Harvey's arm was healed up. The last few weeks had been rough, trying, and just shitty. He'd hardly spoken to Selina since the debacle at her place and Charlotte's little melt down. Harvey had to take some time to just get himself squared away, healed up, and cases cracked. He had plenty to do all the time and it seemed like tonight was the first time in weeks he had enough time to actually just be at home and get some time in to listen to a few records, maybe even watch a movie later. When he got home he did the usual song and dance; keys placed upon the small table beside the door along with his wallet, phone, and other contents from his pockets. He hung his coat on the rack along with his hat. He slid off his suspenders and hung his gun on the rack with the coat and hat. He walked toward his wall of records and looked at it while he loosened his tie. He snatched a record from a shelf and walked to his turntable. He pulled the record from its sleeve and placed it delicately on the turn table before starting it and then setting the needle with precision. As music began to play he began pouring himself a drink. He turned the speakers up just a bit before walking over to grab his cigarette case and lighter. He walked to the back of his apartment, through his bedroom. He opened the balcony door and left it open, the music softly moving into the night air. He lit his cigarette and sipped at his drink.

There had been no time to get anything done. She'd been in and out of the GCPD time and time again. She'd had a fun time with Renee, she'd been working to prepare for the Gala. And even now she was eyeballing the clock, having received the phonecall from Renee that she'd asked for. Coordinating anything with Harvey had failed. Days after trying. She'd finally thrown a few non-work clothes into her shoulderbag so she could just stop over. Despite living minutes away, it was either now, or never.
So as she left her office, and grabbed a cab, she made sure to grab a few things at the bakery, and a few other places, tucking her purchases into her bag. She commanded quite a look considering she was still in her heels, her suit-skirt and jacket, as well as her hair done, and the blouse. She largely ignored the looks and cat-calls, quickly making her way back to the car and to his place.
This time she was careful when she took the four flights up, taking a moment or two to compose herself before knocking on his door. He was home; she could tell. Funk was already radiating through the door.

Harvey got distracted when he thought he heard something in his apartment. He ignored it until he heard it again. Cigarette hanging off his lip and drink in hand he headed back in, inching in listening for the sound again. There it was, that knocking. He rolled his eyes once he figured out it was knocking at his door. He grabbed a remote to turn the speaker volume down while setting down his drink. He stepped to the door and straightened his tie.
A moment later the door, after multiple locks being unlocked, was opened. Harvey looked down at Selina with a neutral expression before he groaned and then suddenly his face looked even more tired than before.
"Hey. Long time no see. Come in,if you please."
Harvey stepped aside to allow her in. Once she was in he locked the door back up and turned to her.
"Sorry I hadn't caught you since a while back. I been allover the place. I'm only in for the week and then I'm back out for a few days again."
He went to pick his drink back up, stepping closer to her. He was beginning to recall exactly what had happened the last evening he saw her: he admitted to being a spy, they made out, and then he fell asleep after trying to console an angry teenage girl.

Seriously. What was taking him so long. Unless he was ...ah. Smoking on his bedroom balcony, like he did. She probably caught him decently timed after he got home. Unless...somehow Renee had told him to get home. Hm. Renee was smart. After a series of clicks and the door opening, she offers a smile.
"We've both been busy. Hasn't been...since the range?" She adds quietly before stepping in, her bag lightly brushing his side. She's a sight he probably hasn't seen much; straight from work, all dolled up like the corporate gal she is during the daylight hours. Almost mimicking him, she's in a charcoal grey getup, with a deep purple shirt.
She furrows her brows for a second or two when he mentions he'll be out again. Out doing what? She blinks a time time or two, confusion setting in her face. In the whirlwind of life that is Gotham she's not quite sure what he's referencing.
"Is it at least ok that I'm here?" Well, considering last time she was bodily in his home, it was a sting to catch the Joker, she's a bit wary. Reaching out she plucks his glass from him and takes a sip before returning it and watching him, well, essentially, watch her.

He didn't say anything about the range. He just watched her move and be near for the moment. Eventually, when she plucked the glass and returned it he gave her a nod as he exhaled a cloud of smoke from his nostrils. "It's fine. Sit down, lay down, I don't care. I'll pour you a drink." He went over to his wet bar and poured her something up as well. A few moments later he would step over to her to hand her a drink. He took a drink from his, removing his cigarette for a moment to do so. He replaced the cigarette and stood a little closer to her than he normally did. "So, how you been?" All he could think about was everything. His attention went to the sound system when the second track came on the album. He liked the song, but it was a little energetic. He picked up the remote and turned it up for a second with a smirk. He bobbed his head for a moment before turning it down to a more conversational level.

