The seedy bar seemed to be the perfect place. Dark. Damaged and depressing… With certainly the element of surprise. Just Roy being here was hardly the surprising factor. Sneaked out? He was a grown man, capable of finding his own way around, but of course managing it… Questionable how he actually got here, but Gotham was always the city. Spoken of, but Roy hadn't gotten to really ever see. A part from the occasional bumps as his hero persona. Never actually getting into the city. Now he was here on business, just not that kind of business. Or maybe part of him was… Looking for a fight… it least gave him something else to focus on and to feel something more. No… He had found an opening for the stage and naturally signalled a good gig for his band. When the moments arrived, you had to take it and though the bar wasn't without its rep. It was still known well enough, not that any bar didn't come with a hint of danger. It wasn't a great gig, just a few selections. Roy of course on mic and with guitar in hand… Rockstar! At least trying to be, but certainly looked the part. Still early in the evening. The sun had yet to fully set. So the bar was still limited of people, but it wasn't completely empty. Even so much as a pretty girl here and there, not entirely trashy either.
When break came. The energy and lights did heat up a little beads of sweat. That Roy rubbed with the back of his hand. Not a fancy attire. Jeans that were ripped, not factory ripped in his case. His boots. White t-shirt, showcasing the ink along each arm, but the rest was hidden over his shoulders and back. Basic Roy. He did bring and might add hid pretty crafty was his Arsenal suit. Along with weapons. Ready for a little bit later or sooner depending on what surprised came knocking at the bar…. So he was playing it safe… He promised, but it was step by step. One drink… It couldn't do too much harm, but relax him… Wasn't a strong beer, but Roy was basically making excuses. Little late now. As he took the frothy glass. He would probably regret it later… Rested against a bar table with his buddies. Sipping the beer casually between putting it down… Pulled a small pack from his pocket. Lit a cigarette. With a long puff and rested it between his fingers. Not greatly adding to the already smokey room, but did wave a little of the smoke away. It was a filthy filthy habit, one he was also cutting back on. In between the casual chatting and winding down after the gig. His eyes moving over to some ladies over at the dart board. Naturally he was gifted with aiming and shooting. Precision. Not lingering to long. Roy along with his buddies soon accompanied the pretty ladies.
"Hello ladies… Mind if we join?"
Who weren't so much talented, more just having fun. Roy was eager to join, whilst a little skill showing. With some initial charming words and some flirting of their own from his buddies to the other ladies. Roy particularly eyeing a cute little brunette. Pulled from of the darts that were in the board. Step back. Encouraged their anticipation. Putting his drink down upon the table close to him. Still with cigarette in hand and dart in the other. With little movement to get the flow. A little aiming with one eye and is a sharp sounding flash. The pointy end hit its mark. Dead in the centre. There was a sweet little cheer from the ladies, especially the one eyeing him with more attention. A little tipsy might add. With a couple more dart throws. Of course landing in centre overtime. One so breaking a dart already present. The pretty girl was a little more in the touchy space now. Feeling her arms around his neck at one moment. Defiantly flirting with him, that there was little he needed to do back. Unfortunately as he had to break it down to her. Which she defiantly seemed disappointed, he was maybe not free just yet. Not if he had yet to put on his red gear and do what it is he needed to do, but there was always time later. Casually Roy slipped her number in his jeans pocket. With another swig of his beer and a charming smile. Whilst his buddies took their turn with the darts. Not as successful, but it was only darts. Roy took on the darts himself again for a little bit. Night was probably a little more there now. He wasn't in a great hurry. The hero career was often just random and it wasn't as if Gotham didn't have its protectors already. Roy was well he was Arsenal. As few had proclaimed him to be. The exceptional marksman.

It almost seemed typical for him to be in a place like this. After all that had happened in the last few months, some of the team hadn't been the same. And Roy was one of them.
After all that was one of the reasons Kory had taken him in. To help him out until he got back on his feet. And at time someone was there wanted to trip him just to get some space. But the guy could be trouble if in the wrong city.
And when the gear was missing and the guy was out of town. There was a problem with that.
As it figures, Roy was living it up. Drinking, smoking, and showing off as usual. What would you expect? Though his fun might be up for the time being when a hand rests on his shoulder.
"Figures you'd still be here," a familiar voice said.
Once Roy's attention would be grab, he'd realize who it was. Dick had came all the way from Bludhaven to get Roy out of Gotham before he started patrolling the streets. The last thing Dick wanted to hear was the trouble Roy caused rather than stopping it in Gotham. Not with the Batman out on the streets.
Dick was dressed rather low key. An old pair of faded jeans, his boots, a grey t-shirt, and the leather jacket he wore when he took his bike out for a spin.
"Kory told me you had a gig here," Dick said. He glanced at the empty glasses on the table then back a Roy.
Dick was not as up to date on the full detail as to why Roy was staying besides that he need his 'family' and support. But from the looks of it, patrolling was going to be out of the question in Gotham.

