Don's Bakery had just been through a tragic event. Four workers and a customer were shot dead two weeks ago. Harvey had been one of the first to receive the call to investigate and track down witnesses and solve the case. The case took priority over Harvey current cases. This was where he came every day for a small box of donuts and some licorice. Bakery's aren't known for their licorice, but every restaurant needs an object or an item to get ahead of the competition, and licorice is an exotic and interesting item to have. As it goes, Harvey had been at the scene immediately along with two other cops. The windows were destroyed and blood was everywhere. It was a big mess, and the fact that four of the nicest people in Gotham were killed made his stomach and his heart sink. He was a giant, a pissed off one, but he had a heart: a soft one albeit.
So today, the third Sunday after the incident, Don's has just re-opened. Re-opened but not fully healed. Harvey notices that and emulates that as his signature smile and tip of the hat to the owner Don is replaced with a simple closing of his eyes. He's drowsy, pissed, and hungry all at once: a usual but unhealthy mixture of emotions. The place is empty, for a Sunday at 9 Am this is unusual, but regarding the events everything changes... especially customers. So instead of staying inside and wallowing in doubt and fear, Harvey decides to order a small box of donuts ( the given item of the day) and a dark, rich black coffee. No milk or cream to sprinkle on it... no nothin'.
As Harvey sits outside he picks up a paper. The seat he's chosen is right next to Rhonda (his car). He nods after skimming in the paper and glances at her and says, "Ain't she beautiful?- She's a great car." Traffic begins to come and go as he continues reading the paper. Each paragraph that he devours, he eats a doughnut. Each one that he skips he sips his coffee. This exchange of word and meal goes on for about ten minutes. He sighs as he reads, but he puts the paper down and looks at Don's Bakery again, this time from the outside. Few people are working, he can't believe that a place so well organized and kept was shocked by such Gotham East violence. It's a pity... a damn pity.

Work had been picking up. So even as she had already scanned all the papers, the reports, and so on, all she had left was to see the actual scene. Don had always been kind to her. And he still had one of the best machines to make an espresso just how she liked it. So as she finished the last few sips of her own morning coffee, she scanned the building. She could see how a simple robbery could occur, and how something could have been fixed. So as she glances up, she notes a camera or two mounted. Hm.
Tossing her cup in the garbage, Selina moves to tie her hair back quick. She's no real anomally here this morning, just another woman looking for breakfast. Especialy considering she's just in jeans and a-tshirt tonight, a crossbody bag draped over her, and shifted to the back. Walking around the old brick building, she realizes she'll need a bit of help. And the sturdy man sitting and enjoying his breakfast will be the perfect help that she needs for now.
Walking over, she slips into the vacant seat across from him, smiling brightly. "Have a moment to help a gal out, sir?" She states warmly, her eyes twinkling. Sometimes a gal has to ask for a hand up...even if she's used to being a bit more aloof. This is one time she needs to ask for help, considering she's not exactly outfitted herself for climbing like she standardly would.

As Harvey begins finishing his donuts, a curvy women catches his eye. What is she doing here? Is she interested in me? Well!? She might be! After all, Harvey really hasn't had a girlfriend in some time. Unless you count Candy Baser or Felicia Howard. No they weren't strippters, but Candy definitely could have been. I guess that makes sense though... she was avoiding Bullock because her "clients" needed her. What a load of bullshit. He felt that the world was only made of a few pure, hard working souls like his foster parents; the rest of the world was garbage or a collection of problems. Harvey internally knew that he was a mixture of both. A delicate balance between chaos and order. A rageful and dangerous man upholding the law. Now that is as common as an Alcoholic becoming a bartender...
So when the women sits down in front of him he notices her but is quick to not stare at her curves. He is a man, not a body. Charms do work on him, but this is too early in the morning.. Don't ya think!? He sips some of his coffee, spilling some on his tie, he doesn't look down but responds with a crisp answer, "Sure Ma'am how can I help you". He doesn't stand up but remains alert. His intuition and skills as an officer of the law respond around him.
He is thinking of possible targets around and exit ways if this is a trap. You can never be sure. He turns his body around to check something and he notices... that there are a few cameras. He hadn't checked them. At the time they were malfunctioning... Maybe it was a lie to get the police out.. Damn he should have checked them. Don was a friend- an associate but no one can just slide past the law like that. Not on those terms.

