The Scarecrow had seen Nightwing’s athletic ability before. He was quite the acrobat and although he was light on his feet himself, he didn’t have the ability to do what this unfortunate bird did. His threat was empty and it would stay empty as what was going on was so much bigger than what he was capable of comprehending. Because of his empty threat The Scarecrow kept his focus on Starfire, whom he was way more fascinated with at the moment. The shadow of the bat could wait his turn, he would have it and at hand hands of his own weakness if he didn’t give up while he was ahead.
His focus was only distracted by the toss of annoying throwing tools that came blazing passed him. His arms went up in an effort to protect his face but before he knew it the shadow was on him. The rough strike came to his chest and his muscles reflexively relaxed to soften the blow on him. He let every muscle loosen and his balance goes with the momentum to knock him off his feet and roll backwards once again. In the same motion he was able to roll backwards and back onto his feet, finally coming to stand and keep a distance between the two of them. What fear drove this man? Was it the fear of losing his precious weakness that fought helplessly against his commands? She would…Submit to his commands and there would be nothing this little shadow in the Batman’s mirror could do about it. “This has nothing to do with you.” He directed toward him firmly after bringing his hand to his chest to brace back the pain from the strike.
Nightwing would have been a waste of time and energy to fight, that was not who he was here for and he wasn’t even here to fight Starfire. They had just made things incredibly convenient and quick for him. Dr. Crane had always had certain reservations about fighting, although he had taught and studied into his own art very well. He had the capability and the energy to match any foe in his mind that he would face but he chose his battles very wisely. There was no desire to play with the frightened bird that stood before him now, he had more important issues to tend to.
When he had first learned about this serum at the questionable courtesy of Mr. Luthor of course he was skeptical of whether it would work on Starfire. He had little luck of his own with his toxins in usage on animals or more powerful beings that seemed to have grown their own immunities to foreign bodies. But after several demonstrations and testing of his own he knew it was going to work, it had to work for the sake of his plan and he was not going to fail. This was far too important to let slip between his fingers and a whole lifetimes of research rested in the balance.
But finally among the chaos he was able to see it at work. At first she resisted, a strong tone that held her independence, but he could see that something was certainly off. She didn’t seem to be with them and at the same time she was. The Scarecrow backed up as he watched her, keeping a good eye still on Nightwing to watch his movements. …and what he saw next…made his mind flood with newer possibilities for this certain serum. Starfire was having difficulty controlling her actions and when she was assaulted she attacked. He watched the thug be utterly destroyed in front of them, Starfire now captured his full attention as her screams flowed into the air. The sight was blinding, the feeling was almost enough to make him drop to his knees, but he kept his composure, beginning to advance toward her. There would be enough of this, the Serum was working and he wanted to make sure it kept working. “Run…” He warned to Nightwing, giving him the best possible option he could handle at this point. The Scarecrow had no desire to deal with him anymore and if he tried to persist he would have Starfire destroy him. “Starfire…” His voice rose above the commotion, demanding attention from her. “Take me to Gotham…and I will explain to you why you are going to do exactly as I say”
He turned slightly to keep his watch on Nightwing. “If you would like to remain among the living I would suggest you not upset your weakness further…”

Scarecrow was doing a rather good job at protecting himself against Nightwing's attack. Though it seemed to be taking quite a toll on him. Nightwing really wanted to strike him harder. But it seemed he wouldn't get a chance.
All the action around him was drawing his attention from his attack on Scarecrow. Kory's actions were getting out of control. She was yelling in pain. Shouting that she wouldn't be control. So what was it...
Scarecrow was going to control her. For what? But there could be a lot he could do with having Kory under his command. A strong alien like her could do some damage.
He stopped, hearing her screams. What was he going to do? There was nothing he could do to save her. The collar was something he could not free her from. He had already tried. But he could only fight to try and save her.
But Kory's screams were catching his attention. He couldn't turn away from her. He wasn't going to run. He heard Scarecrow calls. Telling him to run.
Nightwing couldn't run! He couldn't leave Kory! He could never do such a thing. And he wasn't about to leave her. He'd fight for her. Even if she was under Scarecrow control. He would fight to try and save her.
Dick couldn't make himself turn away. But what could he do, but to watch all that was happening.
"Starfire," Dick yelled out to her.
He wanted to run to her. But after seeing what had happened to the man that had been in front of her, he couldn't just run out there to her. And even Scarecrow was down on his knees after what had happened.
