Selina nodded to Diana's request. "It will be fantastic, trust me. And if you need help finding a dress for that, we might be able to find something in my closet if you aren't able to settle on anything. I also have an expansive gem collection," she added. As the two continued to walk into the park, Selina laughed. "Then what do you say of those ...mere mortals entering into the fight against evil and darkness..that aren't as blessed as most? I don't think they are any less worthy, but perhaps even more honorable and valiant to fight, considering they do not possess such additional skill." When Diana mentioned she too, had a warrior spirit, she had to smile lightly at that, her cheeks pinking.
"I may not have the same goal-oriented upbringing as your own contemporaries, Diana, but I have learned, considering Gotham has been my home, how to defend myself, and intervene for those who are in need as well. No forgiveness is needed, considering I tend to conduct myself differently until it's time is needed." And that was a clear understatement. Selina Kyle, herself, was a force to be reckoned with if crossed in the public eye. But Catwoman was stripped bare of niceties, and even more free in her, well, warrior-born ways.
As the men approached them, Selina rolled her eyes. Of course they would be a target, the duo of brunettes with fancy clothing and jewelry an easy job. She had encountered many of these sort of 'throw downs,' and had come out of them easily. But for Diana, who's championing strength may not be used to such grimy men, it may be startling. "No, they're not. They're thugs, and yes, probably about to rob, rape, or even mug us."
Grimly the words were murmured to the other woman, who curiously, was tugging her off to the side. There was a hefty crop of tall hedged to their right, but beating a hasty retreat at this point wouldn't quite help either of them, especially considering Selina was in heels. "That's not exactly going to help us right now, Diana," Selina said to her, reaching into her purse and tugging out a small black metal object. As the seeming ringleader confronted them again, Selina inwardly groaned. Guns. She never liked them, despite knowing quite well how to use them. Her fingertips brushed at her phone in her purse as well, hitting speed-dial, as she had learned early on was a smart idea to have Gotham's finest on hand. Hopefully one of the park police would see them, if they made enough noise, too. "Make some noise, Diana. Scream, if you can. Scream that there is a fire." It was better than screaming rape..and no one rushing to help.
"Something to remember us by? Sadly, I already have someone I'm seeing, and I don't think he'd be that happy with sharing, hon." Selina said sweetly, her wrist snapping out, and the baton extending with a metallic shkk. As her eyes flicked about the group, she counted four. Not a bad number, but Diana..may not be the best help she could be, despite her own words of peace and sisterhood. But she hoped, deep down, the woman would at least know some basic self-defense.

Diana appreciated Selina’s kind gesture. First she had offered her a man. Now she was offering her a gown and jewelry. Was there no end to this woman’s generosity?
Diana loved hearing Selina express her view on “mere mortals” and appreciated her perspective. Yes, Diana had to agree that their bravery made them just as worthy, honorable, and valiant as those who had super-powers. Their passion for fighting against crime and injustice could not be denied or ignored. It made Diana happy when Selina smiled and blushed at her comment about having a warrior’s spirit. It made her proud that someone so noble could be so humble, as well.
Diana was glad to hear that Selina could defend herself . . . and others, if necessary. Selina admitted to having a duality about herself, and Diana tried to picture Selina fighting in the heat of battle in her mind’s eye. The scene played out magnificently, and the victory was sweet. Diana had no clue that Selina was Catwoman, and so she gave Selina the credit on her own merit.
As the men approached, Diana knew she’d see her dream about Selina become a reality. They would both have to defend and protect themselves from these ruffians, and Diana had confidence that Selina, who had shown to be intelligent and resourceful, could hold her own in battle.
Diana’s eyes widened when Selina told her that the men would probably rob, rape, and possibly abuse them with their hands and weapons. Diana had never had intimacy with a male, and the thought of that happening with these gang members sickened her.
Diana didn’t know why Selina wouldn’t move when she tugged on her arm. When Selina reached inside her purse for her cell phone to speed-dial the police, Diana didn’t know what was happening. All she knew was she had to get away. She didn’t have her powers in this persona. She needed to change into Wonder Woman.
