During the winter time, Gotham City is blanketed by darkness by late afternoon. It is as if God had cast a giant shadow over the city. It is as if the Tower of Babel was standing between Gotham and the sun.
At exactly 5:35 PM a black SUV pulls up in front of the Second National Bank of Gotham. Three men exit the vehicle all wearing black ski masks. Each of them has a distinct characteristic.
-One, is a behemoth of a man, who wears a red-sweater and a pair of khaki pants that must have been tailored made for his size.
-The Second man stands roughly 6'0, and is dressed in a brown trench-coat which he wears over a green suit. This man also carries a very large tommy-gun with numerous scratches and knicks from previous usage.
-And the third is the shortest of the three. He is wearing a tweed suit that has rather large elbow patches at those particular joints. He is also wearing a yellow bow-tie with black poke a dots. But the most odd characteristic about this one is that he is carrying a small mannequin, who in turn is wielding a machine pistol.
BOOM!
The doors to the bank burst open. Apparently Rhino took it upon himself to smash the doors from their hinges with a simple kick. The former professional wrestler then quickly subdues the security guard with a punch to the face.
Mugsy soon follows suit. Rushing to the front desks, and small office areas behind them. He points the machine gun, using it as the main motivation for all of the bank employees to enter onto the main floor with the customers.
"Don't even think about touching that security alarm! Get your asses out here to the front!" Barked Mugsy
The Ventriloquist points Scarface's tommy gun into the air.
RAT-A-TAT--TAT!!
Bullets are shot into the sky by Scarface. Scarface and the Ventriloquist quickly take the center floor of the bank.
"Good evenin' ladies and gents. In case ye haven' noticed, yer all in the process of 'eing robbed. Now, very very slowly. Everyon' remove their wallets and purses and throw them towards the feet of the center of the b'ank towards me.' Do this, and we'll keep the casualties to a minimum."
Rhino grabs one of the tellers and throws them over the bank counter and onto the floor.
"Rhino! Go for' da cash registers! Mugs', grab' da 'ag and collect all of the valuables. Da Dummy and I will watch over everyone."
"Sure thing boss." Rhino and Mugsy said simultaneously.
Twenty-for hours ago the boys had been getting restless. Since re-forming the gang, the Ventriloquist and Scarface had yet to plan a proper job to get money. The visitation to the home of Pamela Isley had turned up empty in that specific department. Hopefully this job would satisfy their cravings, in addition to providing monetary resources for their future plans.

It's been yet another average day for Dr. Nina Stenet, with the sole exception being that she managed to drag herself out of the lab in the afternoon rather than late in the evening to get some errands out of the way during business hours. And one of those errands is to stop by the bank so she can discuss an issue with one of her accounts. She's always hated having to take the time to figure out her finances - she has so many more important things to do. And it's unlikely that her opinion will improve given her luck of having entered the bank at 5:34pm this evening.
She's talking to one of the tellers when a loud sound startles her, and she gapes at the men entering the building with wide eyes. Though this isn't as entirely unexpected as it could be, given the crime rate in Gotham, she looks as stunned as a deer caught in headlights as the robbers quickly take charge of the bank. The gun fired in the air causes her to make a sort of frightened squeak, but snaps her out of it, and she submissively joins the flock of people being shepherded to the front.
While she may have more power to actually do something about this situation than the average person, if it's money they want, they can have it in her opinion. Money isn't nearly as important as lives, after all. So when asked she immediately grabs her wallet out of the large bag on her shoulder and tosses it over with the others without thought or complaint. It's not like she has much of value anyway: possibly $20 total in it, the hassle of canceling her checks and credit cards, and replacing them with new ones - not a very big deal in the grand scheme of things.
What does make her a bit anxious is her decision to keep hold of her bag - a woman's soft briefcase to be precise. Not the sort of thing one keeps their money in, and she hopes that since she gave up her wallet they'll ignore the bag it was in. Because while she doesn't hold what's in her wallet as valuable enough to risk her life for, what's in her bag is quite the opposite. In fact the only reason she brought it into bank in the first place is because she felt uncomfortable leaving it in her car - just her luck that would have been safer to do the opposite.

Between the customers, bankers, and clerks, there was a good number of civilians in the area. Rhino shoved one last clerk, who was trying to make sure everyone was safe, to the ground before going behind the registers. In his hand he had a large mailbag which he was filling with money from the cash registers.
