This should be easy. Bite and go. Run and away. Lara had been in more difficult scenarios, but this wasn't the time to low the guard, never low the guard on duty. She wore a GCPD's cop uniform with her black wig and black lens, however it didn't seem that she was wearing fake hair and her eyes had a fake color, she knew how to wear those things by now. The problem was that everyone knew everyone else in here and Lara hadn't had the time to work here so she hadn't had the time to bond with them. So, she had to do this fast, luckily she knew how to run fast.
Lara managed to enter in the building by a vent, the stealth way. Now, she had to go on the right floor where the Evidence Room was. It's unbelievable that she left it at the last mission, Mark was furious but at least he gave to her the opportunity to fix things. Lara looked around, there were policepeople and...they already started to glance at her, suspiciously "Great " Lara thought, sarcastically.
However, she had to keep a cool attitude "Left, left, right" Lara walked the hallways towards the Evidence Room, but she was bothered by those looks because it meant that time was already running out "Here we go!" she thought looking at the door in front of her, the Evidence Room. There was a cop inside and Lara took a little phone from her pocket and called one of her co-workers, after few seconds the phone in the Evidence Room rang, the cop picked it up, nodded and went searching for something in the abyss of the room. This was the time. Lara entered using a pass to open the door and crouched under the desk to hide from the cop, he was giving her the back glancing through some files. Lara passed by the cop, but it was too late, the cop saw her.

The officer that saw the woman in the evidence room didn't exactly notice anything misplaced. He had never seen her before but the GCPD was a fairly big place. Officer Brion smilled and nodded, while walking away. What he didn't notice was the commissioner himself standing outside of the door. Brion stepped out to be introduced to a smiling Commissioner Gordon. "Officer Brion, good to see you." Gordon flashed a smile. To Gordon, he saw a alert about someone entering the evidence room. Someone that wasn't authorized to enter the evidence room.
The GCPD had it's fault but one thing that it did have was a state of the art security system designed by Wayne Tech. The GCPD had friends in high places, as did it's commissioner James Gordon. The man stepped to the side to let Officer Brion pass, drawing his sidearm. Gordon didn't want to alarm anyone to the intruder. Or maybe it was just a glitch in the system. Was it dangerous going in there alone? Yes. It wouldn't take long to notice the commissioner of the police was missing either. The rest would catch on eventually and there was only one exit to the evidence room.
Gordon's hands shook almost steadily, he was nervous but he knew that he could handle this. It wasn't the first time that someone attempted a break in to the evidence room.
He stepped inside, pointing his weapon at the intruder inside.
"I've got to hand it to you, You got this far. You made the mistake of thinking the GCPD security just wasn't good enough. You'd probably be right if Gotham wasn't a psyche ward posing as a city."

Lara noticed everything that was happening, but at the same time she couldn't do much about it. Gordon let the Officer out so they were alone now. Okay, Lara actually could escape from this situation, but she didn't want to hurt the Commissioner because he was one of the good guys, he really was, not just a facade.
So, Lara didn't want to do anything to him, she had to find another way to run away from this situation then. Lara didn't even find the evidence, this was bad, it meant that the General's next decision will be setting everything on fire and Lara couldn't let it happen, she didn't want to let it happen. There were evidences of every kind and if something happened to them then there wouldn't be any justice.
Lara turned and saw the gun in Gordon's hand. She sighed looking down at the gun. During the missions she tried to shush her emotions, but sometimes it was difficult. Lara didn't want to be Gordon's enemy, but the situation was meant that way.
She rose her hands moving her gaze up to Gordon "Commisioner..." Lara started, but it was better going to the point "...let me take what I want, it's better this way" she was trying to help him "If I don't do what I'm supposed to do then it will be worse" Lara opened her hands pointing the Evidence Room. She was already saying too much, but she felt that she needed to warn Gordon.

