Bold is how Hawkgirl thinks, how she acts, and just plain who she is. If she believes that she should say or do something, she doesn't shy away from acting upon that. She does not 'do' subtle and never backs down from anything unless it's a tactic. There's positives to that - nobody ever has to wonder about her opinion on anything - but also negatives. She has a habit of boldly charging into situations with no other plan than the general idea that she's sure she'll manage to win. But while Batman may be a master of being prepared for anything, Hawkgirl is a master of not letting a little thing like being unprepared get in her way. Hawkgirl nods at Mary's suggestion to sweep the city and immediately speeds up. And it's quickly apparent by the way she patrols that her nickname refers to more than her appearance. She uses her sharp eyes to quickly scan the streets below for anything that seems abnormal, not unlike the way a hawk would scan a field for a mouse. Going fast enough to look over the entire city within an hour means that they need to go fast enough that she won't get more than a glance at any one spot, but though she's likely to miss anything subtle that means that if anything more obvious is happening this evening she'll definitely spot it. And because the FBI has managed to quell most of the street crime, that's actually a good strategy. She also nods at Mary's first question, simply saying, " I wasn't able to say all that I need to last time I talked to him because we weren't in the most secure location. I actually told you most of it when we met - it's hard to find a safer place to talk than in the air and on the move. Batman can't do that." Well, that and the fact that Catwoman was there and she'd hardly trust letting a criminal hear everything. Mary's next question causes a smirk as she comments, " Yes, not that it helped them." Anything a criminal says that is not relevant to helping her fight crime goes in one ear and out the other, including flirting. Then again, she's old enough to be completely immune to flattery when she wants to be. " You can't take any of that seriously - they just hope that it will make you lose focus and help them get away. But more often I get mistaken for an angel when I rescue someone," she adds, with a shake of her head. She has Hro waiting for her back on Thanagar, so she's not about to pay attention to any of it. (OOC: I don't really have anything either, but it seemed a little awkward to me to skip ahead an hour given how much Hawkgirl had to say. Feel free to skip ahead in your post if you want.)

Don't get her wrong, Mary loved her brother and her parents but being in Gotham on her own with no way for the big red cheese to get in and keep tabs in her, and whether knowingly or unknowingly make her feel that she was just his sister, having the chance to be the captain of her own ship? It was starting to grow on her and it helped her become a little bolder. Not quite on the same level as Hawkgirl yet she supposed but Gotham had a way of casting a shadow over one's soul. Look at how dark Batman was, not his costume but his attitude in general. She'd seen pictures of him in suit before. It matched him well. In some ways Hawkgirl was cut from the same cloth, probably more so. Mary could feel it starting to affect her since she'd been here and she liked it. The change was slow and subtle but it was there. In a way that would shock even her in the coming days. If she only knew. In the back of her mind the elders spouted their warnings, and Mary had started to push them aside. Things in Gotham had changed considerably. Maybe it's time for Mary Marvel to change also.
Mary listened and nodded, smiled even as Hawkgirl finished answering her last question about the flirting and such. Mary actually found it a little flattering but that wasn't what allowed Red X to get away from her. She had to return the headdress and by the time she came back out in search of X, he was untraceable.
Their patrol during the next hour had fl;own by. They had stopped a robbery but outside of that the search was uneventful until they headed to Wayne Tower and touched down on the roof."I really should start wearing a watch. We're either early or he's late.

There are good things about patrolling with someone, and then there are bad things. The good things are mostly about it being more entertaining during the slow parts, and the bad things are mostly about it being less entertaining when there's actually something to do: Hawkgirl likes a good fight, but on a planet where most of the natives are such weaklings means that a good fight is often hard to come by. Having help while you deal with the weaklings just makes that worse. Still, Mary is good enough company that on the whole she actually finds the hour long patrol more enjoyable than usual.
When they're finished and reach Wayne Tower, Hawkgirl smirks at Mary's comment. "I don't bother with watches myself - if I need to know the time I can see a pedestrian's watch from this height if nothing else. We should be right on time," she replies. Because, yes, her eyes are that good. "And I'll bet you anything he's beaten us here," she adds about the empty-looking rooftop. That's not a matter of having sensed him yet, so much as a strong hunch based on past experience with the man. Her head tilts slightly as she pauses to listen - it's easy enough to defeat her eyes by keeping out of her line of sight, but her ears are a different matter.

