Phoebe simply nods to Agent Stevens' completely unnecessary question. If she wasn't done, she wouldn't be holding the pennies, now would she? It's then that she finally turns her attention to the other two people in the room. Or, rather, to Ghast since Agent Anders looks extremely normal by contrast. Phoebe's eyes boggle and she startles - that's the last thing she expected to see when she looked up! Perhaps in theory her reaction ought to be more like Agent Stevens' since its not like she hasn't met a lot of metahumans before, but then again she's still a kid.
However, it's more a matter of surprise instead of fear coming from her from her; it's not like she's a girl who can't protect herself and needs to run and hide from much of anything. And surprise is such a short-lived emotion; soon it turns into a sort of tentative curiosity - she has questions that she's not sure whether or not she wants answered. With some difficulty she shifts her attention over to Agent Anders guessing names, nods, and politely says, "Pleased to meet you."
Smiling at Phoebe's instant show of manners, Agent Stevens nods herself and comments, "Well, when you see the list of what she can do that no adult can..." She shrugs and smiles, obviously found of her young charge. "And I remember Ghast from his file, but remind me who you are?" she asks politely. The people who failed to inform everyone else properly also failed to inform Agent Stevens, so she's going off an old memory and not a fresh one.

Warren gave a quick smirk to the kid When she meet his dead gaze. He couldn't tell if it was bravery or naivety that caused her to remain so calm. Assuming it to be the later of the two judging her age. He could almost sympathize with her though, the federal government catching him around her age. However the comment from Steven's catches his attention for the moment, Right, here we go with the bragging act. Mine can do this, mine can do that. Freakin' break my neck now..
It wasn't really ones place to brag about something that wasn't theirs to brag about. Big deal she was a telepath, Big deal he could come back from dead. What was with people an pissing matches? as long as the job got accomplished who really cares? Besides, Casualties were a main staple in war, Lives were always lost for the greater good, or for supply. Just look at the so called war in the middle east, To the media its about fighting terrorism, really its about the control of the oil supply. Warren, Jaded? No.. Never, what could give someone that Idea.
However he did find the lack of remembering Lyssa's name to be a bit insulting. Ghast knew that he was more memorable, though the list of people who had to deal with him was probably a mile long. To him it as still no excuse to be ill-informed if one had seen or look at a file. Over looking something like a point of contact was was sloppy in the line of work. Sloppiness was something he didn't take lightly, In fact his Work was one of the few things he took seriously.
He could kill with out a second thought, seeing how most of his work was that of assassinations, suicide missions, coupes, inciting fear in third world countries. Slaughtering anyone that decided to stand in his way or that could be loose end. Man, woman, child, he Cared not. There was a zero tolerance for Lose ends.

Lyssa smiled at Phoebe and nodded to her, her actions genuine. She had a soft spot for children, though if her orders to give to Warren ended up with young lives being lost, she was capable of dissociating and being impersonal about it--which meant she usually didn't ask if she didn't see it. She'd had to learn to cope with such possibilities. At least to her, such causalities weren't personal, just necessary. Then her eyes flickered to Agent Stevens.
"Anders," is the simple reply she gives. She would be listed as simply Agent L. Anders, despite the fact it wasn't her actual given surname. She doesn't waste her breath on being offended, she felt the slight sting of a perceived insult, but in the eyes of the agency, she was just a glorified babysitter beside Warren, so she simply lets it go. There were far more important things to focus on, and none of them involved getting in a brag-off over who was better. In her mind Warren had shown himself and was a testament all his own. He was still there wasn't he? And his file had indeed been read thoroughly enough, it was common knowledge that he too had been inducted when he was child. There was no need to stand up for him; it mattered not what others thought of him, she enjoying his Handler, had grown fond of his rebellious and sarcastic nature. She'd not trade him in for anyone else, no matter how much more obedient they were. Warren was her partner, plain and simple.
Speaking of him, she offered another, impressed smile to Phoebe before regarding Warren. There was no denying the girl was talented, everyone was, with a different ability all. Each one with its advantages and disadvantages.
"Feeling caged again?" Her voice asked softly, nodding. She understood.

