One last mouthful of spaghetti, and Charlotte's attention switches to her apple. Picking it up and turning in her chair to keep herself at least partway facing Selina, she comments on her guardian's lack of knowledge about foster families by saying, "'Early to bed, early to rise' makes a woman old and fat, apparently." She hates whoever said that quote - they pretty much suck for giving early birds ammo.
As she bites into her apple, she listens as Selina explains the start times of various schools, and she can't help but make a face at the mere idea of seven. Nine gets a face too, but less of one - that's still pretty early for her, especially if you factor in what time she'd have to wake up to get there. But, like she said, everything wants her to wake up early. "Oh, I don't care if I'm there later if it means I can wake up later. And stay up later," she comments, as that would set the entire clock ahead a couple of hours - a good thing all around! "But yeah, if there's a choice of schools, I'd wanna see," she adds. What time she has to be there in the morning is only one factor, after all.

Selina shakes her head, not liking those words. "I'm neither. I usually work out when I wake up, I am sometimes up early, and to bed waaay too late. Sometimes I'm up late, and to bed late. Sometimes I just afford a nap, and keep working. Not to say that I don't ever play, but I do it with the same enthusiasm I do when I work; hard." She adds, leaning back in her chair and crossing her legs.
She's not lazy. In fact she has Allie clear time from her schedule now and again. Not because she wants it, but because she ends up needing it. "I can work with that. If you're a nightowl, there is really no reason in fighting it. It will just make you, and those around you more pissy. And I've tried. I am no 9-5 sort. One of the bonuses of owning your own company."
"But how about I make a few calls so we can look at the schools. After we've looked at them, you can pick. And I know someone that can help you a bit with anything you need to brush up on." ...not because she thinks Charlotte is dumb, but because she has a strong feeling that because of her time on the streets, there will be a few issues at hand to deal with.
"How does that sound?" Returning to her tea, she cradles it, and breathes in deeply for a second before asking, "What do you think about Yoga and Pilates? Ever done either?"

Nodding to Selina's words, Charlotte looks rather pleased about the woman's thoughts - sounds like she won't have to deal with another early bird trying to change her. It wasn't exactly possible to determine that by observation since they'd gotten up early to go shopping the day before and tonight... Well, clearly they're not on any sort of a purposeful schedule just now. But while she can get up early if she has to, that doesn't mean that she likes it at all. Nice to know that to whatever degree she has to do so for school, it won't be because of Selina at least.
Making a slight face, she nods again as Selina mentions what she needs to brush up on. She's definitely not stupid, but she's probably like year behind by now. Being on the streets may have given her a lot of life experience, but it didn't teach her much that the educational system actually values. But she definitely doesn't want to have to be held back a grade - and making up a year ought to be doable if she applies herself and stuff.
Shrugging, she answers Selina by saying, "Okay, I guess." Few people her age would really relish the idea of going back to school after having been out of it, and she's no exception, so she'll show no enthusiasm whatsoever for the idea even though it's acceptable.
Quickly reducing her apple to its core, she pauses with that for a moment to say, "Nope. And I don't know - I could try it but it doesn't look very... fun." Yeah, all that stretching and stuff? Seems boring. Especially compared to the more active things they'd mentioned before. Though she'd not outright refuse to do it since she's never tried - maybe it's less boring than it looks?

Selina is pleased to get some sort of response, even if it's brief. "It won't be some stuffy tutor. It's Barbara Gordon, and she does this on the side. Redhead, smart, and she's fun. But she'll push you." She adds. Babs is fun, but gets down to business when it's necessary. So hopefully the two teens will mesh, and forge some sort of a bond. She can only hope at this point.
Was Yoga fun? Pilates? Not in the beginning. At all. But once the breathing was down, and you got over the several days burn, she'd found she couldn't not do it without feeling a bit off through her day.
"It's not fun in the beginning, but you end up improving your flexibility, strengthening your core, and able to do things like this-"
Yes, she just ate, and it's not the best moment, but she is able to kneel on all fours, then balance, kick her legs up and over so she's doing something similar to a hand, or headstand, before she finds a point of balance and her legs kick over her head so she'd contorted into something the call a 'scorpion' pose.
"This is more down the road. But the techniques you apply here, will help in other areas." Letting out a breath, she eases her legs up, and back to the ground before she stands, stretches up on the balls of her feet, and then goes to sit back in her chair.

