Joker smiled wide when Harley kicked the policeman "Good girl! Oh and yes! We'll have so much fun! I still have to thank you properly for saving me from this madhouse" Joker nodded at Harley's words and then took a turn when the corridor turned left, they were near the exit, but surely the police officers weren't going to let them go so easily. It was better that way, more fun! Suddenly, Joker heard Evangelina's voice and he took the mini-device-radio-whatever from his pocket and spoke "No one tried to take your heart off? Really...?! How disappointing...so boring..." Joker sighed, he seemed really sad about that.
"However, in that office there should be a hidden door, it's at your left after you walked in the office" he explained or at least he tried "There is a right and boring way to open the door, I'm sure..." Joker tone changed and seemed like his voice just rolled its eyes, so to speak "...but we'll do it the fun way so: shoot at the wall!" Joker laughed, but then stopped when his henchmen stopped walking, he frowned "Ok, let me know what happens" he interrupted the communication.
"Why did you stop, ciurma?" he asked his henchmen "There are cops at the door" one of them said pointing at the door with the word -exit- over it "So...?" Joker rose a brow and the henchmen looked at each other for the second time this evening, then they remembered who they were working for "We'll go out and shoot at them?" they asked with a smile on their faces "Let's see what they do first...then we shoot them" he pointed at the door with a motion of his chin and two henchmen opened the door, one per side. Joker looked at Harley still around his arm and smiled then walked out in the Asylum's gardens where the police was "Hello!" Joker said to them smiling and waited to see what they were going to do.

“Aww, come on! I’m so sick of these coppers!” Harley pouts, gritting her teeth behind her lips at the sight of the officers, she releases her grasp on her clown lover’s arm – she pauses for a moment, weighing out her options as to how she can approach this. “Y’know, Mistah J, I’m really tired of takin' out these pigs.” Harley raises her arm, looking at her wrist which has a cheap watch she bought earlier in the day wrapped around, she counts up the math in her head before turning to the clown prince of crime with a gleeful smile.
“Hey, puddin', I’ve got a big surprise waitin’ for ya! Maybe the boys here can take ya to go check it out…I can deal with the broad…I won’t be long, hun.” Harley lightly kisses him on his cheek, leaving a small piece of his facepaint on her lips as she starts to skip away from The Joker, being careful to avoid the officers and keep out of sight, hiding behind various things as she makes her way across to the other end of the garden. Knowing her special “surprise” is waiting for Joker near the gates to Arkham, she feels confident that he and the henchmen can handle themselves without her.
Breaking her way through the doors to the other building, she realizes the coast looks clear – this place has already been evacuated and it’s almost as if it’s been abandoned for years. Harley cautiously but excitedly makes her way through the corridors, her eyes shifting left to right with every skip until she comes to the door she’s been looking for – one that leads to an office. She kicks open the door, almost breaking it off of its hinges with the force of her foot, pulling out her giant mallet. “Knock, knock!” She rests the mallet on her shoulder, tilting her head with a sly grin as she looks to the inside. “Hi!”

“We'll do it the fun way so: shoot at the wall!”
Entertainment? Joy? Was that the whole reason for this? Was Joker really that bored? The laugh that illuminated Jeremiah’s eyes was unmistakable, though in the darkness who could tell? Who even knew that he lurked within his office? The old warden of Arkham might have stocked up and shipped out in the beginning quakes of a probably riot with the Clown Prince of Crime at its head, but it wasn’t the past anymore. Now the good doctor peered from a sliver of the bathroom door and clicked the safety off his gun. His shoes were slipped off silently.
He had many questions for the woman who had stolen into his office, the police officer who had some connection with the Joker, but he almost tasted the answer on his tongue. He had something over her. He could read it in her steps, the way she spoke. The door, new and oiled swung open without a sound. His feet made no noise either as he crossed the room and came behind her.
The first thing he did was place the muzzle of the pistol he carries against her back. He levels it with her heart against her spine. Then without a word, he leaned over her, breath against her ear as he took the walkie with his other hand. “Yes, let’s have some fun,” he told him. “Let’s play a game. Let’s play how many of your men can I take out with the snipers I have waiting for my signal now.”
He dropped the walkie and slid his hand under the desk to a button. He pressed his hand to it and then turned his head so his lips slide against Evangelina’s ear with every word. “Now…to deal with you.” He said as gunfire filled the air from outside.

