Selina raised her glass to that moniker. New favorite person? She'd been called lesser things by better people. "To new favorite people." Eyeing the levels of both their drinks, Selina turned to where she could see the bartender and order another round. If need be they'd grab a cab back.
"Hm. How about I check it out when we get back. And if we can obscure this;" she raises the glass, "I can just tell your father that I was biding my time, and you had brought to my attention a rather questionable racket near your window, so I 'consulted,' and he'll get a bill, and I'll give you the cash?" She grins wickedly over the rim of her glass at the blonde.
And who says 'old people' can't have fun.
"And she may have broken a leg. We'll have to check the bushes, too. Just in case. And traffic is pretty bad. A taxi?" Selina smiles, listening to the girl. She hates cabs. Thankfully she can drive herself, or use the car service her building provides. Or call Alec. She's fortunate to not have to utilize taxis too often.
"Eh. I'm not a huge fan of fucking with your face, hon. But it's your choice. I just...if you want to lie. Summer might have a few better ideas, than that. She's all for legitimate news. But I will leave that to you two to chat about. I'm not huge on publicity. And she knows it." Summer is quite aware of Selina being pulled in now again for news. But being reported on? Nope. No go. Even as the two are friends, her private life has stayed mostly private. And mostly because she can't just go around saying who her paramours are without getting a lot of unwanted attention. More than a lot.
"I believe Kory's hair is naturally red. I have her number, if you want? And...I don't think you want to compare yourself to Harley. She is missing more than a few screws, if you know what I mean. And Stockholm syndrome is not a good asset in a girlfriend." A few things click in her mind, and she swaps out her finished drink for the fresh one brought to her. This place puts magic in their liquor, or something, because she's gotten quite drunk here before, and quickly without realizing it. They make a damn good cocktail.
Laughing at Piper's realization of Kory, but not her name, she waves it off. "Your father is a busy man. Gotham has it's share of issues. I'll reconnect with him later. Right now we're having a good time on her own, when he could've been enjoying it instead. His loss." Nodding at the mention of Maroni, she can't help but bit her tongue. She has to stay out of politics, other than when she is invited. She'll get herself into more trouble than she wants. Or really needs to deal with on top of her socialite agenda.
"Good. You order, I will put a few things in, and we'll run. You like early morning, later evenings, in the gym, or outside? Park, or city streets? And if you're running with me, we won't need a car." A Cheshire grin is on her lips, as she's clearly a seasoned runner, and will hold Piper to her word. The sushi here is worth it.

With a cheery smile ever-present on her glossed lips, she raised her glass to meet Selina’s only to quickly return it to her lips after they toasted. The blonde couldn’t help but giggle when she noticed how fast they both seemed to be going through their drinks. She set hers back down on the table, “So I am guessing you are a drinker too?” To say that Piper was a drinker was a bit of an understatement, but it was nice to meet someone who seemed to have a similar fondness and didn’t seem to fully know of her reputation amongst the clubs.
“Alright, that works!” This arrangement was getting better with each passing moment, though it was a struggle for Piper to keep her eyes from wandering and focused on the woman’s cat-like eyes. Instead, the flirty young blonde seemed to be more fond of Selina’s other physical assets. “Really? You would do that?” She asked, somewhat suspicious that she was being so nice. Kindness wasn’t exactly something that Piper was used too unless it was obviously false.
“I hope she broke a leg. Or both. Yeah, both would be better.” She said, a bit of distain to her voice. Piper wasn’t used to being stood up or abandoned. In fact, she was typically the one doing so rather than being the victim. The blonde would do whatever he could to get some kind of revenge that was for sure.
While Selina wasn’t a fan of plastic surgery, the young heiress seemed to obsess over it. She took note of what the woman was saying, but her lack of confidence had let her to take measure far more drastic than surgery. Despite what the woman was saying, she was fixated on a couple of words. “Summer’s the ginger right? I am pretty sure is the one that said all that stuff about me. I mean really, I don’t see why my third DUI is any concern to the people of Gotham….”
“Oh my god, yes!” Piper exclaimed, her eyes swimming with excitement at the thought of possibly having Kory as some kind of mentor. If anything it will give her someone healthier to look up to than the models she associated herself with now. “Still. If he can get a girl and I can’t, there is a problem. What’s Stockholm syndrome? It’s not contagious is it?” Piper asked, working on her second drink. She liked Selina’s outlook on things, especially her reaction to her father blowing her off. In all honesty, she didn’t know what he was acting so unusual recently. Though she wanted to apologize for his actions, she wasn’t sure if they were intentional or not. Still, she smiled to know Selina was having a good time. “I’m having a good time too.” She smiled, “I haven’t left the house in days. Ever since that Dent thing I have been on lockdown.” Speaking of which, she should probably text her father and let him know where she was, then again, she liked getting under his skin.
“The park, I am free any time after noon. I have a teeth whitening at 10.” She informed, glad to find another opportunity to escape the mansion. Hopefully her father would allow it.