It sounds like this 'Barbara Gordon' is a nerd, but Charlotte keeps that thought to herself. Eh, it's not like she can say one way or the other about whether or not she can work with her until she meets her, and she probably can - a tutor is pretty much a tutor, right? So she shrugs, indicating her acceptance with the idea but lack of opinion about it otherwise.
Quietly observing Selina's demonstration while she finishes off her apple, at first she's skeptical because Selina confirmed that it's not fun. Then again, the pose that Selina gets into does seem kind of interesting. Interesting, but again not exactly fun - not the same way something more active would be fun. But yeah, she supposes she can see how that would relate to learning the other types of things that Selina had mentioned before. "Yeah, I can try it," she says as she deposits her apple core on her plate, sounding somewhat more interested though still not exactly enthusiastic.

"You'll get to that point. Nothing is fun in the start; unless you have some sort of perverted opinion on being harped on to get technique down is fun." She shrugs. "But I'll call to the studio to see when they have classes. I usually run through a set of poses when I wake up, but class work is usually fun, too."
She adds that to another mental list she has running, and realizes they should at least get Charlotte an ID, before anything else. Asking her if she knows how to drive is one thing. The teen probably has knowledge on it. But driving in Gotham? She has her own car and rarely does it, even.
"You want to maybe tackle today's shopping trip? I know Liv got some of it out of the way. I can help, if you want?" She's not trying to push, but she is quite aware that all of the new things are a bit overwhelming, and not quite organized in the girl's room.

Yeah, it sounds like a lot of fun the way Selina explains it... Oh well, if she decides that she doesn't like it, then she'll simply quit. It wouldn't be the first or the last time Charlotte's done that, after all. "'kay," she says, accepting the idea for now.
Selina's next questions cause her to frown for a moment as she considers, but the thought of tackling all those things doesn't give her the same queasy feeling that she'd had before. She's had a good night sleep, a meal, loads of other things to think about, and time to simply come to grips with it all, after all. Shrugging at Selina's offer, she comments, "I think I can handle it. You can help if you want."
Shrugging again to show just how little she cares, she stands and collects her dishes so that she can return them to the kitchen before she tackles that project. Because, yes, with or without Selina's help it's probably best for her to get all the stuff taken care of now. It's still, like, the middle of the night, but she's not tired at all so she might as well do something.

Good enough for an answer. So while Charlotte trucks her dishes to the kitchen, Selina has to smile. Now bringing in your own dishes and eating leftovers? Selina can do that. Leaving her tea on the table she replaces her the fruit back in the fridge-covered of course before loading up the dishwasher, and then going to grab Charlotte's laptop and cellphone. She'd been able to contact Elise, who had been able to send over the programs and hardware upgrades she'd wanted, so everything had gone a teeny bit quicker.
Knocking on the teen's door, Selina's eyes widen at the sheer amount of stuff they'd purchased. While it didn't seem like a whole lot, it did when confined in a room. Once given entrance, Selina moves to the desk [that they will have to replace with the new one] and moves to the chair before opening up the new laptop and finishing downloading and tweaking it so it will be suitable for the teen.
"I'm almost finished with this. I can't remember if we found you a laptop case or not. But you can always find one online. I do a lot of shopping that way. It's just a bit easier, and everything is delivered." And when Liv doesn't go grocery shopping, and she doesn't have time to stop by the little locally owned shops, she tends to order out, or use a grocery service as well. Her time is precious to her, after all.