Though she may be listening to the Joker, Evangelina doesn't exactly trust him. So when she turns to the left she doesn't exactly shoot at the wall - at least not yet. Instead she steps over to the wall to inspect it for signs of a door first - while it's possible to cleverly hide the seams of a hidden door, she knows that isn't nearly as common as simply making the seams not obvious to the casual eye. To the eye looking for it those seams aren't that difficult to find - and if she does find a door she feels that she can then decide whether the Joker's suggested course of action is right. And if she doesn’t find a door she'll suspect that the Joker is messing with her.
Though as it turns out, she doesn't get that far. The search for the door turns out to be a perfect distraction for the man sneaking up behind her. A cold circle of metal suddenly touching her back is not something she needs to have spelled out for her. She freezes, though she manages to remain remarkably calm - her mind is already making wild guesses about what's going on, but she'll take the fact that the next thing he does is take the walkie-talkie as a good sign, as whoever this is they have priorities other than her personally. She can work with that, regardless of anything else. She just needs to find out some of the motivations of the man behind her.
And what he says into the walkie-talkie makes the situation perfectly clear - thankfully, they're on the same side, though she can understand why he may question that given the fact that she broke down the door and is listening to the Joker. "I'm not with him - he's been messing with me. Can you help me with that problem?" she asks, hoping that will diffuse the situation. If not, there's always Plan B - whirl around and hope that she's too fast for him or that her vest does the trick, and then show him what she's made of until he's no longer a threat.

Joker didn't actually listen to Harley when she said that she was bored, the clown had learnt long time ago that listening to Harley every single time was exhausting so he chose very carefully when to pay attention to her. Otherwise he would strangle her. So, Joker actually listened to her when he casually heard the word surprise and she kissed him on the cheek. Joker smiled at her " ...and off she goes" he thought looking at her running somewhere over the rainbow. Suddenly, he heard another voice in the walkie-talkie " Ohhh....guess who just crushed the party??" Joker laughed and he even laughed louder after what Jere said " It is a funny game! Hey guys! You got it?? Ooops!" one of his henchmen got hit by a sniper and the others were gonna follow if they didn't retreat back in the Asylum. So, that was what Joker did. That could seem a sign of weakness, but you could never tell with the Joker " They are on the roof, go there and have some fun!" his henchmen screamed crazily happy to kill, sometimes they even looked more crazy than the Joker...ok no...that was impossible, but still. Joker called Harley before running to the office, a little help couldn't hurt, could it? Of course, the clown wanted it to hurt badly his enemies " Harl! Come to Arkham's office! We're going to play hide and seek!" she knew what that meant, turn off the lights and take down the enemy...laughing all the time. The clown took a pistol from one of his henchmen and ran towards Arkham's office. Some guards tried to stop him, but hey, they should know better by now. Joker arrived at the office. Now, a sane person wouldn't even enter the office knowing that it would be a bad idea, but the clown wasn't a sane person so he entered anyway knowing that it was a bad idea. Joker saw the light so he shot at it right after entering in the room and everything went black. Well, of course the Joker wanted to play hide and seek so he started walking without making any noise. It was dark enough to hide in the shadows. Pistol in hand, he was ready to play. He couldn't see either, but he could listen and by the way, there were other options, crazy ones, but still. if there is something to edit tell me! =) edit: add Joker's call to Harley =)