"Worse? How can it possibly be worse in Gotham?" He asked, keeping his eyes trained on the intruder. For James Gordon, nothing could possibly be worse than what he has already had to deal with. At first glance, what he was dealing with didn't seem like much. Someone disguising themselves as a police officer to steal evidence. It was almost as if it was something out of a comic book, or a movie. It didn't matter if it felt like something that shouldn't happen. It could happen and it was happening. Gordon kept his grip tight on his side arm, stepping closer.
"You know I can't do that. Now put your hands behind your back and slowly get on your knees." Gordon calmly spoke. It was possible that he could be a bit out of his depth here. There is no saying what this woman knew how to do. He had no idea what her skill-set was. It wouldn't matter. If everything managed to go right, well then she'd be in cuffs and interrogated. If things were to get worse like she said though, then Gordon would have to deal with those as events unfolded. He could not, in his right mind just let her get away with this. He was a police officer, it is his sworn duty to protect the law. Stealing from a police evidence lock up is against said law that Gordon holds dear.
"Whatever happens after this point, I can deal with. The GCPD can deal with, Batman can deal with. There has been nothing that can break this city in the past, and in the future others will try. Perhaps like whoever you work for, but we'll defend ourselves and in the end. We will take our city back. Always." Gordon took another step forward.
"Now, hands behind your head. Get on your knees. I will not ask again."

"I love your speeches, really I do" Lara nodded sincerely "But, I'm talking about a more practical problem, here..." she pointed the Evidence Room again, but this time opening her arms too so she could accentuate the gesture. Lara let Gordon come closer, but she was thinking about self-defense. She knew how to take Gordon's gun without hurting him too much. Lara didn't kill so she knew self-defense well. But, again, she didn't want to do anything to Jim.
So, with a noisy sigh, Lara knelt down looking at the gun "I'm not one of the bad guys, I'm trying to help you here..." Lara gave another look to the evidences in the room, but not to search for what she came for, but to estimate the damage in case the General decided to set the Evidence Room on fire "Please, Commissioner..." Lara stared at him "...please" Lara didn't want to be the cause of criminals on the loose.
"You want to know how could it be worse..." Lara sighed "...don't you know that when someone says it in a movie then something worse happens...?!" while saying this she kept thinking "dontsethisplaceonfire" she put her hands behind her head looking at Jim "What if criminals were free because of lack of evidence?" she was saying too much, but really, she didn't want to help the criminals so she had to warn Gordon somehow.
"Bend his wrist and take the gun, then run as fast as you can, or better, use Gordon as a hostage for a while, just running can't help much in a place full of policepeople" one part of Lara thought, the trained one, the emotionless one, the practical one. But, the part of Lara who made her kneel couldn't agree with that. She wasn't going to hurt Gordon even if she could.

Gordon sighed, he knew he wouldn't be able to let her go. It just wasn't who he was. Whatever happened, whatever was to come he'd have to fight against it. He'd have to give it his all and do his damnedest to try and repel whatever was coming. That's what being the Police Commissioner was all about. He was sworn to protect and serve. No matter what happened, he had to keep his cool to protect and uphold the law. "All of the evidence in here is documented and accounted for. I do not know who you work for, but whoever it is must have very low faith in the GCPD." What Gordon was saying was probably true. He knew there were people that were more powerful, and more well trained than him and his officers but sometimes people did tend to underestimate the police. Even if there were a number of corrupt officers still, there was also a equally large number of clean GCPD officers that would do anything to fight for their city.
"I know you're thinking of a way to disarm me, a way to escape. I've ran into your type before. The type that think they can save a man like me by trying to get me to step out of the way. Well let me clue you in on something. Men like me? We'll never give up. We'll never be fooled about what the greater good is. Deep down we know." Gordon felt like he was telling the lady too many speeches. He was fond of his beliefs and was behind them 100%. He had to do what was needed to keep Gotham safe.
"Now put your hands behind your back. If you refuse to comply again, I will shoot" Gordon asked again, he knew he could not let her go.
The man took one hand from his service weapon, using it to reach for his radio. "This is Commissioner Gordon, we have an intruder in the evidence room." He knew he had to inform the rest of the department about what was going on. He would never forgive himself if she managed to escape.
"Now that I've done that. You know that I mean what I say."

