{{This is part of the Riddler's escape plot. This is happening at the same time as his thread and Catwoman's thread. Please keep that in mind}}
The Joker had spent the least amount of time possible working on his little task for Riddler. He was half tempted to just build a bomb and leave it outside one of Eddie’s regular hiding spots. He knew he wouldn’t be there, but it would send the right message to him. However, since he didn’t want to have to deal with the Riddler wanting his money back for no services rendered, the Joker reluctantly built three of his special bombs. His expertise in chemistry proved useful over and over again. Now, he was combining several skills into one. It was a detour from his ultimate plot, but it was good enough practice to entertain him for the time being.
In the matter of two days, the Joker had created three specialty bombs. Each one was full of diesel, rat poison, shrapnel, and timed release canisters full of Joker toxin. It would kill anyone in the immediate vicinity with the spray of shrapnel and the Joker toxin would spread through the school to kill the students. The only issue would be getting to the University to place said bombs. The Joker had originally contemplated placing them in three different schools, but he realized that it would make too wide of a stage and be too time consuming. Instead, he decided to consolidate the plan and just spread the bombs through Gotham University.
He had lugged the bombs in the back of an unmarked van which he had painted to resemble that of Gotham News Network so it would blend in and readied it to take the bombs to their targets. He still wasn’t quite into the plot. This wasn’t the Joker’s style. He wasn’t a clown you could rent out for birthdays. He was a special engagement that only appeared when he had new material. That was why he wasn’t going to be taking the bombs himself. No, this would be the audition for Sparrow. She had pledged Phi Beta Joker, but that wasn’t quite enough. She would need to prove that she had a skill for showmanship. Being associated with the Joker meant you had to know how to perform for the police.
So, he decided he would let this be her chance. This endeavor was below him anyway, so Sparrow would be allowed to go and have some fun. Either way, the FBI would be occupied. If Sparrow made it without being captured, then she was a shoe in. If not, well, he’d be seeing her in Arkham eventually.

The day had come. The day Brook dreaded having to carry out this devious plot. The first idea of placing bombs in public schools had sickened her. She was hitting a new level of low in the criminal world. It was one thing to take out other gangs, but to go after children. That was hitting a bit below the belt.
She had many mixed feeling on this event. But if it meant making a name for herself to get away from the rest of the population, it might be worth a show. Her powers were longing for the chance to lash out against the people that for so long had considered the meta-humans freaks.
Her powers were a gift and she had tried to play by the rules, but had always been faced with disappointment and let down. For years, it had haunted her to want to hide her powers. But this Joker fellow was giving her the chance to unleash her powers and find out what she could really do,
That and after being in Gotham since the FBI had come into town, she had learned how the citizens had felt about their invasion. Like many of the students at Gotham University, she had felt the difficult and struggles the community had to put up with from the FBI. And this Batman had done nothing against it. So it was time to take it up a notch and get things moving.
Brook now found herself as Sparrow, sitting in the back on a van disguised as a news van. Before it had the chance to park else where, Sparrow had gone about using her powers to shield herself and her movement of placing the bombs around Gotham University. Oh, how she hated to destroy the school she had come to enjoy while her stay in Gotham. But something had to be done to get people moving around here in this city to get the FBI out. As the Joker had said ‘you fight for the winning side’.
She had placed the bomb itself in the main central lecture hall near the green. And the two gas bombs, one in the old gym center and the other on one of the many office building of the campus. So now they where all spread out to buy time. One in the center. And one to the west of the campus and the other to the east.
Now it was time for the waiting game. And to stir up a bit of trouble for the city. Sparrow had stayed far away and hidden from the van to keep it’s cover. She’d be calling the shots for when someone came on to her court to challenge her.
So for now, it was just time to get some attention. The Joker had full control of the bombs, but she was in control of the public menace she needed to become to draw attention. The bombs were places silently, not they need an audience.
Brook used her powers to levitate herself to the northern part of campus near the smaller green that was closer to central Gotham. Sparrow now remained levitating as she closed her eyes and started to summon her energy and focus on a distraction to call attention to the situation. The wind started to pick up around her as she focused. The strong energy channeling into her thoughts. She used her powers to life a car after and throw it across the green into the main entrance of a near by building and started to uproot some trees as the ground started to shack. This was just the beginning. It was like a tropical storm building into a hurricane and there was going to be destruction. She just needed the audience to continue on with the performance.

