It had been ages since Summer actually had some free time. It seemed like if she wasn’t working she was working out or in search of some story that occupied her entire life. Today, however, Summer was going to take a break from work and actually enjoy herself. The redhead had her assistant attempt to get ahold of Selina’s assistant, but after a round of phone tag Summer simply texted the woman herself in order to make plans. Clearly up for anything, the two decided on a shopping spree in the city and the young reporter couldn’t be more excited. It had seemed like a couple of weeks before she pulled out her card and swiped it endlessly throughout the course of a day alongside one of her good friends. It was a much needed trip to relieve herself of the stress and drama that her career forced upon her. By updating her wardrobe and spending the nice afternoon stopping in store after store with Selina, Summer was sure that this was just what she needed.
Dressing casual for once, the redhead couldn’t resist slipping into a pair of flats after months of wearing nothing but heels. While her feet had grown used to the strain of wearing them every single day for work, she felt odd slipping into something else. Summer took only a brief moment to look in the mirror before grabbing her designer bag and sunglasses off the island bar and heading out of her flat. Living within the city made it an easy walk to their destination, but this was her day to relax so she called on her reliable town car anyways. The friendly face of her driver was there to open the door for her the moment she stepped outside and Summer quickly climbed inside and struck up a small conversation.
Within minutes, they had reached their destination and Summer stepped out of the car adjusting her scarf. They two arranged to meet at their favorite coffee shop so they could grab a macchiato before their endless shopping endeavor. Not seeing Selina as she walked inside and pushed her sunglasses to the top of her head, Summer approached the counter and ordered her drink, flashing a flirty smile to that barista as she sat down and waited for them to call her back up for her beverage. Texting absent-mindedly, Summer barely noticed her surroundings as she waited for Selina, eager to be reunited with her friend and catch up on everything she had missed over the last few months of endless working. They were both so busy it seemed like they rarely saw each other unless it was at some event. Needless to say, today was much needed.

This was not how she wanted to spend the day. After recieving a very welcome text from Summer, Selina had pushed most of her itinerary to the next day. But there was one call, sadly, she could not refuse. So while she dressed, prepared her bag, got into the cab, and even as she got out, she had to continue the rather complex conversation in French. Second time, it seemed that she'd had other engagements overlap with their demands. Sadly, she was under contract with them, so there was nothing she could do about it. Not yet, and not now, of all places.
So as she exited the cab at the location, smiliing apologetically and offering the driver an extra twenty, she scanned the outside tables. No redhead. Hm. Continuing the conversation via her headset, Selina cupped a hand over her eyes to peer through both her sunglasses, and the window, and waved at the woman, holding up two fingers. Hopefully Summer would understand her order. Switching to one finger held up, she pointed to her headset, which, oddly, was hidden by part of her dark sheaf of hair. It shouldn't take her longer. She hoped.
It was a mere seven minutes later when Selina finally walked through the door, headset still hidden, but no accented voice yammering in her ear. She'd taken a cue to dress casually as well. While her friend was a reported, they both liked to 'take a day off' so to speak. It was nice to see someone in jeans, and flats, instead of the couture and stilettos she was used to. She herself had chosen a charcoal grey wrap dress, and black boots, a smattering of amythist showing in earrings, a ring, and a few delicate bracelets adoring her wrists. A bag large enough to fit a laptop, and Selina had been ready. Summer always understood fashion, and there was no need to impress the woman. Still, Selina's green eyes lit up as she saw her friend, opening her arms for a hug, that would hopefully not topple their coffee.

