Ok so he had taken to the streets early on in Bludhaven to do a once over. Dick had felt the need to do so regardless of Kory's offer to do so. It was his city after all and responsibility to do so as the protector of Bludhaven. Nightwing couldn't shirk off his responsibilities disspite having a "family meeting" to attend to.
Kory had pestered him to no end that he needed to spend more time with his "family". The term was used loosely considering it was the extended 'family' that not everyone knew about. As in the Bat-family.
Roy had pokes and taunted all patrol and all day leading up to this evenings events. Some what even question what was to go on. He just liked getting a reaction out of Dick. Though had little success. besides the fact that Dick had ditched him with no more than a 'see you later'.
And now he was drove into the looming cave entrance ahead, hidden away from all the world to see. Nightwing made an agreement to this over a week ago. He promised Tim, he would show up. It had been along time since the brothers had hung out. Though this was more than the brothers....Tim had invited Bruce and Barbara as well.
Barbara was tolerable. Sure they had a sour history, though it was easy to settle into old taunting and joking with each other. They seemed to have a silent agreement between themselves over burning the hatchet. As for Bruce....
This was going to be an interesting night. There was still a bit of tension between the two from years past decisions made. And now the current events with the Outsiders. They worked under Batman's guidance on mission and such. Though current events had led Nightwing to do a few lone vigilante actions in Gotham City. Which was not always all that welcome under his mentor's city. Even if he was related.
The motorcycle's roaring engine was silenced as he came to a stop not far from the Batmobile. That meant Bruce was already in attendance. Dick half expected Bruce to pull the old 'there's business to attend to' card. Maybe this meant something to Bruce?
Nah.
Dick wouldn't over think things. No point. All new knew was he hadn't seen his little brother for a while. And a training session should be scheduled in the near future. After all, Tim being a part of the Titans was in some ways a Robin following in the footsteps of past Robins before him. Not that Dick would discourage Tim from going out on his own. He was still a kid. That and the tension in the family would be overbearing if Dick was that much of an influence on Tim. Which he wasn't. Yet still. There was that lingering feeling that Bruce may be protecting Tim from such events.
So, there stood Nightwing in the bat cave...almost like old times.
He had a change of cloths in the one saddle bag of the motorcycle for when they settled in up stairs.
Dick walked up toward the computer system. Nothing every seems to change besides the computer programs and the security in this place.
He was half tempted to do some digging while he was waiting for anyone else to show up.

Tim quickly looked down at his watch as a beep sounded through the comm in his ear telling him someone had just entered the Batcave.
"Right on time," Tim muttered to himself and smiled. He closed his laptop and stood up, speed walking towards the study.
He had invited the whole family to come to the cave that night for some fun. He wasn't quite sure what yet, but they would find something. He knew there would be some drama, but he missed them all and that was unavoidable. Tim was able to pull the guilt card on Dick and Barbara, and to his surprise, Bruce didn't seem totally against it. In many ways they were all such mentors to him, not just family. Bruce was an example of what hard work and dedication can get you (but they all did) and how you could chchange your tragedy into something truly helpful and amazing. Barbara showed him that you didn't need your body to be a great crime fighter, and that brain over brawn is true. Dick... He seemed to be a combination of all those things, but one more. He showed Tim that no matter how much drama, tragedy, and heartbreak was in your life, family was always there for you and you could still be happy. They also showed him that you don't need to be blood to be family.
Tim reached the study and quickly opened the grandfather clock entrance, continuing on to the cave quietly. He saw Dick leaning over the computer console and quickly quipped.
"Good luck with that. Barbara have been working on new levels of security and encryption. On that note, I got a text from Barb a little while ago saying she was on her way. She'll be here any minute now, by my calculations." Tim said. He ran down the rest of the stairs before stopping and motioning towards Dick's motorcycle. "I'm surprised you made it here on that clunker. You really should let me take a look at it, maybe make a few improvements." Tim said with a chuckle, before looking at Dick seriously. "Really. Thanks. Lot for coming. It means a lot. I've missed you, brother," Tim said wth a little smile."Bruce should be down any second now too, he was just finishing a few things upstairs, I think."
OOC: sorry for no pretty colors and any spelling/grammar mistakes. I'm on mobile.