Even before the Riddler had indicated that something was up by posting a riddle, Hawkgirl could sense that things in the city were heating up and getting ready to explode. Of course, she has no idea that it may soon be literal, but then again she wouldn't be surprised. Which means that she has been even more vigilant in keeping her eyes on the city lately, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that she's the first to notice the sight and sound of chaos occurring at the University. She isn't very close when it gets her attention, however, so though she immediately shifts into high gear to respond to the scene it takes her several moments to fly there.
When she does get close enough for the buildings to not obscure her view, it takes her a few moments to understand what she's seeing. A tornado of some sort? Not possible given the current weather conditions. Then she spots the levitating girl. Ah, a metahuman. She pulls her mace from her belt as she approaches, though she intends to mainly use it on anything unexpected rather than the girl herself - unless she has some sort of enhanced constitution, she probably wouldn't survive that.
Taking no time to further evaluate the situation and come up with a full plan, Hawkgirl simply charges straight at the girl. She doesn't know if the young woman has spotted her approach or not (could go either way since she's coming from the front, but it seems like everyone never checks the sky in this town), or what she might to do defend herself, but if her approach isn't spotted this will be a surprise attack and end quickly. And if it isn't and the girl is strong enough to take on a Thanagarian, better to find out immediately and see what methods she uses so that she can come up with a real plan.
(OOC Note: Hawkgirl's mind is not 'automatically' readable by telepaths - those who normally just sense everyone around can't sense hers. It also has an interesting response to anyone who tries to read it on purpose, so let me know if Sparrow does.)

Sitting before the supercomputer in the bat-cave, the omission of sleep starting to take its toll on his body, Bruce scanned the numeric riddle as crudely plastered on a billboard downtown by none other than the Riddler, aka, Edward Nigma, himself. The purpose of the riddle was plaguing the Dark Knight more than the actual method of solving the riddle itself. Why would Nigma call so much attention to himself when the F.B.I.’s presence in Gotham was more prevalent than ever? Unless he wanted the attention of the Feds too… Edward Nigma had never been shy when it came to gloating about his ingenious intellect, not to mention, he never acted on a whim just for attention’s sake. There was intent and purpose behind the boldly placed riddle…
4538 52386248 483834494463
The more Bruce studied the numbers, running sequences through his computer, the more he was certain that this riddle was acting a single clue to a bigger scheme at hand… He glanced over to the small Mac laptop Jason had left beside the massive computer in the bat-cave—the boy had been doing his homework earlier while Bruce was going through case file information. “Wait a second…” He murmured to himself, the echoes of chirping from the fruit bats above seeming to answer his graveled voice. He stared at Jason’s laptop, the numeric riddle flashing on the enormous supercomputer’s screen before him as his mind worked feverishly.
It was sheer, ironic luck that Jason happened to leave his Macbook laptop computer down in the cave--for upon glancing at its key board with the numeric riddle flashing before him, he was able to spot the more than coincidental placement of numbers to letter locations... He might just re-think his policy on no school work in the bat-cave after all. “I got it!” His exclamation again met with the chirps of the fruit bats within the intricate, vast, and technology-laden bat-cave. "So long, Gotham!” In a perplexed echo of a tone, he had stated the encrypted answer of the numeric riddle. Immediately, he typed in the phrase to the supercomputer, trying to pull up any plausible searches the discovered phrase. He had cracked the riddle only to uncover yet another cryptic riddle—staying true blue to the Riddler’s enigmatic nature. “Something as complex yet attention calling as this riddle… I am betting that Nigma’s phrase is literal. So if he’s being literal…”
He thought out loud to himself as he typed in scenarios and locations. He quickly patched into the GCPD’s line as well, keeping himself alert on the current on-goings within Gotham while he delved deeper into the meaning of the phrase: So long, Gotham!
“… Then Nigma must be trying to leave the city.”
