Nostril flared as Croc crouched low to the ground, his deep yellow eyes glowing as he scanned the area, the alleyway seemed empty. He could smell the rats, the sewage and the faint sent of the people who have passed by, but seemed no one would even notice him. The scalie beast slinked from one shadow to another, creeping ever closer to a small Clinic that shared a wall with a Pharmacy. He growled as he felt a tinge of pain in his shoulders and lower back, he was still healing from his beat down he got a month ago.. though the wounds were healing, they were not healing fast enough.. and sewer water wasn't really helpful.
Rolling his wrists and snarling, he eyeballed the wall that was concealing the pharmacy side of the clinic. On the other side of the wall would be the pharmacist and the medication he would need. He rolled his shoulders before giving a loud growl and shoving himself into the wall and clawing with his hands to break through.
Dust, bricks and some medication fell and crumbled as Croc burst through with a reptilian hiss and gnashing teeth, he had knocked the pharmacist out with a flying brick and scared some of the waiting patients . As the dust cleared he stared down at a pregnant woman and bared his razor sharp teeth down at her as she seemed to crumble under his shadow. His voice rumbled with a deep voice, his Cajun accent thick ," Now don't chu worry none, ah'd come for something...."

It's been an exhausting few weeks for Nina. She still isn't fully back in shape, and her desire to keep any chance of Edward finding her before she's ready to find him means that she's switching hotels at least every few days. By this point, she simply can't wait for her life to return to normal - whatever that is.
Right now she and Shawty are en-route to another hotel, the trunk of her Mercedes full of the suitcases that she's been living out of. She's still uncertain about what to do with her apartment - maybe it'll be safe to return to once she's taken care of Edward. Maybe not. In the meantime most of her stuff is still there, while most of what she has with her is a portion of her clothing. But she's never been one to feel the need to live in splendor, so she hardly cares.
But before she moves on to the next hotel, she and Shawty swing by a local pharmacy to pick up a few drugs and supplements that she knows will help her heal faster. While she's decided that it's unwise to use her power to speed up the process, there's no reason why she can't take advantage of her medical knowledge to help herself. They're in the parking lot, just about to get into her car when a loud crash alerts them that something is not right. Turning to look, she sees the end of a large tail disappearing into a part of the building they just left.
Nina is not a superhero. She supposes that, with her power, she could be one. But she has a very non-violent personality, and her day job as a medical researcher probably saves more lives than she probably ever could by running around in a costume anyway. Still, the sight of that tail combined with her memory of just how packed the pharmacy they just left was, causes her to cringe internally. She could defeat him. In fact, it wouldn't be that difficult for her in particular. And it would potentially save so many people from harm, and since she's literally right here she'd probably get there a lot faster than anyone else who could do it. Though a quick attempt to reach the reptilian man inside the building proves fruitless - the tail has already disappeared inside and the clinic doesn't have any unshaded windows that would allow her to see him from the outside. She'd have to go inside to do it.
Before she's consciously realized it, she finds herself turning toward the clinic, only to be stopped by Shawty saying, "Don't, Dr. Stenet! Someone will see you!" Which certainly gives Nina some pause - she can't afford to have her powers known, especially not now. So she stops, staring at the building anxiously for a moment before she suddenly hits upon an idea. Hurrying to the trunk of her car, she pulls out one of the suitcases and takes it with her into the back of her car.
Realizing what she's doing, Shawty gets alarmed and joins her by getting into the driver's seat, "But Dr. Stenet, it's too-" "Dangerous?" Nina interrupts quickly digging out a few pieces of black fabric, "Three seconds - five at most given the size - and he's on the floor, unable to hurt anyone. Don't tell me this isn't worth it." Though Nina has only worn this costume once, at that was over a year ago, she's kept it - just in case. Aside from the mask, it's all easily mistaken for ordinary clothing anyway. In fact, thanks to the simplicity of it and the fact that she's very motivated to do this as quickly as is physically possible, she's covered from neck to toe in black in less than a minute. The mask is a second more, and last step is to let her curly hair out of its characteristic ponytail.
"Anyone looking at us?" she asks Shawty, knowing that her assistant would be watching for that very thing. "No," is the reply, as the vast majority of the people in the area care far more about either fleeing from the area or gawking at the building over caring about a random car in the parking lot. "Wish me luck then," Nina replies as she jumps out of the car and runs toward the building. Dodging out of the way of someone making their way out, she heads right into the front door of the side with the clinic, knowing that the cause of all this mayhem is in there somewhere, but having no idea where he's ended up. She only hopes that the delay to conceal her identity didn't result in too much harm.