"You forget that you're speaking to a master hacker," Dick said jokingly in return to his little brothers comment.
Dick knew how to program, though he may not be up to Barbara's level, he was still able to do quite a good amount more than Tim on some levels. Though the kid was learning fast.
Nodding at Tim's mention of Barbara being on her way. It had been a while since he had an encounter with the Oracle, let alone visiting Barbara.
"Improvements? I just tuned it up. Your bike would look like a tricycle against mine," Dick commented.
It was all in fun. After all Tim should know that Dick spent a lot of time working on his bike. He never let anyone else handle it. And he'd rather keep it that way.
"I kept my word. I wasn't about to turn my back on my little brother," Dick replied. "So I'm assuming Bruce has put you through your paces late out in the mission field?"
He thought he'd catch up a bit while they had the moment to speak.

"You forget that you're speaking to a master hacker,"
"Yeah, but with Barbara's help I'll be passing you soon. I give it a year, max." Tim teased with a smile. He knew his comment about the bike would get to him a bit.
"Improvements? I just tuned it up. Your bike would look like a tricycle against mine," Nightwing commented.
If he was being honest, Dick's motorcycle was drool worthy. Especially compared to his. Not that his bike was bad, it was really good, but it paled in comparison to his brother's. That thing was his baby.
"Atleast I have a bike as Robin, all you got was boy shorts and a passenger-side seat in a disco car," Tim said with a smile, continuing to patronize his brother.
"So I'm assuming Bruce has put you through your paces late out in the mission field?" Dick said.
"More than ever, it feels like," Tim said with a sigh. "I'm given a strict plan for every encounter, and if I deviate from the plan at all, it's not patrol for two nights. I know it's to train me and keep me safe, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't making me better, but it isn't much fun. I mean, not that being Robin is supposed to be fun, it's my duty to do this, but, you know. How am I supposed to learn to think on my feet if I'm not allowed to try? He's also cutting my time with the Titans, I'm rarely with them anymore. Our nightly routine is some H.I.I.T. two hours, then patrol from 9 - 2, then I come back, get a couple hours of sleep while Bruce finishes patrolling, and then we're up and at it again at 5, for more training before school. It's really intense, did he do the same with you?" Tim asked.

It had been a cramped drive, yet, whenever Barbara insists on driving without her computers, she ended up in a 1981 Volkswagen Beetle. It was pretty much all caved out to accomodate for her wheelchair, installed different ramps, machinery, light blue in color. The only reason she went through all the trouble was because it reminded her of simpler times. Not when she had the use of her legs, but of the times when she use to be excited to wake up to BEEB's emails and IM's. Now that Ted Kord had decided to go back into the business.
The blue VW beetle had rolled up into the cave, through the waterfall. It was probably the least intimidating vehicle to ever drive into the Batcave, with the least horsepower; but it was more of a momento then an actual vehicle. The hatchback opened up, and a ramp slid out slowly with a mechanical sound. Out came the Hacker known as Oracle. She looked at the two, standing around in their civies, it had been a long time since she's seen them in anything but costume.
Hearing the bat guys bicker about frivolous boy things. Well, the last bit she heard about their vehicluar debates and work out regimes, it was useless to her, and she felt they were making a mountain out of a mole hill.
"Ladies please, your dresses are both very pretty. Now why don't we get this meeting under way?"
Looking at Dick warmed her heart, it always did, though she had to keep those deep seeded feelings aside, and continue on to learn to be nothing more than a friend. She still offered him a smile, yet directed more of her attention to Tim. He was the one to contact her after all, and even if she begrudgingly accepted the invitation, she was happy to be in the cave again. "Where's Bruce? Not joining us tonight, as usual?"

Bruce quietly descended down the stairs of the Batcave. It had been a quiet patrol tonight - and thankfully he had called it off early. There was no batsuit, no Batman. Only Bruce Wayne and a tanktop as came down to meet his family. Tim had asked that they all get together tonight and Bruce wasn't all that against it. He thought it might help strengthen their teamwork even further if they were able to enjoy a night off once and a while. Ace followed his master in tow as he walked up to the trio, clearing his throat and crossing his arms.
"Dick, Barbara. Thank you for coming." He told them with a nod. They looked well - that was all that mattered. He would ignore the obvious tension growing between him and Dick for Tim's sake. Bringing them together was the boy's idea after all and he wasn't going to ruin the night because of the rough history between him and his ex-protege. Was he still mad about Dick leaving him? Yes. But he was a proud father of what his boy was becoming. A leader. Even if Dick had been doing some solo work in his city there was no denying the approval behind his stone-faced gaze.
His eyes glanced from each of the three - observing them separately. While he was ultimately glad Barbara had found use in her paralyzation there was no denying the bits of guilt left. She had lost her life as Batgirl to a monster he felt that he had created. It was perhaps what made Bruce all the more silent between the three of them. Not that he was one to be big on conversation anyway. "I trust you've got plans for us, Tim?"