He used his ‘good Samaritan’ untraceable email profile to contact the GCPD, alerting them to be on the lookout for any citizens trying to leave Gotham during its lockdown. He knew he would be better off if he could patch into the Feds’ network, but he hadn’t had a chance to place the encoded, untraceable bug into their line yet as he was still perfecting the bit of tech so it wouldn’t be detected. A quick message was then sent out on his communication devices like the PDAs and comm-links to the Bat-family and other heroes and vigilantes he was consorting with giving them the simple message of:
[glow=gray,2,300]Answer to Riddler’s riddle: So long, Gotham! – Possible breach of security along Gotham City’s outskirt borders. Keep an eye out. -B[/glow] Just then, the feed he had streaming GCPD’s radio waves picked up an all call alert over at Gotham University. Apparently, a meta-human was doing some severe damage by telekinetically destroying property and endangering the lives of students. It never ends. Bruce plugged one of his suits memory chips into the supercomputer, downloading all required info including a recording of the GCPDs radio all call alert for Gotham University, then moved to gear up in the bat-suit. He comm-linked Jason’s own protected line as Robin. -CLICK- [glow=gray,2,300]“Robin, I need you suited up ASAP. I’ve cracked Nigma’s riddle. I want you to do a patrol of Gotham’s city borders—I think the Riddler may be trying to leave. I am uploading your comm-link to patch into the GCPD and if the Feds use shortwave radio signals, you’ll be able to pick upon those without being traced or detected. Start at the west exit and entrance of Gotham and work your way around. I’ll catch up later. There’s a meta-human situation at Gotham University I’m going to deal with right now. I’ll be in touch. I want you to scout the area—don’t engage the Riddler if you come across him. You are to contact me immediately if that happens. Understand?”[/glow] -CLICK-
The last of his comm-linked message ended in a growl of unquestionable authority. He was now in the batmobile, fully suited in mask, cape, and cowl—driving at break-neck speed out of the bat-cave and towards the glowing lights of the city. He suddenly patched Dick into his comm-link line with Robin, patching everyone in on a three-way. -CLICK- [glow=gray,2,300]“Nightwing, I need you at the supercomputer’s helm. I want you to keep radar on both Robin and my location. Because of Nigma’s cryptic phrase I cracked in the riddle, I’m having Robin scout the city’s borders to see if he can get a possible lock on the Riddler’s location. I’m heading the Gotham University to deal with a meta-human problem. I need you to be my eyes and ears for everything elsewhere. Robin, if I’m unreachable—you are to listen to Nightwing. For now, after I handle this situation at the university, I plan to catch up with Robin. Nightwing, contact Batgirl, Huntress, and Mary Marvel—let them know action may be going down at Gotham’s borders. Questions?”[/glow] -CLICK- Once his message was delivered, it would be mere moments that he now arrived at Gotham University. His comm-link still patched into Robin and Nightwing’s lines, he exited his armored, black, tech savvy and weapon laden vehicle—locking it up in supreme security. He had parked it in a discrete location and used its defense system to change its coloring, the batmobile now going “invisible” by utilizing the reflective microchips covering the entire car. He took to higher ground with a simple firing of his grapple gun; white specialized computer eye lenses now switching modes to zoom in and assess the situation’s danger at hand. He saw in the courtyard Hawkgirl going to take on the meta-human—what appeared to be a young girl, unknown in his database. As he scanned the area with those white slit lenses, it was then he noticed the bombs—several of them, placed all around the campus. He had a feeling the meta-human was clearly the distraction for the bigger spectacle at hand. Quickly he set up a new comm-link line to Hawkgirl as he made his way to the closest bomb located on the eastside of the school.
-CLICK- [glow=gray,2,300]“Batman here. I’m just to the east of you, Hawkgirl. My censors show several bombs placed around the campus—not sure of their nature or build. Finding out now and will give you information as I get it. Keep the meta-human distracted!"[/glow] -CLICK-

Sparrow was in the middle of all this. The trouble her doing and continuing to grow. The powers of her mental strength only picking up as she continued. This was something new to her. She never let loss her powers like this before. And it felt great!
Just because most of her attention was on what her powers were forming did not mean that she didn't notice what other actions were going around her. Her intent was to draw the police in. She was nothing more than a distraction for the public.
Though Hawkgirl sudden charging in did catch her a little off guard due to the speed of the approach. Sparrow was still able toward the last minute to bring up a force field around herself for protection. This did not how ever help to hinder the attack from cause some kind of reaction from her powers and mind.