Yet another bulls eye! As the surrounding ladies cheered between their tipsy slurs. Another sip on his beer… It was really one beer, least it was what Roy was telling himself. Not to mention light. He failed to really know what that meant, quitting just wasn't that easy. Cutting back, seemed more in sight. Waking up in a gutter was just getting too old. Not too mention the raging headaches and the many times spent in the bathroom. That was on the times he made it. Though his stomach was stronger than most. Putting the beer down, he puffed casually against his smoke. With his aim in place again, not that it took much effort now and just as Roy was letting it go. Then came a hand to his shoulder, derailing the path of his dart, but not far off. It certainly didn't help his game, though. Curiously frowned… Who in the…? Then Roy heard Dick's voice and he turned to face the dramatic drums. With a smile spread across his rather smug handsome face.
"What are you talking about? I was waiting for you….Hey Ladies, have you met my very good friend, Dick Grayson?. He's very flexible…"
Roy very sarcastically questioned him, only messing with him of course. Roy should have known Kory would have sent Mr Tightpants on his delicate tail. Unless, as Roy eyed him. He was in the need of getting out of the house. He needed to kick back, maybe? Though he was probably guessing at invisible straws. He peaked up, as the ladies swooned and asked up in regards to his new friend. Apparently he was handsome. With a gently hand upon two of the ladies' backs, Roy properly introduced them to Dick and removed his hands. As the ladies approached Dick in attempts to impress him, possibly. Roy winked in suggesting what he meant. He was an acrobatic in many ways, apparently. Which the ladies seemed pleasant to hear. Now dart free and Roy casually rested an arm against the table. Hand gently played the bottle and remarked amusingly as Dick noted the other empty bottles. Jumping to conclusions, it was hardly surprising. It wasn't like Roy wasn't trying, like he'd say that with a perfect face, but defiantly wasn't a lie either. As took a puff from his smoke and smiled with a heavy low laugh at the mention of Dick's girlfriend…
"We did… You're a bit late! As perusal!…"
Roy responded, in no way doubting the truth. As his dark eyes looked over his pal. In all the reasons Roy could gather, why he was here. He was still considered a buddy. Even though the boundaries were a little stretched at times, but no real harm had taken place. Yet. Roy raised his brow amusingly assuming Dick just arrive. He had sadly missed Roy and his band play. Gave him a smug look as if that was the reason Dick came, teased him no doubt. Roy knew he'd been 'caught', but he wasn't the type to simply put his tail between his legs. Roy hadn't made a big secret. It was just a thing to get used to again, others caring… A few weeks ago ending up in a ditch hardly raised an issue in his head, but after the pep talk. It certainly lit something underneath him… Enough for him to come here! Well, not the bar, that would be more than ironic.
"I'm ready, if you want to get out of here… Unless you wanted to hang out?"
With the last swig of his beer, Roy more patently serious looked to Dick, with a slight motion of his head to the Door. As Roy was assuming it was Dick's reasons for being here. Roy defiantly could do with some air, maybe not home just yet. He motioned for his own jacket, casually slipping his arms throw and a shake at the collar. Just needed his guitar. His eyes eyed the ladies. Not seemingly happy they maybe leaving and so much Roy smiled as his eyes fell from the lady closest to him. Almost pouting it was too cute and then looking to Dick. Maybe it was just an excuse. Wasn't there a point Dick said he wanted to 'live it up' and he only managed that for all of five minutes? Roy questioned. He could be wrong in his assumptions and Dick wanted to have more fun in the bar. Before business on the rooftops, of course. When was the last time hanging out, really hanging out, but they really didn't need a bar for that. Roy was all up for punching something… Possibly stabbing someone… Not randomly of course, although it generally seemed half the time with the thugs in the world. Left wondering why?

"Only a few places you'd be at this hour," Dick commented in response to Roy's question.
Then the bum turned the tables and tried to use the ladies as a distraction. Leave it to Roy to try and turn things into a party. All in good fun of course. Though there was a time for fun and games. And right now, Dick wasn't in much of that mind set. He had work to get done and soon.
As the ladies seemed interested by the short description of being Roy's friend and such, they were interested in several ways already. Though their acts of trying to impress him were failing miserably. He wouldn't admit it out loud at that time, but they were hot. Them being drunk what's the down fall for them. Making fools of themselves. And Dick wasn't know to take advantage as some might.
"A pleasure. And spoken for," Dick replied causally.
He looked to Roy as the ladies seemed disappointed by the news. But he wasn't about to screw things up between him and Kory. He had already done that one too many times with a few others. And it was all getting to be a rather tiresome road to travel.
Dick let Roy's other comment hang. There was no need for him to continue such a conversation over the work Roy did. In fact, Dick wasn't exactly sure what Roy was trying to do. Playing for a band paid, but what he trying to see if it would lead to anything. Well....there were several things it would. But career wise, difficult. And for Roy...really?
Their group was off to a small section of the bar, which would make it easier to slip away from the crowd that seemed to be following Roy and the band. Dick didn't need to look at a clock to know what time it was. He came all the way to Gotham to get Roy out of there. And he knew where Batman would patrol. And if they were to patrol they had a few hours before the Bat would run this area down for the night.
