This mission in particular had to be one of the most challenging, daring and foolhardy that she had ever set out to complete. Now that the weeks had drifted into months and her preparations were nothing short of perfection, it seemed all too obtainable. Her ability was one that she could greatly use to her advantage, though the pain each transformation and manipulation promised did weigh on her more and more as time decreased. The redhead had adorned several layers of clothing, the outmost shell being a janitorial uniform required for all maintenance members circling around the preeminent Lexcorp. Her form had been modified and she had kept up this act for a majority of the day. Her muscles tensed and spasmed occasionally from such a demanding transformation. Though she moved through the mapped out rotation, religiously following the schedule as if she were a simple worker going through their everyday motions.
Her watch emitted a brief alarm and a smile twitched onto her newfound face. Her employer’s endless research and dedication to this cause had provided her with the next series of instructions. This would be the most difficult part considering the brief time she was provided for such a modification. She could transform and mold her body to resemble one identical to Lex Luthor after weeks of pain and practice. Though it didn’t stop there. Where her appearance was essential to bypass the security measures, an alteration to her DNA was an added requirement. The eager shapeshifter didn’t as much as need an image for reference to replicate details so fine as the compilation of hues in his eyes. It was safe to say she knew every inch of the man’s body.
As she pushed her janitorial cart toward this significant elevator, the transformation had begun. When she had attempted the change yesterday it took her a period of five minutes and thirty-seven seconds to fully modify her image, structure and DNA to those of Mr. Luthor – and that still wasn’t quick enough by her employer’s standards. She would occasionally steal glances at her watched, the minutes passing by so quickly that she could have sworn they were seconds. An arduous four minutes and thirteen seconds later she had completed the task to perfection. A thin layer of sweat covered her body from the strain as she rummaged through the cart for the bag she had effectively stowed within the contents. Stripping out of the uniform there was a much more refined ensemble underneath, slightly wrinkled. Abandoning the pushcart in the corridor, she prayed for just a few more minutes of solitude.
The anteroom was so sickeningly silent that she was convinced she could hear her own rapidly repeating thoughts racing through her head. Of course, they had planned it that way. Averaging and analyzing the activity in the hall over the past few months, it was almost certain she had at least ten minutes before she was joined by another face, if at all. Her replicated hands tapped against the thick material of the empty bag as she did a hasty self-check - just to make sure that everything felt right before she moved to complete the rest of this task.
Her heart was pounding from the adrenaline as a result of her circumstance. She next had to pass the series of extensive security patterns that she would need to bypass as Lex Luthor. Rolling her shoulders and wiping her sweaty palms once on the material of her pants, she pressed her Lex-like thumb to the designated pad. With the audible voice confirming she had passed and a camera ejected from its resting position. Linsey couldn’t help but smirk before directing her posture to insure she stood eyelevel with the next security measure. She waited with a baited breath as it processed but finally confirmed that she was exactly who she needed to be.
The elevator doors flew open and she stepped inside, all smiles as she was propelled upward, directly into Lex Luthor’s office.