Sure as Gotham city was polluted with corruption, was as sure that Bat was never late to pre-arranged engagement (if he could help it, that is). Low and behold the Dark Knight himself stepped out of the shadows upon Wayne Tower’s rooftop, exposing all 6’1” of his armored, black bat-suit clad self. His gaze of sheer, unblinking white slits glanced from Mary Marvel to Hawkgirl.
He was aware of Mary Marvel and her affiliation with JLA, but had never met the hero in the flesh and the amount of knowledge he had on her (stored in both his supercomputer and the recess of his meticulous mind) was for basic information at best. He also kept in mind that both heroes arrived on time, which was a positive mark in his book.
[glow=navy,2,300]“Hawkgirl,”[/glow] a nod was given to the winged JLA member. [glow=navy,2,300]“And Mary Marvel.”[/glow] That was as formal and as personal as the Bat got when it came to meeting the newer member of JLA, giving Mary Marvel a quick once over. His attention focused right back on his agenda at hand now, without missing a beat as the ‘well-known conversationalist’ he was rumored to be.
[glow=navy,2,300]“Given the nature of the information I’ve currently accrued, meeting in person seemed the best route. Any heroes or vigilantes willing to assist in this FBI ordeal, for the time being, are welcome in Gotham as long as I have met with them first to give approval. As you both can understand I’m leery on whom I can and cannot trust. This also means some very fragile and temporary truces have come to pass as a means to gather all information and man power I can in order to eventually take Gotham back under control. Catwoman is under a very scrutinized truce with myself and my associates.”[/glow] His last statement was given with a sharp look to Hawkgirl.
[glow=navy,2,300]“Scrutinized and very temporary.”[/glow] He added. [glow=navy,2,300]“I also have confirmed the situation with Lady Blackhawk—she has been somehow compromised and taken sides with the FBI. Her behavior was erratic at best, much unlike herself—though her memory of me was intact… her currently altered behavior leads me to believe that more than brute force and threat tactics are being used by the Feds. It also means for now, Lady Blackhawk is no longer on our side, but now she is one of them and to be treated as such until the situation changes. I took an environmental scan of her living quarters and have secured evidence to expose some of the FBI’s true nature here in Gotham by getting a copy of her badge ID.”[/glow] He suddenly tossed two small PDA devices towards both Mary Marvel and Hawkgirl with an image of the fake FBI badge stating the label of “SHERIFF” on it. [glow=navy,2,300]“These PDAs have been specifically secured to my personal connection only. I don’t think I need to go over their high level security and function as I’m sure my reputation precedes me. They are linked with all files I have comprised with the FBI case at hand and can only be used by those they’ve been designated to. Anyone else trying to access them will get… a fun surprised. These devices will receive updates as I make them. You may also add your own information pertaining to the situation at hand through these PDAs.”[/glow] His tone became even more dark and grim about the usage of his specially tweaked PDAs.
[glow=navy,2,300]“If you take a look at their screens right now you can see that it’s a fake FBI badge I’ve encountered when checking in on Lady Blackhawk—one she flashed along with her gun. I’ve also obtained the serial number on her gun and am running a system scan to see if its registered with the FBI data base as a legitimate piece. The evidence of Lady Blackhawk wielding a fake badge leads me to believe that the Feds may be here in Gotham either against the government’s orders, or without the government’s knowledge. Or, they may not be associated with the real Federal Bureau of Investigation at all given the highly illegal act of carrying anything that impersonates a Federal Agent’s badge of ID. These are theories I’m still securing.”[/glow] His statement was dark, knowing, and final. After a moment of silent thought, he looked from Hawkgirl to Mary Marvel while he asked a suddenly unexpected question.
[glow=navy,2,300]“Given your active states within the JLA, are either of you in close contact with Superman?”[/glow]