Woman screamed and some tried to flee, bu Croc gave a rather blood curdling growl at them as he began to rummage through the shelves of medication. He snarled as it seemed the items he was looking for were not to be found as easily as he had figured. His tail flicked in his frustration, knocking down a wall carelessly and sending bricks tumbling.
He didn't pay much attention to what was going on around him, the alarm ringing, the hostages crying and trying to escape as the clinic around them began to crumble. He was focused on finding the needed medication and so he could finish his plan and return to the sewers, he disliked being ' ontop' when he was in a weak condition.

Night patrols in Gotham tended to be long and tiresome, but that was just on good nights, when all one had to do was break up gang fights or intervene in drug deals. When then there were those nights when things went south from the word 'get go' and as Batgirl had learned early on, this night was one of those. Resting against her bike while the boys in blue wrote up their reports, Batgirl thought back to the notion that she was to have been in bed before two, but sleep - like her studies for the next day's Psychology exam would have to wait. It had been non-stop from the moment she had hit the streets, and after her third round of fighting - this one where three gangs had fought over a stupid garbage bin, a garbage bin for Christ's sakes - Batgirl wanted nothing more than to call it a night and find the bat-bed, but as luck would have it, the call coming over the closer squad car's radio told her that would be but a dream. A clinic was being rampaged though from the sounds of the excited voices coming across the air waves, Batgirl could have sworn there was a full scale battle taking place just a few blocks away. Resigned to her fate for the evening, Batgirl turned and climbed onto the bike before she kicked up the stand. a simple turn press of a button turned the motor over and though the officers yelled for her to return so she could sign off on their reports, Batgirl zoomed away into the darkness. Lindberg Clinic was one of Gotham's oldest and though it had seen its better days, it was still a favorite of hers when she needed the odd tourniquet or extremely powerful pain medicines, and though it sat smack dab at the juncture of four large gangs, the place held an almost neutral air about it, as it was favors by vigilantes and villains alike, though that truce now seemed to have been broken.
Arriving at the scene Batgirl took in the chaos around her, making note of all the people and vehicles that were trying to flee the scene of the mayhem, and though one car remained still, its lone occupant not seeming to be worried, Batgirl brushed it off as a curious spectator that wanted to see what would happen next, and though Batgirl wasn't there to provide any innocents with a live action show, the moment she saw the massive tail slide across the ruined floor not ten feet in front of her through the gaping hole in the outer wall, Batgirl knew she was in the horror flick of the week. She had heard of the tail's owner, read the files on him, but had never come into contact with the reptile commonly known as Killer Croc - until now - and one look at the collection of panic-stricken innocents inside, told her she had no choice but to protect them.., though just how was another question.

Once she's made it in the door, things happen extremely quickly for Nina. First step, she simply needs to locate the reptilian man who causes all this chaos. Fortunately, that's very easy - he's huge. Her eyes go to him on their own accord within a second. Second step, she needs to find him with her micro-telekinesis, which is again easy at such a short range. Especially since it seems that he's about as human on the inside as the outside, instantly confirming that she didn't get lost while she was reaching - that can happen with her power. Sometime she can't see the forest for all the pine needles... And actually, she finds the bizarre blend of reptile and human rather fascinating... But she can study him after she takes care of this problem.
The third thing that she needs to do is find his spinal cord. Fortunately, though she's used to dealing strictly with ordinary humans and a few assorted laboratory animals, all quadrupeds have the same basic design - almost the same exact combination of cells arranged in almost exactly the same configuration. The only real difference most of the time is the proportions - massive, in this case. In any event, finding a nerve is like finding a piece of hay in a haystack, and following it to the spinal cord takes only an instant more. The fourth thing is to find the part of his spinal cord at the base of his neck. This is actually a bit tricky, because from the perspective of her power, the whole thing is a massive tangle. Fortunately, this is hardly the first time she's quickly tried to find that location on a quadruped, and even if he's probably the biggest one she's done this on, his body is still that same design so it's hard for her to get lost.
Once she's found the right spot, which takes only some three seconds in total after she's stepped inside the clinic, the last step is to simply make that part of him no longer function. Not permanently - leaving him that way would be quite cruel, and fixing it would take much longer than breaking it - but she figures it would be very helpful if he was a quadriplegic for awhile. An hour perhaps? Yes, she'll go with that - she does know how to adjust the timetable later, if she needs to. How she accomplishes this task is simply summed up by saying that nerve cells are quite fragile and easily disrupted - that is why the body has the good sense to encase all these important ones in bone. They're not out of reach of her power, though, but the fact that his spinal cord is big along with the rest of him does mean that it takes her longer to disrupt the signals than it would have if he was a normal human.
Still, only a mere eight seconds in total would have passed since she entered the clinic before Croc would feel his whole body below the neck rapidly weaken until he can't so much as twitch a finger. Fortunately for him, Nina is hardly cruel enough to touch his sensory nerves while she's working on the motor nerves - aside from the feeling of weakness, he wouldn't feel a thing. It's probably undoubtedly annoying for a creature who likes to throw his weight around, but that's not something Nina is too concerned with. No, as she finishes that process her first thought is to check for anyone with severe injuries, so she begins to move away from where she'd paused a few steps within the doorway and further into the room - though she keeps her eyes on Croc for the moment.