It was all a matter of thinking like Bruce. And that was something, sad to say, Dick could do at times. And it was a chance to bring down the crooks supplying Bludhaven with a few special forms of cargo from this town. At least one line that is.
"Grab your stuff and lets go," Dick replied.
He turned his back to the pouting faces, not one to play it out at the time like he could have. He was being the edgy icy man again. The leader that was focus on a mission. But he'd take Roy with him to keep an eye on him.
Heading for the door he knew Roy would catch up.

Party? This really wasn't what Roy had in mind. Despite whatever was running through Grayson's thick skull. A rinding down time before the late night action that would naturally follow… Which if of course however you wish to pin on… Generally it involved a lot of red. Sharp objects. Dangerous ones at that. As Roy of course though could enjoy however Dick climbed his way out of the girls giving him their full attention. One of which Roy knew Dick get himself out of, he had some faith. Loyalty… He was still a guy. As Roy motioned out of the way and more at the table with the last of his smoke. Not running away, but knowing there was close to being pulled by the ear action by mother if Roy didn't behave somewhat accordingly. Roy wasn't really in the mood for the conflict… Not here. In the midst of it all though, Roy knew Dick cared. He was the closed Roy had for a brother. So naturally digs were expected. Roy smirked in regards to the places he could be in. With the rolls of his dark eyes.
"I suppose there are a few places with my name on them…"
Casually Roy commented. If they weren't probably will. Only a matter of time. Although none of which were exactly bars in his mind… Least he was trying to avoid. It wasn't without its temptations, though. As one could tell tonight, but he told himself it was a light beer… He was fighting this the only way he really knew… Wasn't trying a start? The first step.. Though he knew he was avoiding what he needed to do. To go. There was the social side of drinking and then there was an emotional side. That often led to depression. Tonight was merely social. Mostly, but it was an excuse. Whether he'd admit or not or even knew it. Roy smirked as the girls mingled with Dick. Not smirking in a bad way, an amusement. Almost like the many days of going out on the town at parties. Surrounded by girls, but they were hardly teens anymore. Had either really grown up? Sipping the last of his beer as Dick passed on the girls. They were beautiful girls, but Dick's girl was very much a woman. More so. It hardly seemed a gift to easily give up. Especially knowing Dick felt somewhat how Roy had felt about Donna. Roy was impressed Dick said what he said. As if hitched. So casually… It was hard to know whether he believed it and if he wanted it just as badly… It was clear how badly Kory loved him… Suppose someone had too…
"He even has the scars to prove it…"
Roy responded to or added to. Either way Dick wanted to look at it. Take it. As Roy had stepped back way from the table. Beer. Drinks. Put out smoke. Though the smell in his clothes would linger. Even had he not smoked. That was what happened in these kinds of places. After slipping his jacket on and motioned closer to where Dick stood and motioned a casual arm around Dick's neck. Shoulders. As if adding to the impression he was defiantly a friend. Scars of course either real or from the invisible ball and chain. Although some nights, it was questionable and whom. Roy was better at not paying attention and putting it elsewhere… Even though that sounded weird. As Roy winked a little at the girls backing off a little, but not far. Giggling between themselves. Roy was charming after all. Even if Dick couldn't see it. Roy smiled and laughed silently… Surely Dick was light enough to see the amusement in this… He was always the more serious one. Not that Roy didn't love him to a degree. As Roy playfully motioned to lick his cheek. Which the girls thought was cute and funny. Dick maybe more pestered. As Roy then left the spot for a moment to collect his belongings. Mostly his guitar. Back now in its case. Along with his Arsenal gear… Weaponry. Though in really any sticky situation can make most things into a weapon. As Roy then turned. Dick of course was already heading for the exit… Really not wanting to be here… It was late, but given their line of work… Early hours. Swinging the case over his shoulder. Sitting on his back… After a genuine farewell to his band mates. Soon followed Dick's tail… Not of course before stopping by the bar. Part reason he came here in the first place and got the envelope. After a nice kiss to her cheek… Roy caught up with Dick… Fresh air. How lovely. Pulling out the cash in the envelope and threw the envelope in the nearby bin outside.
"Isn't this what you've always wanted to know? I'm worth $65! Not bad!"
Jokingly Roy asked Dick as motioned back alongside him outside. Which was not overly crowded, but a couple people out and about. Singular. Groups of sorts. Couples. Though more shady kind at this bar. The more sensible were across the street or down a bit, but in view. Cars. Lights. It certainly wasn't bare. Of course these were the brave that weren't safe in their homes. As safe as they could be. Though Roy held out his cash a little as he casually counted and then slipped in his pocket… It certainly wasn't something to bark at, but it certainly was a lot to him than it was to others… He was defiantly going to put it too good use… If not his weaponry, he'd think up something. Even just save… Hmmm, maybe a place. Though where he was, was quite comfortable… Dick certainly wanted Roy gone, but he wasn't so quick to leave Gotham. He was curious. Especially from hearing how many problems arise in one single night. It almost seemed it was missing something.