Lara believed in what she did too. This was an impasse "Not really an impasse, now it's the moment Lara! Take that gun!" yes, she had to do it. Lara moved quickly and tried to take the gun from Gordon when he spoke to the radio. She knew how to do this so the movements were fluent. But, someone threw something in the Evidence Room, someone who closed the door.
After few seconds Lara saw smoke behind Gordon "Commissioner!" she yelled, in that moment the first flames started eating the evidences "This was gonna happen..." Lara whispered with a sigh and stood up searching for a fire-extinguisher, but they were all empty and the room was closed, the anti-fire system wasn't working either "Why is nothing working?! Oh right..." this situation was problematic. The fire was already taking half of the room, it was increasing quickly, perhaps that guy used something fueled to... "Oh no..." Lara opened her eyes wide "...no water! We can't extinguish this fire with water!" Lara warned.
She looked at the fire, the heat was increasing too. Lara looked out of the door hoping to see some cops trying to open it "We are still in here?! What is Mark thinking...?!" she thought feeling betrayed, but there had to be an explanation. Lara looked at Gordon, she was worried about him, she didn't want something happening to him. There were few people like Gordon in Gotham so it was better not lose them.
Lara tried to open the door, but it was no use, the keyhole seemed ruined somehow and the door seemed closed even with a technological system. After all, the evidences had to be burnt. "Watch out!" Lara grabbed Gordon by his arm, pulling him away right before a shelf fell down. They had to get out of here.

Needless to say, Gordon was surprised when the evidence room caught fire. How did someone managed to slip by security that easily? Luckily they were in a building full of cops. Gordon just hoped he'd be able to escape in time. He hoped that his officers would be able to get to the room in time. Gordon holstered his weapon, he no longer needed a weapon. As for who was in the room with him, although she broke the law it was his duty to protect her. It was up to the both of them to work together if needed to escape. This didn't excuse her for breaking the law however. When they got out of this. He would be forced to arrest her.
Gordon knew this room and the entire police station like the back of his hand. He knew that every major room had a fire extinguisher. It was obvious that one fire extinguisher wouldn't be able to put out a flame that spreads as quickly as the flames present in the room. A type of accelerant must be in use. It wouldn't be out of the question since whoever wanted this done wanted to burn evidence and everyone else in the room. Murdering the commissioner of police must not be a big deal to them. Gordon knew that he had enemies but perhaps this went deeper than he originally thought at first.
"There is a fire extinguisher back here. Should be on the far left." Gordon having knowledge of such a thing wasn't out of place. He did help design some of the newer rooms at the GCPD. He slid against the wall, the flames have already engulfed the room. Soon, he could see the fire extinguisher, once in reach the man slammed his elbow into the glass and started to use controlled bursts to keep the fire from reaching him, and the woman.
"Stay hugged to the wall, take controlled breaths. We only have a limited amount of oxygen. We will suffocate if we panic. It's good that I did use the radio. At least they know we're in here." Gordon stated as calmly as possible. He knew that they would be saved soon, and it was good that all of the evidence was backed up. In more places than one.

