"Right, no bike. How about a cab instead?"
It had been ages since Barbara had seen Kara and seeing her now brought back mixed emotions. They had become instant friends the moment that had met but their escapades had proven difficult. Kara was a superb fighter and she could think on her feet which had come in handy more than once in their shared careers as Batgirl and Supergirl, but not all of their missions had ended on nice terms, not when there was Kryptonite involved.
Standing to give her friend a warm hug, Barbara left the tip on the table and headed for the cashier to pay the tab. The plastic taken, she then signed the receipt and took the card back, before she slid it back in the wallet she carried in a front pocket of her jeans, the one place a pick pocket would find difficult to reach, at least if one knew what was good for them. The lunch over, Barbara led the group out to the front street and then hailed a cab, knowing one would just love to take three young girls where ever they wished to go, as this driver - his smile widening - could attest.
"Gotham Botanical, driver, if you please..., and there's an extra twenty for you if you can get us there quickly - without breaking any laws of course."
Sliding into the back seat of the spacious cab, Barbara waited for the others to climb in after her. The botanical presentation promised to be a one of a kind display with some of the world's rarest flowers present under the one massive roof. Barbara had studied the listing of flowers and plants to be available to the public and it had not slipped her attention at the number of guards which would be present - in part to protect the visitors since there would be city dignitaries present, but also to protect the plants from over curious patrons of the arts as it were, a category Barbara knew she was a part of, even though she was far more timid, at least outside the mask.
"Well, ladies..., the plant world awaits. Let us be off. Heh, I've always liked that last part. As for buying samples of these plants Kory..., that is a good question."

Kara returned a gentle hug back to her friend. She knew enough of how to control her strength.
Follow the other two girl, Kara smiled at the chance to be with friends. The last time she had gone out had ended in disaster. Literally, some creature decided to crash the party and Supergirl had had to come and save the day.
Just the average life of a superhero. It was better than being under Kal's watchful eye.
"Barbara, let me return the favor for the cab fees. It would be my pleasure seeing as I am imposing a bit on your fun," Kara replied.
She figured it would cost them a bit more to have three go into this museum they were going to see. The last thing she wanted to do was let someone else treat her for just showing up the way she had. Sure she had been invited, but Kory and Barbara may have been planning this for some time.
As they had made it there, Kara followed Barbara's lead. After all she knew Gotham better than she did.
"So are these more tropical plants or ones scientist have crossed over to get new ones," Kara asked.
She still wasn't put to speed with the science and bio stuff. Though if she wanted to read a book about it, she could in seconds. But to her, science wasn't always a favorite subject of her's seeing as people always wanted to do research on the aliens that come to this world.