As the force field went up and Hawkgirl met with it, Sparrow was force to hold the blockade against the strength of this bird woman. She had never seen this woman before. Though she recognized her. Sparrow wondered if she hadn't seen this woman with Superman at some point back in the other city. This must be the 'Hawkgirl' Joker had said about previously to who might try and show up in this town lately.
Sparrow's force field was enough to protect her, but the force of the attack was enough to bring her down to the ground. Her force field stopping her from a hard hit and fall. Though her powers broke strength of a moment from lack of concentration to be able to continue on with the hurricane like winds she had brought into the middle of the campus.
The force build crashing into the ground left a huge dent and dust as it slid from the force. Once the dust started to clear, Sparrow raised herself up again to face this new challenge. To see her attacker. "Hawkgirl, I presume," she said. "Come to crash the party? There's more than this going on." Referring to more to the plan on the bombs, but not saying it.
Before she would give the bird woman a chance to strike her again. The first hit still turning quiet a it with a last minute force field. She conjured her powers once again to send out and energy to lift some near by trees to hit the woman with hard force. She had a back up plan is the woman came at her or avoid the trees. One step at a time.
(ooc: I apologize for not posting sooner. Will try harder to keep up with this thread better.)

As she nears the girl, Hawkgirl scowls when she hears Batman's voice over the communicator. "What does it look like I'm doing? Stop distracting me!" she snaps back, not in the mood to be ordered around like she's a novice who doesn't know what they're doing. She's been doing this sort of thing for a bit longer than he's been alive, after all. Okay, maybe the detail about the bombs is good to know - she's too focused on her target to have noticed them herself - but she gets a bit... aggressive while she's fighting.
But she can't dwell on that thought because that's when she impacts the girl's force field. Not a surprising defense for someone throwing around cars and picking up trees, but annoyingly effective at ending her charge. Still, she puts all her momentum behind it - now that she knows that there are bombs, the urgency of keeping this girl occupied is that much higher.
The girl's words get a smirk as she comments, "I know, but I'd rather play with you." She trusts that, in spite of her angry reply a moment ago, Batman will alert her if there's anything going on that's a better use for her skills than fighting this young woman. But while there are many dangerous things in this world, a metahuman with the level of power being displayed here is pretty high on the list.
Hawkgirl prepares to strike again, though she's delayed just a little when trees suddenly come flying after her. However, she proves to be exceptionally agile in the air. She is, in fact, the most agile flying thing on this planet, (for her size at least), and what she can't dodge she hits with her mace, which can deliver surprisingly hard blows. Only what gets past that actually hits her, but she's quick to catch herself when it throws her slightly off course. In the end, the delay proves minimal and she's clearly set to attack again.

Once responses were confirmed from both Nightwing and Robin about their ordered tasks at hand, he listened to Hawkgirl’s testy acknowledged agreement of the current plan both heroes now began to embark upon. He moved silently through the shadows, careful to keep his mind clear and blocked just in case this psionic powered metahuman also had the ability to read minds.
Years of training and preparation allowed him to build upon his mental fortitude and though he could still be mind read or mind controlled, his sense of will would make it somewhat difficult to gain initial access to his mind as well as maintain control to read thoughts. Needless to say his entire focus was upon where his specialized lenses honed in on the location of the bombs.
-CLICK-[glow=gray,2,300]“Nightwing, update the bat-computer to process the feed my censors are providing.”[/glow]-CLICK-
Once his command was given it would take just a few moments before the in-depth, high-tech line of vision he had on the bombs now was able to hone in on each of their three locations. Two gas bombs and one explosive. He made his way to the left—the style of gas bomb that he processed into his database brought up similar matches from other gas bomb elements he had tackled in the past. The style reeked of Joker. The very thought of the homicidal clown made his blood boil, teeth now clenched, and movements were even more precise and quick.
Taking to the school’s office building rooftops he moved that much faster, zoning in on the location of the dangerously placed bomb. Within moments he reached the destructive gas fueled device and began to work on its diffusion. Pulling a few choice tools out of his well-equipped utility belt, he was able to successfully diffuse the bomb. He had no time to collect the explosive and destruct it completely given the fact that there were still two other highly deadly active bombs. Without a moment to spare he took off, heading to the other location of the second gas bomb—this one proving to be in the old gym building on campus. Gliding and grappling over the buildings of the university, he was able to reach the second bomb in record time.