Just because she was raised in a poor east Gotham family and then passed through a couple of foster families doesn't mean that Charlotte doesn't have her basic manners down. Yes, she doesn't know the finer points of etiquette and sometimes she knows what she's supposed to do and ignores it, but clearing your plate is universal. And once she does so, she heads to her new room to work on her things.
Luckily, when she gets to the doorway and sees all the stuff again, her stomach remains solid. But she does sigh at the sight - it's a lot of stuff. Well, it's not going to get put away by just looking at it. She decides that it'll probably easiest if she sorts the large pile into smaller ones based on which part of the room it will go in, and then tackle the smaller piles one at a time. It's not a hard thing to do since all the things that they purchased from the same store ended up near each other, but she's still not quite finished when there's a knock on the door.
"Come in," she says, not looking up from what she's doing - sorting her clothes between what's going in the closet and what's going in the dresser. Though when Selina mentions a laptop case, Charlotte frowns. "Yes, we got one... I saw it a moment ago..." she says as she abandons the clothes for a moment to look in the pile of stuff next to her new desk since she put the electronics stuff that Selina didn't abscond with there. It's a small pile, so it takes her two seconds to extract the case for her laptop as well as her cellphone. Putting them on the desk next to Selina, she goes back to her clothing project.

"Perfect. I'm glad you found it." Selina says with a bit of a laugh. Sitting, Selina plugs in the charger to the wall, then to the computer to let it run a few more set-up protocols before turning to look at the room. There is a sheer amount of stuff there. And while Liv did hang some of it, there is ...quite a bit otherwise to deal with. Slipping a small knife from her pocket, she opens it so they can start cutting off tags as they go.
"Here, why don't you start handing me things to hang up. At least that will get it out of the way, first. I could show you how I organize things. Liv already put your dresses in here...and I see the heels and other shoes." She glances around and sees the dresser. Other things can go in there as need be. Hm.
"Well. Hangers might work to get things put in your closet, or your underwear and socks, sorting them into the dresser. Either way." She shrugs slightly, ready to go at the teen's word, and oddly chipper and mellow for four am in the morning. These are her hours, so she's quite ready to act, and not be forced to sleep, which would really be a nap, in lieu of keeping up a very flimsy facade.

At Selina's suggestion, Charlotte nods. "Okay - yeah, if you want to stand by the closet I can start handing you things," she replies, figuring that's a good role for a second person to play since she can easily pass along items to Selina for hanging as she continues to sort through the rest since it will take Selina longer per item than it will for her - a mini-assembly line of sorts. She herself is only tired when she looks too long at just how many things that there is to go through - four in the morning or not, she has energy right now.
Settling into a groove in deciding which things are nicer and liable to wrinkle and which can be tossed into a drawer without consequence, being sure that Selina has one of the former in hand at all times, she glances at the pile and shakes her head to herself as she guesses out loud that, "I have, like, twenty times as much stuff now as two days ago." Which is quite a switch, even if she's gone through similar before at a few points. Still kind of mind-blowing at the moment though. But that actually means that either her guess is way off or she'd had far more as a runaway than what she'd had on her person when she was caught.

That request she can, and does do. The hangers are plentiful, and as Charlotte starts to hand her items, she deftly hands and attempts to sort them how she would. "I usually try to organize things by what they are, then color." She offers, motioning to what she has done so far. It's a nice assembly line they have going as a decent dent is made in the things to hang, Selina taking an extra moment or two to admire the teen's choice in item as she is handed it.
"And you picked it all yourself. Good choices, too. And there is a washer and drier in the kitchen. The cupboards near the fridge are false, and everything is in there, if you ever need it."
And of course she has a marker to write with on the fridge, with an ongoing list of to-do things, and things to buy, but she feels it would be mildly insulting to have to point out something so clear.