Getting used to both of these new people, Phoebe splits her attention between monitoring their thoughts. If it weren't for her telepathy, the girl would actually be quite paranoid; she has a certain obsession with worrying about people being genuine or not, though thanks to her mental ability she can get her own proof and therefore doesn't have to worry. But that means that, in situations like this especially, she's in the habit of 'listening' to everybody. The only one she really trusts without it is Agent Stevens, and that's merely because of how long and well she knows the woman.
Nevertheless, as with their physical appearance, her attention is drawn more toward Ghast's thoughts than Agent Anders'. Mostly because the thoughts of someone who is talking are generally nothing but them trying to decide what to say, and that's boring. Though it's also because she takes exception to what he's thinking about Agent Stevens. That? No, that's not bragging. She just said that to make me feel better 'cause she knows I don't like how everybody has to talk about how old I am. And she only doesn't remember her name because nobody told us you were coming, and I'm new to doing real missions - she knew the names of everyone while I was training, and now she has to meet a whole new set of people. You're lucky she remembered you. And she feels really bad about it. Give the lady a break,[/color][/i] she thinks at him. Defensive much? Well, he is thinking about her guardian, after all.
But on the surface Phoebe is just quietly listening to the exchange between the adult women, and she returns Agent Anders' smile with a grin. "Anders, right. Sorry," Agent Stevens says sincerely, mentally kicking herself in accordance to Phoebe's mental words.

"You need to learn to control you powers an stay out of Other people's heads. Its quite rude you know" He spoke out loud looking down at the girl. Did this girl think he enjoyed how people looked at him? She would grow up an be out of people worried about her Age. Ghast would never get away from the frightened reactions. As immune to them as he had become. He would rather avoid such situations but, it was a necessary evil.
He seemed to be that a lot, because no one else could.

Her gaze quickly flickered to Warren at his scolding of the girl and then back to the girl herself. “A telepath,” she half-grinned, “I see.” She waved a hand at Agent Stevens meanwhile, her apology unneeded. When having to stand against Warren, she wasn't surprised, though she had no idea why Stevens had truly not known her name—that she really hadn't known and it was by luck that she'd even known Warren.
She figured telepathy must be an interesting power and after seeing evidence of the girl's telekinesis, she wasn't as surprised the child possessed the secondary ability at all, but she had to agree that stealing into people's thoughts was a little rude, she'd been taught that.
“Ah, Warren, she's still young, it takes time to learn discretion with an ability.” Though for some, there was not such thing as discretion, and she knew that.

Completely undeterred by the critical words of either adult, Phoebe frowns at Ghast and says, "There's nothing wrong with my control. If I don't control it, it's off - not on. I listen to everybody's thoughts. And I don't care if you think it's rude; if you don't like it, you don't have to talk to me." And that's the end of that matter, as far as Phoebe is concerned. She's not about to stop just because someone doesn't like it, in fact that only makes her more suspicious - why would any honest person have reason for her to not want to listen to their thoughts?
Agent Stevens, knowing exactly why Phoebe takes that position, shrugs in a sort of 'what can you do?' gesture. "Her third power is being stubborn about that. But she's weak for a telepath, if that helps: surface thoughts only. And she does show discretion in sharing what she overhears," she notes apologetically, getting an unhappy glance from Phoebe, but the girl doesn't comment - mostly because it's true and she can't argue with it. Obviously Agent Stevens is not pleased by that particular habit of Phoebe's, but how exactly is anyone supposed to stop the girl? And she's just glad that Phoebe outgrew simply taking anything she wants with her telekinesis.