Lara listened to Gordon and nodded, yes panic couldn't help. Lara let Gordon take care of the fire-extinguisher instead she was trying to call the General using the earpiece that was in her ear. The flames reminded her of Firefly. Damn. Lara moved her head towards the door when someone started kicking it. More than someone, there were like three people trying to open the door, maybe firemen. She hoped so.
The heat was becoming too much even because this room wasn't so big, but Lara had to check if that evidence was gone. At least the fire hadn't been for nothing. Lara passed by Gordon and ran towards the shelf she had been before all of the fire started, but the flames where there too. The evidence was gone, at least that was done.
Suddenly, Lara heard a voice in her ear, it was Mark, he asked what was happening with his flat-soldier-voice "Fire! That's what happening, but nothing must happen to Gordon!" Lara looked at the Commissioner. The General said nothing for a minute but then said that it wasn't his order to set everything on fire.
Lara interrupted the convo when the door opened, some firemen started using the fire-extinguisher. But, Lara used that time to run away. She stormed out of the Evidence Room pushing the firemen from her way out. Lara ran down an hallway, but she wasn't running towards the exit, in fact she was going to the roof, she could escape better from the roof.

James Gordon was truly lucky that he notified the entire Police Station to his presence. The smoke from the fire was not good for his health, but thanks to the Gotham City Fire Department and the quick reaction time from his Officers, the smoke is the only thing he really had to worry about. The fire suppression system just started to work, it is like if someone made sure it would not go off. Along with the Firemen, the fire was quickly put out. Several officers ran to Gordon's side to see if he was alright. Gordon walked out of the room, his white shirt stained by the heavy smoke and fire debris. A coughing fit started to plague the aging police commissioner as he pointed at the fleeing woman.
"She is the cause of this, get after her!" Several officers ran off in pursuit. It was clear that she was heading for the roof. Gordon didn't know if they'd be able to catch her. Perhaps not, she had seemed extremely well trained. It did not seem that she was the reason for the room catching fire though. It had to be someone else she worked for, or with. Whoever it was, Gordon would find out. He'd get to the bottom of this, and whoever was responsible for such an act would be punished by the full extent of the law.
The problem was that any physical evidence would have been destroyed. He didn't even know who the evidence belonged to. Whoever it was must have wanted it gone fairly quickly. If he could find out who this woman worked for, then maybe he'd have a better chance of digging up evidence that wasn't able to be destroyed.
Whoever it was, had Commissioner Gordon's attention now.

The Evidence was gone so everything was alright. Wrong. Everything wasn't alright because she couldn't go on the roof where the big Bat-Signal was "I need another route, now! The one on the roof apparently is blocked!" Lara said apparently to no one, but she was talking with the person in her earpiece.
"Take the elevator, we blocked it so you can use the shaft" Mark said with his always-so-calm tone. Lara ran towards two cops in front of her, but she jumped over a desk and ran towards a hallway that led to an elevator, its door were open, but there was no elevator in the shaft.
Lara observed the shaft, she could climb it. Just a jump, she needed just a long jump. Lara ran faster to take the right speed for the jump, but suddenly two cops grabbed her and so she ended up on the ground hitting the head. A rush of pain punched her head and the adrenaline wasn't helping. The surroundings were spinning.
Lara felt herself lifted up and dragged somewhere....a small room with a table and two chairs, there was a mirror. The Interrogation Room. Lara tried to run away, but the two men cops were too strong. They put her on the chair and cuffed her on the table "Dannazione" she thought in Italian. If only she hadn't had to change the path...damn.

The two officers that had her handcuffed exited the room just in time to run into Commissioner Gordon. "Gentlemen." The commissioner nodded before entering the room. He sat down in the chair opposite of the woman that had been their little intruder for the day. He cupped his hands together, leaning forward. He didn't say a word. Not yet. It was clear to him that even if he did say words, she probably wouldn't talk. They did confiscate an ear piece though. That'd be the first place to start. Gordon leaned forward even more, clearing his throat.
"Well here we are again. Would you like to explain to me what happened? Why my evidence room magically caught on fire?" Gordon asked. He was quite curious as to what happened and why it happened. He needed to know why. He needed to know so he could prevent such a thing from happening again. He'd try to be nice to her as he possibly could. After all, she didn't seem like she ever wanted to hurt him. Someone that had every chance to do such a thing didn't. So with that, Gordon could at least give her a shred of respect. The man stood up, taking a key from his pockets and unlocked her handcuffs.
"That is nothing more than a common courtesy. Please do not get the wrong idea. I am not armed, you can not turn my own weapon against me. The door is locked magnetically and there are several officers outside." He did his best to make it very clear that she had no hope of escape, not this time. He took every precaution to make sure she stayed locked up, at least for a little while.
"Now if you please... Tell me what happened."

