It was rare that the blonde bombshell was allowed to leave the comfort of Hill Manor with Two-face hot on the family’s trail. This particular evening would be a rare exception for the heavily-guarded heiress as it was a very special occasion: her younger brother’s birthday. Piper had occupied the past few weeks organizing and planning the event, scheduling the various appointments and insuring that the party would go according to plan without a detail out of place. Security was obviously tight considering the family in question, but all of Gotham elite were sure to attend as well as a handful of Jordan’s friends. The event was formal, and while it was a celebration for the twelve year old boy, it was clear who this event really revolved around – her father, the mayor.
Anything with his last name on it was sure to attract the attention of the media. The arrangement of people that occupied the guest list was more familiar with Hamilton than his young son. While they still brought a various display of gifts for the young boy it was clear that this arrangement was going to be more beneficial for his father than Jordan. The event gave the Mayor the opportunity to schmooze and make both promises and alliances – all of which he had his daughter to thank.
Speaking of which, Piper held a full glass of champagne in her hand as she took in the scene. Everything was perfect – from the music to the decorations. The compliments continued to pour in and it seemed as though the image of reckless party girl had been put on hold for promising event planner. The blonde smiled at the idea, almost proudly examining the ballroom and each elaborate detail. Maybe this was something that she could invest more of her time in.
Her father surely seemed happy, making his rounds around the room to address Gotham’s elite. He sent some in her direction to credit her for the event and she flashed him a white smile each time. He seemed almost happy with her – something she hadn’t experienced in such a long time. In between conversations she contemplated the idea of possibly taking this event-planning thing to an entirely new level rather than wasting her talents reading the self-centered tabloids that littered her home. She looked to each member of her remaining family and it appeared as if they were having a good time. Bright smiles illuminating all of their faces, including her own, Piper took a quick sip of her champagne as she watched the event unfold.
Everything was perfect, capturing her little brother’s personality perfectly. Piper was so engrossed in her own work that she almost didn't notice when she was approached. The young woman was full of charm, eager to speak of her accomplishment with the arrangements. Her little brother insisted on some sort of pirate theme - so she considered it loosely with the decorating. With the term 'buried treasure' constantly surfacing in her head as she choose the appropriate lighting and decor, she knew that he younger brother would be impressed - even if everyone was dressed formally instead of tacky costumes.
notes: open! however, realistically it is only open to members of Gotham elite or a party crasher. Multiple can join. I'm debuting a new side of Piper. So give my little hostess some love. setting: ballroom decorated by Piper outfit: click here!

Being connected to the grapevine was a boon. Through a friend through a friend he had heard of the Mayor's newly 'reformed' daughter hosting a party. Conveniently it was a birthday party for her brother. If he hadn't smelled 'ploy' he would have thought it as he stepped into the themed venue. Champagne at hand he sipped as he took in the decorating.
It was not bad. Perhaps a novice's touch but it was much better than the antics she usually indulged in being whispered amongst Gotham's elite. With glass of bubbly in hand, his other thrust casually into his trouser pocket he was soon engaged in conversation by a local chef from a neighboring restaurant to one of his own newly owned. Cards were exchanged between the two men as they swapped different pairings of protein and aperitif. As much as he was still considered a 'newcomer' to Gotham he was making his own way in the entertainment venues. Mostly those that required food and drink. So more of Gotham's upper crust was trending toward recognizing the Frenchman with ease or were now wanting to at least experience the man who was making such waves on the American shores.

Rooster hadn't necessarily been invited, but that was likely because the Mayor was unaware of such a woman in Gotham. She showed up anyway after hearing about the guest list. She was likely well known enough now among others on the list that if she had any problems she would have someone back her up, or she could just swing a punch in someone's general direction. Either way, it suited her fine. She had arrived in a fine and simple canary yellow dress and silver stilettos. Her eye patch tonight was an electric blue. Her nails were red and shined like justice. She didn't take long to begin mingling, though her arrival had been a bit explosive to say the least. Despite the poise and style in her looks and attire Rooster could never stop being Rooster. Her voice always so thick with her accent and her smile always full of so much dare and danger. As she moseyed about she had ended up settling on mingling with a group that seemed to be about half way as boisterous as she was. As they all shared stories of their recent travels, a couple of them began to discuss things like fox hunting and Rooster scoffed a little. At that point they all seemed intrigued to know what made her scoff. "Fox hunting? C'mon boys, ain't'cha ever hunt big game? What about alligator? Or Moose?" The gentlemen seemed slightly off put by her ability to emasculate them so quickly. Eventually the group found and excuse to break apart, leaving her to her own devices. She sneered a little once they were gone and went to go get a drink.

