[This will take place starting at the sewers and will eventually move to the Iceburg Lounge. Starfire and Scarecrow will post first untill they reach that point and then Penguin will jump in later.]
There was nothing to fear. Starfire had done exactly as she was told and in a blink of an eye they were flying across the city. It didn’t take them long at all before they were over Gotham. The feeling of flight was new to him. The Scarecrow had little reason to ever leave Gotham and had no desire to visit anywhere else in the world. The city below his feet was where he belonged, its dark streets and its tall towers looming over the ignorance of the populace within. As he took in the sights of the city there was only one thing on his mind, completing what he had set out to do.
They were moving fast, and the air was thin and cold. It was far too cold for his enjoyment, but at the moment he was numb to the ice that could have formed over his face. Nothing could ever be hot enough for him, so the icy touch of the wind that tried to break him was nothing and right now there were far more important matters at hand. From up here the city seemed so quiet, even though he knew it was bustling below with its mindless rabble, going about their mindless lives, unaware of what they were truly doing. Couples curled together on park benches in the winter snow trying to hide their fears in a meaningless lie, people hurried home from work to sit down with their families and lie to themselves about the illusion of their happiness. But up where they were, time seemed to stand still, a direct look at how some of the vigilantes watch over the city, and try to fulfill a hopeless purpose.
He had told Starfire exactly where they needed to go once they crossed into Gotham. He had everything set up already, in the sewers beneath the depths of the city, preparing for the night that he was going to turn the tables back in his favor. Tonight would be that night, but first he had to make sure the the serum was continuously working, and he needed to make sure to talk with Starfire. As much as he didn’t want to communicate with her, aside from commands it was necessary. She needed to know exactly what she was doing and why she was doing it. There would be no mistake; by the end of this her outlook on everything would change. But that was exactly how he wanted it.
It wasn’t too much longer before they made their decent to the street, he was gently placed on his feet by the most obedient Starefire and he made her follow him into the sewers. They didn’t walk for too great of a distance before he came to his underground set up made simply for her. His lab was located in another area, a temporary source where he worked for Mr. Luthor. The thought made his jaw tighten; he didn’t want to be under the hand of that man any more than that of Ra’s al Ghul. But for the moment he would let Mr. Luthor believe that he was in control of what was going on.
They came into the entrance of his current hidden lair. Chains wrapped the walls to the back and several cuffs littered the floor, it would be her prison for now. He led her further in and demanded that she took a seat where the chains were…on the cold sewer floor. Once she was in place he snapped cuffs to both sides of the brace around her neck and two to her wrists to hold her where she was. Without an explanation he walked away and began to prepare at a nearby table. He pulled out a cylinder from his pocket and a few syringes, uncapping them and making sure that they were sterile before he walked back to her. There was no telling how long this effect was going to last on her without proper reinforcement. He came back up to her and clicked the side of her collar before he inserted the syringe and pulled it out filled with the green substance. The doctor asked for her arm and she gave it , slowly he inserted the needle and pushed more of the substance into her.
Once he was done he discarded the needle, tossing it over the edge of the back of the sewers, to wherever it may go, he didn’t care. Slowly he bent down to her level, balancing on his heels he looked into her eyes. “Now you are going to know what your purpose is in all of this….” Dr. Crane never took his focus off of her but he reached into his jacket and pulled out a small clipping from Gotham Times that had VerMillion’s picture on the front, a small article about her kidnapping. “You are going to be the asset in which I get her back with and the tool that I will use to instill fear.” He changed his words to avoid the word help. After all, this wasn’t about her helping him, this was about her doing as he said.
It was unfortunate, how Vigilante’s worked. Their weakness to help the downtrodden and the helpless. Surely she would have heard of VerMillion’s kidnapping to himself, but possibly not that he had lost her to Mr. Cobblepot. Starfire may not be internally willing to get Vermillion back for him, but she may be more willing to find her in general. That is why he was going to come out the victor in this, whether she wanted it to be that way or not. She could show her true colors to him now. “The Penguin has her….and I intend to get her back but whatever means necessary. Do you understand?”

It was rather the epic outer body experience. Starfire was there and then she wasn't. There was the looming question if she pinched herself, would she feel it? Especially when so much felt numb. Particularly her will. Had it been her will? As she further questioned as through the chilling night sky Starfire held the Scarecrow within her grasp. Not in any form of aggression nor any form of firmness. There was illness in her touch. It was rather gentle as if with care. Whatever part of her it was, adored him? Not in the lovesick way, but in some form. In the way in wanting to please him and how ever it was working. Her fear of isolation a part of her wanted to cling to him. What choice did she have? Deep into the dark shallow of her mind, was all but a little light. As if sitting upon a cold metal seat, with little way of warmth behinds jail bars, too much for even her own strength to pull apart. With the last image running key. Dick Grayson. Striking him before forcing herself to leave him. That shear look of him looking upon her as if he did not recognise her? Her eyes as if look around the space, was looking for the way out any chance to fight this, she would. If for a moment Scarecrow slipped, she wouldn't hesitate that she knew, at least she believed that. But just as she looked into the eyes of the man she loved.
There was a weighing feeling. Felt like she was falling. Not physically out of the sky, but she was in her mind. With a flash of light. Coming at her closed eye lids. There was a soothing sound. The smell of salt… The smell of freedom no doubt. Opening her eyes. The room was lit from the sunshine outside. Looking across she could catch the sandy beach. Even the crashing waves. Rolling as if to remind the earth below her was still moving and life was taking its natural course. The blissfulness came at her lips and every weight seemed all but gone from her. All doubt and worries. Nothing but the present? Who knew what this was? Her orange limbs curled throughout the sheets. She was in control? Stretching a little, before she heard the groan beside her. As if it was so common. For a moment everything stopped. Her green eyes then traced along the other side of the bed. Traced the silorette before landing upon Dick's face. He was sleepy, but he was smiling at her. Suddenly Kory felt the sense of easiness. Comfort if nothing else. Why was it hard not smile? Beside the fact she was generally the joyful kind, somewhere she was kicking herself. Then he looked at her a little with concern. Felt his touch along her arm closet to him. It gave an extra smile to the corner of her lips. Before he spoke first. That she had spoken in her sleep. Mostly screaming 'You can't take me. Don't let him take me. I won't let it happen.' Kory could recall it, but it was only a dream? Before Dick added that she had also kicked him. Of course it wasn't major damage as she caught the amusement in his eyes, not that he wasn't clearly feeling it to a level, but Kory softly laughed. Oddly noting how it seemed to echo, but Dick didn't notice. As she looked around the room. Was it darker? Shaking her head and rose to a more sitting position. Taking the bedding to her chest, before sweetly looking down upon Dick.
"Must of been a crazy dream, I don't remember, but I didn't intend on kicking you. Is there a way I can make it up to you?"
Kory's eyes looked as if she tried to recall before, but being a tamaranean was probably why she was only seeing the now. Her eyes ran as if in trying to recall, but she just couldn't, not that it was totally concerning as Kory naturally fell back into where she was exactly. Before asking him amusement in her voice, not that she was the overly apologetic type. Representing a particular risen eye brow at him. As joy reached the look of her face. As he said he knew of a way. Soon found his arm reaching and Kory closer. Practically within his grasp. Coiled even more in the bedding. Stillness came. It was quieter. In an odd way at nearly the same time they brushed away each other's hair out of their eyes. The connection? Seemingly so. Before finally within the attempts Kory could almost reach his lips. Mostly the brushing feeling, not overly enough, but she was in no hurry, but something wrinkled at her nose. Images flashed a little. It seemed like nothing. Perhaps the dream trying to take shape. Though as she looked down. He looked concerned again. It had that closing in feeling in the room. Kory looked to the window to the sunshine outside. The warmth. Kory could almost feel the energy seeping through her skin at the thought. The thought of strength. She needed it.
"Will you come to the beach with me, Dick?"
There was that little hope as she asked, because even moments before finishing he nodded. Perhaps he knew? Despite the fact she had pulled back a little. Reluctantly given he was comfort, but not as comfort as the sun could be. Smiling sweetly to place another kiss on his lips, as a slight flinch came to her mind, but so minor it was practically ignored. Uncoiling herself out of the bedding and eventually planting her bare feet on the ground. Just she motioned to stand, but Dick didn't move so quickly, but he was enough. As Kory looked back with a small smile. Slipping on something simple and it seemed calming again. Freedom! As her smile warmed at the anticipation of being outside soon. Especially the feeling of sand between her toes. Kory then didn't waste much time, before taking the steps towards the door. Only the flashes back. So much so that she felt something forcing her. Just enough step and then Kory found herself as if falling to the floor. Her hand coming to her head and just in moments, she felt Dick upon her. Worried no doubt and helped regain her footing. Shaking it off. Reassuring him she would be fine, she just needed to get outside, not that tamaraneans needed oxygen, but something along those lines. For a few moments he was beside her. As Kory reached the door way, but just as she had taken a few teasing steps outside, Kory realised he was no longer beside her. Turning back to seem within the doorway just a foot steps of so behind her. With a look in his eyes, Kory couldn't say she had seen before. Nor could understand. What was he thinking? What was he feeling?