"Excuse Me for thinking that I should still have at least one part of my being that should be my own" He said to Lyssa rolling his eyes. Of course, he should have expected such a reaction.
"Here's the only thing wrong with that statement kid. If I don't talk to you, You can still get in my head. Maybe If I think about cannibalism or evisceration you'll stay out"
It was about privacy, being apart of the government meant that one had little of such a thing. Unfortunately nothing would every make him free of such a life. He was going to be stuck doing this forever

“It's not wrong to think that. Your thoughts should be private, I feel violated too, but she's a child, though she's old enough to understand not everyone likes their thoughts read, nor deserves to.” She hadn't been scolding Warren, he had had every right to react the way he did. Yet, it was as if she had the power to stop the girl from reading thoughts, she did however look to Agent Stevens.
“Force needs to learn to recognize and differentiate between those whose thoughts need to be read and those don't. We're no threat and we're allowed to think as we please. I would hate to have a thought, merely considered in anger be taken seriously. Thoughts don't harm, actions to back them up do. We're allies, and as such, I do think at least a minimum amount of trust is needed.” Her eyes fell to Phoebe, she was hardly angry, but her voice was factual as was her thoughts. She could understand having her thoughts read, but to Warren whose actions were even watched, she could understand the irritation. His thoughts truly were the only private thing he had and now the child before them had violated that.
It wasn't a very good first impression to him, she knew that.

Still completely unrepentant, Phoebe frowns at Ghast, "Yes, I can. Doesn't mean I will. And think about whatever you want - I don't care." It's not like someone with her abilities and such a penchant for using them doesn't get dulled to extreme thoughts. Even if Ghast manages a new high (or is that low?) on the 'worse thought she's ever read' scale, it's unlikely it would be as shocking as he would hope. Phoebe just isn't as innocent as her appearance would lead you to believe.
Then to Agent Anders she simply restates, "You don't want your thoughts read, you don't talk to me. I don't trust you, even a little. And I still don't care what you think about that." Her voice, though extremely firm, somehow manages to avoid sounding outright defiant. You'd think that she was an adult explaining that certain non-negotiable policies are in place.
At Agent Anders' look Agent Stevens frowns and sighs as she says, "I know that. If you can convince her, my hat's off to you. And though I'm not apologizing for her, keep in mind that Force is well aware that we all have failings. I consider ways of murdering my direct superiors all the time, and she hasn't told on me yet." While Agent Stevens may have more control over Phoebe than anyone else, there's still limits to that. The girl's just lucky that she's useful enough that such shows of stubbornness are tolerated by those higher up in the organization. And actually, that may spare her the annoyance of having to meet them.

"Just says that only her manners are for looks when being toted around like a trophy," He Said to Lyssa. certianly not caring that the other two would here. What were they going to do? kill him? Like that hasn't happened before. At least he knew that there was a time an a place for everything. "The Both of you making excuses for her, She knows damn well what she does is wrong an by all means of the word. " He scoffed an rolled his eyes. Of course they would make excuses for her. Why wouldn't they, she was small an looked every bit normal on the out side. It was human nature to protect the young.
Of course he looked a monster, so there for the human nature was to kill. He had been dealing with such situations since he was little. Since he first came back to the land of the living. For the most part he hated people, His parents were the same. Ghast clenched his hands into fists. The nails protruding from fingers were forced the the inside of his palm an through the flesh of his right hand. Blood dripping steadily towards the floor in a small puddle. a small plicking noise dropped in a rhythmic pattern as the crimson sticky warm liquid splashed to the floor in droplets of quads.
He hated people getting away by on their looks or age, Small an cute could get away with anything. Even something as rude as invasion of the last thing a person has to his own. "maybe if you had the mental capacity to understand that those thoughts are the last thing I have to my self maybe you small simple gifted mind would understand the anger that comes with it. But thats just a monster putting faith in humanity where he is given none. Which was directed at the thing that maybe only came to his waist.