Many people only know Batman as an urban legend if the rumor mill is worth it's salt. And those that do know him say he has an almost unnatural ability to pop out of the woodwork when you least expect it. His sudden appearances out of nowhere can be both surprising and startling. Mary Marvel has heard people say that before but she took it as nothing more than gross exaggerations. How a man with no powers can inspire such a cult following, can strike such fear into criminal types and carry such a commanding presence, the maiden of might just couldn't figure it out.
Until now.
Hawkgirl seemed to detect his presence but Mary was caught by surprise when he stepped into view. It was as if he had been invisible the whole time. She gulped and shuddered slightly in spite of herself. She was 6'9" in Marvel form, 2 inches taller than in normal form and he seemed to dwarf her. Not a goddess, but a heroine with the power of the gods in her frame and she was thrown for a loop. How on God's green Earth did he do that?" She silently asked herself, very quick to regain her composure and act as if it didn't phase her. That question however would plague her for awhile.
"A pleasure to meet you, Batman." She chimed in and responded with a nod before he got down to business, unfolding the why's of this rooftop rendezvous. She nodded again while taking the PAD into her palm, studying the screen, slowly turning it over and then right side up again, hanging on every word while Batman explained their usage. Her eyes narrowing upon the data while processing Batman's words.
"Do not misunderstand me, Batman. I am not saying she made a fool of you. I have enough respect to know better and I doubt it is possible for anyone to make a fool of you so easily. I would strongly suggest the possibility however that her intent was to make a fool of you. I might be telling you something you already know but perhaps she does have an authentic badge and just showed you that fake for...i don't know why but you never know." She shrugged, sighing softly before examining the pocket computer.
She pondered discussing possible theories looming in the back of her mind as to why someone like Lady Blackhawk would flip flop so easily. There had to be more to that than met they eye but that discussion could wait she decided. The Dark Knight seemed to have a slight tone of dread to his voice when he asked about Superman, or maybe she was imagining it. Her hands raised to her chest, her left being grasped by her right as she rubbed the back of it and massaged her knuckles with a look of worry over where this conversation might lead.
"Before I started showing my costume in Gotham, I had been commuting from Metropolis to here with semi-regular contact with Kal. It's been a few weeks since I've seen him but he's a friend, we've kept in touch through emails concerning important matters." She answered, her teeth gently pressing into her lower lip ."Why do you ask?"

Hawkgirl is a mere 5'6", though her wings have a tendency to make her appear larger than she actually is. But even so size definitely doesn't matter; she's much, much stronger than she looks and she takes full advantage of the inherent maneuverability being smaller in body offers gives her when she fights. Her Thanagarian constitution means that she can take a punch, but her agility means that she doesn't very often.
She is, of course, not phased by him simply appearing. Batman does that - she's fairly used to it. She listens to his words, though his comment about Catwoman and the look he gives her gets an eyeroll. "Fine," she says, "And very scrutinized." Though she sincerely hopes that she can merely avoid interacting with the woman at all. She'd say that she doesn't trust the cat any further than she can throw her, except that she suspects that she could throw her pretty damn far.
The serious line of her lips shifts into a somewhat angry frown when he starts talking about Lady Blackhawk. A vigilante has taken the FBI's side? That's definitely bad news, especially in light of something else that she knows. And the way that her expression shifts from angry to troubled pretty quickly is a small hint of this.
She catches the PDA easily and looks at the picture carefully. These humans and their primitive technology. She wonders if she could get the screen resolution higher if she tampered with it... She may not be as much into gadgetry as anyone in the bat family, but that's hardly because she doesn't know her way around technology. It's more that she seldom sees the use of all those devices when her natural abilities are sufficient for most of her needs. Long-range communication is one notable exception to that. Though she might change her mind if she had Nth metal to use and could therefore make devices that wouldn't break easily like all of this metal and plastic.
Batman's speculation about the badge interrupts her thoughts and she frowns at his words, though her attention shifts to Mary as she offers her own opinion on that. "I think I'm going to have to agree more with Mary on that one. I don't know what the woman's intent was, but there could be many reasons why she'd show you a fake badge. I do know for sure that we're definitely dealing with the real FBI - though I'd agree if you wanted to argue that they're not acting much like it," she says, and that troubled expression reappears on her face as she adds, "Thinking of which, have you talked to the Question yet?"
The sudden question about Superman causes Hawkgirl to lift an eyebrow, though it can't be seen underneath her helmet, "I haven't seen him since they blocked the borders, but I've been communicating with him one way or the other almost daily - the 'almost' because there isn't really much to say." Hawkgirl is not one for friendly chitchat with the Kryptonian, but with times being what they are they've had quite the need to keep information flowing as they're both very active and very senior members of the League. That, and Clark would definitely want to notice as quickly as possible if she stopped communicating, thanks to her plans. She doesn't bother to repeat Mary's question about why he's asking, though it's implied by the curious tilt of her head.

