Selina laughed at that, turning her body to face the woman, acknowledging her want for space. Sporadic gestures of familiarity were ok, but not sustained ones. A good thing to note for later. As she wryly smiled at Ivy, she had to raise a brow. "Well, that depends on what your idea of 'fun' is, exactly. It's not always fun. When I'm holding some nice piece of jewelry, and he says that stealing is illegal, and I'm all and.... and no frisking. He's a stickler for rules at times, and that's just no fun. Nor is Nightwing, to be honest." A lilting, near mocking laugh escapes her lips as she clearly affirms some of her friend's gossip.
As Pam shifts to discuss the travesty of someone utterly destroying her hard-earned research and work, she nods silently. She was never one to do that sort of work, but she still understands it's utmost importance. "...are...do you need someone to check in on them? I could help. I'd need instructions. Your research seems quite a labor of love." She holds her breath while Pam, er, Ivy collects herself, Selina busying herself with dusting bits of imaginary dust from her sleeve. When the redhead finally speaks once more, Selina smirks. "Him? Pushy? Well... I do know of a few other avenues that you could travel if you need things you don't have enough of." Yes, she's offering to help the woman. If need be, they could be a formidable pair, if the little song and dance with the security guards was anything.

Actually, Poison Ivy isn't overly fond of even brief contact, though at least in that case the good sentiments such touches are supposed to indicate at least ease some of the discomfort of them. But really, she just plain doesn't like being touched and wishes that it was possible to both be polite and refuse it outright, but it isn't. That she's willing to tolerate it in spite of her preferences is, of course, a sign of her rather excellent breeding and proves that she's better than anyone who doesn't.
In fact, once she's shifted herself she thinks nothing of it and instead is fully paying attention to Selina's comments on her relationship with the Bat. Though her expression is dubious the entire time, and clouds somewhat the moment Nightwing is mentioned. "I don't see any reason why either of them should be around," she comments with a scoff, "Who are they to decide what a lady should and should not do?" Then again, she feels that way about all of society, including the government and any other person or entity that attempts to stop her from doing anything she thinks is necessary. It isn't as if she ever does anything wrong.
No, the only thing she feels at all guilty about is the fate of her plants thanks to her capture. Perhaps if she'd fought better, she could have gotten away? She should have been more thorough in her preparations - better anticipated what she'd be facing. Being here is punishment for her lack of foresight. At Selina's offer, she flashes her friend a grateful look, but sighs, "Thank you, but I doubt that you could do it Selina. There are so many of them - each with different needs. So many of them are fragile... others are dangerous if you don't know them... and their location is a secret..." She shakes her head - no, though she considers Selina to be a friend, she's not prepared to tell her where she was hiding. Especially not after confirming that she fraternizes with the Bat - she won't ostracize the woman for that, but her trust has some definite limits. Very quietly, as if talking to herself, she adds, "But they'll grow back - we always grow back..." Bigger, better, stronger, smarter - always.
Especially if Oswald continues to be such a good business partner. Which is why Selina's smirk is matched by one of her own as she comments, "Oh, I know that there are others, but frankly I've yet to find anyone better. And I'm sure that once the man learns that threatening me doesn't work and neither does attempting to follow my car, we will no longer have any problems." Though based on the relaxed way she says it, as bad as both of those sound she isn't particularly bothered by either.

"Bingo, Ivy. That is one reason that I play with them, toy with both of them. It's neither of their business what I do with my time, especially after dark. If I want to take a few items, that's my business, not theirs." Selina agrees, her eyes glittering with recognition. Finally, another woman that just -gets- it. Not only a woman, but a fellow rogue. Thinking on that concept, she does have to agree while neither Batman, or Nightwing needs to give a shit about what she does, it is a bit fun to play with both of the men. Batman, moreso, but Nightwing, especially when he was Robin, had some of the most delightfully embarrassing responses when she'd snap her whip at, or even near him.
"You're right, Ivy. You do a sort of work that I don't think...even with years of study, I could comprehend. I can only hope that your work doesn't go entirely ruined. Your dedication, and devotion to your plants, and your lair location, is amazing. I wish some of the others had such a concise plan for their organizations." Nodding, she watches the woman, just curious if she's going to veer to an unexpected left, and head into Joker territory. And if she continues on the path she's currently on, all the better. For herself, and Selina. Laughing at the compassion of Ozzie, she nods. The man, when he's been intimidating or not, has usually been a joke to Selina. And at least Ivy is learning to stand up to the bird. He's not that bad, it's just you can't exactly let him push you around. He likes to make a profit, by hook or by crook.