The elevator itself was well shielded on all sides, covered, in the middle of the building, there were no buttons on the wall visible, the interior was polished, a white glassy sheen of a surface that seemed to have come from the future itself, the personal taste of Lex Luthor tended surprisingly towards the minimalistic, parts of the wall appeared to turn into lights, subdued screens that cleared as information arose. Stock reports played on one part of the clean white wall, a series of news reports and pieces of financial data. It seemed that Lex Luthor never stopped, and upon reading the DNA of its occupant, the elevator moved to pre-set infomatics, although nothing seemed to stand out. The data itself did not seem particularly well organized, just a mess of facts, paragraphs, a constant bombardment of data. The elevator didn't seem to move much at all, although the shift of weight suggested a minor bit of acceleration, even if it was subtle, the comfortable glow on the inside insulating from the outside world. A burnished and polished cocoon of glowing white light.
It didn't seem that the elevator was moving until the walls starting to fall away, the various infomatics disappearing one after another as the ground seemed to raise and Linsey found herself . . . somewhere. In the middle of Lex Luthor's office perhaps, although it certainly wasn't anything expected. For one thing, the office itself was exceedingly large, it appeared to take up a significant amount of the floor, three sides of the room were taken up by windows, bright outdoor lights showing the entirety of the Metropolis skyline, the Daily Planet building central to it, the bay blue and lovely in the sunny day.
The floor and the ceiling seemed to be made up of the same stuff as the walls of the elevator, diffuse light, white glass panels on floor and ceiling and one of the four walls, what appeared to be a glass and brushed metal desk at one end of the office. . . and nothing else. The great nerve center of one of the largest multinational corporations on the planet, to call it spartan would be a misnomer, certainly ascetic monks would find the interior of Lex Luthor's office to be a little sparse, and certainly the office made industrial clean rooms look a little too cluttered. She was in the office, but what now? There didn't seem to be much to do in it.
Not to mention, the elevator had seemed to entirely disappear, and there didn't seem to be a door out of the office, just the paneled wall away from the windows and the desk, an empty desk with no apparent drawers, although closer inspection did find some panels in the metal portion of the desk, maybe those were drawers? They seemed to have glass portions of it, perhaps that's where the feedback system would be. Something to open the drawers? The lights seemed to grow slightly brighter wherever Linsey walked, though, so perhaps the office was responding to her presence.
There was no sound coming from the outside, however. The room appeared to be entirely soundproofed, helicopters flew in the distance, along with a blue streak that might have been a bird. Or a plane of some sort. One of the helicopters appeared to be approaching the building, but considering the amount of air traffic, it was hard to tell. Some of the floor and ceiling panels near the edge of the office appeared to be changing shape, however, changing the shape of the fourth wall to make what appeared to be a closet . . . or perhaps a doorway.

Linsey stepped into the brilliant, white room. With a futuristic feel and a minimalistic style, with a quick glance over she easily observed any notable features that the room possessed. In fact, a frown played on Lex Luthor’s strong features as she continued to move forward slowly. There was an obvious absence of most items that might occupy an ideal office space with the exception of the sleek, centered desk. Her observations were increasingly frustrating. They should have prepared for such a circumstance. Did they really expect for filing cabinets bursting full of forms, files and papers that she could return with to her employer? This was Lex Luthor they were speaking of, man of the future. It was a reckless idea that was quickly dismissed as she closed the distance between herself and the desk.
Brow furrowed, she looked upward at the lighting – which seemed to vary with her every move. Setting her bag down on the surface of the desk, she turned in a slow circle as if to fully examine every last consistent detail of the room. Her time was sparse and the shapeshifter felt as though she had wasted far too much of it already. With another quick glance at her watch, she ripped open the bag in attempt to proceed with her mission.
Within the contents of the bag was technology that had been difficult enough for Cobblepott’s team to develop. With the intent of bugging the office for her employers use and benefit, the collection of cameras had been confined to a unit so small that it could fit within the head of a tac. While it was nothing compared to the technological capacity that Lexcorp generated, it had been created with endless funds and arguably futuristic equipment. She looked once more at her options for placement. With nothing but stark white wall and windows, she quickly narrowed her options to the desk alone. Linsey quickly began to attach the first of many to the underside of his desk. The video would be useless, but the promising audio it might capture could be something.
Even then, there was no guarantee these cameras would work. She had her doubts after the research she had put into the building. However, she knew it was not only an attempt to peak into the world of Lex Luthor, but more of a sign reading loud and clear that someone had been there. The building that was practically years in the future would have a method for identifying the bug. Even if not right away, the contrasting device would soon be spotted if not almost rejected. Despite her voice concerns, it had been initiated. Feeling as though she had wasted more than enough time securing just once device, she tossed the rest in the bag carelessly.
Her watch signaled the first of three programmed alarms, informing her that her time was even sparser than she had assumed. But that was the least of her concerns. The elevator had vanished and she was unsure how she might go about retrieving it. Her chest grew tight as she pushed the concern out of her head for the time being.
Still hovering near the desk, she waved her hand in front of the panels of what she assumed to be drawers. Nothing happened. The aggravated Linsey then moved to tap on each surface in hopes she might trigger some kind of helpful response. It was peculiar and undetermined, but she opened her mouth to speak, Lex Luthor’s smooth voice leaving her lips. “Voice command.” She paused, waiting to see if that may trigger anything within the room. It was seemingly alive with its ever-changing responses – though she was oblivious when it came to its operation.