Taking a sip of her coffee, she was pleasant surprised that for once she wasn’t late. She didn’t mind that Selina had been. After all, they had a mutual understanding when it came to that sort of thing. Both were incredibly busy, successful women and Summer was completely content with her iPhone, coffee and cute barista to notice that Selina was even more than a few moments late. When she happened to look up and see her friend, she emitted an excited little shriek and jumped up from the booth, preparing to embrace the woman she hadn’t seem in weeks. “How have you been? Goodness, it’s been ages!” Summer explained as she slung her bag over her shoulder and grabbed her coffee.
She was more than prepared to leave and get on with the day before the kid at the counter asked for her number. It would be awkward to decline at this point, regardless of how cute he was, Summer liked to date older, more successful men. “Do you want anything before we leave? My treat, seriously. I haven’t seen you in forever! How’s the business going? According to my interns it seems to be very well.” Summer said with a playful wink, waiting to see whether her friend wanted a drink or not before they climbed into a taxi and started toward the nearest designer boutique that was one of the many stops on their rounds.
Summer couldn’t begin to explain how much she needed this day, simply because she had fallen behind in the socialization world whereas Selina continued to thrive. “I’m so glad we could get together,” she began. “I need your help…I know it’s only in a matter of days…but.” She took a deep breath before spewing the truth. “I totally forgot to find an outfit for the ‘Dressed to Kill’ event until now, so obviously I am going to need your help with it being this short notice. Are you up for the challenge? Oh, who are you going with, by the way.” Summer mused playfully, failing to mention that not only did she have a dress, shows and accessories but she also failed to find herself a suitable date.

Selina nodded vigarously, enveloping her friend in her arms, coffee and handbag shifted so neither would spill on either of their outfits. "It's fantastic to see you! Well, see you in person, and not on air, I mean. Not to say that isn't worthwhile, it's just different!" She rambled, almost forgetting to swap from French to English. "But coffee sounds fantsatic. I'll take whatever you're drinking, but with more espresso. You order?" Fishing her earpiece from her hair, she dropped the small device into her handbag, and laughed.
"Business has been going well. Busy. And I had a few overseas trip. China, for one has some fantastic bars," she laughed again, waving a hand animatedly. "You seem to be doing well on air. Any stories in the works thus far, or anything I can help you with?" She dealt in information, and Summer made TV out of it, so coupled together, she had made tv worthwhile for her friend. She just hoped Summer wouldn't press too much on one topic. Then again, she had been in the public eye moreso than normal with a certain tall, monied man.
As her own coffee was done, she grabbed it, relishing the smell of awakenes. She'd been surviving on little sleep lately, and depending on entirely too much caffiene. Raising a brow, she racked her brain to think of the even Summer was talking about. "Shit. I don't think I've even thought about that one; be it outfit, or date. It's good you got a hold of me for this, I need something as well!" She didn't want to go with the standard red, or black..but there weren't that many other colors she cared to wear. "I may have someone in mind for a date, if he's not already occupied, but who are you thinking? What about that anchor on station 13? I heard he's single?" Came a somewhat hopeful tip. She might be able to find someone for her friend to take.

Barely able to contain her excitement, Summer turned to face the barista and order insuring to have him add the extra espresso. The redhead was always a bit of a child when it came to her coffee, adding an unnecessary amount of creamers and caramel to make it taste more like liquid candy than actual coffee. She watched him momentarily flashing him a playful smile before she turned back to face her much missed friend. “Was that your earring?” Summer asked, arching an eyebrow in question as she caught Selina’s swift movement and drop something into her purse. Pressing her coffee to her lips, she tasted it timidly to test the temperature. Once she was convinced that it was not too how, she took another sip. “Oh my gosh, I can imagine! What was it like there? I am so jealous! I heard there was a bar there where you take your shoes off and there are beds everywhere, how awkward of a situation would that be to pick up a guy?” Once Selina’s coffee had been repaired, Summer slipped the barista a small tip and sent a flirty wink in his direction before they started into the car, not bothering to pause her conversation for a brief moment. “Oh! Actually, I have an open slot on my show next week: Thursday. You can totally fill it up for me if you don’t already have plans. Having someone like you on the show would get my boss off my back. Ever since his wife left him he has been a complete tool. Oh my gosh, if you could do this for me you would be the best friend ever and I would totally owe you!” The petite red head climbed into the town car, allowing Selina to slide in first. Shutting the door behind them, Summer used the mirror to make eye contact with their driving, providing him of the name of the first designer store in a long list of them that the pair was sure to visit that day. A girlish laugh fell from the reporter’s lips, “Aren’t we a pair! I swear, I do this every time. So that is our mission today; we will not give up until we find the perfect gowns for the gala.” Summer proclaimed dramatically. At her friends words, the redhead’s curiosity piqued as a sly smirk spread across her face. “Oh really? Who are you taking? Is he someone that matters or just another filler.” It was not easy for Summer to find a date, in fact, they often sought her out. However, seeing as she was going to do a majority of covering the event and it was almost better to simply casually flirt amongst the wealthy and eligible members of Gotham’s elite. Allowing a sigh to fall from her lips, she shrugged at her friend’s suggestion. “Oh, Roger? He is good looking. But I don’t know if I could bear to spend another hour with him. He asked me to go for a jog the other day and talked about his spray tan the entire time. We would make a good looking pair though.” outfit: click