Oh, Poison Ivy is glad to agree that no man in a costume has any right to get in her way, and to a lesser extent Selina's. After all, she's quite certain that everything she does is perfectly justified. Then again, Selina is probably as of yet unaware just how liberal Poison Ivy can be when deciding that this or that man is a big enough problem that he needs to be taken care of permanently. Including the Bat and his lackeys, though thus far actually being able to do that has proved to be impossible.
Then again, it's a waste of time to get too personally upset about how Poison Ivy views any one person. She feels the same way about the vast majority of humanity, after all - her problem is that she simply does not care about people and sees no reason why she should. There are exceptions, such as Selina and Harley, but they're the ones who are different to her. She nods as the other woman agrees with her about the Bat family, though she still sees no reason why it would be fun to 'play' with them. She'd rather avoid them if possible, because no matter what they cause problems and when it didn't go well is exactly how she ended up in this room.
"No, not ruined," she replies, "This isn't the first time that I've lost my garden... At least this time I won't have to relocate as well." Not that her current hideout is very nice at all - it's a dump, really, but it has everything she needs for her work already gathered so it will be much easier to get it all going again than it was the last time. Not that losing a garden is easy for her, no matter the circumstances. So many precious babies... "And I only do what makes sense, Selina. A little organization can solve a multitude of problems before they begin. But it's no surprise to me when the others fail to take basic steps - most of them are idiots," she adds somewhat arrogantly.
Will she veer into the so-called 'Joker' territory? You'd better believe it! But at other times she'll veer back, and sometimes she'll run off in her own unique direction - she's as changeable as the seasons sometimes when it comes to her moods. And somewhat unpredictable in that way, though there are some constants. Of course, Selina will learn all of this if she continues to associate with her.

Selina thinks for a moment on what Ivy is saying. Things truly can be regrown, this is a fact. Enough love and attention, and most things DO thrive. Especially when there is a decent source of light. And even though she may not exactly disagree with her on the whole 'Bat-family' issue, she's not going to fight that, considering she's talking with a woman who is clearly capable of channeling her hate for the men in a very physical way, and well, she's more connected to the dreaded 'family' of Gotham, than she's like to admit.
"Well, Ivy, if there is any way I can be on the look out for a bit of prime real estate for you, with certain specifics, please let me know. It could be ready for you when your stay here is done, no doubt at your choosing." Before the redhead can object, Selina holds up a hand. "Consider it a 'Welcome Home' gift from a friend. I'm guessing you and I will have to meet up a few more times so I'm able to get the decor, and furnishings correct, but it's an investment, as a friend, and a fellow collegue, that I'm more than willing to do, and want to do." There is a feeling to this that she has to do this, and that this sort of self-lessness will be greatly beneficial to her, and Ivy when the chance arises. And when Ivy mentions organization, and morons, she's all over that.
Smirking again, she thinks while she's not the -most- organized out there, she is thoughtful, and thorough, considering she has to reverse-engineer most of her heists. And one of the key parts or organization is having an actual location to do so. "Oh, honey, don't get me started on all the 'good' ideas the others have, and how horribly...bad they go. There are just...ideas, and then there are plans. They are in different leagues entirely." She adds, with air-quotes around certain words.