"Should I be surprised Kory sent you? When she told me to keep an eye on you… Though if you're here… I suppose Starfire's on duty in Bludhaven! Does this mean I have company in Gotham tonight? I do miss the team deal!"
Lightly Roy raised a brow, it wasn't a lie. That Kory had expressed some concerns about both men in her life. Or in her apartment. Especially given Donna's death and Dick being generally worried on top of. He was not easy to shake when he wanted to be left alone. As men sometimes do. It was hard to explain… Running a hair over his hair as he smiled enlighten in realising if Dick was here… Assuming that Starfire was in Bludhaven… It would explain why there hadn't been a cute orange hand at his shoulder before shortly pulling up and out of the bar. Reminding him of the AA meeting tomorrow night. Which Kory offered, but suggested Dick as she was here and there between New York. Though would come when she could, otherwise there at home… Curiously Roy asked if he had partner for tonight. He certainly wouldn't say no to a 'guys' night out. With the sounds of alarms and alert bells in different positions in the city… They certainly could hurt lending a hand.

Dick could see the amused smirk on Roy's face. What he was thinking, could be a few things. Dick should know him well enough seeing as they lived in the same tower for some time. You get to know your roommates.
And at this scene, Roy was just setting him up. Normally Dick wouldn't have passed up on the girls at times. Give them his number or the other way around. But with Kory, he didn't need anyone else. Besides it was unlikely anyone else could give him what Kory did. He knew she loved him and as he did her. Though commitment was something that slipped him. And he knew Kory was looking for a step forward.
"Better to have some than none," Dick replied in turn.
He would slightly turn the tables on the little comment. Though his was double sided a bit. Not that he was trying to start something. But that was how the two of them could be at times.
Letting Roy get close the way he did was fine, but he knew there was some other meaning. Roy may try to charm the ladies, but goofing around was apart of it. And the way he was having fun with this was a sign of more fooling around.
Then Roy was playfully tried to like his cheek. Right away, Dick's reaction was to push Roy away from him. "Dude," Dick said as he squirmed away from Roy's hold.
He would have been fine if Roy hadn't tried to pull a stunt like that. This would so Roy that Dick had his mind more set on getting started on patrolling or getting Roy back to Bludhaven.
Making a bee line for the door, Dick would meet up with him outside. Dick had work that needed to get done before he returned to Bludhaven. Though it was out of place being in Gotham. He wasn't sure if it would be needed at the time to patrol.
Once Roy joined him outside, Dick started walking toward the darkened alleys. He wanted to get away from the crowds. Out of sight of people nosing around.
"Depends on how often you'll be worth that," he said.
He kept on walking. If he was going to be stuck in Gotham for the night, a patrol wouldn't hurt anything. But for the vigilantes to come to view, the lives as civilians would have to disappear for a while.
"You're the one she wants someone to keep an eye on," Dick replied as he weaved into the alleys.
They were far enough to actually take on the vigilante persona's. All Roy's comment annoyed Dick to an extent for some reason. It was probably because of him wanting to get time alone. Dick tried to patrol on his own and would have one or the other with him at times.
"You shouldn't be out after having a few drinks. Think how your aim would be," Dick said jokingly.
Ok, so maybe he could be a little less uptight.

Dick Grayson was Roy's buddy. Why would he ever want to do harm to him. Set him up. With his arm casually around him. The chilling out days seemed all but gone, but they certainly weren't kids anymore. Even though Roy probably still needed some growing up to do. Half the time it felt Dick set himself up. Made him to easy of a target. Not that Roy couldn't be true with him. Get with some heart to heart, but messing around was just adding to their bro-code. He knew the relationship with Kory pretty well, Roy would have been surprised had Dick actually shown more interest in the girls… Not that Roy was at all testing him, but he'd sure might punch him out if he truly messed with the tamaranean princess. Not that she couldn't take care of herself. Had his ears pulled a couple times. Wow, what a turn around? Roy thought at Dick's little come back. If Roy hadn't of somewhat had it coming, he'd probably be more hindered… That was the thing with guys. Not drag things out, before scratching eyes out. Just come out with it.
"Ouch, man… Some of us just don't move on in a matter of seconds… She died!"
Roy expressed to Dick, with a genuine side of some hurt, not wounded. Placed a hand on his chest. He knew Dick was just hitting back, but he was touching a little close to home. In regards to Donna. Whom both were close with at a point Roy had been closer. Dated in the past on and off a couple times. When it was officially broken, mostly by Donna. Eventually Roy had moved on here and there, always continued to have feelings for Donna. When she died even though they hadn't dated in a while… It was just hard to really accept she was gone. Especially when at one point Roy had truly considered spending the rest of his life with her and making a family with. Sure he'd move on from this. His remark back was harsh and on some level Roy knew. He meant it as its not easy to move on from Donna's death, but as he said it, maybe the anger was uncalled for, not full on attack, but it was Donna Dick had hit Roy with, had he realised it or not. Besides in hind sight Roy and along with the Titans knew it was only a matter of time for Dick and Kory. Roy then looked a little wounded. In which one of the girls questioned what happened… Roy simply stated she died. As his eyes looked down. Least he could say that much, not as much as saying her name. The girl looked sad for him and extended kind gestures. Possibly a frown at Dick.