Nightwing turned to Scarecrow. He ran up to him and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "Tell me what you are doing to her. And you better stop it," Dick said out loud.
He knew what it was doing to her. But he wanted it to stop. It was tormenting him. He couldn't stand to see Kory in pain. It was driving him mad. And he knew he couldn't stop it himself.
Nightwing brought Scarecrow to his level. "Stop this now," Nightwing shouted at him. Eyes narrowed. He was almost gasping for breath through this pain he had to watch and the anger he felt. He was trying to control himself. But Nightwing's anger was driving him. "Or you will regret it," he says through gritted teeth.

There was movement somewhere around Starfire. She was defiantly in and out of it. With her orange hand still trying something, but no use. As the rupture from the needles, pulsated throughout the surrounding nerves. Flowing like a spreading tree, growing. There was still her will. Her mind as such, but it didn't make it any less something Starfire could feel. As her other hand was still stretched out in attempts to attack Scarecrow, but it seemingly dropped now. With the shaking of her groans and every now and then. The bellowing of her screams. Cries. As her green eyes filled with every inch of her that was trying to hold on. Just as she always had. Starfire didn't want again be the little girl, victimised by something out of her control. Her pink blood was warm as it trickled over her warm orange flesh. Her knees buckled again as before. Shaken. It half caused Starfire to fall where she stood. Her hand fell to with the stains of her blood as it came to the ground. Trying not to be too defeated. Not to just fall to her knees and submit. Starfire couldn't stop her right knee, but managed to keep her left bent, with her foot planted. Everything seemed so crippling and dark around her. As if so much she was struggling to fight from being sucked into this black hole. To forever be alone. No one to hear her voice. See her strength. She wasn't a victim. She was a hero. She was a warrior. As Starfire snarled with her lips. At the sound of Scarecrow calling her name. As if she was a pet. A play thing.
Then as if a shot through her aggression. Her name was called again… One of her names… It wasn't so much that… It was the voice that spoke it. Called out to her. With every intent he was still here… In some way beside her. Feeling the strong beating in her chest. Felt the drive… He wouldn't stop. Starfire knew it. Was one reason she did love him so much. Had she been in his feet, then Starfire wouldn't give up either. She needed him alive in this world. The world needed him. It wasn't a weakness… It couldn't be. Already the rush. The way she felt, it was quite a power. A strength. What ever it is, was not worth walking away and find out what would happen. Even though Starfire had already kind of done that. It hadn't been easy. He didn't define her. This love… But the memories. Once yet to have, were the happiest she had been. Starfire yearned and felt with nightwing's struggle. Wanting his touch. His aid to save her, but not wanting him hurt in the process. Then it be all for nothing and she would still be where she was. Starfire lifted her heavy head. With the red hair tousled in disarrange in her face and trailed some across her. Over her shoulder to spread as if like blood across the ground. Upon hearing Scarecrow's request… To take him to gotham… There was a pull to do what he said, but her will for not wanting to stopped her. For now, but blinked silently. Looking at him as if contemplating it. Was she actually considering it… To help Scarecrow. She frowned. No… Starfire didn't help people like him…
Just in an odd flash. She heard Nightwing confront Scarecrow. Even so much as catching it with her own eyes. As she struggled with what flowing through her body. Like a hot boiling volcano trying to explode, but she couldn't escape. The added acid was defiantly putting up a fight with her lava. Hearing the fight. The threats from Nightwing. Starfire could almost smile if she could. Felt his deep desire to protect her, but she didn't want him to do something he would regret. As the clock ticked. There was seeming more and more. Starfire was slipping. To say she would have to give up, seemed alien to her. She had to face that reality, but she wasn't sure if she could hold on. No matter how much she wanted to… She'd find a way out eventually, but now…
Upon hearing the threats against Nightwing's own life. Simply as Starfire brought her free hand to her face. She knew the power she was capable of. Scarecrow could only guess. As Starfire frowned… Crumbled at the thought as to what hell she could herself unleash if she was under someone else's control. As could feel her body slipping further more into the black hole along with her mind. This was torturous for Starfire. Everything she stood against. Possibly accepting the on coming defeat, but it was less acceptance, more little choice… She had one choice… To save Nightwing from himself… No… From herself. As she slammed her fist into the ground. Crumbled with tiny pieces. Shaking the earth beneath their feet in a mild rumble. Starfire saw the two options… To kill him or save him before succumbing to defeat. What was worse. Living on without him or Living knowing he was alive? Starfire didn't want Dick to die and she certainly didn't want it done at her hands.