At first Poison Ivy does look like she's going to object to the offer, but while hearing Selina out, her expression softens into a smile. Somewhere along the line she got used to every offer of help being secretly couched in some sort of scheme against her, whether large or small. So it takes her a moment to realize that Selina is actually just doing it to be nice. Or at least, that's actually a part of the reason - Poison Ivy still wouldn't put it past her friend to have an agenda on top of the nice gesture. It's what she would do, after all.
"Well, I don't see the sense in abandoning my current place while it remains undiscovered - the FBI didn't find it, the police haven't found it, and neither has the Bats," she smirks at that, "It's not a nice place, but clearly it has it where it counts." Given how much time and effort it takes for her to set up a laboratory, let alone the logistical nightmare that moving her plants would be - especially quickly - secrecy is the number one concern for Poison Ivy when she's choosing where to live. "Still, I will keep you in mind if I need anything - I'm not completely certain of my plans for when I leave here. Perhaps a second place would be useful..." she adds thoughtfully. So she'll not be immediately taking Selina up on that kind of an offer, but she's not going to close the door on it either.
Though she can't help laugh, leaning back slightly in her ease, as Selina agrees so much about the stupidity of the others. "Oh, I know, darling - I may not have been in the business for long, but I've seen them fail often enough. And when I compare that to my own plans... Well, those I shouldn't talk about," she comments with a smirk. Because she has plans - so many plans... In fact being here is an interruption to one of her plans.

There really is no agenda. Not a malicious one. Selina wants to see another sane, or somewhat sane woman who had the criminal mindset start off on a good foot. No, a better foot, considering Ivy's location at the point. A place in prison is not where she wants someone she considers a friend.
Poo-poo'ing Ivy's words with a motion of her hand, Selina responds,"Oh hon! I'd never ask you to abandon that. This is just an addition. And keep me in mind, if, and when you need something. I have the resources, and trust me, I don't just offer them to anyone. So many people are just....ungrateful. They don't understand the resources, or how to utilize them. I not only admire your fashion sense, but your mental, and criminal prowess." She pauses, smoothing down her skirt.
"And no rush on what plans you do, or haven't thought of yet when you get out of this ...shithole." Yes, she'd called it that. Arkham was actually a decent place, much better than others, but still, a prison.
Winking at the other woman, Selina relaxes in her position, showing interest. "It's not always longevity in this gig. Some....of them burn hot and bright, and burn out quickly. Others have been around long, but are dull. It's more often a combination of brains....and cunning. But you already know that. The more you observe, and know, the further you get."

The smirk on Poison Ivy's face only grows as Selina hands out compliments. She does think that she's amazing and is therefore quick to agree with and enjoy any good word spoken about her. Unlike some, however, she doesn't get too upset if anyone says the opposite - she's confident enough in her own excellence that she reacts to that by simply telling herself that anyone who would say any such thing must be an idiot and not worth listening to. Those who do say nice things are simply stating the obvious - not that their obviousness makes her any less interested in hearing it.
"Hmm, time is something I have in abundance here," she says reflectively, "I may as well use that time to think deeply and well - The moment I leave here I'm back in the game and will have less time to ponder. I've already come up with several brilliant ideas of things that I could do differently, but not enough I think. I underestimated those who would stop me last time and I can't be having that again." She shakes her head, as if to add emphasis to that last statement.
"And what have you been up to, Selina? I'm sure that you've managed to find ways of keeping yourself busy - has anything interesting happened on the outside?" she asks, frowning slightly as she adds, "It's so easy to learn anything you could want to know about anyone in here, but the best you can do to keep up with anyone else is to watch the news, and you know how minimal that is..." One thing she definitely misses about her freedom is the ability to go to the back rooms in the Iceberg and catch up on the latest rumors. You can learn so many things there that the general public never finds out about.

Selina mirrors the frown, almost embarrassed. To be honest? She hasn't heard a whole lot of anything. No gossip, no tidbits of anything really. No seeds of doubt, no seeds of conspiracy. Shaking her head, she offers up her hands in resignation.
"Nothing is boiling, that I've heard of. And that's something to say, considering not even a squeak has crossed my ears. And I'm usually sought out for feedback," Selina adds. "Oddly, it has been quiet on the crime front. I just...something will be happening, or, it may just be the lull considering the FBI take-over." Selina thinks for a moment, her eyes sliding shut.
"And that is good, you've learned. Always have a few backup, rotating plans, is what I say. Not just one way out; but several." Those green eyes are opened once more, and Selina wrinkles her nose. "Working. Actual, legitimate work as of late. Not a whole lot of fun, trust me. It's a bit of a nice change, I will admit. No dodging shadows, no always looking over my shoulder. But you need to get out of here, and soon. I have a feeling something big needs to occur, and you'd be fantastic in it."