Selina cracked a smile. "No, it was my earpiece, but I'm done with my conversation, so I'm good for now. Sorry about that, by the way." She pulled back her hair to show that yes, she was still wearing her earrings, and hadn't slipped one off.
Was China as extravagant as described? Well, yes. But it had been more 'work' motivated, than fun. So as she scrunched up her nose, she shook her head at the redhead. "It may have been like that, but...I was there for work, and let me tell you, it wasn't the best. It rained. I ruined one of my suits...I did get pretty smashed one night, let me tell you." She gave her friend a devious look and raised a brow, clearly leaving out the '...so drunk she had to be showered by Batman' part. It was just the details. Small details.
Taking her finally decent coffee, she laughed, agreeing to pop in. "That's all it is? You just want me to chat, or are you going to grill me, or do you want me to talk about work? I need a teeny tiny bit to work with here. And I need to know what to wear!" Especially if she was going to be on tv. Boots, jeans, and a tunic might not swing it. "Maybe I will just let you find me something today to wear for Thursday. How about that? And not trashy!" She laughed.
Slipping into the car, she sipped at her espresso, eyes closed in delight as she sat back, only popping one eye open when Summer laid out their agenda for the day. The woman was so bubbly!
"I'm not..exactly taking anyone. Lex and I are co-hosting it. So...I am sort of assigned to him. So my would-be date is taking someone else. I asked him to save me a dance. So...You know. And yeah, Roger. Unless you find someone else! I wouldn't want to foist him on you."

Summer smiled; clearly she was spending too much time at work. Why she had assumed Selina would be wielding any type of recording device around her ears was silly, foolish even. The redhead quickly disregarded her assumption instantly. “Oh, just curious, I didn't think about your earpiece.” She hoped to cover her foolish question. The young news reporter would love to travel the world and catch a glimpse of the wide varieties of cultures outside of her own. However, with a strict and binding contract that tightly restrained her to Gotham Live, which was far from realistic. Maybe when she managed to earn a bit more of vacation time she would look into traveling out of the states, though it seemed as though most of her vacation time was spend as a result of her danger-prone tendencies. Summer’s face lit up at the last part of her sentence, “Did you have to have strangers carry you home?” The redhead teased – off the record of course. Despite how much she valued her career, she valued her friendship more and would not let the woman be placed in an unpleasant light. "I heard some of the stuff they serve over there is pretty strong. I don’t think I could handle China’s drinking scene. You know me – I take like, three shots and I am already drunk.”
Summer couldn’t help but grin. “You know me; I am not going to rip you to pieces on the air. That’s what the rest of Gotham’s elite is for.” She teased, with a playful wink. “Actually, I went to Arkham the other day to visit a dear friend and your name was brought up in the hallway. Aren’t you developing a new plan for tighter security or something? I feel like that would make a very interesting story – if it is not too soon. It would certainly ease the mind of the viewer's at home and make you look like a complete saint. I personally feel as though it’s a wonderful idea. Or we can just discuss the upcoming gala. It will be fun, really! Just like we’re talking over tea, only will all of Gotham watching.” There was no denying that she was very interested in the potential security modifications, in fact, she had already attempted her deal of snooping during her visit at the asylum only to be escorted out with little findings. “Oh, don’t worry about that. The station provided me with a stylist when I first started, so I am a bit of a pro at this point. And not trashy, promise. But as a well-known socialite – who is seemingly single, might I add – you are obligated to show a little bit of cleavage.” Sitting up straight in her seat, the bubbly reporter was beginning to feel the caffeine rush kick in. Summer honestly didn’t even want to take a date to the gala after the last charity event she attended. By the time she was done covering the media aspect he flawless aspiring model had already taken advantage of the free bar and was beyond recognizable at this point. By the time she could actually enjoy herself she was having her camera man drag him into the back of the studio van so she could cart her belligerent date back to her home. “At least Roger would behave himself. I better hold off before I confirm anything. My boss seemed persistent on coming with me. He’s a little offended that he wasn’t personally invited and he signs my checks….so I might be stuck with his recently single, moody self the entire night now that I think about it." outfit: click