"You'd be surprised at how often I have that effect… You do it to yourself, Dick… He's not like this at home!"
Dryly Roy commented as he muffled back a snicker. A laugh. Dude! Who was he calling dude, he just made it too easy. Simple sometimes. Should note, Roy doesn't do it too many. Dick was special. As Roy grinned playfully with a wink. Of course his comment Dick could easily dig at of course many had pushed Roy away simply because he was too much. Though more often when he did pull back, they were pulling him back in. Surely not the case now. As Roy raised a curious brow at Dick, before Dick didn't wait much longer to dash for the door. Escape. Roy turning, simply stated to the company he was leaving behind. Suggesting maybe Dick was less grumpy… Was he being sarcastic? One would wonder how Kory dealt with it, but then he knew she took out walls and left Dick on buildings. Maybe Roy needed to string Dick up? No… Defiantly not the web he desired. Dick was almost too pretty. With the mild shake of his head. Roy had more than joined Dick outside. Some down time. Which of course wouldn't add up to much, before the pair were probably hanging and swinging from buildings.
"Aw, never knew you cared so much… You really think I'm worth more? Some of us just don't have a billionaire in our back pockets… How is things between you and Bruce?"
Roy eyed Dick amusingly. Shoving the rest of the notes in his pockets. Naturally Dick leaves you with a comment and walks off. As Roy caught up responding to him with his own sarcasm and playfully slung his arm around his buddy's shoulder. Only briefly now adding to his words. As Roy looked to Dick in regarding Roy's worth, given Dick's comment could be open to interpretation, although Roy could very much see it. He was just messing with him… Although when it came to wealth, Roy just didn't have the luxuries or options as Dick has had. It was too much of a dig than, Roy showing a bit of jealousy, because of course had Roy been in Dick's position he certainly would have taken it. Not really taken much into account of the surroundings. It had played out all too many times. It barely felt right until Roy was in his red gear and truly had a purpose. Something he'd very much lacked in the recent months, fighting at always seemed the harder one to knock… On the more serious note, because in the heart of it all Roy did care. He was not Kory, so he was not seeking any opening up, but he was a friend. Objective given he was not part of the Bat Family. He knew well enough of the history, although maybe more recently from Kory.
"Oh, yeah about that… I… She wanted me to ask you something… Though you sure, nothing is up… Kory said you've been more shifty than your normal shifty self… Is there any decoding to what she meant?"
That wasn't a lie. As Roy caught on what Dick said. Intendedly, naturally Dick would know, even though Roy hadn't exactly had a heart to heart with Dick. Would that be too much? Either way… Roy's hand came at the back of his neck a little, rubbing it. This really wasn't something he'd expect to ask and it wasn't exactly manly. To admit he needed help… As Roy paused. Trying to wrap words, that just didn't flow so easily. His eyes looked a little between Dick and where they were going now, nearly running into a post. Taking a wide gap as he mentioned he needed to ask Dick something… With a mild shake to his head, not that he so much intentionally changed the subject. As Roy half turned his head to Dick, because it wasn't out of no where that Kory had mentioned some concern… Although as much Dick worried about Everything a top of the world. Kory was often concerned about Dick or their relationship. She didn't have Donna to have the female insight and Raven was well Raven as cool as she was. Phrasing to some extent to what Kory had said. Roy expected despite earlier. He knew Donna's death took its toll on Dick as much as it did on Roy… Was that all it was? Unless Kory was referring to some bedroom mishap, it was really anyones guess.
"Yes, Mother. That doesn't take a lot of thinking. I'd always have something up my sleeve… Though you are right, Dick. Even though I said it was one, just one… It was one too many…"
Roy commented jokingly back at Dick, not that Dick didn't have a point, but with that sounding. He could be one step from holding his hand and by the sounds some of the people in the bar wouldn't of been surprised. Two men in tightly bound closes and hanging around late in the city. It is bound to raise some curious minds. With a laugh, before mentioning that aiming really didn't take a lot of thinking. Over thinking would generally have bad results. Commenting with an amusing grin that Dick wasn't the only crafty, they had a lot in common than just good looks and quality of suits. As they came further in the dark alley part of the City. The more dangerous part of this city, which was new to him. After turning a corner to an Alley that had a dead end with a wall, stopping short. As his eyes from the ground looked up. Admitting his own inner thoughts. That he had questioned it… Maybe not enough at the time. One wasn't a good enough excuse, Roy in the end knew that. As the last ride he really went…. It hadn't so much left his mind. He remembered… Most of it… He was out of it a lot… Was this too sentimental? As Roy looked from Dick to around at the darkened space. Shrugging a little, seemed a good of a place as any.
"Let's get naked!… Do you need help with your zip? You'd think we'd find a cooler way to do this by now... You know I always wondered what would happen if Clark was in a fire?"