If Jeremiah had any concern about the snipers now that they were revealed, he voiced nothing. He didn’t have any concerns because he didn’t have any doubts. The snipers weren’t just trained long-range shooters after all, he’d done his own research and they were part of the new team that would be watching over Arkham City soon enough. Trained not only to shoot, but to pacify and if nothing else eradicate what was there to worry about? The goons the Joker would send to them wouldn’t have a single clue. Oh, what they were walking into. Jeremiah smirked. For priding himself on being unpredictable, the Clown Prince of Crime might as well have been an open book. He was going to send his goons after the snipers and Jeremiah knew what the Joker’s next destination would be. “The clown does pride himself on his ‘recruiting’ techniques,” he said. He could feel the vest against his chest and her uniform was unmistakable, but that hadn’t meant a thing. Her actions did. She’d not immediately attacked. She’d instead spoken and asked for help. “I’ll ask what he has on you, but let’s save that.” He pulled back and went to the bookshelf. After removing a book, he revealed a panel and entered a code. Immediately the wall on the opposite side of the room opened. “Follow me. I’ll help you and you’ll help me. Fair trade, don’t you think? And I’ll not ask for anything on that clown’s level. But he’s on his way here if my thinking’s correct.”He replaced the book and went to the opening. “There’s a button in here to press to close the passage once you come. Hit when you follow. I’m Dr. Jeremiah Arkham, by the way.” He flashed her a grin and disappeared. Hopefully they'd both be gone before the Joker came in. Skipping Harley because it's been almost a month and I'd love for the thread to move. Sorry Harley! You can still reply! <3 Let me know if I need to change anything, Joker player. I hopefully left the reply with enough room for him to either be able to follow them, or maybe he'll figure out how to open the passage, or well, let's see what happens!

"He doesn't have anything!" Evangelina responds almost reflexively, sounding offended. Not that there isn't anything to find on her, but she does take a certain level of pride in not leaving any evidence or getting caught. Not by her employers and not by the Joker.
But recognizing that there's more important things to worry about right now than minor pokes at her pride, she lets the subject drop. She assumes that there will be plenty of time to defend her actions later. Right now getting out of this situation is the priority. Which is why she's quick to say, "Fair trade." She'd trust anyone sooner than she'd trust the Joker - anyone with any sense would. And she's quick to follow him to wherever he's going, being sure to locate and push the button he mentioned as soon as she's inside the passage.
Hastening her steps to catch back up with him, she introduces herself, "I'm Officer Evangelina Bradley." Normally she doesn't throw her first name in there, preferring to be more formal - mostly because it's hard enough to be a female police officer already, and she doesn't need to make it easier for someone to treat her with less respect than she deserves by making it possible for them to refer to her by her first name or one of its many possible nicknames. But in spite of the fact that she has so many other things to be thinking about right now, it hasn't escaped her attention that the man now helping her is more than a little bit attractive. And he may be older, but that's not the same thing as being old. And he's a famous psychiatrist too - if he wants to abuse the fact that he knows her first name now, then he can go right ahead.
"So where does this passage lead?" she asks curiously - she hadn't cared when she'd entered it, just so long as it took her out of where she was before. But now that she's within it she'd like to know where they're headed.

Joker couldn't be really unpredictable right now because he was after something, he put on his special glasses that were in the suit, maybe Harley or one of the henchmen had put them in the suit, didn't matter "Ooohhh, there you are!!" Joker said to the secret passage "The mouses ran in there, trapped like rats" not by the passage itself, Joker meant it in a...okay...he was crazy...sometimes he just said or thought stuff because it sounded funny to him.
Joker ran to the roof, the snipers were dead "Take their sniper rifles, give that one to me, you go close the main doors" the clown wanted the people to stay on an open visual. There were agents, guards and police outside talking about how direct things and where to go and how get the clown. Joker called another henchman that had hacked the speakers to put his voice on but talked after the doors were closed, the henchmen with the task of closing doors returned few minutes later, there weren't many doors and henchmen knew how to block doors to not let anyone in.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!!" Joker's voice was all over the Asylum thanks to the speakers "Your life sentence has been decided by Officer Evangelina Bradley and Doctor Arkham! You see...the dear Arkham took my intern away...she shouldn't have followed him, she had agreed to be my puppet first! Now you all will pay for their mistakes!" the police and the people on the open ground didn't know where Joker's voice came from because of the many speakers around the Asylum.
The henchmen started shooting and people started dying "Snipers!!" someone screamed before being shot. Joker started laughing, he couldn't help himself, his laugh echoed throughout the Asylum thanks to the speakers. People tried to enter in the buildings but...surprise! The doors didn't open, okay, it wasn't a surprise for the Joker 'cause he had done that, but it was an horrifying surprise for them.
"Ten dead people on the ground, ten dead people...take one down and pass it around...eleven dead people on the ground!" Joker sang laughing, the speakers still on "I'm laughing to death!!" he laughed again "Oohhhh they shouldn't have tried to be so smarty pants on me!! HhahahHAH!" speakers still on then the clown stopped laughing suddenly
"See what you've done?" this time Joker talked in a serious tone, he was using the speakers but also the radio so that he was sure Evangelina and Arkham could hear him, although the speakers were loud enough. The henchmen kept shooting at the powerless people, they tried to find shield, but there wasn't any "Let's play a game...you give me what I want and people will stop to die" Joker said to Evangelina and Arkham.