Mugsy in turn strapped his tommy gun to his back with a gun sling which was attached to the weapon. Very convenient in case he required quick assess to the dangerous tool. He in turn removed a large mail bag from his coat and began to pick up all of the wallets and purses that everyone had thrown towards the center of the bank main floor.
Outside, Mouse sat in the driver's seat of the SUV. The exhaust from the large car blending a soft stream of smoke into the night air. He was a bit nervous, since this was technically his first official heist with the crew. Sitting in the passengers seat right beside him was a pump-action shotgun.
The Ventriloquist managed a nervous smile. "So far so good Mr. Scarface."
"Shaddup - Dummy. Don' get to overconfiden'." Scarface snapped as he scanned the bank for any small things that were out of place. That was when he spotted the woman who was face down and clutching a briefcase with both arms, holding it as if she was protecting a child during a bomb raid. "Ove' there."
The Ventriloquist walked over to the woman. Stopping just about half a foot away from her. Scarface peered down and pointed the machine pistol at her.
"Well. Well. Looke'. Looke'. Ah' wonder what we 'ave here. Hand over the briefcase cookie. Otherwis' t'hings are goin' to get messy, not jus' for ye. But for some of dem other patrons too."
Nina heard the sound of the hammer to the machine pistol being pulled back.
There was a loud resonating CLICK. And the Scarface was always itchy on the trigger finger.

she quipped dryly, trying to bring attention to herself and away from the civilian on the floor. Babs sprung forward, attempting to deliver a flying kick to the man to disarm him. Risky move, and her heart was pounding a hundred miles per hour, and she knew if she didn't land the kick right she'd be in serious trouble. OOC: Hope that was okay! Batgirl had landed softly without a sound onto the marble floor of the bank. Sitting in the SUV, Mouse had not seen her zip across the streets through the broken doors as she blended in with the sunless sky of Gotham. Rhino had just finished emptying the last cash register and Mugsy was kneeling on the floor attempting to package all of the wallets and purses into the bag with haste. Moments after the hammer of the machine pistol was pulled back by Scarface, the Ventriloquist took a hold of the gun in his free hand. Whenever Scarface used a gun, the Ventriloquist had to help him aim. With the Ventriloquist holding the machine pistol it allowed a little more flexibility to use Scarface as an actual weapon to club foes with. "Tommy guns and ski masks? You guys have got to stop shopping together," Batgirl quipped dryly. Batgirl's comment made the Mugsy, Rhino, and the Ventriloquist turn their attention away from Nina and the other civilians. Batgirl sprung from the floor and threw a flying kick which knocked the machine pistol from the Ventriloquist's grasp. The force of the kick resulted in the machine pistol projecting like a 99 mile per hour Roy Halladay fastball towards the wall. The force of the kick also sent the Ventriloquist sprawling to the floor in a motion that resembled him trying to sit down in a chair, only to find that a chair was not where he had planned to sit leaving the Ventriloquist in a sitting position on the floor. However, he had managed to cradle Scarface in his arms, thus preventing the mannequin from receiving any physical damage. "RHINO!" Scarface screamed. ((Rhino Bio: dcanimated.wikia.com/wiki/Rhino))Suddenly, Charles 'Rhino' Daley reached over the bank counter and grabbed Batgirl by her cowl, and lifted her towards him. Rhino placed Batgirl on the counter in a sitting position (Imagine Batgirl sitting on top of the bank counter), and then proceeded to wrap her in a bear hug. But this bear hug was not a gentle one. Rhino would squeeze until he heard bones snap or he had discontinued enough of the blood circulation throughout her body to make her pass out. The Ventriloquist smirked, before Scarface barked at Mugsy... "Don' jus' stand there gawkin'! Finishin' packing the loot!"Mugsy did as he was told. He would have a minute or two more of depositing wallets and purses into his mailbog before he was ready to leave. With his free hand, the Ventriloquist pulled out a small revolver from his inner jacket pocket. The exact same revolver the Ventriloquist, Arnold Wesker, was ready to use on Poison Ivy back in her mansion if she had not been determined and successful in avoiding a physical confrontation with the gang. The Ventriloquist crawled back towards the woman with the briefcase. Stalking towards her with Scarface in one hand, and the small gun in the other. When Arnold Wesker got close enough, he dropped his body to the floor and shoved the Revolver near her face. Meanwhile, he dangled Scarface above the both of them, making the mannequin move like a vulture scouting its prey. "Now. You better do what Mr. Scarface asked of you earlier, so hand over the briefcase." It was the Ventriloquist who spoke, and not the dominating part of his personality. "You don't want to make him angry."

