Red Hood was perched on top of a stack of ammo crates, a duffel bag on his back. He awaited the arrival of two white vans. Each carried something illegal, from guns, drugs, to maybe even prostitutes. All Jason knew is that a deal was going on and he had had to stop it. He had a AK-47 at the ready and all he needed was a signal.
The white vans stopped just where Jason thought they would and began unloading their cargo. It was several shipments of illegal drugs. He faintly heard them talking below and decided it was the time he intervened. He sprayed the bullets in the air to grab the attention of the dealers whose mouths both dropped in fear.
Jason stood just beneath the moon on these ammo crates, whether it was merely coincidental or on purpose it gave Jason just the amount of fear factor that he needed from these low-lifes.
"Alright - listen up. You've walked into your own traps and lead a life of crime that will end here. I'm going to give you precisely 10 seconds to explain to me why I should spare you garbage."
The thugs instantly started firing, but each was a terrible shot and couldn't hit him for anything. When they realized that they weren't doing much they finally stopped and just looked at the red masked vigilante with a mix of fear and anger
"Who the heck are ya an' what makes ya think we're afraid of ya?" Stuttered one of the criminals. With that, Jason dropped the duffel bag and a head came rolling out. "This is one of your associates, your friend, right? I caught him trying to kidnap a woman and as you can see he paid for his crime." Jason remarked. "and now you shall pay for yours." With that, the sound of bullets overcame the usually quiet dock and the bodies of the thugs and dealers fell limp.
Jason could have sworn he heard something moving from behind him, but he ignored it. He grabbed the can of gasoline that he had also stored in the duffel bag and poured it on top of any evidence that there was a deal here. From the vans to the drugs, everything was decently covered in gasoline. With that, Jason lit a match and let it go and he smirked as the fire began, and he opened his arms as if to embrace that growing flame.

There wasn't just something moving about on those docks. Better yet it was someone. A someone who was a name on the streets now a days.
At this point he had come too late to stop the bloodshed of the gang that now lay on the dockyards. Another gang taken down by the Red Hood.
Dick knew of this criminal, self called vigilante, when he had gotten the reports from the mainframe of the bat computer. Not only that, the news was covering the unusual murders going on at an increased rate in Gotham. And Nightwing had gotten word on the street over this matter.
There he stood witnessing the burning of the evidence and he had caught Red Hood red handed.
He had gotten there just in time to see how confident this criminal was. He thought no one would be able to touch him. That burning the evidence would be the end of that book. Wrong.
Nightwing threw two wingdings in the man's direction and came out charging, escrima sticks ready to make contact with the helmeted figure.
"You know there are better ways to dispose of trash like this on the streets than leaving blood everywhere," Nightwing spoke up as he swung the right escrima with a combination to follow of a spin kick from the right then a low sweeping kick to the left to try and trip the goon up.

Jason smirked, he recognized that voice. The very voice that to this day, still burns fire in his eyes. "You don't get it do you, poster child?" Red Hood taunted with a chuckle as he observed his predecessor. Of course as soon as they met eyes a battle ensued, Dick took it upon himself to start it of course. But Jason was going to finish it. "The blood, it's the message. The message that burns the fear of death into the hearts of criminals." Jason dodged a couple of his moves but still took a couple hits. Jason lunged himself, twirling his knife and slashing in several combinations towards Nightwing and finishing it off with a round of bullets in that same direction.
He had to admit, Dick was good. But Jason knew he was better because he could go past the lengths any of his former family couldn't.

