Diana had been having a pretty good few weeks. She had just gotten back from home and she was staying in Gotham a few days so she could see Selina and Julia before she was off to Themyscira for a few weeks to see her mother and sisters.
To start it off she went to a small coffee shop that she liked to get a chilled cofee machiato thing that tasted like coffee magic to her. She was meeting Selina there and was a bit early so she ordered herself the drink and went to find a seat to talk with Selina.
Today it was gloomy out, it almost looked like it was about to rain. She always loved when it rained.

The rain always brought about nostalgia for her. Even thought it made Gotham more dreary and grey and just sloppy, she still endeavored to enjoy it. She had dressed for the impending storm in boots coupled with a skirt for the day.
Thankfully it didn't take long to locate the little cafe, a smile on her face as she had ordered a strong espresso with cream, natch, and settled in near the window to catch up with the Amazon.
"I can't believe you're headed back home for a while. Are you sure we can't convince you to extend your time in Gotham?" She started, hands wrapped around her mug of steaming wonderful.

"I'll be back," Diana responded with a sweet smile. "I just need to go home for a bit and help my mother with a few things. Plus I have to make sure I'm keeping up with my emissary duties. Wouldn't be much of one if I didn't report back sometimes and they don't exactly have cell phones back home," she responded. It was mostly banter, partly default answer to people begging her to stay. Besides, she would very much enjoy going back home even if it was for just a little bit. Get away from the city, the noise. It was nothing like home.
"I always find that Gotham looks so grey when it rains," she started with the other woman.

The resulting answers and explanations allowed Selina for a rather repugnant scrunching of her nose. No words were needed to express her dislike for the Amazon's leaving, but she dully understood work commitments. As well as family.
"Well, I can't begrudge you time to see your mother. And I wasn't aware you had such a luxury as no cell phones back home!" She teased slightly, while also relishing the idea of no one pestering.
Glancing out the window Selina had to compare and contrast a moment of the cities she had lived, and how they measured against Gotham in the rain.
"Grey is a fantastic way to put it. Gloomy, then dirty, even. I hate wet hems of anything, which is why I wore boots, and a skirt. Better footwear being damp than fabric. Is the rain, well, it's different back home for you, no?" She laughed abruptly, shaking a bit of fog from her head as she struggled with her words. "Excuse me, I'm not the best conversationalist until I've had my coffee. But it's got to be something else, rather than grey and gloom?" Hopefully that made a bit more sense.

"Depends on the storm really," Diana admitted honestly. "Most of our rain is a lot less... tame than this. The fog is fun though. I love when a thick fog rolls over the island and you can't see a foot in front of your face. Makes for the most fun games of 'find me' that you can play because they could literally be right next to you and you may not know. It takes a lot of effort to use your senses in a situation like that."
Diana smiled to the other woman. "But the storms are often a lot darker and far more windy."

Nodding enthusiastically, Selina has to agree. Her face is a clear show of shock as she would have thought the rain would be, what? More pleasant if anything.
"That sounds like a trip. I would have thought in the lush green of your home, the rain would be something else. Warm. A downpour. But more windy and darker? That caught me off guard." She's not one to show her ignorance, or when she's wrong. But it really does depend on who she's talking to. With Diana, she has nothing to prove, save friendship. Even then it's not a competition.