"Aren't you coming?"
Kory spoke with direct warm intent. Curiosity as if she wasn't sure. There was nothing wrong. Then as she simply watched his face. As she felt the pulling of her heart, that little feeling she got because she didn't want him to walk away. Especially didn't want to push him away. Dick then smiled. With such genuine joy, that Kory felt the doubt was gone. Smiling warmly as Kory turned her head back a moment to the beach ahead, ready to greet it with him in toe. Nothing seemed impossible. Just as Kory was at the brink of it, looking back again to the doorway. It was empty. There was nothing. Very little trace if any that Dick was even there… Darting her eyes around. Calling out his name… It echoed. Half making herself dizzy as if the world around span crazily around her. Looking and trying to find him. There was no one. It was quiet again, save a thud in her head. With haste Kory returned up the path she had barely stepped on. Taking that last glance hope he hadn't just sped up and beat her to the beach, but there was nothing but waves. Hand firm holding some of her weight upon the door frame. As she peered inside. Felt even more empty. Kory called out his name. Looked, but couldn't find him. After was time, Kory had sank at the doorway. With her shoulder and side resting against it. Half catching herself. Her eyes darted around, but she could focus on very little. Suddenly feeling so alone. Her red hair falling in and around her orange form, limbs. As if half of herself was waiting. For what? Looking in down in a look of confusion. She felt something at her wrists and it felt colder. There was a sound of water, but not the sound of waves. Then the smell again.
Starfire wasn't so much falling now. As her eyes were open now. The darkness of some place she was sure was beneath the city of Gotham. There was the sound of metal closing. Starfire moved her hands, but something moved against them. Chains. As she looked across, not that she could easily move her neck either. With instinct she resisted against the chains, but she has little control of her strength. Mostly she was confused at least the part that was being controlled. At this point she could merely think of breaking free and even show the attempt, but to break further she just didn't have the power so easily. Then just as she hadn't been paying attention she heard the footsteps and sounds just a little from where she sat upon the cold place he had put her. There was the feeling of the need of her strength. Of aggression as he was moving towards her. Watching the cold glare of his eyes, she just couldn't persuade herself and barely flinched as he was upon her now with needle in hand. The requirement was more compelling. Starfire offered her arm willingly as her eyes stared upon him. The numbing sensation save she was drawn to him, least for now. Felt his hand upon her skin. Flinched in a simple response in the faint sharpness as the needle struggled against her tamaranean skin, but it had found its way in with enough pressure. Soon the sensation wasn't there anymore. Starfire was still left upon the steel cold bench, but she was awake enough. Half of her wanted to sleep, but her nature wouldn't allow her to simply give up… For now Starfire was his vessel. Lifting her head as Crane spoke and had her attention. Eyes followed his movement of his hands pulling out a newspaper clipping. Showing it, as Starfire looked to it then him in confusing. How was this her purpose? Starfire barely knew what he was talking about, but Starfire nodded. Starfire would do as he commanded. Retrieve this girl. As Starfire looked over the image. Starfire didn't know much about this, not that her mind could overly recall. Nightwing usually dealt with the issues of Bludhaven and Starfire just helped when she could. He informed her in most things, but she wasn't in the thrust of them daily as he was. Especially not what was in Gotham. Starfire had enough in New York wot face with the Titans. Starfire just didn't focus on things like a human. Mostly she didn't plan so much either. She would just do it. Just as it seemed now in Crane's plan to get his girl back, Starfire would do it, she didn't question it so much, she hadn't a great deal of choice. As her eyes looked through the darkness of the sewer, before catching his next words. The Penguin? As well controlled Crane had over her. How was she supposed to know where this Penguin was. Starfire was sure she had heard the name, but at this rate she had heard plenty. Then in his added demand in his quest, Starfire half tilted her head at him and the expression in his eyes, that was barely a glimpse, but Starfire knew emotions. No matter how controlled he had over her. Only it was a question whether or not Crane knew it or not. Starfire smiled. The chuckle inside her mind, oddly found itself way into relatedly ever so slightly. In no way of laughing at him, but in a way she more than understood.
"Yes, I understand. I will do as you command… But… I do not know who or where this Penguin is?… You care about her!"
Starfire spoke up in response, in him giving her permission to speak and her eyes upon him assured him she knew her place. Whether or not it was by her will. He was in command. Somewhere in her mild she was churning at the realisation he was the one ruling her. Something she was born to do and something she had learned she never wanted. Looking upon him. Knowing that Koriand'r meant little to him. She was barely Starfire to him, he didn't even know what that meant. Starfire paused a little before expressing her concerns that she didn't understand where Penguin was let alone knowing who he was, that seemed a natural enquiry as oddly as it also seemed… With another pause before Kory expressed her thought or at least what she could. As controlled as she was, she still wasn't human. She was born with wearing her emotions on her sleeves, it wasn't going to be easy to be rid of. As her eyes looked into his as she said it, not asking. There was no need. As Starfire almost felt a comfort in where she was, in chains and her back against the wall where she sat. It was unnatural… Starfire as looked to him. He was so adamant in retrieving this woman, by any means necessary, or so it would seem. The fact Starfire was here was a clue, she looked to him knowingly. Crane knew. She knew. That as he was attempting this. That Dick Grayson would go to great lengths to get Starfire back. Or Nightwing as he would know him better as, but Koriand'r knew who would truly come. Even it could seem doubtful in the dark cold cell in her mind, with very little ways of even a hand reaching for her and all who she could see was him. The one who commanded Starfire.

The last thing on Dr. Cranes mind was Nightwing. Before he had obtained Starfire he was the first thing on his mind, but for right now there was no reason to even give him a second thought. The boy was lost and he would remain lost for some time to Dr. Crane motives. Yes, he expected retaliation, but he was the furthest thing from fearing it. Let the boy come, he welcomed it. Right now, there was only one man he was interested in and one motive to find the man and destroy him.
It had been such a convenient set back in his plans for all of this to happen, but this is exactly why he planned loosely. The pompous fat…bird… was going to get what was coming to him after all he had done. He thought he knew what fear was, but he had just barely begun to scratch the surface of what it was. He should have stayed out of this, let the money he had lost go and just watched as his paper turned into something far more important. But no….He couldn’t just let that happen. The Penguin’s hand wasn’t the only one in this that decided to slow him down. As the thought came to Dr. Crane’s mind he tried to hold back any anger that could have flooded into his eyes. He would still get him back for that.
But that would be for another night and another plan that needed to be put back into effect. It had been running stale for too long, but right now there were more pressing matters at hand. After he was sure that Starfire had studied the picture he turned it back around and let himself see it. It was one of her old pictures, possibly taken in a simpler time for her. It was taken in a time where she was still so blind to the world and before she was tossed into a world that was blindingly clear. He studied the picture for a few moments as Starfire spoke; the picture didn’t do her very much justice as the black and white covered the fire in her hair.
His eyes snapped back up to Starfire’s and focused again on her green eyes. It wasn’t surprising that she didn’t know who Penguin was, by his standard he wasn’t a very important man, even to the Professional world. There was always someone else willing to trade, but even Dr. Crane had succumbed to The Penguins pocket at one point. That part he would omit from his thoughts. He put the small piece of newspaper clipping back into the right spot in his coat and sighed as the word ‘care’ left her mouth.
Care, a burdened state of mind, as that arising from heavy responsibilities. It was more easily defined as worry which made perfect sense in the long run but humans always tried to sprinkle half-truths on their definitions or cover their true meaning up entirely. There was no ‘care’ in his mind or any part of the situation that he was put in. Care was a terrible word to define what he thought of her and he wouldn’t have this vigilante thinking otherwise. “Care is a false word” He simply stated and left it there. It was enough to tell her what he needed to about it and enough for her to understand.
