Lyssa eyes misted, her lips turning down not in anger, but shame that as much as she wished things were that easy, they never were. She wanted to do something and she could speak to Agent Stevens. She knew her anger at the situation could not even dent his. “You'll go after her, there's no telling what she can do with her powers. It'd be worth it for a moment and then you'd just be a bigger monster because you know what everyone else will see. An adult attacking a child, and in your case a demon or beast. It wouldn't be worth it.” She squeezed his hand in hers more firmly.
“I'll not defend her, but I will protect you. You don't deserve to be seen as any more negatively than you already are.” Even that wasn't fair. It wasn't his fault he looked like this and it was this very Agency who had further marred his image. "Let's get out of here, huh? Walk around some more or go back to our quarters."

"Thats how It always is, But Do you know how many government secrets she could walk out of here with an just hand off to someone just because she's free to read anyones mind she pleases? " It didn't matter, he knew that the excuse of her age would be used, but look at other countries in the world. children younger than her being strapped to bombs to kill troops. Or toting a assault rifle to kill people who stop an think. Its just a kid.

"I know," she said in answer to his comment. She stroked his cheek. "I know." The possibilities were endless and the excuse was she was a child. Easy to lead, to manipulate. Her expression became troubled with a thought she'd tried to press away often. The FBI she had joined did not manipulate children, but here was the evidence. Warren was evidence. She let her hand fall from his face and looked away.
The FBI didn't help children like Warren or Phoebe, at least she didn't think so. They said they did, convinced the children, the parents, but they only made them more outcast, creating children who had few to trust. No wonder Phoebe read people's minds.

He shrugged, looking away really not wanting to be in the current situation. Knowing that there was nothing either of them can do about it. "yeah. I wish other people would"

Lyssa nodded, but didn't speak. She wasn't sure what to say. The silence continued and she let her hand drop his. It was a few moments following that that she finally looked at him again. "And...I think we're in need of a change in scenery and subject." She wanted out of the current situation too.
"They have your favorite soda here." She never said the subject wouldn't be random.