"Poster child? That's a new one," Nightwing started in with the chit chat as they got started.
Just because Nightwing was a bit chatty when he fought didn't mean he wasn't paying attention. It was rather amusing to see that there was a lot of focus yet even with the talk. It was merely away to distract the opponent.
The next part of the Red Hood's message, Nightwing was already well aware that this guy would pull out all the tricks. Someone not afraid to take a life...a no brainer at this point.
Landing a few hits was going to mean little to nothing during this segment of the fight. He could tell the guy was fit and well trained. Most thugs would have lost more ground than what this guy had.
Then to turn it around that quickly and strike back...yep, well trained and practiced. Of course a weapon would be the first choice.
Nightwing went on the defense at that time to avoid the blade being thrusted at him. He was able to dodge a great deal of the thrusts. There were one or two that had grazed his suit. The armor was doing its job protecting him. So no contact with his body was truly made. It would take the right amount of force and knowing the weak points in the kelvin suits that most of the bat-family used. Nightwing's being slightly modified in comparison to the bat suits considering his abilities in acrobatics.
"There are better ways to get a message across, Helmet head. I think you've got that on too tight," Nightwing replied before the gun was pulled out.
As soon as that happened, Nightwing took right a way to doing a tumble pass with a back handspring to duck out behind some crates off the the left. Ok, that was a bit close for comfort.
This guy would shot him point blank if he got to close. Though that seemed to be the only way to shut him down. He'd have to keep at it. So it was time to pull some of his own tricks.
Nightwing made a move to get closer in. Then he pulled out some flash pellets throwing them straight at Red Hood. He then came up from behind, hitting at the Red Hoods knee first.
The goal to bring him down just a bit and swing a right hook at him as he were to take a tumble after the blow to the knew. And with that he'd do another combination of mixed fighting then to bring out the escrima sticks again.
If that failed he's turn on the electric pulses in his escrima sticks.

Red Hood smirked, ultimately giving into the force of Nightwing's attacks. Nothing he couldn't handle unfortunately, he was beaten with a crowbar, blown up, and then resurrected after all. He kept from the chit chat, as much as he could. Jason was loud of course and it was hard to silence him, especially when he's angry.
But he knelt down in submission, cleverly hiding the detonator in his gloved hand. When the time came he would strike and press down on the button. If he had learned anything from Bruce, is that sound is just as lethal as any other weapon. So the plan was simple, he already had put earbuds in pre-fight. So when Dick got close and the battle got rough he'd press the button and a sonic, screech-like sound would erupt from what would seem like every angle.
Then of course if that didn't work, there was always fighting back unexpectedly.

Nightwing saw that his attacks were successful. Though it seemed too easy....
He had observed a decent amount already by the return attacks from Red Hood. Especially with how quick he was to counter and use a blade then pulling out a gun at the time.
There was no sure way to tell what kind of training this goons has had. It was obvious that there was years of master hand to hand combat.
And submitting that soon left Nightwing alert to any coming attacks.
"Tired already," Nightwing said.
Maybe not a smart move at that moment, but this guy could pull a gun out at close contact.
In that moment, he swung his escrima stick at the Red Hood. He wanted to make sure he was at least hurting more to make sure a close contact attack would be at bay for the moment. Something wasn't right about this crook.

Red Hood smirked as he pressed down on the detonator that made several speakers erupt with a sonic screech, hoping that it would fulfill it's purpose and distract Grayson enough. After the detonator he was met with a fur of attacks from Dick's escrima sticks, of which he managed to dodge every other swing, but his armor was padded enough that the escrima sticks really had no effect.
He fired a point blank shot at his attacker's direction, performing a back flip to help increase the distance between the two. He kept his knife in check just in case he needed to make a quick jab. He needed to keep his ground against Grayson, which was completely possible.
He just needed to survive this fight and move onto the next, which knowing Grayson could be a challenge.
Although he already knew enough about Grayson to make this a bit easier on himself.

Ok the sonic sound had left him with a ringing in his ears, he'd push on. There was no way he was going to let this helmet headed crook get away with blood on his hands.
Noticing the little difference in speed of his opponent's attacks, he could figure out that his hits where having little to know impact on the guy. Alright, so he was well suited for this kind of combat.
Nightwing was figuring out this guy more and more as the fight progressed. He was skilled and had probably had some type of formal training in the arts of fighting. As well as well prepared for combat. Assassin? That was a possibility.
He either had studied the moves of vigilantes before and knowing he would have to face of against hime or he was a quick learner in studying his opponent's movements. There was no way someone would know all of Nightwing combination attacks! Not on the first meeting.
This fighter was driving Nightwing the need or the want to know who this person was.
Nightwing dodged off to one side to avoid the shot that had been aimed at him. Though seeing the Red Hood backing off, he knew it was to stand ground. All the more reason to keep his attacks quick and aim for where it would cause the most damage.
Nightwing switched on the electricity in his escrima sticks. It was time to kick things up a notch.
He didn't give the Red Hood any recover time before he came charging back in. First he gave a fake out jab with his right as he darted his left first down at the Red Hood's side of the ribcage. With a combination to try and job him in the neck with the shock of the escrima stick.
If that was dodged, he would follow through with a low swipe kick and then a driving upward punch with his right first.