Lara closed her eyes trying to clear her head from all the thoughts. This situation was dangerous, even more dangerous than fighting a villain in person because Gordon could actually find something, or maybe not, probably not, that earpiece could be destroyed by a remote command, the General just needed to order it to the computer geek and that earpiece would be no more. Perhaps they already did it, Lara didn't know, she couldn't know because she had been caught. Dannazione.
"Listen, that person who caught the room on fire, they could do something worse to take the earpiece back" it was a possibility even though the earpiece could be destroyed remotely, or somehow, in a computer geek fashion sort of thing, but still, Lara wanted to warn him because people could get hurt. Lara didn't know the person who did it and the General said that he didn't know either, if he was telling the truth of course.
Lara observed Gordon moving forward from his sit then he stood up and she was following his movements with her gaze. He uncuffed her. Well, that was a start. Lara nodded "Common courtesy, thank you then, Commissioner" she wasn't being sarcastic even though it could seem like it.
Gordon asked her what happened and Lara didn't really know how to answer that question because she didn't know what had happened. That man-fire-situation shouldn't have happened, but she knew that in some way her stay here wasn't going to be long. They were going to release her, using a lawyer or in another way. Right, she had to ask for a lawyer. Lara hoped for the lawyer because the other way could mean hurting someone and she didn't want that "If I'm underarrest then I ask for a lawyer" Lara said with a sigh.

Gordon listened to what the woman had to say, he wasn't surprised at all when she requested her lawyer. He knew that would happen. Anyone that was ever in this type of trouble usually went right for the lawyer. In fact that was the smart thing to do. Any criminal or any kind of sort that broke the law, if they were apprehended by the police they were always taught to request a lawyer and say nothing else. Gordon coughed, bringing his sleeve up to his mouth to cover it. The man then stood up, staring at the woman that he thought responsible for the fire in the evidence room. If not her, then someone she worked for. James Gordon would find out what happened.
"You have the right to an attorney. Tell me who to contact you, and I will make sure your lawyer is notified of your predicament... Miss?" After all the time he had spent with this woman, Gordon still didn't know the name she went by. He thought that perhaps the perpetrator would reveal her name when mentioning who her lawyer was. It was her right to be represented by an attorney at law. No one could deny her that right, not even Gordon. It didn't matter. He'd still do his job, the attorney would do his.
It would only be a matter of time until it was clear who did the better job that day.

"Why do I feel I'm the villain now?" Lara thought uneasily looking at Gordon. She wasn't the villain, she wasn't working for a Rogue or someone in those lines. She was working for the army, however she couldn't say it because it had to remain a secret. The room was very silent even though Lara knew there was someone behind the mirror, it felt like being in a movie right now.
Gordon said that he was going to call a lawyer, but then Lara rose a brow when he asked for her name "No need to know it, Commissioner" the lawyer was on his way already, it was part of the procedure. In fact, after a while, the lawyer arrived at the Gotham City Headquarters, Lara figured that he had been called by them when she got caught by the police officers.
Lara sighed, she couldn't believe how bad she ruined the mission. Gordon was not stupid, he knew how to do his job so Lara was afraid that he could actually find something in someway. Someone knocked at the door and Lara looked up when the lawyer entered in the room "Commissioner" he greeted the man politely sitting next to his client, Lara looked at him and then at Gordon "Do you have tangible proof that it was my client who set the room on fire?" the lawyer asked Gordon.