Roy piped up suggesting they get suited up. Despite his use of words. Sad to say how often it happened. As Roy pulled his guitar free again from his back. Wandered a little further back in the space. Shadows and darkness. It offered some covering… Slipping his jacket off. Opening his guitar case open. Shifting his hand around before grabbing his red suit… Looked to Dick knowingly as he mentioned the zip, which he clearly revealing he knew about if Dick didn't already know. This was certainly too much liked the old old days. On the occasions they hadn't gotten dressed in the tower. Joking to Dick, that they should have a cooler way by now… Its not like they can use a phone booth, without looking completely beyond creepy. Not to mention give a lot away. As Roy pulled his t-shirt off. Revealing more of his tatted up chest and arms. Randomly with amusement as he questioned how Clark would cope in fire. Of course it wasn't Roy having a blonde moment, As Clark would be fine, but meaning because he wore the suit underneath… Was his clothes proofed so less chances of them being destroyed and people finding his secret… Not that something like it would happen often, but it does happen.

"That's not how I meant," Dick almost muttered.
He really hadn't meant to hit below the belt on that one. Or at least he hadn't realized it would be taken that way. Roy had opened himself up for that one though. And Dick could get a bit defensive.
Though between the two of them, Dick didn't mean to strike a sour note. He just shrugged off the girl's expression towards him. There was nothing he could do about it now. The words were out and the cards cast. Yet, Roy was right in assuming Dick's would get over something so quickly.
Donna's death had more of an effect on Dick than he was letting on to anyone. He was always known to be the one to mover stay in one place and never look back. But this was his act, not his mind.
And then after the goofing around bit. Dick just wanted to get away as soon as possible. Roy was treading on grounds he shouldn't. And Dick knew Roy was still upset over Donna. They all were. Roy playing the card like Dick was the monster for what he said had dropped his mood a bit at that time.
Hence the wanting to get away so quickly away from being the "bad-guy" in this turn of events with the sympathy card being played for Roy by everyone who had heard it. Normally he might not be this way, but Dick's mind was on getting his work done for the night. He didn't want to linger on the thoughts that haunted him.
So, he made a get away, shooting a glance at Roy. More of a 'hurry up or I'm leaving without you' look. And Dick would do that. He would start his work if others were holding him back.
Dick was outside yet for a bit before Roy joined him walking down the alley way. The comments light between them. Dick just needed a break from being surrounded.
"You know I don't take Bruce's money. He's doing his own things and I'm working on my own," Dick simply replied.
When it came to personal issues, Dick could clam up quite a bit. But most knew where the money came from for him. It was the money his parents had left for him and it had built interest over the years. And by the time he had turned 18, there had been enough for him to live off quite well for some time.
As for Bruce and him. That was another story. Something he didn't talk about. They had their issues from time to time. But as of late, it was at odds when it came down to laying it out. It all depended on how they played it out. One time it might be civil. And the next time, a huge argument that either sent Dick storming off or Bruce. Maybe it was just like how a father and son would act, the way Dick had left to be on his own.
As Roy had caught up, Dick did not pull away from his friend’s out stretched arm. Allowing the contact for now, he was being civil.
He could hear in the unfinished words that Roy knew exactly what he meant. Then he went and changed the subject. The way he getting fidgety and almost running into a post showed his distractions. There was clearly a concern from his friend as well as what Kory had asked him to say.
Why did everyone feel like it was their business to know what was going on with him? Dick sometimes felt like he was being watched under a spyglass. He knows how much Kory cares for him. But to send Roy after his case to find out?
”What shiftiness? I’ve only been busy with work. Someone’s got to help the Titans at times and someone has to protect my city,” Dick replied to Roy.
As far as helping the Titans that could mean either with missions or with the lose of their friend. Though, he wasn’t none for helping them out with missions lately or at all since he left on his own. This was after they lost Donna.
And when Dick was off burying himself in work, something was wrong. Unless he was working on a crime that was more personal. But that was unlikely at that time since Tim wasn’t back at Wayne Manor to deal with family issues.
”For you...thinking just might,” Dick commented as he continued down the alley.
Dick ignored any glances his way. Looking straight on as he walked. And by the time they made it to the end of the alley, Dick’s mind was already set on the work ahead for the night.
Venturing into the darkness, at Roy’s comment Dick raised and eyebrow and rolled his eyes slightly. Really, Roy never grew up at all.
And at the next, he sent a glare Roy’s way. He had found the photos and was not amused at the idea of a friend of his trying on his suit. That or the fact Kory had gone and told him of the zipper mishap.
”Some things never change...Just like your mentality,” Dick said smugly.
Dick slipped off his own jacket and shirt, dropping his bag to the ground. He got his suit out of the pack.
”Roy....He’s Superman. All he’d have to do is use one power or another and make up an excuse on the spot. Which he has gotten really good at,” Dick replied as they continued to get changed.