Selina almost choked. Did she have anyone carry her home? Not exactly. But she laughed, the back of her hand pressed to her mouth. "No, but I did need to be poured into the cab that brought me home. My friend was at dinner with me...and it was a fantastic night. We ate, drank, chatted it up, just us two girls. Honestly, I think you're the only one that could do a night that liquid with me. If you wanted." She knew Summer didn't drink as much as she could for a younger woman, then again, Selina tried to keep it to social engagements, too. But some nights just required a cocktail or eight.
Laughing, she was grateful to have at least one ally in the media. Considering that little endeavor had happened during the curfews, she didn't exactly want to go more into the hows and why's and all the rest of how she'd skirted not only the curfew, but the embargo on leaving or entering the city.
"I know, but you're fun company, either way, and you know that. And oh. Yes. I'm headlining, or whatever you want to call the revamping of the Asylum. Lex Luthor is technically funding it, but I'm doing the overhaul; from top to bottom, there is a trifold plan, and a lot of other details that are boring." Now she was curious who had been spilling the beans, but it wasn't under lock and key that she was using Lex's money, but the 'official' details hadn't exactly been released, either.
Closing her eyes in a bit of relief, she nodded, listening to magic words. Stylist was one of them. "Really, over tea? And we can do either way. Hype up the Gala so more folks can scamper for the 'limited tickets,' I can discuss a bit of the problems that Gotham is facing, but it will be teasers, not the full thing. The entire press release will be post the Gala. But you and Vicki will be there pre-gala, and during. I don't quite know if they're going to broadcast all of the events that the night entails, but..hell, it looks like you have at least one show's worth of me, if not more?" She smirked, going to sip at her coffee as Summer spoke again. And then she stopped, as her love life was brought in to play.
"Well. Let's go with 'seemingly' for now. I am seeing someone. Someone's..." It was always so hard to classify that. Technically: it was one person. But also, technically: it was two personas. Shrugging, she let that topic roll off her tongue like it was nothing. Which, to be honest, it was. Tapping her lip, she had an idea. "What's asshole-bosses' name? I can get out an invite to him to get him off your back. I'll even sign and address it myself. If it can get him in good graces, hopefully he'll lay off you, too. But Roger isn't a bad afterthought, either."

“That sounds amazing. God, I couldn’t tell you the last time I took a break from the show and actually went out. I am so down for it. Just make sure I don’t do something that is going to have me end up on my own show.” She teased. Summer didn’t drink much, solely for the fact that she was always being watched and didn’t particularly have the money to make her actions of the night disappear most other of the Gotham’s elite. Even though she was considered a socialite, at the end of the day she was still just the press and had to watch her every move, especially when other media mistress’s were involved. “I am sure we will have enough time to talk about both, seeing as the Gala is pretty much the talk of the city and you updating the Asylum is something else that will get the citizens of Gotham in good spirits. It will be a nice switch up from the typical crime and catastrophes that seem to make it on my show.” Summer had her sources, though most of her sources didn’t even know that they were her sources. The pretty redhead had many ways of obtaining information and an equally subtle way of verifying that information. For example; while she had heard of Selina’s intentions, she wasn’t sure if it was the truth until now. However, the gorgeous brunette had just confirmed her answer. “That’s so exciting! What made you take interest in the Aslyum? That is certainly going to get your name out there in the security business. I mean, if you can secure an Asylum, what can’t you secure?”Summer was excited for this interview. It was always easy to discuss things with individuals that she was familiar with. Then again, the young redhead took it upon herself to insure that she knew a lengthy background about everyone she encountered on her show. Each minute was precious time on her show and secrets that could be uncovered; she didn’t need to waste the time with filler questions. “This is perfect! You are the best! Of course everything is going to be a teaser, that’s basically what my job is – teasing the general public about what is going to happen and providing the facts about things that already have.” She paused for a moment, trying to remember her boss’s plans for the evening. “I know I am covering pre-gala on Gotham Live, but it is to be aired and edited for the evening show. And then the footage covered during the gala is going to be aired the next day on my morning show. He’s insisting that I take part of the date auction thing for the sake of ratings. Please don’t let me be bought by some eighty year old man with a redhead fetish. I would rather be bought by the Joker.” She replied, obviously exaggerating. As curious as ever, Summer leaned in with her eyes wide. “Who are you seeing? Why do I not know about this?” The fact that Selina was offering to send her grumpy old boss and invitation just proved how great of a friend she was. “Oh, that’s so sweet! Thanks! But- I don’t want to be a bother. Besides, I loved the look on his face when I told him I was invited and he wasn’t” She replied with a smirk. outfit: click