The already nervous woman looks even more alarmed when her bag attracts some attention. And she's rather disconcerted when the attention she attracts seems to be from a doll with a gun. "You have my money, you don't need my research notes," she says feebly as her mind flails about wildly for something, anything, to get her out of this situation. Fortunately, she's saved from having to make any terrible snap decisions by the sudden arrival of Batgirl. And the interruption, as momentary as it is, gives her a chance to consider what to do more carefully.
Guns do not operate themselves, they require a finger to curl and pull the trigger, that finger is controlled by a tiny bit of nerve that passes through a forearm, and it would take only a little mental squeeze for her to render that nerve inoperable for a few seconds or a minute. A slightly larger one would render the finger on the trigger unable to curl for a good half an hour, and since she doesn't want to gamble the lives of all the innocent people here on how long this will take, that's exactly what she does, though not without some regret. Protecting herself is certainly a good use of her gift but causing undue harm, even to a criminal, is definitely not. Though she doubts any of the other people here will complain about someone temporarily losing the use of an itchy trigger finger.
That done, she breathes a small sigh of relief but watches the man in front of her carefully for any sign that she'll need to do more. In the back of her mind she worries about how Batgirl is managing but figures that one does not become a masked vigilante without the skills to get themselves out of such a predicament, so instead she tries to keep her attention on her own situation. "It's mine," she says back, her voice trembling but with some force behind it. Is she scared? Oh yes, but apparently she's not going to give it up very easily at all.

Dick looked out over the city from one of the main apartment building in the area. It had been getting dark earlier and he had gotten out of classes early today. Dick was glad to be out on a patrol earlier than usual. Maybe he could actually get an hour or two of sleep tonight before he would have to go to his morning classes. He hated taking winter classes and he wasn't all that interest lately in just hanging around the empty mansion of Wayne Manor. Though it didn't really bother him all that much that he hadn't spend much time with anyone lately and was working alone a lot now a days as Robin. He would never admit that it did help to have back up every now and then.
He had been on patrol now for about a half an hour. It seemed quiet so far this evening. He had only seen a few police squad cars pull over some cars for speeding of a traffic violation. So other than that, there was really nothing serious going on. Robin had driven the motorcycle out of the batcave since the roads were clear of ice, but had hidden it in an alley after a while to patrol by foot. Besides, if he needed it, he could always up it on auto drive and have the computers follow his wrist tracker. So eventually if he did need it for anything it would catch up with him. That was the one plus side to having some free time by himself, he had gotten more time to mess around with some of his equipment to improve the systems on them. And especially on his motorcycle, he was always trying to improve it with some new gear and up dating the computer system on it.
So there he was, now standing on a building looking for something to do. His location was not too far away from the main street, but far enough he would not have been able to hear the first gun shots all that well. Though something did catch his eye, or better yet someone. There was a figure moving from a building a block or so away. He knew Batman wouldn't be out for a while, so there was only one other crime fighter on the street that traveled by foot or line gun. Unless there was another hero he didn't hear about that came to town. It had to be Batgirl. That's a first in awhile, she wasn't usually out this early. Oh, well...But by the way she was now on the move, it looks like she was swinging into action, he thought.
He decided it wouldn't hurt to maybe check it out for himself. After all, there wasn't anything else to do. Dick ran and jumped from roof top to roof top, using his line gun when he needed to. It didn't take too long for him to get to the building that Batgirl looked like she had been heading for. Robin was now standing on the roof of the Second National Bank of Gotham. He walked over to the edge of the building and hooked his grapple hook on the roof and secured it. He pulled on it a few time to make sure it was sturdy and then grabbed hold of the rope of the hook and jumped off the edge of the building. He kept a tight hold on the end of the rope and let the rest of it slip through his other hand to allow him to lower himself to the ground as he swung.