Gordon watched Rooster at work, giving a faint smile. That was quite a woman. "You're incorrigible. That was John Jeremiah, Dan Trent and Gregory Waterman. They're connected and untouchable, just ask them, frankly they won't shut up about it."
He smiled as he approached the Ranger raconteur. She hadn't had any more trouble getting in that he did, and frankly Gordon thought that having her around would have made the party more interesting. He'd passed on the invite to her, then taken the time to come in with her. He felt a little out of place with upper crust Gotham society, but somehow kept having to come to these stupid parties. His tuxedo wasn't well fitted or perfectly tailored, it was off the rack and kept on a rack for most of the time, his tie wasn't exactly straight and his hair slightly ruffled.
For the elite set of Gotham, James Gordon was definitely the gatecrasher of the creme de la creme, there more out of respect for his office, and perhaps as a strange suited performer for those in power. Hero Cop, Reluctant Politician, Dancing Monkey, Gordon wished he was back on the street with the grit of the sidewalk under his soles and the chill of the night in his eyes. He trusted the streets more, they were more honest. The knives came from the shadows or from the madmen in front of you. Here, the knives came hidden and with smiles. He didn't feel at ease in this world, and he never felt like he had good backup.
Maybe that's why he wanted Rooster along with him. She traveled the right circles, sure, but she was good backup. She understood and didn't have much fear of emasculating the power set. She didn't have to juggle them like he did, although some days he thought long and hard about pushing his luck and making the right sort of people more angry.

Rooster had her back to Gordon. She turned her head to him, and her body was now half turned toward him as well. She looked at him, now to the side of her with a wicked little smile. She chuckled a bit and finally sighed.
"Ha! They can go cry to the hookers they probably got hiding under their beds!"
Rooster noticed his tie was a little off kilter. She turned more fully to him and stepped to him. They had met after having a close call in a gas station they just happened to be in at the same time a robbery took place. She liked him, he was interesting. Lex on the other hand, she'd gone on with him for a bit, but after the gala she became more and more bored with him, finally choosing to end it peacefully. He was too in love with himself to keep her interested, and far too busy.
Since the night at the gas station Rooster found herself running into Gotham's prudent police commissioner more and more often. One thing she particularly liked about him was how down to earth he was. Instead of running into him at some high-dollar restaurant or club she had run into him at a burger joint that barely looked like it could seat twenty people at one time. He was the salt of the earth and she quite liked that.
At a certain point numbers were exchanged, they'd crossed paths a few more times, and now here she was, attending some party with him because he was the one who slipped her the invite. He never specifically asked her to go with him, but she could tell he needed someone on his arm that could take some of the social heat off of him. She didn't mind and it would be fun.
She straightened his tie and tightened his vest just a bit to make the whole thing look a little less like he didn't give a damn when he threw it on. It almost made her laugh, it was awesome. He, in his more subtle way than hers, was letting the room know he could care less and he didn't give a damn. Then again, he still had to play this little game with them and pretend to be interested in them. That's where Rooster was at her best, she was just too much woman for the lot of them, so boom, they ran away in fear. And now that they knew she was here with Gordon, well that could only do the commissioner wonders.
Once she straightened him out she fell into step beside him, her left arm slipping around his right bicep, long red nails pressing ever so slightly, she smirked to the room ahead.
"You cover my blindside, won't'cha, sugga sug? Hmmm?"
Rooster didn't even let Lex on her blind side, she didn't trust him any further than she could throw him. Gordon would be her left eye without question, she was sure.