"Run… Nightwing… Go… Go…. Go…"
Starfire slipped heavily from her tongue. Her eyes at first to the ground. Not enjoying the fact she was saying it, but knowing she had to. No matter what Scarecrow said, it wouldn't make Nightwing run off. As Starfire's eyes danced to strike at Nightwing as she called out his name. With the last few signs of her true voice and the lightness. The warmth. As yelled passionately from her painful chest. To go…. Begging him nearly to a point, making sure he heard her and not wanting him to make her do something she didn't want to do. Even though so badly she wanted him here. To look in his eyes and feel safe. So badly to wrap his arms around her and together leave this like it was a bad dream. But he wasn't there before and even though so badly she feared him running off. Never to see him.. As the pained scared look. The question crossed her eyes. Would she ever see him again? Would he recognise her if she did? Would she recognise herself? As she trailed off in those questions. In search before striking him a look, as if almost a trying to tell him the questions she had. To reassure her, but knowing he couldn't. Not in the way that she wanted him to… Not here and not like this.
"I don't want to hurt you..."
With the look set in from what Starfire could see of Nightwing. As with her voice. Her body slightly crumbled where she felt like a hot mess. This wasn't a sight she was honoured for Nightwing to see. To see her any less than she was. A tamaranean showing weakness would shame her people. Given they were the same race that had set her to be in as worse situation when she was a child. With her chest rising heavily. As if something slowly taking hold. There was just that last switch, but Starfire would wait. Hold that little longer. To see Nightwing safe. She needed him safe. What ever this monster would do with Starfire as a puppet… It could destroy more than Gotham. Than Bludhaven… He couldn't save her like this… Not now… Even no matter how much he felt he was turning his back on her… Something Starfire knew he would never want to do, not again…. But Starfire was sure he'd find away… A titan always did!

It had been taking a toll on him. It seemed that anything and everything lately wanted to hurt him, but it was common. How could they do anything else but fear what they couldn’t grasp? What they could never understand and never be able to wrap their mind around? No, The Scarecrow’s mind was far too clear on this matter, and no matter how many bones or how much blood anyone was dying to spill from him he would never back down on what he was trying to accomplish. This was so much greater than any of them would ever be.
His attention had been on Starfire, she was the main attraction of all of this and considering what he had been through, possibly one of the only ways he could fix what had been done. He would set things back to his original plan, no matter how many people tried to step into the way. Nightwing coming here with her had actually sped up his plan further than he could have even fathomed. But why would the boy be thinking ahead? The Scarecrow wasn’t dealing with the brightest of minds here. After all they followed a false hope and a lie placed in some false reality. Only the Scarecrow knew the truth of what was going on all around them, and soon enough they would see for themselves.
The way she screamed. The way she cried out in agony. Everything was too perfect around her and his attention or acknowledgment that Nightwing was even pursuing him. She was perfect, a perfect personification of all his research. His eyes were fixated, he felt he could almost drop to his knees each time she screamed and take it into himself. Each breath was a testament to all that he had done, making every broken bone worth it for this moment. He wanted to fall and reach his arms out for her, not to hold her close and not to comfort her but to take what he wanted. To adorn himself in the feeling that he deserved, that he desired, that he was blinded by.
But Just as his thoughts turned to the possibility of doing so the annoying boy ran up and assaulted him. He was taken by surprise, too wrapped up in Starfire’s display to prepare for what happened next. Suddenly he was ripped into the air by the stronger male and his chest only rise slightly higher, with the arch of his body. The Scarecrow was a tall man, much taller than Nightwing so even when grabbed by the collar, all he was doing was trying to intimidate him. He couldn’t help it; with his demand The Scarecrow let a sinister smile come to his features. Did he really think that this was going to work on the master of fear? His intimidation factor wasn’t working. He was in control here and although this man had the muscle to break him, his hands were quite tied with the situation.
With a jerk he was brought further down and his knees bent slightly to the power behind Nightwing’s grip. Oh…Where was he finding this strength? The doctor searched Nightwings eyes, slightly hidden behind his mask. Being brought down to his level was like opening another world of questions about this man. Dangerous questions that often got him into trouble, what fear drove this man that was making him lose so much control over himself? And with the gasp and the threat that followed he couldn’t help but emit a soft, dark laughter. “Break to fear…” He whispered to him, almost as a challenge. If he could bring himself to kill him in this moment everything would be opened up. Of course he had nothing to fear, Nightwing couldn’t kill him even if he found the strength to. The Scarecrow was a god and nothing could kill him, especially not this Nightwing and his weakness that followed him so blindly. Starfire had confirmed everything by beginning to chant that her weakness needed to leave. She was right; it was the best thing for him because in a single moment he could make his greatest nightmare come true.