Once on the ground, he left the rope hanging there as he moved toward the front of the building. He made it to the corned and saw a few vehicles parked outside the bank. He made a run for the door, and quickly hid within the entrance. It was quite obvious that someone had busted down the doors some how. He could now hear someone shouting out orders in lobby of the bank. Robin stayed hidden and saw all the hostages on the ground, and one man with a ski cap collecting what he could. There was another man with a dummy in his arm and a gun in another. Oh, great...the Ventriloquist was at it again. He saw the little man with the dummy working toward something, but he couldn't see because it was near one of the far counters. He looked over to the other side of the bank and there was this huge man holding Batgir on one of the counter in almost a death grip of a bear hug.
Robin didn't give it much thought as to what else was going on, but his first instinct was to help Batgirl. So, without any further thought as to the situation, Robin ran into the bank headed for the largest man. He did recognized the two men helping the Ventriloquist. It wasn't the first run in he had ever had with them.
"I didn't know you like Bats," he said as he charged toward the counters. When he was a few feet away, he reached out with both hands and grabbed onto the counter and pushed himself off it. He was going to try and knock the man over with force of a kick, since running up and trying to through a few punches wasn't exactly the best way to face this mammoth of a man. He led with both legs, hoping to knock the large man off of Batgirl.
(ooc: hope this was an alright time to enter.)

((Welcome to the thread Robin.)) Charles "Rhino" Daley was easily the biggest physical threat in the gang. The large man had stood his ground against Batman on two separate occasions. He acted as the personal bodyguard and muscle for the Ventriloquist. So upon seeing Batgirl attack the 'Boss,' Rhino took it upon himself to try and neutralize the major threat she posed. With Rhino they stood a physical chance against Batgirl, without him it would only be a matter of "When" and not "If." Yet, despite his raw strength and power he lacked the skills and finesse to be able to tackle two opponents with skill and ability. Thus, the arrival of Robin would prove to be a difficult task for Rhino to neutralize. Robin arrived only a few minutes after Batgirl. Pushing off the counter with his arms, Robin landed a powerful kick that caught Rhino in the face. The large man was forced to let go of Batgirl and staggered back three steps before hitting the wall with a thunderous... CRASH!!........that sent a minor tremor rumbling through the bank. Rhino would regain his composure. He would let out a snarl, and crack his knuckles Snatching a medium sized lamp, Rhino rushed forward and attempted to smash Robin, driving the lamp in a downward motion using both hands, as if he was John Henry slamming down a sledge hammer into the hard rock. ((Not sure where Robin is at this point--whether he is still on the counter, or on either side of the counter. Rhino will attempt to hit him regardless of where he is.)) ****************************************************** Outside Mouse was still in the running SUV. Batgirl......followed by Robin. Oh dear. The shortest and smallest member of the crew slipped on his ski mask, and moved on to plan B. Mouse shifted the gears and proceeded to drive into the alleyway behind the bank, so now the rear entrance would be open for their escape. ****************************************************** The woman simply said.."It's mine." Go 'head and shoot her Dummy. She ain't showin' you any respect. It was Scarface speaking. This time the conversation was happening in his head. "Ye--Yes--Yes Sir Mister Scarface." The Ventriloquist spoke out loud. However, the Ventriloquist found himself unable to. His finger wasn't able to physically pull the trigger. In fact, he felt no movement in his left hand at all. That extra mental push Nina placed into the finger's nerve had sent a shock of pain through the frail fingers of the Ventriloquist. This in turn had acted like a short circuit through the man's left hand, rendering it useless for the next 30-60 minutes. Whatcha waiting for Dummy?!?!"I can't Mister Scarface! For some reason I can't feel my hand!!" the Ventriloquist began to yell. Arnold Wesker was forced to drop the revolver right by the woman, and stood up It was then that the Ventriloquist finally realized that Robin had arrived to join forces with Batgirl. Arnold Wesker looked back at Mugsy in a panic and shoved Scarface towards the mook. The Ventriloquist lost his footing for a moment, a reaction to Rhino smashing into the wall from Robin's kick. "Mugsy' the Dummy is useless! Gi've him the bag of goodies and unload on those mugs!!" Scarface ordered back in the ‘real world.’ dcanimated.wikia.com/wiki/Mugsy(-Bio on Mugsy) Mugsy hesitated before slipping the mail bag which was filled with the purses and wallets over the shoulder of the Ventriloquist. Mugsy then stepped forward to stand between the Ventriloquist and the rest of the action, providing cover for their leader in the process. Mugsy pointed the Tommy Gun towards the ----front door. He was aiming at the recovering Batgirl, and Mr. Robin who was just about to engage with the Rhino.