His mind traveled back to the business that needed to be dealt with and he stood up from his crouched position. Starfire would most likely stay there, having a collar around her neck that was chained. He walked over to a small steel table on the side and grabbed a small rolled up piece of paper. Being careful not to bend it he slowly walked it back to her and laid it on the floor in front of her. It was a map of Gotham. Dr. Crane traced his fingers around it slowly from where they were until he stopped on a familiar building to him, one that ignited a fire behind his eyes. “This is the building we are going to. The Iceburg Lounge.” He paused and circled it, drawing an imaginary line with his finger. “The place will be leveled if it has to be, the number of causalities doesn’t matter.” He thought to himself for a moment, it was a terrible waist…But it had to be done. “Your job is to find Penguin subdue him and bring him to me in the lounge, I will be there as well. I want him alive… and I want him awake” His voice bit at the end. What use was he to him, if he couldn’t scream?

There was that still chill in the air. In the space within the darken sewers. Within the cool space in her mind, that seemed just as much restrained as her limbs. Her entire body felt it physically. With her fiery hair with still power, but just not with as much of her initial spark. That reflection of the true fire. The true fire inside, but it would always be there. Somewhere! As the eyes of Starfire lingered in odd spaces within the dark corners in the sewer. As if some jaded image popped out that only she could obtain, but to simply give in and step completely out of sight. Out of mind. Would be one step to far. Besides the fact Starfire felt little to no control to herself. In body she felt comfortable. This was calm and even to a portion of her mind. Quite calm. Perhaps it was adding to the fact she didn't breathe that added to her calming state. Anything and everything that ran into her mind or she was feeling, it ceased to exist anywhere near her sleeves.
Only that Starfire was overly open to beside his presence was the very subtle trickling sound. Keeping her in place. As her green eyes did follow him. Not much in great thought. He just had her attention. He was why she was here. Or part of it… He had overcome her in ways she normally could fight off, but in some way he had got in her head. Found switches. Starfire hadn't fought it. Even so much as resting her back more against the stone built wall behind her. In watching him. Starfire could pick up the hint of anger. He did have emotions. Many darkened emotions Starfire could sense and that initial pull he had over her, had some feel to comfort him or least reach out. Understand. Because just as she assumed he wasn't. Starfire was also not exactly of this world, but she knew emotions. Most of the time. Even under his control, he just couldn't. Not completely control the fact she was tamaranean. There was an interest of his anger… Starfire tilted her head a little to the side to take a look over him, between the liquid strands of her red hair falling in and around her eyes. Why wouldn't he let it out? There was so much there and yet so much he was hiding. Whether from her. Another or even himself entirely. But in her thoughts she didn't will to speak. Just drawn of course. There was little will to fight it. Any of it.
At a time of the picture, he held up. He wasn't quick in retracting it and Starfire's green eyes locked at the picture. Soaking the image in, she may not know who this girl was or why or how, Starfire was his reason to find her and save her, but Starfire had no choice but to do as he asked. This girl for whatever reason was important to him, which in even in his sigh and simple look upon her. Didn't really sway her call on the care part. To care covered a lot. Remaining still in her seat. Starfire did manage a hint of a smile as she could almost feel him thinking it over. Her eyes had only fallen a short time. To where is questionable, but she soon returned. As if seeing something new in his eyes at his words. Simplicity. So no? Starfire looked to him curiously.
"Is it?"
Starfire questioned lightly with a soft movement of her lips. With her eyes tracing him with a little intent, but she hadn't questioned him directly. A little speaking her thoughts out loud. Remaining in her still position with her fingers gripping a little at the edge of her seating. There was little will swirling where she sat. In a position Starfire hadn't been in a very long time and yet it suddenly didn't seem it was so long ago. Isolated save by one. As the green eyes looked upon him. Just inches away. At her feet. Somewhere lashing out was only a concept. As the green eyes watched. Followed his movements. He had her full attention. As Scarecrow returned and unfolded the map at her feet. Gotham? Starfire eyed the map and then Scarecrow. Was he under the impression she knew Gotham that well? She was sure she recalled one of the buildings on the map at his finger as he slowly traced. Circling the destination. Starfire nodded. Naturally. She knew of the lounge. Starfire was sure she had aided Nightwing there. At least once. It seemed so distant and her remembering wasn't always as direct as a human, but they were there. Always somewhere. As within she trailed off with soothing sound of laughter and cheers. With extra curl at the side of her lips. As if flashes came and went. Eyes steadied upon Scarecrow, but it was questionable how much was truly taking him in. Beside that natural pull he now claimed. A frown came at her eyes at he proclaimed the unimportance of any causalities. Now she was not one entirely against crossing that line when she felt it was right, but to just destroy life without proper reason. Was just not something she would do so easily, but at his word. The hold she had little control… Her eyes pained went back to where he had circled with his finger. Felt some form of flames in her belly. She knew it was wrong, but she also felt prepared to do it. As she keyed in to hear what he had planned for her. With this penguin. Not kill! Just bring him to Scarecrow. It seemed more simple than she was sure he was making it sound, but at the end of the day she was still Starfire. With her powers and abilities in tact.
"It will be done. I will not fail you, master!"
With the directness of her eyes upon Scarecrow. Starfire accepted, not that she had a great deal of choice in the matter, but she would do it. Remaining for a moment in her seating at the chilled wall within the darken sewers and yet all now she focused on was Scarecrow. As well as her task. The word of master fell oddly to simple from her lips, that somewhere deep within she wasn't overly comfortable with it, but it wasn't enough to scare her deep down. It was just a title, right? This questioned whilst sitting before him and her limbs tugged at the chains. There was little use of her if she remained here. With a little more tug and change of the metal. It took average amount as Starfire with a little extra burst of strength, she pulled the chains from where they linked into the wall. One by one. The cuffs dangled at her wrists. Which Starfire then undid them or least found a way. Naturally. Then frowning mildly as she went to move, but the chain at her neck gave a tug. Starfire had almost forgotten and with her hands she pulled at the chains. Soon falling at and around her feet with a mild clang. Free. At least physically. Rising to her feet before Scarecrow.
"Shall I take us?"
Reaching out her orange toned hand before the Scarecrow as she asked basically if she would fly them. Now? Least Starfire assumed he wanted this done sooner than later. Barely looking for the way out. She was sure to make one if required. There was that question. Not fear. Was this all he had planned for Starfire or was there more? Somehow simply letting her go, seemed highly unlikely, but when was she ever the vengeful type?

What was so strange about understanding your own emotions and acting on them? Everything. There was no point in acting upon useless emotions that were there to cover up something much more deep seeded and deep rooted. The fear in all men. But this wasn’t the case in him. His situation was entirely different and this job that he needed executed was far from anything that this vessel he had collected could ever understand. Right now she was an empty nothingness, she was his and she was there to do as he willed to do. This was what he willed, laid out on the ground before them, and she would carry it out.
When she questioned him his eyes narrowed for a moment, coming out of the dark world they had slipped into. She had no reason to question his work or his method. But he could tell from the look in her eyes that the serum was still working perfectly. The fact that she questioned it at all intrigued him, some of her traits still coming through even though it was flowing through her body. She certainly had a strong will to remain blind to the world around her. But for the moment Dr. Crane could keep her eyes open and let her see the world for how it was.
He knew that eventually Nightwing would come for her. He would try to take his weakness back as he believed himself to be lost without it. It was a fear that he would be alone without her, choosing her as the single person to bring himself weighted to the world and give him a false purpose. This is why he would fail in his endeavor. Dr. Crane possessed no weakness of the like, and if anyone wanted to challenge him on that fact with VerMillion….They simply didn’t understand. It was an entirely different situation.
But instead of questioning anything further and without any further explanation he nodded. It was time to leave and he didn’t owe her any explanation to why those things simply failed to exists. She would see son enough when her Nightwing came for her and failed to save her. She would learn the harsh truth of the world and what exactly it takes to break a weakened vigilante such as himself, even at her own hands. Dr. Crane stood and prepared himself, he grabbed a few items from the floor and rolled up the map, slipping it into his jacket. He was ready to go and now the Penguin was going to find out what the true meaning of fear was.