Harvey was so happy there was so much food. He was trying not to be a pig, but oh god so much good food. He did look super spiffy in his outfit, though, hopefully he could keep from getting any stains on those white slacks. He was making quick friends with cheese and wine when he realized his date was missing. He looked around for her and ended up standing next to some French guy. "Hey, you seen a dark haired woman running around about this tall with looks that could kill?" Harvey's eyes continued searching. He ended up spotting Rooster and the Commissioner. A brow raised a little. I thought... eh forget it. Rooster does as she pleases. At least the commish looks happy enough."He looks a bit smitten..." Harvey observed aloud. He continued his visual search for his date. He didn't like her being out of his sight. He was a needy man, like that...

When the invitation had originally hit her attention, she'd nearly dropped her coffee. Blinking once, then twice she's read it over, and realized that after their weeks of running through the cityscape, something had gotten through to the not quite vapid socialite. Piper wasn't stupid, but for some reason she had thought that was a way to make her mark in life. With her pretty face and dumbing down things.
But this, now this was something else. As she ticked off her RSVP and personally walked it down to the front desk to make sure it was sent, she smiled, shooting the young woman a text. It was then promptly that she went into her closet to pick something out for the bash. And a gift for the mayor's son, of course. While it was a thinly couched endeavor for a gathering of Gotham's Golden Children, Selina could see the endeavor as a fantastic way for Piper to also show off her blossoming skill as a party planner. Which Gotham could use, to be honest, considering a few of the last events she had been to were ...interesting.
Day of she'd had to stifle a bit of a smirk. She'd gone with a purple frock, while Theo had gone with something nautical, almost. Fitting for a pirate themed party that was fantastically executed through the venue in not a campy way, but with an artistic touch that honestly shocked the brunette.
As she broke off from her date's arm with a promise to return in minutes, she was already off and seeking the hostess, and proud older sister. Of course en route she was stopped numerous times to talk of this or that, but finally, finally she was able to come upon Piper; opening her arms and warmly embracing the gorgeous blonde. Her dress was something that piqued envy in Selina; a gorgeous blush color in a cut that was to die for and set the young woman apart with ease. Blinking, she stood at arm's length to not only appreciate the outfit, but the execution of the entire party so far.
"You've done fantastically, Ms. Hill!" Selina congratulated, pointing to not only the food display, but the area where presents had been stacked for the man, or boy of honor within an ornate treasure chest. "With this theme, not tacky, but just enough. You've done fantastically. When are you taking bookings for further events, Piper?" Selina would ask, green eyes slipping to Piper for a second. She'd invest in this venue, because she was always of a mind that Gotham needed more women running things. Rooster had been a breath of fresh Texan air, and now this? She was on board. "Hopefully you're taking a bit of time to enjoy yourself as well." She smiled brightly again, divesting two flutes of champagne from a passing themed waiter, and handing one to the blonde, before catching her date chattering with some other guests. She'd return to his side in a while. She knew if she couldn't see him, he'd have an eye on her.

Elise had been sitting cross-legged at her desk, sipping some water she’d infused with orange slices when her secretary had laid out the mail and along with it a classy, colored envelope. When she opened it, she couldn’t help but smile at the invitation to the party Piper was hosting. So the girl was trying to turn a new leaf? Good for her, Elise had seen so much potential in the blonde when she’d met her at the Gala. She had just needed to let herself go, embrace her natural talents and stop worrying about being the scandal for the next day’s paper. It was time for the party to leave the woman. So Elise was quick to RSVP and counted the days until the party. It was true that Elise was new to the social scene in Gotham, but with her company and her networking she’d gained from the gala she was anything but unknown as she arrived in her ivory and black dress. It was classic and very different from the flash she’d shown at the gala. The scene impressed her. It was actually quite nice with subtle accents that spoke of class. Very, very good for a first try and with a little refining here and there, it would have been even better, but there was no doubt that Piper had a talent at this and she’d get noticed. Elise as well would have to ask her to work with her in planning some events. It would give Piper more experience and Elise was always out to make more friends in Gotham. She had only the one in Selina, but that was a friendship built over years and years. Elise was glad to have it, but she needed more connections after all. She peered around trying to find someone she recognized or someone that seemed interesting to talk to. She could see Piper and Selina as a result of the crowd and commotion that was usual at all parties and such events.