Jeremiah spared a glance at the officer’s outburst, but stayed himself from comment. He could have responded, however. He could have said that while the Joker may have nothing on her, obviously there was something she wanted under wraps. The innocent didn’t throw in with the Joker. Those who had something to hide did. Yet he too realized that there were more pressing matters than debating with the woman. So he let her introduce herself and focused at following the corridor.
Let it be known that her beauty didn’t go unnoticed, nor did her personality, her wit, nor the fact that she was a very focused individual. All of those are attractive features to the doctor, but for now they go without remark. Most of it goes without remark. “What you prefer to be called by?” They have a goal: to make it out of here and he wants the partnership to go well, no matter how brief it may come to be. In addition to that, it never hurt to get yourself on the good side of an attractive woman. Jeremiah had always been splendid at multitasking, and he was more than capable of balancing the task of leading out of here with the ruminations on the lovely qualities of the lady at his side.
“Many places,” he answered her query and he would have said more had gunshots not suddenly echoed. That received a frown from the good doctor, but the manic raving that soon followed raised nothing save a faint smirk crossing over Jeremiah’s face.
He turned to Officer Bradley. “If you keep following his passage straight, it leads to a building just on the outskirts of Arkham grounds. You can get away from here. I, however, have had enough of this lunacy.” He went to the side of the wall. Doors had interrupted the monotony of the sides. Some were storage and others were for other purposes special to the psychiatrist. He entered a code into one of them and opened a door to what appeared to be a gun safe. He took out a shot gun and dumped several boxes of ammunition into the pockets of his doctor’s coat.
A moment later he was picking the radio out of Evangelina’s hands. “A strong-willed, cunning and intelligent woman your intern? No, you obviously can’t handle such a creature. Your type’s more the mindless, devoted, bruised woman with no brains for herself.” He clipped the strap on the gun and put it over his shoulder. He gave the radio back to Evangelina. “Take care of yourself.”
Jeremiah took off down the hall again, opened another door that lead through a lab of some sort and connected back to the main asylum. From here the roof would a straight shot up a few flights of stairs.

"Depends on who's talking," she replies honestly, "You can call me whatever you want." She's been called so many things by so many different people, that she can't say that she has an actual preference. Each of her possible nicknames has its own baggage - each has been used both by people she likes and dislikes. Nicknames that used to be favorites are now that name some ex called her all the time, and nicknames she used to hate are suddenly more appealing by comparison. And by this point it's all pretty much evened out - she only balks at being addressed disrespectfully anymore.
Speaking of which, she pauses when she hears gunshots, though they don't bother her very much because they sound like they're not too close. But when she hears what the clown says, her face shifts into a scowl. She doesn't give voice to the sudden torrent of angry thoughts now stewing in her mind, though the fact that she's angry is clear enough to read in her expression. Her lips have shifted into a hard line, and her desire to just get out of here has suddenly disappeared.
Almost as if on cue, Dr. Arkham is telling her how to leave. She responds by commenting, "I'm holding a shotgun, and now I'm pissed off. I think that I'll stick around." Maybe she'll have the opportunity to shoot the clown with the very gun he told her to bring with her - wouldn't that be deliciously ironic? She only pauses long enough to clip the radio to her belt so that her hands are free to use the gun properly before she follows after him.
"And for the record, I can handle myself - normally I'd rather avoid these freaks, but that doesn't mean I can't take down a guy twice my size. And seriously, I have had it with this clown. I never agreed to anything. What kind of a mental case would I have to be to do a stupid thing like that? He's just screwing with me, and I'm done with it," she rants, talking to Dr. Arkham at first, though by the end it sounds more like she's quietly muttering to herself.

