It had not been the simplest of task, but he had been bored and feeling like a puzzle. He suspected the shorter man to be a tad bit angry with him, even though he had not stolen anything. A fun activity between friends! In other words, Edward had hacked into the Penguin’s security system, learned his guards’ routine and found his personal calendar to slip pass the multiple locked doors and gun men. The prize? Penguin’s office!
He had his expensive Italian shoes on top of the heavy oak wood of the desk, leaning back in the comfortable office chair as if he were the king of this criminal empire. He could have explored through the drawers and books for hidden trinkets or locked safe, but again, he had not come here to steal. Instead, he sat causally with his phone in hand playing candy crush. His features looked focus under his purple mask and green bowler cap as he tried to pass a difficult level. He briefly glanced at the clock. He should be arriving in three…two…one…
The double doors opened wide with the Penguin and his entourage. Edward did not look up. He continued fiddling on his phone and light heartedly said, “Hello, Ozzy, I hope you don’t mind. I saw you had a break in your schedule, and I decided to make my own appointment.” He smirked.

Oswald stopped in the doorway. Given the city's plans to include the land the club what on in their Arkham City he had been in a foul mood for weeks, Edward letting himself in did not help improve things. Normally he would put on his polite face, make some joke, play the act, today he was trying to decide if he could be bothered to put on the act but they were in private and it wasn't like Edward didn't know what Oswald could be like.
Oswald's frown deepens and he gestures for his men to stay by the door as he continues on inside and heads for the liqueur cabinet, taking a decanter of scotch only to pause and shoot Edward a look. He couldn't trust that the man hadn't tampered with anything. He snaps his fingers at one of his goons "Get another bottle" he orders, the goon quickly jumping in to action, more than happy to get out of the way for a few minutes.
For a few seconds Oswald just watches Edward closely, judging, calculating, resisting the urge to throw the man out of his chair, anyone else would get more than a passing consideration to shooting them but Edward was lucky they had a mostly positive history even if he had been trying Oswald's patience sometimes. Finally he actually speaks to the intruder "What do you want, Edward? I have other plans today" straight down to business.

The game on his cell phone made a sound, like crumbling bricks. He frowned as the Try Again button appeared on the screen. He hated losing any game, and while he felt an urge to click the try again button until he won, Oswald had finally decided to make an appearance for a much larger game. He snapped the phone off, sliding it into his green jacket before he started to rock slightly in the large comfortable chair. He let out a light laugh at the order of a new bottle. “Come now, Ozzy, we’re friends. It’s almost insulting you think I would drug you in your own establishment. Please do hold me to a higher standard,” he gave a huge grin that could easily be compared to the Cheshire Cat. It appeared, however, that he had caught Oswald at a bad time. It became quite clear the man found himself in a terrible mood. His curiosity started to run away with him as he wondered over the possible reason why. He would have to reach out to his sources to find the answer at a later date. “You sound rather chipper today,” he noted, still planted in his chair. “Have you ever thought I only wished to converse with a somewhat intelligent mind like my own?” he asked, casually. While of course, Edward had come for a reason, he thought Oswald would appreciate his company.

Oswald squinted at the phone when it made a noise but it meant very little to the Penguin. Without the possibility of a cash incentive Oswald found it very difficult to hold an interest in games for long, at least with gambling there was something, other games just felt like a distraction when he had so much else to do, of course Oswald was also not a fan of losing so few games survived the initial rage that occurred if Oswald hit a particularly difficult part. His first thought though wasn't that Edward was even playing a game, he assumed it was something more important but evidently not to the meeting as the phone went away.
There was a look of skepticism at Edward's first comment "You've drugged others in my establishment" Ozzy points out with a dry tone, he even paid Oswald to happily look the other way. Still his paranoia seems to be put aside with Edward's words even if they're not actually denying anything. A shake of the head and Oswald even takes his eyes off the Riddler for a moment while he reaches in to his pocket for the case which normally holds his cigarettes "The tools that must be wielded Eddie" The less formal nickname was probably a good sign. His other hand automatically goes for his lighter until he sees the case is actually empty and snaps it shut again with an irritated sigh. It shouldn't have been unexpected, he knew he was out he'd just forgotten, with all that was going on lately it was becoming an unfortunately common occurrence and his nearest supply was in one of his desk draws with Edward right next to it.
The 'chipper' comment earns a level stare but there was a veiled compliment to soothed things even if Oswald didn't believe a word of it "A social call?" Skeptical but he didn't sound like he was particular bothered with questioning the motives, Edward would want something and he'd get to it soon enough. Oswald seemed to let it go as he resisted the urge to sigh again and headed for his desk, tossing down the empty cigarette case on it shortly followed by his hat neatly landing on a marble eagle statue that he kept on his desk partly because he liked it, partly because it cost several thousand dollars but mostly because it was a good place to leave his hat. He sat in one of the chairs across from Edward, comfortably in charge of his office even if he wasn't in the big chair. He did keep his arms off of the arms of his chair mind, he knew what all the tricks in his office furniture. His hands instead played with the birds head handle of his umbrella. There's a notable pause before he speaks up again "Do you know the last time someone just popped round for a chat?" There's a reason for that skepticism.