Selina smiles at the man. He clearly reeks of off-duty police officer, from his grim observance of each and every passerby, to his guzzling of coffee and doughnut intake. Not her first choice, but hell, she has to make this all believable, otherwise she can't bill for it. Pointing over her right shoulder, Selina motions to the corner of the building, where a few cameras can be seen. "I just need a boost up to those cameras. I'll looking into the....incident that occurred a bit ago."
She offers him another smile, before waiting for his answer. If he gives her a yes, she's already scooting out of her seat and making her way back to the building. If not...well, she might have to find a legitimate ladder.

"Oh so you’re the one who installed those cameras. I had been checking out all the evidence to understand what happened. But those cameras would not bulge… the system even had a password on it. Even our equipment wasn't good enough...” It hard to know if he is in awe or not. The fact that evidence, good evidence of the killers , is locked up is not a good sign. The fact that the police couldn't crack the code... is even worse. “Sure I’ll help you, but before I do I want to know how exactly you know Don on a personal level.”
As a detective he had to investigate all possible leads. It’s slightly suspicious to Harvey that the maker of the cameras just happens to show up a few weeks after the crime. Why hadn't she done it earlier? Questions lingered in his mind again and again.

Selina peers at the man. "Actually, no. I didn't install the cameras. Don...Mr. Aikins...had the cameras installed after the second break in. So...he had contacted my company, considering I'm in here regularly for my espresso..." Turning back to him, she points to the cameras. "And yes, they're password protected. My company does Security. My ladder broke, so I was curious if you'd be able to give me a boost up to them." She offers her hand to the officer. "My name is Selina Kyle. I run Black Cat Security."
If he's that curious about why she's showing up now, he could ask. Instead, she offers her own curiosities,"You must be an off-duty officer. It's nice to know Gordon is having this place watched. It's a Gotham jewel, it really is. Oh. I might have forgotten to mention; born and bread Gothamite here. Even though if I did do a few years of school abroad, but I couldn't stay away for long." She beams at the giant of a man,her green eyes glittering warmly.

Harvey glintly smiles, though it is a half-smile not because he doesn’t care about the beautiful women, but because he isn’t used to smiling or being remotely interested in actually helping certain peoples. That may be a metal or a dumb thing to say or even to rationalize but Harvey doesn’t have a deep respect for the citizens of Gotham, he protects them, arrests them, investigates them, shoots them if need be, and even interrogates the hell out of them for hours on end. Doctors have patients, Harvey has crack and valium addicts to chase after, murder victims to trace, serial killers to hunt down, other cops to handle and his own issues to deal with. So when Selina inexplicably sensually asks for help, it’s a wake up call to Harvey.
She didn’t bully him or make fun of him, though at this point she can be deemed sincere enough atleast to be sure, on Harvey’s end, that she is a hardworking and straightforward person. What he doesn’t know is if she is trying to prove a point by bringing someone’s hopes up only to burn them down with one swift stroke.. . He responds to her statement by taking off his hat and wiping away the sweat that has formed there, “Off-duty- not exactly ma’am.. I’m enjoying myself because this is a hotspot for me, and I have the simple and elegant pleasure of knowing that I can have a good meal and not let it go to waste as I investigate the mindless zombies and flawed beings known as “Gothamites”-".

She nodded politely when he responded to her, and clearly noticed he was sizing her up. She had to crack a bright smile at how he described most of those inhabiting her town, as well, a delightful peal of laughter dropping from her lips as she heard his words. "Well, I would have to hope I'm not a mindless zombie as you put it, even though I will admit I'm flawed, and not perfect." Turning to the cameras again, angling her body toward them she pointed.
"There are just three, and if you could give me a boost, I could pull the info off them, and be on my way. If you have a card, or a number, I could always give you anything that I find suscpicous." She added, hoping he realized she wasasking for his number. It always helped to have eyes, real, human eyes on areas when she wasn't there.
Pursing her lips, she had to nod. "This is one of the few places that has amazing coffee, great breakfast, and prompt waitstaff. I hate to admit it, but I refuse to give references to quite a few of my collegues for that reason alone; I like to have it to myself! That is why I personally took this job on per diem, because of my attatchment to it. Those born here, become sentimental to the mom and pop plaecs, and personally, Don Aikins has ran one of the best bakeries that I know. It might a a hole in the wall, but it knows quality," she mused, curious to see what Harvey thought.