She was bending to the will of the toxin quickly, and he would have to take advantage of the situation while he could, there was no telling how long the collar would hold power over her without another injection, and that would take more time, time that he didn’t have while being held by this vigilante. His hands rose to grab the others and try to push him away. “Starfire…Force Nightwing to remove himself and then taken me to Gotham..” He gritted toward Nightwing…Not her. “Now…” He held the power here…and Nightwing would found out just how much he had if he stuck around to find out.

Nightwing could hear Starfire's pleads for him to leave. But he couldn't bring himself to break his grip on Scarecrow's shirt collar. His anger was controlling him. He didn't want to let Scarecrow win.
Dick didn't want to abandon Kory. And he wanted to make the pain stop for her. But truly there was nothing he could do.
Nightwing's glare was piercing hard at Scarecrow before him. His mind blocking out everything else as he was blinded by rage. An anger he knew was in him and wasn't safe. Almost pushing him over the edge. To got after him was one thing, but to attack his loved ones...and especially Kory. Scarecrow was crossing the line.
And he was putting himself in deeper water as he tormented Kory. Trying to control her. He could pay for this. Nightwing was keeping himself hardly in check.
At Scarecrow's words, Nightwing only glared at him. And at his command to Kory.,,,he knew it was directed toward him to show that Scarecrow was in control now.
And he could feel the Scarecrow trying to get away from his grip. But Nightwing held fast. Not letting him down. Nightwing quickly turned and slammed Scarecrow into one of the concrete pillars in the parking garage.
"You are making a grave mistake, Scarecrow," Nightwing said.
He gave him a moment. Glaring at him. Many things running through his head of how he could just finish him off now. But Nightwing was holding himself back. He was better than that.

Now was the moment when you felt like your were on the brink. What was left of Starfire to grasp. This was everything she was not. As the tamaranean princess had crumbled upon the ground as if her hair fell down like the pool of blood. It was only a hint of what Starfire was stopping from truly slipping out. There came a faint jolt. A sharpness… Felt swirl of toxins her genes were trying to fight. His presence… Made her attention keep redirecting to him. What the x'hal was happening to her? Something trying to pull her back, but she was her own box? Her hands sprawled along the cold stone. As her lungs coughed up trying with all her will to remain something not only Nightwing recognised, but she did. He didn't speak… Every inch of her Starfire searched her way. To reach him. For him to find his way to her and if by his touch, it was just a dream. Just a horrible dream… But it wasn't. As she searched through thick shady eyes. Seeking the black and blue through the fog of her mind. Shaking her head. Her body faintly shook. Unable to smile that he couldn't backdown… How would it be so easy for him? Starfire wouldn't have run had it been him, usually with her powers, that gave less meaning to it, but what was this world without him? He would find away… Starfire frowned… She knew he would, to save her, but not now…. Not like this… She couldn't know how well Crane knew her and Nightwing did… If her made her unleash her powers upon him… It would destroy him. Her heart couldn't bare it. As if her face clouded in an expression of mourning… It wasn't meant to be like that.
There came a chill… Greater than before… There was his eyes… His pull… Scarecrow. How he stared. As if calling. Was a part of her actually considering? Wanting his arms and give him wanted. Part of her drew comfort there. Starfire felt how long the need now was lasting… Growing. With the faint turn of her head as if she wanted to know who he was? And what he had to show her? In which Starfire gasped as the link broke… Least for a moment. As Nightwing drew the Scarecrows attention. Her green eyes shifted as if knowing she had no choice, but every inch of didn't want to go down this well. She did not want to follow him. As she felt as if she was being pushed into a cage. Into a place she be alone… Like she would be nothing but a shell… Kory seeped out painful sounds. As if faintly she was drowning. Groans. Despite the sounds of pains. It was nothing to the pains she had felt so many years ago and even then Starfire to find her way out of that. Then it hadn't just been an needle… There was a reason she had starbolts, when it wasn't a tamaranean trait. Things that once tried to rip her skin apart. Monsters that ran deep claws along her back and show her no inch of kindness. Shut away, with knowing the only ones that loved her were the ones that had put her there. Starfire's hand ran along the collar. It was only a shard… A reminder… As her hands came to her eyes… No matter how hard she blocked it… The screams she had once heard from dawn to dusk, came encased a memory she wished she could forget. Most heartedly the children…. There was no words to describe it… As her tears sprung down he cheeks… Leaked through her hands. As her palms could still feel the collar. Her ears echoed… Between her tears and fingers Starfire could see the struggle. Starfire sharply shut her eyes at Scarecrow's words and Nightwing's stance. As Scarecrow's command still echoed, it left the trickling of more tears. She didn't want to hurt and she knew this was the only chance Scarecrow would offer to save him… It wasn't so much out of kindness, he just wanted her now… A hand slipped back down tot he ground with force again it crumbled and faintly shook.