After listening to both women’s thoughts on his own theories, he moved to only briefly rub at his exposed barely stubble covered, chiseled, pale jaw. [glow=gray,2,300]“Again, I only am going by theories and possible speculations. There is the very real distinct possibility that Lady Blackhawk was given a fake badge because she was on our side of the law and the Feds are still working on training her. Their authenticity unfortunately appears legit, I concur. Still, never hurts to have case information. Superman works closely and is in good standing with the U.S. government, so getting a hold of him to see if he has any news about the F.B.I.’s intrusion on Gotham maybe helpful. I’m covering all angles.”[/glow] He wrapped his synthetic, inky black cape tightly about his muscular, armored, lean form—the movement made appear as though he was looming over them, hovering within the shadows. [glow=gray,2,300]“I intend to pay a visit to Question now. I heard last he had taken shelter with Huntress. As for my theory on Lady Blackhawk? I think her change of heart over which side she chooses to fight for wasn’t a change made on her own decision. Her personality appeared to have done a complete flip, a 180 of herself… It almost was as if she has been placed under severe persuasion or manipulative influence from an outside source. I need to know what goes on inside their headquarters—and for the moment, debriefing the Question is going to be my best bet. As a side note, keep an eye out for any unusual or extreme criminal activity. The Riddler placed a new riddle—one I’m close to solving. Whatever it is, it can’t be good—so be alert.” [/glow] He now studied both Mary Marvel and Hawkgirl, his lips firm and added to the grim look of the scowl molded into his black bat-mask. Just then the white slit lenses in the eyeholes of his mask retracted and now his startling icy blue gaze was seen—confirming his humanity. [glow=gray,2,300]“Before I leave you two, anything to report from your patrol thus far?”[/glow]

After Shayera and Batman answered her concerns about Lady Blackhawk she became silent and stood by taking it all in for awhile/ Carefully processing every word so as to be able to recall it later when needed. She didn't have a photographic memory as some would call it but she could still do very well regardless.
She didn't let anyone see it on her but she was growing a little tired of Lady Blackhawk being the center of conversation. For whatever reason she made her own bed, let the old woman lay in it. There were other costumed types, such as herself and Shayera, the dark knight himself as well that could end up backed into a similar corner if the FBI started to push and frankly Mary had enough of her own worries to keep from letting those of a traitor concern her.
"I saw the Riddler's riddle me this stunt but I have gotten nowhere in solving it yet. I hope the Question makes a quick recovery. Please tell him that from me when you see him." Mary frowned sympathetically, deciding to let Hawkgirl be the one to to tell Batman Gosh no, Mary and I dug through the streets for a whole hour and came up with 31 flavors of diddly squat. Sorry to burst your bubble. She thought to herself, mentally visualizing how she would offer her sarcasm if she were in Shayera's place.

Nodding slowly to Batman's thoughts on Lady Blackhawk, Hawkgirl mutters, "I wonder..." Looking back at him she adds, "A thought: Huntress mentioned something that may be a factor. She said that Question had spoken of a girl working for the FBI who could read minds. Perhaps that's a factor? I didn't give it much thought since Thanagarians are basically immune to telepathy, but mind readers can often do more than that. Then again, Question's mind seemed unharmed. More than usual, anyway." She frowns slightly, and shakes her head. That's pure speculation on her part, but a fact that she'd neglected to mention before.
"And Superman is attempting to use his influence over the U.S. government, but he tells me it's slow going. He says that the people in charge of this whole thing are insisting that they're merely here to clear the criminals out of the worst crime filled city in the nation. And though it's readily obvious to us that they're getting a bit... carried away, they're refusing to acknowledge that point and/or insisting that the amount of corruption within Gotham and the deep-seated nature of the problem justifies using this means to that end.
"But some of their means has both of us worried. According to Huntress, the reason why the Question was caught was because he was helping a woman the FBI arrested that he knew was innocent. I don't know the details, but I trust Question's judgment when it comes to whether or not an innocent person is in enough danger in the hands of the authorities to require such a thing. The worry is, if they're making the mistake of going after innocent civilians as well as vigilantes with so much force, why not heroes as well? Given their current policies, I could be labeled a criminal because I'm known to work with vigilantes.
"Which, as I've already told Mary, is why I'm continuing my normal practice of not keeping where I live a secret," Hawkgirl says, then smiles. Given that her Thanagarian wings prevent her from even attempting to 'blend-in' and have an alternate identity, things like housing present a problem to Hawkgirl if she wants to keep it quiet. But since she's rather of the mindset that she'd be all to happy to take on anyone who wants to track her down, she doesn't bother. "If the F.B.I. get it in their heads to question or arrest a hero, I mean to be available so that I'd be first. If that happens, I don't intend to fight back. While your methods may lead the public to question exactly where you stand, mine do not; not only would it serve was a warning that the entire JLA may end up targeted since the new law that brought the FBI here is national in scope, but the public reaction would be... not good. Perhaps enough to end all of this, given that the people at the head of this require popular opinion to keep their jobs," she explains, and then smirks, "And I have little to lose - no lives resting on a secret identity, don't have to worry about their mind-reader, and it would be nothing compared to a lot of things I've done." She's probably perfect for that job, really.
"In the meantime, yes, I'll be keeping an eye out. If not Riddler, I get the sense that something will happen soon. The F.B.I. may have caught a few of the criminals that really matter, but there are plenty left who probably object to the current climate even more than we do - and aren't shy about expressing their feelings," she says grimly. Gotham's a powder keg waiting to go off; she just knows it. "On the other hand, our patrol this evening showed slim pickings. The F.B.I. have managed to clear out the criminals that don't know how to hide," she says, though she can't say that without muttering, "Not that it really does any good."

