As soon as he landed a hit at Catwoman, he backed off for a second. That was the one mistake he made this time that he knew he shouldn't have done. Giving Catwoman one second was like giving her a minute to react. When she seemed to make a sound like the hissing of a cat, he knew she was about to strike back with more than her fists. He saw her flex her figures out and her claws were now ready and waiting.
Robin saw Catwoman was protecting a sack in her other hand. As soon as she swiped at him with the one clawed hand, he jumped back a bit to try and avoid the claws. But he hadn't been quite quick enough to avoid the first slash she gave with her claws. The claws slashed across the left side of his face, but luckily they did not get deep contact into his skin. Right away, Robin could feel some blood running down the side of his cheek where four of her five claws cut him. It was still enough to cause him to wince in pain, his first reaction was to cover it with one hand as he took a step back.
The claws continued to fly at him as Catwoman seemed to be moving around him. He tried to stay away from her a bit. He needed to think of a way to try and get that sack out of her hand. If he could, he figured he could throw her focus off even more. But it seemed something was already doing that. Her expression changed from gritted teeth of anger to a light grin. Robin did wonder for a second what it was. He glanced quickly as he avoided another swipe of her claws. All he caught a glimpse of anything being around on the rooftop, was some cat sitting near the ledge. But he didn't even give it a thought as he was trying to stay away from Catwoman at the moment. Robin dropped his hand from the side of his face as he decided he would try and duck. As he ducked, he swung his right leg out trying to trip Catwoman as she tried to go around him. He was supporting himself with both his hands on the ground to have a better chance to extend the range of the swing.

Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, the large cat actually becomes interested in the fight. It's the hiss from the female that draws his attention, and then that swipe - distinctly cat-like and it gets his attention. But the effect of that isn't immediate, however, as it takes him several moments to decide just what to make of it. The cat-hiss doesn't particularly impress him, as he sees his ability to talk (at least when his collar is working) instead of making such primitive vocalizations as one of the main things that separate him from the clearly inferior streetcats that are obviously not as clever as he is. But the claw-swipe move is, of course, one of those things that separates him from the clearly inferior humans that are obviously bumbling fools most of the time. Except for this female, apparently.
And when she casts another friendly look in his direction, he abruptly makes up his mind. The female is definitely more likely to help him, and he sees here an opportunity to increase those odds. The moment he sees the male start to duck, the cat suddenly runs into the fray and leaps at the male's back, trying to catch hold of the top part of the cape with his claws. Given the sheer amount of fabric there (not to mention that it's probably less permeable than your average bit of cloth) it's unlikely that claws would actually reach skin, but that's not the cat's intention anyways. He may be not be as heavy as an overfed housecat, but he's still a particularly big cat and not a light one by any means. Especially when he's unexpectedly flinging himself at you at high speed while you're performing a more delicate maneuver.

When the boy ducked from her claws and swung his leg out in order to trip her, she caught the movement with enough time to evade the threat to her balance, and hopped over his legs with ease. However, she knew that Robin was a skilled acrobat, and that he wasn't very vulnerable there on the ground. In fact, knowing him, he'd pounce back up like the pest he was rather quickly, and be back throwing punches at her and whatnot. But with what few seconds she did have before he got back up, she figured would be put to good use by leaping off of this particular rooftop, and to another.
She wasn't able to do this however, as the large cat that had been watching the fight and that she too had been keeping her own eyes on, leapt at Robin and began to claw at him from behind. Smirking, she got a few feet of distance between her and Batman's apprentice, and put a hand on her hip, chuckling softly. "Good kitty." She murmured, and while he was busy with the large tom cat, she closed the gap between them and put Robin's neck between her claws. She wouldn't kill him; definitely not. As much as she disliked him, she knew he was needed in Gotham. "It's not worth it, kid. Just let me have my necklace and you can go on back to daddy."

Robin had hardly gotten the chance to carry on with his attempt to trip Catwoman up, when something attacked him from behind. At first, he wasn't sure what it was. It wasn't a person, it's weight was too light. Though the force of whatever it was caused him to lose his concentration and throw him off balance. His arms collapsed from beneath him from the force and weight of the creature. He could lightly feel something trying to claw into his back as he now lay face down on the ground at the moment. He figured out right away that it must be that cat that had been sitting on the ledge of the build. The material help prevent the animal's claws from piercing all the way through it.
He picked himself up, so he was kneeling on his knees now as he reached with both hands behind his back. It wasn't easy trying to reach the cat. Though it was large, it was clawed in on the upper center of his back. Robin was not keen on trying anything too violent to try and get the cat off. After all, it was a cat, even if it was attacking him. He kept trying to grab at it as he started to stand up. The cat seemed to probably be too busy trying to stay clawed onto his back to try and swipe at him as he tried to remove it, which help give Robin less of a struggle to get it off his back.
Trying to grab at the large cat did not seem to be working. So, Robin grabbed the right part of his cape and tried to pull it off to the side a bit. This seemed to work as he was able to see the large feline a bit more. He held onto part of the cape as he used his other hand to try and pull the cat off as now it was almost off to his shoulder. Once he got a hold of the cat with the one hand, he quickly let go of the cape and grabbed at it with the other. After a bit of a struggle, he managed to pull the cat off of his cape. He held the cat away from him and dropped it off to the side, no more than a foot or so off the ground. He wasn't going to throw the cat, Robin knew he would be quick enough to catch up to Catwoman if he had to go after her.
As he started to stand straight up know after that unexpected attack, he knew he had to try and focus on where Catwoman may have started to run off. But as he turned away from the cat, Robin felt a hard grip grasp around his throat at first. Then Catwoman's claws laid into the side of his neck, pinching a bit lightly into his skin. Robin stopped and was silent. He didn't move an inch. Catwoman had him in her claws and could easily end his life there and then with them. There was no way he could try and pull any tricks on her, she was just as quick and it would be too risky for him to attempt anything. Robin listened to her words as he watched her through narrowed eyes. As she finished saying the part of 'go on back to daddy', Robin gave her a sharp glare almost as if to warn her not to say something further into that again. It was noticeable that she had hit a nerve of real annoyance in what she said and what she was doing didn't help.
"And if I don't," he said, seeming to try and push her one step further after what she had said, knowing fully well what she could do at that moment. Just testing her a little bit, if he would not have an attempt to go on after her. He could always try and chase her down again. There wasn't much besides the cat there to try and stop him once she would free him. It was just the last part of her comment that agitated him a bit. Even if he didn't go after her tonight, there would always be another time.