A child's birthday party. Not exactly Thomas' taste in parties, but he was invited and also Mayor Hill would be there, the boy's father. Thomas was wearing a grey pinstriped suit with a turquoise dress shirt, adorned with his mother's emerald pendant around his neck of course. The room was nicely decorated, for an amateur of course. The mayor's daughter put this all together, she's a hot mess. Just another lazy socialite giving nothing back to society. But this one, Thomas would have to tolerate. He brought with him a birthday card and written inside "Have a great one kid! Dr. Thomas Elliot". He also placed inside tickets to a Gotham Knights football game and $500 dollars. Sure the spoiled brat doesn't deserve it! But, it is his birthday! He then placed the envelope on the gift table.
Now mingling with a few gentleman and grabbing himself a glass champagne, a favorite, Thomas made his was to the Mayor and spoke with him for a bit. The Mayor thanked him for his generous donation to Gotham City General Hospital and for persuading Dr. Thompkins to become director of it. Better be thanking me, prick! The Mayor had other's to speak with so Thomas said his goodbyes and then made his way to the buffet table. He noticed rowdy woman in a yellow dress, who was just being inappropriate for some people's taste. Not Thomas' he could give two shits about her behavior. Then he noticed the Commissioner. Let's widen our circle, shall we!
He then approached James Gordon and offered him a hand. "Commissioner Gordon, it's nice to see you sir! I'm Dr. Thomas Elliot by the way, son of Roger and Marla Elliot..." I hated to uttered the words who my father was, that bastard. Let him rot in hell! Thomas then began to sip his champagne and then noticed a woman, a woman who he knew. She was speaking to our princess of a hostess. Selina Kyle? Whoa, she's looking magnificent! Thomas was now extremely staring ignoring Gordon. Oh, right back to Gordon!
He then turned his attention back to the Commissioner, still keeping his eye on Ms. Kyle.

Harvey eventually spotted his date chatting up through the room. He moseyed over to her and Piper, sliding up behind Selina. He placed his hands on her waist and pressed her back and backside into him. His head hovered above and to the right left of hers. He wasn't big on public displays of affections, but... Well he didn't necessarily care for all the other schmucks in the room eye-banging his woman.
His lips hovered at her ear and he whispered something to her. Something only she could hear. After he said it he had a bit of a smug look on his face. He straightened back up and came out to her left side, his arm across her back and hand at her waist, pulling her into his side just ever so slightly. He looked like a million bucks and he looked quite pleased about it. He gave a nod to Piper and offered her his left hand for the shaking.
"Miss Hill, nice to see you. I don't believe we have ever met, I'm Harvey Bullock, Lieutenant with Gotham Police's Major Crimes Unit. Great party. Good food, too, but if you host another one don't put out too much cheese, I'll get fat on it."
Harvey smiled and looked to Selina. He grabbed some drink off a tray that whirred by. No champagne for Harvey. He took a sip of it. He realized it was a mojito. Not necessarily his go to kind of drink, but good, nonetheless. He kept his eyes keen around the room out of habit. Eventually his gaze fell between the two ladies again.