Lyssa didn't defend herself to Warren. She was making an excuse because Phoebe was young, but Warren was right, even the girl could understand how much his private thoughts remaining so had meant to him. It was obvious in his behavior, his irritation only further proving it, and she was sure his thoughts were even more telling if Phoebe listened to them, even on the surface. Yet had she known his thoughts as well as the girl, she had replies to his cynicism. Yet she didn't and so she didn't respond to anything he said at first. Immediately her attention was drawn to his hand, instead.
"Warren," she half-gasped, not to scold or belittle. She wasn't reprimanding him, instead she was bringing his attention to the fact that he'd harmed himself. She grabbed his hand gently in hers and carefully opened his hand. She didn't care about the blood on the floor, or that it was now running onto her own hand. In fact she didn't even notice even if she had, she wouldn't have cared. The wound was deep, but not in any sense fatal, but she still pulled a handkerchief from her pocket, a memento from some foreign visit in the years before she was a handler.
She wrapped it around his hand, despite that the colorful, decorative cloth was ripped by the teeth of the nails and stained by scarlet. She didn't know and wouldn't care when she found out later that the ruined cloth wouldn't even release the color after a wash, the materials too delicate. She just tied it around his wound, dedicated to that, not to the others in the room until the task was done.
She looked at Phoebe then. If she understood how at the age of seven, Warren was murdered by his own parents, without mercy, without remorse for the simple fact that he couldn't feel pain, that he was different perhaps she'd have more of an open mind. Had she known what it felt like to be trapped in the frigid chamber of a morgue for over twenty-four hours then maybe her behavior would have been gentler to him. He had had no childhood; children who saw his appearance shunned him, bullied him, and no one had protected him like Stevens and yes, even her did Phoebe.
His childhood had been forcibly ripped from his fingers. He had no childhood, no personal privacy, and no one like Stevens to even act as surrogate to him. They denied him, until she had come along.

Both the words and the thoughts of both Ghast and Agent Anders easily puts Phoebe into a less than sympathetic mood. But she now speaks only to the former, who she regards without fear - self-inflicted wounds or not. "You're just jealous," she accuses, "And you shouldn't be!" Has her life been better than his? Well, yes, but it isn't like hers has been the most pleasant either. But she doesn't want to have to spell all of that out to him, so she doesn't.
"Maybe if you stopped complaining so much more people would like you," she adds sourly, not bothering at all to even try to be polite now.
"Force..." Agent Stevens interjects before the girl can say anything more, her tone clearly a warning of an impending lecture.
That is something that Phoebe is willing to listen to, and after giving Agent Stevens a glance, she announces, "I'm going to my room." And with that she immediately turns to head out the door, going the same way that the other two came from.
Frowning in discomfort and embarrassment, Agent Stevens moves to follow her as she says, "That's probably a good idea." The two of them definitely have some talking to do, oh yes.

Lyssa didn't wait a second later than when they turned to leave. She grabbed Warren's uninjured hand and his cheek. She brought herself close to him to make sure it was only her he saw and tried to keep his head from turning to them. “She's not worth it. They're not worth it.” She told him adamantly, though quietly. This is a conversation just between them. “You'd only be making trouble for yourself.” She knew what he'd do, it involved violence and someone would have been hurt. She didn't know the extent of Phoebe's telekinesis, but she didn't want to take any chances that he would be harmed before he could do anything.
“You're better than her, you know that. What she said was rude, uncalled for, and absolutely callous. You didn't deserve that. She had no right to invade your mind and then turn around act react like that, no matter how young she is.” That child did need to learn some manners. Warren was an adult, he was rather set in his ways, but she had expected that Phoebe would have at least understood after his words and if she'd read her thoughts...but apparently that wasn't so. She frowned.
“You'd end up being the one the most consequences fell on, and that wouldn't be fair after all of this.” She looked into his eyes. “Don't give her the pleasure of a reaction any longer. She doesn't deserve it.”

Lyssa was right to preempt his hostility, His thought process went very violent, very quickly. His dead eyes harsh, "every time someone learns a lesson its worth it. No matter their Postion" One thing that got under warren's skin was people getting away with things. Be it moral or Law. Though sometimes moral wrongs had to be crossed to uphold or protect the law. Killing was a prime example.
He Looked at her, Really wanting to just completely rip the small child to shreds of tattered blood stains. He looked at his hand, wanting to punch a wall as well.