"I got my own bike by the time I was with the Titans. How do you think I got around," Dick replied half jokingly.
It was relaxing to be joking around like this with his brother. This is the kind of night off he needed. Even if it was only going to be for a couple of hours. It was for the best to just chillax with the family.
Listening to Tim describe his daily work and training with Bruce, it should like Bruce was really trying to keep Tim in line. Almost not wanting him to get the chance to think for himself. At least on the stance of having a bit of freedom. It was important to think for yourself of course. If you followed rules all the time and instruction, it could leave you in a binding situation if you don't know what to do next.
Though Dick had his theory as to why Bruce might be being so restrictive and controlling. History could repeat itself it seemed. And Bruce looked to be trying to keep himself from losing this Robin.
"Can't say he never put me through a training schedule like that. Though the following formation plan...I at least was given a chance at time to break away from that. Seems to be setting more lines for you to follow?" Dick wasn't all that surprised. Though was Bruce doing this to protect Tim or himself? "What do you say to scheduling a training, possible patrolling with me in the near future? That will keep you on your toes." Dick smiled at the youngest bat-family member. He knew Tim would go for that idea. Bruce...well he could find away to convince him.
There was an intruding voice that broke in between the two. Dick turned to see Barbara wheeling towards them. He comment not going unheard as Dick gave a slight laugh over the matter.
"If we were talking about computers, you'd have no problem with that," Dick teased as he smiled at her. He knew that was more of Barbara's interest. She never seemed to be one to mess around with the vehicles the bat-family work with, let along with weaponry. Dick looked back towards Tim as Barbara asked the question that was weighing on everyone's minds who had come for this gathering.
And just as they were starting to redirect the conversation as to where their mentor might be, it seemed he must have heard them all down in the bat-cave. Highly doubt that.
"It's like Beetlejuice," Dick commented as their mentor appeared after they all said his name. Whether or not Tim or Bruce would either understand the comment (if Bruce had happened to here him). He figured Barbara would get the reference to the character who appeared when his name was mentioned three times.
"Bruce," Dick replied, not really letting anyone be able to get a read on his emotion toward seeing Bruce. The idea to no show how icy he might have been had it only been Bruce and himself in the room. No point in starting anything.

"I assumed you flew around in the fetal postion in Starfire's arms." Tim teased.
His look turned more serious as they talked about his training regiment. In the back of his head he knew why Bruce was doing it, but that doesn't mean he liked it.
"I think he's trying to avoid another.. accident." Tim said, stumbling on his words. He was going to say 'another Jason' but he didn't want to hit a sore spot. Tim smiled as he heard another voice break through the gloom of the cave.
"Ladies please, your dresses are both very pretty. Now why don't we get this meeting under way?" Barbara said.
"If we were talking about computers, you'd have no problem with that," Dick teased to Barbara. Tim watched them banter while smiling. He knew they had history, but he wasn't about the specifics of what went down. He just knew it didn't end very well. From what Tim had heard, apparently there was a really hateful era of the Batfamily. But this night was supposed to change that, maybe the Batfamily would become more of a... family again. Or maybe Tim just had wishful thinking. Maybe old scars would never heal, but he had to try. Only time would tell.
"Where's Bruce? Not joining us tonight, as usual?" Babs asked. Tim assumed the question was directed to him, so he responded.
"No, actually. He'll be joining us. He'll be down any minute now. Than we'll get started."
Almost immediately after Tim spoke he heard footsteps coming from the stairs. He looked up and smiled at his mentor. He crouched down and scratched Ace, who responded with happy panting, while Bruce addressed Dick and Barbara. Upon hearing his name, Tim gave Ace one last pat on the head and stood up.
"I trust you've got plans for us, Tim?" Bruce said.
"Well, that depends. We've got some new simulations on the Batcomputer, or we could do some sparring if you guys feel like it. But really we could just, bear with me, put the crimefighting thing to the side for a minute, and just have dinner and talk or something. Catch up. Then maybe watch a movie or something. But I don't really care, whatever you guys feel like."