To say that the cat is pleased with how one little maneuver on his part completely turned the tide of the fight would be putting it mildly; he's the very definition of the word 'smug'. His tail curls in pleased arcs even as the male attempts to dislodge him - at least until the female talks to him. Turning his head sharply in her direction, his eyes narrow and an unhappy grumble starts in his throat that ends in a shortened hiss. Obviously, something about her has just very much upset him, but alas without a working collar he can't explain to her in detail what it was and how very stupid he believes her to be just now.
But in spite of all that, he clings tightly to the male's cape until he manages to actually get a good enough grip on him to force the issue, at which point the cat cooperates. Struggling against the brute force of a human is generally not only fruitless but painful. Besides, the female is about to take advantage of the situation just as he expected she would, so his good deed for the day is done.
When dropped from the minuscule height he lands neatly on his feet in proper cat fashion and walks a few feet away with all the dignity he can muster - which happens to be a rather large amount, actually. He doesn't go very far at all, however, before he sits and starts to delicately groom his forepaws, pretending not to be paying any attention to either of them. Which is a complete lie of course; he's just done someone a favor and hopes - no, expects - for it to be repaid. He's just too offended to recognize that the female exists at the moment and intends to remain in that state until it becomes inconvenient.

"If you don't, then I'll leave you with a few scratch marks deeper than what you're used to, little boy." She says, half through gritted teeth as the tips of the metallic claws are pressed firmly into his neck. Really, his life was in her hands, and if he made any sudden movements, it'd only hurt him more. Releasing her grip just a bit, she looked back over at the long-haired cat and gave it an odd, sort of sympathetic look. Like she could tell she'd done something wrong, or something of that sort.
"I hardly think your life is that meaningless to lose it to a woman with a penchant for cats and jewels. If you want to die that much, go after the Joker. He causes much more harm than I ever will." Fully letting go of him now, Selina did a quick jump-step backward, standing on the very edge of the building, judging the height. Too high to just free-fall off, but not that high with the help of her grappling whip.
Pulling the wound-up whip from her hip, she readied it to save her from becoming a blood stain on the pavement, and gracefully leaped off the building. Not a second later, the whip-crack could be heard as the tail end of it wound around a flag-pole, and she hung there for a moment, only a few feet off the ground. Smiling, pleased that she'd gotten away, she gave a downward pull of the handle, and both she and her weapon made the few foot drop down to the pavement, and she was off in a bolt yet again.

Robin knew he had annoyed Catwoman quite a bit with his comment. Her adding more pressure with her claws on his neck just reflected it all the more. Then again, he had been on her tail since she had gotten into the jeweler store probably didn't help.
For a moment, he felt her grip lighten on his throat. He noticed that she was looking over at that cat again. It seemed like she was taking some sort of orders from that cat. Then again it was Catwoman, she would understand them better than him any day. Robin stayed quiet and did not move as she spoke.
Robin figured she was going to try and make her great escape now while the odds looked good for her. Catwoman's firm grip quickly released from around his throat and in no time, Catwoman was by the edge of the building. Using her whip to help her escape, and like that she was gone. Robin ran to the edge of the building, but she was no where within sight. He was a bit disappointed that the battle had ended that quickly, but he knew he'd catch her another time some where. Seeing as Batman never showed up, Dick thought that the social party must have been going quite well for Bruce to not try to get away and start patrol already. At this point, there was no point to rush back. Maybe he could find someone else causing trouble, he thought as he walked away from the edge. He pulled out his line gun and aimed for a nearby building and fired. And with that, he was off again.

The dark-furred tom doesn't appear to react to the female's look, though that doesn't mean that the implied apology in that look isn't noticed and noted. Or perhaps he merely assumes that she's sorry, because who in their right mind would offend him on purpose? But he ceases his boycott of pretending she doesn't exist when she jumps to the edge of the building. What's she doing? He'd be unable to jump down from there safely, so obviously she wouldn't either. Oh, but she has a tool to help her down - very clever, but using tools is cheating! Except, of course, collars that read brain waves.
He spares the male a glance, but since he's already pegged the female as being more likely to help, he wastes no time in trying to follow her. He bolts back toward the fire escape - the only way off the building he can use since he has no fancy equipment - and that slows him up a bit, but when he's so inclined he can outrun any normal human. At least if they don't keep up the pace for too long or try too many crazy maneuvers he can't easily copy. Of course, even in that event he has a change of tracking her scent, though that can be a little iffy on the city streets.