she complimented, with a smile. Now there were two of them, and suddenly she felt less scared. The situation wasn't so worrying, because she wasn't so alone anymore. As much as she could be prone to running off to handle things alone, she certainly appreciated the knowledge someone was there for her. Sure, she could quite well hold her own, and she didn't rely on anyone else being around, but it was that small safety precaution that set her at ease. She didn't see a lot of Robin on patrol, he'd become less attached recently. She'd certainly missed having him around. Rhino slammed into the wall, and it shook the cashier desk she'd been standing on, and Batgirl toppled rather unceremenously onto the floor, though she managed a rather quaint and well rehearsed landing. She was still gaining her strength back after being squeezed halfway unconscious. Her attention was momentarily diverted across to the woman who'd been protecting her briefcase. Whatever was in there was sure worth risking her life for, she thought, wondering what it could be. She had a split seconds decision - go after the Ventriloquist, or wait to witness Rhino's next move... she didn't have to wait long as she watched the oversized man scoop up a lamp. She was momentarily caught between sorting out the real problem at hand - the Ventriloquist - or the large guy about to lamp out Robin. Babs knew he could handle himself, it wasn't a dire situation like she'd been in. But for some reason Babs just had to even the scores, and she wasn't about to let him get lamped by the lump either. She jumped up from her position on the floor, fast executing a low spinning sweep toward Rhino's legs to knock him off balance. Whether she'd managed the quick paced kick she wasn't sure - her attention was suddenly stolen away by the other thug, Mugsy, gun pointed directly at Robin and herself. Leaving no time she sprung toward Mugsy, planning to disarm him too. He was the only thing currently standing between her and the Ventriloquist, and she wasn't about to let him leave. [/ul]

There's never any telling how a person might react to the sudden loss of control over a part of themselves, so there's a tense moment for Nina as she watches the man pointing a gun at her react to her tampering, and when he started yelling that he couldn't feel his hand it surprised her - she'd only intended to immobilize just his finger without touching any sensory nerves. Then again, with her life at stake she couldn't afford to be conservative and thanks to variable anatomy one can never fully predict how any given person would be affected by such tampering. But what's more of a 'known' is that the damage isn't at all permanent and that he can't shoot a gun with that hand and that's enough for Nina.
In fact, it doesn't bother her nearly enough to make her lose her prescience of mind so when the revolver falls next to her she quickly reaches out to slide it underneath herself, next to her briefcase. She doubts that she has any use for a gun - she's never fired one in her life, isn't sure she could if she tried, and her gift is infinitely more useful than a gun anyway. But she certainly doesn't want anyone else grabbing it! Instead she tries to go back into the role of insignificant-person-doing-nothing, though she tries to keep her eyes on the action in case she needs to intervene. A large part of her hopes not - one hand going numb is strange but easily forgotten once it returns to normal; two oddities like that would be extremely suspicious and prompt closer scrutiny, while more than that could very well expose her outright depending on the circumstances. But though there's few things she'd desire less than that, she can't not help if she's really needed.
Case in point: the moment her life isn't in immediate jeopardy, she turns more of her attention toward Batgirl and - oh, Robin arrived while she was distracted. But as she's looking after their welfare, she can hardly help noticing that the man who came to help the one she already dealt with is starting to point his gun toward them. Oh, please don't make her have to do it again! But suddenly she realizes that she has another option; picking up the revolver she points it straight at Mugsy's head and says, "Leave those kids alone or I'll shoot." She tries her best to keep the quaver out of her voice and her hand steady, and though she only mostly succeeds at both her eyes are steady at least. It's a white lie of sorts - she has absolutely no intention of shooting anyone, but if her threat doesn't work she's most definitely going to do something.

Robin landed with easy on the other side of the counter after nailing the large man Rhino in the face. As the man fell backward toward the wall. Robin saw Batgirl trying to regain herself after almost being squeezed to death or near too it. A small tremor shock the floor of the bank as the large man fell back into the wall. Robin tried to keep his balance as he leaned against the counter watching Batgirl take a fall off it, though she managed a nice landing for how weak she must feel at the moment.
"Glad to see your doing all right," Robin replied to her. He had to admit that he did quite miss seeing Batgirl every once in a while. It was always nice to have some company on the lonely patrols when the night was going slow. Compared to Batman, Batgirl was usually more company.