The bug seemed to be placed carefully and easily enough, auditory, it stuck into place easily enough, though what good it would do was hard to tell. The UI was different than what she'd trained for in that hidden bit of LexCorp technology, it looked the same, which meant that the room would change based on the commands and based on interface. There was a pleasant tone that came on when she asked for her voice command. Yes, it was receptive, but was it the same? Normally by now one of the walls would show a panel to set up the protocols, or a master panel that would be on the desk, but there didn't appear to be any. It wasn't like the LexPod at all, really.
As she tapped the drawer a few times, one of them opened, revealing what appeared to be a gun and a small penlike device. The doors began to open across the room as a visible face of Lex Luthor appeared, behind a stream of holographic displays, looking down at what looked to be a LexTablet as he swiped and interacted with the material there, he didn't seem to have seen that his office was occupied yet, and he had not stepped out of the elevator.

As the drawer transitioned open, Linsey flinched slightly. The two items that sat on the sleek surface before her were drastically different, but it didn’t take her long to take the gun in her hand and place it into the back pocket of the tailored pants. The room seemed to transform before her very eyes, though she was unsure of what advantage to take. Taking the pen-like device in her hand, she turned it over to examine it, nearly forgetting about the command she had failed to give.
As the doors across the room opened, there stood the true Lex Luthor, eyes glued to a tablet. She knew there was little time. She had gotten careless with her time as now she was presented with the man that she was disguised as.
“Elevator to the ground floor.” She attempted hastily, in hopes that the door may shut just as quickly as it had opened. Her time was now completely absent. She needed to find a way out of the office, though it seemed as though the only true exit was being blocked. Her heart pounded quickly as she grinded her teeth, rapidly tapping on all of the drawer-like items in hopes of finding something. Then again, there was the gun. Though who in the world might be as bold to fire shots at Lex Luthor? Hardly. Though her increasing panic made the option seem all the more tempting.
She stepped back from the desk for a moment, mouth open as if she prepared to say something but couldn’t quite decide on what. Something she had touched triggered a new reaction from the room. A fireplace and stylish sofa emerged from what appeared to be thin air as the room transitioned. Finally, as she was beginning to get a vague feel for the room, she spoke once more. “LexPod blueprints.”

The elevator opened for just a moment, before starting to close again. Lex Luthor's face shot up as he heard his voice come from the room, a glance at the situation as confusion seemed to set in on his face, and perhaps fascination, although his face was almost immediately hidden from view as the elevator closed again. There was a moment of time now, maybe not much more than that.
The Gun and the other device in her hand, the second device, on closer look, was not in fact a pen, but something slightly bulkier, with a button on the back and a few on the side. It looked sleek, but not with the sleekness of the interior of the office. Perhaps a device of another sort, it certainly was heavy and looked rugged enough. There didn't seem to be a lot of moving parts on the outside, although there was a few odd speaker looking things on the side and end.
The gun itself was much more comfortable in Linsey's hand, a green light shone on the top of it as she took it into her hand, the metal of the handle slightly warm and electric as it settled into place, it slipped back into place easily enough.
The last command, however, gave her exactly what she wanted. A hovering image of a breakdown of blueprints, the complete LexPod hovered in scale in front of her eyes, and then began to dismantle itself into the component parts. A 3 dimensional blueprint that broke apart and hovered, showing how everything fit together.
A security prompt came up a moment later, "Please Enter Code Now: | " The hovering prompt stood in front of Linsey's face, the calm voice of the computer reading the prompt. The colors inside the office turned reddish as the windows began to dim. The room was getting darker, the blueprints had disappeared and it looked like the elevator was moving again, slowly opening as Lex Luthor's face was visible, confused, but confident as he stood still. The elevator began to dismantle itself around him, dressed in suit and placing the LexPad carefully into a slot that appeared in the wall, he looked up at Linsey for a moment, lips pursing, eyes widely open as he looked her up and down.
He casually and carefully put his hands together, lightly twisting the ring on his finger in a sort of offhanded way, a comforting habit that seemed to be almost subconscious.
"Beautiful" He said. And she was. She was absolutely beautiful, that perfectly formed skull, those gorgeous and piercing eyes that betrayed a deeper intelligence, vast yet also fiery. The strength of the arms, the position of her shoulder, the posture of rigid defiance and pride. . . Perfection itself. Lex Luthor smiled as he said "Absolutely Beautiful"