"You work too much!" Selina starts with. She of course, as a good friend would do, watches religiously. Even if she has to watch days later, and laughs at some of the 'news.' She has always been there in a pinch when her dear friend has needed time. "And trust me. We'll have privacy-a good view, though, and VIP, no matter where we end up. Let's just say I have connections to a few rather good places." And she did.
But as her friend mentioned the gala, she scrunches up her nose slightly. Yes, it's a big undertaking, and yes, it's thrusting her into most news avenues, but it's so tiring. Lex Luthor is a beast of sorts, and not in the best way one would imagine. "True. But the Gala will be the fun part. The rest...is going to take a lot of thought, planning, and elbow grease." Another sip of her coffee to calm her nerves, and she raises a brow mid-sip at the redhead.
"Honestly, and off the record, but it's good money, and good for business. And I'm guessing your sources didn't mention that it's not only the Asylum, but Blackgate, too." Winking at her friend, she tucks a lock of hair behind her ear.
At Summer's excitement, Selina laughs. "A teaser. I can get behind that. And oh! That is something. I never thought to air it like that. It will pull in the viewers, you know. And that isn't going to allow you much time to get the pre-stuff on. The teasers, as you put it. Aria Lloyd will also be there, with the press. I don't think Lex will be able to make that part. He has 'business' to attend to, but I will be there, and you can get as much footage as you need of the space," she paused, eyes going sly. "It's just something else. Not what you would expect for a Gala, but hell, it's Lex-fucking-Luthor we're talking about. And from what I have learned, he's go big, or go home!" Another laugh, and Selina is on again.
Waving her hand dismissively, Selina shakes her head at the auction mention. "I'm even going to be auctioned. Trust me, it's going to be mildly humilating, but totally worth it. And I'll try! I just...ugh. Don't mention him. After the little spree he's had, I'm surprirsed no one has gotten their hands on him yet." An eyeroll punctuates that comment, and a mental note to talk to a certain someone is stashed away for later.
Pressing a finger to the redhead's forehead, she then wags a finger in her face. "Not official yet! And trust me. It'd be ratings gold. And it's no bother. Grumpy Boss McGee will be taken care of. I will blame Lex for not remembering ALL the important media members."