Again, the gas bomb was diffused and left in its spot with intention to be collected later. The gas bombs were generic in their construction, but there was something about the way the chemicals were rigged to fuse once they were detonated that confirmed his suspicions about Joker’s involvement. He now headed to the third bomb, the explosive bomb, located in the center within the lecture hall. Of course this bomb’s location was in direct eye line of the metahuman. As he headed over toward the lecture hall he patched his comm-link into Nightwing and Robin.
-CLICK- [glow=gray,2,300]“Looks like the trouble at the university is Joker’s handy work. Just diffused two of his gas bombs, heading for the third. It also looks like he has a psionic metahuman working as one of his lackeys now. Hawkgirl is handling the metahuman while I diffuse the last bomb—this attack on the university appears to be more of a distraction. Nightwing, keep watch and lines open for anything. Joker is bound to have something else up his sleeve.”[/glow]-CLICK-
He reached the roof the lecture hall center, crouching low to remain hidden from the metahuman’s attention. He didn’t allow himself to be distracted by the uprooted trees and vehicles being thrown through the air like a careless child with their toys. He also trusted Hawkgirl to do her job in keeping the powerful psionic girl distracted while he now worked to locate the last bomb.

At Hawkgirl's words, Brook smirked at her comment. Sparrow was ready for the attack. The tress had not worked.. She'd have to try something else at the time. At the time of attacking, she could sense that two of the bombs had been taken out.
"I'm sure you would," Sparrow spoke smugly. "Though I sense someone else is helping you out at this time." She hadn't missed words of Hawkgirl earlier when she was on the com-link. Brook's mind picked up on any outside words that were spoken if she couldn't read minds. And a light try against Hawkgirl, scanning over showed she'd have a difficult time with that.
Sparrow was there to keep them going and off guard. But she wasn't willing to go into a mental fight at this time. This woman had come in unknown to her senses at first. She did a quick scan of the area with her powers mentally of the buildings. There was reading of movements, but the mind she was sensing was blocked heavily. She wondered if what ever was taking out the bombs was even human.
"Let have some fun shall we? I many not be picking up on your friend at the moment with you in front of me at the moment, but I have a fun game to play," Sparrow smirked. "How about cracking a force field?"
Within seconds, Sparrow summoned her powers to quickly surround Hawkgirl in a force field to hold her for a moment. At the same time, she formed a force field around the last remain bomb area in the building. Simply blocking all ways into the room where it was hidden. She knew the timing of it and her powers set in-sink with the timer to be able to let got of the force field two seconds before the bomb would go off. It would have no affect on her. It was a minor force field easy enough for her to manipulate with her mind to keep humans from tampering with things. But most of her energy at the time was focused on having Hawkgirl trapped at the time. It might hope for a couple good hard hits. But Sparrow would back off as soon as it become too much before it mental cause some damage strongly.
That was one thing she love about her powers, she was good at multitasking on missions for a good period of time. Though it depended on the strength of the counter attacks.

Even a light try against Hawkgirl's mind gives a hint of danger. One gets the sight, sound, and feel of feathers and wings... Angry feathers attached to powerful wings, all of them eager to attack at the slightest provocation. What the wings are attached to is less clear: something bird-like, but not a bird - something profoundly alien. Even the strongest of telepaths are wise to steer clear of such this mind - it won't stop you from entering, but it will punish you for doing it. Severely. Whether Hawkgirl wants it too or not, actually - it's a reflex of her subconscious that's completely outside of her control.
And she doesn't seem to mind that the girl is aware of Batman. The man has encountered telepaths and the like before, and she trusts him to look after himself in spite of his comparative inexperience. And it takes a lot to distract Hawkgirl from a target when it's chosen, so that's where all her focus stays. She doesn't even comment until her attempt to charge at the girl again is halted by a force field suddenly enclosing her.
Not missing a beat, she lifts her mace and starts pounding away at it with surprisingly heavy blows. She may not have the strength of someone like Superman, but she does have her fair share and it's only enhanced by the Nth metal in her mace. She could take something like a reinforced concrete pillar in only a couple of blows, and she's quick to apply that force against the field. Standard Thanagarian mentality: hit it until it breaks. "It'll be my pleasure!" she says between blows, certain that it will give away eventually, and certain that keeping it in place will cost the girl time, energy, and most importantly her attention. The more attention she forces the girl to keep on her, the better for Batman.