Maybe not intentionally, Roy pondered. Or simply didn't realise the slip of his tongue. Not Roy was really one Dick had to dance around. He certainly wouldn't encourage it. He was not always so high mighty as his persona can somehow project. He was the lethal weapon in more ways than one. Maybe that was part reason he could be his own destruction? He was maybe a little more taken by love than Dick. Lost more than won, but it wasn't from a lack of trying. As not even a glance at Dick and it was clear Roy's hits had more than made the target. Roy hadn't even greatly aimed… Sometimes too good for his own good. Almost as quickly as Dick had come in. He just as soon left. With Roy in toe. Shouldn't be surprised they'd end up in and around the alley ways. At Dick's serious tone. Or more cold tone. It was almost like Bruce echoing. As Roy playfully rolled his eyes and half bumped him in the shoulder. Defence mode. Although Roy did need to keep his mouth shut at times. He could admit that. Maybe not so openly.
"If I was in such a position, can't say I'd hesitate… But I suppose making a name for yourself is more redeeming… Isn't that what we set out to do in the first place! Not that I'm trying to sound sentimental, but somethings they will never understand."
Roy loosely stated, well mostly playing. Although honest that if given the option of such wealth, it probably be hard for him to pass up. Who would? Although anything even small seemed a lot for him. Having never lived near or around that kind of life. Just as taking the opportunity of the spare room at Kory's, a roof over his head. Not of course to mention he cared for his friends. But he be foolish to pass it up, to really only end up living on the streets. He wasn't knocking Dick at all for whatever he got from Bruce. Its not like Dick was much of a hoarder of wealth, he never stroked that way to Roy. He should know amount of times he'd put out his hand for him. Spoke more honestly and pointedly in regards to being more solo. There was a reason Roy was going by Arsenal more officially than Red Arrow. At some point one wanted to be their own hero. Their own man and not seen as a mere shadow. Nor a toy soldier. They were the present, the future. Just as the up and coming titans are. Raised a knowing brow as he meant the titans. They had all been in a stand still of some kind until they had come together and allowed the growth together. Acceptance more than anything. Was he missing it to a degree? Absolutely! Only a titan would ever know. Roy then spoke more casually about it as they fell within darker places. The hiding holes.
"Hmmm, well. That seems pretty straight forward… Going to point A to point B and so on. This whole distance thing you do, I suggested target practice… You wouldn't be shifting anymore, but she made a point of threatening me… I think I forgot how violent she can be… Is it wrong I found it kinda sexy?"
Casually Roy commented from the list Dick had given. Of course that pretty filled his day apart from sleeping, Roy would assume if he knew him well enough. Strictly in a business kind of mood, by the sounds. Hardly new, but a little more robotic. Even Cyborg was more in touch. Not the Roy was really sure he was one that could really give Dick a little heart to heart. Though from what Kory had made it sound. He was just more distant than he usually can be as Roy had joked about the target practise that he had suggested and laughed lowly. Not so much arrows, than pins, see if he really was distant, because at the same time. He seemed on edge if one dreaded to carefully. If Roy stuck him in the wrong spot, he might turn around and claw his eyes out. Although shortly after Kory had more than left her mark. Questioning lightly as he gave Dick a little understanding look, that he might like the danger. Least Roy had dodged what Kory had really wanted Roy to ask. How Dick was had merely been through passing conversation. She hadn't asked him to saying anything to Dick in regards nor had she stopped him. At Dick's simple comment Roy just laughed. Lose of words, or more than fact he was just as guilty for doing stupid things. Eventually through the darkened maze through alley ways. Dull street lights. That almost seemed to finished as they turned into a dead end of sorts. Or dressing room for heroes. It wasn't always glamourous.
"Aw, you always flatter me…It's hard to change a genius mind… Maybe I could repay you by dangling you from a light post, help you to lighten up!"
Roy gestured withe Dick mostly humorously. Least Dick still had most of his wits. As Roy played a hand to his chest at the notion he took Dick's words as flattering. With a grin as he mentioned his genius mind. Not that Roy was trying to gloat. Whether he was that genius or just sharp… Pestered Dick lightly as he joked. Well somewhat of a comeback. Returning a not so much smug look than a teasing one, unlike Kory's teasing looks of course. Of course he had the ability to and if he had would possibly leave Dick tangled up… With someone as crafty, eventually get out. Eventually. Roy laughed under his breath.
"I still think its too risky… The only one I think would work, would be someone like Kyle… Maybe we need to hook us up with something magical… Or would it be more like sailor moon for us? I kind of imagined Kory's would be like that. Can't say I ever paid attention."
Mostly he was just talking casually and probably mostly nonsense. Just having conversation. Though it was still not the epic way of getting into a persona. Green Lantern as Roy mentioned. The whole appearing when in need with a ring and so forth, seemed a little neater. Neither beneath and didn't need to carry, well apart from the ring and the suppose lantern. No way probably in them setting something anywhere near up as Roy rambled on. Now pants-less as well as shirtless. Before pulling on his red gear. Trousers to start with. Red tank, cut V. Belt in place. Boots. Weaponry. Hair. Cap. Until the final touches with his gloves, laced down the length of the underside of his arm. Bow of course

Dick left the other parts of conversation slide. He had no need to answer back to them. When it came to work, he could avoid anything. Not that he was stone cold. Just focused.