Summer giggled, unable to admit that she actually agreed with the woman. The young reporter’s career was pretty much her entire life. Her success had gained her a lot of attention not to mention helped boost her successfully in Gotham city. Everyone knew her name for one reason or the other, and Summer wasn’t willing to take a simple hiatus in order to change that. The word connections brought a smirk to the pretty redheads face. God, what would she do without Selina on her side? She loved being considered one of the successfully business owners close friends. Not only did it serve as a major career boost, but it helped steer her ratings in a progressive direction as well as well as provide her with someone she knew would have her back. “I can imagine. I mean, my job is just to cover the event and it seems like a lot of work. I can only imagine how much time and effort it takes to plan it.” She nodded, taking a hearty sip from her coffee now that it had cooled. The car came to a stop and the driver informed them they had arrived to their destination. Making sure that she beat Selina when it came to handing the man a tip, she then threw her bag over her shoulder as she climbed out of the car. Making sure not to make a lag in the conversation, she waited for the brunette and looked at her wide-eyed. “Blackgate too? I didn’t know that. I mean, honestly my source was really just me being nosy the last time I made a visit to Arkham. If I hadn’t been so compliant the guard said that he was going to take me out in cuffs so I decided for the sake of my wrists it was time to leave.” More than excited that she agreed to appear on her show, that certainly made things a lot easier on Summer. “Thanks! That’s amazing! This is all so exciting. This is probably one of the biggest events I have covered all year.” Summer anxiously couldn’t wait until she was able to meet Lex Luthor: the man behind the curtain. She only hoped she might get that opportunity later. Summer couldn’t help but blush at her comment. Of course, she wouldn’t actually like being purchased by the Joker – in fact, the sound of the sentence itself just sounded wrong. Well, maybe it wouldn’t be too bad depending on the story she got out of it. There she was thinking of her career and disregarding the foolishness of her ideas. Quickly, she returned back the conversation. “It’s different with you. You are the glamorous, wealthy and successful hostess. You will have bidders every second. I am just that ‘nosy little redhead on TV’” She replied with a smile as she held the store door open for her friend. Smiling as Selina reached for her forehead, Summer giggled at her friend. “Okay, not official yet.” She repeated with a wink. “And you don’t have to worry about him. He’s harmless. I am basically the face of Gotham Live. He can complain all he wants. But really, you are the best!” outfit: click

"Mmm." Was all she was willing to say out in public. The younger woman handed the man a tip before she did, and Selina just shook her head. She had the money for it. Summer didn't have to always cover everything.
"It's taken quite a bit of planning, and communication. Both Arkhams, a select handful of the Doctors on staff, Gordon, Bullock. A few other consultants." Hawkgirl, for one. Bruce Wayne, for another. Elise Noble. But those three were silent consultants. If she were really going to raze both compounds, she needed the best in Gotham to help her.
"And don't let that little aspect get out." Sipping her coffee, she walked in stride with the younger, brighter-haired friend. Shaking her head, Selina snickered. "Bidding is closed. And open to only certain participants. And I'll be up there, so don't worry about it. Seriously. And yes, but all that glamour, wealth, and success comes at a price. A very boring, fake price, sometimes. I'm rather private, you know. And because I know you, and am quite sure you're not going to stab me in the back, I indulge your show. And you. But I didn't become a media darling on purpose."
"Not official." Winking to her friend, she took in a deep breath, ready to shop. This would be a good day. "And trust me, I'll take care of the windbag. Make it seem like it was the plan the entire time. It will work, you trust me on that."

“I’m sure they are all grateful that you are willing to take on a project so large. I mean, I think it’s brilliant honestly. It’s going to make my job a bit harder when it comes too trying to get in the building, but I feel safer already with you handling it." Summer had her fair share of enemies locked away within the asylum walls that were just dying to escape. It had happened before, numerous times and it was only a matter of time before another series of outbreaks were attempted. The last thing she needed was to have some very angry occupants that she had scored in the past to be back on the streets of Gotham. Summer couldn’t help her nose from wrinkling slightly when her ex’s name was mentioned, though she hoped Selina hadn’t caught it. “You don’t have to worry about me, like I said –today is for fun. Everything is just completely off the record.” Summer knew it might be hard to make close friends with her career, seeing as it was basically her job to expose everyone’s dirty little secrets. However, the redhead was completely loyal to those that she did consider worth of her friendship, Selina included in that limited group. Still, her nerves only continued to grow as she was further informed of the auction. She had insisted to not be a part of it, but her boss seemed to think the sake of ratings was more important than her personal interests. “Well, that’s good to know. Maybe some sexy, wealthy business owner will buy me for an evening or something. Knowing my luck that won’t happen, but hey, I can dream.” She said with a smile. Summer drifted toward the main display in the middle of the store, her eyes wide as she took in the excess amount of embellishment and the pretty pale pink color. “Oh my god, I love this.” Taking the opportunity to seize the Gotham Live credit card out of her boss’s hand when he informed her she had to find something worthy to wear, she was wasn’t too concerned about the cost. “I mean, if you ever feel like trading lives with someone for a day, pick me.” She teased, sending a playful smile over her shoulder. “Wait- you really will?” Allowing her eyes to leave the dress once more she pulled Selina into a grateful hug. “This will be perfect! And you are going to take care of my jerk of a boss for me? Seriously, you are my fairy godmother right now. There has to be something I can do to make it up to you!”outfit: click notes: So it took so dreadfully long! You are the best <3