Glancing at the way her stuff is being organized, Charlotte gives it a nod - yeah, that's sensible. In the past she's used the 'just put it in the middle' method. Which is actually a method - the things that she used frequently tended to hover around the middle while the things she didn't use very much ended up pushed into the corners, so her favorites were always easy to get to. Then again, good luck on finding a particular item you want... So yes - she'll probably try to maintain Selina's method then and see if she likes it. Especially since she must admit that it would be hard to choose favorites - they didn't exactly go to a thrift store where a nice piece of clothing is a real find - all of it is really nice.
What Selina mentions next causes Charlotte to hesitate for a moment before saying, "Okay. Um... I don't know how to 'do laundry' though..." Is she a bit old to be saying that? That hadn't occurred to her before, but based on the way Selina said that, perhaps she is... Maybe the fact that she's so 'behind' on a lot of things is her own fault, but that doesn't mean that she likes it.

They've made a good dent in the pile, Selina every once in a while takes her time glancing over what Charlotte has picked out. A lot of it is super cute. The teen has a clear vision of what she likes, and stuck with it. Smiling she feels that unfamiliar swell in her chest as she is handed another article to hang and place in the closet. Her back is to Charlotte when she hears the few quiet words about not knowing how. Not making a scene, she turns and smiles at the girl, crooking a finger at her to follow as she skirts the small hallway to her room and gathers up a pile of clothing she's been letting grow near her dresser.
"Here. I'll give you a crash course." Scooping up the pile of items she makes her way to said cupboard in the kitchen, pushing the sliding pocket door into the wall to show off the front-loading washer and drier; side-by-side in stainless to match the rest of the kitchen appliances. Picking out this and that, she stuffs a rather large amount of cotton and synthetic items into the washer, shutting it and pulling out a small tub of powder. Silently she scoops out a tiny bit and adds it to a small pull out compartment, before saying a word to the teen.
"I usually sort by fibers. This is a lot of cotton, and synthetics. Work out stuff, mostly. I measure, dump it in, wash it on cold, for this long." She turns the dials accordingly, and the screen lights up, and the washer starts to fill with water, and tumble.
"As for the drier, if you want to air dry, there is this rack-" she points above where there is a collapsible folding thing, "That you can use. Or...just, honestly, I pick this option, and hit the go arrow. For other items, delicate things, I just make sure everything is on 'cold' for the washer, and I click it to delicate. Both beep when they're done, and then fold, and go." Or just shove everything on hangers, or even just...never fold it, like Selina herself is prone to doing at times.
"But make sure to check labels. Turning your jeans inside out helpse saves the dark wash. Silk, cashmere, and your nicer items we can send to the cleaners." She's succinct and to the point, she's hoping, before shutting the sliding door, leaving it open a crack before she turns to the dishwasher. "This is easy. Just..dump one of these things in there, fill it, press go." She gazes around the rest of the kitchen, which is pretty self-explanatory. With a rather grave expression on her face, she moves to the sink, and glances back to Charlotte. "This, you do this-" She raises the handle to the faucet, before looking back to Charlotte. "Is very important." She then points to the Keurig machine she has. "Because it helps to turn these tiny little pockets of ground substance into magical flavored liquid." She nods twice, and makes sure the faucet handle is all the way down, as it is prone to leaking at times. She can only hope the teen finds the joke somewhat funny.

A bit surprised when Selina abruptly interrupts putting away things to lead her out, Charlotte sets down what she was holding and silently follows. "Um, okay..." she replies at the idea of a crash course. She just hopes that it's not too complicated. And as it turns out, no it isn't. Nodding at each direction, silently grateful that Selina is just... explaining without making a big deal out of it. She'll still probably be a bit timid of the washer and dryer until she's had a chance to use it herself a couple of times, though, especially since her new clothes are nice and she likes them. But at least Selina's shown her how it's done so she's not completely mystified by the machines.
The explanation of the dishwasher also gets a nod. She has used one of those before, but since each one is just a bit different it is useful to have someone who already knows how a particular one works explain it. The joke, though... Yes, Charlotte 'gets' it, and that it's vaguely funny, but she doesn't think that it's funny enough to laugh at it. Instead she rolls her eyes a little and says, "Well, if you ask me, that's enough magic and wonder for now - I'm gonna go work on my room." And with that she turns and heads back toward her room. It's going to take awhile to get all that stuff situated, and now that she's gotten started on it she wants to get it done already.