Joker was crazy in everything that he did: speaking, talking, fighting, laughing, etc. Even his way of thinking wasn't like the others, his logic was unique, but also understandable if someone studied him enough or was as crazy as he was, however, it was a difficult thing to accomplish and only Batman was truly capable of understanding the psycho clown "Kill them all" Joker ordered to the henchmen so they stopped shooting and threw lots of little colourful balls on the garden's ground near the feet of the soon-to-be-victims.
The balls broke due to the impact against the ground and a green gas engulfed the garden, people tried to cover their mouths, but clothing wasn't a protection against the Joker's toxin. The garden was filled with hysterical laughing and Joker laughed too enjoying the show. However, the not-so-bright henchmen didn't foresee something: the craziness of their boss.
Still laughing, Joker took one of his henchmen's bags where there were other balls then he threw some of them on the floor "Sorry, guys, but he's coming sooo I've to do some pest control here" Arkham could be predictable too sometimes, also Joker wanted to kill these henchmen anyway, he needed to stay alone because he needed to move fast. Joker's henchmen fell on the roof's floor, laughing. The psycho clown took as many things as he could from the smiling corpses.
"Oh someone is hitting on someone!! You know who else is gonna hit you?? ME! If you don't give me what I want!" he was talking to both of them, Joker was already planning to ruin Evangelina's life if she didn't give to him what they agreed, Joker never forgot and never forgave.

You don’t always get what you want.
That meant nothing to Jeremiah. For the moment he had all he wanted and The Joker certainly had nothing he wanted. He didn’t even have anything he needed. The Joker was simply one more mad, predictable obstacle in his damn way. Yes, he’d just called him predictable because what wasn’t there to predict? He didn’t even question Evangelina’s words. If she wanted to come with, she was welcome. She could take care of herself—they were in agreement on that. His offer of directions out had nothing to do with thinking her weak because of her gender and sex, but everything to do with wanting to be helpful for once.
She wanted to come, though? That was fine. Two people were better than one. And if she wanted to shoot the Joker, he’d not have said anything. Far be it from him to stop her from revenge. He’d enjoy if the Joker was shot. Especially if it was right in that annoying mouth of his. His voice was grating on good days and today was excellent.
Digression had to be put aside, though. He paused once more momentarily on their path to throw the butt of his gun into a glass case. He threw one of the objects inside at the officer—a gas mask. Then he took another one and secured it on his face. As he’d said, the Joker was predictable.
Then he bounded up the stairs, waited for Evangelina to catch up and opened the door. He immediately began pumping round after round out.

It wasn't that Evangelina thought that Dr. Arkham doubted her, it's that they literally met moments ago and he wouldn't know to what degree his volunteer would be able to look after herself in a fight unless she tells him. She assumes that he can handle himself if he's so eager to go after the Joker even if it's by himself - he above anyone ought to know how dangerous the man is. But especially when she's tossed a gas mask she feels that she's stumbled into someone who not only knows exactly what he's getting himself into, and not only that but anticipated this situation and prepared for it. She's quite happy to assist such a person, especially - as she said - when she's angry and armed.
And she does want to shoot the Joker. Which isn't the same thing as wanting to kill him - if he happened to die from being shot, that would be just fine, but mostly she'd be satisfied with severe injury. If he's going to remember who she is and inflict himself upon her life, then she's going to inflict something upon him that actually gives him a reason to remember her! And if it isn't today, it will be the next time - and every time until he leaves her alone. She might pretend to be a simple cop, but she most certainly isn't and he's definitely messing with the wrong woman.
Dr. Arkham doesn't have to wait for her for more than an instant - she's right on his heels as he runs up the stairs. She keeps herself in excellent shape at all times, so the exertion is one that she can make without any problems besides the need to breathe more heavily - and that only seeming to be her body acknowledging that running up stairs is, indeed, a lot of work. She nods to him silently to indicate that she's ready, and when the door opens she's standing somewhat crouched beside him - allowing his shots to serve as cover while she peers out the door for an actual target, not firing unless she sees one. If she does see one, she won't hesitate to fire her shotgun, though - and she's an excellent shot, and holding a gun meant to be effective even if you're not an excellent short, so it would suck to be someone who happened to be in her sights right now. Especially if they're the Joker - she's especially eager to get him good right now.
