At her advice, Rowdy took a deep breath and collected his thoughts. Deep down, he wished he could be himself, but that wasn’t possible unless Selena knew his secret, and he wasn’t about to reveal it to her at this early stage of their relationship. Yes, although it was strictly business, he still considered it a relationship. Where it was headed was anybody’s guess.
“Masks,” Rowdy responded to her inquiry about a theme. “It’s ‘Cinderella and Cinderella-Fellas Masquerade Night’ at the club." He screwed up his face. "Hey! Don't blame me! It wasn't my idea!"
He couldn't help but laugh out loud. Then he added, "If you decide to show up, please promise me you won’t wear a mask that hides the majority your beautiful face, Selina. That would definitely be a crime.”
Then another thought hit him.
“Oh, and don’t plan on robbing the place either,” he joked.

When two people came together, it was always a relationship, be it business, or for pleasure. It was an interaction of some sorts, a give and take, a push and pull. So when the 'theme' was divulged, she couldn't help but crack a wide smile at the reveal. "I like this already. Masks. And no, I'll try not to wear one that obscures my features. Just something along here," she states as she pantomimes a mask just around her eyes.
Jotting down a note in her files, she glances up in shock as he mentions robbing the place. And then it hits her as she laughs: masks. Theft. He doesn't know, thankfully.
Pointing her pen at him, she smirks. "You hired me to prevent theft, Mr. Yates. I wouldn't dream of stealing anything. Save for a fun night." This sort of walk through will demand an immersion method, she surmises. And as for the nightcap, she wonders if he has attached suites to stay in, or if there is a hotel close enough for the after party's after party.
"So we have a date. Midnight, masks. Are you going to find me?" She asks him, her mind already flipping through a few different outfit ideas. It is a club, after-all, so a bit of creativity is welcome.

Rowdy was glad Selina liked the theme for the evening. He made a mental note to thank his business partner Jimbo later for coming up with it. Earlier, Rowdy thought the idea sounded pretty lame, but the way Selina was smiling changed his opinion of that real quick! He watched Selina carefully as she described with her hands the type of mask she had in mind.
Rowdy thought Selina’s initial reaction to his joke about robbing his nightclub was cute. “You really didn’t think I was being serious, did you?” he laughed with her. Then his expression brightened even more when she reminded him that she was hired to prevent theft. He loved her quick wit. She thought fast on her feet, and he couldn't help but wonder if that was true when she was off her feet, as well. Hopefully, one day, he’d find out for himself.
Rowdy smiled when Selina told him she wouldn’t dream of stealing anything, but he knew it was far too late for that. You see, she had already stolen his heart. His face literally beamed with pride when she said they had a date at midnight.
“Mmm,” Rowdy hummed. “Midnight, the bewitching hour -- I love it! Oh, and don’t worry,” he assured her, wiggling his eyebrows. “I’ll have no problem finding you.”

She beamed at him, shrugging casually. "Sometimes, you never know." She drawled, folding up her paperwork, and tucking it into her bag. Extending her hand to Rowdy, she couldn't keep the bright grin off her face at his joke.
"Good. I'll keep my eyes peeled as well. I hate to cut this short, but I have a few more things to take care of at the office, and I have an outfit to throw together for tonight!" She quipped, standing at the edge of the table. She really didn't want to be rude, but she'd hoped to get a quick nap in as well, if she were going to the club at midnight.

When Selina finished packing up and offered Rowdy her hand, he responded with a handshake and returned her smile with one of his own. “It’s been a pleasure, Selina Kyle,” he told her, using her full name for dramatic effect. “This isn’t good-bye, so I won’t say good-bye. I’m really looking forward to seeing you tonight. Take care.”
He squeezed her hand gently before releasing it.
As they turned and went their separate ways, Rowdy kept smiling to himself, daydreaming about their paths crossing again at midnight. He knew they were going to have fun, especially with everyone there dressed up in masks and costumes. Considering the costume he had selected for himself, he started to worry a little bit.
"I sure hope she likes Batman . . . . "

"It really has, Rowdy Yates. And no, it's not a good-bye, but a see you later!" She smiled, realizing that he had to have such success with his club, due to his gregarious personality. "Take care as well, I'll be looking for you!" She called over her shoulder, before making her way to the door.
It would take a bit of thinking to piece together an outfit. It certainly had been a while since she had been to a theme-night at a nightclub, even. There was such a variety of chioces. From her own days, it seemd corsets and short shorts were the thing, with either heels or boots; the higher, the better. Laughing slightly as she hailed a cab, she knew she had more than a few options to try out for the night's festivities.