With each passing moment, the blonde grew more and more petrified of the situation she had placed herself in. While she did consider herself a social person, these were far from the individuals she associated with. Instead, she simple stood on the sidelines, people-watching. Her father and brother seemed incredibly happy, both have gotten their own wishes and the night had turned into a huge success. Despite her selfish nature, she kept her big mouth shut and demands silent, occasionally issuing several order to the wait staff in order to entertain herself.
As far as invitations were concerned, each guest was allowed to bring a plus one, though that person had to be justified at the door. Basically, the security knew who to look out for and who posed a threat and currently no one appeared to match the descriptions given. Still, it was obvious that each member of the Hill family were a bit paranoid that their event would turn sour very quickly. Taking yet another glass of champagne to calm her nerves, she steered clear of the open bar, despite her desire to hammer back a series of strong shots. She had nothing to worry about at all, especially with so many member of Gotham’s finest wandering around. For a woman who hated cops, Piper was actually relieved at their appearance.
Piper didn’t expect to be approached, but when she did the blank stare quickly subsided and a warm smile graced her pretty face. Her bright blues eyes set on Selina. Setting her emptied flute down on a passing tray, she greeted the woman and couldn’t help but beam at the compliment. “Well of course!” She eyed Selina’s ring. “Are you getting married? Oh my god, Selina! I promise I won’t let you down! He could have done a bit better on the ring though, couldn't he?” she insisted, jumping to conclusions about the beautiful stone. “I loved the entire process. Actually, I think I liked planning this more than actually attending it. It’s so awkward to see all these old women hitting on my father. At first I thought about removing them when he wasn’t looking but I am sure that kicking the visiting baroness out of my brother’s party would make me very popular amongst the press- and not in a good way.” As if she wasn’t already.
But back to business “I actually composed a little presentation, I mean- I had help of course. But if you want to see it sometime I could really use your input before I start looking to present it to investors. I’m really serious about things this time. I want to do this.” The blonde said passionately, taking a sip of her champagne and taking yet another nervous survey of the room. Her eyes fell on the exotic woman she had gone out of the way to personally invite, a smirk playing on her lips when she caught sight of Elise. “Do you know her?” Piper asked Selina, trying not to make it obvious she was starring.
As they were approached by what appeared to be Selina’s plus one, Piper quickly recognized him after his introduction. It was obvious she didn’t get along very well with cops, but she still forged a smile, after all he had not done anything to her personally. “Piper is fine, it’s nice to meet you. Thank you so much for coming.” The blonde bombshell replied, her eyes still straying toward the mysterious brunette.

Babs was running late – as usual. With summer break now in session the young redhead was dedicated to her work, double life and the recent addition of an internship with Lex Luthor. Going the extra mile and ambitiously tackling any projects that he gave her, it was needless to say that the teenager spent a great deal of time obsessing over her perfection. It had only been the course of a week and she was in love with Lexcorp, its technology and its possibilities. Having left the building later than usual, she hadn’t even bothered to change before heading to her next function. Though she didn’t have an invitation, she had been approved to go thanks to her father and his position in Gotham. Not to mention, she had to keep an eye on her dearest daddy. With no time to change and too much dignity to do so in the back of a taxi, she pulled up to the venue feeling very underdressed. Rather than some pretty, expensive dress that she had saved up for weeks to purchase, she was instead sporting a tight-fitting bandage dress that hugged her curves and sharp black heels. With minimal jewelry and only a tasteful amount of make-up suitable for her workplace, she hurried out of the cab toward the elaborate hotel. It was easy to find the ballroom with the noticeable amount of security and a pool of press huddled in the lobby. Her blue eyes scanned the ballroom, taking in the beautiful scene before her. It was glamorous as was every person inside. Babs instantly felt out of place, knowing her business formal attire was nothing compared to the designer brands that coated each body. Trying not to think too much about it, her eyes laid on her father who stood with a woman and younger gentleman. Babs instantly recognized both despite the fact she had not been formally introduced to either. Her photographic memory worked in her favor when it came to faces and names and she started toward the trio with a smile. Realizing she had forgotten to remove the dark-rimmed secretary glasses she took them off and fit them carefully into her clutch, shaking her long red hair so that it fell in waves down her shoulders. Once she approached the group, she gave her father a quick peck on the cheek. “Hey dad, I know I am a bit late. Has Mr. Luthor arrived yet? He’s supposed to be here, I rsvp’d for him at the beginning of the week. Oh well- I am sure he will be here eventually. Oh, hello.” She turned to greet the other two. Babs is wearing thissss