He could smell them before they even entered the clinic, but Croc's mind was more focused on getting the medication he needed. He clawed his way through the cabinets and scattering the usless tuff on the ground, a low upset growl rolling in his throat as it seemed his search was gonna be fruitless. Croc finally found what he was searching for and grinned, then he remembered he wasn't alone and quick as his mind snapped to it, his tail slashed through the air and knocked right into batgirl, but at the exact same time, before he could turn around, Croc found himself collapsing to the gorund with a thud. His clawed hands still cluching the medication he was after.

Batgirl had no sooner entered the mostly destroyed clinic when she saw what appeared to be a woman that for all practical reasons seemed out of place. It wasn't so much that she was still standing when everyone else was either flat on the ground or cuddling each other in the far corner, but more the idea of the clothing - all black - and of course the mask.
Her attention on the masked woman, Batgirl froze, a fact that had so often gotten her into trouble in the past, and as luck would have it, would do so again. Before Batgirl knew it, she was flying backwards through the open-air clinic, before her body slammed into the far wall, back first with a sickening thud. It seemed like an eternity before Batgirl slid down the surface toward the floor, though as surprising as she had been with the unexpected tail-whipping, what Batgirl saw next beat what had happened to her all to hell.
For seemingly long seconds, Killer Croc just stood there, his attention on whatever he had been looking for, before he too collapsed to the ground to lay not far from her own location. The masked woman on the other hand still stood, as if she had not moved an inch, and for all the stars dancing around her mask, Batgirl wasn't sure the woman had moved at all, or if she had done something to Croc, but then something had had to have happened to him, and Batgirl it had not been anything she had done.
(OOC: Let me know if anything needs to be edited, and I will be most happy to comply - thank you.)

When she sees the reptilian man fall to the floor, Nina can't help but give a small, satisfied smile. While she's hardly the superhero type, normally, she does know that her gift is quite powerful and is actually quite proud of her skill with it. So she certainly gets quite a bit of satisfaction to see something so large and dangerous rendered harmless so easily. She approaches the fallen creature, watching him not just with her eyes but also the place where she'd disrupted his nerve signals with her gift - just making sure that she did it all perfectly and that he's not going to come to harm. But the rise and fall of his chest reassures her. She's careful to stay away from his head, however - she's left him fully able to move his head and neck, mostly to make this not too terribly uncomfortable to him, but that means he could still possibly bite.
"Sorry about that..." she tells him, though she doesn't expect him to accept her apology. She is sorry, though - not for stopping him, but because her method caused him to fall to the floor and that can't have felt pleasant. Her eyes then shift to the terrorized people who are looking on as if they're unsure about the situation. "You can go now," she tells them, as it's perfectly safe for them to leave now. And it's probably better for them to do so now anyway - she wouldn't put it past the good people of Gotham to turn on their tormentor now that he's helpless, so it's better if they leave while they're still frightened. Besides, it also clears the area of anyone able to simply leave, meaning that anyone who doesn't take this chance to go probably needs some help.
In fact, that's where Nina's attention turns after she shoos away those who are more or less in one piece - looking out for anyone who's left. And the first she turns to is Batgirl, because in spite of her distraction she didn't miss seeing that whip of the tail which sent the young woman flying. "Are you okay?" she asks. When she speaks she purposely makes her voice a bit lower than usual, just enough to change the quality of it to the point where there'd be some uncertainty about identifying her later on her voice alone. But in spite of that, there's a strong undercurrent of concern to it that partly makes up for the fact that her mask hides most of her expressions.

"All things considered, I'd say I'm doing fine, though I'll hurt in the morning."
Pulling herself up, out of the cracked and crumbled wall, Batgirl checked herself for possible injury only to then proceed to dust herself off. She had seen it all go down and though her heart was telling her what had just gone down in front of her - the mere wisp of a woman taking on Killer Croc without so much as laying a hand on him - was not possible, her mind was telling Batgirl that what she had just witnessed was entirely possible, that the woman standing before her was not ordinary, any more than say Supergirl was human.
"I saw what you did. I can't begin to understand it just yet, but I did see it. How long will Croc be like this?"