Upon listening to Mary Marvel’s and Hawkgirl’s ideas about Gotham’s current situation with the Feds at hand a quiet nod was then given. [glow=gray,2,300]“If you mean to implant yourself further into the on-goings of the investigation the Feds are conducting as an effort to obtain the most helpful insider information—then by all means, take the lead. We’re on the same side. I’ll secure you for back up.” [/glow]
He reached into the inky confines of his cape draped form and secured his grappling gun. [glow=gray,2,300]“Just keep an eye out for anything. Communication is going to be key. That said? I’ll leave you both to the rest of the night.” [/glow] He then took aim and fired the discrete grapple gun—silently and effortlessly sharply rising up and away from the two heroes in the darkness of Gotham’s night.

The Maiden of Might continued looking thoughtful as though she were hanging on every word, weighing Hawkgirl and Batman's words carefully. She'd remember them all and had her eyes fixed on both her teammates. With her gifts, especially the more subtle ones such as those bestowed by Solomon and Achilles, she was able to quite effectively pull off the illusion she was as worried as they were about everything. She knew the right amount of emphasis to put on every syllable that came from her mouth and the body language and facial expressions to add in with them. Her self doubt, her secret feelings, beliefs, opinions and concerns about where her life was headed were just that. Secret. So much on her mind, so many of her own inner demons to battle to lose sleep over everyone else's and she was hiding it perfectly it seemed. At least so far.
There was nothing she could think to add that Shiera didn't touch on during her speech. She was clearly possessing of the most gung-ho attitude Mary had ever come across and yet here she was so willing to surrender peaceably. An act that would go against the grain of her nature. It would be a miracle in Mary's eyes if she were able to follow through without losing her temper and beginning to swing. Then again perhaps Shiera would surprise her. Maybe she didn't know Hawkgirl any better than Hawkgirl or Batman or her own family knew Mary these days. The world is full of surprises.
"And I'll tell you again what I told you the first time you told me your plan, Hawkgirl. It's insane but maybe something insane is what it takes to turn the tide. In any case I'll support you, both of you as much as I can. If either of you need help all you have to do is call and if I can, I will drop everything and come running just to do my part. Sometimes my commitments won't allow me to drop everything but I'll do what I can. Whether it be the Riddler or the FBI or whatever else." She answered with a slight smile and a wave when the Dark Knight made his exit.
More than anything else, Hawkgirl's words were fuel for the fire that was Mary's inner turmoil. Lots of things to think about. Self-appraisal and discovery but then again she'd been doing plenty of that lately. "So. Shall we take more laps around this cesspool or call it a night?" Mary asked dryly and waited for Shiera to make the call. "When exactly do you plan on turning yourself in?" She added, letting another worried frown slip firmly into place on her lips.

