Given that she just went off in a direction she didn't quite intend, Nina easily shrugs off Robin's angry words. She doesn't blame him for that anger - the only real difference between her opinion of Edward and his is the fact that she can see much more of him than his crimes. Yes, he's a terrible person, but he's also romantic, charming, fun, caring (if he likes you, at least), and his early life was pretty terrible - it's not hard to see why he believes many of the things that he does even if you don't agree with him. So while she understands where the boy is coming from, she's not nearly so quick to condemn Edward. Especially since, unlike him, she certainly never signed up to run around capturing criminals.
"What I meant is that if you know the answer, you might as well just give it to him. If you don't... I suggest 'cheating'," she replies. Of course, she can't say that without remembering her own experience - in the end she'd gotten out of that basement by playing the game Edward's way. Yet that had cost another woman her life... That she didn't know the woman hardly eases the ache on her mind - if only she had seen a different way out! But Edward had so carefully designed that situation so that one of them had to die. And while some might say that it would have been more 'heroic' for her to have allowed the other woman to live, Nina's reasons for sparing herself instead were unselfish. No, she doesn't consider that woman's death to be on her hands - Edward had pulled the trigger - but what still haunts her is the question of whether there had been another way she'd overlooked.
She can't help but smile when Tim comments about people saying things weren't their fault, but she doesn't respond. Hers is one of those cases where it actually isn't her fault, but she doesn't care if Tim doesn't believe her or not. If he wants to think that she did something to upset Luthor, that does her no harm at all. But it's indeed true that her association with Edward put her in a lot of danger though not, as most people probably assume, directly because of being around Edward. Well, except for that one time... but she kind of understands why that happened. No, the danger comes from people who hear of her connection to Edward and try to use it somehow.
She also smiles when he agrees to her terms for repayment. And she really does consider herself repaid if the boy simply gets back to work - she gets a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that not only will he live, he'll be able to pass that favor around to many others.
As for Shawty, she accepts his thanks with a shrug and says, "No problem." She didn't really do it for him, after all - she did it because she knew that Dr. Stenet would help him whether she helped too or not, and by getting involved she kept things extremely safe for Dr. Stenet while the situation was still unsure. And on a similar vein, Tim's strong statement about what he thinks is okay is matched by one of her own. "Sorry, but keeping this woman alive is kind of like my thing," she replies, suddenly dead serious. She doesn't care if he's present or not - if she thinks she needs to kill someone to protect her boss, she's doing it, and stop to think twice or consider his feelings about it.
"Okay - a few instructions before I let you go," Nina says now that she's officially finished, and hopefully to distract anyone from any thoughts of arguing about killing people, "In a day you need to remove the bandage, change the gauze, and put the bandage back on. And I don't want you doing anything strenuous with that shoulder joint for three days - if you do, you risk severe damage to your infraspinatus muscle; it needs a chance to heal. Once the wound has healed enough that you're not worried about it leaking, you can get rid of the gauze and bandage, but the strips need to stay until the wound is firmly closed or it can, and will, pull open again - it'll be safe to remove them in two weeks. Until then, avoid getting them wet - I suggest taking baths. And if you're going to wear something that will rub, like that armor, keep it covered. After that, the danger of the wound reopening will be over, but it may take as long as a month before you'll be back to full strength in that spot." She somewhat suspects that a lot of this may be familiar ground to him - his scars prove he's been hurt a few times - but she might as well be thorough in her explanation since she suspects these could easily be the only instructions he'll get.