Public transport was a reasonably good choice. As Kory happily obliged with the fiery tamaranean nod, less likely to give the safety shtick as another would… Kory really wasn't one with the percentages on this one. Flight was the general way, but anyway with the inclusion of friends. Particularly with Kara and Barbara were always best ways to travel. Although a cab was unusual for her even back in New York. Usually flight or a walk. It shouldn't be surprising she quite enjoyed walking almost as much as flying. Generally due to company Kory was with or company she could meet… Left the warm buzzing cheesecake factory, with a rather delectable souvenir in one hand. With hugs and warmer greetings. Followed to the sidewalk outside, in the much beautiful sunlight, that streaked through the usually darkened city… Standing already with greater heights, the tamaranean happily breathed in the aroma of spring and summer, feeling the extra inches spring… If volleyball really was the aim later on, it really would be a blast. With possibilities of sunbathing. Soaking in more generating rays, but first it was indeed flower time… It seemed sweet and special that three very different females could possibly share a liking to flowers. It must be the colours. Maybe the pretty aromas. Maybe simply life… Or science… Either way seemed to all point to a joyous time. A joyous day, which Kory was always in need of, who wasn't? As her little golden toes in her sandals lured at the edge of the path. In efforts to call down a cab. Kory offered some assistance in a rather loud and direct whistle with her fingers. Not by anything super standards, she was no Kal nor part of the house of El, but well pieces of New York rubbed off on her. More or less after numerous times she saw friends even a certain wondrous man… Hmm, yes Nighty sense, just a tad… Slipping into the backseat with Barbara and Kara. Not minding at all in getting the middle seating. Cake of course gently balanced on her lap, with the protection of her hands. No starbolts, there probably be chocolate wasted if that happened not to mention destruction to the already rather wreck looking cab… It was rather disappointing. Why would one seriously not take the chance to put a little decorative touches? Kory openly thought as her green eyes looked about.
"This was a brilliant idea, Barbara… I'm always open to seeing new routes I've not seen or I may have over looked… Oh, you are not at all imposing Kara. You are very delightful company to have and enjoyment is really payment all in itself… Plus some time away from the excessive testosterone level!"
Happily Kory praised Barbara's choice in public transport, as naturally the driver would have his own sense of the city in probably a different way than her own, of course Kory had flown mostly in this city. Bird's eye view really gave you a spectrum, but more often than not it was focused on disaster or someone needing to be rescued, but had a rather decent view of the city. Mostly her time now was spent in Bludhaven and less time in Gotham, but Nightwing's aid could very much still extend to the city. Well, she was also a very handy teammate to have… Despite still having a strong place in the teen titans. In hopes to mentor the next best roster of titans. They were the future… Smiling happily as Kory looked out at the passing attractions, mostly keeping in eye contact of her girlfriends in the back seat… A sincere smile engulfed Kory's lips as she insured Kara was more than welcome. Kara's company was certainly adding to the fun of the day. Kory wasn't one to protest at offering of fees, there was no money. No price in the universe that could match that of friendship. In what ever shape or form. Of course Kory wouldn't mind paying, she probably prefer spending her money on friends than anything, but as Kory enlighten that the enjoyment was really the best payment. The smiles. The laughter. The joy… It was most exquisite when Kory could merely help to bring that out, it was really always there in glimpse of a friend's eyes. Although Kory was one in the way she would try to make the simplest situation as enjoyable as it could be. She certainly loved life… Although Kory couldn't avoid the mentioning the Outsiders or more pointedly referring to the 'boys'. As Kory lingered knowing eyes. It certainly wasn't new. The fighting or almost competing against one another was almost expect. Though from the recent news of it that had passed Kory's ears, she was still very much with the Titans at this time, but she wasn't gone long enough to hear the arguments had risen higher than usual… Though they seemed to settle enough when Kory did come home. Maybe she needed to be home more often… Ah, boys will be boys as a wise titan once said. Maybe that was more than one… To finally step back from the Titans was not going to be easy, but following her heart wasn't exactly hard either.
"I'd have to wonder what Earth would make of Zebron or even the plants on Karna."
Shortly after the cab had reached the desired destination. Which defiantly looked like a good flower world. With cake box safely still in Kory's hands, followed at foot with the Barbara and Kara. At Kara's questions risen, with of course Kory was also curious as to what or even whom maybe inside this show of mysterious and rare flowers. More fatherly casually Kory brought up. Mentioning Zebron and the planet Karna which she knew a little more intently given she was from the very same solar system. Kory was unaware if Kara had travelled to these places deep in space, but Kory knew very well in the knowledge the kryptonians had of the universe. Zebron with the plant like people. Karna with the carnivorous plants… Not that they were exactly a result of science, but certainly probably something humans would probably be keen to get their hands on. Not all humans were as such and nor was it merely humans alone… Kory was herself had experiments done upon her by the Psions. Thus her starbolts, although very much became to accept they were a part of her. Which they always were in a watt, as it was manifested from the very energy inside her, just projected. Rather than something completely foreign… In a world very much with the objective eyes towards the unknown and the so called strange, there are humans that do accept. That do not judge merely on looks or where one is from. Like all planets there are the good and the bad. Though more often than not. A friendship can spring when given the chance. Even in the most unlikely of circumstances. As the Tamaranean walked in zinc with the blonde kryptonian and the red headed human. All with individual marks of strong females coming together for the wondrous plants that awaited them.

"Imposing? Who's imposing? We both wanted you to be here, but if you wish to pay the cab fare be my guest. Though ogling you two on the part of the cabbie should be a deduction in my opinion."
Having slid into the cab last, Barbara couldn't help but notice the looks her two companions were getting. Even if the driver didn't know who they were, Kara and Kory were knock outs, their physical beauty surpassing her own by a country mile to say the least. It wasn't as if she were homely or even worse - plane - but when seated next to what some men viewed as "gods", Barbara knew she didn't stand a chance.
Then again, this can driver had given her looks, though as he moved his eyes back and forth from the other two girls to her then back to Kara and Kory, Barbara had the sense he was either comparing them or just wondering what in the hell she was doing with them. It wasn't as if she herself was not known in the city; heck her picture had been plastered in newspapers on more than one occasion, but the reason for Gordon to be with these two was the question on this cabbie's mind, a question Barbara hoped she could diffuse once she spoke up to announce their destination.
"We'd like to be taken to the Gotham Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, please. I promised my guests that I'd share the exhibit which is being hosted there today. As for what kinds of plants might be there, I have no real idea, but I've read they are mostly quite rare."
