That answer causes her to laugh derisively before she comments, "Why not? Because what's the point of telling you anything when you've already made up your mind? When you're already prepared to destroy years of effort on my part without even knowing what's going on? When you're willing to ruin this uneasy little understanding we've managed to come to after all the... unpleasantness... over something so trivial?" Her tongue clicks in disapproval before she adds, "You've not changed a bit since we last saw each other, have you?"
Well, maybe what she did to him back then wasn't exactly trivial, but then again she's sure that his response to it had been well out of proportion even so. If you were to ask her, she still thinks that if there were an accounting of all the things that they've done to each other he would clearly be in her debt by a good measure, but she's willing to let the past stay there for the sake of peace. Though by coming in here and asking these prejudiced questions, she can only conclude that he's not willing to put it behind him and that has her reconsidering whether or not she should be so forgiving herself.
Though at least they're having a conversation now that hasn't turned into violence yet, so at least that's something. For her part, she keeps idly eating the pineapple as if purposely emphasizing the fact that she's remaining calm and certainly has no intentions of becoming an aggressor. "Met? Not that I know of - I've seen a few," she says with an uncaring shrug, "What this is 'about' is getting elected." He may not be willing to leave without something, but she's not exactly willing to tell him everything even at the apparent risk of having to endure his presence for longer as a direct result.