There was that settling feeling. The questions of. Who am I? Why am I here? What does this all mean? Naturally of course… Trying to weave in and twist something out of her, which she just didn't have. Even if she had, it was for her to overcome… If she could was a totally different question. For a different time and place… There were no questions of whether she could survive this. In some way. Somehow, the princess of Tamaran always found a way. Like many had spoken before: Where there was a will… There was a way. Perhaps not straight forward. Starfire could almost hear the sound of her own amusing laugh. With faint look of her surroundings. The dark sewer, physically she couldn't quite know which way was out if she was to even break through… That really wasn't the positive mental attitude, no… But Starfire had little choice, but to go on the ride. Find a penguin and find a damsel? With very seedy individual, it was hardly playing the realm of the truly unusual. There was determination and he was very sure… Sure he was right, but Starfire couldn't help than see though he had strengthen himself with this assurance, he was also limiting himself… From himself. What was so bad that even he was scared to look inside? This was as Starfire looked through her empty shell and yet she still felt things, he wouldn't allow… Somehow the smile inside grew to the surface. Not that he'd know why she was suddenly smiling… He didn't know Starfire…
As casually she saw his narrowed eyes, but it didn't so much trickle a nerve, just a little plain to see. For someone that didn't do emotions, sure reacted. There could be worse masters, least this wouldn't be dull. As Starfire looked over him with glazed eyes, with just the mild green natural glow… After all she wasn't human. Eyes of course had eventually settled upon the map. The part of her mind and self she couldn't control, but she was aware of it. Most of it. There was this option or slip into a dream… Hopefully the happier kind of dancing around in circled upon a sunny beach. Crashing waves. Peaceful sounds. Hmmm, paradise could be close, but that paradise could only be fun for so long. As soon the mission was set, felt the pinch of broken metal. Freedom, yet still caged from the inside. Starfire didn't so easily run… When fear was evoked, hiding went against everything she was. What ever it was he would have her do… Starfire would be there. Somewhere… For that even slightest chance… There was hope. Standing with a generous amount of height as her eyes moved between Scarecrow and the direction to leave… For some reason she naturally knew the way now, even if she didn't know how… Perhaps she'd make one… At this rate it didn't really matter. As she kindly awaited for her master. Feeling the pull. Admiration pull. He nodded… Flight.. How lovely she thought… Now it wasn't too far, but given her star like speed, it hardly ever was slow. As she watched him collect the requirements. The map of course. Plus a rather spiffy jacket, she smiled and politely played with the collar. To give it an extra touch… Perfection! Her eyes half beamed and smiled to him before the closed in space… Well got a little tighter.
As a hand pressed at the small of his back, feeling the tickle of his covered flesh upon her own rather bare torso. Up and away hardly covered it. As the little trace of dust skimmed off their boots. That is if Scarecrow was wearing boots. Right now Starfire's eyes were looking through the night, yet rather lit up city… X'hal! Gotham!… She had known for sure where they really were until now. Well, they were more than half way to their destination then… Lounge? Lounge? Starfire mumbled in her head as her contrail coiled around building with intense speed, controlled or otherwise. Starfire was born to fly. Ease. Even if she could bring to get so close to buildings. Accidents just rarely happened nowadays. It was usually the other guys fault anyways. Then she held dear the man who wasn't afraid of anything, let alone buildings… Now she didn't know all the street names, she knew the city more by sight. Feel. This was far more Nightwing's domain than her own, but spotting the specific bar they had more than once danced at, Starfire knew the Iceberg was close… An icy wonderland filled with birds that can't fly! Least that was her initial thinking. Closing in. The lounge now was in view. Or range!
"Were we thinking to go in with a subtle approach? Or more crash and burn?"
With the closing in distance. Starfire slowed in her flight speed as she kindly checked in with her master in regards to whether he wanted to walk in more casual or basically raise hell, which either way she had no problem with. She certainly had more fire to her tone, as if a little sign she was eager, least the side that was controlled it seemed. As she asked her eyes glowed and her free hand at the ready to bust through, but all a matter of how much chaos he wanted to create. Naturally she assumed she would be dropping him of in the lounge to then off of on the hunt, but she could only know how welcoming their presence would be…

Dr. Crane was never going to get used to this. His body stiffened as her hand came to his back. It was nesscary touch but completely unwanted. The moment they were off the ground his body relaxed some and they were soaring through the air. It was always harder for him being at this altitude, because he didn’t have much weight or girth to begin with, his body just didn’t hold up well in the air but he was going to bear it. The thought of being this far off the ground didn’t bother him at all.
He had something on his mind and he was determined to remove it.
They zoomed through each of the buildings but his body stayed stoic and close to hers to where she needed it. Aside from the obvious set back of crashing into a building slowing him down, the tight corners didn’t ignite anything in him aside from the fact that he was getting closer. Soon they were going to be there and just as the thought crossed his mind he spotted the lounge and pointed to it from her grasp. She had recognized the building from his description as well and before he knew it they were on the ground near.
He wanted to do so much more than what they were already planning but he knew this needed to be quick. That didn’t mean he wasn’t going to make a statement to anyone that followed however, the police were going to know, the Professionals were going to know and The Penguin and anyone that followed him was going to know tonight. Crash and burn was not his style, but tonight he was on a timer and the police would show up very shortly as soon as The Penguin caught wind of him being there. The only benefit the man had from being so rich with paper. He could buy anyone he wanted but tonight he wasn’t going to get what he desired. In fact, he was going to lose so much more.
Once they were settled he turned to her and thought to himself about exactly what he had laid out before. “Come with me.” He stated firmly and began to walk to the front door. The man at the front stopped him, but a sheer look and he was on the phone immediately to call the back. The Scarecrow walked right in with her. “Level the place…And bring me The Penguin” He turned to show her the elaborate portrait on the wall of his pompous self.

Poetry in motion. The more unsettling. Twisted kind. In somewhere inside Starfire was neither here or there. Coming and going if you were in dream like states. Memories. Coming back in a world she had very little control. Her body and mind taken over, but there was the very tiniest of bends. Little cracks if you will. In the flight. The closeness of the monster, as cold as he was. She felt warmth. Was it Starfire or her state of mind that drew admiration for him. The part he had taken a hold of… This 'sire bonding' if you will. Hooked, lined and slowly felt her insides twisted to his liking. No protest in the skies, but his reaction was mute. Eyes on another target. As the building skimmed by and they came more planted on the ground. Starfire didn't step so far. She remained close, this side of her. He was the only one in the world that mattered and even contemplating that for real. It pained her deeply. As if lives were lost. So much wanting to rip through and be. Instead Starfire was at Scarecrow's heels. Not just because he told her too. A smile came to her lips. Followed her master to the entrance of the giant ice castle or the next closest thing.
"X'HAL… Who are you? James Bond's evil twin?"
Starfire remarkably spoke to Scarecrow as they merely reached the door and in a matter of a glance. Seconds and a freaked out look from the man controlling the front, didn't stop them and called she assumed to warn others. Just as so the Scarecrow didn't hesitate and made his entrance. Walking right in. Much with a voice that was impressed, least a part of her was. Randomly Bond came at her tongue, not exactly understanding why, but Bond was rather dull than this evil counterpart. As her green eyes played upon him as she followed through. Looking around at the icy scenery. Frosty. As her hands gently rubbed her arms, but she was not going to get frost bitten despite her lack of coverage. Matter of feet Starfire stopped as suddenly Scarecrow stopped. Her eyes looking around. Was it something they said? As the glares came. Whispers. Nodded as he spoke. Curious look as Scarecrow gestured towards the portrait. Of the man she was supposed to target. The one he was in need of.
"You want me to remove the floors? Or I'm assuming people? You really don't like revealing your deck, do you?"
A delicate fiery eyebrow was raised as Starfire curiously questioned the Scarecrow. Of course not in anyway to say no… She was not in the mind frame to do so… All was YES! YES YES! Or there abbots. Though just as humans could, although it seemed more so with him. That he didn't speak so much and some of which seemed cryptic. For someone that didn't care, it felt he held a lot of this close to his chest or head if he was indeed heartless. Though with someone that took such time and precision as he, was he really without a heart. Even if it was black as coal. It would explain the initial warmth. As Starfire looked to him a little confused. Having recalled he had mentioned the place would have levels, perhaps unlike humans he actually said what he meant. As Starfire then questioned with a hint of a smile as she assumed she guessed right, he meant level the place with bodies if they got in the way. He may will her to as she wish and she was less able to question it, she was short of one thing. Reading his mind. She could only think so much as a human, before at the end of the day she simply wasn't. Remaining close as she curiously asked him about the 'cards' he played with, so from what she knew of how humans spoke. Her fingers lightly motioned at his arm. Pulling lightly at the lose threads in the fabric. Not that she minded the secrets… Nor was she overly minding him.
" It shouldn't be too hard to find the Penguin… Or maybe he'll find us!"
In the more serious tone. Much of such saying, Yes sire. Yes Master. She was at a lose of what actually to call him. Though eyeing the portrait, it would be hard to miss him. As her green eyes looked through the lounge. Hard to say how exactly busy it was, having not come inside enough to compare to other nights, but it seemed enough people. Not crowded by any means. Was this Penguin in open plains or hidden somewhere behind closed doors. Going through all doors, might lead to, too many circles. Not that she didn't have the power to do so… But perhaps, there was a way to lure the featherless bird out, with just a little persuasion. There was already eyes upon them. Starfire wasn't new to them, but it was seemingly different. Smiling curiously, not that she ultimately had any great plan. She didn't always work like that. Spur of the moment. Her arm motioned to link at the Scarecrows arm, not a great deal of affections, but it was going to work better. With the image of working together than he simply took her by a leash. Already suspicion was peaked. Why would Starfire be walking in the Icy lounge with someone her kind were supposed to put in the ground? More or less, she was hoping they were asking. In the back of her mind. Attention was power… First thing first. If he had given her free reign in how to do this. Perhaps start of slow, she could always pick up the heat in many different directions. Literally the force to be reckoned with. As if in the wildest nights. The monster looked up in the skies and brought down to Earth the brightest star. Beautiful and lethal. From something, Starfire expected the bar would be usually a start. To ask questions. Make demands. Correct? Although this was playing in more of the unusual films.
