So I was browsing around TV Tropes (There went all my free time...) and I stumbled across to sections where they were taking heros and making them sound like villains and villains and making them sound like heros with hilarious results. I scanned both places for all the DC comics characters I could find and copied the results here for your viewing pleasure. Obviously they didn't do all the good ones or didn't do all of them very well, so feel free to reply with some of your own if you're so inclined.
- Batman -
- Catwoman -
- Joker -
- Lex Luthor -
- Poison Ivy -
- Scarecrow -
- Superman -
- Batman -
- Possibly insane billionaire who spends his nights beating up the mentally ill.
- This sociopath has made it his mission to create a climate of fear for most of his home town's denizens. He has trained in his youth with the worst thieves and assassins, and at least one Evil Overlord. He misappropriates most of his Mega Corp's funds for his private needs, and also uses its IT infrastructures to spy on the whole world. He's corrupted many young impressionable minors to join him, often just by appearing before them. He's so paranoid he's devised ways to take down even his remotest accomplices, just in case. This includes his alien best friend, for whom he carries a deadly poison at all times. He's built at least one evil satellite who conquered the world by turning random people into robots. Also, he's often written as a complete Jerk Ass.
- An obsessive body builder who frequently endangers his adopted children and uses physical force against his illicit female lover, spending considerable amounts of his corporate-earned money to more effectively brutalize mental patients.
- This rich kid's parents were killed and now he thinks it's okay to beat up people in the middle of the night.
- Catwoman -
- She only ever loved two things: her pets and the man of her dreams.
- Joker -
- He just wants to get the love of his life to laugh.
- A man who just wants to enjoy the inherent unpredictability of life and encourages others to lighten up.
- Was once a struggling comedian trying to make ends meet so he could support his pregnant wife; who ended up dying anyway. Not long afterwards, he too was dumped into a vat of chemicals, and horribly mutilated. The worst part is, the poor guy isn't even sure if that's really his past, or if it's just another false memory. However, he refuses to let the tragic events of his life bring him down, and, in fact, does what he can to spread smiles to the world.
- A brilliant but oft-abused man, who may have suffered from parental abuse, an ill-fated marriage, and personal disfigurement. After being pushed to the brink of insanity, he took it upon himself to demonstrate both his own genius and the true random nature of the world, that the people might realize their freedom and be free of society's shackles. But really, all he wants from a world is nothing more than a sea of smiles...
- He tried to get the best for his family, but when a horrible accident befell him and left him disfigured, he slowly began to lose his sanity. He found himself a Worthy Opponent to challenge again and again. The opponent gave him a chance to repent his ways, but in reality, he was just too afraid to take the chance.
- A visionary freedom fighter that realized that the social norms commonly associated with goodness are actually part of a hegemony to keep the proles in control, and anyone who disobeys will be savagely beaten by a Knight Templar. He burns currency to demonstrate it's meaningless, exposes a district attorney's ugly side, and creates a social experiment that reveals the shallowness of the moral system that keeps the citizens cowed.
- Lex Luthor -
- A brilliant genius who just wants to help humanity reach it's full potential without having to rely on an aloof Messiah figure to solve all their problems for them.
- He's faced an unstoppable alien menace time and time again, and yet he is seldom rewarded for his efforts even though he's a mere human. His many inventions have oftentimes been destroyed by that alien and its inhuman cohorts. His popularity is so great he was even elected to the highest office in the land, only to once again have that monster destroy everything he had worked so hard for.
- Poison Ivy -
- A brilliant environmentalist who is deeply in touch with nature and wants to remind people about the ecological damage they do to the planet. Frequently attempts to extract her best friend from an abusive relationship. Is persecuted by a ruthless, brutal and single-minded industrialist fiercely opposed to everything she stands for.
- Scarecrow -
- Standing up to the bullies by making their biggest fears come to life.
- Abandoned by his father, with a mother that just didn't care, he was taken in by his abusive grandmother. She let trained crows attack him at the slightest wrong doing. Even worse, his schoolmates bullied him constantly, and he was basically friendless, with his crush even pulling a Prank Date on him.
- A man of great intelligence and amibtion who, in spite of a terrible childhood with an abusive grandmother and absentee parents as well as horrific schoolyard bullying, yanked himself up by the proverbial bootstraps, began research into a misunderstood yet universal psychological topic, only to be fired from his place of work and constantly harassed by a self-appointed Moral Guardian who found the work too controversial.
- Superman -
- An alien with terrible unearthly powers incubates among humanity like a cuckoo, and regularly humiliates and antagonises one of Earth's most brilliant scientists.
- This man is an illegal alien. He is an obvious danger to society, but the government refuses to act against him. He often resorts to highly destructive violence.