He raised an eyebrow to Rooster saying "There's only so much an eye can do without a body to do something about it and I'm not much of a watching sort of guy. But I'll cover you if you don't run off and get into the middle of something I can't follow into" He stared, eye to eyes with her and raised an eyebrow and says "Still, if you're pissing off the right sort of people, you're off to a good start as far as I'm concerned. Hell, I'm pretty sure half the people in this room wouldn't mind if I were dead."
He shook his head and looked over the assembled group here, no. . . more likely than not more than half of them wouldn't mind if the hero commissioner of Gotham wound up discredited or dead, preferably the latter.
A martyr can be used for a lot of twisted agendas when he's not around to argue his own facts.
Rooster straightened his tie, it was a simple gesture. Something he'd missed since . . . well, it wasn't a bad thing to have someone watching his back too, socially as well as on the streets. He nodded to Selina, he hadn't gotten too close to her, but she was a welcome sight in the station, and Bullock seemed to be getting on with her well, and she'd done a lot for the station. . . and frankly he trusted her a little more than Luthor.
Gordon remembered Selina from when she was a young kid, he never forgot the kids, as much as he wanted to forget after all the years. . . he remembered her when she was a scrappy 13 and pissed off with the world . . . and now she was managing galas and dressed in sequins and jewels worth more than Gordon's annual salary, and Gordon just felt older, a little more rundown, a little more broken, the old scars from the bullet wounds ached a little more each day, and the nights got a little colder, and he had a title and the weight of expectations, patrolling a beat outside of his jurisdiction with people outside of his experience. The rich were not like you and me, he thought to himself. Elliot approached, they made small talk. He remembered the Doctor's parents.
"Elliot, right! I remember your parents. I didn't realize you were back in Gotham. I was sorry to hear about your parents." He shook his head, another kid who lost parents too soon, like Wayne. A lot of kids lost their parents in this town. Elliot was distracted, staring at Selina. . . Gordon couldn't blame him, but his mind was on other things too.
Gordon sometimes felt like a man swept up into events larger than him out of sheer stubbornness, faced with madness and fighting with all his life force for an ideal, and frankly while some people might give up everything to transform themselves into a symbol, Gordon had more important things to worry about than transcending or becoming a symbol of all that was right or wrong. His face lit up a bit as he saw one of them walk in, Gordon was a romantic in some ways, and while Ms. Stone knew that she had Gordon's eye, even she'd know that she'd never be able to take the place of the young woman coming in.
She was dressed beautifully, red hair cascading perfectly, minimal makeup just playing up her features. She fit right in here, even though she didn't dress as expensively or with as much dazzle as some, she was radiant, and Gordon knew it. He had to admit, he was impressed with how his girl was growing up, and while it was hard to be the daughter of a cop, and harder to be the daughter of a civic official, she took to the limelight like she was born to it, moving in a world of more rarefied heights like she was born to shine. Intern to Lex Luthor himself, he couldn't be prouder. She looked more like her mother every day, and Gordon got that little pang in his shoulder again that reminded him of how old he was getting.
"Barbara" He said, smiling "Luthor? I haven't seen him yet, and I'm pretty sure he'd make himself the center of attention if he'd shown up. Have I introduced you to Rooster yet? Oh, and this is Thomas Elliot, his parents were Roger and Marla Elliot, you met them once, but you were very young, I'm not sure you remember."

Diana attempted a low key entrance. She still wasn't sure what Selina had said that convinced her to come to this party. Yes she had been invited, no she wasn't sure why she would attend and yet, here she was. Another white dress, bracers of submission and a smile on her face. It was an interesting party, not that she had been to many. Why a child needed so many adults around, she was unaware. Then again, she was also the only child ever raised on Thermyscira. Perhaps this was a cultural coming of age thing? Similar to fighting back home. As she listened she realized it was really just an excuse for the Gotham elite to rub elbows. Perhaps this would be a good night for the adults but the kid, well she felt bad for what his birthday had turned into. She only knew a little about birthdays but it was to celebrate being alive and well for another year. Not earn votes or investments. Perhaps Gotham's Elite didn't get the memo. As she walked through the crowd she saw Barbara Gordon talking to her father and her eyes lingered for a moment longer then she had intended. She smiled at the commissioner and waved as she went to find herself a drink, and maybe someone to talk to. What she found was a glass of something alcoholic and a spot next to the refreshments for the moment. She should have brought Julia, she would gnaw her ear off so she didn't feel alone in the middle of a crowd of people.