"Greetings… I'm hoping you can help us? "
Bubbly enough as many would suggest is Starfire. Least when she's not ticked off, of course. As she leant a little against the bar. Noting it was a little cooler than most bars, not that she often visited them. Catching the bartenders attention wasn't hard. Was he mostly fearing the wrath of the man at her side or both? As Starfire went about this more subtly. Gentler. Sometimes politeness made it easier than simply shaking her fist and demanding of it. Plus He hadn't really set out how to go about it, so Starfire was just going by feel for now. As she kept a kind enough demeanour. The bartender nodded in between looking between scared and confused. Surprised as he prepped up curiosity as too why Starfire was with the Scarecrow. O all people. Much the question on everyones lips in this room if not most of Gotham. Starfire enlighten a intended smile as her eyes wondrously looked from the man to the Scarecrow beside her. Her arm at his, lightly showed a simple gesture of affection.
"What can i say, he made a very becoming proposal!"
Her other hand came to rest upon his arm with simple caress. To best put forward the suggestion as Kory lightly shrugged her shoulders and mention proposal. The initial gasps came from a few people that were near. Those that hadn't run for the door that is. Perhaps in shock of why they were together. Of course proposal was open, could simply mean an alliance. That basically yes, she was with him. Although hardly understanding it herself given the control, she didn't just come out and say exactly why… Plus a little inside, she peaked at the nearing interest. Gotham could soon spread of the marriage across the city. Not that Starfire was trying anything, but certainly it would reach everyone. Including Nightwing. A trail so to speak. Of course the part that was controlled was drawn to Scarecrow, to it wasn't hard to play on that. The bartender was as shocked as he should be… Maybe more fearful, but questionably asked why… How? What could she possibly see in the monster? Smiling sweetly to the man, before smiling at her companion, apparently.
"What's not to like? He is everything too me..."
There was no will in her state to dislike him. Couldn't will any protest if she wanted too… Least not yet. There was little hints of any lies on her tongue as the part controlled. It was true. He was everything to her. All she saw. Listened to.. Though of course deep in her mind, her real self was slipping back and forth. Half the time feeling like she was hanging by a thread, but she had survived before. She always could again. Leaning in as if to express more affections. Her hand motioned to his chin sweetly. Playfully closing in with her head against his shoulder. As if he was the warmest man alive and only she could see it. That no one could convince her otherwise. Much couldn't be said as her heart didn't so thud for him. More mute. The man was defiantly blinking at this point. Before getting back to why they were here. Business.
"Though there is some loose ends to take care of. I'm thinking a wintery theme, perhaps if you could, we'd very much like an audience... With this, cute chubby Penguin, fellow... I can be very demanding, so this would just be easier…"
As Starfire turned back to the bartender. Pulling back enough from any affections, its not as if Scarecrow was wanting them, but she believed it was helping them… As Starfire mentioned loose ends. Why, well that really wasn't his business. Springing out of tongue that she maybe interested in a winter them, given the rumours that had just started. That seemed a coy way of asking to see Penguin, but of course easy enough to know that wasn't why. Just being kind about it now and ok, partially she was playing with it. Because much of this, she didn't completely understand and she was just winging it, basically. Kindly asking with a warm enough smile as her hand gestured to the image of the featherless 'friend' was he a friend? She really didn't know what he was to her, let alone Scarecrow. Only knowing he was in need of him and that she had too find a way to make it happen. With a suggested nervous playing laugh of her demanding ways, in a little way lightly threatening him if it wouldn't come to pass, but it seemingly was a go. As he motioned for a phone just a little behind the bar. Though she could hear enough of what was said. She frowned as she heard him mention getting security up here and Starfire had left her seat. Potentially leaving Scarecrow as well...
"Oh no… Now that just won't do, I was trying to be nice about it. Don't think i cannot deal with them as I can deal with you. Send a hundred, it won't matter. Do you really want me to make a scene. I can tear this place part… I'm not leaving until I get what we came for? I can assure you of that!"
Came the harsher. More Aggressive side and tone of Starfire. As her orange firm hand came swiftly at the man's throat. Wrapping fingers tightly and squeezed, enough it would hurt. Cause a struggle and the fearful look of the man's eyes. That through her gesturing ways, kind remarked and playful banter. She wasn't bluffing. She could bring the fire and more. They were merely human. When put against her strength and abilities. As well as the intended target in mind. As her words came shift and direct. Enough he got her threat. Loosening her grip as he nodded. Was coming around and he expressed it upon the phone to his ear. That they best bring what she came for or she'll find a way. Stepping back and letting go. Before returning to the other side of the bar. With a more content look on her face again. Not that she would want to wait for a long time. How patient would her master be? Though it seemed to be falling into place so far, hard to say until the bird fellow at placed before their feet.
"Gratitude… That wasn't so hard… Do you have any ice cream cake? May I, hon?"
For momentarily Starfire took a seat and thanked the man as he finished the call. That sounded more in tune to what she had demanded and expected. Was her princess side coming out a little? Maybe… Least so far there was no body count. She'd see how that would fair, for now it seemed to be working in her favour. The bartender said someone should be here soon. Whether Penguin would come to them or be led. She could only assume they'd be in contact very, very soon. Asked if there was anything else they needed, before he may actually blow his head off. Starfire looked around more civilly. Before somehow asking if there was any Ice cream cake. From the looks of the icy place and she couldn't account to the last time she ate. It might be a long wait for another time and from the looks, it could be on the house. Who could turn down free ice cream cake? She kindly asked with a smile and he nodded. Turning to bring her some cake, as she waited for the time being. Of course, not before turning to the Scarecrow, to see if he cared if she ate or not? Not that she couldn't share. Smiling and winked him playfully. Before a plate of ice cream cake was placed before her shortly. Of course as Starfire dug a spoon through the cake, she politely motioned the spoon to Scarecrow as a gesture of sorts. Just adding to the curious looks bouncing nearby.

Post by Oswald Cobblepot - The Penguin on Apr 25, 2013 15:10:16 GMT -5
The day at the lounge had up to that point been fairly uneventful. The usual crowds of the rich and the criminal drinking their money away, separated by mere soundproof walls and Oswald's will. Business had been continuing smoothly, only three people had been beaten bloody in the back and no one had resisted blackmail so far. Jonathan wasn't even on Oswald's mind, there were so many lose ends to tie up in all sort of deals he simply didn't have the time to constantly worry about the Scarecrow's insanity.
How things can change with a simple phone call.
As the uncomfortable guard on the front desk made his call to the security room everything rolled into action. The Scarecrow had entered the front of the lounge with a mystery weird looking woman and been heard telling her to level the place and bring him the boss.
The only reaction from the rich milling about the main room of the lounge seems to be a few mutters, wondering if it's some sort of entertainment or whether the riff raff have gotten in again. The atmosphere within security is very different.
The first question is of course who is the woman and what can she do that makes Crane think she can take on the lounge. Usually being located in Blüdhaven is the only thing that prevents an immediate match but while Oswald and his men are far more well versed in the heroes of Gotham information is their business. Her unusual appearance narrows things considerably and seconds later the alarm sounds in the back. As the criminals disappear like rats out the back door and men arm up behind closed doors all still seems calm and peaceful in the front with Crane, Kory and the high society. Thanks to the sound proofing the rich are left to fend for themselves. Oswald has little interest in protecting the majority of them, or showing them that he has the man and fire power to do so.
High above on the top floor Cobblepot is also made aware of the potential problem as the alarm goes off and moments later his phone rings with an explanation. His face pales as the situation below is revealed. Crane has come looking for revenge and somehow gotten himself a super human hero to order around. He wishes he knew more of Starfire and her powers, a weakness or two would be nice! All they really knew was she could fly, was strong and could create some sort of energy projectile. She was on the 'dangerous, do not engage' list and so far hadn't gotten in Oswald's way to need any further research. She may require it now but it was hardly the time for investigation. As far as Oswald was concerned he was more interested in slipping out the back with the rats.