The absence of a teasing quip did not go unnoticed. Nor did his wandering eye. She was not the sort to act demure and twittering at the attention of a man. She was quite aware when she was being checked out. Admired. Whatever. Be it daylight, or night, she was aware. She wouldn't wear skintight leather to pretend she was clueless.
"I'll sit, after I get out of these heels." She stated, expertly navigating her way in the shoes to where the couch was. Gently she set her glass down and shrugged off her jacket, and her suitcoat. It was almost a mirror movement of what he did, save she had no tie. She'd been about to slip from her heels, and settle into the familiar couch when he brought back her drink which she took gratefully in one hand. A sip later she nodded appreciatively while her other hand went to un-knot his tie and pull it off him. Like normal.
Green eyes flicked to his. She was nearly as tall as him in her shoes, but he still had an inch or two on her. It was nice. "I've been busy. Gala, cases at the station. Kit. What about you?" Her lips pursed as she thought on that. And how there had been a bit of an interruption. She'd been about to apologize, to thank him, to say something when his attention drifted to the music. So she said nothing and took another drink from her glass.

He was quick to return his attention to her. He sat down finally and looked over to her.
"I been busy, too. Just lots to do."
He watched her remove his tie. He sighed under his breath once it came off. It always felt good to get that thing off. He reached up to his collar to undo the buttons there and one or two down the length of his shirt. He pulled at the bottom of it to loosen it from where it was tucked in.
He wasn't in much a mood to talk about work, or checkmate, or really anything or anywhere outside this very room. He looked over to her as he removed his cigarette once again to have another swig of his drink. He would set it down and focus on his cigarette, continuing to look at her in silence, his eyes never left hers.
"It's good to know you're doing well."
He put his feet up on his coffee table and leaned back a little more while he smoked. He turned his gaze from his feet to her again.
"Sounds like everything is coming along nicely, that gala of yours is soon, huh?"
Harvey was attending, calendar marked and all that.

He sat and she followed suit, leaning over and plucking the cigarette from his lips to take her own few puffs. She'd seen him so rarely in the past few weeks she'd taken to stealing a cigarette or two from his desk when he hasn't been around. No one really gave notice but Renee, because she was in his desk all the time anyway. Usually putting things in it, but who cared. She'd rather get it already lit and a quarter gone than sterile and untouched from his desk. It made her feel like a criminal to take them like that. And that was saying something.
Exhaling with gusto she handed the cigarette back and curled her legs beneath her. It was something else to wear a skirt and pull off the relaxed positions she normally did. She could always grab the blanket behind them, but she wasn't cold.
She snorted lightly at his words, her eyes meeting his. "That's a way to put it," ...after fighting with a close friend, almost getting everything resolved, closure, and then the joys of having a teen. "Thank you for helping with Kit, though. And yeah, Gala is coming up soon. It's Luthor's too."
She'd had to cover Harvey up when she'd returned to her bed, as he'd collapsed, and never moved. She'd attributed it to the magical properties of her bed that Summer wouldn't stop raving about. If you couldn't sleep, you could in that bed.

Harvey finally began to crack a smirk to her when she picked the cigarette and returned it to his lips. He finished it and put it out on the tray. He looked to her again and nodded again while picking his drink back up.
"Eh, I didn't do anything. She just yelled at me and smacked me a few times with a pillow. I wasn't much help at all."
He really wasn't. He just passed the hell out. That was something he didn't get to do as often as he liked. He wondered if he would get to sleep much tonight. Things could go many different directions. With a sigh he had another drink and nestled in the couch as if had been missing it.
"So, hmmm. That was an interesting night. Things had escalated rather quickly before they would crash and burn later.
Because I'm an idiot who brings up someone in the next room when things were getting going.
And if there was a feeling Harvey hated to live with it was regret. That was the worst of all the feelings to live with in the detective's own humble opinion.