Barbara smiled at Bruce, his entrance was very welcoming, though she couldn’t help but fold her arms, and raise an unimpressed eyebrow; she smirked, and her eyelids were only about half open. She clearly wasn’t happy with the suggestion of a sparring match, as she was too outclassed for the likes of Batman, Nightwing, and Robin. Normal thugs, even trained assassins she could take out, she was even sure she could drop Robin on his inexperienced butt, yet still there was a simple matter that she was confined to a wheelchair. Her movement was limited, and her maneuverability and reach was also restricted. It was a handicap that she wasn’t willing to take hits she couldn’t prevent.
“I’m all for sitting down around a camp fire and singing Kumbaya. I haven’t had a vacation in a long time.” Sarcasm was just a thing that Barbara couldn’t help, if it got a laugh or not. She really just wanted to stay away from the crime fighting bit for a few hours. Once the hacker got back home, she knew she couldn’t help but surf the streets with her digital spy-ware and make sure no crime was untouched. Even if it was just playing catch up.
It was an odd sensation, hearing the voices echo off the cave walls. Their surroundings felt like there was an actual crowd. Like a family.

Robin had ultimately brought suggestions to the table - and of course the young boy had brought up sparring. while Bruce wasn't necessarily against the idea his body was still recovering from last night's patrol. Bandages and bruises lined his folded arms as he stood with the three of them. But when Tim had brought up an idea that was almost foreign to the family an oddly relaxed vibe overcame Bruce. Not that he hadn't taken time off patrol with his family before - but it would be the first time in a long time.
He's done it numerous times with Dick and dare he even think about it..Jason. When either of them had fallen ill to participate in a night's patrol there were a few times that Bruce had ultimately worked through both of the boys and convinced them to take a night off. It was a warming memory, and now that they were all here he saw no reason to relive it.
While sure, he would have regularly taken either of the boys up on their offer - he was taking Barbara into consideration. As unfortunate as it was to think about she had lost her legs and with them went her life as Batgirl. He knew that that life was one the young redhead missed dearly. One that seeing others spar might resurface and taunt her. So ultimately he thought it best that even just for the night and at least in Barbara's presence they hang up the capes. Plus there was no doubt the Dark Knight had been snooping moments prior to entering and had heard little of what Tim had been saying to Dick. Not that the boy was necessarily wrong, but it had made Bruce come to a realization.
That perhaps he was so consumed in his own fear of losing Tim like he did Jason that he had yet to realize how hard he was working the boy. How he had likely made it seem like life was all about the mission. While to Bruce this was true - he didn't want to force it on Tim. Tim was a teenager who wanted to have fun, to socialize, to date, things that Bruce had made him miss out on as his mentor. Such a realization was perhaps a nail in the coffin on his decision. There would be no capes tonight. No masks. Only a family.
"I think a night off without training might do us all some good. Strengthen our bond as a team." He said, agreeing eyes glancing to both Barbara and his young protege. "Plus you've all operated sufficiently this past week. You deserve it."

At Tim's suggestion, it was a rather amusing idea to do come combat. He was up for it. It was always entertaining to go up against those in the Bat-family.
Though at Barbara's words he hadn't thought of it in that way. Barbara would be left out of all of it and it would be like rubbing salt in the wound over a matter like that. Or has she had put it to him at one point the elephant in the room situation. The wheelchair was noticeable. Barbara carried herself with such confidence sometime you could almost forget her disability. Almost besides the fact of seeing her in the chair.
"I'm game for anything," Dick replied to Tim.
Bruce's words rang in soon after. Strength their bonds...geez he wondered who Bruce was talking to.
Dick couldn't help but to notice that Bruce avoided eye contact with him. At that, Dick subtly changed his stance to now stand there with his arm crossed loosely. He may have been slightly annoyed the fact that Bruce was blatantly avoiding him in ways. Ways that might go unnoticed by the other two, but were speaking clearly in his mind.
Sure they had their problems. Yet, here stood Dick joining in on this 'family' night. Maybe he had been at first just doing it for Tim. Though now he was getting a chance to see just how irritating he was being in the presents of Bruce and the rest of his team. Guess that excludes Dick then.

Tim smiled as everyone agreed to sitting around and just talking and catching up. That's what he personally wanted, but he wasn't sure how Dick and especially Bruce would feel about it. Of course he took Barbara into consideration, but he thought if they ended up having to do some training, Barbara could come up with some really interesting and challenging sims for them.
"Great." Tim said. "It'll be nice for all to be together and talking again. Where do you guys want to hang out? We've got the dining room, lounge, screening room, etc."
His smile grew wider as Bruce mentioned taking a night off, and how well he'd been doing. It was nice to get some recognition for his work, and Tim was sure Oracle felt the same. He glanced over and made eye contact with Dick, kind of saying sorry with his eyes and facial expressions. Hopefully he and Bruce would get over their battle for at least tonight so they could all have a good time. Tim didn't want to feel like he was playing referee all night. He thought out his words before speaking.
"I've been following Bludhaven news recently, Dick. You've been putting away some pretty big criminals. You're doing great." Tim said, trying to play both sides.