"Call Calvor" He quickly snapped back on the phone as he slipped out the hidden door in his office and started opening cages with a few quick squawks. If the place was going to be levelled he had to get his birds out first "Get the police to deal with it" Calvor was a bent cop, dependable for rolling out a few swat teams and not using it as a chance to investigate what might be going on around the club. He may as well throw the police into the situation and save his own men.
As the barman was calling, hoping for help Oswald was already halfway down the back stairs with a small flock of the birds of prey he'd been keeping at the lounge so they wouldn't disturb some breeding pairs. Trying not to trip over his vulture and holding his hat on so a kestrel wouldn't fall off it he keeps growling orders over the phone "Stall them. If they try to get into the back shoot them...We don't know! That's the problem. Maybe a few hundred bullets will kill her anyway" At the very least he's hoping it'll slow them down enough for him to get away from the area.
Yes the threat to destroy the lounge was serious and he might lose a lot of men. He'd certainly have to make Crane pay for all that but first he had to live long enough to plan his revenge. If the lounge was destroyed he could rebuild, if he lost men he could recruit. He was more important than all that.
Security told the barman that someone would be on their way and slowly, as he stood there uncomfortably serving cake, he was left to wonder if that was a lie for no one came.

Post by Jonathan Crane - Scarecrow on Jun 14, 2013 15:31:41 GMT -5
Dr. Crane took a deep breath, inhaling the anxiety of the room. The front desk panicked and at the sudden movement people began to look up. He saw several familiar faces. The stark blind of high society that came to the iceberg looking for their social satisfaction only drew themselves closer to the truth that they denied. As he stood their they were all reminded of exactly why they were in their seats, watching the stage unfold in front of them. Just standing there, on the level higher than the rest he could see them fidget and twist in their seats. They were expecting someone to save them. Fortunately for them Dr. Crane was not out for blood, but unfortunate accidents do happen and that is out of his control. Their fears would drive them to do as they should in this moment.
As he was just basking in the moment he heard the annoying question from his left. She hadn’t left his side and hadn’t moved to do what he asked. Instead she was standing here asking ridiculous questions. The moment of ecstasy that was in his lungs had now left and been replaced with a dark annoyance. For a moment it was comparable to Miss Quinn’s unbearable questioning. She was just a child, and more bearable than some of the professionals he had met. But it was one blind sheep he was never going to kidnap again. “Do what I said…” The doctor refused to say anything else. It didn’t matter what else happened to the place around and people around as long as he destroyed it and brought him the penguin. The directions were simple enough and he didn’t need to explain himself further.
Many believed that Dr. Crane didn’t have a heart, in fact some believed he didn’t even have a heart beat with how cold he could be. His emotionless demeanor baffled even the most practiced doctors, to the point to where they tried to make up some kind of disease that they knew he didn’t have. Some went on to say that his emotions were suppressed by some trauma or simply because he was a sociopath through and through. His lack of empathy defined him in their terms as nearly inhuman for he lacked the one component in their eyes that made a human, compassion. They were all ignorant, absurd to take such notions. It wasn’t his lack of, it was their lack of. The truth of the matter was compassion didn’t exist.
Dr. Crane came forward with her as she asked the question to the bartender. What was she doing? With her follow up statement his arm came off of her completely. He wasn’t going to be her escort through what she needed to do, especially in that tone. His eyes were quickly drawn away from her however as the look from the bartender caught his eyes. He was quaking with his fingers over a call button. He was ready to panic and this was enough to draw him from Starfire. But just as he thought the man might break Starfire was at it again trying to charm him otherwise. But the moment the boy got bold she picked up her tone with him. The doctor almost smiled as she started to light with her own fears. He needed her to embrace what she needed to do here, and follow his words. The man behind the counter complied, without a panic unfortunately. Dr. Crane was almost disappointed….but he knew he would get what he came for…
His hand slowly circled around the counter as he stared at the frightened man. It was only a matter of time before the entire place was in a symphony of screams. His eyes fell back upon Starfire when she was brought her ice-cream. The silky smell of cream hit his nose and made his stomach turn. He offered her no word and no amount of disgust, only that he clearly wasn’t interested. He turned and watched the people staring at them. He knew that the boy had already been informed. Dr. Crane gave it 30 seconds before he suddenly turned to Starfire and snatched her jaw. “Go into the back through those doors…and Bring me the penguin…I don’t care how you find him while your back there…Just do it…and Do it now… “His voice got course with her and his body began to shake. He felt a pull beyond measure inside of him.
Dr. Crane stood up from the bar and got on top of it. He was already beginning to cause a spectacle as he got to the top and pulled out his mask. Only he could hear the click and then the pop from his fans, indicating that both the voice masker and air ventilation were on before he slid it over his head. The people in tables around them were slowly beginning to get up, but it was too late. Dr. Crane reached into his pocket and pulled out two cylinders which he popped and threw into the crowd.
The screams were already beginning to fill his ears. The scarecrow stepped up to the edge of the rail on top of the stage above and extended his arms. “High…Society of Gotham…. Fear….. Has come… TO DELIVER YOU” The mask bellowed from its distortion and cracked over into a menacingly unstable laughter.

Paradise. The way the red sun streaked down during the setting down part of the day. Playing like beautiful coloured ripples on the ocean's horizon. Expanded. Made this paradise planet, purely what what it was. Wonderful. As waves crashed and lapped at the sandy shore. Koriand'r. Princess of tamaran, with her tiny orange hands was building cities. Not exactly stable. There was defiantly the risk of tidal waves or flooding. Perhaps an old city from Tamaran or Rann. Whilst her friend. Also her guard assisted. With full conversation. Joyous was always the key in such a place. It wasn't new hearing she was loved. Adored. Special. She was born to be queen. Many make the assumption that it wasn't very old, in fact Tamaran was. Its history expanded more centuries than Earth and it had been almost a 100 years since Tamaran was protected by a queen. Koriand'r was born like a sun. What did a sun do? It drew people in, with warmth and naturally koriand'r could do just that… Though there were some that would take precaution. As if swallow moment. Maybe minutes. Maybe hours. maybe years. As blackness took the horizon and was swarming up the sandy beaches. Her green eyes confused…. Shocked. Somehow this was playing out too quickly. Tamaran was supposed to be peaceful. Everything felt like it was being pulled. Swallowed. Changing.
With speed building. As Koriand'r shot through space itself. Dark. Of course. With alluding suns in the distance surrounding. Otherwise it was quite black. Still. In the leading ahead. Meteors. Lumps of rocks. Some small. Some larger. Something trying to create some barrier. Possibly a threat. Fist heated and strong, busted through. A lengthly contrail of swirling fire cascaded from behind, flickering wildly from the energy source. Just as the tamaranean was moving closer. With the shear weight in body. As if closer to the fireworks, inner fireworks, but she was capable that and much more. Hope had driven her. Freedom was always at the other end… A restraint came. Pulling her arms back. Pulling her back. Like cold hard shackles. Formed in an metal worthy of her kind… Made for her. Felt the muscles in her shoulders resist. Put up some way of a fight. It was little use, but she could try even if every joint was dislocated. The burning pain, only added to the fire. Dragged against hard rocky ground. With the smell of death lingering in the air. Mechanics and brutality at hand. Until Koriand'r was dragged. Flung back into the black room. The place they would try to convince was her home. Back hit the familiar wall. For all she knew it could be a different wall every time. It just didn't leave with her feeling any different. Her torn, burnt, tortured and broken body slid to the floor. This was not giving up… There would be a time and a place. Heavy head of messed up red locks, mixed in with the stench of blood. Energy. Lifted her gaze. Nothing, but her eyes gazed onwards. What ever it was, that was in the darkness with her. Hope would always guide her.
"Yes, Master!"
Still. Chilled. It echoed out of her mouth. Whether trying to let it now take hold and yet trying to latch on to something. Was there little else, than this? As green eyes escaped the doctor. A doctor that didn't come, when one put a finger on the 911 button. What use was there in trying? With the slight recoiling nod his puppet gave. With a subtle movement to her lips, but it was no way near the light of Starfire. Truly going in the Ice Lounge with full power, it wouldn't of ended well for anybody… He took control of a weapon, he very much didn't understand and if he was merely seeing the annoying act… Well, he needed to be careful what he asked. How much he pulled. The sun could be very much destructive, but Starfire alone with her true full power. Would include destroying this planet. There would be no penguin… There be no Crane. Simply going in a little 'so called' subtle, was protecting what he had asked… Whether he cared enough in the details. It was not hard… Most defiantly not hard in picking the momentum up. The doctor was capable of emitting fear from the darkest depths of humanity. Starfire could cause her own fear from something more warm. Of course there is also the aggressive side. Whether heart filled or heartless. Starfire was linked to the master in straw. Arm in arm… Well, almost a wizard of oz moment… This scarecrow was more likely to trip her down the aisle. Not give compassion. Love. Security. Emotions. Nope. Mostly just the empty shell of something long forgotten and yet was balanced at the edge of a knife. Was he trying to claim it back or dangle it before others in spite. Make them guilty. As the pair found the bar and Starfire found a lead in a bartender. With the subtle gestured. If folk weren't in fear. In shock. Riddle them with emotion and make them sing… Whisper. It really didn't matter.