He was tickled and amused at her laughter. She seemed bright, sensitive and trustworthy, something that eluded the people of Gotham: Civilians or not, Criminals or not, Officers/Servants of the Law or not. Humor was something that was underneath that extra two layers of skin. He was big, he was convincing and bumbling and angry at most times, but once in a while he sure loved to crack a joke. Jokes ease things, they make the environment friendly In a way. Jokes are a lot like cleaning solution. They absolve the dust and rust that may form everywhere. Though that’s if you are laughing with the other people, not when the solution is sprayed in someone’s eyes. Harvey knew all to well about that, he had learned to fight back, to punch and kick and yell to intimidate others…. No solution or joke could stop that.
“Surely, no problem Ms. Kyle.” Harvey obnoxiously got out of his seat, as it fell down very hard and cracked a bit. He wanted to impress her and he wanted to be noticed. Intelligent beautiful women in Gotham in his experience are desperate or psychotic, Ms. Kyle seemed to be neither… He stiltedly walked to the edge of the roof, he was tall enough so that he could lift her onto the spot. He waited for her to say the words and he lifted her up with apparent ease. Though this was a work out in a way he was able to compensate for that. As he watched her get to the top, he begain getting out a card. It wasn’t a great card or a finely made one, it was just a simple one. One that had the words Harvey Bullock, Detective and Private Investigator. “Oh and here you go Ms. Kyle." He out the card on the edge of the roof, hoping that she would smile at him or at least make a gesture to.

He was larger than she had initially suspected. Either way, she was gaining an ally, and a bit of help. While she could've easily scaled to the roof herself, and with ease, it made good to ask for help. And from a man like Mr. Bullock; even better. Smiling as he stood, and walked to the corner where she had pointed, she noticed how dwarfed she was. And how lumbering he was. Swallowing before he gently picked her up, and allowed her to climb, she smirked, and gripped the roof, easily gaining what she needed from scanning the cameras, and resetting them to record again.
Pocketing the small device she had pulled the data off with, she looked down where the small slip of paper was, and crouched; kneeling would be stupid, and only serve to pitch her from the roof; and plucked it between forefinger and middle, and flipped it over. So he was a P.I. Even better! "Thank you, Detective. Your help here has allowed me to get deeper into this case, faster than I thought!" She exclaimed gleefully, re-positioning herself at the edge of the roof again. "Do you think you could lend a gal another hand, so I could get down?" From her vantage, she could've easily made the dismount, but that sort of thing wasn't...exactly a 'blend-into the crowd' move, now was it?

Harvey was beaming, this gal was just better than anyone he had ever met. Someone who made him feel great, he wondered if she had that effect on all people that she came into contact with. Harvey gently took her hand and helped her down, he was careful not to look at everything, but he couldn’t help but notice that she was reciprocating his feelings back at him. Would it be too early for a date? This was purely a favor, not an invitation to ask her out. Besides would she even be interested in a big oaf like him? Not many women had taken an interest in him for romantic reasons. He had dated women who were interested in money, fit men, and connections to other “elitists”.
Harvey wasn’t elite, nor was he special. He continued on with the business as usual, "I’ll make sure that one of my boys’ checks these cameras and the crime scene out. It was bad enough that the scene of the crime had to happen here- but it would be worse if someone continued to tamper the wound.” Before he could ask her out, his walkie-talkie rang, “Det. Bullock? Det. Bullock!? There has been a shootout at Weston and Third street, all available policeman in that area are ordered to secure the hostages.” It was the voice of Lt. Carl Freely a man that detested Bullock, but Bullock liked him, he was cool and steady and let Harvey bring in some beer and doughnuts when late to work. “Excuse me Ms. Kyle” He picked up the walkie talkie and clicked the receiver to talk, “This is Det. Bullock I read you and I am responding to the situation, over.” He gave Ms. Kyle a kiss on the cheek, “Thanks for helping Ms.” He wrote down his number, in a scratchy manner and handed it over. “Call me if you need to vent, drink ,eat or what not.” With that Harvey got into the car and drove off, at record speed.

She was curious to see what the footage would hold for her. The whole situation was fishy, but not planned, or 'unplanned' enough for those of the more themed variety. As Harvey helped her down, she smiled, tucking away the footage, and brushing her hands off on one another. She herself was about to ask him a question, to get to know him a bit more on his background when his walkie-talkie spoke before she did. As they both listened, she nodded, realizing her time was cut short with the detective.
"Take care, Detective. I have no doubt our paths will cross again. And while you don't have to send your men over, it would be nice, considering how much we both value this place for it's dining." She hadn't expected the kiss, but her cheeks pinkened delightfully. Now that was an intersting end to a morning. Taking the slip of paper, Selina glanced down at it, then to the man speeding off in the car, folding the paper carefully before tucking it away.
"Thank you as well, Detective." She murmured, curious as ever at the large police officer.