"At least you tried. And...I didn't know..yeah. Teens are something else." Not that she'd had much experience with parents at her age, but still. Pursing her lips, she let him refresh her own drink as well before he sat back down.
She watched him work, and relax. This was a long overdue conversation, and they both knew it. "You needed to sleep, and yeah. It was interesting." She didn't quite know how to say that things were still there. Or had been aware if he caught that she wore the ring, still, and hadn't taken it off since he'd put it back on her finger.
She could tell he was mulling over something. And he wasn't happy about it. So with as much dignity as she could without her skirt riding up she scooted to sit beside him as she turned her head up to look at him. "Get outta your head, Theo. You just go down a path you don't like if you can't get it out of your system. Talk to me. We yelled that night, but hopefully we've got our wits about us enough to talk again. If you want..." She didn't want to say cooled, because as she sat next to him nothing felt remotely cool as her body came into contact with him. At all.

He looked to her and huffed at her a bit, but quickly erased the furrow in his brow. He sighed and just smirked.
"Nothin, just thinkin' 'bout you."
He eased his back into the couch more and reached over to her hand, taking it into his own hand and looking thoughtfully at the ring.
"So. You're wearing it still, I see."
His hand would move from hers and up her arm to her shoulder, brushing back a lock of hair behind her ear. He let his hand stay there when he leaned ever so slightly toward it.
"Where do we go from there, Selina?"
He asked the question in a lower volume. Breath bated.

Sipping at her drink, she raised a brow at that. So she shows up, and all he has to say is that he's thinking about her? With a slight roll of her eyes she let him take her hand. "Haven't taken it off." She responded, watching him keenly as he brushed her hair from her face. He was being so cautious, something she wasn't used to in relation to him.
Pursing her lips she tried to ignore his caress, instead sipping her drink before responding. Could she do this, every day? Coming home to him, or vice versa, with him coming home to her? There was so much thought to put into that. Who's place would they live in? There was a mere few minutes between their two homes, why not both? As her mind meandered around the possibilities, his words snapped her out of her reverie.
Green eyes went to look him over as the words echoed in not only her mind, but somewhere in her chest. He was saying so much in those few words. Not only asking, but promising. While things weren't as tense as that night, there was still a lot of unanswered, well, everything.
"Where does a government spy and a reknown thief go, Harvey?" She countered.

"We go wherever the hell we want, that's where. If ll else fails, probably Canada, but I don't want to go to Canada."
He pressed into her more, lips making contact at the nape of her neck.
"Where do you want to go?"
Harvey felt so confidant, so smooth, so polished, but in reality it was all just intuitive because it was what he wanted. If she didn't want it, she knew how to shut him up and send him packing. He just had a feeling she might not be doing that.
After a moment he drew back from her a bit and looked down to her. Everything he ever wanted was sitting on this couch, that's all there was to talk about in his view.
"Are you where you want to be? If not, then I am sure you'll find a way to make it there."

It was such a loaded question. But Canada? Really? He'd almost lost her on that one, the moment shattered. Instead he'd made it better when he made contact with that bare expanse of exposed skin on her neck. She should have known better, but how was she to know he'd do that?
And even as her mind mellowed at his touch, she sighed. Where did she want to go? She knew with every fiber of her being where she wanted to go.
"I want to go home." She said quietly. He'd know what that meant. For someone who'd had a home, once, but had also seen it pulled from beneath her, he'd know what it meant.
Pursing her lips she looked up at him, fingertips going to push aside his hair. It needed to be cut. He was tired looking. Seeking, and not finding.
But he had a point. Was she where she wanted to be? She wouldn't have come over if she hadn't. He had to know that about her by now. A cat didn't go where it didn't want to be. It was that simple. And yes, she was here she wanted to be. She just wasn't wearing what she wanted. She could count on one hand the times she'd been here in full work attire. So a faint laugh escaped her lips as she gripped his jaw.
"You know the answer to that question. I just am wearing something more formal than normal, Detective," she teased quietly. He knew better than that.

He looked down to her as she took hold of his massive jaw. Her hand was but a pebble on rock. He ran a hand up on top of hers. He let it linger there as is eyes traced alone it, up her wrist and arm and then to her eyes at last.
"Then what do you want to do about it?"
He pulled her hand down gently and meandered it down to his chest, letting it rest at the middle of it. The locale of his heart. He looked from her hand to her eyes once again and he offered her half a smile. He kept silent over a long pause and finally exhaled a measured breath. One of his hands found her at her waist, hand grazing over her stomach, fingers below her ribs. He gave her a slight squeeze and felt his inhale sharper than he had felt it since the last time they were this close to each other. Many things happened.
"I hope I have the right suspicions..."