Finally getting some progress. As the sweet smell of crystallising milk in some form of a cake was place before on on the table. It was layered with chocolate ice cream. not just vanilla. Bits of biscuits by the looks. As with a spoon, Starfire lightly played with it. It was after all so well crafted. She was feeling the hunger pains. Slowly fed herself. Whether she was aware of the surrounding people reacting in such a manor before the big bad cowboy had stumbled into the bar. Not that Starfire was really trying to imagine him as a cowboy… He did have quite nice eyes, though. Her eyes took his reaction to the ice cream… Disinterest? Well, he was possibly tempting to create the end of the world. Or least the end of someones world… More focused than a hummingbird? Not that goes with saying, Starfire would be doing anything that she was currently doing.
"X'hal, you don't like ice cream? I hear there is lactose free ice cream!"
Starfire in passing questioned her master. Not distracting the plan, in fact it all seemed to be going well… What was Crane really afraid of? That she couldn't get it done? She wasn't afraid. They could send out as many men as they could or women or creatures. She wasn't much of a warrior princess if she backed down from a fight, but she was trained not to just start one unless required. There wouldn't be much point. Though of course the collar at her neck, could defiantly sway what she knew and would do. At the mentioning of lactose free ice cream. The bartender did say he could bring him lactose free ice-cream. In which Starfire smiled lightly to the boss. Before his hand came at her chin. Bold move. If she wanted too, she could melt his fingers until they broke off like ash. Dropped the spoon and swallowed what was left… Her green eyes met with his. Felt the tone. Heard the command. A sharp extra sensation at her neck. Like someone tightening the leash. Pretty much asking for the dog to attack or perhaps more like a dragon to breath fire.
"Destruction would be my pleasure!"
There was no pull. No ways trying to escape the hold, the scarecrow had. The doctor. Who ever the master was to her… Starfire would do as commanded and as with the tone of her voice… She would given him a show, not that it had anything to do with planning. Letting go mostly. Her hand motioned at his. To trace the cold outlines of his fingers, with the evident of hers without he fire at her fingertips. Not with any essence because he cared or she cared. This is what he wanted. As the hand traced up his hand, before removing and trailed at his jaw line. As if almost Starfire could have a wicked bone in her body. In not entirely a flash, her touch was gone… Starfire was gone. Left the seating and took in flight. Heading for the door as was instructed. Of course there had to be some level of a challenge… As men, swarmed the door… Armed, apparently. As bullets flung at her body. Hitting her like stones skipping on a river, just not hitting deeper than the surface. As the tamaranean eyes glowed bright green. Her hair like a wild fire around and her skin glowed like the heat of the sun. Diving in as she took the men out in various warrior style fashion… Maybe even a little what Nightwing had taught her. Leaving bodies limp or possibly in worsened states. Screams. Cries. Broken bones. Blood curdling. Last with a throat in her grasp and tossed like a banana peel. Left with a gun in her hand. Well, maybe something more human… Pointed the gun at the door. It generally seemed impressive in movies. It left rather unimpressive holes in the door. With a little fiddling, Starfire tossed the gun as well, hitting someone in the head no doubt. Before the starbolts filled in her grasp and projected them through the door. Eliminating it completely and parts of the wall it was attached. Plaster and vague pieces crumbled. It shook the lounge, but not enough for an earth quake, least not yet, but if it kept going this way. Starfire would tear this place down to get what was needed. As Starfire wasted no time in diving through the crater she had just made. Taking down anything put in front of her. Possibly grabbing a guy. Insisting he tell her where Penguin is, otherwise she would take the lounge down around them until her hands were upon him. As glowing eyes were on target. The tamaranean ready to leave the destruction laid out before and around her.

The displeased chatter among the customers in the lounge began to grow louder as Crane addressed them, a few even laughed, thinking it was some sort of show. The smarter and more in touch with the city's problems were already getting their cars brought round by the valet, only the foolish stuck around when one of Gotham's rogues started making obvious public appearances.
For the sake of keeping their obedience very few of the guards truly knew what they were up against. If they knew it was a super alien who couldn't be harmed by their bullets they would have been far less keen to stay by the doorway. As hell breaks out around Starfire the last of the customers begin to react, the screams begin as people run for the doors or hide behind tables, seeking cover. The majority of the staff were already retreating to more secure locations as the doors were blown and several of the guards from the doorway left alive were following suit after they saw that happened to the others. The captured have no idea where their boss is and can only babble nervously about his office at the very top of the building, hoping the information will spare their lives. The gun fire didn't end tough, further down the corridor the group that was supposed to be back up already opens fire, though a few are already beginning to run for it. One of the barstaff meanwhile pokes back out of hiding behind the bar to take a few pot shots at the Scarecrow, figuring him the easier target.
Cobblepot has long left his office though, the hidden back stairs in the lounge providing him with a direct route down to the car park where he quickly finds his head goon Mike already looking for him. Oswald wastes no time, he can already hear the commotion of people trying to escape the area and heads straight for one of his faster, more sporty cars. One of the nondescript cars without his personalised number plates may have blended in more but he wanted to get away fast "Hurry up! We have to get out of here now" he encourages birds into the sky as he strides along, squawking once more. They'd fly home and he safe, he just had to do the same.
Mike took the driving seat as Oswald tried to convince his rather reluctant vulture to leave him and fly on home. He didn't have time to argue with birds though, if it didn't go home at the very worst it was trained to follow the car. Mike lurched the car out of it's spot the moment the Penguin got in, quickly speeding it out of the private parking area only to meet with a problem. The chaos was showing on the road. Sirens could be heard all over as the police tried to get in to the area while everyone else tried to get out. There was no room to drive anywhere but Mike gave shunting his way through on the pavement a very good try. If the escaping pedestrians didn't get out of his way he didn't care.

The Scarecrow had staggered about on the roof of the balcony he had stepped onto. The walls around him were beginning to shake from the sheer force of Starfire moving through the building. She was quite possibly the strongest force he had ever “Created.” But tearing down the place wasn’t enough; she was going to need to bring him the Penguin. He was well aware that the Penguin was probably on his way out to escape but it didn’t matter. He had chosen wisely in the person to collect him and she was not going to fail in finding him. The Penguin simply couldn’t waddle fast enough and there was nowhere to hide from the Scarecrow.
The crumbling and cracking of the floor around him made him jump to a more stable part of the rail and lower his arms from his dramatics. The people had begun to run and scream from their better. They were right where they belonged, at his feet screaming for their very souls to be spared. He could have let his arms stay up and basked in the air all night, but a gunshot close to his shoulder snapped his head forward.
Foolish men….His eyes darkned from behind the mask as another man shot and he lept out of the way to the ground. The Scarecrow made his way through the giant hole that Starfire had created and trailed after her in his own way, following each burst through a wall or hole in the floor. It seemed they had resorted to trying to take out the source rather than the catalyst to their problems. The scarecrow narrowly missed being hit by jumping into what seemed to be a guard rail to some sort of tank.
His eyes scanned the dark water. It was odd for water to be like this, he had only ever seen it in the ocean but he had never truly seen the ocean with his own two eyes. Everything he was observing was completely based off of his knowledge. His eyes cast up quickly to the sound of coming foot falls. He was going to be trapped momentarily if he didn’t move and going back up was not an option. The water moved in front of him in a weird way…a way that told him not to go inside but he had little choice…and nothing to fear.
The Scarecrow jumped into the tank with moments to spare and dove into the dark water. He wasn’t particularly the best swimmer but he did water he could for having such little surface area. The waves were pushed with his arms as he took to swimming like a frog through utter darkness. He had to make it to the other side.