Before Robin had the chance to react to Rhino's next action, Batgirl had beaten him to taking any action against the man. Rhino held a lamp in his hands ready to swing it like a hammer right at him. Batgirl had sprung into action already on the other side of the counter trying to trip the man up. And just as quick as she had gone after Rhino, she was headed straight for the man called Mugsy, pointing his gun right at the two of them. "Batgirl," he couldn't help from calling after her.
Robin took a quick look around as Batgirl went after the armed man. He saw some woman mustering up enough courage to be pointing a hand revolver at the armed man. He heard her refer to them as kids. He blew it off and saw the Ventriloquist not too far off, trying to make a run for it. While Mugsy was in danger of having a gun now pointed at him and Batgirl now going after him, Robin made a run pass their situation and headed for the ring leader of this gang.
Robin was going to take his chances at trying to take down the Ventriloquist, since it seemed his goons were dealing with their own problems. He knew Batgirl would be able to handle herself against the smaller man and with that civilian armed at least there was someone there to cover. Though rushing at a man pointing a gun at you wasn't exact what Robin would have done in a situation like this. Robin made a run in the direction the little man and the dummy had taken off in. It wouldn't be that hard to catch him as long as there wasn't anyone else in waiting.

Still a little discombobulated from Robin's powerful kick, the Rhino rushed forward like his namesake. Focused on clobbering Robin with the lamp, the large man did not notice Batgirl executing a beautiful rear leg sweep that literally took his feet out from under him. An impressive display of martial arts prowess considering the size of the man. There was another thunderous CRASH that resonated through the bank when the Rhino had fallen. In the far distance police sirens could be heard. Maybe the initial 1-2 squad cars responding to the silent alarm. They would be there in time to subdue Rhino and whomever else had been incapacitated during the fighting. ****************************************************** Mugsy had just leveled his gun in a steady horizontal position when the woman clutching the briefcase pulled the revolver on him. "Leave those kids alone or I'll shoot."Mugsy smirked at her, "Yeah rig--h!" His belittling response was interrupted when the Batgirl dived and tackled him. Nina had distracted Mugsy just long enough for Batgirl to get the literal jump on him before any shots were fired, thus preventing any stray bullets from catching any of the innocent bystanders in the bank. Mugsy struggled underneath Batgirl, but still held onto the machine gun with one hand. She would have to take him out before trying to chase Scarface. If she did not, he would get up and begin firing. Regardless, with his free hand, Mugsy grabbed and held onto Batgirl's cape, hoping to impede any further pursuit she was going to try. ****************************************************** The Ventriloquist and Scarface had not hesitated to take off running towards the rear of the bank. They had to resort to plan B, and Scarface was anticipating for Mouse to be in the alleyway waiting for them. Mouse had been the newest member of the gang and was still on a "trial" basis. Thus he did whatever he was told, without question and with nothing less then 100% of his effort. He wanted to run with the Ventriloquist that much. Once' 'gain ye disappoint Dummy. First yer father. Then yer mother. Now ME!" "Please don't say that Mister Scarface."Scarface would not leave his head. Arnold was not sure why he was unable to shoot the girl. Why he had lost movement in his hand. Was it his psychological nerves and anxiety acting up? Or was his hand legitimately physically damaged after Batgirl had kicked the machine pistol from his hands? The Ventriloquist still carried the mailbag filled with the wallets and purses from the customers of the bank around his shoulders, in addition to holding and carrying Scarface. The Ventriloquist removed his ski-mask before bursting through a door that was labeled "Fire Exit." He could literally feel, Robin only moments behind him. Opening the fire exit door caused the fire alarms throughout the bank to go off. There was no sprinkler system because no one had actually pulled an alarm. The fire exit lead into a wide back alley, large enough to fit a armored security truck through for pick up and deliveries of money. Up ahead, 15 yards away was Mouse and the running Black SUV. The driver's side door was wide open. dcanimated.wikia.com/wiki/Ratso(Picture of 'Ratso' Aka Mouse.) "Mouse! Hel' me! Dat little 'rat is righ' 'g'ehind us!" The Scarface Mannequin barked, while the Ventriloquist continued forward motion to the get away van. Scarface was determined to escape, even if it cost him the entire gang save for the Ventriloquist. "He t'hat figh'ts and runs away, may liv'e to fight a'nother day."Mouse stepped forward and readied the pump-action shotgun. There was that audible loading of the weapon as Mouse pulled back on the barrel. Mouse stood as the last chess piece, guarding Scarface from the Bat-Family. Scarface and the Ventriloquist were 7 yards away from the SUV when Robin came into the alleyway. And the moment Robin did (Assuming he pursues) BLAM!Came the roar of Mouse's shotgun. OOC Note: The plan is to have the Ventriloquist escape to pursue further plot developments that this scene has setup. However this entire operation cost him his entire gang which is a major blow to his power level. Well done you three

The moment her distraction proved to be successful Nina, hand still shaking a bit, put the gun down in front of herself where she could still guard it from any last minute tricks. But by then all the criminals in the bank had either fled, been subdued, or were being dealt with and she could hear the approaching police sirens so she started taking several breaths to steady her nerves. Everyone had made it out alive, and that had been everything she really cared about from the beginning aside from keeping possession of her briefcase.