When Selina told her to make some noise to attract the attention of others in the park, Diana raised her voice in a high-pitched shrill, and the men raised their weapons and lunged them at her and Selina. Diana looked at the guns pointed at her and wished she had her bracelets on so she could deflect the bullets if they decided to pull the trigger. She hated being this vulnerable.
She surmised that Selina was confused about Diana’s desire for a hasty retreat. Actually, Diana never ran from a fight, but she needed her belt, the source of her Amazon powers. She wasn’t wearing it and was powerless. She knew this wasn’t the time to explain it to Selina. Their situation was getting more dangerous by the second.
Diana watched as the men closed in on them. She had to do something. Grabbing the baseball bat from the man closest to her, she flipped him when she jerked it away and started swinging wildly. Clearing a path for herself, she started running as fast as her legs would carry her.
The men asked their leader if he wanted them to chase after her.
“Nah. Let her go,” he responded, sweeping back Selina’s hair with his fingertips to get a better view of her sparkling diamond earrings. “This is the one we want.”

Why wasn't she moving? Because in all honestly, the woman who she knew was Diana Prince, and further, Princess Diana, and delving further, Wonder Woman wouldn't just run at the sight of several unsavory men. But even as she acted oddly, Selina did what she would do normally; which was fight. It didn't take much for her to spring into action, her early days flooding into her system, despite the rather couture clothing that she was wearing, instead of decrepit hand-me-downs. But rote was rote, and as the metallic click echoed in her ears, Diana's dutiful scream close on the heels of that, she smiled. While it didn't seem to push the men away, she continued to do nothing, but stand there. It was only when Diana grabbed the bat from one of the men and took him down did she smile. The Amazonian wasn't utterly worthless at the moment..until she ran.
Ran.
Great. All the better for her to do this on her own, with few questions asked. As she held the baton in one hand, the three remaining men closing in on her, she dropped her purse between her feet. While a brave soul touched at her hair, Selina held her ground. No point in wasting her own precious energy while Diana...did whatever the fuck she was doing.
"Like I haven't heard that before, love." She murmured, her elbow darting out to nail the man in the throat, another knee raising into his groin. While she was a blur of activity, spun a quarter turn, the baton cracking the second man straight across the face, a bellow and a cascade of blood running down his face as he fell to his knees. There was one man bellowing about his crushed nose, another in the fetal position from his 'groin injury.' While the nosebleed tried to advance on her, her hand swung out in practiced economy, the metal weapon smashing into his kneecap, and, not surprisingly, the man falling to the ground, again, his voice raised in an alternating weeping and pleading for her to stop.
"Shit, I've hit you once. You asking for another, asshole?" Selina spat, her eyes wild. As she turned, her eyes flicking from the two downed men, desperately seeking for the fourth. She knew Diana had taken out one with the bat...but where was the last man. No panic rose in her throat, but a sense of eerie calm came over her. It wasn't like she was supposed to be scared. She was born of Gotham, it's stench and life ran in her veins. It was only in the night's air had she refined and honed her learned skills, and slapping on a socially acceptable way for her to practice them, did she ever tout such knowledge. And thankful for her, Diana wasn't around to question her effortless prowess. If she did, she could just say there was a quaint little joint where she practiced with an old friend. Krav Maga, a few other forms of martial arts. She'd never admit that she'd tussled with Batman more than once, and usually had full leather on, boots to her knees, two fists full of claws, and a whip. The baton was just...for Selina. Even thought it was becoming more and more an asset, she might was well purchase another and carry it at night. Easily replaceable, too.
But while she was scanning for the remaining threat, and thinking, she missed the other man sneaking...

Diana heard a commotion break out behind her as she ran to find a secluded spot. She hated leaving Selina to face that motley crew alone, but danger threatened, and Wonder Woman was needed!