The Redhead wheeled herself in closer to the "Bat Boys." Not that she wanted to feel more apart of the family, but she had the feeling like they weren't going to stay in the cave for very long after they figured out what to do. "I'm down for whatever as well." Barbara smiled in agreement with Dick, "As long as we don't play Twister." She scoffed, probably at herself, as she was usually the expense of her own jokes. Barbara didn't mind if no one laughed, she was in the Batcave after all; just getting it off her chest was good enough for her.
As the Oracle came in closer to Bruce, she couldn't help but wonder who installed the ramps to make the Batcave wheelchair friendly. It could have been Alfred, or maybe Tim suggested it. But it was probably Bruce. Always more thoughtful than he ever made out to be.
"Maybe we should just move out of the cave first? The pooping bats and cold air isn't exactly the place I think of when I want to spend quality time."

It seemed everyone was in agreement. There would be no capes tonight, no cowls, no sparring, only the people he had come to accept as family. Although Bruce preferred to let them settle the night's arrangements. It wasn't that he had no concept of fun as many were lead to believe. Moreso the fact that he'd forgotten what such places like Wayne Manor had to offer. It was a lively estate and at a time a playground for Bruce to run around in before he had lost his parents. Before it was blanketed silence at the loss of two of it's occupants and how they had left one behind.
Although relatively silent himself the Dark Knight's hand rose to his chin in thought. It had seemed like the rest of the family had come to a stalemate and thus he was left to come up with something they could do out of memory. "I believe Alfred has dinner cooking upstairs." He informed the trio, arms firmly crossed as he looked up the stairway that ascended from the Batcave to the manor. "And there's likely some movies upstairs that we could dig through." He spoke - turning on his heel to walk the thin railways towards the interior of the manor as Ace followed closely behind.
He took his exit from the dark and gloomy cave into the glowing warmth of the manor's library above. The two areas were almost complete contrasts of one another and closely resembled the men who dwelled within them. Both Bruce Wayne and the Batman had parts of the manor that complimented their personality. It seemed as though his ascension to the manor was just in time however as a knock rang against the large wooden doors in the entrance hall. Instantly Ace stood guard - barks sounding from the canine to indicate the presence of a visitor at the door.
One who's plans with him he'd shamefully nearly forgotten in the first place. He cleared his throat as he put a calming hand on Ace to hush the dog before turning to look back at the family behind him. Assuming that Alfred had been too busy cooking to hear the loud knock Bruce took it upon himself for once to open the door. And standing outside of it was none other than Selina Kyle.

She'd left him a voicemail at work, considering she was technically working for him. Even if only he, and a few other of his employee's knew. She even had an office in Wayne Towers, despite her rarely occupying it, it was still her own. And now, it seemed he cared to have her over. Not to some dinner downtown, or even to the office, or the penthouse, but his own home. The manor. A place she had been once or twice, invited, of course. She'd asked Alec if he'd mind dropping her off after work, and he'd not minded. She'd neatly changed into leggings and a tunic, shades of black and grey with a pair of calfskin leather boots. The rest of her things were stowed in her slightly larger handbag. Just in case, honestly. She had no idea what to expect of Bruce, especially considering their on-again, off-again meetups. No doubt he was still brooding over her claw-inflicted wound to his ribs. She wasn't going to apologize over that. He'd honestly fully deserved it for going dark on her. Fully deserved.
The ride was quiet, her and Alec making slight conversation through the traffic and en route to the Manor. It was a pretty ride, one she knew rather well considering her family home. Only this time they were headed to the Wayne grounds. As Alec stopped, and was about to get out to open her door, she shook her head, letting herself out and thanking him, knowing he wasn't going to leave until he saw her fully inside the home. Standing outside the vehicle, she took a moment to breath in the clean air, and to eye the huge mansion. One deep breath, and then another, and she waved, before going to knock once, then twice on the massive front door. Hearing a few barks from the other side, she said nothing. And in all honestly, she hadn't been expecting Bruce to answer, and him looking...so casual. Thankfully she had changed from business attire to something a bit more casual. Not quite as casual as ...a tanktop and sweats, but then again, she wasn't in her own home.
Attempting a smile, she greeted him with a brief, "Hello."