Upon reaching the third and final location of the bomb, his entrance through one of the many side windows of the lecture hall was abruptly and literally blocked off by an invisible force. Teeth grit sharply out of frustration as the Bat switched the vision scan of his specialized lenses—not exactly able to see the newly placed telekinetic force field around the scholarly building, but more so able to pick up on the faint traces of heat signature created by manipulated energy.
Damn.
The metahuman must be aware of his presence. Time to switch tactics and go to the ever present back up plan. Grappling to the top of the lecture hall’s roof, the Bat secured a vantage point allowing him to oversee the fantastic warzone between Hawkgirl and the metahuman just before him in the splayed out courtyard around the rigged structure. He took aim on the metahuman girl, noticing her demeanor in the way she distributed her energy to control her powers. She seemed to be in good form to multi-task her abilities, but also appeared to be focusing the vast majority of her attention on Hawkgirl’s epically powerful striking blows against the invisible force field now encasing her.
It was the small window of opportunity he needed to make his own discrete and tactical move. Three bat-shaped shurikens, notoriously known as batarangs, were pulled from the confines of his multi-functional utility belt and thrown with extreme precision and master-skilled force. One batarang was especially potent in its strike given that it was rigged with a strong active surge of an electrical current charge—a voltage powerful enough to knock a foe off their feet temporarily, a voltage powerful enough to release the burst of electricity into the closest target within a one foot radius without the batarang needing to make impact.
Of course, the other two batarangs accompanying the electro-burst batarang would help to channel the electrical current a little further, upping chances of its impacting effect. The razor sharp throwing weapons sailed silently through the air with each batarang curving at a separate angle of trajectory; all aimed for different vulnerable points upon the meta’s body in hopes to knock down her psionic concentration with a biting shock sure to sting if successful...

Sparrow started to concentrate once again on Hawkgirl before her. Putting most of her energy into securing the force field around the alien. This was more of a test on her skill than a strain. She knew how to handle things. And as long as she kept her focus and continued to exert energy to the other force field, it would be enough to hold any mortal out of the build she was protecting. And it would be strong enough with stand the hits from the mace to her force field for a while as a distraction to prolong the progress of this odd team.
Her attention was drawn more and more to preventing Hawkgirl from escaping at the time. Her powers weakening on the building she was protecting. She needed to protect herself at the moment. She needed to keep her mind open to any threats.
But the hits from the mace were affecting her hold on the force field. She need to just last a little longer if she could. Though it was getting close to the breaking point if she held out any longer. Sparrow needed to focus her powers on Hawkgirl. She was the threat. She had the strong weapon. Brook couldn't risk as Sparrow, letting her break the force field.
If that were to happen, the cracks would send the energy to her mind as well. It would cause Sparrow as much pain in her mind as it would from the mace hitting the force field if Brook wasn't prepared enough. It was one or the other.
Though something came within rant of her thought waves surveying the area. Something was coming at her and fast. It wasn't human. It was weapons. She could tell by the pattern giving off from her energy still trying to locate the human and her power hold on the building.
This was the break she needed to down her force field to protect herself from the mental stress from a crack in it. She needed to protect herself. It's came withing second though. It happened all so fast. Something cut across the back of her leg and landed in the ground. Sparrow's hold on Hawkgirl and the building broke as she yelled out in pain a the sudden pain. She quickly, within seconds had time to put up a shield around her to protect herself.
As she did so an the other too object reflected off the building shield and into the ground, it was sending shocks into her energy power as she fought against it with her mind. The electricity had gotten at her with the first hit and was trapped within her shielding as the other two object projected the electricity towards her.
Brook was yelling out in pain as she fought back the electric currents coming at her. Sparks were forming as she fought her energy against the electric shocks. Sparrow was growing more frustrated with the situation. Her rage growing as was her own force field around her as it could been seen. Blue sparks flashing against it, outlining it.