Jason gritted his teeth and let out a groan to help release some of the pain before swiping a kick down at Dick to attempt to knock him down in a furious frenzy of attacks.
Swipes coming at Dick from a knife in what seemed like every direction. He'd studied Dick as Robin and now here he was using those moves against him. It seemed Dick was catching on, which wasn't good.
That meant that he was being studied, traced for the slightest bit of identification as the two former adoptive brothers fought in the dockyard. Finally releasing himself from Nightwing's attacks, Jason forced his grappling gun out of his pocket, slipping the AK-47 on his back and aimed in the distance for a vantage point.
He zoomed off, the familiar sound of the pulleys at work whistling through the wind as he attempted his escape which Jason personally knew was not coming easily.
Especially not in Nightwing's company, but Jason wouldn't mind that as it would give him the chance he's always wanted to slam his boot into his predecessor's face.
Dick had some blame to own up to for how Jason behaved, if it weren't for Bruce's constant comparison and urge for Jason to be like Dick just maybe he would have lasted longer. Maybe he wouldn't have felt so eager to prove himself and thus wouldn't have met Joker at the business end of a crowbar with a accompanying explosion.
The fact that he was here now, and had the ability to exact his vengeance on the wrongdoers of Gotham was satisfying enough but the fact that he could avenge his own death made Jason far beyond what he used to be. He was crazed, bits of his sanity had been stolen by the Lazarus as he would take the plunge into the mystical liquid.

Nightwing managed to dodge the start of the attacks. The knife slashing a bit of the material of his suit but not cutting through it.
This guy was too good...he knew every which way Nightwing was about to dodge. His agility was usually quick enough to keep him out of range from the end of a knife against some of the top assassins. This guy was different.
He couldn't be that quick of a study. It seemed only Batman and Deathstroke were that quick to do an analysis on their opponent.
As soon as the two broke apart in their attacks, the Red Hood was making a run for it. Ha, fat chance Nightwing was going to just let him get away that easily.
Not a moment later, Nightwing pulled out his own line. Aiming it in a similar direction. He had another trick up his sleeve.
Nightwing pulled out another cord line that was weighted. It would be just enough to get the cord to wrap. And that's all he would need as he threw them at the Red Hood's legs. At which time it would wrap, Nightwing would jerk down on the line to heave the man down.
His was ready to fire of another line if need be and had his wingdings at hand. He wasn't about to let this scum go.

"Pathetic, Grayson." Jason shouted, a smirk forming under his red helmet as he attempted to cut away at the line wrapped around his feet but to no success, zooming back down with the field of gravity and hitting the cold hard pavement of the dockyards with a groan, eying around he still saw the small flashing lights from the micro bombs he had set up.
With one quick press down on a button in his belt, he rolled into cover as they went off, hopefully taking Grayson with them in the process as Jason lay aching on the floor from his fall. Alive or not, Jason was feeling the need to share his feelings. "Y'know, he always compared me to you." He shouted out angrily, tears forming in his eyes. "ALWAYS!" He shouted again, holding the shoulder he had landed on as he got up, pulling out his pistols and putting them together to make a rifle.
"Do you know how hard it was, to try and follow in your footsteps like he wanted me to? Do you? Huh?" He asked, looking through his rifle's scope for any heat signatures, which where harder to distinguish when almost everything in here was in flames. Grayson could be burning alive and he wouldn't know until the flames died down and his ashes were present.
"I tried so hard, so hard and it didn't even matter in the end." He shouted out, ready to fire at Grayson if he ever saw the pretty boy pop out anywhere visible on his scope. "