But the moment that thought passed through her mind she heard the muffled sound of a shot in the direction she saw that man with the doll and Robin go. Please let that not have hit anyone! But since it came from the alleyway and she's in the bank, she quickly sets that thought aside as useless.
But she's distracted by other matters; around her the other civilians are realizing that everything is coming under control and she hears one of the ladies next to her commenting on how brave she was just then. "I'm a doctor - you learn to think in bad situations," she says, handwaving her involvement and hoping that nobody paid too close of attention to anything she just did.
And, putting those words into practice, she starts asking, "Is anyone feeling light-headed? Shaking? Trouble-breathing? Racing heart?" as she looks through the group of anyone showing signs of shock, even though the most any of them would likely need is to have someone tell them to lay down, to take deep breaths, and that everything was going to be okay now. She could probably use a bit of that herself, though telling herself it's okay isn't nearly as effective for her as distracting herself by making herself useful.

Robin was hot on the Ventriloquist tail, as the man ran for an emergency fire exit. He had a feeling there was probably a vehicle in waiting as the get away. It was usually the first time criminals that made a rookie mistake like that. Not only that, it would be pretty dumb for the person or people committing the crime to not have an escape plan. Besides, that took away from the fun of a chase and Robin loved to get the chance to race his motorcycle through the city. But right now wasn't the time to think of this as any type of a game. These men had been armed and were more than willing to have taken a life back there. And if there's one thing Robin can't stand, it's when innocent lives were at stake.
Follow suit of the small man and the dummy, Robin kept on after him. The Ventriloquist ran through the exit doors and the fire alarm sounded right away. Robin kept on running toward the door, not knowing that there was a man ready to take fire at him. He knew though to always keep alter in a situation like this. He could hear the Ventriloquist yelling at someone out in the alley.
Robin ran through the door way and went to turn to continue after the Ventriloquist. As he had been coming around the door, at a glance he spotted the man standing down the alley way taking aim at him. The loud bang of the gun firing off, give him little to no time to react. He had barely seen the man from around the door, but just enough that Robin had known the man was out there. If he hadn't heard the Ventriloquist voice, Robin probably would not have been aware of the man out there at all. He had a quick enough reaction time to act quickly to the situation. Robin dove off to the side hoping there was something along the alley way to take cover behind. It happened so quickly that Robin felt something graze over the skin of his upper left arm. If he hadn't dove like he had, that bullet would have hit him.
Robin tucked before he hit the ground to allow himself to roll for cover of a near by dumpster. He was lucky there was something in the alley way. This gave him the chance to pull out a batarang from his utility belt. He quickly returned fire at the man who had shot at him by throwing the batarang at the man's hands, in hopes of knocking the gun out of his hands. And before Robin could see the results of his action, he grabbed for some type of lasso as well. He threw the 'bat-lasso' at the man's legs, to try for the nylon cord to wrap around them. This would prevent the man from being able to make a run for it.
As he now knelt along side of the dumpster, he lifted his right hand and ran it down the side of his upper left arm. For the most part, Robin was not all that much in pain. The bullet had just grazed the skin. It felt numb and stung a little all at once. He slightly winced as he removed his hand from his arm to see the blood that was now on his right glove. He looked at the brush by and saw blood starting to trailing down his arm. Nothing more than what some cleaning up and a bandage over top couldn't take care of, Dick thought.
(ooc: hope this was alright, can change if needed.)