Selina winks at the girl as their empty glasses are whisked away. "In good company and good spirits, always." It's a nice way to answer the girl without acknowledging either way she likes to drink, or doesn't.
She has to bite the inside of her cheek when the fleeing paramour of the blonde is mentioned. Selina highly doubts that the woman broke a leg, or anything else skipping out the window. But that is a topic for a hopefully unforeseen future. "Summer is the ginger. And, well, she strives for the truth, so hopefully when I am there, no fur flies. Just...you have to understand her side, and she..." Her voice stops as it's mentioned a third DUI against her. Seriously? She almost, almost rethinks the copious amounts of alcohol she's plying the girl with, but as long as she's not driving, they're good. And she'll make sure the Mayor's daughter gets home. Safely.
Setting down her glass she fishes a small card from her purse and then glances at her phone to jot down a number. She offers it to the girl easily. And then goes on to explain Stockholm syndrome. "It's not quite....a contagious disease. More a mental condition that happens when you're kidnapped, and while you first start out hating the person, you end up growing close to them, even loving them. It's a tad bit warped." And sad, as her eyes turn down for a moment. While Harley and Jack love one another, it's not healthy. Not in the least. Her eyes flick back up to her drink and her eyes lock with the girl as she mentions a girlfriend. Well now. Maybe she could think of a healthy, yet fun woman for the blonde to date. And single, as well. That part is a bit more difficult, as she knows many people, but single? Hm. She'll have to think on it.
"Have you tried going to places other than bars to get a girlfriend? School, the gym?" She tries hesitantly. As soon as the Dent ordeal is mentioned, Selina's face pales a shade or two. How could she have forgotten about that. Shit. She'd thought there were going to be arrangements made. And here she is, having waltzed in, and just...gone to lunch with her. Shit.
Fussing with her phone she sends two quick texts, hoping she won't get her ass chewed out later. "Sounds good. After ten. No lunch plans?" She scrolls through her phone to check her schedule. "How many days a week do you want to do this? Daily? Three times? I'm ...pretty open."

“I don’t see why her side would be important. Isn’t it just her job to talk about everyone else?” Piper insisted, the obvious hostility in her tone towards the redhead. Her money often covered up whatever trail of destruction she left, though thanks to the first amendment and a woman unwilling to take bribes, it didn’t seem as though the young heiress would be able to silence Summer. Well, actually…maybe she could arrange something with Thorne. After all, he did have a knack for making her problems disappear. “I will try-“ She ended sheepishly and stubbornly, not fully willing to give the news anchor a chance.
Piper couldn’t help but wrinkle her flawed nose at the definition. “Wow. That really happens? I don’t think I could ever love someone that kidnapped me. But I never really have to worry about that I guess.” Stirring the water that she had asked for alongside her order, she counted the mint leaves inside it before asking the waitress to bring her more. The sheltered and spoiled little princess considered herself invincible against the dangers that rivaled the city, though the act was both foolish and irrational.
“Well, I’m not exactly enrolled this semester. I might enroll again next semester. But I think I am just going to go back to L.A. instead. I’ve met a few girls at the gym. I don’t know, I just feel like the ones who want me are not the ones that I want back. Does that make sense?” She asked, “Besides. It’s not like I can go anywhere with all this bullshit. My dad even fired half of the home staff so he could limit the people that had access to our house. How stupid is that?”
Her eyes lit up when Selina actually intended on continuing their work-out plans later for the weeks. Temporarily distracted from her Dent Drama, she couldn’t help but smile before quickly answering. “Daily! God- it will be sooo nice to get out of the house every day.”

"True, but she tries to get the truth, so it's not her side, it's the honest side." She can tell Piper is selective about the redhead's show, otherwise she'd be a bit more aware of the non-celebrity news as well. Either way, it's a good connection for Summer, and even better for Piper.
She takes a sip as the news about Harley sinks in. "I don't think most folks could, either. It's a disturbing instance to say the least. We can just hope the same doesn't happen to you." Even if she's supposed to have security on her, second best is having Selina in her company for the time being. She can only hope she won't get in trouble later with the PD. Not that that would occur for a fact, but still, being friends doesn't always mean you're not going to get a glare and a few harsh words.
As their conversation switches to life and love, Selina understands more than she will let on with her nonchalant nod. Love is difficult at times, let alone trying to meet someone. "Well, not stupid, but it sounds with your little tryst friend, you may need to have him re-look at the security setup. Him firing half-your staff isn't going to exactly fix things, either." She sips at her drink as another waiter comes by with their sushi.
"I agree. I will have to change the times on Monday and Friday, but we should be good otherwise. You have everything you want? We could even end at the gym, if you wanted to do weights, too." It would help her own regimen to get out and about a bit more as well.

