Hawkgirl quirks her head at that answer, but simply nods. To say that she's used to such things would be putting it mildly - just as she has enough unusual friends that him having a wolf in his head doesn't phase her, those friends have enough strange gear that having glasses incorporated into a mask is practically normal. Actually, most of the ones who bother with something like that go the extra mile and make them infrared, night-vision, or other such things rather than basic lenses.
But she smirks again at his other comment, saying, "That part of my mind is a bit nastier than the rest of me. Assuming I'm not having a rotten day, anyway." She gives one of her wings a stretch, shifting her weight slightly to accommodate that. Now she's starting to feel a bit restless in the more acute sense, now having stood around talking for so long. "How are your eyes feeling now?" she asks.

Wulfen wasn't phased by the fact that her reaction to him having glasses in his mask wasn't one of major surprise. As a matter of fact he didn't really care what others thought. And also he was sure that she knew some who had MUCH more interesting gear. Also he had no idea what the popular opinion was of him. Or if he was even known to the general public.
When Hawkgirl said that part of her mind was nastier then the rest of him he thought about making a comment but he figured that the comment he thought of would be another one of the bad ideas to say. "Well my eyes are feeling alot better now. The lens's blocked the worse of it." He said blinking. "Besides its been about half an hour. That's usually when pepper spray wears off." He added. "I did my research into what I could possibly go up against in this job." As he said all of this he couldn't help but stare at her wings. He hoped that it wasn't offensive but he just thought that she looked so much like a kyrie from Nordic legend. And he thought that it was a impressive sight.

Hawkgirl's own gear is rather minimal. Other than her helmet and mace, all she has is a few different communicators. Then again, given that she's a winged woman with super-strength, super-speed, super-durability, and a number of other inherent abilities she really doesn't need much.
And she purses her lips slightly as he comments on the pepper spray. "I wouldn't know, I've never been pepper sprayed," she admits, "We have something somewhat similar on Thanagar, though. The only trick to the stuff is to be careful enough and quick enough to avoid it - that should come in time." It's been awhile since anyone got her with that stuff either, and it's a bit worse. Everything on Thanagar is at least a little bit worse...
She of course notices him staring at her wings, but by this point she's used to it. Having spent the past five years living on a planet where the people don't have them, it happens a lot and she's long since gotten over having a problem with it. Some things are just too unimportant to raise a fuss about it. "Speaking of time, if you're feeling better then perhaps I should carry on with my patrol. That's the thing about Gotham - there's always someone else out there with a cell in Blackgate or Arkham just waiting for them," she comments with a shake of her head. She actually finds the city a bit irritating since there's so little here that she'd actually call a challenge, but she has to admit that it has a seemingly unending supply of unchallenging criminals to take care of.

Wuflen nodded in agreement. "Yeah I should work on that shouldn't I?" He said more as a joke then a real question. And only because he knew the answer. He realized that he was staring at her wings and suddenly felt guilty. Here he was not liking it when people stared at his teeth or his hair and he was staring at her wings. He never got upset wen people stared at him but he did get annoyed. But he didn't know how she would react.
"Sorry I didn't mean to stare." He said quickly looking back to Hawkgirl's face, or rather her mask. "Its just well...... They look rather cool." He said then he felt a question forming one he couldn't help but ask. "I'm sorry I know you must hear this question alot and I'm sorry if I'm annoying you with it. But I've always wanted to know this." He said then after he paused to think about how to ask it. "What's it like to fly without having to use a machine?"
When she made the comment that she should continue on her patrol he motioned to look at his watch. And then remembered that he wasn't wearing it. 'I need to add a timepiece to this suit.' He thought. Then he looked back to Hawkgirl. "Ok sorry if I slowed you down at all. IF you need to get going then don't let me stop you." He said then after a pause. "And honestly. Thanks for the talk. I really needed it." He said meaning what he said. "And I'll start looking for either a mentor or a way to train myself starting tom-" Then he stopped what he was about to say. "I mean starting now." He hoped she knew what he meant. He didn't think he could find anyone in the next few seconds. Well anyone that didn't have something bigger to do then to train a wolf. But he wasn't going to put it off.