Sparrow crossed her lower arms up in an x and then started to try and concentrate. Then she screamed out as she threw her arms straight out in front of her and directed them to the sides. This action disbanded the weapons sending shocks at her, sending any object within a hundred yards, further away from her. Cars were hurdle into building, crashing through brick walls. Trees were up rooted and the weapons sent away from her.
This action drained her a bit of her full strength. Brook immediately fell to the ground. Her body in shock at first over her own power surge. Brook's mind reminded her the battle was still on. Sparrow lay on her side, fallen from the stress that she had endured through the strength of multiple tasks. Her mind even in her state projected a strong protective shield around the girl's body as she tried to recover. A light blue light of waves formed the surrounding force field protecting her. It was a subconscious power of her's. Her powers projecting her as well as her mind from further damage.
Now, her grip was fully lost on the building and Hawkgirl as she lay there. She didn't move for a bit. Her mind almost in a recovery state. This was something she hadn't had to go through before. She had never been pushed this hard to hold back something and protect at the same time.

There is approximately one way for Agent Stevens to react to getting the news that there's a powerful metahuman attacking the University: get Phoebe there as quickly as possible. So the pair arrive near the front of the small flood of black vehicles the F.B.I. sends to respond. They park just inside the campus and jump out of the vehicle, running on ahead and ignoring the other agents who are quickly trying to organize themselves.
Shield us, Agent Stevens instructs Phoebe, knowing that the girl hardly ceases to read her thoughts and opting to communicate that way because of the effort of speaking while they run. Our target is a metahuman - a young blonde woman, according to the report. We didn't get a good description of her powers, but she was flying. There was also a possible Hawkgirl sighting; she looks like a woman with wings. And she's not to be touched unless she tries to stop us. They'd been in such a hurry that Agent Stevens was only able to glean the most basic information from the radio on their way here, but Phoebe's trained to meet the unexpected and she trusts in the girl's abilities.
Got it, Phoebe confirms as she throws one of her powerful but invisible shields around them as they run, trying to keep her mind focused and her eyes on the sky for flying blondes and winged women. Ten year old girls can only run so fast, but they finally make it past another building to where they can actually see something: a car flying right at them.
Phoebe doesn't so much as flinch as the large vehicle deflects off of her unseen barrier and into the building next to them. Nor when the building showers debris upon them, only for it to slide down the rounded sides of the shield. That's normal to her, really. No, what has her attention is the young blonde woman falling to the ground: their target. Almost by reflex she reaches out with her mind to read the thoughts of her target, checking to see if they only got here just in time to witness the young woman's defeat.
Though they both have telepathy, the way Phoebe's works is very different. She can't probe very far: only surface thoughts and only deeply enough to tell if they're true or not. Rather than sensing everyone around her, she has to consciously want to read someone's thoughts. That Batman is even present on a rooftop nearby is unknown to her, and Hawkgirl is ignored in accordance with her orders. Instead her energy is focused on the barrier around her and her guardian and the older girl on the ground.

With classic single-mindedness, Hawkgirl strikes against the barrier again and again. One might think that this brute force approach is relatively thoughtless in nature, but though that's partially correct, she keeps an eye on the girl's reaction to her repeated blows. If she saw no sign of effectiveness she'd probably have switched tactics, but she can start to see the strain on the girl's features and keeps it up.
There's an inner sense of satisfaction when she sees Batman take the opportunity to attack the girl too in his classic, sneaky way. They'd actually make a very good team if they associated more, she thinks: she's the type to bash in the front door, he's the type to sneak into the back door, and they have their enemies surrounded with just the two of them doing what they do best.
And suddenly she's free of the barrier, and immediately she charges again only to be blocked by another shield: this time defensive and surrounding the young woman. But before she can start to deal with it the same way she dealt with the first one, she notices the effect of the electric current on the young woman and finds herself instinctively hanging back a bit. Which is just as well because a moment later she finds herself righting herself in the air after being thrown back by a sudden surge of energy. It isn't enough to make her lose her focus for more than a moment, but her loss of focus actually proves beneficial because it causes her to look around for a moment.
"The F.B.I. have arrived," she says rapidly into her communicator, able to see them from her position in the air, "They're gathering on the east side of campus. One of them and what I'm guessing is their girl have run ahead - you should be able to see them on your 4 o'clock." Assuming that he hasn't spotted them already. Batman may not have her powers of perception, but he's a cut above your average human, to be sure.