Fragments dropped. Wires frayed. With the huge hole the tamaranean princess had created. Destruction beyond the humanly manor. With orange body fuelled with the internal flame, burning to unleash from her skin. The lengthy red fiery hair swirled around, flickered from the mere energy that coursed through her body. Eyes bright of acid green. Hands ready, there was no second needed to pull any trigger. They were weapons. Lethal. Deadly. Especially when used in such a manor. Starfire was a force to be reckoned with. Strong, but without the ability of control… Starfire was much more dangerous… Of course unleashing full power would jeopardise the soul purpose of her master, but oh… X'hal! This was already going to be a show. For all to remember. With the surrounding shear of panic. From the Scarecrow and very much Starfire. The building could literally be torn down, if it was needed. There was one goal.. Get the penguin… With the deviant smile on her lips. As the passage had began. How ever long it took. How ever many holes. Walls. Floors. Starfire flew, like a hot burning star. In the panic. People were darting left. Right and centre. Mostly they dodged the fiery red woman. Otherwise she'd probably go through, no she dodged… Mostly. As any man brave enough, was met with a might blow… Oh. Yes that one went down like the many kingdoms had come.
There was an alluding feeling… The master following his puppet. Her mind was on the goal. Though feet had come to a landing. Causing anyone around her to flee in all opposite directions… This was now like which door to pick. As her sharp green eyes scanned them. Listened. She was a little more gifted in that area than a human, though she was no kryptonian… They were too stubborn…. Just as Starfire motioned to grab and drag the information out of somebody. There was a splash… Not so far off. Initially in her alert state. Turned, looking until the people moved enough… Too see the darkened familiar man… Scarecrow. A frown encased her features. Assuming from the people around, they had attacked him… Thrown him in… With… The Sharks! As Starfire saw fins. Jaws… As he swam to the other side. Starfire was shift in her motions as it almost felt like her heart raced, maybe she was getting the flu… Reaching out a strong orange hand. Shark jaws just at the inch. She was not so gentle in pulling him out. Other hand burn with a starbolt. Shot through the water. Once safe. Her hand immediately came under Scarecrow's jaw. Motioned a little as if Starfire was checking his vitals. The light in his eyes.
"Master! You trying to get yourself killed?"
Starfire let go her grip, her voice almost caring as she spoke the chaining word. Her voice more gritty at her question and frown. Before her eyes looked down at the blood and slimy guts at different parts of her body. Hair. Blood possibly stained the tank. Pulling a lengthy scale from her cleavage, falling to the floor. As rather more focused eyes were upon the drowned Scarecrow. He was the one calling the shots, but he needed to be more careful… Looked over him a last time, before something caught her eye… Ah… Not to fast. Starfire stopped a very well looking, nice eyed fellow… Oh. There even a little tag. Perfect! His lit up. Quivered. As Starfire met his space. Fingers tolling at the buttons of his shirt. Gently. Before simply, she flicked a button completely off. The nice act was over. As tightly grabbed him.
"Shhh! Shhh! Which direction did the Penguin go? I'll let you go, if you tell me!"
The man quivered and shook in her tightened grip. Was possible he even wet himself, as she could almost turn a nose… As her voice in a firm sense, eased the sounds of fear… The fear that encased his mind and would very much lose his ability to focus. The beady eyes shifted around, before they landed on hers. With a more look of almost honesty on Starfire's face, simply demanding what she wanted. That she would simply spare his life. The very life he was struggling to keep, but X'hal… A dog had more courage than this. His mouth moved, but startled. Moving to the Scarecrow. Even drowned like wet hay, he was enabling the evoke of fear. It crippled all around. Starfire's eyes trailed to where the man looked. To her master… He was no doubt, relentless… As a deviant motion came to her lips. Before her eyes moved back to the man. As if no doubt, Scarecrow wouldn't show mercy… If, oh… She just happened to drop the poor soul at his feet, but master needn't use his energy. On such a thin life. Smile gone and grip tightened… It wasn't much longer, he had to cough it up… Pointing Starfire in the general direction of the right passage to take. As that her grip tightened. Almost like an encasing warmth of sun. Smiled. Before letting the man down, roughly. Possibly against the wall… The smile broadened. Her mighty fist nearing her chest… As in a lasting moment, her green tamaranean eyes gave a glance at her master… Make him proud!
In the shift haste like a shooting star. Starfire flew… Fists broke through the direction. Without even a second thought to stop. Slow down. As the red contrail flowed like snakes and ladders behind. No odd turns… She could break through all walls. Doors. Causing the building to quake. To shake… If not by now. Gotham would be awaken to the fact. Destruction. Yet as the tamaranean kept going… No Penguin… Starfire wasn't going to stop until, he was firmly in her grasp. With people scattering. As soon there was an ending… As Starfire shot out of an opening to the outside. Pulled back in a moment. Floated in that spot. Green eyes scattered. Cars. People. It was mayhem. Mindless at the on coming policemen. As guns drew fire. Starfire used the power of her starbolts. Shielding, before releasing a mighty power, that rumbled towards them. Knocking potential people. Cars… Just at another fire. Her ears turned to the getaway car. The trace of the man in the car. Eyes trailed over… Before a smirk came to her face… Shot across… There was no escaping… As the car began to attempts to drive. Starfire's feet and weight, crushed on top of the hood of the car. The engine and parts, crumbling around her. With her hands at charge. Standing with mighty power, in her orange beauty, wonder and danger. With mostly her lengthy legs exposed to those in the car. Lowered in position. The car beneath crumbling more. As her green eyes glared. Enough to radiate how violent she could truly be. Ah… There he was. A shear spark drove through her, maybe it was the collar tight around her neck. In the look of possibly panic and chances to run… Starfire didn't leave much to chance. Starfire flew to the passenger door. If by chance the waddling bird had tried to be smart to head to the other door. The fiery tamaranean was there. Hands reached through the window. Tightly around him. He wasn't heavy enough to out weigh her strength. Pulling his body in her general direction. Only the window was so wide. In a few attempts. The door broke off. Lifting Penguin into the air and pulling the car door from his shoulders. Tossing it…
"I've got him…"
Starfire could almost shout as she had flown to wherever Scarecrow had been… Potentially watching? As Starfire held the Penguin at her grasp, out a little with his chubby legs dangling before her creators eyes. No doubt, he'd be pleased... The car behind most likely blew up, from the mere destruction Starfire had caused. Evident of flame. Fire!

Two very hungry great white sharks, acquired for the club at great expense, suddenly find their tank invaded by some swimming thing. As is to be expected for sharks belonging to someone like the Penguin they sometimes get fed some rather questionable things so when Jon dives into their tank their first thought is naturally food. Gliding gracefully through the water towards the moving morsel the only thing that slowed them was their own battle to be first to dinner, taking the form of a few firm shoves by the larger. Alas what could have possibly been their last meal is cruelly saved from between their fangs as the larger shark dives in from the chomp, missing by inches and turning sharply as it was burned by the bolt. The smell of blood fills the water as the smaller turns on the injured and a whole new battle begins.
For a long time Oswald had assumed one day someone would try to destroy the lounge, in every way possible he'd attempted to avoid it from having the building structurally strengthened to employing enough gun toting staff to deter all but the suicidal. There are some things that are nearly impossible to defend against and Starfire it seems is one, for them there are back up plans. The more important projects were kept off site, the security centre and main databases of all Oswald's knowledge, files and recordings was likewise kept as far away from the lounge as possible so even as the building began to crumble Oswald's network of command remained operational. There was no avoiding it, the lounge was falling, none of the thugs were going to want to go up against Starfire, everyone was running and anything important or incriminating was being wiped from the lounge system.
The only problem Oswald had was getting away. He didn't have to get far before he could drop into the sewers and be away in no time, the only reason he didn't have closer access was the irritatingly detailed knowledge of some more accustomed to the sewers had urged him to shut off a lot of routes so they couldn't get in that way.
For a moment Oswald almost relaxes, there would be time for anger but first there was the relief that they'd got out. Relief though is sharply interrupted by a squawk of horror escaping as a pair of legs appeared and the front half of the car was crushed. Mike had barely enough time to recover from the stun of the violent stop and reach for his gun before Oswald was pulled from the car.
Another squawk, this time not just of surprise but also pain as Oswald starts to panic and reach for the door only to be pulled through it. He clings tightly to his umbrella as he's carried away, it's a small comfort in times of stress though he doesn't have the time to think of it, he can only desperately resist the urge to shoot it at Starfire by yelling at her instead "Release me at once!" Fortunately he doesn't have to wait for long until Jon comes into sight. The man clearly responsible for setting this monstrosity loose onto his business. Even dangling from Starfire's arms the Penguin manages to forget his fear and replace it with blind rage for a moment, his face twisting as he opens fire on Jon with the umbrella, right as his over protective vulture chooses that moment to fly into Starfire's head and attack her.
Back at the car Mike struggles with the partially out of shape driver's door before he gets it loose enough to kick open and runs back for the lounge, heading for the private parking lot again "They've got the boss" He calmly informs the security control as he breaks into the trunk of one of the more armoured cars and scans over the small arsenal inside. His gun just wasn't going to cut it today, he needed something bigger.