Piper shrugged, positive that her superficial charm could lower the redhead’s defenses in one way or another. While she may be easily manipulated herself, she was blessed with her father’s silver tongue and was incredibly good at getting what she wanted out of a given situation. Though she was currently oblivious to the stubborn reporter’s ways, it was time that Piper took a leaf out of Selina’s book and attempted to befriend the woman rather than stay at war with her.
The young blonde was sipping what was left of her old drink before diving into her new one. However, Selina’s statement nearly caused her to choke on her beverage. After she collected herself she couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the woman’s statement. “I think I will be fine, dear. I for one, don’t have anything to worry about.” Honestly, not only was her house heavily secured by a majority of Gotham’s finest, but the home was armed with more locks and alarm systems than most of the city. As far as her safety was concerned, Piper considered herself a well-protected gem in a city of crime.
“Oh my god, I know right? Even if that little half-and-half freak is after us, we still need people too cook for us regardless. This security thing is stupid. I’m half tempted to just move back to L.A. now so I don’t have to deal with it.” She said with a roll of her eyes, selfishly not understanding the meanings of her father or what Selina was getting at. Her nostrils flared momentarily as she recalled the woman that she had been unfortunately paired with. While she considered mentioning it, she refrained. Knowing her luck, it would be another one of Selina’s friends.
It was hard to hide her excitement about working out with Selina. “I actually know this really good instructor if you do yoga at all? He does a hot yoga course too! It’s seriously the best. You do yoga in a really hot room- kind of like doing yoga in a sauna. You should do it with me!” While she had a great deal of female friends, most of them were not the best influences, nor were they particularly sober enough during the day time to engage in such activities with her. However, because of her aspiring profession, she had to worry about her image.

Selina nodded, but had to bite her tongue at the girl's words. Fantastic security if someone was able to cross the windowsill and flee the perimeter without police on the scene. And if they were on the scene? The other participant would never have been allowed back into Piper's bedroom. So while the blonde talks, Selina listens.
While she may not have anything to worry about, Selina makes a note to look into just exactly who is covering the Mayor's daughter. Because they're doing a shit job of it. "You mean Dent? Two-face? And yes. And I hate to say it, but if your guards were doing their job, you'd never have gotten your, well, we'll call her your 'friend,' back to your room. Hate to burst your bubble." Selina shrugs as she is poised to start eating and chatting. She has to temper, or at least put on a good show to try to soak up some of that alcohol.
"Eh, if you live through this, it will be a story you can use in LA. Don't give up just yet." She pops a bit of the sushi into her mouth as Piper keeps going, and her eyes light up at the mention of Yoga. Now that is something she can do. A bit easier than running, even. Washing down her food with a healthy swig of her drink, Selina agrees.
"Now I can get in on that. When do you see this instructor? Because I haven't had a good bout of Bikram yoga in quite a while. I'd love to do it with you!" She exclaims, snapping up another piece of sushi before asking her next question. "You been doing yoga long? Not many newer to it appreciate the heat. But in the winters, especially in Gotham, it's heavenly."

Stirring her drink, she finished it off before asking the waitress for a third one, sending her an overly- flirty smile. “Is that your birthstone?” She asked the waitress, pointing to her bracelet. “Emerald is mine as well, it really compliments your eyes.” The blonde said almost sweetly toward the woman, who seemed to smile uncontrollably at the compliment and blush before she hurried to get Piper her drink. As the woman walked away, Piper’s sickly-sweet expression fell as she watched the woman walk away. “God, she has no ass at all.”
Giving up instantly, despite how nice the waitress was towards Piper from that moment on, the blonde suddenly showed no interest. Back the conversation, the young heiress sighed almost casually. “Is there any other Dent that my daddy would be hiding from?” While she was sure she wasn’t mistaken, they did live in a big city. A devilish grin spread across her pretty face at Selina’s statement. “Or maybe I am just that sneaky.” She winked playfully at the brunette, but in all actuality Selina was right.
She sighed once more, sipping the fresh drink that was just served to her. “I don’t even have to go back to LA. Even if I go back to Metropolis I wouldn’t mind. I just need a change of scenery or something. Gotham bores me.” But the idea of having a story did somewhat excite her. Using the chopsticks provided to bring a bit of sushi to her lips, she couldn’t even try to hide her excitement about yoga with Selina. “I’ll have to get the name from my friend. I have only gone with her a handful of times, but he’s good and he isn’t to handsy- if you know what I mean. I have always felt pretty refreshed when I leave.”