That answer actually causes Poison Ivy to give a small laugh. "Figures that the second they lock me up in here everything would get boring," she comments, or at least that's how she chooses to view it. "You'd think that they'd be out painting the town red now that the FBI is gone, but perhaps they're still scared and hiding in their little holes," she adds, rolling her eyes and shaking her head dismissively at the other rogues. Clearly she'd been bolder, or she wouldn't have ended up in here. Perhaps that would also explain some of her bad luck with Nightwing? It was most unfortunate that he'd had the attention to pay to her that night rather than being distracted by another rogue.
She nods firmly as Selina comments on the need for multiple plans. That's something she knows well, and in fact when she'd been caught she'd been in the process of setting up more plans to use to defend herself from the vigilantes. If Nightwing had given her only another week, then perhaps her arsenal would have been improved enough to ensure her victory. But he'd found her before she was ready to be found. Even so, she sees the need to do even better than what she'd been planning - his many gadgets had caught her by surprise, and she knows that Batman's would be even better. And as much as Nightwing has become a particular thorn in her side, it's not him that she must ultimately surpass. No, the only way she can ensure the safety of herself and her babies is to be able to stand against Batman and win. So she has some work ahead of her.
As Selina mentions her work, Poison Ivy can't help but give a slight smile at the idea. It paints such a pretty picture, imagining the woman in front of her doing her tedious everyday tasks. Then again, she supposes that she could count her lab work as being similar - so much time spent in deep, uninteresting thought so that later she may do something actually interesting. The smile immediately becomes full the moment that Selina says that she should get out soon. "Oh, believe me darling, if I thought it wise I'd have left here yesterday. But no - rushing things will only lead me to another disaster. But in due time, I'll leave," she says with a smirk, "And trust me, when I do it will be spectacular!" Or at least, for her it will be. She doesn't much care how anyone else will see it.

"Well, after your tv appearance, of course no one could live up to your chuzpah!" Selina laughed. Ivy had balls, that was for sure. "So now everyone is hiding away, hoping to be able to out-do you, and get all the media attention. If anything, you've upset the Riddler...and you know how he likes to hog all the spotlight. So..maybe a puzzle or two will be in Gotham's future. Not as pretty as a live, growing plant, but who knows. And while I may not agree one hundred perecent with you, I do agree on the fact that there are way too many mouth-breathers here in our city. Way, too many." With a mildly smug look on her face, Selina hoped that her words went over well with the other woman.
"And you know, the capes and vigilantes have too much time on their hands. The FBI blokes seemed to sweep nearly everyone into Arkham, or Blackgate, sadly. I should get out there sooner, rather than later. And if there is anything, and I mean it, that you need before you make your spectacular escape, you let me know. I'll be sure to help you out." Selina once more offered the woman a series of air kisses over each shoulder, standing to signal she was about to leave. "Because we'll have to grab lunch, or even dinner, to celebrate." Her green eyes twinkled at the redhead, in anticipation of her self-avowed freedom.

Though Poison Ivy knows that Selina must surely be exaggerating the situation, she can't help but laugh at the picture that she's painting. "Well, you know what they say - go large or go home," she says with a smirk, reflecting on that particular little scheme of hers. Yes, she has to admit that one was pretty spectacular. It certainly got the FBI's attention! And Batman's, but that was going to be inevitable eventually.
"Perhaps if I wait here long enough, the vigilantes will all get lazy and fat," she jokes with another smirk - oh, if only! "And of course, I'll let you know - they allow me to send and receive letters. But you've already made such a good start," she comments, with a sweeping gesture at the gifts, "You are already a lifesaver, darling."
After returning the air kisses, Poison Ivy takes the basket out of her lap and stands herself, commenting, "I intend to be a very busy girl when I leave, but I'm sure that I'll find a way to fit celebrating into my schedule. Especially with such pleasant company." And she really does mean that too! She had a lot of 'friends' before she was first caught, all a much better class of person than anyone she's met since, but afterward they no longer wished to associate with her. All except for Selina, perhaps because of their... similarities. The other woman's company is therefore very enjoyable.
She steps over to the window at the front of her cell and knocks on it to get John's attention. He's back and ready to let Selina out within moments - while there are certain snags in the system, like Steve, Poison Ivy has enough influence over the staff members she associates with most that they at times resemble servants to her. Which does only so much to make this place more tolerable, but it certainly helps.
"Thank you for visiting me, Selina - this is not a pleasant place to be, especially if you don't have to be here, so I appreciate that you came," she says with a smile as she steps back away from the window to once again put some space between herself and the door - she has a reputation as a compliant and pleasant patient to uphold, after all. It comes with huge benefits, like guards who are easily convinced that it's no big deal to just let a visitor into her cell.