"Please!… Don't make me do this!"
Low! Deep in her throat as her words sprung in distaste and she frowned. Bringing her hand to her chest. Her eyes looked to nothingness upon the floor. Shaking her head. Knowing she was being left with little choice. Her words could be taken to either, but mostly it was Nightwing. As her green eyes lifted to search for him. Least this one time… Half smiling, knowing it probably wouldn't seem long until he found away or she did and this was behind them. With the very need to find a way to reach out… To touch him… To feel him with her, but knowing for now she couldn't keep him here… He was capable of more than he knew… Starfire knew, it wasn't Nightwing that was really keeping himself here… It was Dick Grayson. Perhaps by chance if she was to lose control and really attack him. He might still find a way… He always found a way, but Starfire couldn't trust, she knew her strength. As Starfire shifted mildly upon where she kneeled as her lips winched mildly in pain. Her hand trailed at the crumbled mess of the ground as the other traced the collar. Just as she was going to try with one last effort… The basic instinct to survive. It was like a switch that shot up through her like a shot of energy… Different kind… Something in the way Scarecrow had said 'Now'. It was strong. There was less pain, least physically pain… The needle almost felt comforting. A fear if it left her… As through the shot. Caused Starfire to fall forwards. Feeling it greatly through her shoulders. as her hands caught herself at the ground. As if half falling to a crawl position. But for a moment she didn't crawl… Starfire breathed in the toxins. Her red hair fell around her bare skin. Down her shoulders and covered most of her face. As the only movement now, was the raising of her head. The change in her still eyes that could be seen between the strands of red… If this still was Starfire… That remained to be seen.
As moments Starfire took she rose to greater heights back to feet. Her steps motioning before them as did with little hesitation. Step by step. With her purple space boots. Trailing up to her orange thighs to her the purple suit that covered some and left her golden skin to glow still know what was inside her. Colours…. The jewels… All once nod to the fact she was once royalty. Born to rule, but her treatment had led to her realisation that she never wanted to rule anyone nor be ruled again herself… Here she was… Koriand'r… Reaching out her hand to the Scarecrow. Her eyes showed no fear as she looked into the dark hollowed eyes. As if he had more than drawn her in. Her eyes trailed down his hand as she expected to find some sort of embrace of it. To show her willingness. The only thing… it was faint… the twitch in some of the muscles in her face, upon the realisation of what she was doing as Starfire drew closer at Scarecrow's side… Why would Nightwing stop her? As if her lips faintly hinted at a smile, more jus the softness of her features. Starfire stood tall beside him. Felt the touch of what ever he was made of, it didn't exactly feel alive, but Starfire didn't seem worried. As she half turned into him, leaning in enough with her other hand reaching as if a tender touch upon the Scarecrow's cheek as with her stroke of her fingers against his mask, was the display of perfection. As if proclaiming she was now becoming under his control and a i hint she accepted it. With the flinch of her lips as her fingers trailed at the edge of his mouth in consideration before her next move as she with drew her hand slowly bringing it before her with the delicate way she held her hand out so lightly, there had been the faint show of reluctance as she settled her hand still and as her eyes moved from the Scarecrow to Nightwing. Her face showed that last trace of discomfort in doing this, her eyes shadowed as her brows frowned. Saddened to do it and given that last glimpse of Starfire… At least for now. As if in slow motion her hand glowed pink, pushing the blast of energy with enough strength and power to wards him to knock him off his feet. As Starfire looked though the mist of pink, shifting her eyes to the sky and to Scarecrow.
"You wanted me to take you to Gotham?"