This guy had a quick tongue, speaking before he would see the results. Nightwing smirked at the reaction as the Red Hood was slammed down into the docks. Never underestimate your opponents equipment.
Though there was one action that caught his attention. The Red Hood moved his finger to press something. That was not good....
Before he knew it, the surrounding area was going up in explosive flames. Nightwing have just enough time to jump away from the Red Hood, more toward the water front of the docks. But the explosion was so strong that it pretty much sent him flying through the air. Sending him flying into the side of a large cargo crate. Slightly out of sight from the Red Hood.
Dick could hear the words of the other man. The rage in his voice. He knew that voice from some where. And the rest of what he was shouting was just confirming his memory. It couldn't be...could it?
There was only one person that would know who knew almost all his counter attacks. Jason? Dick though he was dead,
Nightwing started to shift a little, he wondered if he didn't hit his head too hard when he got sent into that crate. Sure enough, the words being spoken was coming from the helmet head. And he was even getting ready to attack yet again. This time setting something bigger up as Nightwing got back to his feet, staying out of view.
So was this his way of getting revenge on those who had worked with him in the past? Dick was starting to wonder if Bruce even knew who the Red Hood really was. All this yelling over his history and rage was enough evidence to sum it up for Dick.
At this point Nightwing was going to have to watch his step. The helmet head was looking through a scoop. Getting out of his sight range was best. And with that Nightwing threw a smoke pellet out in the Red Hood's direction. And made his move. The flames and smoke combined with his own weapon only creating a thicker smog.

He had forgotten how clever his predecessor had been in the past and how he had been improving since Jason's death. Jason had always been behind the other Robins in their skills but never by much and the League's training did give him enough of a boost to be caught up in the modern day. There were some tricks he had forgotten no doubt, they were always improving and he was working opposite of them to try and improve how he'd react.
He'd studied them beforehand as a Robin though so he knew their techniques, their fighting styles and how to counter them but there were still some new attacks he had experienced that of course resulted in him being as damaged as he was scoping out the area in an attempt to find his predecessor's new hiding place.
"Y'know, your name does really suit your personality" He taunted as went back and forth in the area with his sniper, where had Grayson gone exactly? He didn't know and frankly it irritated Jason as he fired three warning shots at some suspected vantage points but with more results.
"Gotta hand it to you, even Bruce didn't put up this much of a fight." He shouted out again in an attempt to get some sort of reaction that would lead him to Grayson's location. It was a wide dockyard after all and there was only so much ground he could cover, so even the slightest hint to his hiding spot would be better then just surveying the area for a small signature that was more then likely masked in the shadows beyond anything else. "C'mon Grayson, where the heck are you?" He muttered.

Damn.....he knew there was going to be something waiting for him once he came out. It seemed Jason had a how arsenal on his persons. This wasn't going to be easy to try and scope things out. For one he knew if he would go with a snipe weapon, the scope would leave him with a limited view.
Though what ever training Jason had continued to work on was showing. His speed had increased on attention to reaction time. He knew their moves. At least what he had grown with as a former Robin. Times had changed. So Nightwing knew that if Jason as well trained in his fighting, he would be alter to everything around him rather than focusing on a scoping target.
There was only one way to find out wasn't there? Nightwing couldn't just sit behind the cargo the entire time. Jason's taunts fell upon deaf ears. It was pointless in trying to anger Dick in this way, he wasn't going to fall to such a low trick.
So Bruce had faced off against Jason already. Wonder how that out come went. Wonder if Bruce knew that this was Jason...thoughts ran through Dick's mind over the matter now.
Shaking the thoughts from his mind, he needed to focus. And he was going to give it his all out attention. And sitting here was getting him no where. It was time to kick it up.
Nightwing kept it low key as he moved around the cargo area. He needed to get up and close to take out the Hood. Those long range weapons would leave Jason with a limited view for the time. Which meant a blind spot.
Nightwing had left a grapple line set to a device so he could fire it off. It would be a decoy to distract Jason. He waited a moment. After he was able to get down wind of the smoke, he could see the gleam of the Hood's helmet as the flames engulfed one of the warehouses.
He waited a moment more and then set the grappling line off. It would fire off, aimed a good distance from Jason. And as soon as he would turn to react and expect a figure to come forward, Nightwing would throw a wingding at the Hood from his current location. And would quickly fall back again to another location if Jason would not be hit by his weapon falling for the trick. If it worked, Nightwing was going to rush him.