"The best way to go, always!" Selina echoes back, laughing lightly. "I doubt they'll let themselves go, after all, Ivy, you are better to look at, and no doubt engage than some of the others. Men, even." With a devious smirk, Selina starts toward the cell door, turning at the last minute for one last question. "Oh! I forgot! What is your favorite plant? Potted, of course. Or flower." She ruminates over the proper terminology for a moment, waving it off easily. It's the thought that counts, no doubt. "And I will write, no worries! And I know quality, when I see it, hon. Expect more, when you need it. Or don't."
Before John can fully come and release her, Selina has the door nudged open with the ball of her foot. A fingertip quickly grasps the small piece of plastic she'd used to wedge the door open; even while it still was registering closed. Not one of her more 'high-tech' tricks, but one that would easily enough fool the cameras, and show off a bit of her skill to her new 'friend.' Feigning shock as John pulls the rest of the door open, she has to smirk, taking advantage of the situation to look over her shoulder and wink at Ivy, before the young, dumb guard escorts her from the room. "Anytime, Ivy! It's always grand! Maybe a different location at some point?" She parrots back to the redhead, a hand going to John's forearm.
"She's such a good friend, John. Do make sure she is able to call me whenever. I worry about her sometimes, and wish she could see some sort of plant; she's so good with them. And I'll have to mention to your boss that you're doing such a good job as well. Considering my company has done work here, that will be fantastic! It's always nice to know an investment is having good returns!" Comes her syrupy sweet prattling, as they walk to the lounge.

The last moment question catches Poison Ivy by surprise, but then she quickly grinning as the unspoken hint here is that whatever she says will soon find it's way into her hands. Her first instinct is to say one of her own plants, but to get one Selina would have to visit her hideout, and she's not prepared to tell even her where it is. So she'll have to settle with saying, "My favorite? How could I possibly choose? But I have a certain extra fondness for the rarities - the rarer the better - and those with unusual traits." She shrugs, unable to be any clearer than that. To name one off the top of her head would be impossible, really. Then again, even the most common of plants would be an absolute joy in this hellhole.
Once she's moved a generous distance away from the door and turned, she can't help but smirk when she sees Selina's little trick with the door. Clever! Little tricks like that are totally not her own style - she has plenty of her own - but she can appreciate this one. Though she does have to speculate about why Selina felt the need to do that to the door - just to show off? Or was she worried that she might have to escape? Come to think of it, she's not sure whether or not she'd be more upset or pleased if it was the latter - probably because she's uncertain whether or not she'd rather be trusted or feared. "Of course!" she responds - there are all sorts of places that they can go and things that they can do as rogues, come to think of it. The back room in the lounge, for example. She's already had that sort of fun with Harley, but she imagines that there's more than a slight difference between what the clown girl and the Catwoman do to amuse themselves.
Once Selina is out of the room, Poison Ivy walks back to the window and watches her friend walking away with John. And she can't help but smirk at what she's overhearing - there are limits to what even John can and is willing to do for her, but he does have that soft spot for her and would be quite easily convinced to do anything within those limits. Especially if you butter him up - that's how she got him to have that soft spot for her in the first place. So Selina's playing him perfectly. Yes - she can only imagine what they could get up to together once she leaves this place!
