I wish we weren't meeting after a bomb blast." He said.
He didn't really think much of her mental voice matching her general appearance. Now that he knew abit more about how it all worked. After all according to Lupin Victor's mental voice sounded like his vocal voice as well. So it only seemed logical that her's would too.
When she asked if he wouldn't tell anyone the logical part of his mind thought. 'Why would I' But the main part of his mind was what won out. "I promise I won't tell anyone." He said.
Mentally he added. 'Lupin will be the only other being that will know.' Seeing as, as of yet he hadn't found away to keep secrets from Lupin. Even if the wolf could keep secrets from Victor.

When Victor mentions the bomb, Phoebe glances in the direction of the bridge as she says, "Yeah - too bad I didn't find out before... At least I could keep the bridge from falling." She may be extremely uncertain of pretty much everything else right now, but one thing she's certain of is that she didn't like the idea of any of the crowd of people getting hurt when it wasn't that hard for her to help. Might as well have been her fault if she hadn't done something when she was standing right there.
Though she hears him asking himself why he would tell anyone, she doesn't answer the question even though she could easily give him a list - she doesn't want to give him any ideas. And when he promises she can tell that he means it. Now the question becomes whether or not he'll change his mind in the future. But there's no way to stop that from ever happening, so she'll just have to trust that he won't. Of course, for Phoebe 'trust' means 'watch him like a hawk'. And the thought of food, getting cleaned up, and a decent place to sleep is much too tempting to ignore, especially since she thinks that he might actually live up to his word. Maybe.
"Then I'll go with you," she replies simply, before adding, "Um, and can we go now? I'm kind of hungry..." By which she means that she's really, really hungry. She's actually gotten kind of used to that, but the feeling gets worse when she knows that she'll be able to fix it shortly.