Selina cast a glance around. "Honestly, I don't know why Luthor didn't go with Wayne's company, or Psypher Tech. Wayne does handle security, and Psypher had..well, tech. I know the gal who runs it, and ...I don't know." She was slightly confused about how she got the gig over two, or more better, more qualified companies. At least in her eye. But perhaps it was the fact that she did straight up security, instead of diversified interests like Bruce, that snagged her the gig.
Sometimes she wished the bid hadn't gone to her. Not that she'd admit to that, but still. It was a large undertaking. And with those few little words 'off the record,' Selina relaxed. Of course it would be. And with Summer, she always gave asked for a list of topics to discuss, which was pretty decent of her to do. Other's had been taken aback before on Summer's show. But at least her ginger friend knew her boundaries. And that she'd walk off set, live tv, even, if it got too bad.
"Hell, they might. There will be a lot of investors, and that sort at this gig. But enough of the work talk. I say we look for outfits." She didn't tell her friend as they wandered through the racks and rows that she'd been out three times already, and found nothing. Sometimes all it took was someone else to find something. Teamwork. As Selina eyed the frothy, feathery pink number, she bit her tongue. It was gorgeous, and so, so Summer. A teeny bit short, but who cared. She pretty much vetoed the entrance. Her party, she'd allow who she wanted. Black tie sometimes didn't translate well to TV. Ratings, and such.
As they embraced, Selina was grateful. Summer was so..free. And young. But she knew how to navigate like just like the best of them. "Yes, I will. And if you don't stop eye-fucking that dress, someone else might snap it up before you do! Now, shoes, and earrings, hon. Then I think you'll be set." Well, at least one dress was down, no?
"Yes. Its not that hard to issue another invite. We've been managing RSVP's for a few weeks now, and with every 'we can't make it' we re-issue another one. Folks will be getting invited up until the last minute. Did you hear that Clark Kent will be attending for Metropolis' paper? The Daily Planet, I think?"

“Maybe he went after you because you are much easier to work with. I wouldn’t think about it too much. You have a very successful and promising company, why wouldn’t he choose Black Cat. Speaking of Lex, he’s not bad on the eyes is he? I mean, I am not typically one for the bald look, but he majorly pulls it off.” Though she had yet to meet the successful man, she had done her research and it was safe to say his good looks seemed to rival his wealth. A smile broke out across the young reporters face at Selina’s suggestion. “You are so right. No more work today, we need to focus on getting dresses.” That was much easier said than done. Summer was in love with at least three dresses already and had only walked into the store seconds prior. “Any idea what you are looking for in particular? I know it’s not recommended, but I need something short. I am going to be moving around a lot prior to the event for the coverage, not to mention I have really nice legs.” She commented playfully, eager to hear what Selina was looking for. She literally stood in front of the mannequin that sported the pale pink number for a good five minutes, taking in the embellishments and flowy material. “This is just so perfect.” Her eyes glued to the dress, she only looked away at Selina’s comment, laughing. “I was not! It’s just so pretty! I think, I think you are right. I will try looking at other ones. But I am pretty sure this one and I were meant to be.” She said dramatically, taking the opportunity to look at the other dresses the store displayed. “You like dark, dramatic colors, right? What about this one for you? I love the cut outs on the sides.” Starting toward another dress, her eyes glued to it. “Kent? Really? Hey, he’s not bad looking either.” Summer said with a mischievous smirk. “But he’s going to be in my territory for this one, so he’s going to have to wait in line a bit.” Only partly teasing, Summer had already arranged to have her news van prepared for the press conference before hand as well as for direct coverage of the event. Needless to say, she was certainly going to roll in deep.