If he wanted Starfire to take them to Gotham now. Flight was one way to travel. It was the natural way for her as her voice remained with the more sweet tone, despite there was still that faint look this was his command and she hadn't great will to protest to him... As Starfire motioned closer to the Scarecrow to take a hold and to shoot across the sky like a star to Gotham City. Unless he had other ideas in how he wanted to travel.

The young Nightwing that he had come to know quite personally in the last few moments had a death grip on his collar. Oh, that look in his eyes. That burning fit of rage emitting from every muscle he pulled in his face. He was absolutely petrified….It was euphoric. Through all of this he was breaking, breaking even if he didn’t realize it, that he was succumbing quickly to fear. It was exactly as it should be. He said he would break….and he would…
Suddenly he was grabbed and ripped from one side to the other, his feet dragged and his heels dug into the ground but it was no good as he was slammed into the pillar. The force was hard and it knocked the breath from his chest. With a wheeze he tried to gain it back, peeling his fingers over the annoying vigilantes to try and make him let go of the death grip. His word’s echoed in his ears, the power behind it and the fear with every syllable was incredible. He panted out his laughs once his breath was finally caught back into his chest and his expression turned slightly unstable. “Interesting choice of words…Your mistakes may very well send you to your grave..” A half smile turned onto his lips.
He wasn’t going to fight him much harder as Starfire made her approach. He took note that she fell down, she had a very strong will, but as she made her way toward them he knew that her will alone was not enough. The beautiful little invention that Luther had provided the provisions for was just working beautifully. Of course, nothing mattered more than the execution of the material itself. “Everything you do now affects her…And I can make her do… Anything…” He emphasized on the last word to pulse the man’s fears. He wanted to see it deeper in his eyes. The cold stare of the scarecrow bore into his, daring him to challenge him on that fact, daring him to show his fear…Show him who he was.
But just as the tension between them couldn’t get any larger her hand came to his face. He stiffened at the gesture but turned his attention to her as she did. This…was not what he was expecting. He saw it in her eyes and a world of questions flooded into his mind. She may have given him the perfect reason to keep her longer than he had to and with that in mind; her body drew closer to the darkness within him even if he was being held against a pillar. He watched her eyes turn to Nightwing’s, and he couldn’t help but grin through the darkness of the mask. “Anything..” He reminded Nightwing just before the blast sent him back. Not at his hands, directly… but still satisfying all the same. He pushed off the pillar and dusted himself off, adjusting his tattered clothes back to where they looked normal at least.
He didn’t want to waste any more time here when there was so much more to do. He made sure he had what he needed from the van and then lead down his hand to meet hers. He laced his fingers within hers a short wince coming with the motion, but he shook it off and nodded to Starefire. “To Gotham.” He had a lot to think about on the way, but he still had his plan in order. Plans do change after all and she had made it to where things…were certainly going to change. He hadn’t expected the sudden attachment to himself, but he was going to find out why no matter how long it took. First…there were more pressing matters at hand.

Nightwing's hatred was focused on Scarecrow. His fists drilling into either the wall or Scarecrow's collar bone. Scarecrow's play on mental torment taking its toll.
His glare and gritted teeth showing his anger as he held Scarecrow against the pillar. But his mind working over the Scarecrow's words. He spoke the truth.
As Kory draws closer to the two of them, seeing her actions toward the Scarecrow sickened Nightwing. What was he to do? Kory seemed lost to him at this point. This wasn't the Starfire who fought along side of him. And this was not the Kory he knew. The change in her eyes said it all. She was losing her grip.
But at her actions and Scarecrow's words echoing in his head, his grip slightly lightened on the Scarecrow for a moment. At the last moment of eye contact between Kory and him. Scarecrow repeated his word. That one word. Anything.
Between that and the one word, Nightwing lost his grip. Everything else seemed to just fade out. The look on Kory's face. The smug look on the Scarecrow's, even with the mask on. The starbolt hitting him and taking him out of the way.
Nightwing was knocked of his feet. It felt like it was all playing in slow motion. But it was too fast of him to really react.
He was knocking back and got several yards in the air before he tried to regain himself. Only to land on his feet. But the attack had too much force to it yet. So, it sent him off into another few tumbles. That was until he was stopped by hitting into the trunk of a sports car. There was a dent left in it slightly as he sunk down to the ground.
His breath escaping during the hit as he then found himself sitting on the ground. And propped up against the back of the car. The last sight he got of Kory was of her taking Scarecrow off with her. Looking up after them, his mind was only starting to wonder how he was going to begin to catch up to them. And how he was going to save Kory.