Wulfen's apology gets a shrug. "Everyone does," she replies, not really that bothered. One never enjoys being stared at - except perhaps by an attractive male who is doing it because he thinks that you're attractive - but literally everyone does.
And they always ask her that question too, so by now she knows how to summarize the answer to it quickly, "It's like walking. It's just what I do." It probably seems exciting and thrilling to a ground bound species, but the novelty of it wore off for her long ago. Then again, when she pulls off a particularly difficult maneuver, that is exciting. But it's also exciting when she does something tricky on the ground. So, yes, it's just like walking to her.
When he thanks her for the talk, she smirks and says, "It was a pleasure to meet you, Wulfen, and you're welcome. I'll keep an eye out for your name in the news." Because he could very well end up there, in her estimation. Or not, depending on where his life leads him. Her wings spread slowly, preparing for an imminent takeoff.

Wulfen looked at Hawkgirl. She may not have given much of a reaction to his apology. But he felt better about having give it. He looked out over the rooftops and let his mind wander some. 'Who would want to train a wolf?' He wondered.
"So its just like walking?" He repeated. "I always thought it'd be more exicting." He commented. "But then again. You do it all the time, eh?" He added. He still thought about who would be willing to train him. He felt that he would do better with a mentor that could tell him where he was doing things wrong. But then again he didn't know that many other "super" heroes.
"It was nice meeting you too Hawkgirl." Wulfen said in reply. "I'll be sure that if I'm in the news. It'll be something worth mentioning. Or knowing me. I'll do my best to not get mentioned unless I'm directly responsible for something." He said. "I'm not the type to steal credit." He added. Then he took a few steps back as he saw her spreading her wings. He gave a little wave for no real appearent reason as a final gesture of friendliness. It was just who he was. "See you around maybe?" He said as a quick friendly comment. And one of his habitual good by for friendly conversations.

"Exactly," Hawkgirl replies as he mulls over the comparison of flying to walking. She flies more than she walks most days, and days where she doesn't she tends to count as bad days - usually it means that she's stuck inside somewhere instead of patrolling. Of course it comes with perks walking doesn't - the ability to see further, often a very good view - but it's all something she's extremely used to having. Something her entire race is used to having, actually.
She laughs lightly at his comment on stealing credit, though more because it brings so many incidents to mind - just how many times has the media failed to attribute something to the correct hero? More times than she can count, that's for sure. Though if he's mentioned at all, even for the wrong reason, that would be a sign that he's becoming known.
"Perhaps," is her only reply to his last question. She has no idea where she'll be tomorrow, let alone the next day, so she can make no promises about when or even if she'll run into him again. She suddenly looks up and jumps high into the air, only then giving a powerful thrust with her wings. She could take off without jumping, but the downthrust from that would be strong enough to knock over any ordinary human anywhere near her. That's a mistake you only make... Well, she made that mistake a few times, but she's learned to be more careful now.
She settles into a quick cruising speed as she resumes her patrol, eyes immediately looking downward at the city and scanning for the slightest glimpse of a crime to stop with eyes that miss very little. The slow, easy strokes of her wings hint that in spite of the fact that she shrinks rapidly from view she could be going much faster if she was actually trying for speed, but in a city like this she has to keep her speed down to fully scan each street as she passes overhead. Like she said, someone in this city deserves to be in a cell somewhere, and now she's looking for them just like her namesake bird looks for a mouse.

Wulfen couldn't help but smile at her answer to his comment about walking. He always had a habit of looking on the bright side of things. Or in this case seeing the silly in the bland.
He felt a slight gust of wind as she took off. But he wasn't knocked off his feet, but he actually get a glimpse of how strong she was by the way she took off.
Wulfen grinned as he watched Hawkgirl he felt he had just met one of the strongest beings on Earth. Granted she wasn't human but still.
Then he finished watching her fly away and then his thoughts changed to something else. He turned and started to walk in the direction he came from. "Now where are those punks with the pepper spray?" He muttered. "Now that I know what they got I can stop them." He was grinning wolfishly the whole time.