She's turned to mixing the proper amount of wasabi with her soy sauce. An indulgent habit, and a bad one no doubt with all the sodium, but it's a guilty pleasure of hers. So while she's futzing with her chopsticks and the green paste and the heady fermented soy mixture, she's only barely aware of Piper flirting with the waitress, until the comment on her behind is made.
"Hmm. Maybe we need to steer you somewhere else to pick up the ladies, hon." Raising a brow as she plucks a roll and drops it into her concoction, before popping it into her mouth, she nods. "I'm only aware of one Dent, as well. Two, if you're really counting." Shrugging she winked in kind at the Mayor's daughter, getting a small glimpse of what the man is actually dealing with in his daughter.
"Well. Metropolis may be a bit of a better bet. And trust me, I can give you a fantastic change of scenery with this whole running nearly every morning thing. I grew up in Gotham. Went away for school, but here I am again, back." And there are a few routes that aren't exactly on the beaten path as well.
"Now that is an instructor I can get behind. Have you ever taken a self-defense class, by chance?" She asks. Piper may play dumb, but Selina's getting a strong sense it's hugely an act, and not a reality.

Piper turned away from the retreating waitress to meet Selina’s pretty emerald eyes once more, her own eyes twinkling with mischief. “Please, I can do much better than a some flat-ass waitress. I was just having a bit of fun. It’s like a game. You know, like when you are little and boys chase you on the playground. It’s the same thing.” As if she had just released a mouthful of wisdom she nodded to prove her point and then moved to take similar precautions to her meal. With a steady hand she popped a piece into her mouth after dabbing it into a bit of soy sauce.
She closed her eyes as if to savor the taste. After weeks of strict dieting that would seem completely ridiculous to most, it felt amazing to eat something that didn’t resemble some kind of rabbit food. “God, this is amazing.” It was a bit of a relief to talk with someone that took this situation as lightly as she did as far as the Dent issue was concerned. Piper couldn’t help but giggle as she blotted her mouth with a napkin. “Everyone else I try to talk to about it acts like I am already dead or something. Like, I have an expiration date across my forehead or something.”
“That sounds amazing. This place is a bit of a bore anymore. Where did you go away to?” She asked, happy to discuss any place other than Gotham – a subject that she found the highlight of any dinner or festivity that she attended. It was a never ending discussion that bored her greatly.
The blonde thought for a moment, taking a sip of the new drink that the waitress had sat in front of her. Piper waited momentarily before she left before continuing the conversation. “I don’t think so. I can’t remember. It’s not really my thing honestly. I’m a lover, not a fighter.” She replied with her own wink.

Bingo. If Piper really did want to pursue something acting, rather than just being a pretty face, she'd vouch for it. Honestly. And she liked the woman's sense of mischief. It spoke to her on a deeper, more feline level. "Mmm. Totally agree there. Hanging out with you may take me back a few years, Piper," she added with a hearty laugh and a lift of her glass to the blonde.
"I can see why your father may have a bit of trouble with you now and again," she added before plucking a bit of their shared roll and dunking it delicately into her soy and wasabi mix. It was really just horseradish of a different color, but who cared. It made things that tasted fantastic, taste even better.
"Well, I can see why your, you know, Father would give a shit. But with Dent, it really depends on which side of the coin you get. Maniacal, or even-tempered. But even then it's still a toss-up." She dabbed at her own mouth after the slew of puns left her lips. "I actualy knew Harvey before the incident. He was a good friend." She let those words hang in the air a bit before she took another piece of sushi between perfectly poised chopsticks.
As the topic once again switches back to her, she smiles. "I went overseas for University. Ended up spending a good amount of time in France and Italy. Studied at the Sorbonne, you know, college things." And setting herself up for a lifestyle that she knew some adored. If only they knew the roots of it, and the hard work and bullshit that had gone into it.
Selina had just taken a drink when Piper shot her a wink. Oh boy, did she understand that old saying. Clearing her throat after a bit of her drink went down the wrong pipe, she laughed, and nodded. "Well, while it may not 'be your thing,' it might be a smart thing to get dear ol' dad off your back about having personal security. I have my own guy, but I get away with no one tailing me beause I can handle myself. And I keep my skills up monthly. But if you do it right..that whole fighting, can turn into loving, if you get my gist." She winked at the younger woman. And she did know a good instructor.