Nodding quickly to Batman, Hawkgirl comments, "I don't know how easy it will be getting information out - I don't think they'll let me keep anything - but I'll do what I can. I shouldn't need backup though; I may not plan on resisting, but if it gets too dangerous for me - I'll definitely resist then." Naturally, she's not going to say that she knows that Batman will be keeping an eye on the situation regardless and will likely be there if she needs him; it's not in her nature to want, expect, and especially ask for help unless and until she finds herself in a dire situation.
Batman's last comment gets a smirk as she states, "Oh, I'll keep an eye out, all right. An ear too." Telling Hawkgirl to keep an eye out is like telling Batman to keep to the shadows - it's what she does. She's silent as she watches the dark knight leave, then she turns slightly to Mary and comments, "It's good having another hero around here, by the way." Yet another feeling that she's never express: loneliness. Even with Mary around she still feels a bit lonely being away from the crowd of the Justice League's headquarters. Even in that crowd she feels lonely being the only Thanagarian.
"Feel free to keep going if you want," she replies to the first question, "I'm going to go turn in - I work the day shift, remember. Been up since before dawn." And the second question gets a smirk as she says, "And I'm not going to just 'turn myself in'. If they want me, they have to come get me. I'm just not going to stop them if they do. And who knows when or even if that will be?" She shakes her head and shrugs, not looking very concerned.

"You work the day shift. And I don't?" Mary chided with a mock stern face. "Do you see a bat on this chest? I'm not a vampire either though sometimes I wonder if I can say the same for him." Her facial expression change and became a smirk as she pointed outward in the direction Batman departed to. "With the crazy schedule he keeps I can't for the life of me figure out what drives him so hard."
Her smile widened at, her thoughts turning to the comment Shiera made about having another hero around. The underlying feel of loneliness was evident, Mary sensed it in her voice. Mainly because Mary got lonely too. Having the power of the gods doesn't exempt a person from loneliness. Like the verse from the bible says, what does it profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his own soul? There's more than one meaning to that. At least there is to Mary. "I like having you around too Shiera, you make a good friend. Just remember though if resistance becomes necessary when the dread day comes I am only a shout away. Heads will roll if it becomes necessary." She smiled and patted Hawkgirl on the shoulder.
"I think I have had enough for now too, gonna get back home. Til the next time?" She grinned with a nod and dismissed herself on her way back to Gotham Towers while her thought pattern began to waver.
A good friend..and maybe an even better potential punching bag. Heads will roll alright. Maybe yours. She blinked and shook her head at the suddenness of the thought that came out of nowhere after she disappeared from view.

Hawkgirl smirks a little at Mary's retort. "You're a single human woman under the age of 30. I expect you work whenever you feel like it," she replies, before following Mary's gaze to where Batman went and answering her comment with, "And he drives him so hard."
Her smirk fades just slightly at Mary's next comment, though it doesn't fade away completely. "It's Shayera, and I prefer Hawkgirl," she says replies quietly. Mary may consider her a friend, but the feeling may not be quite as mutual as Mary would think. She does have friends here on this planet, but only the shallow sort of friendships between allies and not that of someone who actually cares about the person too much. Not that Hawkgirl doesn't care, but she knows that her mission on this planet is temporary and she doesn't expect that when her mission here is revealed that any of her friends will like the fact that she's been lying to them very much. And after that she's unlikely to be able see any of them again. It's just better to not become too attached.
On the other hand, she does appreciate the offer of help. "Well, they're sure to underestimate me, but I'll try to save you some butt to kick if I can," she replies jokingly as she idly stretches her wings in preparation for flight. "I'll see you later," she adds as she takes off and heads home at a sedate pace.
For the moment, at least, Hawkgirl is completely clueless about the young woman's change of heart except for, perhaps, at a deep subconscious level far from the surface. She's not paranoid like Batman, after all, though she does have a general habit of trying to be ready for anything. And if Mary thinks that Hawkgirl would make a good punching bag, she's in for a rude awakening later:
Mary may have the wisdom of Solomon, but Hawkgirl has 89 years of life experience, almost 5 years of experience on this planet, 30 years of experience in one of the most ruthless militaries in the galaxy, and 18 years of training before that - in combat at least the young woman has no real advantage. Mary may have the strength of Hercules, but what use is that when Hawkgirl's agility exceeds her own and makes it unlikely that she'd get in a solid blow and Hawkgirl's own strength and stamina allow her to take some punishment? Mary may have the power of Zeus, but Hawkgirl's use of Nth metal makes her immune to magic, lightning (let alone magical lightning), and able to combat magic as if it followed normal physical rules. Mary may have the courage of Achilles, but Hawkgirl has her own courage in spades. Mary may have the speed of Mercury, but Hawkgirl possesses a combination of enhanced sight and combat experience that would allow her to perceive and anticipate the young woman's tactics. Hawkgirl has killed a god before, and she could do it again.