It wasn't long in passing from guest to guest that her turn with Piper was up. Her and Harvey had entered, and parted as need be as she swept through the room, greeting one here, air kissing there, and generally doing the song and dance she had been perfecting for years. And considering Harvey, was, well, Lieutenant Bullock, he had certainly cleaned up well.
She was mid-word when she felt familiar hands on her hips as the tall man stood behind her. Leaning in to him she looked up to give him a smile. She knew he was staking claim, and he had a right. She'd caught the eye of more than one familiar, and unfamiliar face looking her over. And not in the most flattering way.
She was quiet as Harvey introduced himself, and then went beet-red as Piper noted her ring. Ignoring that comment for the time being, she was glad for once that Summer was not within earshot. The news would have hit the press within the hour with that sort of rumor.
"The easiest part is planning, to some. The harder part is acting like you enjoy the attendants," she stated with a wink. "It's part of the game the women play. If you come to an event with me, I'll have to show you the 'harpies.' There is no age range, but it's a group of nasty women that have opinions on who this man, or that man are taking to an event. They've snarked on me more than once because I've been with you-know-who." She mouthed the word 'Bruce,' considering Harvey was hovering so close, his large hand still splayed along her hip.
Nodding as the presentation was mentioned, her green eyes lit up. Now this was exciting. Piper was really making headway. A little part of her wanted to think it was due to their near daily runs, and Selina's influence, but she didn't possess enough of an ego to think she was the sole person making such a good impression on the young woman. "Perhaps we can set up a time-soon, that I can look at it. And then we can tweak it before I host a little viewing party for you?" She was already comprising a guest list. Bruce, Lex, Oswald, amongst a few heavy hitting names she could pull on. Harvey brushed his lips against her ear, and she couldn't help but blushing again, her hand swatting at him, and fingers catching in his 'perfectly' done hair for the evening. He had done up good for the night. The white slacks were questionable, but he made it work. Quite well.
As Piper noted the dark haired woman among the guests, Selina's jaw dropped slightly. "Actually, I do know her. That's my old college roommate, Elise Noble. She's just back from Europe, she sent me a message a few weeks back, but we've missed eachother!" Drawing the blonde into a tight hug, she whispered several things into her ear. "She's single, by the way. And no, not getting married yet, and the ring was his mother's, and she's gone, so it's special. But I'll keep you in mind for the venue, as long as it doesn't leak to the press, hon." Kissing her on one cheek, then the other, Selina released her with a wink at arm's length before turning back to Theo. As they both left Piper to find Selina a drink, she reached out to sneak a drink from his. "I wouldn't have guessed they had these here!" She exclaimed, handing it back to him with a knowing grin.
While meandering around, Selina spotted someone she wouldn't be able to miss anywhere. Even at 5'8", with an added edge of heels to that height, she came nowhere near Diana's stature. Gently tugging at Harvey, she steered them toward Diana, a grin on her face as she reached out to grip the woman at the elbows, a knowing, appreciative look as she took in the woman's dress. It was a pale white concoction that shimmered silver at the bodice. If only she had the Amazon's height, and coloring, she might, just maybe, barely have a chance of pulling it off. As it was, she stuck to what she knew.
"Diana! I am so glad you are here." Kissing the woman on each cheek, she then whispered into her ear: "Interesting attendees, but it's really the older sister, Piper, who I'm here for. So I appreciate you coming. She's trying to turn over a new leaf, and start a business instead of playing the paparazzi star. And she's doing good, I think thus far. She's the blonde over there." Releasing the woman, she discreetly pointed out Ms. Hill in a drapey peach concoction.
"And here I am, being rude. Diana of Themyscira, this is Detective Lieutenant Harvey Bullock." There was a bit of a pause at the end, as Selina didn't quite know how to classify Harvey in relation to her. Their closeness said quite a bit, but knowing Diana, Selina wouldn't even need to add another clarifier. Not even paramour. The woman understood those things that need not be said.