Stopping behind a huge tree, Diana spread her arms wide and began to turn in circles. As her spinning gained momentum, she summoned the dormant mystical gifts within her - - powers bestowed upon her by the gods of Mount Olympus. In seconds, the true nature of her being surged through her, exploding outward and bathing her entire body in a giant ball of light. When the blinding flash dissipated, the transformation was complete. Diana Prince was gone, and in her place stood . . . Wonder Woman!
Taking a running leap, Wonder Woman flew through the air, her bracelets glinting in the sunlight. She landed in a defensive posture several yards behind Selina and her unseen attacker. As the man lunged for Selina, Wonder Woman managed to throw out her lasso and rope him around the neck like a bull. He struggled against the lasso, but Wonder Woman was too strong, or the powers of the magic lasso were. With a snap of her wrist, she heaved him off his feet where he landed hard on his backside, groaning and bellowing with pain and fury.
Before the hoodlum could collect his wits and make a semi-graceful departure from the Amazon Princess, she grabbed him by his throat and lifted him high into the air, completely off his feet. He coughed as she started shaking him so that his body flapped back and forth like a flag on a windy day.
“Well?” she asked. “Don’t you have anything to say for yourself?”
“I’m sorry?” he tried desperately.
Suddenly, Wonder Woman’s hard expression softened into a dazzling smile. It felt good to have her powers again. “Apology accepted,” she told him sweetly before dropping him down to the sidewalk. He whimpered in pain as he fell hard to the ground again.
Just then, one of the other gang members sat up and fired his gun at Selina. “DIE, BITCH!” he yelled at the top of his lungs.
Using her lightning speed and reflexes, Wonder Woman moved even faster than the bullet and deflected it with her bracelet just as effortlessly as if she were playing a game of catch. She didn’t know who was more shocked, Selina or the gunman.
"These toys are a little too dangerous for you boys,” she told him as she took his weapon away from him and crushed it with her bare hand. “Somebody might get hurt."
After tying up the quintet of would-be robbers with her magic lasso, Wonder Woman turned to Selina and checked her exposed body parts for any bruises, lacerations, or serious wounds. “Are you all right?” she asked with genuine concern.

Surprise was one thing that took quite a bit to achieve in Selina. Gothamite, thief, a woman who has such close friends as the Riddler, Batman, and other such characters was not easily taken aback by another costumed man, or woman appearing out of the blue. Or in this case, the bushes.
The whole thing didn't faze her. The fact Diana screamed, and ran off...well, it made sense, to those who didn't know what Selina knew. Any visiting person would tend to freak out. But even as Diana Prince-cum-Princess Diana-cum-Wonderwoman would...run off into the bushes? It baffled Selina. The slight fluttering and burst of light were suspect as well, and caught her attention enough that the man sneaking up on her got to nearly within a few yards of her, ready to rape, or do whatever nasty activities he had planned after stripping her of her valuables. So for the crime-fighter's sudden appearance, she was quite grateful. It was a different sort of fighting she was witnessing, much different than the gritty, blunt-force of Batman and his sidekicks, and not quite the same as the only other female fighter she knew; Hawkgirl.
So while the Amazon fought, her lasso at her side, she was sidelined until the nastiness was shouted her way, a gun brandished, and subsequently fired, and shut down, the red, white and blue clad woman a blur as she plucked the weapon from the man's hands and crushed it like a toy, as well as deflecting the bullet. She could only hope it wouldn't hit some innocent bystander.
Gasping several lungfuls of air, Selina closed the baton and slipped it back into her purse, smirking at the iconic super-heroine. "Just a bit shaken, I admit. It's been a while since I've been jumped before dinner. I appreciate your concern, but it does seem that I've lost track of my companion." A bit of a smile flirted with the corners of her lips, green eyes meeting the Amazonian beauty's. Later they'd have to talk. And have a proper welcome, as well.
It wasn't much longer before the sirens of the loyal, but perpetually late Gotham PD would be heard in the background, heralding their entrance to the now-defunct near mugging.