Report over, she flies back most of the distance she was pushed but keeps her distance from the downed metahuman. The blue shield is a clear sign that it may not be over yet, and she'd noted some signs of how the young woman was reacting to the strain that the telekinetic barriers are linked to her physically. Unlike Batman and many others, Hawkgirl does not have a solid 'do not kill' policy, but that doesn't mean that she isn't reluctant to do so when she isn't sure that it's necessary. She's not about to start an attack that she isn't sure an opponent can take if she doesn't think that she has to.

The moment the electrical current surged through the metahuman, the sensory input of Batman’s lenses picked up the drop in heated energy read out where the force field had been procured over the lecture hall. He didn’t waste a moment of time to move… Immediately he broke through the glass pang window of the educational structure before him and landed swiftly amoung the shards of broken glass.
Though he was a “good guy” and even had an official title in the JLA, he was still a vigilante and was no officer of the law. Breaking and entering was a common MO of his to get what he needed, when he needed.
Right now?
He needed to diffuse the last bomb. His targeting navigational program within the CPU of his bat-suit advised him as to where the third and final bomb was hidden… Once he found it, he began to diffuse it. Over his comm-link he heard Hawkgirl’s message in regards to the arrival of the Feds. Great. More cooks in the kitchen--that was all he needed. Still it would be best to let the Feds handle the remains of the bombs leftover from Joker which would give him time to catch up with Robin.
Hawkgirl’s comm-link also alerted him that she was doing fine and handling herself as well as the metahuman and given her unspoken “immunity” with the Feds, he knew she would be able to continue handling herself with no problem.
[glow=gray,2,300]“Last bomb has been diffused. I trust you can handle things from here.” [/glow] Batman would comm-link back over to Hawkgirl. He grappled back out of the lecture hall now—keeping mind of the Feds arriving on his 4 o’clock side. He took to the rooftop of the lecture hall and did a quick general scan of the area for threats against citizens or threats towards himself. Once he was secure in his current location, a leaping glide was taken from the top of the building he stood upon and another grapple was shot out, latching to the clock tower of GCU.
He was a few blocks away from where the Batmobile had been cleverly disguised in its parked spot—so far narrowly avoiding the FBI and now currently on his way to assist Robin in his patrol for the Riddler.
[glow=gray,2,300]“Robin, any sign of Riddler? I’m on my way towards your location.” [/glow]
Batman comm-linked over to his partner, honing in on the tracking signal his GPS followed for Robin.

Meanwhile, at the Batcave:
Dick continued to monitor everyone action from the main computer systems in the Batcave. That and the news had already spread of the attack on the university and was starting up on the news. But no one seemed to dare get in close. Otherwise the FBI was holding people back from the event.
He listened to the communication through the comm-link. He could hear Batman and Hawkgirl. But there was no check-ins from Robin. Dick continued to search over the screens checking over vital signs on everyone. And signals from everyone's mode of transport.
Dick kept hacking into the system trying to get in on anyone's comm-link to hear what was going on. He still had a signal from Robin's helmet and utility-belt. So he knew he was still up and about. Problem was...What was going on though?
Jason had blocked him out completely after getting the read on the car. After that, things were completely quiet as far as what was going on between the chase that might be going on. Dick felt it was time to notify Batman. He was already on his way there, so Dick figure to give him the readings report he was picking up on the bat-computer. The bat-computer would be able to pick up more signs and Batman would have access to checking those if he wanted to see for himself.
Dick had pick up damage done to the bike Robin had taken. That was easy for him since he knew the system inside and out from using working on the bike systems himself for all those years. He was picking up more reading and a downed signal.
"Batman, no word from Robin. He's still on the move, but the bike is downed. Something done to the tires to take it out. The signal on it is still going located close to the outskirts of Gotham. We have located the vehicle, but as to what might be going on...I'm not exactly sure. I'm not getting any response from him. The signal in his belt shows him as still on the move, but traveling at a more out of controlled speed," Dick called in over the link to give Batman his findings on the scanner and computer.
The files were all linked to the Batmobile for his use if needed. Dick couldn't do much at this time. So he could only try and keep getting through and keeping an eye on any unwanted visitors as well if the FBI started hounding in the situation.