Nightwing was know to be the most talkative of the Bat-family. He couldn't resist from the banter between his teams and his opponents. That's what made his job fun at times. Though he took the work seriously. He had learned long ago the hard way of losing his focus.
"You wouldn't be able to pull that one off in a hundred years," Dick replied.
Dick was a master escape artist, And Roy knew that. When ever they had been in a bind. With the years of training it was a given.
Roy would have to get up pretty early to pull anything off against Dick. He wouldn't go down without a fight. Which would provide the first challenge.
Following Roy's lead, it was easy to pull a quick change at least for Dick. He had several different suits and came prepared. Though this suit was slightly different from the one Roy was teasing him over.
He already had the lower half if his suit on since he knew he was off schedule with having to be in Gotham and finding Roy. It was a matter of slipping on his boots and the upper part of his suit. Removing the familiar marked suit upper part of the suit from his back, it wasn't long before Dick had everything on to the blue stripped gloves.
Stashing the backpack to the side near a bike in the alley, hidden away, he places the eye mask to conceal his identity. Nightwing was ready for a nights work. Though the company and the town wasn't exactly his plan for the night until evening had taken in.
"Can't say you ever had the attention to notice the details," Dick replied.
Pulling out his grappling line, he took no notice to Roy's actions. "Come on, there's work that needs done," he said as the line was shot. No sooner was he being pulled up to the rooftops.

Emotionless? Was that even much of a question. Statement. As Roy trailed alongside his pal. Mate. Friend. Some he had butt heads with on more than one occasion… Generally all in good fun. Though now… This was not so much different… Than it was more. Like if Roy was to start poking him, he might just flip too many switches. Pondering, maybe that would help. With whatever Dick had stuck… With of course a tender smile… It was hard for everyone, not just Dick. Somewhere, Dick knew this. He had too. He worried about everything. Just not himself or the mere fact, he might drag everyone along with him… Well, least Roy able to hit something. As Dick still seemed to convey. The attitude.
"No. I learnt not to piss off the princess… She's been dragged through enough…"
There was a joke involved, but very much Roy unleashing the serious side. He could be just as serious as Dick at any given time, generally always more charming. Roy was sure if he were to really tangle Dick up. Leave him, it take him longer than he expected to get free. Though, there was the complication as Roy mentioned. Alluded to. The statement could include many things, but somehow Roy didn't think it needed to be extended upon. His eyes rested upon Dick now dressing in the black and blue. Whilst Roy dressed in the infamous red attire. Really, Gotham needed to be shaking in their darkened boots. Pants pointedly zipped. Top part covered, but exposure of the arms. Muscles. Tats. He was the lethal weapon. His own disguise in place. Cap. Eye mask. One time Mysterious really could pay off.
"Maybe, but I'm not running from them anymore… I get this routine pal!"
Was that really much of an answer to what was the subject at hand… Potentially, not. Confession, of sorts. He was not where near, picking himself up from anything that was still trying to drag him down, but Roy was trying… He was here. Least he could say he was somewhere. His eyes pointedly upon Dick. There was that common ground… They had both been there. There was guilty hitting in places, in each of them. More than just them, but it was there. Turning after the pause, to somewhat express that understanding. Even so much as offering a hand on his shoulder. Though of course. Dick was looking for the escape. Really? Did Roy need his ass, helping him tonight? With an inhale, at some point… Of course. Who needed who more? Eyes stretched up to the building in the such direction. Pulling out a red crossbow. It unfolded as such in his grasp as if, it had been a faithful old friend. Pointed it. Pressed the button to release arrow, with cord… Only it didn't budge.. Shaking it a few times, cursing not so under his breath… Still little use. He really was due to some upgrades. Until finally after some countless tries, it shot up… It was just shear dumb luck, it was aimed well enough. As he was pulled up, to the buildings roof tops. Jolted near the end. That he quickly. Took leap on the building. Coming to a sit at the top. As his hand ran over his hair after lifting his cap, before placing it back.
"We may need to make a pit stop, some time tonight… Unless, you are too high in your in morals? Though I suppose, I can do for a bit… Where's the hot spot?"
Now, officially Arsenal… He was defiantly more impressive than those last few moments suggested. As he suggested they needed to hit one of the factories… He was sure he was aware of a Queen Industries factory nearby… Though, even as he formed the suggestion, stealing was maybe dreading Dick pretty thinly. Some just don't have the resources… Or the family as Nightwing had… Not one to seem complaining… He did have more weapon stock with him. Even so much as pulling out a knife, maybe even a gun. He wasn't just about the arrows these days. One learnt not to be so picky and well, he was a master marksman. Good with his hands. Coming back to his feet. His eyes scanned the gloomy new city. Naturally just running into danger was, defiantly one way to go. Of course, Nightwing being the lady.. Arsenal asked. Already scouting for danger… Alley ways… He certainly was up for some physical calamities. Cracking his knuckles, ever so slightly.
